The hits are great but the rest of it is a bit meh. Luckily the album is very hits heavy. Great start to the record as well!! Controversially I actually do not like Harry’s voice - to the point I think it ruins some songs. Sounds like she needs to sneeze and can’t get it out… look at a bright light Debbie works every time!
The singles are great, and the album starts so strongly I wasn't sure why I had decided to delete it from my library at some point. Then the rest of the album happened and I remembered - there are a few other good tracks but really a best of blondie is all you need.
It was fine I guess. Her vocals aren't my favorite, but she's one of the only women who was willing to try and saw any success. I think there's better music out there, but I respect the hustle.
I am not a fan. Heart of Glass was maybe the only good song here. Nothing is actually that bad, but nothing makes me want to listen again.
Powerful lady, powerful voice. Sunday girl gave me grew up christian. Ik I dont know made me think of a different song that had an extra tune in it, diff lyrics ofc but I can't recall what song. Gotta learn all the lyrics to heart of glass. The base song is surprisingly delivered way different than the 12" version. 7/10
Very solid record, there's a couple of duds but I do love the new wave records where they're doing all sorts, the band kills all the different styles they try out
‘Blondie is a group’ was this bands mantra, which then is a bit weird to call yourselves ‘Blondie’ when the only blond is the lead singer. However, so the story goes, manager Peter Leeds deceived the band. They only discovered when they received the finished product that he had made an executive choice and used his ‘concept’ version of the front cover to be printed - they fell out big time. This, the third album became their big breakthrough and enabled the band to jettison Peter Leeds for a more respectful manager. He wouldn’t have cared as under their written termination agreement, Leeds was entitled to post-term commissions on the band's gross earnings from pre-1985 works and existing contracts, netting him millions over the years. Lettering: Jerry Rodriguez (Sources Farout, Q mag, Justia, Discogs) We all bought this, we all fancied Debbie Harry, no-one knew the names of any of the boys in the band, we all thought it was all about her. We were all a bit disappointed in the album.
The hits are brilliant, the rest is not for me. The songs that we all know and love leave a mark, with fantastic songwriting, delivery and charm - making them genuinely unforgettable. But I can't help but feel that 70% of the album is average and lacking the standout factor. There's nothing ‘bad’ about it whatsoever but this record surprised me with how middling I found it. 6/10.

you know, i've grown tired of One Way or Another after its liberal use in mediocre comedies, but it really works well in the context of this album. this probably fucked super hard after it came out. it's the late 70s all rolled up into one glorious burst of hooks. i personally think it's a bit filler-heavy, but the highs are really high. deserves to be one of the 1001? yeah

Surprised to find myself not liking this much! The hits are huge and the references are broad, but much of the album feels flat. Debbie Harry is a great front woman, there's some inventiveness and it zigs when I expect it to zag but overall, I just left feeling like I'd eaten a cheap meal that left me just as hungry as when I started. Drums sound great, though, and bookending the hits really keeps this afloat.
Pretty good, fun, pop album. Couple of good hits and a number of fun bass lines. Would definitely relisten, don't necessarily see it as a go to album.

Blondie's great! Don't think I've ever heard this one in full actually. Heart of Glass is one of my favorite pop songs of all time, so it was a treat finally hearing the whole record. Unfortunately, the record as a whole didn't completely connect with me, but there's some absolutely fantastic tracks on here.

Что касается Parallel Lines - тут собраны кажется самые яркие и понятные простому обывателю хиты. Это их самый главный альбом и я питаю к нему большое уважение как к уверенному и солидному альбому переходного периода 70х-80х да и еще с сильным женским вокалом. Но, я не назову его одним из своих любимых альбомов в 70х. Для меня этот альбом посередине можно «нормально» и «хорошо», но в тоже время я понимаю что он 100% лучше чем добрая половина альбомов которые встретятся мне еще в этом списке. Плюс тут есть действительно хорошие треки такие как Picture This, Fade Away and Radiate и Heart Of Glass
4-5/10 closer to five but yeah not my cup of tea. I like the singer, however there's something lacking I think it's usually the accompaniment or the lyrics/ the delivery feels off. The best example that does it well is probably "One Way or Another" where they both intermingle, although the song is heavy overused in other media it's still an alright piece. But perhaps that's part of my issue, that is there are plenty of times that said intermingling seems forced. All in all as individual pieces it's good but all together it all starts to feel a little samey.

