2.5 just can't get into them
Seems to be a fairly popular album, but I'm not quite sold. Sounds a bit like a mix between Radiohead and Eliott Smith, but especially Radiohead are way better in my opinion. I think overall there's not enough interesting stuff going on, quite bland in general so to speak. 'Jesus, Etc.' was quite a cool song, changes sounds completely with violins and everything. But other than that it wasn't for me.
Certainly unique, with great lyricism, but I was quite bored with the exception of the final two tracks.
NFM
I hadn't heard of this band or album before, but Angus had! If LCD Soundsystem and Radiohead had a bad Brooklyn warehouse band baby, this album would be the result. Easy listening, but nothing that exceptionally stuck out for me - it was the perfect album to listen to while writing my syllabi for the fall (slow, long and boring😂)! I also didn't realise I was listening to the deluxe edition and was confused as to why this album was 3 hours long lol Fave song: War on War Honorable mention: honestly none, War on War was the only one that made me look up and check the name of the song lol
There are a few songs in here that definitely click for me, such as I Am Trying to Break Your Heart and War on War. But a large majority of the album falls too far down the Indie rabbit hole for my liking...I prefer when it's closer to Alternative on that spectrum. Too much dreamscape, moaning singing voice feel for me. Favorite track: War on War
Having read the Wikipedia blurb, I was expecting more than I got.
I learned that this isn't the band for me. I didn't find this album engaging.
fine?
I never quite got the hype around this one. It's all right, but it's also kinda boring? I don't think the noise experiments work very well, and this is coming from a guy who likes his noise. There are a couple of ok songs, but ultimately, I couldn't wait for it to end. love the cover, though
How is this influencial. Boring
Meh
I spent most of the album feeling like it was generic apathetic indie. That said, by the end it was starting to grow on me a little bit.
Meh, there's only room for one pavement
Steve loved it. I thought voice depressing and instruments discordant though I liked the last three songs not enough yo push it up to 3
Didn't do much for me, some of it sounded good but it mostly faded into the background
I was yearning for this one to end
Insipid rather than insidious? On first play I found little of inspiration. Third of fourth time through I'm warming a little but it still kind of fades into the background an is hard to concentrate on. Not actually offensive though. Great album for doing something else to. (Not to say I won't someday love it.)
What a weird album. There are some utterly dismal dirges on here that make you question your ability to stomach listening interspersed quite liberally with some actually quite fun upbeat stuff. Were there fewer utterly awful bouts of pure misery, this would probably get much more attention from me.
Not a bad album, just nothing that grabs my attention.
I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, War on War, Jesus, Etc, Heavy Metal Drummer (best song), and I’m the Man Who Loves You. This wasn’t Trentcentric. Boring as fuck besides these songs. ^ I don’t care about this. 5/10
your granny with dementia thinks this is nirvana. it's just a long stream of depressing rock music with nothing to latch on to. it got a tiny bit better at the end. overall, it made me feel bad and not in a good way. pot kettle black
A few good songs but mostly very boring. 2.5/5 FS: Jesus, Drummer, I'm the Man
Tylsää peruspoprockindietä, ei oikein muuta sanottavaa. Paitsi hittibiisi Jesus etc. toki toimii tosi hyvin
Album #3 Indie rock is really not a genre I find a lot of interest in so this really didn't do much for me. I feel like I have heard these same drowsy vocals on pretty much every other indie rock album I've given a listen. Most of the album feels like a blur to me and I really cant remember any interesting or intriguing moment. Overall it was a pretty boring couple listens but it wasn't insultingly bad to deserve the lowest score. Favorite Track: I'm the Man Who Loves You
average folk rock, nothing much extra to write home about. All the songs sound the same. 2 stars at best
Tweedy's vocal delivery kept me from enjoying this one. Kotche's unorthodox percussion was interesting, though. Still not really a songs kind of guy.
Didn't finish this one, it's one boring.
