Reviews (page 4 of 13)

I can see it now- a whole generations of dads banished to the garage or the shed, cracking a bud heavy and lecturing to anyone who will listen about the good ole days and how music used to really rock and referencing this album in particular. And you know what? I think they might have a point. This album is a slapper. Every song was different and took you on a journey and had a distinct feel. Cheers to the dad rockers out there, keep fighting the good fight and annoying the shit out of your kids.

Perfect and distinctive.

1. Baba O’Riley 10/10 2. Bargain 7/10 3. Love Ain’t for Keeping 7/10 4. My Wife 8/10 5. The Song Is Over 10/10 6. Getting In Tune 9/10 7. Going Mobile 6/10 8. Behind Blue Eyes 10/10 9. Won’t Get Fooled Again 10/10

Baba Oriley är en solklar femma. Klassiker. Så jävla bra! Dock aldrig lyssnat på detta album. Ska bli intressant! Förstår egentligen inte varför jag inte lyssnat mer på the who. Lyssnat lite, men borde ha lyssnat mer. Diggar det som fan. Musikaliskt, rytm, bra sång. Inte bara "samma". Det har det lilla extra. Slingor, avstick . Bra skit. Det är en ljudvägg som en vacker tavla. Den enda "dåliga" låten är "the song is over". Men då är allt annat svinbra. Femma! Boom! (Betyg avser originalalbum)

Att Baba O’Riley är ett mästerverk och att Behind blue eyes är svinbra visste jag sedan innan, men den här var genomgående riktigt jäkla bra i övrigt också. Känns genant att inte ha lyssnat på hela albumet tidigare.

The epitome of a perfect album

Already listened to it before this challenge! Its a perfect album! Baba O'Riley is a perfect opener The Song Is Over is awesome, so is Getting In Tune Going Mobile (which was supposed to be in the scrapped Lifehouse) and My Wife are underrated Behind Blue Eyes is awesome as well Wont Get Fooled Again is incredible and also my favourite song off the album! Although I like "Love Aint For Keeping", I have to say it is my least favourite unfortunately. Overall, one of my favourite albums of all time and definitely worth a listen for someone who has never heard The Who before!

This is, in my opinion, The Who’s best studio album by a considerable margin and one of “classic rock’s” best albums. Baba O’Riley is a rare perfect song and one of the best openers on any album. Excellent throughout, but it begins and ends with perfection, as the best albums do.

106/1001 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

Have Always Loved the Who… sn iconic album!

Baba O'Riley Bargain My Wife Getting in Tune Going Mobile Behind Blue Eyes Won't Get Fooled Again

Listened to it in my car in the year of our lord 2005. It's that iconic.

One of their bests though all their stuff is great.

LEGENDARY

My dad's favorite album of all time.

Music was v good, if I didn’t know any better I wouldn’t know when which song started but that doesn’t discount how high quality the musicianship and production on this album is.

Not bad at all, pretty good from start to finish with a few highlights sprinkled throughout.

For the majority of it, I was sitting there thinking "eh this seems like a fine 80s album, doesn't seem to crazy." Only about halfway through it did I find out this was in 1971, and it changed a lot for me. This didn't sound anywhere close to any pre-80s album I've heard prior, which is crazy.

Honestly, I'm kind of glad the original LIFEHOUSE pitch didn't happen. I mean, can you imagine? Instead of just nine of the greatest tracks The Who would ever make simply existing by themselves, they'd be surrounded by all of this weird whatever about people being fed entertainment through tubes or something? There's some explanation that the intro to "Baba O'Riley" is someone's DNA converted into song or whatever? I love a concept album, but nah. You don't need all that. It's a masterwork enough on its own. From the well-known songs down to even "My Wife"—funnily enough, the only song not written for LIFEHOUSE. Simply put, the album's the best The Who ever had. (THEY BEST THEY EVER HAAAAAAA....)

The WHO. That is all.

