A few moments of interest but on the whole just not my style.
Good enough, not my favorite but good enough. 2.5/5
mostly okay to listen to. i probably wouldnt listen again by search but would be fine if it was playing. the guitars were beautiful but im not a fan of the chunky sound that seems to span multiple of their songs. i think that noise takes away from the music for me. i downloaded orion and welcome home
Don’t quite have it in me.
two nice tracks, rest forgettable and not for me
Eugh it just all sounds the same and I genuinely have no idea if I can give it the credit of good song writing. I know it isn't my genre of choice so therefore maybe it is unfair, that said it did nothing for me so maybe I just rate on that
Meh, same old Metallica stuff really
Meh
Thrash, men litt gøy også.
Amazing
It’s very loud for a very long time Which is fine but a bit draining after a while
Was surprisingly disappointing. All the songs sounded the same and none of them sounded good all the way through. Some great guitar broke through a bunch but that was the only part I liked and it was not enough for me to enjoy the album. 2.5 stars
Låten Master of puppets är ganska bra.
Eh
I don't like Metallica. The more driving parts of the songs were enjoyable, however I now think it should be illegal to have more than two guitar solos in an album.
Voces y ruidos. Molesto. Sin ritmo.
2/5
It’s got energy. The vocals and instrumentals both get tiring to me pretty quickly. Prefer more variety.
I just don't enjoy this at all. It's like being beaten over the head with a hammer for an hour. Whatever happened to subtlety? To nuance? Understatement? Blech. 2 stars.
That was a slog. I found it really boring.
too much Metallica, Welcome Home is good though
the more i hear of metallica the more i think they are what would happen if you asked AI to write some metal music. either that's a compliment that they are genre defining or its an insult saying they are generic, either way i don't get it.
No thanks. Don't like the guitar sound.- distortion on the riffs. Most songs follow the same format: an intricate, melodic and delicate intro, then just when you begin to think it might be interesting and different, bang! In comes the distorted riff. Boring.
Compared to The "... And Justice For All" (1 star) I found this better (so 2 stars), some subtle parts I started to like but then, well: same silly music starting again. Just not into metal. This one 2 stars
If it's too loud, you're too old. I'm too old.
I never claimed to be a true metalhead and I think that me liking Metallica's more melodic records proves that.
Loud, obnoxious, and honestly kinda boring
Not an enjoyable listen. Most of the songs sounded the same. It was very monotone and boring. Most of the lyrics sounded clunky and the vocals too shouty to work. Massively overhyped and i’m very disappointed as I was expecting more.
Metallica doing their metallica thing. I'm not a fan.
The guitar work is cool, but I just do not love metal music. Maybe it's because I listened to it at 8am on a work day, but who knows.
Such fake emotions. Sanatorium!
Meh
Blarg. Thrash metal is not my jam. That said, I understand why this is on the list and there's a political edge to this album that I can respect. The title track was my "favorite" of these songs that I generally didn't enjoy. 2/5
Kinda mid besides master of puppets
I guess this is technically impressive but the style leaves me cold, and it all sounds a bit silly and pretty fucking irritating. The band seem like dickheads, to make it even less attractive
ugh
I don't enjoy this style of music.
I'm sure Metallica have done some better stuff than this. Just too much chugga-chugga-grr
Never have liked Metallica all that much. I guess I understand the appeal, but this didn't change my mind.
Dobro.
Arvostava 2. Hyvä albumi. Jos katsoo taajuuskuvaajalla metallia tajuaa miksi älyttömien laji. Brownin kohina... 1/f^0 unainen.. ruskea.. jumalauta! Paskon housuun! Uskomatonta!
Meh. Sabbath did it better.
Bill Bailey – comedian, muso and winner of the 2020 Strictly Come Dancing trophy loves Metallica. He actually did a Tango to some Metallica song - Enter Sandman. Bill Bailey is a lovely lovely man and very knowledgeable about music so because of him I listened to this as impartially as I could, even though I hate metal. So either it was a day that hell had frozen over or I was a victim of the invasion of the body snatchers but I Didn’t Hate This. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t particularly like it and I don’t think I’d ever listen to it again voluntarily. But it wasn’t the worst album I’ve listened to for this project. I actually think I might have given it a bigger score if Enter Sandman was on this album. But I could discern music rather than just NOISE. I think I must have gone through a portal into the multiverse.
