Reviews (page 13 of 13)

I didn't like this. I wanted it to stop. I know its cool to not like Queen so I was trying hard to like it but I basically just like the hits.

Never really listened to them besides hearing hits. Expected to enjoy this more.

Well the first two tracks are decent, and sound like they're made by two different bands. Half of Brighton Rock is just so-so but I'm not immune to a good solo and it definitely picks up. Whereas on the flip side of this equation, Flick of the Wrist is barely a song, just a load of riffs and vocal harmonies that bear no relationship to one another. Now I'm Here is basically The Darkness and similar to them, there's not much of a tune there behind the bravado. I'm still waiting for a decent song after Killer Queen. In the Lap of the Gods is presaging the wanky toss they did too much of on Night of the Opera. Larry Brown is simply very annoying. Well I got to the end of the record and there wasn't another good song after Killer Queen.

Two decent songs and a lot of old shit.

A couple of good moments but mostly nonsense

A pack of art school wankers who make music exclusively for children’s birthday parties. Queen have always absolutely sucked 👍🏻

I’m going to admit something relatively embarrassing here, the song “Killer Queen” is one that I actually like quite a lot. I’m not entirely sure why, given that I can hardly stand any of the other music that they released. That song is certainly the only redeeming quality in an album filled otherwise entirely with boring slop. There’s a few attempts to branch out into different genres, but it falls completely flat for me. I really hope I don’t have to listen to anymore queen. 2* but only because “Killer Queen” is good.

This is like theater kid catnip. If that’s your thing, you do you, but it’s a respectful no thank you for me. Would give 2.5 ⭐️ if I could because there are some interesting arrangements and the talent of the musicians is showcased pretty well. But based on how much I don’t ever really want to listen to this again I gotta round down.

Never been one much for Queen. I respect other people's love for them, but it's not really something I'm seeking out. Some compelling guitar shredding on this one elevates it to a 2 for me, but otherwise a generally forgettable/milquetoast glam rock experience.

Not their best album honestly, 1 or 2 good songs but yeah it's not amazing

I can't say I'm a huge Queen fan. 1 or 2 songs weren't bad.

I.... didn't really find this fun to listen to at all? It was just loud. But didn't hit me anywhere in any feels. The songs felt like a slog. Not really what I was expecting.

it’s not bad, maybe it’s just not my thing but i feel like this album could’ve been better. like the transition between the songs just felt so out of place and unnatural. album wasn’t horrible but it felt like it was all over the place

Disappointing stuff really.

This rock opera shit is not for me

got some nice melodies and vibes, but there's a reason killer queen is the most popular song off this album

Not really any big standout songs for me other than Killer Queen.

The mid point of this album was so bad, I barely made it to the end, the first few and last track saved it from a 1 star.

The singer really ruins this.

Yeah, I’m accepting the fact that I just don’t like Queen that much. This album is fine to me, it’s just… too much going on. By reading reviews, this one seems pretty popular, but man, I just don’t get it. Their songs just sound like a fever dream. Idk. I enjoyed this album more when I was able to just kinda have it on in the big ground and tune out all the chaos a bit, but it still just isn’t my cup of tea. I kinda liked Lap of the Gods 1 and 2, and Now I’m Here was fine. I’m ready for a new album.

I don't get all the adulation for Queen. I think the maximalist, theatrical delivery rubs me the wrong way -- I can't connect with it emotionally at all. I think the cliché that Queen is the quintessential Greatest Hits band is right, no Queen song that I haven't heard ambiently a million times sticks in my head.

Meh. The vocals are great, and Killer Queen is a classic, but the overall sound on this album is not for me. 2.4

Great musicianship. But I didn't enjoy it all that much.