This is a great album but for whatever reason it's not something I'll come back to. I think it's just a little bit too far before my time, just enough that I can't get attached to it.
Listened to this while working on assignments, but really enjoyed it. Sick rock instrumentals and solos and a groovy vibe, really reminds me of my mum. This whole album has that kinda tongue and cheek sarcastic mood, but has some really upbeat songs too. Top song: Hangin on the telephone, perfect start to a great album. solid 7.5/10.
It's funny - I've heard Blondie songs around but never sat down and listened to them. I'd also always thought One Way or Another was by someone else - maybe Joan Jett? Overall like this - would listen again. Followup listen: The Bad Plus cover of Heart of Glass.

I was really ready to like this one a lot more, considering the spectacular hits from this album that I've been hearing for basically my whole life. However, I didn't care for the rockabilly influences and found the rest of the album beyond these hits kind of forgettable. I imagine this hit a lot harder in 1978 with its genre-bending. Sorry Debbie, you're a legend, but this just didn't hit for me. Favorite tracks: Hanging On The Telephone, Heart Of Glass
A few bops, and I definitely would own on vinyl. The sound today feels marginally unique, but during release I would have had this on blast while driving everywhere.

The song "Heart of Glass" has been completely destroyed by that TikTok trend. Just brutal. Some really big hits on this record, but the rest of it just doens't hold up. A lot of drab songwriting with not a lot to back it up. Mid 2.9/5

There are some absolute classics on this album
Fantastic album with a lot of unmemorable songs and a few phenomenal jams that even out to a near 4 star album. It’s really good, but the songs that stand out, notably “One Way Or Another” and “Heart Of Glass” are so many miles above the rest of the album that it’s hard to say this is a low 4. I don’t know, it’s close. Blondie is a really fun singer, but none of these songs particularly blow me away. Now, don’t get me wrong, I freaking LOVE Debbie Harry, the lead singer. Some of her other songs that aren’t even on this album like “Rapture” and “Call Me” have been stuck in my head since the moment I heard them. However, much like Bowie, there’s a lot of filler to get to the good stuff. Noted, it’s pretty good filler, but it’s largely just set dressing for the better songs on the album. I really do feel guilty giving this 3 stars, and I may come back to it later to adjust it to a low 4. Upon further review, unfortunately I’m going to keep it as a 3. There’s just not enough bangers to warrant putting it any higher. Again, don’t get it mistaken, I still love Blondie, and this album didn’t even remotely disappoint me. It just isn’t really a banger from top to bottom, and it needs to be to have a higher rating. Still though, I wouldn’t really skip any of these songs. They’re all good, and from song to song the variety is also quite good and varied. There are a lot of different blended genres here, and for better and worse, they make the album very unique and fun. My personal favorite of the bunch is obviously going to have to be “One Way Or Another”. What a classic. Easily stuck in my head and will remain stuck in my head until I hear another certified banger classic at some point during this project. Could that be tomorrow?? We’ll see. For now, this is a really good, charming, fun album, and I wish I could give it a higher rating. If the site had more than just 1-5 stars, this would be a 3.9, and I’d feel a whole lot less guilty about only giving it a 3.
I appreciate that she was making moves in the rock world. And I like her sound, but she doesn't have that umph that makes me want to buy her album. I can only assume it's more the genre than the band.

This album was like whipped cream for me. It’s fun, light, and tasty; I could probably eat a lot more of it, but no matter how much I eat, it’s not going to provide a substantial meal for me. I don’t hate whipped cream, but I want a proper meal when I’m hungry.
Enjoyed a few of the singles. Didn’t hate it.
A classic album. One Way or Another brings me memories of my childhood. The melody of fade away and radiate made me really focus in to what was happening musically.
Dear record companies, please stop reissuing the same album with different tracks on it. No love, me.

Heart of Glass is the obvious star of the album. Let this one play aloud as I did tasks and it all sounded pretty similar. Will have to revisit in the future out of respect for Debbie Harry.
ok well Im... intrigued? Possibly? I didn't realize Blondie did hearts of glass, which is ICONIC! but still it felt like background music in a Canadian steakhouse while the candles are lit. Drink: keeping with the setting maybe a slightly soured glass of grape juice that has got some ketchup in it accidentally.

