Reviews (page 8 of 8)
i appreciate it for what it did for music but it wasn’t my vibe
Just boring.
Beep boop. No thanks.
Nein! Nein! Nein!
Just found out there are THREE (3!!!) Kraftwerk albums on this list. Insanity. One could perhaps make some semblance of sense... but so many baffles the mind. Talentless, meandering blandness.
Interesting… idk if it would’ve made MY list, but I can appreciate historical significance. Unfortunately for this album, I do not rate objectively.
Hardly.
If they were 5 yr old kids amazing. Actually no. Horrible
60/100 this is probably the weirdest album ive listened to so far, but not in a bad way, the first track was 23 minutes and i was kinda dreading it but overall it felt much shorter and didn't keep me too bored throughout it . the two kometenmelodies were a bit boring however and mitternacht wasn't anything special but i quite liked morgenspaziergang. overall, the worst album ive listened to so far but not due to a lack of quality, just a lack of entertainment, talent is shown here and i can appreciate it but in my opinion they go 2/5 here and one of the two is 23 minutes long and i probably won't revisit it much, if at all. replay value on this album is little to none in my opinion but the experience as a whole - pretty good, can just drag on for a while
unmemorable
hard pass
Just random sounds, wack imo
Not for me
Are you all insane? This is barely music.
22 minute opening song like you actually want me to kill myself 1001albumsgenerator.com
Driving related Noise without melody.
Not for me. Couldn't get through 2 songs. 1 Star
No
That’s a 1 for me, it was ok to listen to, but I really don’t ever want to come back to it. Just not my vibe
Nah
I am indifferent on this because this is not something I would personally gravitate towards. Interesting sound (I could absolutely hear this in the background of a movie and like it/vibe to it) but this is not something I'd put on, or rec to others unless I had a reason to. And I'm DEF not listening to a 22 minute song if it's not pulling me in after like 5 minutes. 1/5 for that alone (sorry not sorry)
No
GOD i’m sorry I couldn’t do this. It was hard to get through and I could even take it song by song because the songs were a thousand hours long.
Bardzo dziwne. 1/5
I just don’t get this.
First song is fucking 22 minutes long? Definitely German. Respect it l, can't rate it higher than a one because I would never listen to it but it doesn't offend me
Not for me. 1/5
The electronic wave never hit me right. It's just not for me.
An over twenty minute opening song that just seems to go on and on and on is not a great way to get me engaged. But, alas, that is what one is expected to do when firing up Autobahn by Kraftwerk. I’d try to listen to this album before and had the same hard time trying to get through it. I do appreciate what Kraftwek did sonically that others took and implemented into their own music. Kraftwerk walked so others could run. I just can’t get into this album. There’s no chance I would ever fire this up for any reason whatsoever. This is a 1 rating for me. 1/5
Sounds that vary from Volkswagen commercial to a Tron movie style background music.
absolute fucking dogshit, genuinely fuming i got recommended this shite
You know when you get stuck/lost on a video game level and the soundtrack just loops? Yeah… This album was the equivalent of a long drive on the autobahn for someone who doesn’t like driving.
die sollen sich mal nicht wegen 2 sekunden percussion loop einscheißen
dieser helikopter richtung dortmund ist heftig
I know that many very famous artists found this album influential, which perhaps warrants its inclusion on a list like this, but it doesn't seem as pioneering as every positive review seems to claim (which might just be bias from an era where we now have instant access to most of the history of music). I think a lot of what has been described as "pioneering" was done years prior by people like Wendy Carlos and Mort Garson. I am sure there are more, lesser known, artists that should be included on this list, but Wendy's work in 1968 topped the charts and remained there for years, earning her the opportunity to work with Kubrick scoring his films, all prior to the release of Autobahn. Overall, I think artists that came before did it better, and I think artists in recent times have improved on what they were going for. Maybe it was something special in the moment, but I think this album can be left in the past.
Listening to this album was a huge waste of time surpassed only by Kraftwerk's efforts to make it. Why isn't there a 0/5 option? 1/5
I won't say this is the worst thing a group of Germans did, but it's a pretty solid second
Вайб конечно имеется, но это явно не моё
-_-
Oh dear - not a fan. Won't be back.
Autobahn is one of the most annoying songs I've heard in a long time. Why is it 15 minutes long? The rest were slightly better but still not good.
Oof, gangsta rap followed by an electronica album. Couldn't tell one song from the other or was this just one song? Don't know, don't care and won't take the additional time to figure it out. 1
Tf
Unfortunately this is a 1 for me, even if we've had worse albums. There's just nothing that I'll listen to again (I hope).
I get that it's iconic. But good lord is It boring.
I liked the last song (Morgen….)
wtf is this. we just calling anything music now?
Even driving down the highway while listening to this one couldn’t save it for me. Also, ‘krautrock’ is a new favorite term.
Nihilists. These men are cowards.