I believe we’ve listened to the gold standard of albums here (because I can’t think of one that’s better right now.) The album is stacked: all songs excellent, lead guitar great, vocals great, bass great, drums excellent, synthesizers amazing (laser show when ya saw it live was very cool at the time.) Have listened to this album in it’s entirety within the last three years so knew what to expect and it once again delivered! Had a copy of it at 4Ex and wore it out, had the CD in Haverhill and it saw frequent play, have it on my spotify playlist and still love the songs when they come up. For the first time a difference in ratings must be noted as they’re pretty far apart. L=3.8*s J= (5.0*s)

This is dad-rock but with actual talent and I love it for that. We heard this a ton growing up so it will always be special. The instrument playing is absolutely stellar, the energy is fully there, the album art slays, and the song themes tell priceless stories we can all relate to. The Who really has it all, they can woo you with a slow tune and then belt out an absolute banger and you'll love em both. The tracks are littered with priceless little gems (I'll gladly lose me to find you, 1 and 1 make 1, etc.) This is a damn near perfect album, if anyone people tell you otherwise... they're all WASTED!

This album holds a high ranking. Many good songs with probably their 2 top hits as bookends. Good run time and iconic cover. The one shortcoming is "Going Mobile". It's cheesy and doesn't fit with the rest of the tracks. Works for any occasion...4.5.

Wow! First album

I have a looooooooooooong history with this album. My Who phase pretty much directly followed my Beatles phase (still waiting on a Beatles album…). I consumed everything of theirs I could find - the good, the bad, the great. This album is one of my favorites of theirs and of all time. Period. I have a big, mostly nostalgic connection to Baba O’Riley. I maintain that it’s one of the best album openers of all time. I’ve listened to that song in many different periods of my life and it’s meant something different each time. I’ve been known to call it my favorite song. It’s made me smile, it’s made me laugh, it’s made me feel elated about life and it’s made me cry. Bargain is probably the hardest rocking song on this album and it hits every time. “Love Ain’t for Keeping” is a nice palate cleanser from the intensity of the first two songs, and has always come across as a really sweet song. “My Wife” maybe hasn’t aged that well and even despite that is a low point on the album for me. Entwhistle’s songs were rarely highlights though (with apologies to “Boris the Spider” fans). “The Song is Over” is too long and little too schmaltzy but when it hits at its peak it’s amazing. “Getting in Tune” is another quieter song but it’s really well produced. We’ve hit the final stretch of the album. “Going Mobile” is a little weird but is a great example of what the band could do as a power trio without Daltrey. Not as good but the energy from the rest of them, especially Entwhistle and Moon, carries the song. “Behind Blue Eyes.” I mean come on. The song is in two distinct halves and they’re both equally masterpieces. When it turns to the second half, it’s like the bass dropping. My god. And the backing vocals in the first half??? What?!?!? But we need to talk about “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” I don’t always love a song that runs eight and half minutes. But if you’re gonna have that song, it had better big, loud, and epic and you better close your album with it. The Who knew what to do. Is there a better closer than this? I cannot say enough about this song. It’s Keith Moon’s masterpiece, it’s Pete Townshend’s masterpiece, it’s Roger Daltrey’s masterpiece, and it’s one of Entwhistle’s many masterpieces. This album makes me feel so many things. It’s a part of me and I love it. It’s unfair to give it to me in this project because I didn’t even need to listen to it. I just know it. This was the first automatic five star album of this project. It’s a masterpiece. I defy anyone to call this a bad album. I don’t see how you can do it. It’s objectively four amazingly talented musicians at the top of their game absolutely fucking killing it. Five stars. I’d give it 10 if I could. Standout tracks: Baba O’Riley, Bargain, Getting in Tune, Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes, Won’t Get Fooled Again

Ладно, поставлю 5. Сначала не выкупил, но потом все же почувствовал напористость исполнителя и прилипчивость мелодий.

Fantastic album. Six stars at least.

One of the best by one of the GOATs

It’s The Who. There is a reason they are iconic. Fantastic music!

Immortal classics! It is one on the best albums forever! Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes songs are the masterpieces. All others are perfect also.

This was the first The Who album I owned, so I may be a bit biased. Then again - name me another album that both starts and ends this strong?

