Now I know why people heat up albums and make lamp shades out of them.

Proof that Talking Heads was more than David Byrne. The OTHER members keep pushing limits in what is an instrument to song composition.
I do not like Morissey, never have never will. The Smiths would have been even bigger with a different condescending front man.
Great album to clean your apartment to. Never been a big fan but it's good background music.
Paul Rogers is awesome. Probably best voice of the generation. Solid!

It is fine. A couple good songs some seem like a repeat.
Have always been a fan and glad to see Smash get wider love. Very representative of ‘90s-00’s skate punk.
Took me back to my youth. 3 hits right off top and then you get to Mark’s bluesier side and I like that.
I really didn’t like the falsetto before and this is still a bit much but the music is very strong.
Always enjoy The Doors
I appreciate the artistry but can take Radiohead only in small doses. In other words I need to be in the mood for them.
I have heard this before Can not take anymore Will you please leave me a lone.... Long lost lyrics to Metallica song better than what was released.
This would be great to listen to in a bar - live that is. I can see myself drinking a beer and enjoying this show.
Great album to clean your apartment to. Never been a big fan but it's good background music.
Childhood memories of listening to the radio on Sunday morning. Karen Carpenter was very talented, gone way to soon.
Growing up in Midwest, this wasn’t around much. Very much needed but not as widely known.
Definitely miss the BIG sound of the 70’s
Simple yet satisfying. I’ve always been a fan.
Very eclectic collection of songs.
Awesome been a huge fan for a long time. This album front to back solid.
hare krishna, krishna krishna.....
Protest
Another album that I wouldn’t pull first but for a day of listening, this should be on the stack.
Not too interested.
wow.
Glad to not see the radio pushed tracks from VU get some love. Solid, tight playing throughout. Would have liked a different track to open the album though....
Gimmicky
Power driven tracks somewhat similar but still was able to listen straight through... sometimes you can't get past the first 10 seconds with some of the other artists this site has pushed me to.
Childhood!
Everyone should listen once AND THEN MOVE ON!
Hey Rock&Roll Hall of Fame! If you have The Cure and gawd awful Aerosmith in then IRON f-ing MAIDEN should have been in long ago. The length of their career and breadth of their catalog surpasses most of your members.... get off your arse and for this album alone PUT THEM IN!
Need to be in the mood
Nice change of pace.
Good song writer, not a solid singer...
I want to revisit this again and again.
Never really thought this would be something I would like but there is something in there... something in the rhythm, lyrics, and haunting voice on some of the tracks. I love the way she stays in her vocal range and doesn't press it.
Was not a huge fan when this came out but the musicality of this album will stand the test of time.
!
A whole side of an album dedicated to 1 song... Stick it up your arse record company and radio stations this is for the fans.
eh....
Roller rink soundtrack!
There are better albums but true blues/bluegrass/country
Solid
eh
A couple iconic songs from the era...
Talented
Ok
Where you at? Enough said....
Couple of good songs and then a bunch of Phish/Greatful Dead preview
Another one from when I had hair
Too much synth for me.
There is a time and place and now is not the time and I don't know where that place would be except the early 70's Laurel Hill Canyon
Those drums!
At the time, it was big, loud, different. Not sure if whole album ages well but the 'hits' are still good.
How solid of a job is this album if close to what 30 years later a country singer can win an award with it? Also, how sad that happened? Good for Tracy Chapman - your voice on this album is fantastic and should be listened to as a whole not just one song.
Es ist gut.
Pretentious.
Haven't listened to 'Ye but this is very well done.
always looked at him as self centered and not this visionary that others do. more of the same, sorry not sorry.
They really enjoyed making this didn't they?
Apartment Cleaning Music
Now I know why people heat up albums and make lamp shades out of them.
ehh
The album cover drew me in at first sight. The music didn't fail to live up to the 'mistake' of a picture. Or so the photographer thought....
I really don't drop acid anymore.
a couple gems in this album.
Childhood.
People in the 60's were looking for something hard, out came Led Zepplin, Black Sabath, etc. Now fast forward to the 90's and 00's and we are still looking for something new and still hard... out comes Rage. It's not for everyone but for those looking for something HARD you have found it.
Completely forgot about this band... is that good or bad? Still trying to figure that out.
Groundbreaking? Not sure but like the play on words. I bet the hardest song for him to sing was only 2:03 long. Reliving losing your friend to such a terrible drug has got to be hard.
Love The Doors sample
Enjoyable.