I had an idiot roommate in the dorms play this at 2am every night. I might be biased. Metallica, take your 2 stars and let's move on with our lives.
Not bad, but very predictable.
Boring as hell
Really underwhelming. I mean, it's not my type of music anyway, but this is held in such high esteem by metal people and I don't really know why? We've had a few metal albums over the course of our 250 albums so far, and the Judas Priest one was streets ahead of this. Don't particularly like the guy's voice (yeah, I know metal is supposed to have an edge to it, but it's always better when they actually sing as well), it's long, repetitive, and convoluted. 2/5.
Driving rhythms, but just not my thing
not my jam. the technical aspects are all excellent, but i just can’t get into these long songs, i felt bored after 2 minutes.
I'm sure plenty of people could tell me why I'm wrong, but this is just too repetitive (minus a couple fun ones).
I love the instrumentation but I can't stand James Hetfield's voice. He's completely tuneless, just barking and yelling at me over the good music.
maybe a cool album, but not in my world and not in my mind, the timing is too long, often the tracks get boring
like some songs, but too metal for me
In my rebellious teenager phase, I tried and failed to get into Metallica. No I’m in my rebellious adult phase, nothing much has changed. I just don’t find the majority of Metallica’s work sonically interesting enough - though I’m sure this album must have hit like a ton of bricks back in 1986. While there are some good moments when the thrash hits its groove, there are too many bloated tracks (the title track just doesn’t need to be over 8 minutes long), and the production on Hetfield’s vocals has always grated on me. It’s a solid 2 for me, elevated by the singular outstanding track Orion. Although I still prefer the Rodrigo y Gabriela cover.
From the services available, I could only get one song and not the whole album. Metallica seems like a band I should like, but they have never connected with me. I feel like listening to the one song available I have basically heard every Metallica song. In summary, meh.
I am not a metal head. I can appreciate that many folks enjoy this fast, loud, head banging cacophony. Listening to Master of Puppets (the song) there are some elements I like---the drums, some of the guitar riffs, but when you put it all together I physically get knots in my stomach and my ears ring. The volume for today's album was the same as yesterday's and I had to turn this down to 4 rather than the previous day's 11. I appreciate the political statements throughout the album, particularly on Disposable Heroes. The cover art is great and I always thought the Metallica logo did a good job at capturing the essence of the band/music genre. Bottom line: metal makes me angry.
Not really my thing - not enough melody, not even Orion.
I never listened to this band much when they were putting stuff out, and - honestly - I probably would have hated it at the time. But now, it’s hitting me at the right time. I can’t even explain what I like about it - the music is cool, there is some fun wordplay, but nothing objectively special. Still - I really like it.
A couple songs were OK but basically if you like Metallica you will like this. Not my jam though.
metallica is very heavy metal which i am not super hard core fan of. it was very chaotic all around, some of it was okay but overall it was a lot.
Man, was I ready to hate this. I really cannot stand the Metallica you hear on the radio - every song some diversion in E minor with James Hetfield's awful stupid growly roar after every phrase. I really really don't like them, and only had been peripherally aware of their early material ("...And Justice For All" and back) - I recall appreciating a few cuts so I'm ready... And...i still don't *really* like this - thrash is not my bag in any fashion. But there's a lot to appreciate musically here - twin guitar parts (as a big Maiden fan I do like these parts), acoustic-to-electric dynamics, time signature changes. From a musician p.o.v. I can listen for these. Favourite parts: middle section in "Master of Puppets" - sounds like a full Iron Maiden tribute - and "Orion" (no vocals, mostly medium tempo). Least favourite parts: anything double-timed (alas, most of the album) and any part where Hetfield is singing (again...). It's a personal taste thing - mostly the frenetic pace is nothing I can identify with or enjoy; those double-kick drums assaulting my ears don't help either - I absolutely do get why some people like this, I'm just not one of them. 2 stars is my personal rating but it's also unquestionably a creative album and showing off some impressive musical chops; stuck out in the 80s in a time where melodic poppy hard rock was dominating. 6/10 for impact - 2 stars for me
2/5 not into this kind of music
Got better but still not my thing. Speed metal annoys me. Glad I heard Sabbath and Zeppelin as a kid. Didn't add.