Dinosaur Jr. but boring and somehow more nonsense lyrics. Very meh album
Maybe 1 or 2 ok songs on the album
Not awful but it sounds like plain porridge tastes. A few zaps and a bit of disortion doesn't do enough to make this album genuinely interesting. He sounds like a boring Thom Yorke. Not "one of the best albums of the noughties". 2.5
Meh
eh
I just fucking can't, this is for 40 year old happy people.
Mostly boring
I’m not sure how I avoided Wilco for so long. But I wasn’t missing much. This album feels like it should exist in a world of gray. Boring and dull for the most part. I did like Jesus, Etc. but everything else was very meh.
Not really my jam, kinda bland and boring 🤷♂️
Yeah it's just not my band. I don't like gentle kinda underspoken poem songs. I tried to listen twice, but it just made me angry. For sure they have some catchy melodies on occasion, but on the whole, I never found a groove.
Bit whiny in places. Tries hard, but fails.
Artsy and boring.
Track 1- Disturbing Track 2 starts as bad but improves Track 3 is basically Radiohead, I can't really complain Track 4 just existed I guess. really nothing special. The music was good but didn't go with the lyrics Track 5 was quite cool, relaxed Track 6 was very depressing- then very strange at the end Track 7- was more upbeat this time, a good track Track 8 is pretty good, I don't mind it Track 9- Also pretty decent icl Track 10 Was a bit weird, especially at the end Track 11- Very, Very, Strange...
Like an American Radiohead but worse. A boring album that's not noteworthy but it got insane production. Very auditory pleasant with a pair of good headphones even though the songs are a snooze. Couldn't wait for the album to end. Still 2/5 as I've heard worse on the 1001 album list. And this is the second Wilco album? Wow I don't even remember listening to the other one as it was so forgettable. I don't know why they're on the 1001 album list. Maybe it's explained in the book.
Quite boring
The previous Wilco album lacked cohesion. This one is better in terms of cohesion, but I'm not really a fan of the sound on this album.
Didn't really excite me all that much
Always found Wilco to be a bit of a bore.
so fucking boring
Fun
never really been a big fan of wilco and this album didn't change my beliefs. but ya know, it was fine! a fine listen. a few songs i (irrationally) actively dislike playing at the starbucks down the road type beat
Some very creative melodies and well done instrumental parts, but the singer really sounds like he doesn't want to be there. I give Tweedy 2 tickets to somewhere warm and sunny, so he can refresh and cheer up a bit, and hopefully come back sounding a bit more... alive. 🎫🎫
2 Man, this one was kinda boring. It’s indie pop alternative and it all sounds the same to me. Occasionally they flirt with doing some cool stuff but they ultimately devolve back into the “one-and-two-and” rhythms that get old sooo fast. Favorites: War on War, Jesus. etc
This album is so boring. I could count on my hand what I liked about the album.
I will listen again, but slightly humdrum and not as special as I was expecting
2 (2-3 just like the previous one, but I already rated that one with a 3)
I've never quite understood the appeal behind this band and specifically this album. Taking a standard indie rocker and adding some mildly off-kilter samples does not a coherent genre epic make.
Wilco is an American Rock band. This is their 4th Album. They have three appearances in the 1001 Albums list (including collaboration with Billy Bragg). This is definitely a more mellow album compared to other Wilco songs I've heard. Some may call it boring.... I just think you need to spend more time with it to appreciate it. This is my first listen, and my first impression is positive and I look forward to spending more time getting to know it better. Standouts: I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, Radio Cure, War on War, Heavy Metal Drummer, Rating: 2.5/5
Btec Radiohead
Rock alternativo. Raruno.
Ehh. Nothing particularly awful about this album but also nothing that grabs you and doesn't let you go. So interesting instrumentation. I give it a solid 2.
Another one of those apparently super hip and cool records. I'm obviously not hip and cool because it just didn't do it for me.