THumbs UP
Very honkytonk-esque. Kinks really changed through the years too bad the brothers had to fight so much. Maybe that's why they varied musically so much?
Never been my cup of tea but it does have a couple good tunes on it.
Saw them in mid 80's fuzzy guitars and all.
Fiona Apple is the female Morrisey can't stand either.
Aqquired Taste
Thick in the Bluegrass, simple powerful heartfelt.
Has me longing for the days in the admin office of Graduate Studies at KU. This 'tape' got me through days of putting applications in numerical order... thank you The Police.
Really didn’t listen to her back then. Later on discovered her voice was awesome.
Awesome!
Much more than Song2. Too bad the States didn't grasp this.
Eh.
Typical for that era, can't wait to see and hear what would develop.
Typical fish story a lot bigger until you see it.
'70s at its best.
Acid is GReAt!
Iconic
I really enjoy the juxtaposition of the two styles between Andre 3000 and Big Boi.
Enjoyable
ELP is like if Yes went to grad school and jazz improve camp.
I really missed out on a great album
Are they the second coming of The Kinks? Brothers who don't like each other but if they could set that aside - good music comes out. Or is it the hatred that fueled the music?
!
One step away from my personal favorite, Yessongs.
Great bass lines.
Extension of Television?
I miss Chris Cornelllllllllllllll
Very enjoyable.
Been said several times that it's hard to believe they weren't from the South but like all artists - you find what you like and form your style around it. The Beatles didn't live in the South and hang around the sould/R&B artists of the late 50's early 60's. Get a grip! CCR did it well. Too bad they didn't get along and stay together...
'80s college vintage
Is this just Wilco with a different singer?
Take either the voice or melody away and you have crap. Perfect combination.
Blocking out the 'statement' look.
Trying too hard to be second coming if J. Mitchell and Joan Baez
ehh.
Amazing! Hard to believe there are so many pop/rock hits on one album. Reminds me of albums released in '73 - not style as much as good solid music.
It's alright
This is awesome on vinyl... the depth and warmth vinyl provides makes this a 'drop it on and sit and sip a drink' awesome!
Another in the long line of Enya? Obviously not my cup of tea.
Breakthrough? No, just simple blues scales and attitude from drum kit to vocals.
Almost forget how PROG ROCK Queen was in early days but why? Everything they did was PROG.
For fear of SWIFT retribution... very 'pop-y' and if that's your thing this is great.
Futuristic movie soundtrack.
Internal conflict seems to be a common thread with music.
Time and place. Need to listen later not the time or place.
Seems like there’s no direction on any of the songs.
Too bad Hollywood got stuck on ONE song.
McGuinn's guitar style and choice blended rock music with folk music... maybe this was an influence for Dylan to pick up and 'electrify' his music?
Finally George's song writing broke through the Mcartney/Lennon wall!
One hit wonder in a Wonder Bread time of pop music
Couple good songs eventually redeemed by trying to keep LaLa going...
Had its moments.
Vast catalog
Kind of depressing BUT great timber in the voice
It's alright
What you expect but with depth.
Solid 70's
First introduction to Byrd was very jarring to me. This side and cooperation with Stan Getz is AWESOME. Two legends playing off each other.
Love and Hate this album. Love the songs and samples... hate the resuscitation of Aerosmith's career.
Knew nothing of this and am glad I found out.
Now I know why the faces are not seen...
the power of Christine McVie's songs probably the most overlooked songwriter by people who didn't know and thought Mac was all Nicks and Buckingham...
What a powerful voice
It would have been nice to see her career arch...
Awesome.!
2 people? that sound?
Need to be in mood for it.
I wish more traditional blues and rock and roll would come back.
Shouldn't it be Beach Boy?
Two very top Grunge songs - check that - two top songs period.
techno with soft vocals.
Despise Morrissey - take him away and you have great musicians. Some say he IS the band. Could have been so much more without a pretentious lead singer - no he is not eclectic.
Proof that Talking Heads was more than David Byrne. The OTHER members keep pushing limits in what is an instrument to song composition.
Not my cup of tea... hard to get into.
In the mood?
Why, innovative but sooo much more out there.
Folk people come and go....
already
Folk and again... some much more out there.
Fusion of Funk, Reggae, and Latin. Done extremely well.
Good!
About time this list includes brilliant short-lived groups. Hard to believe this was freshman effort by the trio. There was a lot of energy in the 'college' scene in '80s and early '90s.
David Grey meets Coldplay...
Not as groundbreaking as MTV wants you to believe. This and carson Daily are why MTV sucks.