I didn't love every song on this album but I've loved Heart of Glass since high school... it's very nostalgic to me now and I still love it so much. The sounds of this album really remind me of Rocky Horror Picture show and sound like they'd be good in a halloween movie LOL.

I could do a lot worse than Blondie on a Monday. However, I wanted to like this album more than I did. Maybe I overhyped what my first Blondie album experience would be like. "One Way or Another" and "Heart of Glass" are fantastic but I found that the other songs were just ok (with the exception of the last 2). 3/5

This album sounds like a summer day at the water park. I like that a lot. Melodies are earworms for sure, but I'm not sure why. The chorus for Pretty Baby, for example, is SO annoying, but I'm singing it hours after listening to it. The simplicity maybe? There are a lot of chanters but that's not a bad thing. I dunno. I do like the album overall. Hey, y'know? Uh I- I dunno. 3.

This is just plain good-spirited music. She can sing and most of the songs make a good feel. Unfortunately though a song played at the end, and I thought "hey this is their best one yet" but it was actually a diff artist (Hole).

the album had nice punk-pop upbeat energy, but the white girl music in it was more then prominent. in my opinion, its a great album with interesting ideas that can appeal both to great audience through the pop influences and also demanding listeners, through its tasteful blend of pop and punk the album is not for my casual listening but i can see myself listening to it on a 80s party

Another album that seems to date from a time when record producers were saying, you have a couple amazing singles, let's just go ahead and put out a whole album! I mean to kick off with "Hanging on the Telephone" and "One Way or Another" is amazing and it's understandably difficult to maintain that level of pop nirvana. By the third song we're rhyming "wallet" with "solid" and "December" with "weather" and I'm starting to feel that disappointment kick in. The hits are terrific. The rest of this is just rushed nonsense that should never have been committed to vinyl.
Me gustó mucho el álbum; a veces es necesario regresar a esas melodías retro para entrar en un buen ambiente. Bastantes canciones que fueron utilizadas en películas y que han marcado una época. Me gustan mucho este tipo de álbumes con los que te puedes poner a bailar con cualquier canción de él.
It gets points for being one of the pioneers in the whole pop rock/power pop sound, and it certainly has the energy, but this is just another example for me that just confirms the notion of "just because you were the first doesn't mean you're the best". I can just think of more modern bands that take inspiration from the best parts of this and do it way better. Still though, it's enjoyable enough. 3/5

Can see how it is influential and how it should be viewed as a product of the time it was recorded. The foundations of so much rock and punk that later came along. That said, not my jam. Can’t explain why.

A classic rock/pop album a great album of its time.
I assumed I would like it less than I did because I’m not a huge fan of the big singles from the album. But tracks like Fade Away and Radiate and 11:59 were quite good. There’s something extra nostalgic about Blondie’s sound.
The lyrics for the first two songs are kind of aggro. Guitars are reminiscent of a great day on the Banzai Pipeline. Favorite song on this album was Fade Away and Radiate, feels kind of like being high. Just Go Away is hilarious.

