Reviews (page 7 of 14)

Seems like the exact midpoint between their early, funk-driven albums and their more melodic (better) later style. It could definitely use some culling, but there are enough great tracks (in the first 2/3 of the album especially) to warrant a good score. HOT TAKE: Breaking The Girl is low-key one of the best Chilis tracks. Just terrific.

This has some real classic tracks, but I can't shake the feeling of being molested by Anthony Keidis.

This album makes me feel like a warm prepackaged waffle coming out of the toaster oven on a Saturday morning. The clicks, the beeps, the crackling, but most importantly, the aromas. Pure contentment.

Great album but drags on a bit.

A great reminder of teenage years. Funky, fun, lewd, rocking.

Better than I remember

An excellent mix of classic rock'n'roll and hip-hop\funk. The only components I have a problem with are the lyrics and vocals on the more hip-hop-style tracks - they are cheeky to the degree of occasionally being obnoxious.

Ah, one of the most famous albums of the 90's. This album shows the Chili Peppers at their peak creative form and thanks to producer Rick Rubin as a cohesive and great sounding band. But, clocking at 72 minutes, it's almost a double album and with it come double album problems. There are songs that feel like filler on this classic, and a small cull to make it 45 minutes might not have been misplaced.

Funky. So apparently there is a good chilli peppers album after all (how cheeky of me lol).

The Chilis are no longer cool to like, however at the time they were hot. This has hits and is well packaged, produced and performed. Relentless, assured and in your face. I like their energy - bass and drum relentless with a funky guitar and basically wrapping lyrics. A lot of the albums in this 1001 are low key and unknown. This is the opposite.

As you’d expect really. Less anthemic than their later material and a little more introspective at times. This is the jewel in their crown imo!

Funky. Soulful. Fun as hell. Addiction, lust, love, philosophy of life. Hits from start to finish. Flea's bass and Fruchante's guitar are awe inspiring, Kiedis's lyrics are insane at times and deeply powerful others. Chad Smith holds it all together with precision drumming throughout.

The hits are here, but it gets repetitive after a bit.

Was good, not the best for studying though

Really got into the Chilli Peppers around the time of Mothers Milk. This was another good album of a bit more mainstream. Awesome live band.

Some brilliant songs on this album, but it’s also a bit all over the place in parts. Some of the rap style songs are a bit cringe now too.

Can't help think that it is no coincidence that I got Jane's Addiction instantly followed up with this RHCP album. They are very similar in their notoriety, musicality, and timelessness. Most Peppers albums do not feel like they are of their time, and this one is no exception. What a record. It's hard to believe they were able to ever come close to this one again, and they kind of routinely do reinvent themselves. Nothing beats them when the are at full strength with John Frusciante. There's definitely something missing without him. Crazy dude though. And Flea's bass lines are hopping on this thing. Anyway, This one has something for everyone, and while I'm not a devoted fan of this band, this album is something else, and deserves to be heard. It grows a little long in the tooth as it rolls on but the energy never stops.

I forgot how much I listened to this in high school, I hadn't thought about these songs in a while but they came right back to me. I like the first half a lot, it gets hit or miss partway through. I think there are several songs that sound like b-sides and could have made way for a shorter, tighter album. I gravitate toward the funkier songs like "If You Have to Ask," "Funky Monks," "Blood Sugar Sex Magik," "Apache Rose Peacock." You can almost break the songs up into groups, there are a handful of more acoustic-based songs, chief of which for me is "Breaking the Girl," a really excellent song. There are some massive hits on this album, especially "Under the Bridge" which kind of lives on a stratosphere of its own. "Suck My Kiss" is great, "Give It Away" is great. I heard that story about Anthony Kiedis writing "Give It Away" after his girlfriend gave him a jacket of hers that he thought was cool back in high school, and it stuck with me. "Sir Psycho Sexy" is ridiculous but it's super funky, really memorable and musically it's a great listen. In summary, this is a really good album but the extra fat keeps it from being a 5 star album for me.

This came out when I was 11 years old and "Under The Bridge" was one of the first songs I ever had a deeper emotional reaction to. It showed me that music had a much wider range of expressive possibilities than I had previously thought. It likely had alot to do with the simple coincidence of my own emotional development at the time, but it will always be an important song for me for that reason. The rest of the album is, on the whole, a fun, all over the place, almost wreckless affair. In a way I love it for having those extremes contained within it. Sort of runs the gamut emotionally. A quintessential example of CD era bloat, but I can't fault them for the excitement they must have felt at this creative peak - with a great producer behind them who understood them and encouraged them to grow. It's also a great example of an album recorded in a house, where life and work temporarily converged into the same thing. I'm a huge fan of this method and tend to romanticize the records which are produced this way. Certainly not a perfect record by any means, but chock full of passion and some real stunners and jams throughout.

6.5/10 Fave track: Suck my kiss

Fun album. I remember loving it when it came out as so many other great albums including Nevermind came out around the same month. Really nice depth and wide range of songs, the band were definitely at their peak when recording this and they have never captured that same energy for me as they did here. Some of the songs grate after 30 years but that is forgiven as the rest of the album is worth it

As always with the Chili Peppers, you've got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the princes. The gems here are among the best they've ever done. My favorite track is a lesser known one, "I Could Have Lied". I loved it so much I used to play it during my on-air shift on college radio station 90.3 KRNU. The CD we had included an edited version of the song, which featured a guitar riff played during the line, "I fucked up now" to block the profanity. This still isn't my favorite Chili Pepper album (that honor may forever belong to "By The Way", although I tend to ride hard for "One Hot Minute" as well). A big part of me wants to push this to a 5, but there are just too many skips. A five doesn't ask you to kiss that many frogs.

What classic. This was the peppers at the height of their powers before they went of and did calinfornibollox and all those terrible albums. It's weird, its funky its sex obsessed I fell for this album as a teenager and return to it periodically. Funky slap bass and cosmic groves.

Better than expected, my expectations having been set by all the later shit that they came out with. I had forgotten how good this is

At last! An album which deserves a spot on this list!

Yet another 90s nostalgia kickback! Funk rock, love it. But the album length felt a bit too long now.

Starts different from what I expected, ended good.

