Reviews (page 12 of 13)

could i write poetry to this? n

The Bends and OK Computer are 2 of my favorite albums ever.

Not their best

Some Radiohead I absolutely love. Some I do not. This is the latter.

Far too many minor notes, made me feel anxious and jangly.

not a fan

Could never get into this one

if i'd had listened to this back when i actually liked radiohead, i'm sure i would've enjoyed this substantially more. this just feels like a lazy throwaway album to me best tracks: you and whose army?, knives out

Eh. I like a lot of Radiohead, but nothing on here connects with me.

This was ! Fine ! I did not like the beginning at all, and the second half was better. He's very whiny isn't he

I saw a few Radiohead gigs around this period. Bought ok computer and the bends, then kid a came a along and I realised Thom was getting a sort of cult following. Wasn't my cup of tea and the persistent wailing and off key tangents I grew tired of. This album makes me realise I did the right thing. Still not my cup of tea. Different for being different' sake.

Please no more Radiohead. It’s been like 3 of them already and it’s only getting worse.

Een paar keer gedraaid, niks blijft ervan hangen. Of zou ik aan geheugenverlies lijden (onk onk)? Experimentje hier en daar, wat vertrouwde Radiohead-gitaarnummers, en door met het volgende album.

An album for a very specific audience--im getting a "people whom only refrain from killing themselves because they wouldnt be able to bother the rest of us" vibe

Meh. Still just not a fan of Radiohead.

Underwhelming. I'm not feeling the overall tone and vibe of this album. There are some moments but nothing that would make me want to listen again.

I can't. Not for me in the least.

I don't hate it, probably wouldn't listen to it again either. I thought I liked Radiohead.

not my fav Radiohead album

I just don’t get it. We already had one Radiohead album and I didn’t love it thought it was just mid. This one I actively disliked. Everyone raves over how good they are, how forward thinking they are, how monumental and epic of a band they are. I just don’t get it. The dude cannot sing. He sounds terrible and so freaking whiny. The lyrics are just meaningless drivel. He just drags each word out waaaaaaaaaaaay too long. You can’t understand what he's saying at all and even when you do it makes zero sense. I just don’t understand why they are so revered when this is what they put out. They are one of the most overrated bands in history. The only reason this isn’t a 1 is because if you took out whiny boy the tracks would have sounded at least decent if not pretty good. So wildly overrated.

I'd rather be listening to something else

Ich dachte radiohead sei so toll aber ich find die Songs alle irgendwie cringe, Dollars and Cents gefällt mir ig. Aber not for me, vielleicht sind die noch späteren Alben ja mehr meins

pyramid song is amazing, the rest of the album (until i was wrong) is very boring, annoying electronics that are too repetitive, lyrics aren't great either (from first listen). bit of a miss

Somehow people believe experimentation is all good and bands should be rewarded for trying new techniques. No problem with experiments but let them die in the studio when they don't work. Radiohead's catalogue is filled with experiments that should have not bloated their releases. Please, if it doesn't work, let it go.

Album made me just sad not very good vocals

Snoozer. 2.4.

Songs at the beginning are better than the ones coming later. It gets more and more Jazzy and whiny. Annoying at the end

There's 1001 albums here, right? So there's a limited amount of space. Did we really need to carve out a place for the Kid A outtakes?

I've never heard - or even heard of - this album. I think I was the only person who didn't LOVE OK Computer as soon as it came out. But I seem to appreciate it more and more as time goes on. I like this about as much as I like other Radiohead. I can listen to it. It makes good background music. Every once in a while I even perk up at something I hear. But, basically, it's not for me.

Please, never again.

Álbum numa vibe mais conceitual e com a introspecção costumeira de Yorke. Peca no excesso de recursos sonoros robotizados. Nota 5.5/10.

I know I'm supposed to like everything that Radiohead puts out, but this one doesn't do it for me. It's okay in spots.

Mostly pretentious bullshit, although there were a handful of decent moments.

You could say that I'm not a Radiohead head

I want to like this. I love The Bends, it's one of my favorites. But this just feels like a pretentious collection of Soundscapes.

Inidie - a liitle bit too much. Im searching the "Rock"

I liked OK Computer, but all other Radiohead albums are too slow and whiny for me.

Not my favorite Radiohead album. Has some stand out moments, but when it misses it really misses. Think I’ll just stick to the stand out tracks on this album.

This wasn't bad, just a bit bland to me. 2/5

Weird - big fan of their early stuff, but this is a bit different.

# Playlist track - You and Whose Army? # Notes - I have the strong impression that this is one of those albums that are *hard* to listen. You need to give it time and attention. Play through a few times. You'll *earn* the right to delight on it. - Not having the time or energy for that right now, it's just a disjointed, weird listening experience. With some excellent moments interwoven with a lot of senseless wailing and depression.