Oh god, do I have to...?
Yeah yeah yeah, you can play really fast and stuff. I remember hearing this in middle school and being kind of scared of it. 20 years later, it just sounds silly and annoying and I want it to stop.
Bland. Samey. No bangers. Warm up for the good stuff methinks
Reminds me of my alcoholic uncle
Too heavy for me - even the famous tracks. I can only work with Black Album Metallica, everything else just feels a bit too aggressive
I'm not a metal fan. It is difficult for me to listen to this album, not saying that it is bad, but I like punk rock.
eh,
I didn't dislike it
Not my favorite album, even for Metallica/the genre.
Kind of got old after 56 mins of hard rock. To be fair, it’s not my favorite genre so I don’t have a huge interest in it, it’s not the work. Definitely could see the influences to bands I used to listen to like Avenged Sevenfold. 4/10
Metal...what else to say...
Boop
More than fine with the knowledge I'll never be a Metallica fan. Liked this more than expected but it really does just become an incessant drone after Welcome Home. Saved: The Thing That Should Not Be, Welcome Home (Sanitarium)*
Come on
nothing specil. nice bit of fret wanking but thats about it
The Thing That Should Not Be.
I’ve never listened to a Metallica album before. Certainly aware of this album, but looking at the track listing don’t recognize a single song. ”Battery” surprised me from the git-go. I had not expected soft guitar. Nice of them to ease me into the water a bit. Once in I’m finding the water a tad too hot for me. Excellent playing, although The Poseidon Adventure comes to mind: “I can’t take this. Give me a Strauss waltz.” “Master of Puppets”… maybe going down a little easier. Like the previous song, there’s a break in the middle for the unexpectedly calm and pretty guitar solo. Is this a thing in their music? Give you a little palette cleanser before the second half of the song? I’m enjoying this middle section. I see why these guys are legendary musicians. That middle part almost had me liking the song. “The Thing That Should Not Be” is plenty dark. There’s that grinding guitar. How long is this song? “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” thankfully is taking things down a notch. Still not connecting. Halfway through. Must…press… on… “Disposable Heros” - the music is well-suited to the topic of war. Neither is pleasant. Maybe all war songs should sound like this. And like war, really anxious for this to be over. “Leper Messiah” is my favorite song so far. These songs are long though aren’t they? I wasn’t expecting an instrumental, but here’s “Orion”. It’s better than I expected. The soft interlude is quite nice. This is my favorite song on this album. I’d like to hear a symphonic arrangement of this. “Damage, Inc.” has lyrics that fit the music very well. I made it through a listen from beginning to end… not unhappy for the experience. I appreciate the skill of the performers, but struggled to find any connection to this music. I’m afraid I’m just not dressed for this party.
There’s only one Metallica album that’s more than just a collection of songs, and it isn’t this one. Also, I don’t get the shrill sound
Not my type of music and no tunes I recognized... maybe I wasn't in the mood for it
Hearing some early Metallica with Cliff Burton was interesting, but I don't see listening to this music by my own choice. The title track verged on being okay. There is enough "meedly-meedly-mee" from Kirk Hammett to keep Strong Bad happy. The "chug-chug-chug" that drives extended sections of most (¿all?) tracks wears out my patience. Metallica is not for me.
For what it is, it is quite enjoyable. Areas seem very dated now, especially the vocals and guitar solos. Wasn't into this when I was younger, and I wouldn't pick it out to listen to again, but I can see the appeal.
It's to much hard rock
Did not enjoy
INTRO These songs are too long Favorites: Battery
Already starting with some strong guitar. Hmm, just some strong guitar, which I can tell takes skill to play, but isn't that appealing, followed by a guy repeating the same words angrily.