Such a good album

When that first piano chord hits in the Baba O’Riley intro, my soul is rejuvenated, my will to live is renewed, and for one brief moment I am truly content.

Got better and better over its brief run. There's nobody who ever played like Keith Moon.

The centrepiece in The Who's run of four near flawless albums, where every stylistic turn is justified and works to expand the broader musical intent. It's a perfectly infectious album that helped define the absolute heights of the 1970s, let's call it "alternative" rock.

One of the greatest rock albums of the 70s and is still a standard for rock albums going forward

Wow. Had no idea that all those iconic songs came out in 1971. A total game changer for popular music at the time

Classic album. 5.0/5.0: Iconic

Album 378 of 1001 The Who - Who's Next Rating : 5 / 5 All great tracks. Awesome, classic album, in my opinion. Start with Baba O'Riley and end with Won't Get Fooled Again. It's all gravy

This classic album has some great songs, and some mediocre songs. It should probably be 4/5, but the Roger's scream at the end of "We Won't Get Fooled Again" is worth a whole star on its own.

All killer, no filler

Wow pretty incredible album. I really enjoyed jamming out to this. Couple of classics but the whole thing felt great.

Great album although too much synth and moog bass… Baba Oreilly is the exception.

The whole thing is good. Won't Get Fooled Again catches the attention in a particular way. Quadrophenia is still my favourite album.

One of the best opening tracks of all time. Setting the stage for a legendary album. Pure bliss being injected in my veins with every single listen Baba O'Reily is just one of my favorite songs of all time. A hell of a follow up after the Rock Opera epic Tommy. Everyone is firing at all cylinders on this album. Everyone in the band is on the A-game.

timeless tunes

Wow, guess I like The Who

Même si j'écoute pas souvent cet album : 5 star baby.

You can't give an album that has "Baba O'Reilly" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" anything less than 4 stars just for those two songs alone, but "Behind Blue Eyes" makes it an easy 5.

This is another classic from an all time great rock band. Baba O Reilly is a super spic way to start an album and the rest keeps up the energy. Bargain, a couple weird 70s breakdowns. It amazing overall. Great album and a must listen! 4.5/5

Discazo

one the best albums by one of my favorite bands of all time.

A truly amazing album by an incredible band. Almost every song is a classic.

A monumental record with just enough charming shag in between the monolithic bookends to keep revisits interesting.

Fantastic album

Best Who album ever. When CD players came out, this was the first CD I bought. Terrific from start to finish.

This might hold the record for most songs used in commercials. I mean, sure there's lots of huge songs that I loved when I was 12 but they've almost moved from being songs to something else entirely. I can imagine this being a huge deal when it came out but now it feels old hat.

I know this one!

Maybe the best rock and roll album of all time! It’s the perfect mix of dynamics — perfection. The bonus track “Naked Eye” is fantastic.

Baba O'Riley is another one of those all time songs. Fitting that it opens up this album. The Who sounds so American. This reminds me of that Lynard Skynard album where it is just banger after banger after banger. Hard to find any criticisms of this album.

The peak of Rock n Roll. 10/10

God, the amount of times I uttered “hell yeah brother” or some variation on that utterance over the past couple days listening to this record is mildly shameful. This is so quintessentially classic it’s been a meme for decades now but a few things come to mind: There’s no bad episode of Freaks and Geeks but the episode centered around The Who concert coming to town has always been one of my favorites. In an episode that solely features Who needle drops it seems noteworthy to mention that almost every song on this record is dropped in that episode. Secondly, criminally under appreciated TV show Joe Pera Talks To You has many great moments, but besides the perfect breakfast bite I find myself thinking about “Church Announcements” on a weekly basis. The premise being that culturally illiterate protagonist Joe Pera hears “Baba O’Reilly” for the first time and is so awestruck and swept away by the wonder of the song that he binge listens to it for a whole weekend and is still so overcome with passion that he scraps reading the actual church announcements to preach a sermon on the power of Rock & Roll to a mostly bemused audience who all know and take for granted the song most people think is called “Teenage Wasteland.” Joe’s comedic timing and sheer naivety carries the episode, but the point stands! “Baba O’Reilly” is a great fucking song, it’s a marvel!!! And the thing is there’s like 6 other amazing songs here! They’re cliche big platitude big sound classic rock songs in its finest form. Roger Daltrey’s vocals are so powerful, John Entwistle was the quintessential underrated bass player, Keith Moon has such a particular timbre with his drum playing and sounds but he contributes so much to this album. One of those albums that makes me sit back in my chair and think “hell yeah, music is cool as shit.”

