It's not the best Radiohead album so I was considering giving it a 4 but I listened through again and it's a masterpiece still.

very experimental as expected for a radiohead album. Some parts of the album had a meandering feel as if there was no direction but, that doesn't mean there wasn't a purpose. It felt atmospheric and ambient, thus impressionistic. I liked it though I've enjoyed most radiohead albums I've listened to.

I imagine that anyone doing a 1001 album listening to and reviewing project considers him or her (probably him)self a "music nerd" but obviously there is a giant degree of variation as to what that term means to different people. Some people think that if they have been to five Dave Matthews Band concerts that they are a music nerd and some people think that if you haven't got a top ten list of favorite 1920's-era Zimbabwean throat-singing noise disco artists then you aren't really a music fan at all. I am somewhere in that spectrum, probably on the more basic end, and even in full recognition of that basicness I have some serious apostasies from what I consider to be music nerd orthodoxy. For example, I unironically love Neil Diamond; I cannot for the life of me get what people like about Gang of Four, or post-punk in general; I think Gin Blossoms and Toad the Wet Sprocket were better 90's bands than Nirvana and Peal Jam; I wouldn't kick Air Supply out of bed for eating crackers; and damnit do I hate Radiohead. I think that if Radiohead were just a one hit wonder grunge era band that kept on making some kind of weird music in their subsequent career that a few people really liked then I would probably say, "The singer's voice is not for me, but its okay" and move on, but Radiohead is held up as the end all be all of music nerd music and I just don't get it. OK Computer is okay. Creep is a pretty good song. But everything else they have ever done can be tossed to the bottom of the ocean for all I care. If they come on the radio I turn the channel. I fucking hate them. I think it is mostly Thom Yorke (had to be "Thom" didn't it? Couldn't possibly be "Tom")'s voice, but its probably just everything. Fuck you, Radiohead. Fuck you, music nerds who think everyone has to like Radiohead. I wish I was an amnesiac and could forget that this band ever existed. And I think what makes listening to this garbage even more upsetting is knowing full well that there are probably at least three other shitty Radiohead albums on this list. Let's see . . . yep, four albums total. God help me, I'm going to have to endure In Rainbows again. Kill me now.

Good album. The only stand-outs for me were “You and Whose Army?” and “I Might Be Wrong.” I knew of only “Creep” before so the lyrics not being on that level of flow was a little off-putting, but interested in more. 2.5

I like Radiohead, but had never heard this album. I enjoyed it very much! Maybe not as memorable as some of their others, but atmospheric and interesting.

Was surprised by this album. I was such a fan of OK computer that I never listened when they went electronic. There was some filler towards the end of the album but a lot of great songs.

Very ethereal, a perfect album to cry to or just mellow in a dark room, this album needs a certain setting to enjoy it fully like i cant listen to it in the car ride home from like work but its great to write note app paragraphs lol I freaking love Radiohead

It's not perfect record like radiohead's previous. But, if you're willing to see a band go out of their comfort zone and make a bit of a mess, a greatly enjoyable record nonetheless

Really good album. I have been meaning to listen to the Radiohead albums for a long time, but I don't think they were on Spotify before. This is going to be a lot of fun. I unsuccessfully tried to listen to this album on my run with my earbuds, and realized that it was pointless. I needed good headphones to experience this.

With the exception of I Might Be Wrong, this album from Radiohead doesn't really do it for me.

Not in my edition of the book. 2001. 3 stars. Well done, but lacking standout tracks and strays dangerously into prog rock wankage. Not their best work by any means - who selected this for the 1001 albums list?

Not even the best Radiohead album.

Can't say I've ever been in love with Radiohead. They definitely have some good stuff but this one was pretty melancholy. Likely would not put this in heavy rotation in my house.

Meh... Radiohead is very hit or miss with me. I believe I'm more of a mainstream Radiohead fan & this album doesn't have any of their mainstream hits on it. I'm sure die hard RadioHeadies love this sort of album, but for me, it's a Meh.