I’ve listened to my fair share of Queen’s music over the years (mostly ‘greatest hits’ type material), and this will be my second album of theirs to review, after A Night At The Opera (4 stars). I was a little underwhelmed by ANATO, so I’m curious as to how I’ll feel about this album. This album was pretty meh to me. There were some great vocals and some good guitar playing, but overall, this album felt pretty dull and uninspired. This blend of hard rock and glam rock doesn’t feel particularly novel to me, and while the arrangements might be interesting in small spurts, overall, I couldn’t find much on this album to latch on to. “Killer Queen” and “Flick of the Wrist” were the two best tracks to me on this album, but they’re not in the upper echelon of seventies rock in my opinion. This was a letdown, but maybe Queen II will be more my speed.

My 2 stars is for Killer Queen alone and bc I’d feel like a jerk giving a 1 when so many people seem to love this.

Songs i knew: 1 Songs i liked: 2 and a bit Good start, ended badly. Got me through sweeping leaves at least. Better than S&g BOTW.

Not a fan. There are some great, straightforward rock tracks on it - Now I’m Here, Stone Cold Crazy, but a lot of the rest is filler and absurdities.

killer queen is of course a banger. there were some other songs too, i think

Not that keen on Queen's first few albums. Killer queen is great, but the rest feels like it is still being worked on.

Cool, würde aber nicht nochmal hören

Im a bit of an outlier in that I’m lukewarm on Queen at the best of times, but I don’t think this was their best work. Rating: 2

i guess you had to be there

Brighton Rock Killer Queen Now I'm Here

Good Queen is really good. Not good Queen is really bad.

Rock, 1974 ->2

D tier 4/10

By itself, an album that stands on the merits, of maybe 3-4 songs, most of which use the charm of the shoddier production quality to their advantage. The rest of the songs other than–'Killer Queen', 'Flick of the Wrist', 'In the Lap of the Gods', and 'Bring Back Leroy Brown'– leave much to be desired. For an album touted to be one amongst the 1001 albums to listen to before you die, it doesn't have much offer in terms of memorability, offering a few stand-outs, that wash over the rest.

Queen always sounds like a flamboyant chubby man putting on a puppet show to a crowd of three. Nevertheless, there are some classics on this album.

Oh my ... what was that? Other than Killer Queen this is totally forgettable - for me. I see it gets many 5s, but are they just giving 5s because it's Queen? I can see how this album is a stepping stone for their incredible sound, but I'm just glad they survived after putting this out!

At their best Queen can be incredible. I can also find them incredibly annoying. This hovers in the bottom half of that quadrant. I do like Killer Queen, though.

Man I used to love Queen. Dude can still sing though.

The talent is undeniable. But 99% of it is just not my style

I really like Killer Queen, but there’s not much else on the album that appeals to me. I think I’d like them more if Brian May didn’t have jerk off his guitar solos every time and Mercury didn’t insist on doing the same with his vocals, but being way over the top operatic is what makes them who they are I guess.

Not my thing but surprisingly interesting.

Not my cup of tea

Interesting to hear them finding their way before their later stuff. I like Killer Queen

On the whole, not my favorite Queen album.

Liked a couple songs but unfortunately not really my thing!

Only one recognizable song - others were blah

Its queen, you cant escape them. Like all their albums a few athemic hits andbthen blah de blah blah. I really liked them when i was 10!

Nej tack. She makes me är skivans bästa låt. Annars är det inget vidare.

One or two good songs.

I think I'm starting to accept the fact that I just don't like Queen. Too theatrical and too purposeful. Sure, each and every one of them are amazing musicians, but the result just doesn't work for me.

Every member of Queen comes in to each album bringing one thing to the table, and it's always the same formula Mercury: I have written a jaunty gay operetta in which I briefly allow myself to get angry. May: I have written four academic papers on quantum mechanics and those in turn have inspired me to write three blistering riffs and one strange, sad ballad. Taylor: I have written a song about my new girlfriend, an Aston Martin V8. Deacon: I remembered my bass this time!

I think I'm just more of a Queen's Greatest Hits type of person. I don't need the deep cuts.