Found it a bit of effort to get through Favourite: Life In a Glasshouse

Still, still, still not OK Computer. A weak Radiohead album.

This is a bit of a mixed bag for me. There's some absolute gems in here like Pyramid Song, but then it has some absolute bullshit in there too. Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors I can't figure out if it's them being pretentious or if they're actively taking the piss. It doesn't have the cohesiveness and grandeur of Kid A, and plenty of the album is just a bit miserable and flat. 2.5 rounded down.

Things I remembered upon listening: * the piano intro to "Pyramid Song" * the brief sigh of airy, drumless respite during "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors" * pretty much all of "Morning Bell/Amnesiac" (which probably say something) * the guitar sound on "Hunting Bears" The rest was lost to the years, if I ever remembered it at all. I do really like the artwork, though. Bonus star for that.

So I'm familiar with OK Computer. I was never overly impressed and never understood the comparisons to Pink Floyd. Pyramid Song could have been Neil Young. The album is a little trippy. Much of it feels like atmospheric filler with mumbled lyrics. It wasn't a very good trip. Were they trying to fill out a record label contract? The opening riff from Knives out sounds like one of their hits. Amnesiac indeed , utterly forgettable. Glasshouse is brutal. 2*

Not my favorite Radiohead album, definitely interesting that’s for sure Top tracks: Life In A Glasshouse

Kinda weird

instrumental?

Radiohead is radiohead

Dark and dramatically artsy-fartsy

i really really like radiohead but this one… i just dont get it

Disappointed by this one. Least favorite Radiohead project by far. Usually these guys hit but not this one. Sounded like songs rejected from kid a

I don’t know any of the songs on this one. Nevemrind, I recognize and enjoy Knives out. The rest is a little too experimental for me to enjoy. 2*. Sax on the last song was interesting.

Pyramid Song and Knives Out are alright but overall the vocals got the better of me in this one.

Alternative, 2001 -> 2

So forgettable, just like every Radiohead record. Never worth the hype. It's all background music with a few moments of actual songs.

4.1/10. It had some elements that I enjoyed but it was too slow and droned on too much for me

Musically, much better than In Rainbows. Thom Yorker’s voice ruins it for me. Maybe 1.5 stars. Favorite track is probably Hunting Bears, which, unironically, is instrumental. Life in a Glass House had so much promise.

Another Radiohead album down, yet I still feel like I haven’t heard a song. Still baffling that people go gaga over this shit.

Not my favorite

I know they have a huge fanbase, but I just found this depressing. Maybe a few more listens, but no.

Boring.

Yippee, it's Radiohead! ... Oh, it's Amnesiac.

I remember OK Computer and The Bends being pretty good albums that I enjoyed. At some point I became a bit dis-enchanted with this band. Albums like this are probably part of the reason. Karma police, arrest this band.

This is particularly whiny and annoying, even for Radiohead. Albarn is barely tolerable through most of this. I'm not surprised I wasn't familiar with this album as I was happy to pass on it.

The album was okay. It felt so sad and whiny. Maybe I need to listen to it when I’m reallyyy going through it lol

Well. It was Radiohead.

I might be wrong - sonst NÖ

I’d rather listen to the bends

Like I said before, I just don’t get post-Creep Radiohead. And you just can’t play music backwards (Like Spinning Plates) to be the next Beatles. I did enjoy hearing an 80-year-old Humphrey Lyttelton & band on the final track - a dirge embellished with some real New Orleans trad jazz. But, apart from that, nothing thrilled me on this.

The instrumentals were good, but I couldn’t stand the singers voice or understand what he was saying. Kind of a downer of an album

Not my favourite and not the best Radiohead effort. Good in parts.

I've never liked Radiohead before and this isn't the album to convince me. A couple of catchy hooks here and there but then the vocals spoilt it for me. Is this even in the top 3 Radiohead albums? I'm pretty sure it's not.

Aburrido, y un punto agotador escuchar a un Thom Yorke tan lastimero. Ni aunque cuente con Humphrey Lyttelton en la disfrutable "Life in a Glasshouse".

According to the Wikipedia page on 1001 Albums, there are four Radiohead albums on this list. I've managed to listen to all four unscathed.

Too weird

Not a fan. Jazz incorporations don't make sense to me. Too experimental. Too electronica. Not structured enough. Just ... don't want to hear it again.

The positives - really nice harmonies, use of different instruments, interesting rhythms - the music was quite good and engaging. The cons - the vocals are awful, like really, really dreadful. I know there’s words, but all I heard was dreadful wails - what an emotionally draining experience. If this had been an instrumental album, easily a 4. The “singing” just ruined it for me, more than cancelled out what was good.

Begin van het album is mij te abstract. Word halverwege wel beter, sommige nummers ook wel nice maar als album zou ik er niet snel naar luisteren Would not buy

Never been too sure about Radiohead. I think of it as kind of background music rather than something I would sit and really concentrate on. Pretty sure I've heard Knives Out before. Not a favourite. I won't listen to it again.