Brilliant album beginning to end.

Tienen el mismo de nombre el sonido que fa un Obila. Tremendos La unica banda en la que te pueden preguntar: -Que escoltes? +The Who -Qui? +Exacto. Top tier chiste buen sonidito

This brought back memories of working the overnight shift in a factory, and this album was playing. Sometimes on repeat. It has the standard Who sound and quality. It is a great piece of music history, which is worthwhile revisiting again and again.

Great album.

Probably a 5 star. It is a great album but I’ve never fully liked the who

bangers pretty much top to bottom.

Absolute smash. Love it!

9/10 lot of bangers but only down one point cause I don't see myself actively putting this on myself

Baba O’Riley 👍🏻 Behind blue eyes 👍🏻 Won’t get fooled again 👍🏻 Water 👌🏻 What a great album. Kept me entertained and had great guitar licks. It was banger after banger here.

Uma das minhas bandas preferidas, esse álbum marcou muito pra mim, assim como a banda. Amo-o do começo ao fim. Excelente!

Wow can't deny the skill and energy here. Great album.

Knock knock . . . this rocks.

What an amazing album.

Really enjoyed this one.

Visste inte att The Who hade gjort Behind Blue Eyes. Generellt bra, inte så mycket mer att säga. 5 / 5

Been awhile since I had sat and listened to this whole album -- holds up great. Love the anthems, love the quieter moments, love that it feels grandiose without feeling over the top.

A masterpiece. So many iconic songs.

Clearly, an all time classic. Fill up an entire hand with straight bangers and even the "b-sides" songs are pretty solid, if not as brilliant as the well-known tunes. I'd probably give it a 4.5 if it was more granular, but we'll round up :).

One of the best albums of all time. Behind Blue Eyes is one of my favorites. Such raw vocal emotion and layered instrumentals.

yeah i mean i am totally biased when it comes to this album. it's a contender for my favorite album of all time. i fell in love with this album when i discovered it in middle school, and although i know a lot of this album gets played to death on classic rock radio, it has not killed my adoration for this one. the songs are great, the musicianship is top notch, and what puts it over the top for me is the production. this album sounds so fucking good. my god. all timer for me!

The piano work on the album is absolutely incredible.

Possibly the greatest album opener and greatest album closer of all time and The Who's finest moment. Everything screamed proper rock and roll. The band's disparate nature - sometimes described as four soloists in the one band - finally fused together to create this magnum opus. It is just a marvellous, infectious record and easily merits its place here.

Arguably the best Who album - nearly every track is stellar.

Listen. Really listen. “Who’s Next” may start with a pun and a literal piss-take of an album cover, but this is serious business. It’s one of those rare Rock records that moved the needle. Has there ever been a more epic (we overuse this word; it fits here) pairing of opener/closer? It’s like Townsend wrote his thesis statement in “Baba O’Riley” and then decided what he actually needed was a generation-defining protest song, drenched in cynicism, that sounds like a revolutionary anthem, so he doubled down and wrote “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” What a wizard. Luckily, Townshend’s companions are equally up for the task and magical too. Everything The Who ever did well is on full display—Daltrey’s vocal grit and howl to the heavens, Moon’s absolutely singular thunder and controlled chaos, Entwistle’s unmatched power chord playing on 4strings and solid-as-a-fortress foundation, and Townshend taking definitive turns on electric and acoustic guitars all while showcasing that he would be the lead singer in every other band if he hadn’t found his muse in Daltrey. It’s an unbelievably defiant musical statement that manages to welcome multitudes and speak across generations.