Let's be real here, if this didn't have b(r)and recognition, it would be at like a 2.97/5 global rating. It's just really average 70s rock. Saying "Queen is a singles band" feels like saying "Water is wet" at this point. Wake me up when Queen release their own signature album - y'know, their own "Dark Side of the Moon" or "Sgt Pepper". Oh, the lad is dead? Well, guess I'm gonna be sleeping for a REALLY long time then. Fuck the world, I eat cheese strips 🖕🖕🖕

Like the Beatles, Queen suffers from typically being listened to in greatest hits form. Besides Killer Queen, nothing really stood out as above average 1970s rock.

Not a Queen album I’m too familiar with, and there were some good tracks, but ultimately I found this a bit meh.

Alright… quite The Who-y with some emotional depth but didn’t do much surprising apart from that. I’m sure they’ll have another better album here.

Talented theatre kids are still theatre kids.

Nah, this ain't my cuppa.

Another Queen album. I swear this has to be the 4th album of theirs I've got. I don't know I mean it was okay. Id give it 2.5 but I can't do that so 2 stars it is.

Killer Queen Stone Cold Crazy

We all must begin somewhere in our careers. Not sure this album predicted what was to come.

I get why this is here, if it’s when they started to sound like Queen. But a lot of it runs together for me. Definitely some 70s glam rock / metal in there. Killer Queen shoes what they were capable of. But they weren’t quite there on most of this one. 2.50

Queen as a band is less than the sum of it's members. Gotta be one of the most over-rated bands. 1.69

It’s tough to rate these with a modern point of view. This is still an enjoyable record to listen to, but like many others on this list, its influence and cultural significance is important and maybe overshadows the listening experience. There are definitely some cool songs in here, and it was groundbreaking, I’m sure, but just not that enjoyable to listen to today, for the most part. I was really surprised to hear Brian May sound a bit like Jimmy Page in a few of these tunes!

Didn't have the grandeur or immediacy of Queens best tracks for mine and I wound up tuning out a lot of these scratchy glam rock tunes. Two and a half. Fave track: Killer Queen

Some fine songs, but I don’t think anything that are near my favourite tracks from the band. Two and a half. Fave track: Killer Queen

2.5 Eh, not really the biggest queen fan

Love Queen but wasn't crazy about it and am disappointed in that.

Not really my thing. Queen has been with me my entire life my parents listened to them often in the car and in the house. But none of this is interesting or new to me and the aesthetics of it haven't really aged that well to me.

I respect queen a lot, but for me so much of their music is in one ear and out the other.

Very Queen. Didn’t find it overly enjoyable, appreciate the Ballads struggle with the soft rock tracks.

Not my type, Queen is hit or miss for me

I enjoyed Brian May’s guitar on Brighton. Rock rolled over into Killer Queen. That’s where it kind of fizzled out for me. It is a very big, polished sound, but certainly not my favorite queen album.

1974....3rd album with the hit Killer Queen. Incredible vocals, amazing guitar, but not much music here to love. Unique sound, very theatrical.

Oh no, Queen. They are ok in very small doses. I knew 1 song, that's because I'm not a fan. I guess this was the build up to their operatic rock sound which evetually led to B Rhapsody, so very groundbreaking for hard rock at the time. Interesting, but gets a low 2.

The glam rock songs on this album are brilliant, the best example of campy glam rock. The slower songs are a bit lack luster. My least favourite thing about Queen is they try to do the Beatles thing and let every member contribute lead vocals, just leave it to Freddie! This kicks off like a classic album and then the drummer has a song which kills the momentum. Some killer, some filler.

Not as bad as I feared from Queen. I think the only Queen albums people genuinely love are their compilations. They have released so much music and a lot of it is pretty dull really.

Eldist ekki vel.

Never been a huge Queen fan… I remember my parents liked them and accordingly when I was about 12 I thought ‘One Vision’ was the pinnacle of guitar rock 🤦🏻‍♂️ This album did very little for me, but I will say ‘Now I’m Here’ is an absolute belter and if Led Zeppelin wrote it we’d be giving it 🐐 status!