RHCP, to me, have always had such a unique, signature sound; there just isn't any mistaking them for anyone else, and this album cemented that sound for them. While some other bands do the "funk rock" sound, RHCP still stands out among them, and is probably the most known for this sound. Simultaneously, with this iconic album, the helped to usher in the 90s alternative craze, and would be solidified as powerhouses in that genre for the next two decades. This album has some of the band's greatest work on it -- the funkiest guitar riffs coupled with fun funky vocals, as well as memorable lyrics. True to the album name, I never realized just how many sexually suggestive lyrics danced throughout the songs on this album. Overall, it's just a fun, interesting, and catchy listen. Not every song is a hit single, but every song is fun to listen to and I wasn't tempted to skip anything -- a feat for an album clocking in at nearly 1 hour, 20 minutes. An album definitely worthy of this project!

Cool funk album, very dirty

I've heard most of these songs a million times over again, but never sequentially in the album. It was a cool mix of classic Chili Pepper vibes and EXTREMELY funkyness that they lean in to from time to time. I personally enjoy Californiacation more, but that could be nostalgia talking.

Very good

Dynamite. Groovy. Raw. Fun.

Fun throwback. Probably their best

such an incredibly fun album. it’s funky, it’s silly, it’s camp! i love RHCP. this album has some of my all-time favorite RHCP songs, too (such as “Breaking the Girl” <3333) do i think this is the best RHCP album? no. but it’s still undeniably entertaining. can’t understand what Kiedis is saying? SO WHAT!! let yourself be immersed in his gibberish. if you don’t like this album, you’re probably a reaaaally boring person. you must be fun at parties…..

I am completely shocked right now. Leila, who is in my group, loves RHCP. I’ve always clowned on them. She made me listen to their music and I started at the beginning because I knew I liked their earlier stuff more. And it was great, I admit. Then… I reached this album. I hated it. I couldn’t even finish it. My complaints started and ended with Anthony. So damn annoying. That was only a few months ago. I’m not sure what changed but I actually enjoyed this album. 1: the production is awesome. I love it. 2: the instrumentals are (mostly) incredible. I already knew that going into it though. But now… the vocals. They are a lot more tolerable than I remember. It’s kind of…. camp. I learned that word from Leila. He’s still flat every once in a while but it’s not awful, nor is it frequent. I’ve always been a fan of his cartoonish rap style, though. So when there isn’t a melody, I’m diggin it. The LYRICS THOUGH OH MY LORD. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS DUDE TALKING ABOUT. Once again, though, I tried to tune it out and write it off as “camp”. I really think giving the album a fair shake helped me enjoy it so much more. Only cons: Lyrics, some pitchy points, a little bit bloated, under the bridge. I don’t care what any of you say. Under the Bridge is an awful song that should not exist.

2/28/22

Yep banger

Great listen, although gets a little bit samey towards the end - another one to listen to again

Good but not my favourite chillis album. My view of this band also changed after reading Anthony Keides’ autobiography.

Surprisingly varied! Best RHCP?

Tää on kyl must Californicationin kanssa RHCP:tä parhaimmillaan. Funkkaavaa ja jotenkin kilahtanutta rokkii olematta samaan aikaan liian hörhöö. Ekoja levyjä mitä opin kuuntelee CD:nä ja lapsena diggailin tästä kovasti. Diggailen edelleen. Pakko oli vanhempana ostaa vinyylinäkin. Ihan muutaman biisin vois karsii — sit tää olis kyl jumalainen. 4/5

Eindelijk wat niveau…

The production is great. I find myself surprised due to TRHCP actually have varied songs. TIL

So probably the most lyrical of all Chilli's LP's some great tracks here with clear and unambiguous messages throughout. Love "Under The Bridge" and "Give It Away". You can see the links, no doubt through Rick Rubin's influence, to Hip Hop within the mixes here. Not in my collection but a justifiable choice I think.

That Bass!

Chili's are always a win.

I miss when mainstream records could be this successful and this shaggy

Listened across the weekend including on the drive back from whistler after skiing! Really grew on me as I listened. They're a great band, frusciante is a genius, drums are great, slick wear coast rock with a dash of hip hop.

And good start for a good journey.

The album that showed the depth and range of the band.

Rolling Stone has Flea as the 22nd greatest bassist of all time. That seems criminal to me. This album has one of my favorite RHCP songs ever (Under the Bridge) and least favorite (Suck My Kiss). But I do enjoy this album as a whole, love the funk/punk vibe of it.

Funk turned up to 11. Obviously there are the great classics like "Suck My Kiss", "Give It Away", "Under the Bridge", and the self titled "Blood Sugar Sex Magik". I didn't know how many tracks this album had, but there are a number of others I will revisit. Hard to put this up against Stadium Arcadium, which is a solid listen all the way through. Best track: Under the Bridge / Give It Away (depending on your mood)

Liked it. Funkier than I remembered it being. Flea is a god on bass, really heard him throughout the album. Good shit.

Prototypical RHCP album. A few amazing classics and lots of ok filler.

better than I expected, I wouldn’t really call myself a fan of this band but this album actually was pretty great, I’ll give it an 8/10, I’ll also give Californication a listen sometime

Already knew it, flea and john make it amazing

3.5/5 it's terrible and I love it

It was a good album. I have heard this album before and still enjoy it. There are two mega hits on it.

I was going back and forth between giving this 3 and 4 stars, but I ended up giving it 4 because that's what I did with Jeff Buckley and I think I enjoyed the two albums about the same. I honestly enjoyed BSSM more than I thought I would, seeing as my main exposure to RHCP was Californication and I only liked some of the songs off it. There were definitely some better parts (the beginning especially had crisp transitions and was absolutely solid) and some parts that seemed to drag a little (the songs between Under The Bridge and Sir Psycho Sexy are very forgettable), but ultimately I like it a lot just because of the sexy distorted slap bass that made you say umph (looking at you minute 1:58 of Power of Equality). Favorites: If you have to ask, under the bridge, I could have lied Least favorites: Apache rose peacock, suck my kiss Other notes - Crisp production overall - Funky Monks is a jam and the "crudeness" of the bass/guitar at the beginning reminds me of The Violent Femmes - Under the Bridge is objectively really good - Sir Psycho Sexy is kinda weird but I like the atmosphere it creates - wtf is up with some of the names on this album (and the album itself) - Breaking the girl sounds like that one Christmas song We Three Kings lmao

Solid. Like, at least as solid as a rock. I dunno, I'm not good at rating things

I never had listened to this album all the way through before, it's certainly a lot funkier than the ones I have listened to (which makes sense cause like half the songs have the word funk in them). It's a fun album to listen to though, prefer the not funky songs like "I could have lied" and "under the bridge".