Voces y ruidos. Molesto. Sin ritmo.
Meh not my thing
meh
Blackened is a fine spirit, but this is not my style and the songs sound the same.
Can’t upset the Manta-Ray! Classic dum-dum-dum-dum electric guitar, maybe started here? All i know is half of the songs sound like a douchebag’s motorcycle trying to start.
I don't like metal
I mean, epic for powerlifting, gang fights and satanic rituals but not great anywhere with mixed company.
Just not a metal fan. There were a few interesting moments, but not enough to want to listen again.
nah. Probably great but I'm not a fan.
Definitely not my cup of tea but 1-2 were slightly pleasantly surprising. Overall would not try again
Slow pedantic stuff. Doesnt so much rock as creaks. I think i have a tin ear for heavy metal as the vast majority of it is just nonsense
bored me to death
not listening to ts
I'm sure there are many who could disabuse me of the notion that this is a paint-by-numbers metal album but that is what most of it sounds like to me.
I like that it's ok that I don't like this. And I really don't like this.
hellllll nah
Couldnt finish it :(
I’d never properly listened to Metallica other than their cover of Whiskey in the jar - which I enjoyed before I heard the original and there’s just no comparison. Anyway this was like an endurance challenge, I just wanted it to be over. I just find this so try hard and over produced from lyrics, to music, to image. Not for me at all.
Metal is terrible. I hate listening to it, and I hate Metallica. It’s everywhere, and I’ve had enough.
Gross
ugh
Rabid songs about darkness, death, demons, destruction, and dying. Very formulaic, very similar songs; simple base line, high speed lead guitar, immediate pause, scream one word (or short phrase) repeatedly, speed it back up. They are talented musicians, but (1.4*s) very glad when Master of None was over and behind me.
Not my thing. I like some of Metallica’s later stuff. This is a little too angry for me
that album just wasn‘t it
I think it was fine, just not for me. Loved the music composition, really talented guitarist.
I just never got the wider Metallica thing apart from a few songs. I really really dislike Lars’ drumming on this album, he sounds sloppy and weak.
I was exhausted after this
There are about 30 seconds to a minute of each song I like, often towards the end. But the songs are too long. 1.5
Err…55 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back, utterly without merit.
Not my thing
Metallica is so droning and boring
Wow did I hate that!
Cannot do Metallica, not enjoyable.
Not a fan of Metallica at all. I really tried to keep an open mind and give this album the benefit of the doubt but Thrash Metal like this really isn't my genre.
My first Metallica album on this list was "... And Justice for All". I was hoping to have a better reaction to this one - but alas, that was not to be. I dig the point of view of the lyrics of these songs - such as "Leper Messiah" (anti-organized religion, also cool that they took this title from a line in David Bowie's song "Ziggy Stardust"), "Disposable Heroes" (anti-war), and "Master of Puppets" (addressing the dangers of drug addiction). I respect them for not doing the stupid hair metal band crap from the 80s. The Instrumental song ("Orion") is ok and is the only song I "liked". But ... I just do not enjoy the listening experience to pretty much all of this. It just sounds like a guy shouting over completely spastic, hyper music. I don't have any desire to sit and listen to this again. I'm thinking thrash metal is just not for me. Silver lining - at least I only have 2 more Metallica albums to be forced to listen to on this list :) Liked songs on Spotify: 1/8 Rating: 1/5
Couldn't make it past the second song!
Just a personal preference l. Im not into metal/rock but I still wanted to give it a try.
Two Metallica albums in three days might seem like a lot for you, but this is normal for dark and twisted guys like me. 😎 3
Prob some of the worst bombolclat ever (Not racist btw)
Not for me.