Love the mono stereo sound. Very unique
Bring the Noise
Yes, Free Bird but better is Simple Man plain and simple.
Conflicted - love the raw driving songs I just wish I hadn't seen pompousness of lead singer this seems counterproductive to the energy and in your face-ness of songs.
Great musicians need more like them.
Keep feeding us this whatever it is and sometime I will have a brain fart and appear to like it. 2 Tom Waits albums? Really? Might have to end my listening here.
Too short of relevance.
Awesome period end of sentence!
It's fine.
Not the Number 1 album according to Apple. It's good but not the best of all time.
Very popular. Also, seems to be a play toy for McCartney. Outside of a couple songs w=he seemed to be jacking around.
Like the musicality
You've heard of Bro Country... here's Chick Country?
Churn churn churn... He must have been something to see in the 70's. All that material, did he ever sleep?
Amazing album wish my live experience wasn't so bad. Would love to give him another shot.
Musucality through the roof. Note to 2024, get rid of autotune and get back to singing and melody making.
Want more than a cover album. Don't treat his work as an afterthought.
Music to clean your house by.
Best album of their catalog but still detest this band - lead singer.
Solid apartment cleaning music. No need to focus on it but good enough to actually get stuff done quickly.
Love it when curveballs come across the plate... a definite shift in music.
To this day, one of the worst concerts I have ever been to. Not this one but Dylan in general.
The harmonics and tragic death make this an even greater homage.
Shirley Manson? No? This is Garbage's long lost techno twin.
Doses, just in doses. Really good
When it was released did not like it. Several years later re-listen and acknowledge greatness of this album
If you only had to purchase one Elton album... this one encapsulates his tremendous catalog. Save your money buy this.
This is long lost musical tradition.
Way back machine... If you want to hear what 80's pop is listen. This isn't a knock on the album, opposite this is extremely well done.
Always a shame that good solid bands from 'other' countries don't get a fair shake in countries they don't hail from. Solid song writing and composure.
Hit hard, hit fast, left fast. He will forever be why I hate club DJ's.
I wonder if this type of 'experimentation' with electronic sound is what groups in the '60s did with tape tracks? The looping, the stories of The Beatles drawing the tape around the room and passed through pencils and stuff to 'adjust' the sound...
If you are a Saturday Night Fever BeeGee - good luck. The earlier stuff is very much Folk and little falsetto this brings out the musicality of the brothers Gibb.
Awesome
Over 3 hours?Who could listen to all of this? How could anyone create that much? Bring me a bib! I am down for this buffet - best voice and best arranger... like a fine wine (or whatever your desire wants)
Lauren Hill an influence much?
The aura of the Chairman of the Board but darn it - he delivers.
The Soup Dragons were more popular.
Pleasantly surprised. Don't know why. Knew of the power. The energy just simply explodes. There is no wasted note within.
This was far from the genre of music I listened to at the time but as the years progressed I listened closer and now appreciate this work much more.
Not one thing out of place and the voice has not aged.
Kind of need to be in the mood for Meat Puppets.
I find it interesting that - to me - most British punk rock acts seem to be commercially made or created. They lack the earthy rawness
Sometimes LIVE is 'better' than studio. Tracks 'come alive' and this is prime example as well as Peter Frampton. The energy and direction that the band feeds off of creates an historic album.
Never could get past lead singer. Musicality is great, just move past singer.
Digging the videos for this.
In a time of dying disco and heavily produced rock... comes a sound that is basic and straight forward. Never truly appreciated this at the time but wow, this is rock and blues at its finest.
Not a heavy rotation but solid soulful melody and voice.
Not in the mood for this today.
Hit and miss, there are outstanding songs and songs that are too involved. They are best when just stripped down and straightforward.
at the time, I didn't like this album but I know it was the commercial success it attained. years later i came to appreciate the album as a whole.
Thank gawd for The Wrecking Crew
Basic blues progression... simple is good. Less is more.
Great first album and can hear some disco influences with a bit more cutting lyrics.
Quirky
It is amazing at how dated genres of music can get. Doesn't make music bad or great - it all depends on what age you were during that time. It has been said that your music taste is fully developed late high school early 20's... and if you were that age when this was released awesome!
Again, one listen and you can tell what decade this was released. Not my favorite decade as far as music is concerned but alright.
Interesting musicality.
Always enjoy the uniqueness of New Order
Frenetic and a giant push to PUNK and that doesn't mean it can't be good, popular, melodic... it's just good energy.