I think there’s definitely some interesting tracks here that are worth revisiting but as a whole, I wasn’t too interesting in this project

I thought that this was one of Radioheads worst, but seriously all their stuff ive listened to is above a 9/10. I haven't listened to all of it though but still. Songs on this album are eerie and spectacular

This is actually one of my favorite Radiohead albums. The top 5 on this album is just so great, although weird in some parts: ‘Pyramid Song’, ‘I Might Be Wrong’, ‘Knives Out’, ‘Like Spinning Plates’, and ‘Life In A Glasshouse’. What can I say? This album also just hits so different from the rest of them. I don’t know why, but it just feels like it’s in its own world. Anyway, great album bye

I think that this album tries to create atmosphere. I just don't feel it at all.

No toe-tappers here, but the album is full of interesting, melancholy rhythms. Not for all occasions, but if the mood strikes, this is a fabulous piece.

Ahh, I love Radiohead's sonic experimentation. Just wish I had more time to just sit down and listen because there's a lot of layers. So I guess Radiohead is like an Ogre. I jest, but this band DOES NOT. This is their main flaw - so serious! That and Thom Yorke's vocals don't always resonate (no pun intended). Sometimes feels like the musical equivalent of the movie Eraserhead. This is a really interesting album, heavy both thematically and structurally. A unique, risk-taking band band that somehow makes their experimental psychological meanderings almost accessible. One last thing - if EVERYTHING is obscure, nothing is obscure.

This is theoretically interesting, but not great. I just don't get peoples' infatuation and fascination with Radiohead. They are over-estimated - the ultimate navel-gazers. Who listens to this? why? I am not a fan.

Spooky jazz. A much better album than I thought. And I’m finally embracing Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors!

I definitely owned the first four Radiohead albums but I think I realised their highs were incredible but had very little interest in the rest. Some of it is just background noise. The singles though are haunting and ethereal and truly great compositions. You can’t mistake a Radiohead song. I would be happy to give a 3.5… but this isn’t my fave.

Before we started this project, if you had asked me, if I liked Radiohead, I would have said, no, with the exception of a few songs. And this album is the reason why. This one seemed a little off the rails, kind of sonic landscape-y. Same sort of thing (but executed differently) I didn’t like when Wilco did after YHF. I very much liked the other three (?) Radiohead albums that we have already heard on this journey.

As a Radiohead fan, this seems a pretentious bid by whomever decided to include the album to seem like they know something the rest of us don't. This is a middling album by a transformative band. I love that Radiohead is intentionally ambitious, but this doesn't rank among their best.

Each song is pretty good, with a few being very good. but goddamn, i can't take a whole album of this.

We had a family listening session and Adler is a huge Radiohead fan. He and Andre were critical about this album. All I could think is it’s Radiohead and their sonic universe is damn near perfect all the time.

#63. I quite like Radiohead, but this particular album isn't their most interesting. 3/5: acceptable *this is the fourth album I purchased from this list. Well after listening to these guys, I'm beginning to think I was a little hard on Frank. Good gawd, I've heard of Radiohead and I've heard they have some good music. Apparently, I heard wrong or this album was some type of experiment on whining like a lil bitch. I listened once and have no desire to listen again. About song #3, Pulk or something like that, I had flashbacks to some of the worst albums I have heard off this list. Suicide (the band, not the act itself) popped into my head. Yea...this was not good at all. My 1 is for the worst of the worst. These guys were close. I'll give 1.5 and that's being kind. Scoreboard will show 1 1.5

2 A collection of songs recorded during the same sessions as the group’s previous album, Kid A, that they felt warranted a full, separate release. Well, I think this definitely feels like a collection of outtakes from a superior album, and anyone who calls this “Kid B” is right on the money. There’s no cohesion or connective tissue between anything here, and while there’s at least a unique sound to each song, it really just comes off feeling pretentious most of the time. At least we got a pretty good murder mystery movie out of the track Knives Out, which also happens to be probably the best song here as well - though likely because it’s the only one where it doesn’t sound like Thom Yorke’s head is fully up his own ass. One of the most overrated groups out there, and it frustrates me when their fans try to assert this kind of thing as a masterpiece. Yes, Radiohead has some great tunes, some innovative, some just bangers, but there’s so much pretentious, annoying bullshit in their catalog you have to sift through to find those. Will die on the hill that this band is not as great as music nerds made out to be.

