an album that i'm not into that apparently inspired many other artists that i'm also not into
Shane MacGowan looked and sang like a goblin. Is it actually possible to not like this album?
One of the most effective DEA recruitment pitches ever made.
Three great singles and a neat The Cure cover. 3.5/5.
Interesting experience. This is the kind of weird shit eclectic shit I expected there to be more of on this list. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I'll ever listen to it again.
Even a few duds (like Yellow Submarine) this is a rock solid 5/5.
I can't listen to Randy Newman without thinking about the Mad TV sketch.

Great singles, but the rest of the album isn't particularly great.
I was surprised to see this album on a list like this. I liked it when it came out, and I still enjoy it.
Perfect album by one of the greatest artists in the history of pop and rock music.
I'd rate this higher if they didn't play the same song 18 times.
I've always liked this album, but it sounds a little more corny than I remembered. Still good, though.
The king of all, Sir Duke.
Even better than OK Computer.
I have fond memories of listening to this album on a boombox around campfire at a festival.
I think Arcade Fire's reputation has suffered in recent years, but their first two albums are still classics and seeing them play Intervention live is still a strong memory for me. I don't think this album belongs on this list, but I still like it.
This is the first 5 I've given out to an album that I wasn't already familiar with. This is awesome.
Amazing album, full of legendary moments. The Legacy Edition is even better.
Absolutely awesome album. I'd give it a 6/5 if I could.
3 stars solely for the PJ Harvey and Kylie Minogue tracks.
I refuse to give this album 5 stars.
One of my mom's favorite albums.
The best Radiohead tribute band. 3.5/5.
I've been reliably informed that the boys are back in town.
One and a half thumbs down.
I can't bring myself to not give this 5 stars.
There's some real magic on this album, but some of the covers (Personal Jesus) come off as a little gimmicky.
Boring compared to The Smiths and The Queen is Dead.
I'm sure I'll be the only person to give this a positive review but I remember listening to this as an angsty teenager, and I can remember a time before Hallelujah was an overplayed joke song. I can't not give it 5 stars. I'm sorry.
Not quite peak Dylan, but close.
One of the greatest albums of the late 80s. I'd give it a 6/5 if I could.
What is there really to say about this album. Some of the best vocal performances in rock history.
Check out the Legacy Edition, it has the San Quentin concerts in full. Pretty magical stuff.
Totally incoherent mix of random songs. This album has Blackbird, but also Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. This album has The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill, but also While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Not in my top 5 Beatles albums. 5/5.
Not my favorite Joni Mitchell album, but I do love it. Not as good as Blue, but then not many albums are.
Not as good as the other Dusty Springfield album on the list.
Solid, not as good as the better Massive Attack albums though.
Amazing vocals, not that into the songwriting though.
I have an embarrassing amount of good feelings about this album.
Lucinda Williams my beloved
As much as I love The Beatles, I can't give this a 5/5.
Most of the songs on this album have aged really poorly, but the lead single is still a banger.
Wish You Were Here is both an absolutely incredible album and title track. Just an incredibly cohesive album.
FREEEEE BIRD
I can't listen to Skynyrd without thinking about the Accidental Racist song where LL Cool J shouts out Robert E. Lee.
Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine.
I have zero nostalgia for this.
I'd probably give this a higher score if I had heard about it when I was in high school.
Weird, uneven and beautiful.
The Neon Bible tour was fun. I'm probably rating this higher than it deserves.
One of the most overrated bands of all time.
Sometimes I'm embarrassed by how much I love this album and Paul Simon in general. Bridge Over Troubled Water is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
I like this less than I did when it came out.
I'm a big Beatles freak but I don't love this album for reasons I can't put my finger on.
CCR has a handful of good singles and only one of them is on this album.
Some good tracks, some average ones, some very skippable ones. I still don't really like Mick Jagger's singing.
I saw Faith No More live at a festival during their reunion tour in 2009 and it was a really great show, but I can't really get into any of their albums.
I think this might be the best album ever made? I know it's at the top of all kinds of lists, but it really is that good. Go Your Own Way? The Chain? Songbird? Gold Dust Woman? Silver Springs (I'll always consider it a full-on Rumours track)?? Dreams???? Pure genius. With how messed up things were behind the scenes, it's almost incomprehensible that this even exists.
Not my favorite of the pre-woke era Beatles albums.
I'm sorry but I love this. Forgive me.
One of the best ex-Beatles albums.
I'm rating this higher than I should because I like weird English bands with vocalists that can't sing.
I would die for Fiona Apple.
Making fun of Brandon Flowers' lyrics ("I've got ham, but I'm not a hamster") is beating a dead horse by now, but the profound stupidity fills me with hope. AI could never write "Are we human / Or are we dancer?" or "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier". Humanity still has a chance.
I'd give this a 2 but I can respect the level of craft on display.
It just doesn't do anything for me.
I like Emmylou Harris a lot, but she has much stronger albums than this.
I just can't handle unfiltered Morrissey.
There's some pretty decent singing on this album.
Sultans of Swing carries this album.
The ultimate sellout album by the ultimate sellout band. It rules.
This is probably the worst Radiohead album that I'd still rate a 5.
Back in the 2000s you could make a classic indie album by not being able to sing and writing sad lyrics.
I took an online quiz once that was supposed to reveal my darkest secret. The result I got was: "You like Rush". I guess I do.
I don't like this as much as their other collaboration, but I'll give a 5 to anything David Byrne is involved in.
I went into this album with an open mind, but I got so much second hand embarrassment from the cover of Roll of Beethoven that I can only rate this a 1.
I'd probably love this album if I was more into reggae.
I mean, come on. This isn't actually good music.
As a post-Beatles McCartney apologist, this is an album I've always been mixed on. There are some really good songs on it. Maybe I'm Amazed is one of the best songs he's written since the Beatles broke up. But, for all its forward looking lofi vibe, I don't like it as much as others in his catalogue.
Worth the 5 just for A Day in the Life (original opinion, do not steal).
I don't actually like this album, but I respect it enough to give it a 4.
Tom Waits makes music for cool and hip people, like me.
I'm not cool enough to give this a 5 sadly.