Was leaning to giving it 3 stars, then realised it had stopped playing about 10 minutes ago, and I hadn't even noticed... so it's a 2 for me.
I do not care for Wilco. It is all indie music. None of it was memorable. It is not recommended listening. I did not skip any songs. It is probably less than a 2 but I will round up.
All just a bit bland TBH
Doet me denken aan Ladytron. **
Was excited to see a modern band I recognize. Not a fan of this album. Lots of screechy guitar, long songs. Really guitar heavy. I like heavy metal drummer. Knew it before this.
Bit boring
Blah
Nee, sorry Wilco.
Dreary indie album is dreary
This isn't truly bad, but its only real definable trait is that it's bland. Meandering indie rock is already boring by definition, but this really drives the point home. 2/5.
Best Song: Radio Cure. A slow but thoughtful pace that had enough of a forward-facing, driving tempo to keep it interesting. Worst Song: Heavy Metal Drummer. This song stuck out for me. After all the slower tracks that preceded it, I didn't believe that they wanted to play this fast. It felt coerced. Overall: Music I've never heard before that sounds like a lot of music I've already heard. Not bad, not memorable.
Nah.
Sadness dripped in melancholy.
Not very good, trying to be a spacey psychadelic thing, I think? Not a good sign I am not sure.
Not unpleasant but just didn’t grab me so a hard 2*
Didn't really interest me. Meant to go back and listen again over the weekend but forgot which speaks volumes...
Indie ñoño. Cansino. Un 2.
Discretamente noioso.
Didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I might. A bit too indie "minimalist" for me. Didn't have quite the bite or substance I was looking for.
Bland muzak
Interesting sound style from this group….
It was ok
Songs all start off promising enough, then the sleepy-voiced singer comes in and they start layering way too many things on top and mid way through it just turns to generic rock-mush. Potentially a good live band if they got a jam going, but doesn't seem to work in this format. Nothing much to the lyrics or themes, so not sure why they were so famous for a while. Maybe I'm missing something here.
Leiðinlegur söngvari
Again, I sidestepped this album at the time it came out due to overly slavish Wilco fans. I am finally warming to the band, I swear but my immediate reaction to listening to them is to be reminded of another band and go listen to them instead. For example, Heavy Metal Drummer is the best song that Pavement never wrote (I actually though it was a Steve Malkmus solo effort when I first heard that song). Did I enjoy it? Sure Was it good? A bit twee in places but yeah it was good I can't say I will ever become a dyed in the wool fan like I am with Big Star, Belle and Sebastian and the Replacements but Wilco are finally starting to grow on me
The guitar screeching at the end of each song is enough for me not to like this.
Pretty forgettable honestly
Time to give this album ANOTHER try. The first track is pretty good, but the rest of this album is pretty meandering and dull. It's ambitious for Wilco, but Wilco are a boring band to begin with, and their best work is when they are just trying to make simple, poppy country rock. Their entire career sits in the shadow of The Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo.
I found a lot of the songs on here dull and unimpressive. Some moments were alright, but those were the minority in my opinion. I liked some of the lyrics. I don't love the vocals. They're not bad, just so very average, and the singer often sounds bored. I feel like this is the kind of music people make when they want to express themselves, but aren't actually talented in any way.
Another not-great album from the early-00s. Schmaltzy and overwrought.
Found this quite a boring listen. Though liked "Radio Cure".
typical early 2000's indie. I might have liked this when I was younger, but now not much a fan
Týpískt early 2000s eitthvað. Ekkert sérstakt. Kveikti ekki í mér.
Can never get lazy, hollow sound or voices. Probably add a star for the last track Reservation.
A collection of sonic sketches.
actually i didn’t like it. there were really annoying noises and the singing was so flat. it was boring and just not interesting to listen to
Bastante raro.
3/10 - Yawn fest
Eh.
Slow songs
Enjoyed it in parts but rather forgettable and unlikely to revisit
I might need to listen again to understand the specific appeal. Perhaps you had to be there.