I had been listening to this for a while, thinking I must nearly be on another track, but no, I still had 16 minutes left of track 1. They really got what they were going for, I felt like I was on endless, dreary motorway, getting somewhere without joy
Funky, very dj/synth/weird. Like when Ross plays the keyboard
Decent album, not the biggest rap fan but i think this type of rap is more palatable for me than some of the stuff I hear nowadays
I was ready to exit off of this Autobahn after the first two minutes. Unfortunately I had to endure 8 more minutes for the track 1 journey to be over only to find that track 2 was 10 more minutes of the Autobahn that Kraftwerk apparently wasn't able to wrap up in the prior 10 minutes. I guess you can't hear "Wir fahren, fahren, fahren auf der Autobahn" too many times. I'd like to think that Germany has better to offer than this but the author of this project didn't find it in this album.
perchè?
"The album's release in West Germany saw little press attention." no shit haha. Apparently we have these folks to blame for Bowie's bored synth noodling period. That first track was long but fine and whatever, but holy smokes, this album just plummets in a confounding way. This last track feels like cruel and unusual punishment. Are these flutes supposed to make me feel like I've come through hell but everything's going to be ok? I'm a pretty open minded person but these experimental/artsy albums are in nooooo wayyyyyy timeless. I guess I would have had to have been there.
Initially I was excited by the prospect of this album- electronic music in 1974? But then I hit play. It reminded me of a boring video game soundtrack. Personal enjoyment: 1/5 Relevance to this list: 2/5
Awful
Pass.
Odd
I’m sure there was a good artistic vision for this, but it doesn’t translate 50 years in the future
not very fun fun fun in the autobahn
Meh.
If they weren't German I would have thought this was a joke
I get how it is innovative and led the way to today’s synthesized music. But it doesn’t mean it’s a great listen.
Yeah, I just don’t get it. Like a lot of Kraftwerk’s discography, it’s critically loved and culturally lauded for all of it’s influences on a huge swath of modern music across all genres from hip-hop to rock/pop to ambient and EDM, and I do hear all of those influences, but I prefer their modern evolution which is morphed stages beyond this original source material that served as a primordial musical big bang of sorts. It could be simply that I’m not big into Kraut Rock or singers that sound more like European insurance salesmen than rock stars.
Who did they pay to appear on this more than once?
Álbum sem letra não me pega
Do que adianta ser alemão se não falam alemão
This is horrific, it’s like ambient music but makes me uncomfortable instead of relaxed.
The only positive thing on this album is its cover.
Oddio livello distrazione 3000, tutto troppo lungo e noioso
Very much not my thing Favourite: Autobahn (although I’d like it more if it was about 18 minutes shorter)
Video game repetitive sounds
More like Crap Wreck.
Album 298 of 1001 Kraftwerk - Autobahn Rating : 1 / 5 This just sucks. Electronic bullshit.
Not for me
Album: Autobahn Artist: Kraftwerk Year: 1974 Genre: Electronic Rating: ⭐️Not gonna lie when I played the first song and saw that it was 22 minutes long I was like omg. The album was ok. It felt like one 45 minute song as there wasn’t really any breaks to tell the listener that this is a new song. The mixture of random noises did nothing good for my ears, it was really confusing. A lot of the songs I thought David Bowie as Jareth in Labyrinth was going to appear at an point, gave me the creeps 😂 Favourite song: Autobahn - while it was disgustingly long, it was the only song with an actual beat to it. Would I listen again? No
No, just no.
Electronic music has never truly been my thing, but this, this is just something else. Unfortunately the first album so far I've had to skip songs on.
Dire. No other words. Truly terrible. Idc if its groundbreaking for electronic music for years to come. Only ground it broke for me was the first album in this list to get a 1. Would give it a 0 if I could.
Not my type of music
Nope
I didn't care for it.
Ongetwijfeld baanbrekend geweest, maar nu dikke vette mosterd na de maaltijd.
Have to be on MDMA to like this. I'm sorry I wasn't. Can I borrow some?
Cheers to Kraftwerk for innovations 50 years ago that helped launch all kinds of new sounds and possibilities. Unfortunately, so much has happened since then that Autobahn now feels dated and simplistic, and not at all like something we must listen to before we die. I don't need to listen to Kraftwerk to appreciate their contributions half a century ago.
I figured I wouldn’t like this and guess what I was right
1/5. Just nonsense. Unsure why this group became so popular. It really is a waste of time.
Not a huge fan. It's very early-digital-experimental. That stuff's not my favorite to begin with. I gotta be honest, I'm not really sure what world this ends up on a 1,000 all times album list that isn't "The dumbest 1,000 albums of all time".
This was a snooze fest.
Quite literally the worst thing to listen to while in the office. For the entire 42 minutes I was terrified one of the PMs sitting next to me could hear “Wir fahr'n, fahr'n, fahr'n, auf der Autobahn” on repeat through my headset. Still not convinced they couldn’t. None of them have looked at me the same since that day.