What ever happened?????
blues progression at its finest
Political Punk!?!
Not as good as Harvest Moon but still solid work.
Enjoy the jam. Back when music and songs went as long as the artist felt it should go.
Has my favorite Stones song on it. Wild Horses. Love this album
Have always enjoyed the complexity of the simplicity.
Concept album or whole album conveys a story... anyone under the age of 30 will never see this happen.
Love it then and now.
I prefer studio albums but some live albums are better than studio so take that for what it's worth....
Energy not matched with this group. Caught a bad rap with the one song...
Nice
Coworker overheard this and said, "It makes me want to drive a nail through my eye." Then I told him the group was Orbital.... coincidence? I think not.
Kind of depressing but... a little too much psychedelia for me in an album dose that is.
Always a big Siouxsie fan.
This is an enjoyable album easy to listen to and put together well.
The re-invention - I know it is trite but for lack of a better word - that this group goes through from album to album is amazing. It is hard to pin them down they are ever changing.
Could never get into this...
Smile on my face when I opened to this album. Thank God, finally some general angst and disgust!
Iconic album. Unfortunately this one seemed to pigeon-hole Prince and only true fans were able to witness and feel his genius.
I always forget how HARD they were. This is amazing.
Time warp. If you wish to know what mainstream hip hop was in early '90s then here you go....
Are we trying to recreate Songs in the Key of Life? Seems that is the formula for this group. Not to say it's bad but grow please.
Sometimes I feel that rating on one listen might not be fair to the artist. If I have never heard them then at first blush, it is difficult depending on my mood. This selection is prototypical... I am in the mood for upbeat/punk aggressive and this is not it. It is melodical and smooth. I will need to come back and re-listen.
Not sure if they are trying to be cute or what.
The longing embrace of techno pop is never more present than here.
Hi, I am trying to be a mellow Prodigy. Trying.
Like it. One of the suggested that actually paid off as in being good and well done.
Far ranging but very solid.
Sandy Denny's soulful voice blends well with the musicality of the players and makes this an easy listen.
Interesting. Good to listen to with a nice German beer in hand.
smooth transition into psychedelica and jazz and RandB
Never let a style, look, or jam trick you. Outstanding jam record and stands the test of time.
90s version of college rock. Sometimes trying to get the gritty 'low budget' sound you just slightly miss and this could be one case in point. Still Pavement had a few good tunes and shouldn't be swept off of .... the pavement.
Enjoy the ethereal sounds of Echo. The overlapping sounds and breathy singing really hit home.
I truly enjoy how The Specials were described early one. Reggae pop. I guess Ska hadn't been created yet. No Doubt, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Bosstones, Reel Big Fish wouldn't have come around if it weren't for The Specials and Madness. Late 70's they bring a fresh energy to the world of pop music. Thank you.
Dare I say better than IV, Symbols, whatever you want to call it?
I want to buy a riding lawn mower now...
Maybe not for everyone but if you listen close enough you will hear the rich layers that only he can produce.
Paul Rogers is awesome. Probably best voice of the generation. Solid!
Smooth voice that doesn't venture far from the 'sweet spot' and that is a sign of a good singer... not needing special post production help to smooth it out.
Of all the Disney kids, she is the voice. Her range and power was/is matched by no other from that era.
Nice sidebar to music of those times.
Fringe, best way to describe Eno and that is NOT a bad thing. His approach makes music fun. Today, it all sounds the same. That is why this era will always stand out.
Didn't think I would enjoy this as much as I did.
Awesome.
Not what they will become but you can hear the Syd Barrett influence.
Time gone by. The harmonies are flawless.
Never a dull moment with Herbie Hancock
enjoyable can see that groups like The Jayhawks drew a lot of inspiration from.
Really enjoyed this and could pick up on some influences.
Never been a dead head so I find it difficult to get into jam bands which is strange because I do like jazz and that's a true definition of jam band.
I do not like Morissey, never have never will. The Smiths would have been even bigger with a different condescending front man.
Still think they are overrated and the drummer stinks
Enjoy the contemplative nature of Wilco.
Skiffle at its best?
Time and place to listen to him. Enjoyable.
Good '80s style... would that be considered stripped down now? Back then it was all they could afford and wanted to feel the analog.
Too bad the Stones were such money grubbers and too bad The Verve didn't do it the right way... This album is awesome and the band should have been launched but crashed...
Not quite Hard Core Punk to me but definite edge to it.
