I love Dolly, but this is just okay. Linda and Emmylou are icons, but it's a solid pretty good album.

I can appreciate that these are genuinely well-written and heartfelt songs, but I personally struggle with overtly country-sounding music - that’s just my own bias. The production and vocal performances are lovely, though it’s not something I’d typically choose to listen to. Favourite tracks: The Pain of Loving You, My Dear Companion, I've Had Enough.

Wildflowers Don't Care Where They Grow 1001 Albums Generator 145 (10/22/2025) My exposure to all three of these ladies is extremely limited. I am only aware of Linda Ronstadt from her contributions to Carly Bley's avant-garde jazz masterpiece, Escalator Over The Hill. I only know Dolly Parton from Jolene and Dollywood, and I don't know Emmylou Harris at all. What I do know is that their collaboration album, Trio, is unfortunately very boring. The genres on RateYourMusic make this out to be much more interesting than it actually is. To my untrained ear, Trio is run of the mill country, albeit with some very talented vocalists. These three ladies are all great singers and have voices that blend together pretty well. I don't have much to say, except that The Pain Of Loving You and Wildflowers are both alright, the guitar work in Those Memories Of You is good, and I will never return to this album. The soft, slow, orchestral songs like I've Had Enough overloaded my ears with cheese. I wish I was lactose intolerant. 1/5 feels so harsh for an album with some real talent behind it but I have to speak my truth okay. 1/5. I am going to refrain from mentioning how hot Emmylou Harris was in her prime, and how enormous Dolly Parton's rack is. Linda Ronstadt is also on this album. Incredible harmonisations, awesome instrumentals, brilliant songwriting, two beautiful ladies (and Linda Ronstadt) and some BIG KNOCKERS. Giants in their respective genres. A great album with some great tracks.

Three of the best country singers to ever do it with songs written by some of the best lyricists of the 20th century including Linda Thompson (who wrote the best song on this album) and ‘Pistol’ Phil Spector. An easy listen from start to finish, reminds me of something my dad would listen to. Highlights: To Know Him Is To Love Him

So great to hear these voices and after the album played on spotify I got some of Trio II and it also sounded great. I'd put it on again for sure.

Enjoyed a lot of this, and they are all fantastic singers. It's a bit too dreary and lacking energy in places for me though. Don't think I'd listen again but glad I did!

Country is not usually my vibe but pretty much any of the female country singers that have been on the list so far have been great. This is no exception. Although I was surprised it was released it 1987. It sounds older than that. Loved it way more than I thought I would.

I am shocked I like this. Melodic, beautifully constructed, exceptional singing, sensitive, sad. It is a bit dated in terms of lyrical content but hey this is country. It does not make me cringe as badly as I thought it would, but it does somewhat. It is a bit repetitive toward the middle third

Three immensely talented ladies arguably at the height of their powers, definitely Dolly. Emmylou Harris was so beautiful then and still hot now, even if she's pushing 80.

Good harmonization, but it doesn’t live up to the supposed mega-collab hype. Solid, not spectacular. For a country album, it’s got a more colorful vibe than most, but the genre’s still a snooze. (Not talking about you, Cash, Jennings & Nelson.) 7/10.

Didnt love it.

We had a Dolly Parton and an Emmylou Harris album earlier, and while they are both more than competent singers (Linda Ronstadt is too obviously), there isn't much here to make me return to it. This just isn't my style and it wasn't quite as unique as Dolly Parton's solo stuff I heard before so it's just kinda there for me. If you're in to classic country music this is great, but given it's all covers (I think) it's not really a standout.

I judged this album by its terrible cover but I must admit it has some lovely songs.

This took me back to watching the grand Ol Opry and Hee Haw when I was a kid. Or the first time I saw O Brother where Art thou. So much talent

It makes me laugh thinking how disgusted 1987 me would be at how much 2025 me enjoyed this album. Three legends. What an unfortunate cover photo for Emmylou.

I haven’t delved deep into any of these performers’ catalogs, but I was completely struck down by these performances. The production is sparse, allowing their voices to stand out, on tracks that sound so timeless that they could just as likely be heard on 78 shellac discs or a cut on Zeppelin IV

I will start by saying I own this album, listen to it on a semi-regular basis and have always thought of it as a gem. I will finish by saying I was surprised to see it on this list, and when listening to it with the same critical ear and mind I’ve used with all other albums I find it to be a “middle of the road” record. Wildflowers is a 10/10 track with all others being between a 7 and an 8. An easy 4 or 5 star country album, but 3 stars in this concept.