This album is weird for the sake of being weird. The first 23 minute long track is strange enough, but eventually you just feel like this album is the soundtrack to an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba.
Sorry, maar dit vond ik echt saai
I think I had heard of Kraftwerk before, but I didn't know they were German electronic music. I was pretty sure I wouldn't like it, and...I was right. At its best, it sounded like an early 80's cheesy sci-fi soundtrack, and at its worst, a boring soundscape to listen to to help me fall asleep. Maybe they were innovative for their time, but I'm listening to this in 2023 and it doesn't hold up at all. I hope this is their only album on the list.
This was a bit too weird for me. The autobahn song was so repetitive I was starting to lose my sanity. And the fact it was 20 minutes long is absurd. The rest of the album would’ve been good music for a futuristic movie but to listen to and enjoy was far off. Overall this is one that isn’t great to me. I can see how some bands may have been influenced but that’s not gonna cut it here. 2.5/10
Really can't be bothered by this
I’ve only just finished the first track but I feel confident enough in my opinion to leave a review. This is garbage. Absolutely trash. The ‘band’ must’ve been laughing at what people would listen to and what idiocy they could get away with and people would still lap it up. Can I leave zero stars? This doesn’t deserve any more than that
Outdated
Watching paint dry
Not my favorite
If this album dropped thirty years earlier, Goebbels would have had a producer’s credit.
Alright, folks, let's talk about Kraftwerk's "Autobahn." This album might be considered a classic, but let me tell you, it's about as exciting as driving through Kansas - which is to say, not very exciting at all. The title track is 22 minutes long, which is longer than most people's attention span. It's like taking a long road trip with someone who won't shut up about their stamp collection. If you're looking for something to get you pumped up on your morning commute, "Autobahn" isn't it. It's more like elevator music for robots. And let's not forget about the album cover. It looks like it was designed by a first-grader with a ruler and a set of white and blue pencils. I mean, come on, guys, at least put in a little effort. Overall, if you're a fan of music that puts you to sleep, then "Autobahn" is the album for you. But if you're looking for something with a little more energy and excitement, you might want to look elsewhere.
Not much to say... at best Kometenmelodie 2 kinda sounds like nice theme music for a 16-bit game. I wonder if I'd enjoy this more if I was a robot??
I am reasonably confident the inclusion of this album was an unfortunate typo. Apparently Tim Horton, Duke Ellington, and Nick Drake all died in 1974. I can only imagine they all died due to a broken heart from hearing this album. 1974 had the deadliest single airplane crash with no survivors in history, this is also likely due to this album. Trash
Sometime pioneers are dumb.
Fuck this
This is crap
Not my type of music. And I did not like the German accented autobahn stuff.
Nope, doesn't do it for me. I like (some) electronic music, and don't have anything against tracks over 20 minutes. But could just not get into this one. 1/5
Das Autobahn!
I hate this record. I hate nerds.
Psychological warfare
Wacky, didn't really like it but I can tell they were having a good time.
Well, this stunk. Completely forgettable at best and downright annoying at worst. Tough to get through. The 22 minute opening track fails to justify it’s length while the remaining songs are just electronic garbage. 1/5
Una propuesta interesante... durante 2 minutos. El disco se vuelve monótono y termina aburriendo.
Nup Boring I just don't understand this The last track was almost pleasant, but.. nup
Ross and his keyboard
Kraftwerk is what I would consider "good electronica" but then again there is no such thing as "good electronica" so still just not my thing.
9 year old amateur synth player?
Everything but the last track is just noise. I don’t care if it’s influential or if David Bowie liked it. This is ass
Did not like anything about this album.
Looks like Ross Gheller finally made a CD!
05/16/2022 OMG, these guys again? What the fuck.
Honnêtement c'est pas nul, juste pas ma came, un peu inécoutable ça a sûrement dû inspirer l'éléctro moderne
Basically just noise.
not my cup of tea
I really, really hope this is the last Kraftwerk album. A 22 minute lead off of...I don't even know. I thought they were forbearers to electronic music but this wasn't even that.
I have enjoyed some Kraftwerk in the past, but this album was pretty terrible. The title track had some interesting parts, but as a whole was WAY too long. The rest of the album just seemed like filler. 1/5
About as interesting as fake Bhutan artwork.
Why
Infinitely better than The Man Machine, but still bad.
No me voy a molestar ni en pensar que mierda poner aqui
C'est nul
Not my thing.
Wish I could unheard this album
Not good. I suppose for the times this would have been a hip, or cool album but I did not enjoy any of it
nah chief
Barf
barely could listen through the whole thing... i know they are essential for early electro music, still will never listen to it again.
"kuuntele tämä, jos haluat maksimoida krapulapäivän kärsimykset"
1974: Autobahn
Loved it