Radiohead is a band that I just can’t get into. I can buy the praise and accolades, but nothing in any of the songs on this album grabbed my attention. Overall, they’re just not a band that I “get” or love any of their songs. I know a lot of it is experimental, but I suppose some things just aren’t for everyone.

A lot of experimental tracks, doesn't seem to have any noticeably consistent theme or flow. As much as I like being pretentious and enjoying pretentious music, I can't back this album as a "oh you should totally listen to this, but you might not get it" to friends. Maybe I can be pretentious by being too good for this album. I do not understand how 'Pyramid Song' is the most popular on this album, was it used in a movie or something? 'You And Whose Army' and ' Life in a Glasshouse' were good, slower songs that I could see throwing into my mega-playlist and enjoying when they show up, if only to be able to keep saying "Yeah, I listen to Radiohead". 2/5 or 55/100

On the whole, not for me. Knives Out okay and album gets slightly better as you go along.

This is an awkward listen, it feels almost like a film score. It's as if I'm watching a live performance through my fingers, searching for something to connect with. There are odd glimpses of familiarity, but overall, the album pushes me away instead of pulling me in. STAND OUT TRACK - Knives Out NUMBER OF BANGERS - 1

Not really my kind of music. Wierd!

2/5. Boring. Depressing. Radiohead.

Not bad but not really my style. I like other Radiohead stuff but this one just didn’t work for me.

Good album. The only stand-outs for me were “You and Whose Army?” and “I Might Be Wrong.” I knew of only “Creep” before so the lyrics not being on that level of flow was a little off-putting, but interested in more. 2.5

Not really into Radiohead.

To experimental. No guitars

It had some innovative noises but was overall bland

With the exception of I Might Be Wrong, this album from Radiohead doesn't really do it for me.

Can't say I've ever been in love with Radiohead. They definitely have some good stuff but this one was pretty melancholy. Likely would not put this in heavy rotation in my house.

Meh... Radiohead is very hit or miss with me. I believe I'm more of a mainstream Radiohead fan & this album doesn't have any of their mainstream hits on it. I'm sure die hard RadioHeadies love this sort of album, but for me, it's a Meh.

Packt - 3 Pyramid - 3 Revolving Door - 1 You and Whose - 3 I Might be Wrong - 3 Knives Out - 3 Morning Bell - 3 Dollars and Cents - 2 Hunting Bears - 3 Like Spinning Plates - 2.5 Life in a Glass House - 1.5 2.5? Overall Like a school kid singing in a school bathroom

I think there’s definitely some interesting tracks here that are worth revisiting but as a whole, I wasn’t too interesting in this project

Before we started this project, if you had asked me, if I liked Radiohead, I would have said, no, with the exception of a few songs. And this album is the reason why. This one seemed a little off the rails, kind of sonic landscape-y. Same sort of thing (but executed differently) I didn’t like when Wilco did after YHF. I very much liked the other three (?) Radiohead albums that we have already heard on this journey.

Each song is pretty good, with a few being very good. but goddamn, i can't take a whole album of this.

There are better Radiohead albums.

Tråkigt

Self-absorbed, tedious anti-music. Would rather listen to my washing machine, which squeaks. Loved Pyramid Song

There’s a few moments where I start to dig the sound and then it just goes flat again. It’s just…..mostly…..boring. The vocals are too drawled out and whiney, too. I just don’t get Radiohead.

Mixed bag. 4/10

It sort of floats about but doesn’t go anywhere. Possibly my least favourite Radiohead album.

Just really not my bag. I do not enjoy listening to Radiohead

Thought I would like Radiohead more but so far super dissappointing 2.5

This record is very forgettable. It's not a kind of sexy legend like myself, Nigel Spackman. A load of boring nonsense that makes you long for a wank in the shower. I winder what spazjazz will make of it.