A poptimist and a punk walk into a bar. on karaoke night. The second that the punk, sitting alone, hears that timeless drum beat, he finishes his heavy-handed gulp of Yeungling and lets out the type of groan that pains you and everyone around you, as he willed it into existence. This catches the attention of the poptimist, who wonders how someone could be so aggrevated at such a timeless song. "Oh gee I don’t know. Maybe because it’s because these fucking dopes thought. Oh you know what would be funny? What if we opened our pseudo-punk masterpiece with the corniest CR-78 pattern ever??? It’s an emblem of the rain of shit that would cloud the 80s. Punks thinking they’re too good. So they put on a suit. Tale as old as time and call it “pop.” And Blondie, they were the first. The Poptimist does not know what a Roland CR-78 drum machine is, or that it was set to the "samba" preset. "These fucking-" says the punk, about to invole the Unholy Word, revealing more veins than Chapter 7 in an BIO 201 textbook, "SELLOUTS" "WOAH WOAH WOAH" "ITS TRUE!! They tried so hard to write a hit, and every time time they failed, they album suffered. If you’re a punk, you can get away with writing a shit song because at least you’ll be still be saying SOMETHING" The Poptimist, sipping his Negroni served out of a coupe glass, replies "Did I just hear a punk complaining about a band not being Album-oriented-" "Don’t twist my words. Over half of Parallel Lines FAILED! One of the five good songs is a COVER!!!! Of a REAL-" Both men are shouting at each other so loudly that not a single person in the bar can hear that I haven’t hit a single note. It is barely the third verse. "This album is supposed to be a $3 steal in the discount bins at the local record store, but because they used to play at CBGB, they’re rock fucking royalty." "OH SO WHAT ABOUT THE RAMONES THEN?!! THEY MIGHT AS WELL HAVE THE LETTERS OMFUG TATTOOED ON THEIR COCKS!! DID THEY HAVE MUCH OF SUBSTANCE TO SAY?!" "THE RAMONES HAD THE RAUCOUS PUNK ATTITUDE TO BACK UP THEIR POP-" "AND THEY STILL SUCK" “ROBERT FRIPP PLAYED ON THE ALBUM FOR CHRIST SAKE!! THAT SHOULD BE PROOF ENOUGH-“ Both of these men have been going to the same bar for 40 years. It never occurs to them that they are both incredibly gay and desperately want to have sex with each other.

Through this project, I’ve learned that it’s sometimes hard to tell whether an album is truly influential or just generic—especially when it comes to eras I don’t remember. Technically, it’s the editor’s job to make that call. But after 250 albums, I can say that he’s only done a limited job of it. Let’s move on to today’s candidate: Blondie with “Parallel Lines.” This is exactly how I imagine late ’70s pop-rock—somewhere in the no-man’s-land between traditional dance music, NDW, and New Wave. Kind of nice, but way too tame for my taste. The best part of the version linked on Spotify are the live recordings, which actually don’t belong to “Parallel Lines.” Yes, “Parallel Lines” probably has to be on a list like this, but I find it mediocre.
Incredible vocal performances. Great mix for the time. Timeless songwriting and sound, feels nostalgic at times but not old and dusty at all. Great energy even in the slower paced songs. Some of the songs are a little too sparkly/happy-go-lucky for my personal taste, but overall it is still a great album with a lot of hits (one of them being the evergreen Heart of Glass of course). Also, it is interesting to hear their punk roots come through in some songs as well.

The album is getting a mixed review. The songs that rock are great and the songs have a 50s and 60s pop and aren't that good. But it's Deborah Harry! ☺️ The guitar player, Frank Infante is good.

I have 6 liked songs by Blondie prior to this - with 2 of them from this album - the radio songs "One Way or Another", and "Heart of Glass". I don't think I've ever done a deep dive on this though. I just liked the songs I knew. After 3 listens... "Hanging on the Telephone" - oh yeah, I remember this one too - pretty good song. "Picture This" - pretty cool "Fade Away and Radiate" - interesting because it has a more unique sound, both musically and vocally, compared to the other songs on this album. Perhaps the addition of Robert Fripp on guitar contributed to this. I think this is my favorite song on this album. "I Know, But I Don't Know" - also a bit different than the other songs on this album - in a good way. "Sunday Girl" - fun song, even cooler that it's about their cat that ran away I ended up liking the 5 songs mentioned above, in addition to the 2 I already liked. Solid album - will like hearing these songs pop up on my playlists. Liked songs on Spotify: 7/12 Rating: 3/5

No se si es mi estilo de música, tiene temaaaazos como One Way or Another y Heart of Glass que son re conocidos. Hubieron otros que no había escuchado antes como Sunday Girl y I’m gonna love you too que me dieron vibes a Grease. 11:59 me gustó, same con Will Anything Happen (en la letra más que nada), pero siento que a veces no entiendo que esta queriendo decir y eso no ayuda a que realmente disfrute las canciones

A couple really catchy songs, a few decent ones and several meh songs. A fun listen but overall, not an album I’ll likely go back to.
One Way or Another is, of course, a classic, and a couple were pretty good towards the end, but I didn't care for most of it. Only giving it 3 because of the OWOA
I expect a bit more, but this was a standard, although fun, pop rock classic.
I enjoyed this a lot. I was sleeping on Blondie. The whole band sounds amazing here