Solid album of crafted pop rock. Can't deny the commercial success that this had but the overproduction gives rock a bad name.
Not really into techno.
I know there is a bit of editing in this album but long gone are the days of quick smooth transitions...
There's something here, they certainly have a specific vibe. Wish there was a little more depth in song writing.
eh...
Enjoyable all the way around.
I remember when this came out and thought, this is interesting. I wonder where will it go... and as far as midwest US - gone! Thinking most places just played Brim Full of Asha for the novelty too bad. Listen, really listen to the melody and you can find complexity within the simplicity.
And just like the intro... New York is the s*^t! File this under New York.
Enjoyable. They appear to want to find 'the one' and ride it in a more mellow sort of Funk and do it well.
Strong album but seemed to lack staying power.
You can tell that Peter Gabriel had a lot of influence on the group at the beginning and after he left the more commercial/pop came out. That's not a bad thing but definitely two different bands, a lot like the line up changes in Fleetwood Mac - you see and hear the influences.
Am amazed at how he can 'change' styles and it still feel comfortable for him. Didn't like him when he first came out but am now finding a place for him.
Kind of enjoyable. Used to like them back in the day and now they are alright.
About dang time. Finally seeing some good old fashioned punk music.
I think John just wanted to get away from the 'pop' of the Beatles and kind of free flowed his muse....
Blinding ray of light
A little too much 'techno' for me.
like the mellowness of the the tracks good for a night with friends.
It's about damn time! Saw these guys in college at a local bar and it was amazing. Still remember it from mid 80's... There are so many more bands like this that should replace a lot of the crap that has been listed. I'll take Fishbone any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
interesting and etherial not a bad listen.
Yes!
Not the best but still way ahead of its time.
Let's take a formula and refine it and polish it to perfection. Marty Robbins is a master and telling the 'old western' tale.
A few great songs amongst some mediocre recorded songs in BFE New York.
Were they Nirvana before Nirvana? Some say so but i disagree, they are their own entity and are truly better than Nirvana.
Enjoyed listening to something I haven't heard in a while.
Not too bad
I enjoy hearing demos and comparing them to what eventually is released but you can take it too far. I mean if the artist(s) wanted to release the 'demo' then why not?
Great listen on a cool summer night outside enjoying a beer or whatever beverage you just sip on for a while.
Sometimes he is pretentious and overbearing so I can only take it in small doses.
Not really my speed but I do see the merit in the style of music. It is executed well.
Seems to be forcing it a bit but...
Not my cup of tea. I can hear the expression just don't want to hear any of this.
A couple of outstanding tracks and you can tell the groove they were in. Is that good or bad? Up to you.
Proof that choosing the right sample is the key. Without The Clash's sample would we even have heard from M.I.A.? Not too sure about that.
Solid!
The joke song becomes the hit and the rest is solid but can see why a little levity/self sabotage can create something better.
Title song is alright - played way too much. Wish other songs would get more attention... give it a try.
True to country roots but also straight up stories being told with a melody and harmony to match.
The music is time stamped. There is a melody and tempo that is striking throughout the album.
I remember the 'buzz' around this group, then the collapse from the greater public eye. Not bad for '90s.
I don't buy the online buzz that this group is similar to Television, Buzzcocks, The Byrds... They may have been influenced by these groups but sound more like a precursor to Fine Young Cannbals.,
If you look for technicality, look to heavy metal. The technical ability is second to none. With that, sometimes you lose the emotion. Not sure if that's the case here.
Not a fan but they do have a vibe.
Not the power house but still very solid and an enjoyable listen.
This was a shock to a boy in the midwest. Stuff like this was hard to find and didn't find any air time on radio stations stuck in rock and roll motion. It took a while to understand and find the groove for me but it is full of energy and life.
Never really liked it growing up and glad I gave it another listen. This is a great album showcasing the diversity and creativity of the trio.
Frenetic pace is a nice change.
Enjoyable listen.
Wow!
A far off cry from their biggest hit and you can understand the one hit wonder...
Always loved PJ Harvey
became more polished but this raw attack is great.
The story telling and melody are lost on today's music.
Don't know what to think of this.... is he just trying to create an image? Is he embracing the 'thug life'? It is schtick and very superficial.
Cool throw back wish I could crawl in the mind at the time and what were they trying to do.
Never saw the attraction that 'everyone' else did.
Why? Why?
Prog Rock at its finest.
Always did not like this band don't ask me why... Maybe it was the lead singer trying to sabotage other acts when they received more applause. Just ask Kansas.