Im one of the heathens that doesnt get the fuss around this

Please stop this

Not something I would usually listen to, 4/10

track 1. wtf steel drums. now theres electro drums ok. riffs pretty nice oh its getting good now cant tell what he's saying though, better get lyrics up. Its okay so far, probably would skip it if it popped up on my spoti. Its dragging on abit at 2:50. Lyrics are dragging on a abit. 3/10 track 2. oh ive heard this one before. the delay on the piano comin in on the off beat thingys are nice, proper stuttery. Swappin from the major to minor key nice. Here we go drums, oh shit that was nice. Gettin jazzy as fuuuuck. wtf is this timing. That was cool, need to relisten to find out what was goin on with the timing. 8/10 track 3. sounds like bring me the horizon, 0/10 nah what the fuck is this the world isnt ready and i never will be. This is shite 0/10 fucks sake i thought it was ending please end 0/10 again. track 4. like this intro so far really fuckin gooochi. shit we goin heavy lovin this. Decent 6/10 track 5. desert sounds. electric drums again ffs. this album sounds a lot like the stone roses in places. this songs not the bad actually so far but something different has to happen soon. Still dont know wtf hes saying. Readin the lyrics because nothing much more is happening with the music. Lyrics repeat a lot and dont mean much but probably pretend they mean a lot. Half way through the song and theres no more lyrics so might skip through it. but wait no its gone silent and we got some shit happening. This shit is way more interesting than the rest of the song, wasted half my life with the first half and finish like that, fuck off. 5/10 track 6. chords are going mental on this bad boy love it. why is he drowning dogs. now hes squashin heads and cooking them up. drums have been solid throughout this when they've not been midi. This is so repetative its dragggiiiiing on so long, the chords are nice and that but change it up for fucks sake and stop drowning dogs 5/10 track 7. We got mad chords drifting out of the key again. It sounds like travis or whatever he's called, that you've got a secret smile song. The harpsicord is creepy as fuck. Its okay this one fair creepy. whats he saying here? cut the kids in half? just checked ye he is. 6/10 RELEASE MEEEEH track 8. nice panning between the chords whatever the word is. not got a lot to say about this sorry. gettin chaotic here overlappin vocals now we chillin with juicy bass lines. drums have been so good on this i say again. IM GONNA STOP LISTENING HALF WAY THROUGH THIS SONG SORRY ITS GETTING LATE. MY END RATING WONT BE ACCURATE XOXOXO

Wasn’t down my lane, apparently it’s better to start with their other albums. I can maybe potentially see their appeal though

Couple of good tracks but just couldn’t get into it.

i was excited because ive heard of these guys before but i actually didnt like it

I just don't get Radiohead. They are super-popular so it's a "me" thing, but I really don't understand their music.

I’m not a Radiohead fan but this album is just mediocre. It’s completely forgettable, definitely not Radiohead’s best.

Ah Radiohead. I have to be in the right space to enjoy it and that space doesn't show up much. I could live a fine life without feeling like I missed out had I never heard it. Not a bad album, and it definitely had a space in my life when I was a younger human - but now it's too moody & whiney for me to want to hear it again.

Couldn’t get through it in one listening… played it at the end of my work day and was kinda burnt out anyway. I know some talk about Radiohead as an acquired taste so hopefully I can get into them in the future. Hoping Kid A will show up soon so I can try that one out. They give me Pink Floyd vibes and I adore Pink Floyd so I’m sure they’ll turn around for me!

I think radiohead is just not for me. This is so mid.

i found it to be pretty boring. No Tracks stood out either.

2/5. I don’t usually mind Radiohead albums, but they begin to become repetitive to me. Amnesiac really didn’t differ itself too much from their other albums, but I did particularly like the song “Hunting Bears.”

A bit long and droning, experimental millennium rock. Complex, but not my go to sit down kinda music. I enjoyed Kid A more than this one. Listened twice, good but doesnt grab me.

No way this is Radiohead. Sounds like some poorly created electronic music on Garage Band

Turn of the century electronica/exotica/cabaret combined with turn of the century singer-songwriter. I didn't find it very interesting. I do like that they did a track with Humphrey Lyttelton though, it’s the best on the album.

Pretty boring album even for ambient electronic

This was an extremely uneven album. Almost half of the songs are nonsense and feels like they're there to tie the good songs together or set the mood of the album, one quarter is quite good - like 'Knives Out', 'I Might Be Wrong', 'Dollars and Cents', and the other quarter is ok. How do you rate that? I think I'll actually give it a strong 2 for once instead of weak 3. I just feel like the weak songs drag down the overall impression way too much to ignore.

another Radiohead album and again I didn't like it... some songs were way worse than In Rainbows but a couple of them are quite passable

I think they're geniuses but this totally misses the mark for me.

Forgot to write any tunes lol

The worst era of Radiohead.

Sounded all the same, anxious and noisy

Radiohead is not a band for me it seems. I'm beginning to wonder if they're a "you had to be there" band.

Who needs Radiohead on a Monday morning, especially when returning to work after some lovely annual leave?! Not me, that’s for sure. I just don’t understand them or their music.

I'm probably supposed to like this, but no.

I’m just not into the whole Radiohead vibe. I want to like them, I just don’t.

Bit depressing for the summertime vibes

ive not heard kid a, so this is kinda contextless - doesnt have most of the stuff that i like in radiohead fave track: knives out?

This was fine, definitely not their best or my favorite by them.

I knew within 20 seconds of this starting that I was going to hate it. And so it came to pass.

I know it's meant to be a big album but it was relaxing and a bit boring to me, sorry 2 stars.

I wanted to like this when it came out, but I don’t really enjoy the art noise of Radiohead. Kid A was probably a bit better.

I'm seemingly immune to the charms of this band. I scored Limp Bizkit one star higher than this album the other day. You know what? I'm not wrong.