I knew and like a couple of songs on this album.
Decent songwriting and vocals. The whole thing showcases Debbie’s vocals very well. Instrumentation is sounds locked in the 70s with highlights of disco, early punk and rock. Not a bad album. Heart of Glass is a classic. 3.2/5.0
Some classics on here, but the rest doesn’t stand out all that much
There are four songs on here that really stand out for me, and the album starts strong and ends strong with two of those songs. That being said, aside from the four standout songs, the rest of the songs kind of blur inbetween with forgettable melodies and weak vocals (sorry Debbie). I appreciate that Debbie Harry is iconic and paved the way for our 80s, 90s and 00s pop stars - for example you can see a LOT of Blondie influence in Madonna's early work. I also prefer the songs with Debbie where she's not trying so hard and she almost talking-singing with a deeper voice - suits her better in my own untrained and untalented opinion (how easy it is to critique others when I myself cannot sing). I want to give this album 3.5 stars but can't. I'm not sure if it deserves 4 stars, because I probably wouldn't listen to this album again (that's my own criteria for 4 stars). It deserves 3.5, but I can only rate it 3 due to the system limitations. Good album, some solid tracks on here.

Blondie gör i sina bästa stunder spetsig och väldigt effektiv powerpop. Bäst när det blir lite dansant och svängigt, som Sunday girl, Picture this och framförallt Heart of glass.

Sonido pop de la época, con temazos iconicos como Heart of Glass y One Way Or Another (tema que conocí gracias a 1D, a banger!) Me gusta como ella usa su voz rasposa en algunas partes específicas de las canciones, le da mucha personalidad y es algo diferente. Mi favorita es Heart Of Glass claramente, ME ENCANTA! (y ya la conozco bastante). De las demás, me gustó mucho Picture This. Después también están buenas 11:59 y Sunday Girl.
Knew the two hits but I like them already, rest unremarkable, might be higher rated if I hadn’t heard hits. M’s dont go away mad is a lyric from this.
Im prety sure ive seen this cover before. Sounds like nice pop rock. Its fun. Heart of glass is a great song obvioualy. Easily the highlight. Its good, id give it a 3.5 if I could.
The album has some classic songs like hanging on the telephone but also the more experimental songs of which I am not a big fan.

Oh come on 1001 albums generator, since it's St. Patty's day, you know that this was a very missed opportunity to give me an album with green on the album art. Anyways, jokes aside, I thought that Parallel Lines was a pretty solid album. I only really know Blondie from the really popular songs of theirs including Call Me, Heart Of Glass, and One Way Or Another (The latter two are off this album and the latter of those two i didn't know was by Blondie until i listened to this). This album reeks of 1978 which makes sense because that's when it released but i did enjoy the mix of disco and rock music. It may not hit as hard as some of my favorite rock albums but i still liked this one a fair bit. Best Song: 11:59 Worst Song: I'm Gonna Love You Too

I don't know, like, on one hand I really enjoy how unique and cutting edge this album is, but then on the other hand, it feels like it is missing something and doesn't get me to the next level. I love the synthesisers, I like the odd time signatures, the guitars are great, drums are full. Her singing is pretty good. The songwriting I feel like is OK, lyrics aren't that great, songs don't feel much above low budget garage rockers, wonder if they would have been famous with an unattractive lead singer. It's OK, I've just heard much better.

Not a huge fan of older pop songs but there were a few good ones. Probably wouldn’t listen again though.
For the most part, I knew what to expect here (which isn’t a bad thing). Nevertheless, I did get one surprise at the end: I’d never head “Once I Had A Love (AKA The Disco Song)” before. It’s pretty transparently an alt version of “Heart Of Glass” and I might like it more? Maybe that’s because I’ve heard HOG so many times that this just feels fresh. Who knows. Unfortunately I can’t listen to “One Way Or Another” without hearing Angelica Pickles from Rugrats, and that spoils one of this album’s anchor tracks for me. Anyways, as a fan of punk history, I think this is great and wish there were even more women in punk. Not quite enough saxophones to be on the same level as X-Ray Spex, but pretty close. Also, that Angelica thing really kills my ability to play this record start-to-finish.
It’s my birthday today, so I’ll try to keep this review brief. I’ve obviously heard “Heart of Glass” and “One Way or Another” before (thanks, TV commercials), but they were never my favorite ‘70s hits and I didn’t even realize they were by Blondie until today. Parallel Lines was perfectly middle-of-the-road for me – there may have been no tracks I absolutely loved, but there were some great moments scattered about and I never truly hated what I was hearing. Easily one of the better new wave albums I’ve had to listen to! Highlights: One Way or Another, Picture This, Pretty Baby, I Know but I Don’t Know, 11:59, Heart of Glass, I’m Gonna Love You Too
first album I bought on vinyl when I started collecting and is still a regular play. I love Debbie Harry !!
I liked the second half much more than the first, but I still just don’t like it very much.