Quite liked this one. 1 if my favourite albums (of all time) is the Bends, so I was expecting good things. Quirky, strange influences and wholly er, interesting is this album. I do wonder with albums like this that the band may be still looking for ideas and could be guilty of trotting out the some of the same, as before. A very good album but not as good as the aforementioned Bends or OK Computer.

Haunting, musical, and soothing at the same time. Beautiful instruments and vocals. Some distorted sounding songs that build tension. Great album.

Used to be thrown off by it’s experimental style which felt a little off balanced in the album back in the day, but I feel like it evolved the band towards some sweet future albums. Radiohead isn’t known for upbeat music, but I found this album particularly dour. However, I liked the New Orleans vibe of the last song.

Some call it Kid B, which I get. But it for sure stands on its own. Love the experimental sounds and ambient effects. Very moody in tone but a pleasure for the ears. The jazz great playing trumpet on Life in a Glasshouse was an amazing way to end the album. So close to a 5

You and Whose Army - excellent song, easily my favourite by Radiohead, there's been times, when it was on a loop for a whole day. As for the rest of the album it's typical Radiohead. Some songs are quite good, catchy, melancholic, original. But others have just too much of Thom Yorke's wailing, which in bigger doses is on par with an audio torture. Still a great album, but don't listen to it too much, please.

I listened to this album twice yesterday, back to back. I never listened to Radiohead when all the cool kids were. Amnesiac is not as memorable as OK Computer or even Kid A, but in the end, it's mostly more of the same, yeah? That being said, I did really enjoy the jazz on the final track.

This was my first experience with this album. It was really good. I wonder where Radiohead people put this in relation to their other albums.

Ok, I think 4 Radiohead albums on this list is more than enough. I feel like Radiohead are overrated. I personally can't stand them. The fact that they have such a showing on this list, but other more deserving acts aren't even on the list is rediculous. I suspect it is because they are British, and this list is so heavily weighted to obscure English acts for some fucking reason. Thom Yorke should cheer the fuck up and stop moaning. This "music" is garbage. Nothing about this album is enjoyable to me. A truly painful listening experience. I pray that this is the last of their records that I have to endure, but I have a sneaky suspicion that Pablo Honey is probably on here too if this utter garbage is... Fuck Radiohead. Favourite song: Hunting Bears, simply because Thom shut the fuck up, and the song is only 2 mins long Least favourite songs: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors, along with the rest of this insufferable garbage. 1/5

After years of waiting nothing came

An absolute masterpiece, this album is a a timeless triumph of music, creativity and experimental bravery. There is nothing that sounds like this album and its companion album, Kid A, either before or since - a testament to its genius.

This is not an essential album, and this is coming from a fan. With cuts like ”Pyramid Song”, ”I Might Be Wrong” & ”Knives Out” there are certainly great things to get from it, it’s just a bit goofy around the edges. Nonetheless, I am bound by blood to give it at least 4 stars

ample uses of technology along with thom yorke’s signature warble. i know that his vocal delivery can come across as “lazy” and “off putting” to some, but to me it comes across as almost another instrument in the mix of sounds. his approach is not really meant to be sung along with.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Radiohead. This album disappointed. There were a couple of good tracks, but it was far more repetitive than their normal stuff. Sad day.

There’s a few moments where I start to dig the sound and then it just goes flat again. It’s just…..mostly…..boring. The vocals are too drawled out and whiney, too. I just don’t get Radiohead.

Incredibly experimental; I'm really surprised that this one, from what I've read, seemed to be so loved by the mainstream when it was released Dark, depressing, unsettling album, and so damn interesting. I think that how polarizing the album seems to be on the internet (alongside Radiohead in general) is a testament to how much they pushed music's boundaries on this one

It's not the best work of Radiohead. It obviously has the overall theme of the band, but throughout the whole album I only got my ear closer to 1-2 songs. Especially the last one is different in a good way. 3.5/5.

in a way i prefer amnesiac to kid a. i know i know, crucify me, but its way more melodic in the sense that its not all based on rythm. on the counterpart tho its not as groundbreaking as kid a. so i dont know. im a big fan of ok computer and thats it, was never really into any other radiohead album apart from in rainbows maybe. but this is great, just way too depressing and dark.

Pretty good, great in places

It sort of floats about but doesn’t go anywhere. Possibly my least favourite Radiohead album.