Perfection

So good.

Some classic classic rock, Roger Daltrey has a great voice for a rock band.

I’ve been listening to this as long as I can remember and I think I love it more each time.

This may be my favorite, or at least one of my favorite albums by The Who, because it gets away from some of the silliness that is some of their other stuff like Tommy, and I really don't think "Who's Next" has a bad song on it. It is straight-forward rock that I find enjoyable to listen to. There is a reason it sounds "just" like Classic Rock, at this point, because it is one of the things that set the standard.

My favorite Who album. Love this one.

No faltan baladas, como "The Song Is Over" o la mordaz "Behind Blue Eyes". También a destacar "Bargain" y "My Wife", con unas cautivadoras líneas de bajo a cargo de John Entwistle.

One simple word WOW what a album it is an rock and punk lovechild with themes such as government and war The Who really impressed me on this album, Pete Townshend’s guitar, vocals and songwriting on this album really shined for me on songs like Baba O Reilly and Behind Blue Eyes and then the lyrical Masterpiece which is We Dont get Fooled again is just a chefs kiss to an amazing album

YES! One of my all-time favorite groups! Among the greatest albums ever made!

''the song is over'' ja vielä biisiä jäljellä... pink floyd referenssen... liian hyvä albumi pistääkseen ruotsiksi hommat. peli piip tälle hommalle, unohdetaan tää ruotsi homma... ''i dont care about pollution'' en minäkään, vaikka yrittävät aivopestä, elän viherpeipposentralissa hohhoijjaaa.. ja jotkut luulee että niitä syrjitään... niin siitä albumista, parempi kuin muistan, vituttaa birttiläismäläiset mutta vain pari heikompaa melkein kaikki on bängereitä. instrumentals..melodiat ... saatana tiiä näistä... kuulostaa korvalle hyv' lt.. wont get fooled again

My favorite album by an all time great band. Classic.

Classic rock at its finest. Baba O'Reiley will make even the most curmudgeonly geezer break out the air guitar. The whole album is quality.

Every word, every note, pure gold. The range and depth of the tracks on the album, especially after to listening to so much music that is less than this, amplifies the talent of the artists of the 70s. Awesome

I got back to back Who albums. There are 6 years and 3 albums between My Generation and this one. The maturity in the vocals, musicianship and songwriting is immense. This one is an all timer in the rock n roll genre!

Love this album!

Quite brilliant, best album they made.

Always have lived this one.

Classic Who album, "baba O'Reilly", "bargain", "behind blue eyes" and "we won't get fooled again" all on one album! It's a great album

Caleb sucks

ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. "WON'T GET FOOLD AGAIN" BEST SONG EVER!!!

What a great album.

#118. This is a pretty classic album with several songs that people that don't even listen to this kind of music know. 5/5: excellent

A classic!

Why can't I give it 10 stars?

Awesome

I feel like this is an album that everyone has heard a bunch of times. And deservedly so, it's got to be one of the best records of the era and probably the best album The Who recorded. Baba O'Riley is definitely a strong start but has never been one of my favorite songs. The middle does kind of sag a little but I think that's where you kind of intentionally put the songs you know aren't as strong. But even My Wife or The Song Is Over are still pretty decent. Finishes super strong, Behind Blue Eyes is always amazing. It's a fun album to listen to, great work. Still 5/5 despite it's flaws.

This is the Who at the height of their powers. Pete Townshend's potent guitars and Roger Daltrey's soaring voice are central elements of the Who's sound, and Keith Moon's powerful drum fills and Roger Entwistle's active bass lines are as important to the Who's full, rich sound. The impressive contributions of all four gave life to Townshend's compositions, and made the Who one of the most successful rock bands in the world. Who's Next includes some of their best known tracks, like "Baba O'Reily," "Bargain," "Going Mobile," and "Behind Blue Eyes." Their energetic sound and their range enabled them to create rock anthems and emotive ballads, which contributed to their popularity and their world-wide success.

these dudes were inspired. pete is one of a kind

great album! the best of The Who!

