Lurches between very-90s and timeless. Crisp songs, great musicianship. Will reward further listens. Amazing voice. Highlights: Lilac Wine, Lover, You Should Have Come Over.
I never got into this one. It’s grungier than Nevermind, and darker. I enjoyed it this time round, but it’s not an easy listen. Made me think of the Manics ‘Holy Bible’ at several points - this one was released just a year earlier. Some highlights but not as complete as Nevermind.
It’s Belinda! Post-punky pop. Some great choruses and bass lines in particular. LA surf rock moments. Occasionally sound like REM, especially the last song. Enjoyable.
Spooky jazz. A much better album than I thought. And I’m finally embracing Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors!