Listened Before? N I've never heard any part of this album before. I believe this is the 4th or 5th Radiohead album I've gotten off this list now, and it's my least favorite. Not bad, just not anything that stands out. It's slow and weird and I'm not high enough for it. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: Knives Out

A little out there for me to just have on and listen to. 2.5

Kind of melancholy, atmospheric

Genesis for Pixies fans. Now, reconciling the tension between alt rock and prog rock is no mean feat. But I'm real tired of hearing how everything before Radiohead was banging on rocks, while everything after is a cheap knockoff. I Might Be Wrong can stay.

Sleepy stuff. However, I will say that the album is appropriately titled. Five minutes after it was done playing, I couldn't remember why I'd listened to it in the first place.

Pretty good

Ehkä radiohead ei vaan ole mun juttu. Ei niin hyvä levy ekalla kuuntelulla. En tyrmää, voisi kasvaa ajan kanssa mutta nyt 2☆

No more Radiohead

There are some bands that you have to see live for the hype to make any sense and Radiohead is one of them. But since I am reviewing their album and not their concerts, I have to say this was pretty disappointing. Felt like the same whiny, boring song 11 times in a row.

Weird and interesting.

jag tyckte tyvärr att det här albumet var ganska dåligt

Jeez. Okay, fine. Radiohead makes atmospheric, experimental, cerebral music. They're somewhat too cool for school and not everyone will get the music their trying to make. If you get it, they're amazing and you, as a listener, are so intelligent - a true audiophile! Because this music is only for REAL music fans. If you don't like it, you're not a REAL music fan.

Depressing

Great, the outtakes album for Kid A, the album that sounds like a bunch of outtakes. There is about half a really good album across both and there were some songs on this I enjoyed (pyramid song is a belter) but haway Radiohead, you can't just pad it into a double album with a bunch of offcuts. I feel like I'm really close to being a big Radiohead fan but this sort of thing puts me off.

I'm not a big Radiohead fan, I always feel Tom Yorke is wailing more than he's actually singing. Thought this album was just okay but so much of it seems like them fucking about rather than anything cohesive. Highlights: You And Whose Army? I Might Be Wrong

Too edgy for me, what happened to make it simple? Best song: I might be wrong Worst song: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors

Who goes to see Radiohead?

Alkitran.

I struggle with Radiohead a bit, to be honest. Find it very up and down, a lot of miserable dirges with a few real highlights where things come together for me. Unfortunately, on this album, they don't really. There's a decent little stretch from You and Whose Army to Knives Out, but other than that not a lot that works for me. That said, I probably will listen to it a bit more - I haven't heard this one before, and it does feel like the kind of album that's a grower rather than a shower. Feel a bit mean giving it a 2, but doesn't do enough for me to get to 3.

The Bends and OK Computer are close to works of genius. Everything since then leaves me cold. This one sounds like he's boring himself to sleep. If I ever feel the need to get depressed I'll spin this one.

Just not my vibes.

sad vibezz

How very forgettable. Don’t get the fuss about these guys, I love The Bends but find pretty much everything else they’ve done boring and whiny. 2 stars for the let down from the hype.

Är inte Radiohead rätt så överskattade???

Not great

These guys clearly obviously have got something special about them because of how they’re regarded and I’m trying my very best to get on board This one didn’t really do it for me

Probably a 2.5. I imagine it gets better on more listens. People have said to me if you like pink floyd then you might like radiohead. Not sure about that.

My least favourite Radiohead album we will have on this list. For me it starts to get good too late. I think from ‘I Might Be Wrong’ its sound but that is track 5. I do love Radiohead though and this is one of those times I am comparing it to what they can do rather than this list.

I like Radiohead, I didn't like this. Really weird vibe, not for me. Take me back to OK Computer or The Bends

Amnesiac is filled with Industrial sounds that have a slow, sleepy like quality to them. It sounds like it could soundtrack a modern contemporary art installation. Pretty boring overall with at times wailing like singing heard over the top of the soundtrack. Best: Knives Out Worst: Like Spinning Plates

I try to like Radiohead. It's my wife's favorite band. But they just don't do it for me. It's too monotonous. It gets points for originality and composition. But just not something I want listen too again. But I will, cause my wife will have it playing.

I love Radiohead but this was disappointing from them. Gutted.

Rock alternativo. Bastante coñazo.

Really not my cup of tea 2*

Dreary. But appreciate there is some atmosphere to it.

Not my cup of tea. Not that bad though

Why does this band have so many albums on this list! This shit sucks.

4/10. I just don't really understand the appeal of Radiohead.

I couldn’t get into this one. Very experimental. Similar to Kid A, but not as good.