Not a big fan
This album is not something that I would come back to. The songs scream the message "I am an artist, therefore I must be damaged" which created a pretty annoying listening experience for me. There were a lot of elements that just didn't fit together. It wasn't the worst thing I've heard so far, but it don't think it's better than a 2.
2.5. Great artistry but way to sad for my taste. One of the hooks was "i'm gonna break your heart." Novel writing and everything but yes i was ultimately left sad when i finished listening.
Painfully boring at the beginning and end of the album. Like listening to paint dry. There’s a few good songs in the middle, namely “Jesus Etc.” and “Heavy Metal Drummer” but there’s not enough there to revisit this album for me. I think it’d be a lot more listenable without all the 7 minute “art rock” tracks.
No idea who they are. Nice start. Oh? Nice imperfect voice. Lyrics are meh :( first song is so long ugh. Second song i dont like. Some songs in the middle sound nice: war on war, jesus etc, ashes of american flags, im the man who loves you, pot kettle black. A 2 cause the songs/parts of songs i dislike i dont absolutely hate. I can say i like some parts of it but i wouldnt even replay those songs i mentioned to reconsider. Some of those parts i like remind me of some chill parts in rainbows which obviously came out later. Maybe a 2.5? Eh.
I listened to this and now I can't remember a thing about it.
Definitely alternative
Not my cup of tea.
None of the songs really did anything for me. It was kinda slow and boring, and had weird, random "avante-garde" parts that I didn't like.
Meh
Meh... Pretty dull, prob needs a lot of listens to fully appreciate
I've heard the philosophy of life and had trouble listening to this one O_O
white boy music
Not a big fan
Not for me
Boring berks
hard to listen
This is my second Wilco album I've come across on this list. I don't think it's as bad as the other one but it's boring. It's like 90s alternative without the urgency. Imagine REM sitting around one day and say, "maybe we should try writing some slow songs for once?" That would be this. It doesn't get a single star because the singer doesn't sound bad and the music is ok. Just a album full of boring. Even the band hates it. I'd like to ask the author what this did for music to warrant being on this list?
Eh
A little too mellow for me. Though if I block out the vocals the instrumental portion is nice to listen to when wanting to relax.
interesting, but not quite right for me.
incorporates the violin in the album. A couple of memorable songs Jesus, ect. Other than that pretty nondescript.
Boring and a tad pretentious
Not bad.
★½
No me gustó
Nice vibes but didn't do me much. I guess this album needs extra attention to the lyrics.
Milquetoast
I never listened to Wilco but went to see Jeff tweedys twilight override a couple months ago and it was great. However this was something different. The first two thirds of this album felt like a poor emulation of bright eyes and was almost unlistenable. The last third was ok but this was a struggle for me.
Fuck off whiny crying baby, Radiohead knock off. I thought the other reviews were exaggerating how boring this was - NO!, it was even more boring.
Absolute tosh
Meh - not really an album for me. Sleepy background music.
Misma tono todas las canciones
another almost unlistenable album. barely a chorus to be found. horrible whiny boy vibes. can't imagine living a happy life while listening to this.
This was bland
Super boring not finished
Boring.
some odd sound, it’s not awful but not impressive. sometimes it sounds very chaotic, for sure you get some and I emphasise on some radiohead mood, but for me it’s lacking harmony. I don’t want to finish it, I’d rather listen to velvet underground
If you don’t love Radiohead and The Fray at their most boring, sad sack worst, you won’t like this. ⭐️
Atonal, nonsense lyrics.
not for me
Well, that was yet some more monotone mumbling.
Great if you need help sleeping
meh
I agree with several reviews that say it's a boring album. Some songs were pleasant, but I wouldn't listen to it again.
Laughably bland. This has nothing to say.
hadn't heard Wilco before, happy if I never do again, dreary crap.