One of those dread days of enduring aural pain for the project. Initially I was hopeful as it only has 8 songs, but then noticed the album is 54 minutes so they are unfortunately interminably and unecessarily long. When albums like this are listed as the 99th best album of all time, maybe it needs ratings like mine to temper this, but too many non-metal heads steer clear and can't tolerate enough to give it a proper critical rating. Half way through the title song the mire pauses for some musicianship and my brain wakes up & can believe for a minute that it's listening to music and not an barrage of machinery. That break doesn't last of course and we're chundering away soon enough and shaking our hair around. You have to be there (and have long hair to shake), I guess. I am not against heavy hard rock per se and two of my favourite albums are by The God Machine, but this is like purgatory before the pleasures of hell.
My favorite cut was the Orc Battle Hymn - just kidding. Most cuts sound like Orc Battle Hymns. Disposable Heroes was interesting. Well-executed metal is still angry af music and just doesn’t appeal.
yeah no, not my type of music
Kann ich gar nix mit anfangen 2/10.
I know they make people happy, so enjoy away. But I was happy when it ended.
Unnecessary
not a fan of metallica, not my vibe
not a metallica fan at all, this was so hard to get through
nope
Not for me
Nor this
Not my cup of tea.
GETTING CAUGHT UP! I can't lie, this album did nothing for me, I'm just not a Metal guy. however: Orion was SICK, especially the direct middle point when it gets kinda funky. but still only gets up to, like, a 1.5 for me. I know it's good stuff, but it's not for me
Oh whatever.
this gave me such a visceral reaction? i know i'm new to the rock game but DAMN. this is not my vibe.....
This is the second metallica album on my list the last less than 5 albums ago. Metallica is the most over rated band in the world period
Don't like metallica
Not for me, but good for you if you like it!
Make it stop.
As a lover of metal, this band sucks ass. I feel ashamed for listening to this album.
I tried, but I just do not like metal
Sorry, just didn't enjoy it at all.
is this our 20th metallica album cause it feels like it
I despise metal. Including this.
Trash metal. My cat sounds better, if you poke her with a pointed stick!
More like "Bunch of Muppets".
Overrated
I have never been a fan of Metallica but I have to admit, the band is talented- even if metal is not my style.
Way too much drums. This is shit criticism but there's no space no air
Not my cup of tea; couldn't wait for it to be over.
Not my bag.
not my style at all
Würg!
A lot of five star reviews but I don’t get the hype. Too aggressive, depressing lyrics, kinda scary.
This album is good for exactly 36 seconds before turning into wet hot garbage. Fuck I hate Metallics so much. Just an actual war crime against music. Absolutely fuck this band now and forever.
Not for me.
Not my week
The silence between the tracks was welcome relief.
Actually mind numbing
No no no
Not a fan
Meticulously crafted bunch of cacophonies.
Overrated
I have to admit that before I sat down and listened to Metallica’s Master of Puppets in its entirety today, I really never saw their appeal. Now that I have listened though, it makes even less fucking sense to me. What a load of lifeless, soulless, monotonous, dead inside, musically tedious, lyrically banal, non-melodic claptrap. Even the guitar solos are high pitched mile a minute painfully ear shattering displays of mindless pyrotechnics devoid of any subtlety or emotion. My wife was mowing the lawn while I was listening, so my favorite parts of this album were the parts that were on when she walked past the window with the lawnmower, which drowned out the “music” Other than all that though, I hated this.
Not a huge metal fan so that hurt
Okay, the thrash Stockholm syndrome is starting. This got a few "huh?"s out of me. Maybe another dozen albums will make me appreciate this. Until then, I've done too much construction work to find power tools metal appealing.
Not my jam
I know people love Metallica, but I just don't get it. Musically competent, and I'm sure this is great I'd it's your kind of thing, but it's not for me.
Not for me. Never has been, probably never will be 1/5
Kjedelig og masete
Lot of 5 star reviews on this one. But not from me. After 4 songs, I stopped it. Just not for me.
I tried and I failed 😐
No thanks. Hate heavy music
Incredibly masculine. The first songs are so similar that it's hard to tell them apart. It then mellows out. To sure up again. But the lyric does not resonate with me.
not listening
Not for me
I didn’t want to finish it, but I did
Would have gone hard if it was the first music i ever heard
No. Lulu only.