Great album

Some classic tracks. 4.5 / 5

The classic songs are classic, but the rest just makes the album too damn long.

Epic tracks on this bit feel a bit basic and samey compared to their more recent work. Still a banger but not a 5.

A classic album from my childhood, but more songs I didn’t remember than I thought there’d be

So fun—even though I was a teen when this came out, I didn’t remember all these tracks on one album. The Chili Peppers have fun and you can tell.

at one point reminded me of spring awakening mmmnn my back hurts pretty 4.5/5, very groovy head bangers

Great album, a lot of classics

simultaneously very good and pretty annoying

Enjoyed this one

I would say this is RHCP's fourth best album, after Californication, Stadium Arcadium and By The Way. These three records are all easily 5 stars, as I can honestly say not a single one contains a bad or mediocre track. This might be due to nostalgia, as I discovered the Peppers when I first got into music and tried to develop my own taste instead of listening to what my parents liked, but I can't help but adore them. Blood Sugar Sex Magik contains some of the best tracks RHCP ever created, such as the amazingly catchy and energetic Give It Away Now, the emotional and epic Under The Bridge, and the classic guitar riffs on My Lovely Man, but there are a handful of tracks I am not in love with. Examples of tracks I have lukewarm feelings towards are The Power of Equality due to Kiedis' vocal performance, the sleep-inducing I Could Have Lied, and the creepy/weird vocal effects on Mellowship. Besides that, it is a solid 4/5.

not as much california like their other albums :(

Not the biggest fan of RHCP but a great album nonetheless

So there are many phenomenal songs here, but for me there are certainly a few fillers in there too. Songs like "Power of equality", "Mellowship slinky..." & "Naked in the rain" are good, just don't think they stand up on their own. These "fillers" just sound like generic chili's to me, and maybe it's unfair to compare them to the other masterpieces on the album, and maybe I'm unfairly comparing the album to other chili records that are undoubtedly 5-star (Californication, by the way) but I'm rating it as great, not perfect.

I used to listen to their singles all the time in middle school and I was never able to label what their music exactly was until now. It is now what I consider one of the best blends of funk and rock out there, with songs like "If you have to ask" sounding like it came out a Sly album. This is RHCP at their freshest. They finally found their sound, and it only took 5 albums. Their later albums would build off this formula. But this isn't as poppy as their later albums. There is so much youthfulness and energy in this album that would make funk proud to see where it went in the 90s. When listening to this album, there are two sides at conflict. There's the punkish energetic songs, and there are the softer relaxing songs that come to define their more popular songs. Then there are the songs that combine both. My favorite songs on the album are pretty much the singles I grew up with, especially "Breaking the Girl". Everything was the instrumentals to the lyrics to the back vocals to the solo are perfect.

Probably one of/my fav RHCP album. Groovy :D I think I pretty much like every track owo

Still a classic

What a treat. 4.5.

Starts funky/ska style. Hits it stride in the middle. “I could have lied” helps the album progress through to their hits. Enjoyable. Longer album that covers several sub genres throughout. EDIT: After completing this list. RHCP was my fist album so I expected this list to be filled with way more albums that I’d like more than this one. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. This was one of the better alt rock albums on the list in general and deserves an update. 8.3/10

Yep. This is the stuff.

Top! Voll funky. Unerwartet

Nunca lo había escuchado, me encantó

Some people shit on the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's not really my thing, but I think it's really good pop music.

So cool and sounds amazing. Great tracks!

Pretty good probably won't listen again

This album is a little too long in my opinion. But otherwise very good. I'm glad I'm revisiting it after all these years.

Tons of HS nostalgia in this album. Will always remember the time I met Anthony Kiedes at a campground in West Michigan while he was visiting his grandpa.

I am not a huge fan of theirs, but this holds up. There is some idiocy on the album, like Suck My Kiss, and the big thumbsucker that is Under the Bridge, but John Frusciante's sunshine bright tones cut through the funky sludge, creating a style that has earned its popularity.

This album is very nostalgic for me. So, I may have a bias here. I think this album is all over the place in a wonderful way. There isn't a cohesive story or even sound. It makes each new song refreshing compared to the previous. The messages and themes in the song are always worth looking at the lyrics for.

Takes me back.

Mood: Horny swag.

Not a huge fan of RHCP, but I've loved this album for about 20 years despite that. As close to a 5/5 as you can get with being 5/5

Highlights: Power of Equality, Breaking the Girl, Under The Bridge It's the breakout album that introduced the world to California punk-pop (for better or for worse). It's uniquely obnoxious and brightly endearing, and something that most other bands couldn't get away with, especially since the grunge sound had taken hold at the same time (BSSM was released on the same day as Nirvana's Nevermind). There's something for everyone here, not all tracks will hit equally, and certainly no one should feel bad if they don't enjoy them all.

"Give It Away" Released: September 4, 1991 "Under the Bridge" Released: March 10, 1992 "Suck My Kiss" Released: May 1, 1992 "Breaking the Girl" Released: July 30, 1992 "If You Have to Ask" Released: February 1993

It remembers my teenage years so I have some good memories of all RHCP's career. However, this album is not so great that I remember, even with the last songs being great examples of all the RHCP power and dominance of their style. I'll give it 4 stars for it because of all, the memories, the sentiment, and the good songs.

Love this album.

Been listening o it since the ninties, great album

Funky AF.

Fresher Bass zum Geburtsjahr - 4

Gooood.

Classic Album!

Just a classic record for me.

XD

Plutôt 3,5 que 4 mais bon

Classic. So good and I can’t help but smile and just listen over and over

I do love me some RHCP. Perhaps I'm a bit of a casual in regards to their music, as I enjoy their later stuff a bit more. Californication being the magnum opus for the band, however I do like the funk/punk mix of their earlier stuff as well. Nevertheless I can't help but groove along their music and for me that's a marker or something awesome.

Intro to The Power of Equality goes hard, nice bassline too. Love the album, Under the Bridge is one of my favorite songs. Give It Away is a classic. Album is solid and fucking filled with sexual innuendos. I love RHCP but as a whole, the album didn't impress me as much as I thought it would, still solid though, 6/8.