2 stars

Blaah, omaan makuun aivan liian taiteellista paskaa

Niin tyypillistä Radioheadia, johon en oikeen ikinä oo päässy sisälle. Mun korvaan tekotaiteellinen klangi

Better than I recall, but I just can shake that "Kid A offcuts" feel. Also, knowing what happened next, it looks like a lazy way to complete their EMI contract. Sure, 'Sardines', 'Pyramid Song' and 'Knives Out' are good songs, but everything else is throwaway, apologies to the late Humph. The world didn't a second version of Morning Bell.

i'm disappointed i didn't care for this album. i listened to it several times in the hopes i would change my mind. this album's sound was beautiful and took you on a journey, but i think it was too lethargic and mellow for me. my teammate said this album had an "ethereal" sound, which i wholeheartedly agree. all songs connect with each other through the mellow tone. i was impressed with "life in a glasshouse." i enjoyed the addition of the humphrey lyttelton band to add some great jazz to that song! "knives out" has got to be the stand out and puts me right in my emo feelings. but overall, a lackluster album.

I try to like it but it's just so depressing. I can see it worming it's way into your brain on multiple plays, but I just can't do that to myself.

Worst torture

Not my type though

previous radiohead album left me completely indifferent. this one didn't, the instrumentals are very weird and somewhat compelling? so this album could have been a fascinating experimental electronica sound that i would have wanted to engage with. but then the guy starts singing, if you can call it that! this voice! my god! how can you people stand it! makes it all the more disappointing that the instrumentals really could be interesting in another context.

I never understood all the hype behind Radiohead and I still don’t

Not for me.

I liked Knives Out but pretty much nothing else

I listened to this with my 9 year old and he liked this more than me but noted that the music was good but the singing all sounded the same. That is as apt a crticism of Radiohead as I can make. The music can be interesting but when its just Tom moping his way through it really drones on amd is not enjoyable nor is it unique or groundbreaking. The best song "Hunting for Bears" is really short but it does break from the rest of the album by having a different musical style and no mopey singing.

Track seven and I can’t take this shit anymore. I’ll never understand why people love this band so much.

I love Radiohead but not this album tbh… Too obscure for me I fear. Fav song is ‘Life In a Glasshouse’.

Gran oportunidad para recordar lo garompa y sobrevalorada que me parece Radiohead. Un espanto…

strange

Brutal. Radiohead is crazy overrated

Very strange, experimental, and … amelodic.

-anstrengend -komisch -2/10

Yup, more artless wailing by Yorke. Just sounds like a man on a crazy amount of opioids attempting to keep himself awake by reciting a soliloquy. At least In Rainbows’ instrumentation had even the slightest crumb of something to latch onto; here, Yorke’s failing attempts at resisting anesthesia are presented with the saddest excuse for electronic “experimentation” ever given the label. I can’t get anything out of Radiohead; I am repelled on a genetic level.

Pulk/Pull Revolving doors is interesting - cheap trick with using left / right channels? I might be wrong also has an interesting mix. Spinning plates was terrible Did not enjoy this album.

I’ve never been a fan of Radiohead but was excited to give them a real shot. However, I really struggled to get through this album and was thankful it was only 44 minutes long.

Why is this album on the list? Theres already been Radiohead and far better than this maudlin whining. It could have been better at first I thought it was potentionally dark and atmospheric but it wasnt, just whining

ok here we go. not really in the mood for radiohead today but oh well. at least the first song has a sardine reference. if only the whole album was about fish. pyramid song--unique pulk/pull revolving door--i hate this. oh here would you like an anxiety attack? four minutes of wanting to vomit that i will never get back. you and whose army--ok better than the last one. still not great. the vocals are, not mumbling, but like sing-mumbling. mumbling but sustained and in tune? every sound is equally low volume and voiced and stretched out? i dunno i can't understand anything regardless. final stretch!!!! oh nice there's a clarinet! thank goodness that is over. 1/5, not even a sardine reference and a clarinet can redeem that. re: listening notes for pulk/pull.

After the first song, I thought that maybe I was wrong about Radiohead and rhat they weren't that bad. However by the end of the 3rd song I realised that I wasn't wrong and that i really don't like them.

Pleurnicheries expérimentales sans intérêt

jesus christ

Good album to sleep to. Only really ever heard of Creep from them, and now I know why. No good catchy songs at all. Sleepfest.

‘What if I had a mental breakdown early in the album and then the rest of the songs were just my breathing exercises?’ One of these songs gave me actual motion sickness. Also I listen to music largely for the lyrics and I kept thinking I could almost hear words but I couldn’t which was deeply unsatisfying. If I had to rank it based on the individual songs, I think it overall would get a 2. But ranking it based on my experience with the album as a whole, I have to give it a 1. I could not fully recover from listening to Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors. Season: Psychosis/Late Autumn Favorite Song: Knives Out

boring af.