Classic Album, one of the best

One of my all time favorites.

This album was a little before my time and I never quite understood the appeal, but I very much liked it this time around.

- Baba O’Riley intro still goes hard as does the rest of it. Song also makes me think of stranger things now. - Bargain Great instrumentals. Appreciate a man getting close to knowing how much a woman is worth - Love Ain’t For Keeping Tbh I think I’m missing the point but still sounded great - My Wife Knowing a woman’s strength, let’s keep this going - she will kick your ass - The Song is Over Petition to make this our national anthem - Getting In Tune Definitely sex related. The “I’m getting in tune right on you” makes me think he’s talking about cumming on her but that’s because my mind is in the gutter always but still knowing rock bands at the time it fits the shoe. But anyway I like it. The song. Not necessarily the euphemism, I’ve heard better ones. Once again instrumentals are perfect - Going Mobile lol this should be in the soundtrack of the rover De Niro grandpa comedy movie - Behind Blue Eyes I know what it’s like to be the bad man, just behind brown eyes. The one I’m most emotionally connect to in terms of lyrics - Won’t Get Fooled Again Here for it. Too tired for coherent thoughts but I like it. Overall amazing album that I highly highly enjoy but have a lower emotional attachment to lyrics. Would absolutely listen again and will Based on my taste in music: 4.5 Pretending to be a music critic: 4.7

Classic

One simple word WOW what a album it is an rock and punk lovechild with themes such as government and war The Who really impressed me on this album, Pete Townshend’s guitar, vocals and songwriting on this album really shined for me on songs like Baba O Reilly and Behind Blue Eyes and then the lyrical Masterpiece which is We Dont get Fooled again is just a chefs kiss to an amazing album

Incredible album, didn't realize that they did behind blue eyes, so that was nice to know the name of that song. 9/10

Love this! Always have, always will!

I love The Who, from Tommy, to Quadruphinia. Its sad to hear this could have been another themed album and ended up being scrapped. Lots of hits in this one, guaranteed W.

Bery good

Highlights: Baba O'Reilly, Bargain, My Wife, Getting In Tune, Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again. In a nutshell: get your air guitars ready. Energetic, chaotic, heartfelt, progressive, skilled. Opens and closes strong, no filler. Compulsory listening. Enough said. Overall: 9/10

Amazing. can't believe all these great songs are on one album. crazy. I know like every song on this one and I'm not even of the era and didn't know much about the who before their superbowl appearance....crazy.

One of my favorites

Amazing rock anthems that made me feel like a wasted teenager all over again. Massive guitar riffs, creative song structures and novel recording techniques. Truly a groundbreaking work.

Todo un clásico, pero la versión deluxe (la que escuche) no añade nada interesante. Canciones épicas y atemporales como: "Won't get fool again"!!

Dear Gods! This entire album defines "masterpiece". For most bands, they'd settle for one or two songs on an album to break into mainstream air play. These lads unleashed an entire album of classic rock hits! Keith Moon beat those drums like a red-headed stepchild!

This is an incredble album. I still have the original record I bought when it came out.

Great. Top to bottom.

I have owned this album since its release on 8-track, cassette and eventually CD. That the music still holds up says it all. Still relevant, still listenable and exciting, still fun.

Baba Oreilley is a massive hit, probably the biggest by the Who. Another great album

One of my alltime favorites, I have seen The Who live 5-6 times, and heard them perform most of this album live.

i am a huge fan of The Who, namely because of Who's Next. Simply a great album. Enough cannot be said about Entwistle and Moon's playing on this album. it is simply stunning.

Fantastic Album. Baba O'Riley could be one of the best rock songs in history. The album flowed really well and didn't feel overly long or short. by far my favorite Who album.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSDCzm_srfc omg the synths 😍

One of the best rock albums ever

One of my husband and son's favorite albums. I've listened to this numerous times over the years (sometimes willingly, sometimes not). It is a great album, though.

10/10 banger Sick guitar part on Baby Don’t You Do It Behind Blue Eyes is a classic Is that a synth on Baba O’Reily?