I like the old stuff

Iconic RHCP

I feel like I would have really liked this album if I was around at the time just out of it's punk, alt-rock nature. There's some hip hop influence in this record that I attribute to Rick Rubin's production. Good album, although it starts to drag on with 17 tracks. Standout Tracks: Suck My Kiss, I Could Have Lied, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Sir Psycho Sexy

best rhcp

Heard this a kazillion times, some of it is classic. Drags on a tiny bit towards the end though. 4/5.

I've tried a few times now to get into the RHCP and I just can't do it. The drums are fantastic, the bass is one of the best, the guitar is serviceable, the songs are for the most part catchy, so I think it's just his voice and singing style. It doesn't work for me. Lots of talent, but I just can't get into it. Give It Away is a top 50 all time favorite song for me though.

Not as heavy as I would have guessed. I would give a 2.5 but am rounding up since it is better than the other stuff I give 2s

a bit long for my taste. chad smith is incredible in this.

The bad songs on here are deeply embarrassing. They almost read as self-parody (Apache Rose Peacock is particularly egregious). It is also far too long. But I can’t deny that some songs work. Under the Bridge rocks, Give zit Away is a great time. 2.5 but I’ll round up on the strength of the hits.

Was never a big fan of the peppers, I find the singer's voice pretty grating and the lyrics nonsensical garbage. I didn't realize how funky they sound though, I love all of the bass guitar through this very long album, but man this album feels so long to get through. Not sure if it's just an issue with doing this 1001 challenge, but it felt hard to get through the whole thing. I think overall I enjoyed the bassline and funky grooves to the songs more than I hated them so I'll go with a 3/5 on this one.

give it away now was cool and the drums are decent, not my thing otherwise

Under the bridge, erarbeiten wohl ihren so bekannten Sound hier

2,7 Highlights: Breaking the Girl, Under the Bridge

A heavy funk sound with sprinkles of ballads and between. If there was ever a term called “frat-funk” this album might be it. It comes off as juvenile rather than sensual to me. I can get behind the sound but it’s tiring like 30/40 minutes after that. I think the past few albums so far in this challenge have me stretching my attention span or seeing where it lies.

very strong start but for 95% of rock music u can't make a 1:15 album and see that the quality will be there for the whole run. enjoyed most of it tho.

I will never knock the talent of some of the musicians in this band. Chad Smith and Flea's groove is other worldly on every track on this album. I will also not deny that there are some classic tracks on here and the run of "Give it Away," the title track, and "Under the Bridge" is unmatched on a lot of albums. However, 73 minutes of music from a band who I've steadily lost interest in since middle school is too much for me. 3/5

RHCP hasn't aged super well for me. The funky bass lines are enjoyable but the lyricism and song structures are a miss for me now. 3/5

It's admittedly nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. It's music to idly bump your head to in the car because they're the only tolerable band you can find on the radio. I can say I learned that three or four songs I like are apparently RHCP songs, I guess. Despite how much music is on this damn thing, I don't really have a lot to say about it. It's surprisingly decent but nothing I'd really go out of my way to listen to.

It's fine ig

écouté jusqu'à i could have lied, très sympa Pas fini

I've always kind of liked Red Hot Chili Peppers. When Under the Bridge came out, I was 2 or 3 and I loved that song and especially the music video. I watched a lot of MTV as a little kid. This was a long album though. I liked parts of it and didn't like other parts. Some of the songs sounded similar. I, of course, know Under the Bridge and Give It Away. I also recognized Breaking the Girl, which I liked, and Suck My Kiss.

Good stuff here, not a RHCP fan and the album started sounding like one long runon song after a while. 3/5

I don't know what this sound is called. White boy funk rock?? It hasn't aged particularly well.

Baustelle, Gerstetten, Deutschland. Ganz okay.

If RHCP put out a career greatest hits it would be three LPs. One would just be One Hot Minute, and any fans who disagree can get bent. One side each would represent the best stuff from Mother's Milk and earlier and Californication and after. And the third LP would be mostly BSSM and also Soul to Squeeze. Even this would be more RHCP than anyone NEEDS, it wouldn't be ALL good, but no one would ever need MORE than that. You could easily do that without losing a single essential track. While I will absolutely die on the hill that Dave Navarro is the only person who managed to harness Anthony Kiedis's weird dubbed-kung-fu style rapping and flapjawed singing into a consistent product, one cannot deny that BSSM has the hits. Even as tiring as those hits are. Even as bloated as the album is. It has a pretty distinct aura to it… from the jump you have the same sonic palette as Give It Away and Suck My Kiss. You also have probably the least cool song to ever say “death to the ku klux klan”. That should be a slam dunk on making your song cool. You can't actually follow along lyrically with an RHCP song. It's a terrible idea if you're trying to approach them as unbiased as possible, because there are few worse lyricists in the entire world than Kiedis. It makes a song like Breaking the Girl all the more astonishing, not that it is exactly poetry, but it's a coherent, actually kinda lovely song couched between two unselfconsciously silly songs. “There are no monks in my band”. OK, Shakespeare. And there really is the feeling that this could have been at least a solid album if anyone else was fronting these songs except for Sir Psycho Sexy over here (sincerely one of the least sexy songs exclusively about fucking, but I guess that's not surprising from a dude who called sex “done did do” earlier in the album). It could have even been equally relentlessly horny if the vocalist or at least lyricist wasn't the sort of guy to pursue barely legal women while in his 60s. Hell, even lots of other old predator types would do better. The best of those tracks is Suck My Kiss, but that's in spite of itself. This album is an excellent reminder of how bad heroin can mess you up, but Under the Bridge is definitely not the best evidence of that. So yeah, there's the four hits. That's one half of that full platter. Let's say we put that as Suck My Kiss, then slip in Naked in the Rain, and continue with Breaking the Girl, Give it Away, and Under the Bridge. Side B? Soul to Squeeze (where it belongs, what band doesn't include this song if they wrote it for this album?) Righteous and the Wicked. I Could Have Lied. My Lovely Man. Let's toss “they're red hot” at the end as a coda. Maybe I'd throw Mellowship Slinky on the bonus deluxe platter as an instrumental demo. That single LP is a good 4*. The album as it stands? I can't really give it a 2… it's weirdly more than the sum of its parts… but I can barely go much higher than a light 3*. And again, this is basically the second best album these cats put out

Pretty solid

feels very so cal so i didn't hate actually

Quite like the RHCP but this is undoubtedly too long. Cut a couple of tracks and it's a much better album.

ta bien

wahoooooo (although not near my favourite chili peppers album)

its just so generic, commercial music slop. also can't forget about the 14 year old

Some classic songs, arguably a classic record, hut a bit too long. Frusciante gets a lot of praise, but I never understood the hype. He does lay down some good tracks here though

The instrumentation is great, stuffed to the brim with groove and funk. There is so much talent on display. But jfc do Kiedis' lyrics and vocal stylings get on my nerves. Unfortunately Flea, Frusciante, and Smith's mastery can't quite save this one from 74 minutes of Kiedis rapping about all the sex he has. At least this one doesn't feature a song about a 14 year old girl. 2.5/5. Favorite tracks: The Power of Equality, If You Have to Ask, Sir Psycho Sexy (for going full sludge mode)

There’s some stuff here that’s your standard scatty batty bing a ding dong dong Chili Peppers but then there’s Breaking the Girl and Under the Bridge and a couple of other pretty good ones.