I’m glad they found their sound. 2/5

Ekkert sérstaklega hrifinn ....

"killer queen" is still a pretty good single but overall not really all that interesting. queen isn't much of an albums band and more of a singles band, i think. they have some really good singles though, gotta give them that

dont like

I wrote the review for this days ago but didn’t save it. TBH I’m not a massive Queen fan and I wouldn’t really care if I didn’t hear this album again. It was a meh for me but wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it again. 2/5

Probably my least favourite album of Queen. One commercial track and the rest was theatrical expression and trademark Queen long intros.... and Brian May expressing every form of guitar style in his repertoire. It's not a bad album, it's just nothing memorable that would draw you to select it to play as an album, just a couple of tracks on it, that's it.

not really my vibe, dont love the ballads, songs dragged on too long

2 Love the classic sound but could not get into this album except for the hits.

Strong start but wanes at the end

Partly heard before Saved 5/13 Top track: Killer Queen

Ok... So that really wasn't that great. There are very good moments sprinkled about this LP, but generally I was left underwhelmed. The vibes were all over the place, most of the good tunes barely exceed a minute in length and aren't given much chance to evolve but the ones that are longer overstay their welcome with repetitiveness. Sheer Heart Attack is missing that coherence that I know Queen for. Maybe I'm just spoiled by albums like A Night at the Opera, but the mastering on this one seemed really lacking in fidelity, and the stereophonic tricks where generally just annoying. All that being said, it's still Queen. The performances are top notch. Especially the opening track, which is killer. 2/5 Favorites: Brighton Rock, Misfire Least Favorite: Bring Back that Leroy Brown

Didn't hit at all for me

Unequivocally singular. Peculiarly unmemorable. Just because you can hit every note there is, doesn't mean you have to. One flick of the wrist for the guitar work. One more for the steamy album cover, sugar. 🤚🤚

I don’t like it very much. killer queen is good 2

Didn't think this was that good given I really like queen

okay, its got 'now im here on it', which i know from live at wembley, confirming further my idea that the only queen album worth having (at least on this list), is live at wembley

I don’t get the hype.

Nothing really stood out. Suppose I'm not much of a Queen fan

Queen was always a singles band to me. Their albums were never consistent but their singles were really strong.

Apart from 'Killer Queen' which is a great song, this album just didn't cut it in my opinion. As mentioned before, Queen is not really my cup of tea to begin with, but that is usually weighed up by really good songs. Didn't really find any of that here unfortunately. The surprise of hearing some Queen metal did give it some extra points though, did definitely not see that coming!

Queen being Queen

Sheer Heart Attack

How much party drugs do I need to do to enjoy this album? It seems like a lot of party drugs went into making it.

Queen makes bad albums

Overhyped band

Starting to think some real hipster bozo made this list, everytime its an album by a band/artist who clearly have endless bangers, the album they provide is some off key crapper with zero known songs. That being said, it wasn’t bad, but meh.

Noped out at Flick of the Wrist. It's just not for me.

Approached it with skepticism, I don’t like the Queen… still don’t get why this should be so relevant, it’s a pastiche of glam, hard rock and baroque pop melodies… so I just give it 2 stars honestly but maybe it’s because I just don’t get it…

A brilliant and talented band that very rarely makes any songs I like. You can hear very clearly in this album that their showboating, free-wheeling arrangements are nothing new, and they had been doing this thing for quite some time before Bohemian Rhapsody et al. Killer queen is a song where that kind of energy works brilliantly. Something about it focuses in just the right way, with just the right elements, that it’s infectious. It just works. The rest of the album— with a couple exceptions— just doesn’t work for me. The pacing is too frenetic, there’s a lot of quick switch-ups, effects, guitar solos, but behind some fairly lackluster writing. “Bring Back That Leroy Brown” perfectly illustrates this. There’s barely two bars strung together before an insert, effect, banjo strum, bgv, guitar solo, harpsichord solo, etc. Can you imagine recording that live to tape? The musicianship necessary is next level. But it makes me feel nothing except mild anxiety, and some annoyance. I get that it’s the style, it’s this dinner theater style! But it tires my poor ears. And for what? For an okay song. That’s this album for me.