5. A classic one. God I loved it. Didn't know a lot of the songs in the middle but they were great

👍🏽

Who's Next delivers a sonic punch that echoes through time, like a musical meteorite leaving a crater of legendary tracks. From 'Baba O'Riley's electronic rebellion to 'Behind Blue Eyes' soulful introspection, this album is a rock masterpiece, proving The Who's legacy is not just a fleeting moment, but an everlasting sonic journey.

Fantastic album.

Que som sensacional! Eu amei.

Several all time great along with some still very enjoyable other songs. Overall definitely 5/5

one of the best rock albums of all time. fun & playful, but a little moody & understated down

Hard to name 5 albums that are better than this one. Just a peach start to finish.

Nothing else to say: legendary

A perfect album from start to end.

A classic and a good classic at that. Love this album.

What can one say about this album that has not already been said? A landmark album in the annals of rock music. Don't miss.

One of my all time favorites. 10/10

Who’s Next by The Who

awesome

This album has so many hits it's almost hard to remember it's all from the same one. Baba O'Reily is such a great and unique song. Won't Get Fooled Again has great energy, and Behind Blue Eyes has so much feeling. A huge band and a huge album.

3 of their biggest hits on one album The production is amazing. One of the coolest album covers. Keith Moon is so damn good. Pete Townshend!

What a huge classic! It’s hard to nitpick this album and band, because honestly, it’s all so damn good! Being a drummer, Keith Moon is absolutely the MVP, but Daltrey has a great delivery of vocals too. The songs are solidly written, the album is far from too long and it’s got some of their greatest songs! 9,5 out of 10

Finally, an album that I can say, with 100% confidence, is deserving of being considered and album that you should listen to before you die. It feels like I haven't gotten very many of those lately. Luckily, this is a phenomenal and absolutely iconic album. You'd think that, given my track record as of lately, a 9-song, 44-minute-long album would drag quite a bit and have songs that feel like they never end. Somehow, that isn't the case. All of these songs are great, even if some of them could be seen as "filler-y". Admittedly, this album is strongest with the opening and closing tracks, but everything in the middle is still amazing. The usage of synthesizers and other instruments creates what are arguably some of the most iconic riffs of all time. I really liked the vocals. All of the singers do great jobs, and the screaming in particular was some of the most satisfying screaming I've ever heard in rock music. The album feels cohesive, yet varied at the same time. Overall, this is a legendary album, and a really good one at that. 5/5.

Do I even have a choice? All of these tracks are amazing. You just can’t beat Baba O’ Riley and Won’t Get Fooled Again in the same album. Not to mention room other tracks. The musicianship here is amazing as well. This album is a 5. There is no argument.