Yesterday, Kacey Musgraves taught me that country-inspired singer-songwriter music can be good. Today, Wilco is teaching me just how bad alternative rock can be. The ingredients are the same as yesterday, just with the signs reversed: a singer with a boring voice who sings in an annoying way, “songs” you forget immediately after the last note, and a production that prioritizes effects (which are also poorly used) over a decent overall sound. Someone wrote that this album is just incredibly boring—but it’s worse than that: I’ve been listening to these guys for 50 minutes now, and all I can remember are random “sound effects.” You could call it art rock, I call it noise ****
Im not sure what did u just listen
not good
I got really bored. I can't believe this is from 2003. I get that there are bands that are trying to sound vintage, but why do they need to be included here if there is virtually NOTHING different from older bands that are on this list. Really, I am ok with new music that sounds vintage if it has at least something that anchors it to the modern age. This ain't it for me.
I wanted to tap out of this album less than two minutes into it, and nothing after that redeemed it. It's boring, and if you like it, I'm convinced you're a boring person.
Great, more depressing 2000's indie. This sounds like the cure for insomnia. Would it kill them to add some dynamics, or maybe a tempo change? Doldrums defined.
'Pot Kettle Black'. 'Radio Cure' but only just. In 'I'm the Man Who Loves You' I hear Beatles influence but it's a potentially good song that's been Wilco'd. 'Poor Places' is a good example of a song that starts well but goes off the rails. 'Experimental' indie is a genre fraught with risk and this proves why. It might be very accomplished instrumentally but it's dull and at times, annoying.
Awful moaning album
Incredibly boring and bland.
My guess is musicians will appreciate what is going on here. But, they lost me at the whistle.
Dire
ni lo pude terminar fr
Defintely a downer Talented but makes me down
Has this much fuss ever been made about such nothing music? The aural equivalent of a blank expression.
Radiohead from Temu dot com
Somewhat experimental and progressive folk that has a niche following. Not for me, but respect the sound and emotion
Lost the wilco to live
boring, nothing special abt it
Boring and generally unpleasant on the ears. Hopefully my eye will stop twitching soon if I listen to someone else who can actually sing.
I dont have much tk say
i honestly did not like this album. the rhythm is way too slow and i even felt like the beat was not working just felt like the words were spilling. obviously some songs are better than others but this is definitely not an album i would listen to.
1. heart - 1 2. kamera - 1 3. cure - 1 4. uuar - 0 5. jezuz - 1 6. flagz - 0 7. metal - 0 8. man -0 9. pot - 1 10. poor - 0 11. rezervationz - 1
Never been a fan of this band, this album being an embodiment of everything I don't like about this band. Quite a few artists that I like that are similar but not this group.
pas terminé très très boring
Not my vibe really. Too folky
geen fijne stem klinkt soms vals beetje saaie liedjes soms
Incredibly boring album. The entire thing is like a bad attempt at a radiohead song
so fkn boring
didnt care for this
I just can't with Wilco
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Considering that it hasn't been two weeks since we had to ensure the last Wilco album, this seems aggressively harsh even for this algorithm of auditory hatred. Look. This categorically sucks. It's the very definition of monotonous. The lyrics are shallow, repetitive, and poorly delivered. Often, the "music" devolves into garden variety noise. I'd be shocked by all the acclaim it's been given, but as I've pointed out before, the 00s were a trash decade where bad music was all you pretty much had to pick from, so perhaps this really was the best thing going at the time. *shudder* What a disturbing thought that was!
The creators of this list must love jerking it while listening to Wilco. I can’t see any other conceivable reason for them to be on here twice.
Not my style, new the Jesus song. Skipped most of them. Wasn't feeling it!
Indie sadboi twaddle. Didn’t make it through the whole album
No
Strange alternative. Not really connecting with me
Why is it that bands like these always have some of the worst vocalists in music history? I'm not saying the album wouldn't be shit with a capable singer, but it'd be somewhat digestible with one. It's like an even worse Radiohead, which I didn't think was possible. Jesus, etc. was the diamond in dog shit, caught me off guard a little bit amidst everything else.