Enjoyable easy listening and not in that 70's category it's just a pleasurable listen.
If the only thing you see is Freak on a Leash... you will be a better person for it. Notice I said see... the song is awesome but when you can have a visual concept as well it can elevate both.
First confused her with someone else and was hovering over the button worried about what I was going to hear. Never been so glad to be confused in my life. This album is dirty, gritty, and a force.
Favorite album
Out of the chute strong and then solid.
Some really solid songs in this selection.
Singers haunting voice helps drive the 'hip' melody.
Locked into the timeline it was created. Good? Bad?
There's more to this than There She Goes. yes, that track is catchy and pop-y but listen to the rest and feel a little more depth.
Interesting
I miss the '70s. The experimentation and 'trippy-ness' of what artists did was amazing but it took The Exorcist to bring attention to this album and the new Virgin label. Maybe this site can expose more one-off artists through time?
I really enjoy the aethereal feel to this album and am glad to listen to it and maybe even a better person too.
Enjoyable and a giant throwback
If your main taste of the BeeGees is Saturday Night Fever soundtrack... be ready for a more lyrical and musical experience.
Dull hum of the reverb miss that in today's music but not this music.
Always love the slow groove.
AWESOME!
Have always liked Neil Young. Voice is not classically the best but the rawness of the melody makes it work well.
Oddfellows is the best song on this album IMO... the ability to make it sound so 'disregarding' is a trait unique to REM.
The raw emotion and energy of the entire album is infectious.
Brought the FUNK!
Blues
I feel sometimes a person's off stage life gets in the way of the performance... Here's one proof of that. Just play and sing, that's what you do best.
Interesting 'compilation' of songs but a bit too somber for me.
Long before SUV the lyrical gangster - I know it's not THE lyrical gangster but someone throwing 2 dollar words into rap music....
Nothing against Fiona but this list is crap. The second album by her on this list and still no Television, no X, very little attention to punk unless it is NYC based. That said, her voice and angst is warm and welcoming.
Well....
The exacting precision of the instruments and voice make the slightest nuance amazing.
The free flow of the songs is truly genius. The closest to Latin Jazz? Not sure about that but the musicians playing off each other is a trademark of Santana and a must listen to anyone who says they listen to all types of music.
Plain cool listen.
Dated but still solid and darn good.
In high school when this came out and damn, it was packed and good. Years later, I was able to talk to Phil Collen and I know he wasn't there from the beginning but the thoughtfulness reinforced the straightforward power of the music.
Very enjoyable smooth listen.
Space Truckin'
The band's sound was developed well before the hair and pasty look of Robert Smith and this is most certainly a band that you either get or you don't - seems to be no inbetween. It took a while for me to see into the noise.
Amazing voice and composition. Saw him a few years ago for the first time, others who had seen him before said his voice is not what it was but it doesn't matter. The feeling behind every note is still resonating.
Sometimes there’s something amidst the chaos.
Enjoyable
Very aggressive
Never really understood the amazement with this guy. His stuff is good and fit the time but didn't seem to break any ground to my ear.
You can hear the Bowie influence and it adds to the chaos.
Talk about a crash to the establishment... brought back rock to an overproduced pop world.
Powerfull voice and a bit irreverent. Also, likes to have fun.
Really enjoyed the overdubbing and distortion.
Interesting and poppy
I have always enjoyed Arcade Fire and would like to hear more from them.
Pre Muscle Shoals but you can tell they are on their way to southern Alabama...
I enjoy Beck's approach on all albums. He seems to find a common thread and slowly pulls on it - to borrow a phrase from Weezer - 'to destroy the sweater' of the music.
Never been a Lou Reed fan but can hear the Jazz influences and there are a couple songs that are kind of cool.
Really need a rating for this? Come on, anything with the name Temptations deserves nothing less than a...
There is much more than Do You Feel on this album and with a much different vibe.
The ballad intensity of this album makes it worth every penny.
I liked the earlier stuff better but not too bad.
1970s with a girl... hard to screw that up.
Eh...
Enjoyed the smoothness.
Screw David Crosby and his diss of the punk genre. There were some bands that didn't have it but this one did too bad it was short lived.
There are much better albums but this is commercially sent The Boss through the roof. Glad he still maintained the three hour concert and wish more people would listen to the stories and not think 'hey upbeat song it's pro US'
When does a spit benefit both sides? Right here. Peter Gabriel was able to do his thing and rightfully so with this album.
Hard to believe Stevie Windwood was an early teen and had such a soulful voice.