I love radiohead. Every record is different, yet you still can hear its them. And everytime you listen to it you hear something new.

1. I skipped track one because I just couldnt be bothered lmao currently on track 2 but i'm gonna go back and finish track 1 after this songs ends. 2. This song gives me soundtrack vibes like I can deffs hear this on a tv show during a kind of eerie scene. 3. Searched up the meaning behind the lyrics for this and they're actually deep and also true. This entire song makes me feel so like "wtf is this" which I guess depending on how you look at it, correlates with how you can have that same thinking towards life itself. 4. Songs sounds drastically different from the first three tracks in the sense that it's just the guitar and vocals. not until the last verse that the instruments come in and gives me the same vibe as the previous tracks. Also I learnt a new word: "cronies" 5. Main guitar riff is cool. I'm noticing that most of these songs hit the 4 min mark but lyrically, they're quite short so there's a lot of space just filled in with the instruments. 6. I just know that I wont like any songs on this album but if I had to pick; this is my fav song on the entire album because it's the only chill one in terms of production lollll its just the vocals and light instrument back track yaaay 7. Okay this track is also very chill in terms of production but its just a bit eerie so number 6 still wins lol. The eerie vibes parallels well with him repeatedly singing "release me" 8. The genius annotation for this song, specifically the last verse is craaazy when you realise that this song was made in 2001 and still rings true, if not even MORE true now in 2023. 9. No lyrics, just guitar. 10. The annotation for this song is interesting as well. I'm seeing a pattern between these songs all having something to do with the government, politics and large cooperation's. Very cool! 11. I am loving the jazzy feel from the trumpets! I actually think this might be the track that I like the most of this entire album and only because of the Jazz feel haha Overall, very interesting! The lyrics for these songs as well were quite "out there" in terms of bashing the government etc but yeah. I most likely won't listen to this album ever again but it was really cool to listen to a genre of music I don't like.

what a beauty this album is. album number 1000 for me on the list. the excitement over what treat could possibly await as album 1001 is palpable. If it's anything other than the seminal 'Up & Down : the party album' by the Vengaboys i will be sorely disappointed.

This record is very forgettable. It's not a kind of sexy legend like myself, Nigel Spackman. A load of boring nonsense that makes you long for a wank in the shower. I winder what spazjazz will make of it.

October 31, 2023 Not first listen, but I recall the spookiness may be more than enough for today Wow my first Radiohead phase was longer ago than I thought, I don’t remember any of these songs! (Pun not intended) ‘Cept “Pyramid Song” and “Pulk / Pull Revolving Doors” :) Also, who knew I’d get my trombone fix with the closing track? It’s transitory, like an elevator going to a strange new planet, but still pretty fun and inventive. To think there’s a whole song that’s 100% a backwards recording, and my first thought is just yep- that’s Radiohead being Radiohead. HL: “Like Spinning Plates”, “Life in a Glasshouse”, “Pyramid Song”, “Morning Bell/Amnesiac”

I like it but it is not my favorite Radiohead album. Probably #5 or 6.

But altogether the album fell a little flat for me. Maybe it's out of my league, but my monkey-brain was thirsty for more rhythm somewhere in the album. To me, the songs tended to flow into each other in a way that made several of them indistinguishable, or maybe even unmemorable. Almost every Radiohead album I’ve heard has taken weeks, months, years to grow on me. I first listened to “Kid A” in about 2016, and wasn’t prepared to count it among my favourite albums until years later. “In Rainbows” didn’t live up to the hype for me when I first heard it four or so years ago, but when I reviewed it here I had to concede it was a five-star record. Even “The Bends”, which I always dismissed as “the album before things really got interesting”, is only just working its magic on me now. So, two weeks on from first hearing “Amnesiac”, I’m fully prepared to admit my opinion on it might change. But for now, it feels… relatively inessential. It’s 50% good-to-great Radiohead songs and 50% pretty transparent filler that didn’t make it onto the older sister album “Kid A”. I can’t quite buy the counter-argument that “Amnesiac” is on par with “Kid A” and people would have liked it more if it were released first. While it may have the same atmosphere, the same moody, glitchy electronics with a factory of twists and turns (exemplified in the muted, moody opening track), a lot of it smells suspiciously of filler. “Hunting Bears” is a couple of minutes of guitar licks. “Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors” is a throwaway exercise in electronics and distorted voice-over which disrupts the pace early on. We even end up with three minutes dedicated to a song also featured in “Kid A”, “Morning Bell”, in a drowsy, soporific arrangement which hardly does it any favours. Some of it, though, feels instantly essential. “Pyramid Song” is absolutely captivating, unwinding over a constantly shifting time signature I can’t quite work out across the course of the song. “You And Whose Army” shifts beautifully from hushed reprieve to epic climax. “I Might Be Wrong” is a surprisingly groovy, guitar-led track with some electronic flourishes. And it was wonderful to hear the brass section (used to stunning effect on Kid A’s “The National Anthem”) make a beguiling, idiosyncratic return in “Life in a Glasshouse”. Overall, “Amnesiac” is simply a good record from a band who have no excuse not to reach greatness. Here’s a wavering score which is more than likely to improve as the years go by.