I enjoyed this more than I thought. I was going to give it a 4. Then, I was thinking. Flea and Chad Smith seem like OK guys. What about the rest of the band? -1

I'm not a fan of RTHP, so I might be biased. Kiedis's voice is so grating that having to hear him for 70 minutes makes listening to "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" worse. Also, there are many better alt-rock bands out there. However, "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" isn't a total disaster. It's actually a tolerable album. 3 stars for "Blood Sugar Sex Magik".

Frekar bla

Yeah, idk. It was pretty fun to listen to while playing some racing games, but it's just soo background music. It's too long, and the best part of it is probably Rick Rubin. Or flea.

Under the Bridge and 110 minutes of cringe.

Play that funky music whiteboyyyy

Man, I loved RHCP in the 90's, and this album in particular. I follwed them up to Californication (I hope it's not on this list) and then dropped them like it's hot.....red hot. There are some killer tracks on this album (Breaking the Girl, Under the Bridge, I Could Have Lied, etc), but so much filler. There is no version of reality where this album needed to be an hour and fifteen minutes. Also, Anthony Kiedis drives me fucking crazy. Wham bam, funky frying pan, get with me girl, I are your man. Shamala pooey, get on my big kablooey, make my baloney ooey gooey (so many dick references). Dude just needs to stop. RHCP are also singlehandedly responsible for spawning a million douchey funk bands full of bro dudes pumping out endless mediocrity, and this I can not abide. Thankfully the 90's thrived and grew in spite of this. This album did not age well but it get's three stars for a tight rhythm section, nostalgia, and the last solid Frusciante effort (with RHCP). I am glad I moved on and will probably never spin this alum in it's entirety again.

trhcp is okie. very servicable but not remarkable

As much as I have ended up not liking this band, there are aspects of this album which are worthy. A handful of excellent catchy songs and very strong musicianship by the musicians in the band. Anthony Keidis spouts lyrical shite as usual though. Trying to enjoy this album is a bit like eating a bag of revels where some are caramel, some are raisins but you also frequently come across ones contaminated with sand.

2.6/5 A few good songs but nothing I'm eager to get back too other than Under the Bridge.

Not the biggest RHCP fan, judging by their singles, but this was better than expected. Shame Kiedis is such a bad singer. I am struggling between 3 and 4 stars, but his voice unfortunatly for them makes me go to the lower score.

Highly bad. 2-3 great songs Drug abuse is not a W

very nice shiza chan

I looked at this score before listening, and I had a thought - I remember this album as a child when growing up and I loved Sir Psycho Sexy, Give It Away and Suck My Kiss among others, so I was surprised, how dare they give it such a low score. Listened again and you're all right, sorry. This album has certified great tracks on here, they're all on top of their game, but this album dragssssssss, they really could've done with an editor, or someone to tell them that they can easily reduce this by half an hour.

The album is too long but it won me over as it progressed--the downtempo and more acoustic songs like Breaking the Girl and I Could Have Lied are easy winners, and Under the Bridge is a great song by any metric. The faster and heavier stuff skewed a little too closely to rap metal at times for my tastes but there is something very infectious about the way these guys come at these songs. Came in expecting a 2 after the first couple songs and it rose to a 3/3.5.

This is probably the best and most consistent funk, hard rock, rap (sigh) mashup by RHCP. The instrumentals are on point, but it too often is less than the sum of its parts. And it's definitely too long. (3.5)

I thought this was a pretty groovey album but it did take me a few attempts to get through it all. I think the more I listened to it the more I could put up with it. I hate to give this a 3 because fuck the singer. But as an album it’s decent.

I hate that I like the Chilli Peppers, and this album vindicated that hate. My standard defense is as follows: "Flea is as good here as he ever is, and he's the highlight of the album" and "the other instruments are also excellent" My bugbear with the Chilli Peppers is here, as it always is, that their vocalist needs put down (and not just because he's a pedophile). Tracks like "Breaking the Girl" are so crooning, and it's so aggravating. Their best stuff all suffers from it, and that leaves weaker tracks feeling so drowned in it "Under the Bridge" is a standout here, but I'm not winning any awards for that observation It really doesn't help that this album is such a slog, you could easily have cut the last third of the album and this would've lost nothing and been nearly a half hour punchier Putting a score on this is harder than basically anything so far. I'm left asking myself why I like something that I hate so much of, and I guess I just have to gesture at the good bits and say the same tired thing I always do It's probably a 2, I'm going to give it a 3, and with some serious adjustments it might even be a 4

Its a fine album not the best from the peppers. Its just a lot of the same and it gets boring fats except for under the bridge of course that song carries the whole album.

If you have to aaaaaask

This was to samey sounding for my tastes. But that's really just RHCP.

This was a huge album in the 90s and the breakout hit of the RHCP. But, it really didn't do much for me. I like about 1-2 songs per album with the RHCP. But I'm glad we had them all the same.

When to listen: Hardcore studying in Burling Library... at least that's what this reminds me of. Obviously talented musicians but the sound wore on me after the first few songs.

throwback!

John Frusciante coming into his own is really what elevates this material, and both Flea and Chad Smith are incredible musicians. But I don't connect with the the Kiedis scat-rap antics, songwriting and early funk dna like I did growing up. That made the majority of this album more grating and skippable than I was expecting upon revisit, so can't give this a great score. But it's not a 3 of mediocrity, it's a 3 of high highs and low lows.

I went into this thinking I’d prefer it to their overplayed later stuff but, although I still enjoyed it, I found a lot of it irritating. Especially the vocals. They did have an original sound at the time though.