No!!! More metal, to my ears predictable but not completely meritless. Don’t think I’ll listen again though.
Pass.
Never cared for Metallica.
Still can't
not my thing
Oh God...
I’m not a metal fan. Seems in line with their album portfolio.
I was new to this, and I've never liked Metallica. It started off with a really nice Spanish guitar. I immediately assumed I'd misjudged. I wondered for a second if I had accidentally found a Mariachi tribute to Metallica. And then Metallica started. There are times throughout where there is a melody and slower actual music, but it's mostly fat chugging through an anal aneurysm in my ears. I will never understand how people enjoy this. It's like everyone got swept up in thinking they're supposed to like it the way everyone did with Dave Matthews Band 20 years ago; some sort of dirtbag peer pressure. Imagine Napster being shut down over this garbage. I tried to just ignore it and listen in the background at work, but ignoring Metallica is like having a picnic in a cow pasture and ignoring the flies. I got through it, but I'm not the better for it. I wonder if there is a mariachi version I can go enjoy.
So goofy silly but takes itself so seriously.
Bailed after 1.5 tracks - life is too short. Unless you are in Metallica, in which case it probably seems too long.
Refused to listen.
Thanks. Listened. Orion is ok, not interested in the rest. Thrash metal ain't my thing, the pulsing guitar riffs set me off in a not-good-way. METALICA not my thing confirmed. 1 star.
not jazz
Brutal (except "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," which merely sucked). Unwelcome visions in my head of 80s-era proto-incels slam dancing. The only essential question is how long this album will mess with my Spotify algorithm.
I know this is a classic and many people enjoy it. I'm sure it's amazing. I had to stop listening about 30% through the album. For me, it felt like being aggressively fucked in the ears. Not pleasant.
I just can’t though I can appreciate their brilliance. It’s just a genre I can’t do. 1
90 seconds into first song and didn’t fancy it.
Noooooooooooooooooooooo.
Ich mag einfach keinen Metall.
This is poor. I don't understand how such loud, in your face music can be so boring, but it's really, really dull. I'm just coming to the end of the second song and it's already starting to piss me off with it's shit repetition. An easy one. Total shite.
Really not very good at all
Not for me.
Nah. Just not my thing. Didn't enjoy it at all.
i don't wanna say that metal is not my genre, because i like the metal my friends make, but i simply don't have this much energy or care that much about what men have to say; I fell asleep and woke up halfway through orion, then had to relisten.
Nah.
Stop it. ✋
Great sound, great vibes, tons of classics. But, FUCK METALLICA AND FUCK THE RIAA one star
I wouldn't even download this for free on Napster.
Trenchent and thematically Sophmoric in its doom infused drama, hearing this right after Back In Black makes it sound like an emotionless brick. Not impressed.
Ehh, I guess if you’re into head-banding stuff, you can knock yourself out in this one. Not for me thanks
Precursor to screamo music?
want to like this but i really just cant stand thrash
Can’t stand this band
Dreadful
Yet another band that - in spite of its international success and renown - has never really resonated with me at all.
It was too much for me. Not a fan. It’s too metal, too loud and didn’t pique my interest. Was just waiting for it to end.
No thanks. The second half of the album salvaged half a point 1.0
I made it through 3 tracks - which all sounded the same. This feels like a band that is trying to sound like Black Sabbath or Zeppelin and just fails miserably. Metallica is the Wonder Bread of Metal.
shapeless metal, i don't like this genre. the guitar solos are great though, i appreciate more this music when it gets sad update : nah i definitely don't like this album
One of the worst things to happen to music in my lifetime.
Better than I expected... some moments were actually melodic and soothing. I don't know why I had imagined them to be really scream-o
Bobby Axelrod from the show Billions was a big Metallica fan…that character’s personality rubs me the wrong way just like Metallica’s music. I just cannot find anything good about their music. It is just intolerable to my taste.
It's like i'm edging the whole time, except i'm on the edge of pleasure instead of orgasm.