- lots of interesting/weird sounds - in general I don’t like the moaning voice they use - songs don’t have a sense of direction/melody - usage of “boopy” technology sounds is cool - production is highlight I think, not many words - bpm is too low for me without other cool stuff going on - I did like pyramids song, and that it was sampled in let’s start here by yachty - it does just sound like b-sides from Kid A, which I don’t like either so - ok I admit there are at least a couple cool moments; trumpet and was cool - not enough for me to listen through the whole thing though

Ah Radiohead. I have to be in the right space to enjoy it and that space doesn't show up much. I could live a fine life without feeling like I missed out had I never heard it. Not a bad album, and it definitely had a space in my life when I was a younger human - but now it's too moody & whiney for me to want to hear it again.

I think I’ve yet to hear a Radiohead album that I thought was bad, but I’ve also yet to hear one that’s blown me away. They get so much love, I keep finding myself feeling let down despite finding the music pretty decent. Let’s see if today’s album can make me see them more wonderfully. Songs I already knew: none Favourites: Pyramid Song, You And Whose Army I think I can say with some level of confidence that this has been my favourite Radiohead album so far. I liked how the songs would blend together nicely. It makes it feel more like an album rather than a collection of songs. I definitely am realising why they don’t play Creep live any more (it’s not on this album, it’s just a note), as it’s so starkly different to most of their other songs. Overall, this was pretty good. Still not amazed though.

I haven't heard this album in 10 years. First song is fine. Pyramid Song still spanks. Push/Pull Revolving Doors is more soundscape than song and feels like a reject from Kid A. You and Whose Army is a wonderfully weird song. I Might be Wrong is not my favorite song but I feel this song could realistically fit on any Radiohead album post-The Bends and would fit. I like the return of Radioheads heavy bass lines. Knives Out - Genuinely good song Morning Bell is the inferior version of the song. Dollars and Cents - Good but I do not and will not remember this song. Hunting Bears - Good soundscape Living in a Glass House - A solid end just feels like something is missing. I like this Radiohead album. It just feels like a 3/5 especially compared to all their other albums.

I love OK Computer and I know Radiohead's first three albums pretty well. However, for some reason I'd never heard Kid-A or Amnesiac before. I bought In Rainbows when it came out (it was the last CD I ever bought), played it once, didn't like it. I felt this needed a few playthroughs to get a fair opinion, so I listened to it four times. I know I like it now, but it doesn't feel perfect. Maybe it will end up as a 5 star album for me, but it's a 4 star one right now.

Kallt, metalliskt, och ganska svårtuggat. Stor skillnad mot mildare The Bends. Bäst är 'I Might Be Wrong' med sin big-beatiga produktion, och 'Knives Out', som är mest "radioheadig". Not really resonated with me. Maybe there would be a time it would. The start of the album seemed more discordant than anything else, but then... I got to I Might Be Wrong. It picks up a bit, but really... The album feels more like someone's mind going through the day to day horrors of life. Recently I've experienced more horrors of life than I'd prefer. So maybe that is why it is bringing me down. It resonates with me, but not in a way I'd like. Like trying to play a song, but you get the wrong notes.