It’s good but it feels like the same song over and over

This album did not make it into my huge collection of cds and cassettes back in 91 because I thought it was annoying as fuck. Flash forward to 2026 and I start listening to this album for this project, and I already know every single song on it. Somewhere in 91, I must have heard this in its entirety. Maybe a party. Maybe a bar. Whatever, I knew every single song and I realize this album must have been EVERYWHERE at the time. This skewed my rating up to a 3 because I know it was really popular, so there must be some good in it that I'm missing, right? So I continued my listen and it's kinda fun. In my opinion, I've heard enough about Anthony Keidis' hard weiner to last a lifetime, but musically, it is kinda funky and I like that part of it. So, I guess what I'm saying is, Kiedis is annoying with his wang talk and chicka chicka dee bow wow wow, but I like the funky fun part of it.

Fav song: Under the Bridge

1 hour 15! Why! If I was going to pick one Red Hot chili peppers album to try to listen to it would have been this one. But given how much I hated californication when that came up a couple of months ago I didn’t have high hopes. I was pleased surprised though. Chad, flea and John get to shine on this one and even Anthony is at his least unbearable (still unbearable though). I think there’s probably a 40 minute album in here that would get 4 stars from me. But as it is it’s a generous 3 stars.

Loads of energy and some great tracks, but not really for me

Solid effort from the Chilis

Not a fan.

Magik in parts

Dumb but fun

A lot of this isn't every good, a couple of classics salvage a low 3

I love Under the Bridge. It alone almost made this a 4 star album, but it was just too long. With too much that was just alright.

I go back and forth on Anthony Kiedis but I've always liked the RHCP's sound. This is a solid album with a few radio hits sprinkled in.

This should absolutely be replaced with stadium arcadium

Definitely overhated, but I can kinda see why A lot of good songs on here that got my head bopping straight away, but this album is a bit of a slog. I probably could’ve been temped to give this a 4 if it ended after Under the Bridge 3.5

Pas mon préféré

Holy shit that bass is so plucky and fat and sexy I’m in love I can tell that this is gonna be a controversial album amongst this group but I’m having a great time with it (my brother loves this band) This album definitely reeks of that 90's angst and unredeemable parts of that era: the raunchy lyrics, abrasive vocals, bloated tracklist, etc. But it's all pretty good actually, I had a great time listening to it. Maybe I deserve to be back in 1992 with bleached tips and baggy jeans and an affinity for saying slurs that we can't quite say anymore in this day and age. The instrumentation was all very good, Chad Smith is a demon on those drums and adds a lot of character to the rhythm, and goddamn that bass just stuck its fingers up my ass and dug around until it hit that golden button. I've never been one to focus on bass in songs, but this album changed that for me. It was a highlight throughout the entire album. Fav Tracks: Under the Bridge I Could Have Lied

Phenomenal sound, sophomoric lyrics (mostly).

I guess I didn’t know what Red Hot Chili Peppers really sounded like? I’m not quite sure how that happened.

Some good songs on here but a lot of weird choices and terrible songs

Some excellent tracks, alot of filler

I want to like this album a lot more than I do. The musicianship on the instruments is great, and truly amazing at times. But the vocals are a mixture of half rap and half singing, with neither one being good at all. And the lyrics are truly insipid. Would probably do 3.5, but rounding down in this case.

Far too long and felt pretty samey. A generous 3

Much like Californication, this album has some absolute classics but also some filler. As before, I can see why The Greatest Hits has done so well.

The funk is strong. Still annoying. I blame Anthony Kiedis.

i'm not a huge RHCP fan, but wasn't upset to see this record today. I share a lot of other reviewer's sentiments, that the lyrics are the low point of the record. I want to give it a 2, but it feels wrong.

74 mins long. An entire CD worth of music... some of it is great (the singles) and the rest is fairly mediocre.

it feels appropriate to get this album on 4/20 cos this feels like music to get fuckin zooted to. its a shame i couldnt smoke up for this one due to like, having a job, i'd consider myself a "rhcp centrist" but 75 minutes is a big ask.... its honestly my biggest gripe with the album. i enjoyed a lot of it, obviously there's a bunch of tracks here that popped off on their own and those are great but there's a bunch of stuff i'd never heard before that i got into as well, like "if you have to ask", "naked in the rain" and "the greeting song". i really don't think it needed to be a double album though. im hesitant to accuse it of being samey cos imo one of rhcp's strengths is "the rhcp sound" but, i feel that theres a lot of stuff especially in the first half that doesn't really add much that isn't already covered by other, stronger tracks. they really could've cut this thing in half without losing much. gratuitous length aside, i had fun with this one. the lyrics are pretty stupid but mostly in an enjoyably goofy way, although sometimes anthony kiedis will say some shit that makes me pause the track to check what the fuck i just heard (the bit on "apache rose peacock" just after he namedrops louis armstrong springs to mind). i think consistently the thing i like most on every track is the bass. i'm suddenly understanding why everyone likes flea so much, he's knocking it outta the park on every track. tbh all the instrumentals are great and even the quality of the vocals is good other than like, the actual lyrics often sounding like he's just saying whatever the fuck. i think i might rate this album higher if i didn't speak english. do you understand? i really wanna give this a 4 but i just can't do it. it simply is too long for its own good. maybe i'll change my mind later but for now this is stuck with my strongest 3 possible. sorry lads.....

why is everyone mad

Rock divertido ameno red hot como red hot

RHCP are to 90's music, like Kat Hernadez is to Euphoria. She's got her place, no one can say now, some very high highs. but not a 5 stars over all. I added an extra star because they do sound some shore of especific way.

needed

Classic album. I just don't really like the RHCP. Don't enjoy the rap attempt.

RHCP was a pretty solid funk-rock band weighed down by a talentless pedophile on vocals.

Would give it a 3.5 if I could. Really great album, just not 100% my music

Really just Under the Bridge...

mid, okay ish, not really my type of music

Funk rock is such a fun genre to listen to and most albums from this genre that I’ve listened to always get a good rating. For this one I’m in between a 7 or 8/10

Probably RHCP at their best. The album itself is kinda a mess. I don't remember Under the Bridge and Give It Away being on the same album. I really like Breaking the Girl, Give it Away, and The Power of Equality. The bass is pretty sick throughout. In half the songs I can't understand the lyrics, and in some others I wish I couldn't.