My life would be better if I never had to hear Radiohead again

THIS IS MY LAST RADIOHEAD ALBUM WOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 RADIOHEAD FUCKING SUCKS Revolving Doors sounded like a 90's adaptation of any song by Throbbing Gristle. Outside of that, it's just the normal whiney Radiohead slop I've come to know and hate. This is probably their most uninspired album I've listened to, it really has nothing interesting going on about it. It sounds like all the off-cuts from Kid A that were too boring to make it onto an already shit album. Thank fuck I don't have to listen to these vapid cunts ever again. NEXT

The worst 43min in my whole life , i love radio head but this album is shit really bad i don’t understand anything when he talk and the only song that is good is Hunting Bears because he doesn’t speak so its just shit bullshit

Makes me feel like im in a dentist waiting room. Maybe I'm not smart enough, but Radiohead grates on me and this album is the personification of annoyance.

Like.an Epstein Island soundtrack lyrically. What the heck.

i did not really enjoy this album if i had to pick a song i would pick you and whose army

Abgesehen vom Creep kann ich wenig damit anfangen

I do like a few other Radiohead albums but this unfortunately was not one of them

I guess I'm not a fan of Radiohead "experimenting" because some of the songs here (Spinning Blades - Revolving Doors) just sound horrendous. I couldn't hear anything from other Radiohead songs I liked. Knives Out was the only salvagable track here and even that sounds very uninspired. But then *Life in a Glass House* came at the last minute and by no means saved this album but at least left a nice taste in my mouth.

Not a hater of Radiohead but I did not like this album

Just go listen to Give Up by The Postal Service instead. It does twee, turn of the century futuristic electronica so much better, with so much more impact. With pretty much every other noteable Radiohead record already in the list, why include this one? Like, what is “Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors”? Cyclical, dreary, boring. Good Radiohead is meditative, thoughtful, and moving. This feels like excess noodling. I can’t even call it growing pains in their constant sonic evolution, as they did that hybrid electronica/progressive rock sound better both before and after this record. In the midst of this relatively horrible album streak, I already hit my quota for overtly sad person music last week with that Silver Jews record I surprisingly enjoyed. This misses that mark in totality. Maybe a 2/5 for the sum of its parts, but sometimes you gotta boom an album. 1/5. “Morning Bell/Amnesiac” sent me over the edge

Awful. He can’t sing. Music boring as hell

'You and Whose Army?' and 'Life in a Glasshouse' could not make up for how much the vibe of this album grates at me, something about the sound on most of the other songs just.. it's not for me, I tried one and half times, a friend really likes them, but they're not my cup of tea.

Terrible

not the best.. eh I could probably fall asleep to this, good thing?? Update: did fall asleep half way

Meandering electronic music and lethargic, whiny vocals. "I Might Be Wrong" is OK. "Dollars and Cents" is OK. The lows are quite low here and the highs are generally not all that high. My previous exposure to Radiohead is very limited, but if it's generally like this, it's very much not for me.

This was not for me. You and Whose Army? and Life in a Glasshouse were my favorites on the album. I liked pieces of those songs.

Did not enjoy any of those tracks.

Instantly off the bat, first song starts off weird and that intro was WAY too long. But I guess I'll continue through the album if I can bring myself to finish the first song first lol. Also, they've got a fucked stance on the genocide Israel are doing to Palestine so they have to fight their way up to a better rating than me knocking points off for things I don't like. Yeah, continued on in the album and its not a vibe. Literally would give this a 2/10 if I could, I think its just ranked highly because of the big brand name that radiohead are. Yeah didn't finish it, couldn't bring myself to do so, sorry.

A shoo-in for top 10 most overrated bands. Around the time this came out, a lot of these guitar bands were feeling like they weren’t cool anymore and talking about how much they’d always loved electronic music. Then they made bad albums with supposed electronic influences like this one. Experimental if you know nothing about music.

so whiny and depressing

Most of the songs on this album are skippable at best, and several made me wish for death. Pulk/Pull Revolving Door is kind of awesome, but even it is uneven as hell.

Too experimental for my taste. But it's my first time listening to Radiohead; never really gave them a chance so it's good to finally know what they're all about.

Interesting. A bit too experimental and uninteresting to my taste. Very Boring. Sort of Enjoyed: You and Whose Army? Rating: 1 star

dont like it. 1

Gratuitous overindulgent wankstain. The 21st Century's answer to Pink Floyd when nobody asked the question.

The Mystery of Why Radiohead Are So Popular (Part V)

I didn't think it could get any worse for a radiohead album, but then this popped up. Garbage. Just garbage this album.

yuck not radiohead's finest work

God the wailing is annoying

Traaaaaaashhhhhh bro

This is what I mean when I say Radiohead fucking sucks. Best Song: Knives Out Rating: 2.0/10 Stars: 1

Ah stark reminder that Radiohead at times are utter pish. Sounds like Thom woke up and drank his own koolaid… again!