Pure blonde bliss with bangers to this date.
I’m going to have to say it; the shouted backing vocals on “Just Go Away” sound like they’re from Fraggle Rock. Otherwise, iconic album. Debbie Harry’s vocals are exceptional throughout. Musically strong set overall and it contributes to my view that that period in New York must have been one of the most musically fertile of all time.
It was okay. Got a bit bored towards the end. I think it’s great for a certain mood. Energetic and fun but only at the right time. Otherwise it’s not something special.

A classic 80s rock album. Very enjoyable listen but definitely a bit dated. Very good singer.
Blondie albums aren’t my cup of tea, I’ve always found them to be a stronger single band. Some songs stuck out to me, though, like 11:59. Very middle of the road

I liked this album more than I thought I would. The songs are pretty simple, but they’re catchy and have a little edge to them. I was just happy that Rapture wasn’t on this album. Man I hate that song.
Blondie does the upbeat Rock & Roll so much better than they do the slower jams. One Way or Another and Heart of Glass steal this album without debate but there are a couple of honorable mentions worthy of listening to as well. A good example of late 70’s/early 80’s rock.
Upbeat and more pop than I expected. A fun listen. No strong feelings to pull me far from center in either direction.
Blondie is kick ass! she did it all. Banging out shows at CBGBs entertaining the punks then pivoting and banging out shows on the Muppet Show stage for future punks. Couple classic we know and love on here, but the entire album is quality and Blondies voice shines.

Great drums, awesome lyrics, seemed a bit like songs for a musical at certain points. 6.2/10
Has its moments... But in between I can't find much to love.
While some catchy tunes, there is an over amount of repetition in many of the tracks that makes even the shorter songs feel dragged out. The lead singer has so really strong vocals, and there are some great instrumental segments as well. I would listen to this in a car on the background, but not seek it out directly. 2.5/5

Some great tunes, some I knew, some were brand new.
This is a good album. Every track has it's own distinct sound, but they come together to make a cohesive collection of songs. I find myself torn on how to rate this album, It's an objectively good album. However, I don't see myself replaying it all that often, and I think that is the reason I'm giving it this rating. Three stars. (Favorite track: Heart of Glass.)

liked a lot more than i thought i would. think that the hits (one thing or another, heart of glass) are overrated, but was surprised at the depth of the musicality, especially on "Fade Away and Radiate" and "Picture This". Reminded me at times musically of Oasis or the Smiths, but with an interesting added dimension of the female vocals.

Would have been 2 stara except for Heart of Glass and One Way or Another. The rest was filler for me.
Some of these songs are pretty good. Others sound quite generic. Perhaps it’s because after all these years there have been a lot of copycats. For me it’s a perfect 3 - good, but doesn’t stand out in any way.
Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood, but I did not like this album as much as I thought I would. I am tired and it’s a super yucky cold rainy day. Anyway, although this was only 39 minutes it felt a lot longer and I couldn’t really get into it. Standout song: Heart of Glass - sure, I e heard it heaps before but it’s a gem. The rest? Meh. 01-11-2026

Fun listen. Of course Heart of Glass is fantastic, but it’s far from the only solid track on here. Overall, fun listen that I’ll come back to, but I don’t feel compelled to come back right away.