Kid A was a dream. A frigid, postmodernist dream experienced by a soul unable to process its own emotions, and holding back any clear feelings it goes through--doubting them, even. It's a dream about modern alienation--a weird dream that might or might not be linked to the influence hypertechnology has upon us all, disconnecting us to ourselves instead of connecting us to others. Underlining this state of affairs at the turn of the millenium, the pardoxical miracle that this record operates is unique. The more feelings in it are repressed--the more their expression is muddled by static, oversaturation and informational entropy--, the more kindred souls can be moved by the failed attempts of Kid A's protagonist to convey their emotions in any recognizable or expected manner. Some of this thematic groundwork is covered by the lyrics, but most of it is expressed through the music itself. And contrary to what happens in Radiohead's other masterpiece *OK Computer*, emotions in *Kid A* surge out of a lack of emphasis, and not through a wealth of it. This is where the oneiric character of the record is pivotal. Disconnection and alienation are so prominent in its aesthetics, everything looks and sounds like a dream. It's not even clear if it's a good one or a bad one. *Amnesiac* is the companion piece to *Kid A*, recorded during the same sessions. And it feels like waking up from the dream that *Kid A* was. You try to pick the pieces in the morning and solve the puzzle. What was this strange dream about? What is wrong with me? Is there a way out of the labyrinth? You ask those questions to yourself as you're taking the tube to work, you and other commuters "packed like sardines in crushed tin box". Whiffs of the dream come back to haunt you in those waking hours (that other version of "Morning Bell"). You look tired and despondent and worried. And after a while, as you start contemplating the "real" world--real but kafkaesque, dystopian--you wonder if the dream is not actually going on. Except that this time, any sense of elatedness is gone. Only melancholy and frustration remain. *Amnesiac* is therefore less cohesive, more disjointed than *Kid A* is, but such disjointed aesthetics also serve a purpose in this record. And the album's got highlights every genuine Radiohead already knows about and love. It's got "Pyramid Song", a song for the ages with its strange meter, Escher-like chord progression and tortured wails in the dark. It's got the paranoid, dry and hieratic "You And Whose Army". It's got "Knives Out" and the cyberpunk, Bladerunner-like moodpiece "Like Spinning Plates", with its inverted vocal parts sounding like telepathic brain waves reaching your skull from afar. It's got cyclic "I Might be Wrong" and the brass-band-enhanced cri du coeur "Life In A Glasshouse". It's got soul and anxiety and so many questions for you. And just like *Kid A*, those question marks can resonate in you long after you've listened to the album. 4,5/5 for the purposes of this app, rounded up to 5 here. Turn of the century electronica/exotica/cabaret combined with turn of the century singer-songwriter. I didn't find it very interesting. I do like that they did a track with Humphrey Lyttelton though, it’s the best on the album.

First time with this album and I can see it growing on me even more. It's got a more chill vibe and the jazz influence on a few track adds a nice little extra.

Head before: yes I have a sneaking suspicion that if I were to listen to this 20 more times it might become my favorite R****head. As it is, I can say that I enjoyed it significantly more than when it first came out, and I thought it was just endless whining and wanking. It *is* endless whining and wanking, but there is significantly more depth than I gave it credit for, cool melodies, rhythms and ideas hidden in the loam. Both this and “Kid A” are uneven albums for me. They both definitely have some of Radiohead’s finest work on it. But then there are some real head-scratchers on it as well. I had gotten “Kid Amnesia,” the anniversary release, but I have yet to listen to it. Hearing it all in one block, I am not sure if I will change my mind about the album. All in all, the band is growing and trying new things which is still great. And when it works, it’s truly an amazing moment. “Pyramid Song” is easily one of the most amazing things I’ve ever heard. So haunting, and the way the drums come in and completely turn the beat around… chills for me every time. “Life In A Glass House” seemed like such a grand experiment back then, now it’s also a song of theirs I really love. never got into “Knives Our”, it seems unfinished to me. I can imagine trying to follow “OK Computer” is not so easy. Moving into a different style seems very risky. But I think it works more in “Kd A,” even though this has some songs that are better, imo.

