A full length pop version of the children’s song “Rain Rain Go Away” had me wondering if there were only 1001 albums ever recorded for this to make the list.

Experimental, early electronic jazz is weird and cool. Released 10 days after the moon landing. That fact seems appropriate.
On one hand, you can feel how much influence this album has had on so much music that came after it. On the other hand, not really my style.
Feels like all of these songs could be playing as the closing credits role on an 80s brat pack/teen angst movie.
There’s a song on here called “I don’t get it” and I think that sums it up. Lynn called it “twangy Portishead.”
Took me a few tracks to realize that there is music in the background of the obnoxious crowd noise. Bad mix but otherwise good album.
Loud sulking broody bullshit music
3.5 if I could give it. Liked this better than the other one. Far more enjoyable than I expected.
“Man makes sex sounds while weather channel music plays in the background.” No thanks.
Solid album but fuck Kanye
Some people call out Lars for being a twatwaffle, but I don’t think that’s fair when really it’s the whole band.
One of the all time great Christmas albums. Second only to Mr. Hankey’s Christmas Classics.
Minus a point because Morrissey
This album was one hour and six minutes too long

Minus 2 stars for kid diddling
Timely album. RIP Clem Burke. Wildly underrated drummer.
Zero stars deserved.
Really a surprisingly good album. 3.5 if we could give half stars, but I can’t go to a 4.
Definite 3.5 if I could give it. Bowie is amazing. This is not his best by far, but good and interesting.
Maybe I’m Amazed is a fantastic song. This album is a 3.5 if we had half ratings. As it stands, I am rounding down because I got no love from Ticketmaster when trying to get Sir Paul tickets this week.
Surprisingly solid.
Was this the Violent Femmes before the Violent Femmes were the Violent Femmes?
57 minutes too long
Solid 3.5
This is a 3.5 but I’ll round up because I listened to greatest hits a lot in college.

The drums were pretty phenomenal, so I am adding a star for that. Otherwise, meh.
Kid diddlin’ ain’t cool

Could make an argument for a 5 here. It’s crazy the influence this album has had on the music world.
Impossible not to picture Chef singing these songs. 3.5

Plus a star for Down By the River.
Perfect album for the day I saw McCartney perform.
6. One of my favorite albums of all time.

You know the rule: minus a star for kid diddlin’.
3.5. This was entirely new to me and very enjoyable.
2.5. Not bad by any means but nothing I ever have to hear again.
Profoundly boring mid 90s rock blather

The Syd Barrett days were odd, as was Syd. Still, interesting to hear the influences and evolution of the band. This is more of a museum piece than an actual listenable album. 2.5

This is a carryover 1 star from the last Nick Cave album I had to suffer through. This one was not as bad, but still: 1.
This is a solid 3.5. Super fun. The only thing more criminal than this not being a more popular album is Vince Neil killing this band’s drummer and only serving 19 days for it.
Minus 3 stars for being a nazi

I just never got into JBJ. Lots of iconic songs here but I just don’t really care for him. 2.5