The album took 3 popular female country icons at the height of their career and harmonized them. It's a good album. It won a Grammy. It went platinum. I don't hate it. Still, country is rarely my thing. So I appreciate it's genius, but I'm not moving any songs to my playlist. I can't give it at a 3 though because I appreciate if I was a country fan, this would be amazing.

They obviously all have great voices and they combine them very well but it all falls a bit flat for me. Overall i was just a bit bored

This just wasn’t for me, sadly. As much as I can appreciate the talents of these women, especially Linda Ronstadt, whose vocals on “Telling Me Lies” are incredible, and Queen Dolly, it was just *too* twangly country for me to enjoy a full album of it.

I was starting to think Dolly would never arrive, but she's finally turned up and brought friends! They all have beautiful voices and they meld together really well, though I think I'd always plump for Dolly's voice as the lead if given the choice. Some of these songs have such a history (To Know Him Is To Love him, written by Phil Spector has been covered/interpolated by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Amy Winehouse and - urgh! - Gary Glitter, amongst others), and then there are the originals - Wildflowers has such lovely lyrics. I sometimes felt the 80s-ness of this (Telling Me Lies for example, feels very 'of it's time' due to the keyboards) which stands out a bit on the otherwise fairly timeless album. It's not much for rip-roaring, yee-haw country music though - more melancholy/bittersweet songs about death is the order of the day here. I think this might be a 3.5 if there were half stars, but in the absence of them, this will get: 3/5

This album sounds great! If it wasn't country, or if it was an attempt by these country greats to advance the genre, I would rate it higher. These artists should have worked their craft a little more, if they wanted it to be great!

This cover is crazy but the songs don't really match it. It's not really my style but there were some nice ones and the singers really sound good together.

I've got a lot of time for Dolly, but this is my 3rd country album in about a week, and I'm so over it.

This was generally all the same song, about relationships either going wrong or right. Perfectly nice for what it was but what it was was slow and not my kind of thing. All excellent vocalists, mind you. Father Along the best track.

I thought I'd hate this, but it's alright. There are some great harmonies. Some of it is a bit predictable in a country sort of way. I still hate that twangy vocal they love to use. But it was better than I thought. However I've had it on at least twice now and I keep just walking out of the room to do other things so it's not exactly captivated me.

Lovely album of gentle and lovelorn country songs. The harmonies are beautiful. I enjoyed spending time with this today.

Really solid album. The vocals are warm, inviting, endearing, the production is crisp and it still breathes, the compositions are lovely. "Wildflowers" is a standout. Super pretty harmonies. I never heard this album prior to today (yesterday), but I've certainly heard of the singers. I was wondering if this style of release was more popular back in the day and couldn't think of many modern versions of this sort. There's Boygenius, a trio of three modern female indie singer-songwriters, but that's essentially an entirely different band.

Sorry if I offended anyone! As much respect as I have for Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt, I can't listen to any more country music! I can understand why this album is on a list of albums to listen to before you die—it's definitely a killer! Seriously, it's one thing to listen to everything and keep an open mind and blah blah blah... but no one can be criticized for saying enough is enough, I can't listen to any more! Country music is definitely not my thing, I already feel depressed sometimes without needing this help. 1 because yes, it didn't make me feel good, unlike so many other albums :'-(

Three extremely talented musicians singing together in perfect harmony: what's not to love?

Three superstar voices joined in harmony. One of the most iconic country supergroups. However, it’s hard not to want them to pick up the pace a little bit, as the largely melancholic songs all kind of blend together by the end.

Dolly’s voice is everything, Linda got me right in the feels, and while I struggled a little with Emmylou’s tone on this record, she found me in those lower registers. I’ve Had Enough destroyed me in the best way, and Wildflowers is a new favourite. Just loved the warm, golden harmony between three amazing women.

Pleasant. But I expected more from the 3 of them. Emmylou is one of my favorite vocalists, but this album seemed too safe and too old-fashioned, even in its time. Right down the middle, it's a 3.

I don't know if I'm technically allowed to rate this album considering one of the artists gives my daughter free books. Could be seen as a conflict of interest.

An absolute pleasure to listen to holy cow. For people who say they do not like country, they need to give this album a listen. It is incredible that this album keeps more traditional country alive and thrumming only 2 years before Garth Brooks would hit the scene and set the pace for the big stadium country of the 90s that now dominates popular country's landscape.