I thought I would like it more. Killer Queen was the only one I both knew and liked

I am NOT a fan of Queen and this album which I had never heard (well accept for Killer Queen) does nothing to change my opinion. I just think that their forays into campy styles and other explorations just sound pretentious and amateurish. Not my cup of tea. 2 stars

I was not looking forward to this. Entire Queen albums generally aren’t my vibe. Then “Brighton Rock” and “Killer Queen” opened up the record - and for a moment I thought to myself: “Huh, I really underestimated Shear Heart Attack!” Spoiler: I didn’t. Most songs from here on feel half finished and Side B is especially horrendous with only Stone Cold Crazy at least trying to do something. “Dear Friends” is plain boring, “Bring Back That Leroy Brown” sounds like a parody and everything finally collapses with the May-led mess, “She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stilettos)”. The production is killer and the vocal harmonies and exceptional understanding of mixing these are par excellent. Enough in itself to deserve at least a couple of stars.

Queen are a band that I liked more going into this process than I do 300 odd records in (of which I think 2 have been Queen?). I'm getting a similar feel to Bowie - I love a lot of the individual tracks, but there's a lot of dross on the albums. Unlike Bowie, I'm not convinced that I'll like this more with repeated listens. Sheer Heart Attack is a really disjointed record, the transitions between songs are so stark, the pacing is completely varied, it's mad. I love Killer Queen - Queen do big, melodramatic, and either super emotional or (more often) OTT camp glam very well. When they stray from that, they don't offer an awful lot. The more I listen to their albums, the more I feel like they wasted Freddie's incredible talent for showmanship. 2/5 for this, Killer Queen almost drags it up to a 3 but can't quite manage it.

I'm not a huge fan of Queen though I do like some stuff. This album wasn't bad in any way but sounded a bit generic to me. Maybe it just didn't age interestingly. I don't think I'd ever really seek it out again.

Not their best. Felt exhausting to listen to.

Speed metal meets Gilbert and Sullivan.

Too many of those songs are gratuitously meandering. In other words, they're a little self-indulgent, either because of the guitars or the vocals. And yes, I'm including "Killer Queen" here. Sure, you can't deny how inventive the music is, it never stays in one place for long. But "inventive" doesn't necessarily mean "interesting" or "well-thought out". And you can't also deny the reason why Queen's later hits were more effective and direct than any tune on this record, as cheesy as some of those later hits were. It has to do with one little thing: good, catchy choruses. They're conspicuously absent on this particular LP, and without them, the whole thing doesn't hold water, really. Apart from one or two exceptions, maybe, this band was a singles band anyway (as well as a killer live act). There was a good reason rock critics panned all their albums. Sometimes it's the audience who get it right, and the critics who get it all wrong. But I think that here, for once, it's the opposite. Queen can be both boring AND irritating in the long run, which is hard to pull off, in a way. Many people felt it at the time, and all nostalgia aside, a lot of people are still feeling it today. Number of albums left to review or just listen to:  more than 800, I've temporarily lost count here Number of albums from the list I find relevant enough to be mandatory listens:  approximately a half so far  Albums from the list I *might* include in mine later on: a quarter Albums from the list I will certainly *not* include in mine (many others are more important): the last quarter (including this one)

Imma just go ahead and say it, Queen for all of their gifts and habilities could not make one consistent album. I love Killer queen tho.