Sorry Radiohead. This 1 was ment for the Public Image album under you. Sometimes, that’s how the cookie crumbles.

Hot ass

When Radiohead is good, they are great. I enjoy many Radiohead songs. Even on this album, 'I might be wrong' is pretty cool. But when they're bad, they are one of my least favorite bands of all time. So much morose tuneless wailing. So much winking smugness. Most of this album is just half-hearted electronic bullshit masquerading beneath a veneer of unearned grandiosity. Playing a song backwards isn't cool. It's dumb and it sounds like shit.

Dreary atonal wankery

Did not enjoy it. Comes across as pretty pretentious to me

Duck Radiohead

This album sucks. Hate radiohead

Насправді, я хоч не любитель,але є такі пісні,зо чіпляють,альбом справді великий,2 з 5,далі музика така,поганенька

I legitimately tried. 4 songs I made all the way through and still didn't like them skipped through the rest of the songs half way through at best.

I'm a simple man. I get Radiohead; I give one star.

I’m not even going to dignify this with a review.

Did not get on with this, was giving me a headache, felt very experimental

I like Pyramid Song. The rest was like a big fuck you to my ears.

How the mighty fall!

For me top depressive

I'm just not a fan of Radiohead. And usually it's mostly because I don't like Thom Yorke's singing. But with this album, the music is just so formless. Like what exactly is this? Don't get me wrong, I like plenty of experimental music, but it feels like there's no entry point to get into these songs. They just sort of start, then there's some meandering, and eventually it ends. There's frequently not much of a groove, there's no hooks, nothing to grab onto. It's almost like each song is a prelude for a song which doesn't exist. I don't see any reason to listen to this again.

I had no idea Radiohead made such hideous music. This feels like a social experiment. 1/5

Could not finish. Truly awful

Total snoozefest

oh my god snooooze

Nee, Radioheads Musik hab ich auch schon in meiner Jugend nicht gefeiert (bis auf wenige Lieder). Hab ich keinen Zugang zu und die Stimme des Sängers ist unerträglich

not my type

After ending last week on a low note, I was really looking forward to starting this week off with something better. So, you can imagine my disappointment (and horror, frankly) as I ran headfirst into this monster first thing on a Monday morning. NOTE TO ADMIN: Do you think this is Radiohead's best album? Or even their second best? No? Then why is this particular whiney drivel taking up valuable space that other artists could and should be occupying? New rule: no one gets more than two albums within the 1,001. If you're doing your job correctly, the two albums you've selected should be sufficient representation of what an artist has to offer - thus empowering the listeners to track down deeper cuts, if interested, while not burdening them with your enigmatic agenda. So, pick your champions and make your peace. It's time to make room for more artists who should be on the list but aren't - even if that takes a little bit of effort and further research on your part.

This is now the third Radiohead album, and I’m hitting my threshold for how much I can tolerate. At least I can say I have given them enough chances to back my opinion when I never had listened to them. Radiohead sucks.

Radiohead sucks!!!

C30, Karlsruhe - Landau, Deutschland. Das Album ist ein Folterwerkzeug.

Not my cup of tea

Really disappointing album. Pretentious, empty, boring, annoying, soulless. It holds no value, not even as an experiment. 2/10

me no likey. too sad. now I have headache. smile more, please. thank you. Not one song stood out to me where I could tell you oh! yeah! that song had this good bit in it. It was all just mushy like applesauce without cinnamon.

I'll be magnanimous and give Radiohead 2 albums on this list (the correct answers are OK Computer and Kid A). I've had OK Computer and Rainbows and now this. Combine that with TWO Nick Drake albums, TIM Buckley, and other dreck, and im starting to be concerned about the list maker's mental health. I mean we're clearly clinically depressed, right? 1

kinda ass ngl

would have given Amnesiac a zero if possible

whining is my absolute least favorite sound.

Brutal, just brutally bad. I don't get the hype. I never will.

I've now discovered the reason that nobody talks about Radiohead's later albums... this is utter shit. I could stand Thom Yorke's whiny vocals in his earlier work, but he sounds like he's about to climax in this one, I can't take it anymore!

The other two Radiohead albums I've had (The Bends and Ok Computer) I gave a 2. This one is worse. Can't understand what he says most of the time, and the songs are noisy and repetitive. There was some nice music in I Might Be Wrong, and Knives Out was decent. Other than that, pass. Best song: Knives Out

Whiny bullshit

What's worse than listening to Radiohead? Thinking you've been listening to Radiohead for the past hour and thinking "man, even for Radiohead, this sucks!" and then discovering its a completely different band. Then the continuing disappointment that you still have to listen to Radiohead because your folks didn't raise a quitter.

Sounds like the soundtrack of a video game I wouldn’t play.

Neću ovo ni slušati, pretjerali ste. 1/5, 1/10

That's it, I can't give it more opportunities, I don't like Radiohead and that's fine