Dolly is an all-timer for a reason!

Really good country/bluegrass. Vocally, of course, it's fantastic. The musical support is light to focus on the singers, which is a shame, I think. Still, it's worth hearing. 4/5

This is pretty music. Somewhere between traditional country and new country (as new as it got in 1986 when this album was recorded) with gorgeous harmonies and all three ladies in top form TRIO is an absolute delight if you like any kind of country, you will love this album. The remake of Phil Spector's 1958 hit by the Teddy Bears, "To Know Him Is to Love Him" is almost as good as the original and that blows my mind as "To Know Him Is To Love Him" is my absolute favorite single of all time and again this cover is very close to being as great. Nothing remotely negative to say about this one it's absolutely perfect as is. 95% (maybe higher) of the garbage you hear on country radio these days is not even country THIS is real country and more than that it's real good country music and when country music is this good it's among the best music in the world. Oh, Lord, I need a cowboy in a bad way this morning to lasso me up out of my white country girl boots!

This album title was deceptive to me, as I envisioned all three singers to have equal contributions. But it really is a Dolly Parton album, with the others doing backing vocals and occasionally lead vocals. This is a mainstream country record, with nice songs and tight harmonies. A good collaboration but nothing spectacular.

This must have been the inspiration for the Powerpuff girls. Of course, Dolly-Bubbles is the fan favorite, but Emmylou-Blossom is the actual core of the team. It's cool that this exists since I had no idea they ever teamed up. Unfortunately, this album is country (boo), but I do like female country artists more than male ones (probably the only genre where I have that preference actually). The songs are slow, which isn't my vibe, but as these things go I thought it was good. The line "what will become of the hobo whenever his time comes to die?" made me say (a) yeesh but also (b) omg it's the quintessential Southern punctual "whenever"!! That's the very first dialectal variation I noticed all on my own as a wee one. And! Rufus's maman wrote 'I've Had Enough'! :') Highlights: the line "I'm making plans to be lonesome" (so true besties), 'Wildflowers'

Wow, what a trio. They all sound fantastic and this is a lovely, chill (if somewhat depressing) country album. I think this is country music at its best and I could listen to them sing with a steel guitar backing all day!

The material leans traditional — gospel, bluegrass, and rootsy ballads — but in their hands, even the oldest standards feel timeless. To Know Him Is To Love Him shimmers, Those Memories of You aches, Wildflowers beams pure meadow joy. It’s not just a “supergroup” — it’s three giants having fun, and somehow making it sound effortless. Passing this one onto Mum! Really cool old country album, did not know it existed!

Something purely joyous about women harmonizing and supporting in a generous way. Everyone gets their part, weaving in and out, peacefully. I don’t like country’s past tendency to mourn for men, but really it’s about the women and the sound isn’t it? Let’s not be fooled.

I don't think this will change your mind if you don't already like country, which sucks for me. There's no further depth in the lyrical process, the instrumental work isn't bad, but doesn't feel to me like it stands out with much frequency. It does feel like a classic piece of work, the vocals mesh very well and I can totally understand this being popular among a demographic other than mine. It's the sound you would associate with the southern USA. 1.2/5

My Mom loved this album but it still doesn’t do it for me despite loving early Dolly Parton. 80s era country is not my favorite.

Why is this just listed as a Dolly album? It's right there in the title. Anyway, these are three amazing voices. Quite a gift that they worked together on this.

Dolly! A woman so unashamedly herself and happy in herself that you can't help but admire it. Nothing bad to say about this, it's wholesome, catchy and well produced and all 3 ladies can bloody sing. Just not my genre of music.

Never knew this album existed. But I never liked country music. Listening to this opening track now, I’m really enjoying it. It’s 50s and 60s sound wise rather than the 80s. I realized I hated the sounds 80s country used. I find it jarring. The fiddles on making plans. That’s the sound I don’t like. These women are all amazing, but the songs are not resonating with me yet. Ok “Hobo’s meditation” is a really good song. I like this a lot. And now I’m on “Wildflowers” this is the good stuff.

A collaboration of three brilliant female vocalists. The harmonies and vocal arrangements are stellar with each putting their own unique style in. Plus Dolly is here and she’s a saint. All that being said it is a very classic country album that reminds me of my dad. A major part of my criteria to rating is my likelihood to return to the album and despite the talent here, I can’t see myself picking this over another album.