I just don't like Queen, they grate on me. I appreciate the talent, I admire Freddie's chutzpah and attitude, but I just can't stand the music

Some times the guitar sounds amazing, some of the vocals are fantastic however, most of the songs on this album are pretty are poor. Greatest Hits autoplayed after this album and made me realize how much better their song writing could be.

There are parts I like, but in general i just don't care for this band.

Not my thing. I like Killer Queen but the rest felt like filler.

overblown pomp as usual - just don't feel them. 2

She’s a killer! Is a fav of mine. Didn’t know the rest cut definitely hear their future style coming out through this album. Can’t wait for more 👸🏻 albums

Not a huge fan of Queen fan to begin with but turns out that I like the hardrock-y early Queen even less than the Queen I know from the radio/tv/greatest hits albums. 5/10

ehh, the hits are great and the rest very meh. Really wish it had more character sonically.

Queen!

While I generally think that, theatrics aside, Queen's music is overrated, I do acknowledge they have some pretty good material (though rarely pretty good albums). This one, though, is all theatrics.

Queen halt , paar banger, paar filler

It felt unstructured, a load of ideas thrown together but nothing compelling.

Inimitable vocals from the stellar front man but the songs just don't really do anything for me. Best song: Killer Queen.

not King

Queen just doesn't do it for me

Not good :(

I think with Queen you need to focus on the hits. Not overly keen on this.

Very underwhelming when compared to other albums from this group...

I expected worse. Far less of the annoying stuff on the Opera album. A big drop off in the 2nd half however

Buenos recuerdos

Ok. No really popular songs.

However great they became, this is mostly horrific to modern ears

Shit 1

Please kill me

Nej, jag orkar inte ens lyssna. Men jag vet att det är dåligt.

Nej tack!

Musikalrock undanbedes.

QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LATIFAH I´m excited, never heard an album from them have more than 11 songs!!! Amusement park in Brighton, i love this type of ritmic. Freddie´s voice is soooooo good on this and........BRAIN SLIPT. The vocals are SHIVERING and have a long guitar riff. Jenny didn´t knew about Jimmy´s lady? minute 1:8 to 1:27 É POESIA ACÚSTICA. 7 de 10 Killer Queen is a smash. 6.5 de 10 A whole new vibe, for the album, with Tenement Funster. Have nice riffs and i liked some phrases. Have brain split as well(panning). 6.8 de 10 A TRANSIÇÃO FOI TÃO SUAVE QUE EU NEM NOTEI Flick of the wrist intro remind me of Rebelde way. A very 80s song(which makes this innovative). Nice riffs(Heavy Inês) and a lyric that’s interesting(they really like telling stories). 9.2 de 10 A SMOOTH TRANSITION AGAIN!!!!!! Lily of The Valley is a calm, but powerful song. A doubtful person. I like the sound and vocal. 6.2 out of 10 BRAIN SPLIT on Now I’m Here. Nice riffs, very rockfish. I can think of Jesus on this one. The fading. 7.5 de 10 Hard punk on Stone Cold crazy. Didn’t heard this whole btw. Very rockfish Dear friend is nice, a lullaby. 8 de 10 Guitar!!!! Misfire is good song, but my mind is too dirty, I can think of Christ tho. 8 de 10 Leroy is a bad guy. Cuphead vibes. A fresh in the darkness(but the singer wants to Killy him). 6 de 10 A nice ending with She makes me so. It’s different from the others, like Misfire. But why the sirens?

The only song on this album I like is “Killer Queen” - the rest - No thanks

Theatrical and ridiculous.

Hideous.

I never expected anything on this list to piss me off. I have no place to say anything because I turned it off for nettspend, but this album is not engaging at all. people basically only listen to killer queen and then the rest is nothing burger

This is too serious to even joke about.

