I suppose these “classic rock” albums had a new and exciting sound in the late 60’s/early 70’s, but after over 50 years of truly innovative music, they just don’t hold up. Not a bad album per se, but definitely not a great or even really good one either. Meh.

This is not a very good album.
Classic krautrock/electronic album

Awesome, irreverent, and sassy. However, while pretty good, it’s not nearly as good as Paul’s Boutique, which is a classic
folksy, bluesy, americana, rock. A great example of "classic rock," or to quote the famous commercial, "Is that Freedom Rock? Well, turn it up man!"
It’s dance music. Not exactly an unpleasant listen, but not something I’ll be giving a repeat listen.
She has a nice enough voice, but this is one of the most uninteresting pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Music is supposed to make you feel something, and all this album made me feel was bored.
This is a fantastic album that really highlights Zappa’s composing and guitar playing genius.
Fantastic album. Classic Irish-Folk-alternative from the 80’s
This is a great punk pop album. Awesome bass lines
Pretty good album. Classic punk pop sound.
An album where they sing very high in their vocal ranges without popping into their disco era falsettos. Not great, but pretty interesting.
Awesome album. Queen was such a talented and entertaining band and they show it off on this album. One of their best!
This is not a very good album.
While this is far from Bowie’s best, it’s still a pretty good album.
Classic Dylan. Great album
Oh look, another terrible Sex Pistols wanna be band.
not even the bands best album.
Parts of this album reminded me of Harry Parch. This is not a good thing.
Pretty good jazzy rockin album. Steve Winwood has a great voice.
No great, not terrible. I think that the keyboards as lead instrument is more interesting than Jim Morrison.
On this album “The Boss” sounds more like “The ineffective middle-manager.” Creative entropy hits some artists extremely hard.
You go to that trendy and expensive new hair boutique only to realize - too late! - that the stylists aren’t talented enough for Great Clips. This album is the Surströmming-infused water the place provides.
Great artist. Great album
The first real conceptual rock album? Biting satire and social commentary? Making fun of hippies (bums - bad karma thing to do)? This album has it all and is an absolute masterpiece. Zappa was a genius
One of the classics from the 80’s.
This is not a good album.
Not his best. Not terrible though
Good, not great album for supposed big influence on indie/alternative rock scene. Meh.
Lenin’s solo work suggests that either Paul was the true creative force behind the Beatles or Yoko (Oh No!) is a creativity vampire who drained Lennon completely
I was not expecting this to be such a great album. Fantastic and interesting musically. Fun harmonies.
Pretty good first album for seminal punk band.
Pretty good album with a more 80’s country sound
Great guitar player
MusicLly most of the songs sound very similar. It’s good music. This is a classic because of the emotion of the album, written and performed right after a divorce. Pain, longing, anger, despair, and melancholy, all on display.
This album is much more than the song with the hit video from MTV. Pretty good album overall. I especially liked the final, title track, Brothers in Arms
Good, not great album. A good example of late Brit-pop
I really enjoyed the first song. Then I enjoyed the very similar sounding second song. Then I listened to the entire album and realized it was basically one song, done 12 different ways. I imagine this was the ‘country pop’ of the 60’s. Not bad, but definitely not great.
This has been a favorite for many years
I was excited to hear the intelligent, insightful, and incisive lyrics everyone assured me Serj Tankian delivered. I’m still waiting.
Great album from a great band
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this album as much as I did. Great album.
As a kid who grew up and discovered alternative music in the 80’s this is one of the albums that’s like musical comfort food.
The King.
Classic krautrock/electronic album
Miles Davis never disappoints
Intersting and satisfying album.
She’s got an amazing voice. I can’t lie though, it’s a little unnerving how catchy the song Rehab is, considering how her life ended.
Pretty good album. There is one song with a rather problematic title.
Not a bad album. I liked it better when Oasis did it though
I remember this album from the late 80’s mostly because my mother bought it. It’s not bad, but for me it’ll always feel and sound like mom music.
Fun live album. The banter really displays Cash’s personality and ability to connect with his audience
Awesome 80’s funk/rap
Good, not great album
Fun, classic punk. Not as interesting as some other bands, but still pretty good. Black Flag’s most interesting work is Rollins’ spoken word material
Interesting only insofar are this is considered a great album. Proving once again that people were desperate to claim products of the 90’s/00’s matched the excellence of those from the 80’s, even when they clearly did not
No denying she has a great voice, but the songs don’t compare to other great singers. It’s not a bad album, it’s just also not particularly an interesting album. Meh.
Joplin's backing band. Not a Joplin fan and the guitars have that sloppy sound that permeates so much hippie music. The bass is on point though.
Every song on this album is great. There are some classics and some under appreciated bangers also.
Pretty good album. I know or Gainsbourg from his Bonnie and Clyde song that Luna covered.
This album reminds me of college, and that while 90’s music was okay, it was nowhere as good as the music produced in the 80’s
A couple of great songs and a bunch of average ones. Pretty good album for the 90’s
I’ve never been sold on the greatness of the White Stripes others seem to see. This album starts off with an insanely famous song. Some other songs are pretty good, some are okay.
One of my all time favorites! This brought back great memories of college!
Meh. Pure meh.
Classic album
I don’t specially like the explanation of Indian musical tradition to begin the album
Great song writing and vocals. This is a all around great album.
Maybe the blues influenced rock of the late sixties was new and innovative at the time, but after 40 years of hearing it, it just sounds old, and the guitar playing is sloppy.
This is an all time great. The start of country rock. This album is always a great listen.
Great album. Not a bad song and a few great ones.
I know there are some good albums in this genre, and he even made some good music. However, none of it is on this album of what sounds like stoner-cajun-faux voodoo garbage
A surprising number of song I knew. It’s a solid album throughout, and doesn’t include Rapture, mercifully.
Pretty good and interesting album.
Classic 80’s Athens, GA alternative rock
Pretty awesome rock album
Proto-metal/punk. I believe Lemmy from Motörhead was in the band for a time.
Available through YouTube but not Apple Music. Good, not great, early pop
I suppose these “classic rock” albums had a new and exciting sound in the late 60’s/early 70’s, but after over 50 years of truly innovative music, they just don’t hold up. Not a bad album per se, but definitely not a great or even really good one either. Meh.
Great album from beginning to end.
I freaked out when I listened to this disco album. I reminded me of all the crazy music used in 70’s dramas.
There are probably some very good 90’s R&B albums. This is not one of them.
LONG album with lots of songs, which is not surprising as the Gershwins has lots of great songs. Great singer with a great voice doing the songs justice.
Classic album. I was transported back to my high school year.
This is one of the worst album to which I have listened. Terrible music, unappealing voice, trite lyrics that want so badly to be edgy. This will not replace Harry Parch are the album to play at the end of the night to get people to leave.
One of the best albums of all time
I really enjoyed the music on this album but the mixing and added effects on the vocals of the various singers was rather off-putting on many of the songs.
I know there were some really good albums produced in the 1970’s. This is not one of them.