Stone cold classic!

I feel like I should have known that this existed. Maybe it was a blind spot, maybe this fell through the cultural cracks, but it certainly *feels* important, and I don't think I've really heard anyone talk about it. For anyone out there unfamiliar with these three women: Linda Ronstadt is Country-Rock royalty, Emmylou Harris is a Country/Americana/Folk Singer-Songwriter, and Dolly Parton is popular enough that she is basically symbolic of women in country music, even today. These women had all been separately active for decades by the time this came out: with Ronstadt and Harris both getting started in the 60's, and with Dolly Parton having songwritten since 1956(!!!) when she was like 10 years old. Part of me is honestly confused that they went through with this when they did, in the late '80s, which wasn't exactly a hayday for traditional country. Maybe they wanted to prove they still had it, or prove that country itself still had it, or maybe they just enjoyed playing together, but regardless of the reason, it came out, and it is a pretty good album. These are basically well written, arranged and performed Country songs. Everyone brings their own distinct vocals and performance styles, and personalities but I will say the result here is an album that does feel like it kind of plays things by the book. Although, despite that, this is still consistent, solid country music. This feels very much like the 60's and 70's Country music that these three women originally got big from, just with a slightly glossier paint job, and they prove here that it is a style they have a deep and thorough understanding of. Songs like The Pain Of Loving You, Hobo's Meditation, and Rosewood Casket feel like instant classics. I've Had Enough, Wildflowers, and Farther Along have a dusty form of real beauty about them. Although frankly, if you can appreciate this style of music, I can't think of a reason you'd have any real problems with any of these songs. And I do think that may be in part due to how safe this play it. That being said, even if this didn't exactly change my life, it is still very solid.

Probably can't be too objective about this review as it's so entirely outside of my usual wheelhouse (which is the point of this whole experiment, I guess), but I won't be listening again.

Pretty standard country and folk stuff. Great vocals and production, but nothing seems to be standing out. It would have been cool if these three wrote the songs together instead of doing mostly cover songs. I’ve Had Enough is the standout song here. After reading a review and getting some context for this project I have a better appreciation for it. Still not a huge fan.

It’s a sweet story of three women held as giants of their genre, joined by shared admiration for each other, who finally get to record an album together. Unfortunately the story is more intriguing than the music. Don’t get me wrong, the vocal performances are all fantastic and I understand this is a covers-heavy album, but this is some of the most boring twangy garbage I've ever heard. I want so badly to give the album a one, but out of respect for Parton, Ronstadt, and Harris, I'll give it a two. "Telling me Lies" wasn't bad either

Not sure why this needed to be on the list, each individual artist probably already have albums on it and when joined together for this album it doesn't have any real change on the outcome. I liked Wildflowers which is just a straight up Dolly Parton song. 'Telling Me Lies' could potentially be better if it didn't have the mid-80s production. I'm like ~40 albums into this list and one trend I've observed is there seems to be an emphasis on albums that have focus on vocals and specifically vocal harmonies. Personally that's not what I'm looking for all the time so maybe that's why I bristle when they seem to be overrepresented as albums I need to hear before I die.

I'll listen to it this weekend. These 2-3 hour long albums are too long for this 1001 albums thing unless it is a weekend thing.

Wow, I had Carole King, Kacey Musgraves, and now Dolly, Linda, and Emmylou - all in a row! This album concludes an incredible trio (sorry) benevolently bestowed upon me by the album gods. These are some of the most talented singer-songwriters alive, and knowing the ratio of male to female artists included in the list, it's super cool to have generated three albums in a row fronted by five women. My favorite song is the Dolly-penned Wildflowers. The traditional, Rosewood Casket, is another highlight. But their voices blend so well that every song is enjoyable. I'll have to plan on listening to Trio II (1999) as well.

These songs seem well done but I just can’t connect to this genre. Lots of themes of heartbreak with country sounds. Not unpleasant but nothing I see myself coming back to any time soon.

I mean there’s a reason Dolly is an icon. Is this music I normally listen or gravitate towards? No but nevertheless I had a good time vibing to it. I’m not sure if it’s an album I would listen to again unless I was in the mood but it was a solid country album if I do say so myself.

Despite not being a big fan of the musical genres they represent, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt have made a pretty sweet record. On their own, I respect their work and like all of them, so it shouldn't come as a surprise this is as likeable as it is, though sometimes collaboration albums could be a bit tiring, pandering and boring. This isn't the greatest album I've heard, (still more country than I care to hear) but their voices are top notch and the performances are worthwhile. I'll file this under, "listen only once in a while".