I never understood why people got so turned off by this Radiohead album and the closely linked previous album Kid A when they loved OK Computer so much. To me, it's the natural progression from all the experimenting and electronica in OK Computer to these two. Now if you want to bitch and moan that it's different from The Bends, fine. But it's still a good album. Not my favorite of theirs, but the first half still has some beautiful soft pieces (Pyramid Song), some crunchier rock pieces (Knives Out), and several that just like OK Computer nicely blend rock and electronica to almost sound rock, even if it's looped beats from time to time (Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box, You and Whose Army?, I Might Be Wrong). Yeah, I zoned out a little on the last half of the album but the last song Life in a Glasshouse is really cool with the jazz and trumpet sounds. Not quite Radiohead at their peak, but still real solid.

They’ve polished up some of the lesser tracks from the “Kid A” sessions and put together a surprisingly listenable album that can be enjoyed with just a couple of skips. What a masterpiece! This is what rock in the 21st century is. The way they play as a band mixing different sounds and making them into a song is like a painter mixing colors in a canvas and coming out with a full picture. Johnny Greenwood is by far a genius

For me it's way too experimental, trying to combine different sounds and noises, it works, but for my taste I would listen once or twice in my lifetime

a headphones album. an album u must listen to in headphones. way better than I remember. opener goes ridiculous pyramid song is great as always sonics on push pulk doors are impeccable as always etc etc. idk why id never taken this album seriously before. loads of great tracks. knives out is up there with their best. the one song im not sure about and that makes this feel like a kid b is the morning bell redo. good stuff altogether. could be a 5 upon revisits

i've listened to this one previously. the first half or so is great, from packt like sardines to knives out. after knives out it is not very good, and not really worth bothering listening to. but that first stretch is good!

Not a bad song on the album and some of my all time favorites, including Pyramid Song, Knives Out, and Hunting Bears.

This was an extremely uneven album. Almost half of the songs are nonsense and feels like they're there to tie the good songs together or set the mood of the album, one quarter is quite good - like 'Knives Out', 'I Might Be Wrong', 'Dollars and Cents', and the other quarter is ok. How do you rate that? I think I'll actually give it a strong 2 for once instead of weak 3. I just feel like the weak songs drag down the overall impression way too much to ignore.

This is a Radiohead album I never really listened to but I really enjoyed it, it's something with the dissonant melodies like in "Knives Out" and guitar riffs like that one in "I might be wrong" that just sits well with me. While it lacked hits like it's predecessors Kid A, The bends and Ok Computer it still was a nice listen and sounded pretty similar. Radiohead albums usually take a few listens for me to get into so maybe this one will get better in time.

One to sink into and let wash through you. This album captures the anxiety and anomie of the millennium - the dark depths below the shallow sheen of Blairism and Brit-poptimism. Unsettling poly-rhythms, dissonant harmonies, glistening shimmering textures that shift and mutate as instruments come in and out, fade outs where you realize there's been a guitar hiding in the mix that entire time, that warbling thin and piercing singing (I get way it's not universally loved, but it works so well for this music - how insane would this sound if they had a normal rock singer on this?!), the fluttering panning what is that sound snyths, electronica inspired drums and bass, melting horns and washed out strings. Korn for softboys, dance music for shut-ins, this is dismal and alienating exploration of the dismal and alienating feelings of shiny glass cities and the empty boom of the FIRE economy.

another Radiohead album and again I didn't like it... some songs were way worse than In Rainbows but a couple of them are quite passable

moody, atmospheric, fantastic. the sequencing is incredible, nothing feels out of place at all. kinda feels like kid a on sleeping medication, but like in a good way. best tracks: pyramid song, life in a glasshouse, you and whose army?

I kind of passively listened to this album today while I "worked". It's not their best stuff by any means but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I will give it 4 stars.

Kinda cool. Depression as an album. I would've loved this as a teenager. Reminds me of James Blake, Low Roar and Sigur Rós at the beginning. Liked almost every song, I think. I feel it.

I like the mix of genres. It grows on me the more I listen to it, but right now I still don't fully understanding (or maybe I'm not in the right mood). I think I like it more than Kid A. Very interesting!

The worst era of Radiohead.

I can see how some don’t like it, but the super cerebrial, almost ghostish voice of Thom Yorke is indelibly seared into my head as interesting and not ott. But I think that’s also because I came of age during the Napster era when they reigned as the mainstream “thinking man’s” music

3.5. I've only listened to The Bends fully and a bit of Pablo Honey and A Moon Shaped Pool. I did quite enjoy The Bends but I haven't quite connected with their other material. This album is quite hit or miss.