Boring slow background noise
I have no clue what genre they were even aiming for here. It felt like indie, folk, noise, and whatever else all thrown in a blender with no real direction. I listened to it while driving for Thanksgiving, and I was honestly thankful when it was finally over. Nothing grabbed me, nothing stuck, and it just dragged the whole way through.
I know people love this band but I’ve just never been able to figure them out. The whole album is so glum (except for heavy metal drummer)
I've listend to this album yesterday and now I cannot remember anything about it. I guess it was quite boring
I got my photo taken by a member of Wilco at a museum Halloween party. It’s a great photograph. That’s all I have to say about Wilco.
This confirmed that Wilco is just a shitty band that writers like to reference as some “hip” thing. Truly a waste of my time and energy.
Slow and monotonous, another boring indie rock type album that nearly put me to sleep
I have given worse albums than this a two but I need to be more brutal. This just isn't compelling and I dont see how it could ever be
First song is stupid. Second is devoid of any originality or tunefulness whatsoever. Third is a waste of life. "War on War" sounds like an awful version of War On Drugs (great band). The rest of the songs are boring with nice moments overshadowed by noise. Now for a nap, please...
No me interesó.
sleepy, boring, I don’t really think those indies have anything meaningful to express, almost a piece of shit making nonsense
Did not like this album really at all. I'm just not an indie rock fan. None of these songs stuck with me and it all just sounded meh. Definitely not for me.
not my cuppa
I did not like this album at all. The melancholy feel just wasn't for me. I was finding it hard to get through the entire thing just to say that I did. I'll rate it one star because I have to rate it.
Low energy, boring, and downright sloppy at times. Juvenile lyrics with zero substance. Odd mix of ambience and whiny country that does not land for me at all. Would honestly give zero stars if I could
Puke. I have the lowest tolerance in the world for twee bullshit. I've said it before and I'll say it again, just plug in the electric guitar guys. Somewhere in here is Built to Spill's seventh best album and thus a 4/5 album
This is exactly the type of mundane shit that makes me want to delete this app.
I did not like this album, although I was not able to actually complete it. Found it quite formulaic and boring. Tv commercial music?
So boring. Sleep inducing even.
1 out of 5 This was too slow for me.
Meh
A sad and introspective view of someone with a big ego and nothing new to say.
this album sucks!!!!! SORRY I WAS BORED LMAO
I’m starting to believe the people who created this list are all clinically depressed. Awful, not enjoyable whatsoever.
People love this but it's so slow. Camera pans slowly through a midwestern run down bar. Patrons are smoking and lightly chatting. The lights are low and sunlight streams in through dirty windows, picking up traces of dust in the air. Everyone is sad.
Gnade. Nicht noch ein "Alternative Rock" Album.
It's not 'bad' bad. It does do absolutely nothing for me though. I guess I can see how some might find it charming.
Boring.
fucking whining
Ok
Gillar inte sångrösten än så länge. Stängde av efter 5 låtar. Tråkigt, generiskt. Finns inget för mig
Blimey, that was dull ... 3/10
Kids shown monotone and boring to be honest. I really wanted to like this one but just couldn’t get into it.
👎🏻
Lacklustre, unhinged and messy
-chaotic - Not melodic - Melody out of touch with the vocal - trying to break your heart is awful listening to - rest ist okay, but would rather listen to other albums
Didn’t like it.
1.5/10 Out of all the albums so far, this was not what I was expecting to get my first 1 star rating. I nearly fell asleep at the wheel with this project. Everything felt so disconnected while listening and I couldn’t find barely anything that I liked. The cover is bland just like the music. Some songs straight up made me skip them, which I don’t do often. Probably won’t be listening to this again.
Boring. Dear Lord so boring. I could have watched paint dry and it would have been more musically interesting.