Simply not my style. I’m surprised people didn’t know Freddie was not straight before his diagnosis, he called Leroy Brown a cutie pie. Which was cute. I have no hate for this band, just not a Queen fan even though they have a few major hits

- My heart sank when I saw another Queen album today. I just can't get into their over the top theatrics. - We get it... you like to noodle/shred on your guitar & sing vibrato/falsetto. Yes, it's proficient, but it leaves me cold/irritated and doesn't hold my interest. - Also, none of the lyrics feel authentic or vulnerable, and they get lost in the instrumentation. - Killer Queen is the best tune on here by far, but even it suffers from the above. - Queen would probably be fun to see live or as a soundtrack to some theatre piece, but this album feels overwrought, bombastic, and annoying. - Everything about In the Lap of the Gods and Bring Back That Leroy Brown aggravates me. - I'm probably going to give this album a 1 despite them being proficient musicians. I just don't like it or ever want to listen to it again - it's such a long 40 minutes. Plus, there's that sweaty cover to get past.

Can’t stand Queen, next.

Multiple Queen albums here when the Greatest Hits is all you need - and even that has some horrible novelty songs on it.

Putain Queen... Très long. On va me parler de "Stone Cold Crazy", bien sûr. Au Muppet Show ? We Are The Champions", pitié...). Gene Clark sort "No Other". Neil Young sort "On the Beach".

There is only one really good song on this album, Killer Queen. Many of the songs are skips, meaning I could not listen to the entire song.

An overblown, pretentious, pompous, annoying, overrated turd of an album which goes on and on and on. And on. Wankstains on the silky sheet of classic rock.

Very silly melodramatic nonsense. Not really to be taken seriously. If you are taken by this tripe then its amazing. For my ears I would rather listen to polystyrene being broken

Didn’t like

Pompous tosh. Mock rock.

Queen are the most overrated band that has ever played.

Didn't like it.

All of the annoying parts of prog, glam pop, and hard rock melded together into a seamless half hour of irritating, bloated, pompous arena rock from the most overrated band of all time. The guitar tone is the only good bit and he doesn't even do anything especially interesting with it except the harmonized lead on Misfire - otherwise its just boring shredding and medium riffs that're always quickly subsumed by a new movement in the song from a bassoon or a choir or something else borrowed from classical music that for some reason is impressive to simpletons. Everything about it is showy but vacuous. At least they aren't singing about wizards and trolls anymore.

1 star

Awful. High pitched singing. Same piano chords and safe guitar

Bring Back That Leroy Brown is een soort Sesamstraat nummertje. In the Lap of the Gods. Gedver. Ergenis. Queen is overrated. 4,5/10

Refused to listen. Fucking HATE this band.

I like Queen but this album felt like a theatre kid group made some songs. Brighton Rock, killer queen, Stone Cold Crazy were the stand outs - the rest had me wanting to skip, which I did.

Couple of bangers overwhelmingly outnumbered by a lot of absolutely waffle. Brian May was wasted on them. High points: Brighton Rock Now I'm Here Brian May's Guitar tone Low points: Everything else Roger Taylor singing Whatever the fuck Bring Back That Leroy Brown is meant to be

Look, Queen is legendary, but Sheer Heart Attack feels like the weird fever dream where Freddie Mercury said, “Let’s throw every genre into a pot and see what happens.” It’s campy, chaotic, and utterly unapologetic, but also so all over the place it’s like Queen couldn’t decide whether they wanted to be rock gods or the soundtrack to a space-themed circus. It’s fun at times, but mostly feels like they’re assaulting you with guitar solos, operatic screams, and lyrics that sound like they were written during a costume change. Classic, yes, but classic like the bizarre sweater your grandma insists is “vintage.”

Fuck. No. Some of the most overrated, tedious and moronic music ever created.

Meh other than 1 song. 1/5

no thanks

Nothing special, not really my type of music. I would need to be in a specific mood to listen to this again.

Kysymys kuuluukin: olisivatko he pystyneet parempaan?

I love queen, but although they made a lot of really great songs, they also made a lot more not great ones. I have never thought that Queen makes good Albums, and Sheer Heart Attack did not change my opinion. 1