I never knew of this trio but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Just like everything with Dolly Parton.

These are unquestionably three super talented women. And there is no doubt they make beautiful music together. It’s just not a style of music (country/western) that does anything for me. But if it’s up your alley then my guess is you’ll love this record.

I know the sad white women in the late 80’s were blasting this through the speakers with a pint of Ice Cream in the bath tub. This is littered with Honky Tonk Karaoke bangers, I’m not mad at it. Not my cup of tea but I did tap my foot which is at least a 3.

Individually, these three powerful female musicians have such unique sounds and stories to tell. Together, that storytelling was amplified. Despite not being a country music fan, I really enjoyed this album and will add it to my musical rotations. 10/10!

1. The Pain of Loving You - 7 Good sound. The intro I'm not overly in love with but the guitar moves along so well, especially in the middle solo. Not a big big country music person, but this is overall a decent track. 2. Making Plans - 3 It's not a bad song but I'm not a fan of it being a trio. This would be a lot better as a solo track. 3. To Know Him Is To Love Him - 6 Decent slow song. Would be great to put on at a dance. Lyrically it's very simple but effective. Instrumentally there's barely anything there to judge. Just an okay slow song. 4. Hobo's Meditation - 7 Lovely sounding instruments and the increase and fade in octaves in the choruses are fantastic. Classic country music sound. 5. Wildflowers - 8 Great track. Solo focus here works great and lyrically the metaphors about the wild flower are excellent. Chorus is the best part of the track. Overall it just sounds solid. 6. Telling Me Lies (with Dolly Parton & Emmy Lou Harris) - 3 Another slow song but this time it's enough to lull you to sleep. It's overall not a bad song, it's just very very simply. Overly simple. 7. My Dear Companion - 5 Guitar solo half way through is the highlight of the track. Another slow song but no where near as slow as the last one. Vocals build well to a crescendo in the last part of the track before fading into good background vocals. 8. Those Memories Of You - 9 Awesome track. Guitar sounds so incredibly good and lyrically it's an easy song to sing to. The strings in the bridge are an excellent touch. Best track on the album. 9. I've Had Enough - 1 It's a lullaby. 10. Rosewood Casket - 5 Decent country music track (if not a bit morbid in it's lyrics). Instrumentally it's extremely simple but the guitars are given a little bit of space to explore into during the bridge. Overall, it's okay. 11. Farther Along - 5 Really good work on the vocals going from one singer to the other. Decent track to end on given the selection on the album. In conclusion the album is decent for country music but it's just way way way too slow. There's not enough variety in the style of composition of the tracks that makes getting to this point a real slog. As for the track itself, it's one of the better slow songs with a solid build up into the final chorus. Almost a gospel like inspiration on the track. Was the longest 39 minutes in recent memory. There's nothing "wrong" about this album, the arrangements are pleasant, the harmonies are lovely, but the songs are just awful. Depressing country, but middle-of-the-road, generic country music with a slight 80s twang to drag it even further down. It's bad enough for 1 star.

I agree with at least one other project participant who mentioned that Dolly's voice predominated this album a little too much. For my part, I do like her voice, but more so when she is singing upbeat numbers, on an album like this, I would have preferred to listen to Emmylou or Linda as the leads. Indeed, wherever the three voices were in harmony on this album, the result was spectacularly good. All in all, I'm sure I will return to this album from time to time, as in general, I like it a lot.

I found this album surprisingly boring. I had fond memories of listening to some of the songs as a kid but listening now, it felt more like strong single vocal performances during the verses and average harmonies during the choruses. For three big female country voices, it could've been more than what it turned out to be.