Make it stop
Nope
not for me
Ok. I’ve now listened to a Metallica album and never have to listen to one again (except that reading the reviews I noticed there’s a live Metallica album in the generator 😬). This was an album where reading the wiki entry was actually a bad thing because it gave me hope that I might like the album. For all the supposed thought that went into the lyrics and the “this guitar part is supposed to represent this idea” I certainly didn’t hear or get it. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an album that seems to have so much effort behind its planning and execution that left me so unimpressed and bored. Oh, and how about a melody once in awhile Metallica? At least Judas Priest has a few songs you can hum.
I’m sure it’s technically very proficient but I hated every last second.
Well, this was relaxing. I got the giggles during Leper Messiah which I don’t think was the effect they were after. I thought I was on the home stretch but then Orion went on for over 8 minutes. I can’t imagine a time when I’d choose to listen to this again.
NOOOOOO battery- :I its better when he doesnt talk 3 master of puppets- 1 the thing that should not be- the thing that shouldnt be is metallica. 2 welcome home- 2 disposable heroes- 2 leper messiah- 3 orion- 1. torture. if you put me in a white room and made me listen to this on loop, id go insane damage inc- i was about to say this was the best song on the album and then he had to start singing... 3 or 4 i dont hate metal. but i hate this kind of metal
Definitely not my genre of music. The tracks all run together for me. The heavy metal hard-driving rock all sounds the same (in a way that I don't enjoy).
Nicht meine Musik .. zu anstrengend
Admired the neoclassical guitar riffs and appreciated the technical prowess. Beyond that, I was resisting the mantra in my head: “make it end, please, make it end.”
No me gusta el metal
Terrible - total bunch of noise and screaming
metal rock
Music for insecure schoolboys and mid life crisis males
Sometimes you just have to draw a line in the sand: I'm not listening to any more Metallica.
There is far too much Metallica on this 1001 album list!
Not for me.
I was a fan of Metallica for about 2 months as a middle school student. After that, they just don't resonate with me. Every song on this album sounded and felt just like every other song on this album.
not for me
I have never been able get into this album. Their others were much easier to listen to for me.
Angry, not to my taste, too much power chord grinding. 1/5
EW METAL
Really not my thing
Aaaack. Most annoying bunch of wannabe posers in the industry. Even worse, they’re boring. How anyone takes them seriously is beyond me
Not for me
I have heard this before Can not take anymore Will you please leave me a lone.... Long lost lyrics to Metallica song better than what was released.
I'm noticing a notable harder rock theme on Fridays. I'm assuming this is not a coincidence. Generally this is not the genre for me. I know this is a well-known great album, it's just not for me.
Meh. We tried listening while walking, but it didn’t resonate.
Terrible
Not my cup of tea at all.
8 tracks, all largely indistinguishable to my ears. Quiet intro, suddenly excessively fast guitars, loud drums and shouting. Wasn't into this in 1986 as an impressionable 18 year old, and no change 37 years later
Nope. I just can’t deal with Metallica beyond the big hits.
This was ass
just not my taste
- Battery : it sounds like someone is drilling my brain. TrrrTrrrTrrr... - Master Of Puppets : 8 minutes was a bit too long - The Thing That Should Not Be : Not memorable - Welcome Home : Finally something softer but after 2 minutes it sounded like it was Master Of Puppets but with different lyrics - Disposable Heroes : Not memorable - Leper Messiah : Not memorable - Orion : I like it better when they don't sing. Had potential but went downhill when it was supposed to go hard at the end of the song. - Damage, Inc : I'm definitely sick of Metallica
What the fuckin' hell is this load of codswallop? A vanity project for virgins. Last picked for the football team and bullied by the cool kids. Metallica are a wet dream on a school trip. They're so angry and, boy, do I not care
I don't like any heavy metal music, so I didn't like this one at all. This isn't passing judgement on the band, however, just my own taste.
First one I couldn’t play through. It’s just not good.
Mosher madness, not a vibe
Mehhh not for me, I like a few Metallica songs but none from this album
Rubbish
didn't like
Not for me, to heavy
Im gonna be honest, i really didnt like it, maybe i wasnt in the right head space but it just wasnt it
Nah.