All of these songs felt slightly too fast and made me a bit on edge. Definitely some good songs but the live tracks were definitely unneeded.
I like the disco version Once I Had a Love (1978)
Heart of glass! Sunday girl! One way or another! Okay yes these are the classics…but for a reason! I will say that I perhaps didn't give this my full attention when listening and found that I wasn't as interested in the songs that hadn't been huge hits.
85/1001 First listen. I know two of these singles well. Never took an interest beyond that. This was one of the more enjoyable unheard albums to come from this list. I’m not so sure I’ll ever play it again though. Reluctantly three stars. 5/10
Amazing
Easy to listen to since I was in highschool when this album came out. The new wave thing crashed pretty quickly but the album bears all the transition be of the times: disco, pop, rock, and punk lite, her aspirations for being a girl rock band didn't quite but her lyrics were true to her vision; what I might call transfemetive. Not that girl but a new kind of of woman who is comfortable wanting the same things as the "Sunday Girl" buy different.

C'est encore un album qui est pas trop mon truc, donc mon avis est pas trop pointu, mais j'ai bien apprécié l'écoute, même si j'ai pas l'intention d'y revenir prochainement. Par contre, j'ai encore eu un moment "ah, mais c'est eux qui jouent ça ?" avec Heart of Glass, que j'avais déjà entendu plein de fois sans savoir le nom de la chanson ni qui la jouait. Et j'avoue, rien que pour ça, c'est intéressant d'écouter les 1089 albums.

Okay, obviously Blondie is iconic and they have so so many catchy tunes and lines... but getting through this album felt like a hard task all day. Maybe it was because I was pretty busy and felt like I couldn't really feel all of what was given to me as I was driving down a busy street. Maybe I truly just didn't like it like I thought I would. It's definitely not a favorite. I came out of it feeling like I do understand Blondie a bit better as a band... and there are a few songs that I really liked. The time between those songs felt a bit agonizing, though, because many of their songs were looooong or too repetitive. Again, maybe this Blondie album was just not the one for me. That's okay. I still love them.

I’ve always been largely indifferent toward Blondie. It’s fine if it’s on, but I don’t search out Blondie’s music and it doesn’t do a whole lot for me. Parallel Lines, probably the best of their work, still doesn’t do a whole lot for me. I don’t hate it or anything, and I’d say there’s even some stuff about it that I like, but it doesn’t really make me want to hear any more Blondie than I have to. For me, it’s decent but forgettable. 3/5

on a first listen, can’t say i love this or that it does anything for me but it’s a good, solid album. maybe it would hit better in a different mood, i don’t know. the song i really liked was ’11:59’. ‘one way or another’ - i’ve kind of heard it too much without probably actually hearing it too much. ‘heart of glass’ was a song i knew but never knew who made it so that was a fun surprise. i want to say that ’just go away’ sounds familiar? 3.5/5 🌕🌕🌕🌗

Not bad, a few good songs. Not sure if it is worthy of this list, but I enjoyed it.
You can hear the punk influence burning throughout the record, but most of the real gut punches are reserved for the singles. Outside of those tracks, the album settles into easy listening territory.

First Album: Parallel Lines by Blondie | Listened on" 30.03.2026 Notes: - Really catchy guitar riffs but sometimes they are just a little repetitive in chorus or verse - I can really hear the bass properly but not in a metal heavy way. Rather the cool rock way in quite a few songs - Majestic vocals, she smashes it, great rock voice - Pretty versatile voice as well within one album - Love the synths? I think, very cool instrumental on top of the classic - Nice drum rolls throughout many of the songs - There are stronger (beginning) and weaker songs (especially middle second half) Guitar riff from "Will Anything Happen" eg. 1;50 is scratches the brain Nice ending from Sunday Girl Good ending song: nice layered vocals, nice guitar solo and synths Overall: Pretty good album I am not a fan of it necessarily but it is good music 100% Unfortunately this will be only 3 stars. Lyrically, below average. Harmonically very predictable for the most part, and really weird at times. Not that good of a record, but Heart of Glass makes it and grants it a bonus point.

I dunno. I know they’re seminal post-punk/disco/rock’n’roll. I know they have a great singer. I didn’t know they had such a great guitarist. I know they’re hit songs. But there’s a lot of lees than great stuff on here, so I’m jot sure I’m sure about Blondoe.
Blonde was always heart of glass to me and it’s only lately that five started to warm up to the idea that they are more. Glimpses of a punk aesthetic and I can appreciate their early embrace of hip hop. So for that I’ll give this a 3.
Got a 7” of “Heart of Glass” which is a banger for all time, rest of the album is fine.
