I'm really not a fan of Le Tigre. The vocals just feel like the singer wasn't even hitting notes properly and that was mostly what helped it get so annoying. The lyrics are also non-sensical in a majority of the songs (especially on What's Yr Take on Cassavetes and Dude, Yr So Crazy!) They really need to know that saying random words at random times are not proper song lyrics. The music is actually fine throughout the majority of the album and probably the best part but there were songs that tanked in that regard too. The album thankfully is mercifully short at around only 2 or 3 minutes for every song. This album might not be as bad as the other 1 star albums i have looked at but it is still far from good. Nothing original here. Seems like I’ve heard this clone before but with better execution. Repetitive and monotone. Seems like it was someone’s HS music class project. What criteria got this album on a list of ‘must listen’? I had to force myself to listen to at least part of each song on my commitment to the list.

Probably great live show, but as an album it’s mostly noise. Their later album “This Island” is better.

This album sounds like Cyndi Lauper and Black Flag had a baby that wasn’t that talented, and tried to make a record that was influenced 60’s pop. I’ll pass…. 1.5/5

I think there’s almost always some redeeming traits in any kind of music. This album tested that. Vocals are terrible. Instruments at times are ok. This is just bad music though. 1 star.

I dislike this, I don’t think there is very much talent on here at all. Bad singing, very simple drum programming, super basic guitar playing - they are not good musicians, but… it is kind of catchy. Question is, do I hate it enough to give it a one? Yes! It’s awful and I hate it.
I did not care for this at all. Feels like I'm on the outside looking in and I just dont "get it." I'll chalk it up to a lack of understanding but I had to stop and start so many times because it was annoying to get through.

First half was just not my thing, sounded awful to me. Got to Bedroom Dancing and thought it was a great song, grew optimistic and was ready to rate it higher, but the song immediately after and the rest of the album reminded me why I wanted to give it a 1 star rating. Couldn't enjoy it apart from the one song.
It's weird, music is OK, but vocals spoil it. Also why have they got a dog barking in one song. Also a lot of the song they just repeat the same lyrics over and over and it's really annoying Not sure what I listened to but won't be coming back here again. Feel a little bad giving this 1 star probably would have got 1.5 if that were an option

Can't hold a tune and at times I wondered if they could even hold their instruments. Says nothing, does nothing, means nothing. And stop fucking shouting.
Terrible. Felt like each song has ten to twenty or so unique seconds just looped over and over again. Short album but it felt like it took epochs to get through.
2000s type girl-punk band. Not really my style.

Album cover looks like it's gonna be DIY alterna-punk, likely with a feminist bent. Yep, it's DIY punk. It seems to celebrate the fact no one put any time or effort in learning how to play, write songs or record an album. Zero musical value. Standard feminist theme where the base male "type" is misogynist, the sort of snarky shit that loves saying "not all men, eh? Spoken like a real fucking bigot". 1/5.
Really tough listen. Didn’t enjoy nearly every aspect of this record. Will not be giving it a re-listen.

The samples are kind of funny and weird, but that’s the best thing I can say about it. Punk music is super boring to me. When the songwriting, performance, and production are all done at such a low level it’s really hard to find anything to be excited about
How the hell did this make the list & not a single Bikini Kill album? I've tried to get into Le Tigre since 1999, but I just can't stand them musically. I'll take Bikini Kill's "Reject All American," "Pussy Whipped" or "The C.D. Version of the First Two Records" any day over Le Tigre. 1/5: I couldn’t make it all the way through the album.
Laughing all the way to the bank with that advert deal. Forget what it was advertising but know this song. Classic 90s. A mix of past genres with a bit of a wank result. Albums like this are why people thought the world was going to end on Y2K. SoT Deceptacon The the Empty Phanta 1/5

Wat een schijt vervelend album echt bizar. Je hoort bijna aan hun stem hoe vet ze het zelf vinden wat ze gemaakt hebben en dat maakt me eigenlijk gewoon kwaad. Dacht halverwege even o nu wordt het beter maar nee hoor!!
On paper, I should love this. But I had a hard time getting through it. Every instinct this record has goes against my own. I might enjoy the guitar lines if they were tighter and less out of tune. I might like the vocals if the default delivery wasn’t a half-sung/half-screamed caterwaul. I might enjoy some of these songs if the first riff wasn’t repeated ad nauseam without variation. What’s a guy gotta do to get a good hook around here? And if I’m supposed to stick around for the lyrics, why is the music so unrelentingly bland? It’s kinda punk, it’s kinda dance, it’s kinda pop, yet it’s not enough of any of these things. At its worst, it’s the most sterile kind of punk/dance/pop. Heard this done better, no need to return to it. I listened to 2 minutes of Bikini Kill afterwards to compare and it’s no contest. Listen to Bikini Kill.

i’ve heard one of these songs from tik tok and i quite liked that little snippet however when i heard this album it was awful, it was all screaming and not good voices.

It’s a pop/punk 90s album led by females. I can see how people Like it or how people Could say it’s good, but it is not for me. Sometimes annoying, sometimes Whiny, sometimes good but very seldom. 3.0/10

Post punk / garage rock made to sound amateur on purpose, generally unauthentic and annoying. In context the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s released their debut album a couple of years later, may as well be light years! A couple of ok tunes but not for me!