They all have great voices and the musicians are excellent, but that doesn't change the fact that it's straightforward country. Not my thing.

i love this album and all three women in the TRIO... a trio of queens if you ask me. this is kinda morning music too.. imagine making eggs while listening to this.. holy shit. putting some harissa on the eggs, and this is playing from the speaker... chef's kiss. you're toasting pita bread and you hear 'to have known him is to love him' gently playing from the bedroom as the love of your life stirs from their slumber.. wow. just wow

Het idee is natuurlijk wel tof, zo'n soort supergroep van drie powervrouwen uit de country wereld. Allemaal bij een ander label, wat de boel niet makkelijker maakte. Maargoed, tegelijkertijd is het eigenlijk ook niet heel veel meer dan een groot countrycliché coverfestijn. Commercieel gezien was dit ook helemaal geen verkeerd idee lijkt me. Die track 2 bijvoorbeeld klinkt me net iets teveel als 'Huilen is voor jou te laat' van Corrie Konings (en de rekels!) en ondanks dat ik weet dat tante Dolly ons respect wel gewoon verdient heeft heb ik er daardoor echt moeite mee om dit serieus te gaan zitten luisteren. Trage country balads meets smartlappen met een lach en een traan. Het levenslied. Ik krijg er jeuk van. Ik doe dus m'n best, maar ik merk aan alles dat ik hier niet helemaal voor open sta. Ik denk ook niet dat dat ooit gaat veranderen. 2,5 ster en dan streng afgerond.

Not sure how to rate this album. They all have beautiful outstanding voices but I just don't like country music. Those Memories of You stood out - maybe cause of the fiddle.

umm, i dont really know what to say, just that it was a bit mid. it wasnt bad but i wouldnt listen to it in any other occasion. it didnt woke anything in me and neither heard any song and be like "omg this is such a banger!". i liked the first track, The Pain of Loving You, but not even that song can't make me wake up one day and fancy listen to this album, or dolly parton while we're at it. this genre, the banjo-texas-country or whatever it is, is SO boring and overrated. im convinced only americans like it, istg. that being said, PLEASE, can this website STOP giving me 1960s-american-lame-ass-country albums (im looking at you, bob dylan)???? im begging, two days in a row is too much for my pop-rock-lover body.... praying for tomorrow

If you would have told me at the tender age of 12 that I would be listening to this album in 2025 and would have truly enjoyed it, I would have said that you were crazy. I loathed anything country when I was a kid, mostly because my parents latched onto it as their second coming in the 1980s and early 1990s. It was in my DNA to hate this music. Why? Because they loved it SO much. But time is a fickle thing. You put enough distance between you and something, and that revisit might be wonderful, which is what happened here. You can't beat these ladies' harmonies, and their beautiful homespun country blue grass sound is just refreshing. This was a joy to listen to, and the only thing I wish is that I had taken the time a while back to give it another listen.

An old, slow country and western album that doesn't give you anything that you can't get from another album in this genre.

Have never gone through their discographies, but growing up in the South I'm aware of each of their legendary status in the genre. This one lived up to the hype for me. One of those albums that remind me how good country can be before most of the monstrosities put out today. It faded a bit the second half but still liked it overall Rating: 4.4

Three queens of Country music combining to create a really solid album here. It had this kind of hypnotic effect on me whereby it was impossible to feel anything but comfort - even on the songs with relatively sad lyrics. Warm hug of an album. 3/5

5/10 Full-on country. It couldn't be more country. It can be twee and overwrought but the harmonies are great and they three superstars sound nothing like they look on the cover. Which is a good thing, as I was fearing an 80s C&W album with synths and the like. Maybe that isn't a thing. Whenever C&W comes up, it reminds me of my grandad, so that is a good thing.

Super smooth 80s pop-country. It's not a complete blind spot for me - the Loretta Lynn album featured on this list is fabulous and I probably would buy if it was on CD - but this is just a bit to MOR, fabulously sung though it is. 2.5 really but should we as many have commented round up for Linda Rondstadt's remarkable wig on the cover? Er no.

Begrijp me niet verkeerd, ik WIL dit album heel graag vet vinden. Dolly is een heldin en Emmylou had een prima album dat ik eerder al hoorde. Linda Ronstadt ken ik niet zo goed. 2e helft van het album is wel sterker en ik irriteer me niet. Het is een prettig country album wat goed wegluistert! De zang is ook echt ijzersterk, maar ik durf nu wel te zeggen dat Country gewoon niet echt mijn genre is. Overall: 7/10 Man, I still don't really love country but it really helps having Dolly on vocals. I enjoy Linda and Emmylou's voices as well, and the three of them harmonize so beautifully together, but there's just something about Dolly's inflection that tickles my ears in the best way. The songs are twangy and kind of corny like country usually is, but it's fine here. Some of the songs are straight up bangers and some of them bore me to tears. Looking for some beautiful harmonies? You'll get them right here. All in all, this is extremely tame stuff. It's lovely -- but not all that exciting. Enjoyable enough, but the music that came on afterwards was more interesting to me.