Plain and boring, it doesn't even work as elevator music. 3/10
Didn’t enjoy; Not my style of music and didn’t like the singers voice
Not my cup of tea.
This album does nothing for me. Sounds like a budget Elliott Smith.
I hate the Yankees.
Unremarkable 1/5
it’s not for me
So, this is Pavement when they “grow up” right? A little more country and more mellow? I think this one is very overrated. I’d much rather listen to “No Depression” by Uncle Tupelo.
Can’t lie, I couldn’t even finish the whole album. The melodramatic misery that I just put myself through for 30 minutes gave me a headache. This website could probably become 1000 generated albums and get rid of this one.
standard meh American indie "rock"
Unbearably boring
Blah
I do not know what the hype about Wilco is all about. Super depressing, uncomfortable vibe; tuneless meanderings through maudlin manchild minutiae.
I went into this album knowing nothing about Wilco, and expecting noise music or experimental rock. There was almost some hint of that, but not nearly enough to overcome the whiny, boring, indie rock sound.
Not my cup of tea
Looking them up on Wikipedia: they sound really up themselves. Listening to this album: they sound really up themselves.
Honestly an absolute chore to get through - this was certainly the ar retype of mopey indie boys tell you about nothing much in the most irritating tangy manner. I was told while listening to this that their Wikipedia page says "not to be confused with [UK hardware store] Wilko", and honestly would rather be buying mediocre garden furniture than listening to this album again.
This is soulless and aimless pap. Hated the delivery and annunciation throughout. At times, it sounds a bit like Eels, Flaming Lips, early Beck, but pales in comparison. The overall production is pretty good. Not an album or artist that resonates with me I'm afraid.
Wilco is ok but not this album.
I'm not likely to listen again.
Sounds like a Grateful Dead Jr. Very mellow. So mellow it borders on being boring. Not my favorite but I didn’t hate it.
I don't know if I was in a bad mood or what, but I just found this album to be very boring.
Nope. This is sooooo not my type of music.
These guys can kiss my ass. So painfully boring. Horrid singing and weird instrumentals immediately bum you out from the first song and remind you with each track throughout. Imagine being signed to a record contract and you release this lmao. 2/10.
Didn't like the singer's voice and it sounds over produced and too much going on. No heart or soul, just noise to me.
One word: yawn.
What a waste of time. There is nothing good about this album. My cat writes more interesting songs.
Not for me. 1/5
Did not like it. One of those hipster albums... next
Americans trying to sound like Brit rock. Shit.
Boring
Pretentious and boring just like most indie rock
No thoughts idk what that was
Dreary

Don't like his voice
Dullcore.
Bravo Oscar Romeo India November Golf
Not a Wilco guy
Just like the previous Wilco album I have trouble understanding this album it’s so boring and yet mysteriously popular. Hope it’s the last Wilco on the list.
Like Beck and Radiohead came together, led by one of the most dull, boring lead vocalists on the list.
One interesting track Boring af

Beefing with your label so hard you leave and stream the album for free on your website is extremely punk rock but unfortunately the sound is just boring. It further suffers from Jeff Tweedy possibly being the name of my junior high friend (redacted)'s shithead stepdad who would tell her she "didn't deserve to be a Tweedy" when she misbehaved, like there was any social cachet involved whatsoever. I always thought this would be a much more compelling threat if it was Tweety, because at the time Looney Tunes were still fairly relevant in teen and adult popular culture.
yawn
Bring music. No hits.
Reprise called it right when they refused to release this. Impressive studio work only gets you so far when you're working with weak songs, and I'd argue that Tweedy and Bennett's disjointed songwriting process bore some half-baked goods here.
Saw the album and had bad memories…
I'm not into indie rock so this was not for me
Not for me 1/5
This was a bummer of an album. Kind of like washed up hippies. I didn't get it.
This pretty much sucks. Depressive feeling sorry for myself lyrics with lousy cry baby singing (whining)over weak music. Who listens to this crap?
Bleh, very monotone