It's okay but it wears out it's welcome

Under the Bridge is wonderful and a couple of other classics but never have gotten into the sound of the Chilie Peppers. Not sure why

I forget that for every hit the Red Hot Chili Peppers had there are 10 really weird songs that no one listens to

the worst popular rhcp album by far imo but still a fun one

Pensavo fosse meglio. È un po' noioso.

I hear a lot of Funk & Rap influences across the album, esp in The Equality of Power & If You Have To Ask, Sir Psycho Sexy, which picked my interest. The Basslines and guitar are super funky so it creates a brash pairing with the way the drums swing (in a good way). The funk element is so strong I had to look up the bands affiliation with the genre and I found that the were deeply influenced by parliament, James Brown etc. very cool. I have massive respect for artists that play like their music palette is broad and well research. I think it’s an interesting album to listen to and i can appreciate the musicality but I don’t think it suits my personal taste. The lyrics don’t really speak to me (I dont think it’s meant to tbh but I can see how it may speak to those who loved this album) I don’t listen to much rock music so my knowledge on the evolution of the genre is limited to understand the impact of this album/band.

Wow four of my favourite things. Pretty hype. Big fan of this tbh. Fuck yeah equality baby. Reminds me kindve of life is a highway. Funky ahh guitar. I like it. It’s very divorced dad core. I don’t think it’s really my niche but I can definitely appreciate it. Solid rock. Very 90s. The worst person you know would listen to this. Funky monks baby. I like music with a little bit of swagger to it. If I was a guy in the 90s I’d skateboard down the street to this while disappointing my parent for sure. Why is it so long though. I don’t think they should have that much to say tbh. Most motherfuckers dont give a damn. So true. My face will never show what isn’t real. The lyrics are actually quite deep when you listen to them. This is slinky. Give it away bro. How long is this fucking album holy shit. They for sure are red hot. It’s getting to a point where this is just noise. If the album was shorter it would’ve honestly been miles better. It just blends together after too long. Fuck man shut upppp. No one gaf about your sandcastles. Favourite: Funky Monks Least favourite: Apache Rose Peacock

Sounds like they had a lot of fun making this music. However, it doesn’t sound too good, and Anthony Kiedes’ vocals are pretty bad. “Under the Bridge” is probably the best song in the album, but I don’t like it all that much. I often comes on the radio station I’ve automatically set my car to (when I’m not listening to new albums), and every time it comes on, I think, “Oh, not this song again.” If “Under the Bridge” is bad enough that I prefer literally all other pop music to it, you should be able to deduce how I feel about the rest of the album.

Not a chili peppers fan. I do like breaking the girl though. It's one of the rare 3/4 rock songs and that was cool.

Standard Chilis.

I prefer Californication, but this was about what I expected

Music: Funky. Creative. Good Vocals & lyrics: "K-i-s-s-i-n-g / Chicka chicka dee do me like a banshee / Low brow is how / / Swimming in the sound of bow wow wow / Oh baby do me now / Do me here I do allow".

45 minutes too long. I don’t mind the Chili Peppers but this is way too much material for an album of theirs Top Song: Under the Bridge (of course)

Exceptional musicians. But for some reason this just didn’t capture my attention like it may have once.

Remember when these guys were good? Heavy grooves and funk energy from their early years meet the stadium-sized sensibilities which would make them one of the biggest bands ever. Lots of "band in a room just having a jam" energy here, it's a very exuberant record. Powerful production, but why is the snare so loud, Rick?? Many tracks are quite samey but the classics are stone cold! Favourite tracks: Breaking The Girl, Suck My Kiss, Give It Away, I Could Have Lied, Fellowship Slinky

Not that magik.

This is a pretty fun album and I have some nostalgia for RDCP music. Although some of these songs are really obnoxious (Apache Rose Peacock, Sir Psycho Sexy), overall it was pretty good.

Escuchable. Todo suena igual a lo anterior.

This is an album I used to listen to quite a bit. I include it amongst Rick Rubin's good works. It contains some songs I used to be really keen on (Power of Equality, Under the Bridge, My Lovely Man), one I always skipped over (Sir Psycho-sexy), and some I thought were energetic, iffy but maybe okay (eg Suck My Kiss). Recently I have learned that Kiedis has (by his own admission, in his book) done sexual exploitation that was not only illegal but (in my opinion, not his) very seriously wrong, and he has recounted such conduct without repentance. So, I do not want any actions of mine to enrich him, and I can't “simply enjoy” any part of his work in the way that I used to. There are versions of this album on YouTube that omit Kiedis' vocals – one even uses the cover graphic and whites out Kiedis' face. That is somewhat attractive to me. I wouldn't miss Kiedis' vocals, the bass/guitar/drums interplay was always the good stuff. (I could ask, "what if there is bad conduct by any/all of Flea, Frusciante, Smith" - I guess one distinctly bad thing about each of them, that I have to confront, is the extent to which they have kept playing with Kiedis, even after they knew or should know what he has done and how he writes about it...) This album was always at best A Mix of Good and Bad. I now find it difficult to unlistenable as a whole. But some of the songs still have significant appeal (from guitar/bass/drums aspect). So, while I was tempted to rate it extremely low, I am on reflection calling it Mix of Good and Bad (5/10).

This is so much better produced than Californication, it’s hilarious. But it’s even LONGER. Who can stand that much RHCP straight?

I know and generally like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I have 29 songs liked on Spotify by them in total and I have 7 songs liked on this album. If you listened to alternative rock radio in the 90s and 2000s, you would hear these guys all the time. The 7 I already liked are "Breaking the Girl", "Suck My Kiss", "I Could Have Lied", "Give It Away", "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", "Under the Bridge", "Sir Psycho Sexy". Haven't sat and listened to this one all the way through for a really long time. Thoughts as listening to this 3 times through... First thought, oh yeah this is basically a double album with 17 songs and run time of an hour and 13 minutes. Uh oh, I generally think most double albums should NOT have been so long and would be much better if they edited it down. This album is such a contrast - it has absolute classics like "Give It Away" and "Under the Bridge" - alongside too many forgettable, filler songs. I like the longer instrumental part of "Sir Psycho Sexy". I did end up "liking" 2 new songs beyond the 7 I already liked - "If You Have to Ask" (this has a funky slightly reggae groove) and "Mellowship Slinky in B Minor". So that's 9 songs that are good. This would be a perfect album if they didn't make it a double album - which seems to be the typical curse of most double albums. Liked songs on Spotify: 9/17 Rating: 3/5

I enjoyed this album listen from the Red Hot Chili Peppers! I don’t feel like this album was anything groundbreaking but it was fun to listen to and the peppers have a very distinct sound and vibe that makes them very recognizable. Overall, I liked this album and I would listen to it again in the future.

Flea and Frusciante make this album. I think without that duo, we would be left with Kiedis' silly noises and occasional serious lyrics. It's good music and very well mixed/produced (all the seamless transitions.....chef's kiss), however as I've noted before about RCHP, it's just too long. The sound gets old after about 40 minutes. Could've ended at "Under The Bridge" 3.5

3 or 4.

interesting ups and downs, soft yet jagged

Rude and crass, but clearly having a good time while doin it, and some funky jams.

A bit of this and that, some good, some not so good, but overall it’s enjoyable.

Make the most annoying band you can think of using only four musicians. I'll start: Anthony Kiedis Flea John Frusciante Chad Smith (courtesy of the internet)

More like the lukewarm bell peppers.

More like mildly hot chili peppers. Pretty long album and I only enjoyed maybe 3 of the songs. Not a bad band but not a great album.

I've known most of this music for a long time, and I've lost my enjoyment of RHCP over the years. This album is fine, but its sexual theming is weird and most songs aren't really winners. There's some good songs in there for sure, but it's something about the singers voice that doesn't stick any more.

Truly enjoyed most of this album whenever Kiedis wasn't vocalizing. The tight guitar, funky bass, and varied rhythm showcase the talent and skill of these musicians, and it's a shame that Kiedis detracts so much from this otherwise enjoyable music. Breaking the Girl remains an underrated song and the only RHCP track I enjoy.

RHCP have elements of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 stars throughout their work. This album is great. This album also sucks. I don't know what to do with that information.

While quintessential, it’s not my fave RHCP album, but I do have to say that “Under the Bridge” still goes OFF.

Rockig, funky und fotzig. Ikkimel premium sozusagen in Sachen Provokation.

Südfrankreich 2006 Vorher schon gekannt: suck my kiss, give it away, under the Bridge Fav: sir Psycho sexy Red hot Chili peppers haben viele in meiner Klasse gehört früher Nicht unbedingt mein genre aber gut gemachte Musik, kann man ez durchhören

Some classics here but prefer their newer albums. 3/5

It’s good but way too long. There’s some really good songs on here: Under the bridge And some not so good: Apache rose peacock I love the Chili peppers in small doses, like the real things I guess. I find his voice a bit grating after a while and some of the lyrics make me cringe.

Definitely too long, not sure if it can be called very good. It for sure showed off the unique Chili Peppers sound, but lots of filler songs that nobody really needs to hear... Highlight is obviously Under the Bridge.

few good songs save this album from being mediocre

I like them. Album was just okay.

I wore this one out in 8th grade but it probably needs to stay in 8th grade.

“Suck My Kiss” is my favorite RHCP’s song. One of my younger brothers was 1-2 years old when this came out, on the radio, & MTV. It will always be “Give Way Give Way Give Way Now” in his baby talk🥲

I don't like funk and i don't like the funky ones on here. The more mellow ones are fine.

I really don't know what to say about this one. It's one of those albums that would be far better if it was purely instrumental, because I love the drums and bassline in this but holy god I do not enjoy hearing Kiedes' corny white-boy rapping. I remember seeing a review of Fetch the Bolt Cutters that complained about the singer dropping F bombs every other line and I have to wonder if they accidentally listened to this album. I don't want to sound like an uptight prude but man some of these lyrics are very 'I HAVE SEX!!!!' and most of the time I don't feel like they add anything to this album. Oh well, maybe this is something I'll enjoy more with a relisten.

This album is an hour and fifteen minutes. Idk man the chili peppers are kind of annoying. I will always sing Under the Bridge though. Maybe even my karaoke song. 3/5

Bangers and some duds

Decent you know

At their funkiest

Very cool album. A ton of hits off of it. It has good flow, but a little long for me. Some really amazing music to be heard. Fantastic bass and experimental guitar. Mixes funk, rock, metal, and hiphop. "Power of Equality" was the favorite track.

It's interesting how RHCP were legitimately the biggest band on the planet for a few years at the turn of the century, but now they seem to be suffering a retcon I to being one of the most hated bands ever. Is it because their perennially bare-chested singer admitted to having a thing with a youngster? Sadly, we must all learn to separate the product from the producer even if many producers of products have turned out to be terrible people. Having grown up through multiple eras of RHCP and enjoying many of their singles, culminating in (for me) their best work in Californication, I saw them at Slaine Castle. While the band continued to get bigger, I thought less and less of their post Californication work. Going back to my youth with this album, which I probably heard in its entirety at some point, shows just how much and how little the band has changed over the decades. If you don't like their sound, there's nothing here that will change your opinion. They have that slightly dissonant highly funky thing going on, and this album saw them push away from some of their heavier previous works. This album also has so e of their biggest bangers, but there's a lot of fluff too. Too many songs. The last two songs are terrible and could have been cut. The title track could have been cut. Get this down to 10-12 songs and it's a four.

under the bridge doesn't even sound like it belongs on this album. sex magik is sooooo annoying. Would I listen again: nope Deserves to be on this list: nope 2.7

Pretty uneven album that has some fun funky highs, but some notable lows that do detract from the whole record. Way too long to start - there's not a ton worth listening to beyond the more famous tracks. The lyrics also came across as out of place and took away from a lot of the stellar instrumental parts. On the positive side there were more than a few previously unheard songs by me that i feel outshine the more mainstream hits. Decent overall with several hidden gems, but a lot that's inconsequential. Top tracks: If You Have To Ask, Funky Monks, Blood Sugar Sex Magik

Did not enjoy as much as Californication, but the album grows as it goes on

Some of the best rock music there is but jesus this album is too long. Like many 90s albums, absolutely tuned for the radio but impulses went too far. But it's impossible to not hear this music and not feel like the car window is down on a sunny summer day.

Highlight: Under The Bridge 3.4

under the bridge is the song i know and love from this album. Blood sugar sex magix is really catchy

Slacked at the end. But overall good album, you could tell Flea had a blast with this album!

I am listening to this today and I did listen to the others - and I'm not sure how to connect with the group - but HELLO!