I'am a vinyles collector and this is the first album i recived, and to be honnnest i don't remeber why i ask for this one, because i only knew 2 songs, but i ended up listening to it and never regreting it ever since. Form the first note of Baba O'Reilley to the legendary yelling of won't get Fooled again this album is genius. Its their first album in 2 years at tht point, so its the follow up to Tommy a imensly popular album, their first opera rock wich gain a lot of critical and popular acclaims, so the pressure was high to make something good. For a lot of reasons this album is their most succesfull and acclaim in their carrer, at the beggening Pete Townshend wanted to make a opera album like Tommy but it was abandoned, but they make a more classic studio album instead. It was supposed to be called Lifehouse a kind of sci-fi rock album. The participation of all 4 memebrs is clear, Daltrey sing with his imense voice and power, while Moon play the drums like all hell break loose (he played violin in Baba O'Reilley), Towsnehd is a guitar hero we all know that but he sing on 1 song and he sing the bridge of 3 others songs. Entwistle is often considered THE gresteast bass player of all time and its easy to see why, he sing in one song. For the music style the Who were a garage rock, mod rock band at the beggening, but this album is clearly a Hard Rock album, less hard than Led Zep or Blakc Sabbath, but still very powerfull. They also use accoustic guitar, piano and other instruments and some song are more ballads than hard rock. For me personaly the track form best to "worst" (because they are all good) are: Won't get fooled again is hard-progressive track, the tension esclate up to that YEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH form Daltrey, the song talk about a revolution and a political desillusion, often lead to long drums solo for Keith Moon and has been used countless time in the pop culture, like in CSI Miami where i first year it, every time he say it i could hear Horatio Kaine said a punchline and the generic started. Baba O'Reilley: It'a simply on of the greatest rock song of all times, its really a Arena rock classic, and a classic of the band. The introduction is magic, recognisable between a thousand. The violin ending played by Keith Moon is also a good part. Behind blues eyes, is more of a ballad, accousitc guitar, beautiful lyrics and more slow tempo, a very good song. The Song Is over is another example of a song written for the Lifehouse project but was recycled here with sucess i have to say, we have the verse sing by Pete with a synthezer and a Piano, very slow and sad song. Adn the Chorus sing by Daltrey wich a good constast, and its just beautiful and all. Bargain, good song, good instruments and all, not much to say Love aint for keeping, i don't got much to say about this one, its good wituh behind exeptional Getting tune, is not a particulary impactfull song but i like it My Wife, i'm gonna be a bit mean, but this song is not really good, i don't like Entiwstle's voice but its not a trash song too, it got the bare minimum to be in this album and its ok. Anyway this album is a reasons why electric guitar has been invented, pure talent here, the Who at their best, not a perfect reccord but not very far form it.

IS GUD

This album is even better than I remembered. At first I was thinking of it as being Baba O'Reilly and Won't Get Fooled Again with a load of filler in the middle. But I forgot how great My Wife and The Song is Over are. The only negative I would have about it is that sometimes Pete Townsend's lyrics are a bit uninspiring. Especially on Getting in Tune and Behind Blue Eyes. I've salaams found the lyrics of the later pretty cringe, but musically it's a great song. Overall its a 9/10 for me.

I LOOOOOOOOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!

Stratosferico, nulla da dire, grande classico, l'ho riascoltato molto volentieri

Classic Who.

The best I ever had!!!!!!!! I never listened to this record front to back before. I've heard a lot of the songs before but God damn... This album rips. To this day it still holds true. I've never been a huge Who fan. Never had a problem with them but I just didn't gravitate towards them. I look at bands who try to rip off old bands, Greta Van Fleet - > Led Zeppelin; The Struts - > Aerosmith or Def Leppard; Airborne - > AC/DC. But they always come up short. They try too hard to be like their inspiration. And that sucks. It's ironically uninspiring. But if bands tried to be more like The Who, not emulate or rip off... But take notes from The Who.. I think success would follow modern day rock bands. I guess GVF is popular... But are widely critiqued and probably lost a lot of interest due to sounding like a cover band. No band has resurrected rock music. As a fan of the genre, that saddens me. But I find inspiration and love in other guitar driven music. What I'm saying is, this album is so well written. The ideas. The riffs. The voice. The lyrics. THE DRUMS! The compositions. The production! This album really has it all. This album is experimental gone right in all the right places. I am going to dive into the Who and check out other records. I hear Tommy is a masterpiece. I can't say anything bad about this album. Notable songs: My Wife - excellent horns. Love the ending refrain. Behind Blue Eyes - great slow jam... That turns out pretty rockin. Good contrast. Good lyrics. Baba O' Riley - quite the Magnus opus Song is over - lyrics are great. Vocals are awesome! Guitar solo is perfect and compliments the song. It's not showy. It is notes played where they need to be. Piano pieces are beautiful.

I too, am an air conditioned gypsy.

A landmark in rock. When Townshend's high-minded concepts and his sharpest songwriting chops were at their zenith.

fucking a. seriously, this is epic

Amazing and timeless!

Baba and Won't get fooled? Yes please

Awesome

Amazing album!

Is famous person said. There is no two thoughts

Beautiful 😍🥹

Just a fantastic album from front to back.

Such a classic album. Not much else to say

Great album. Favs: "Baba O'Riley" - what an opening, "Getting in Tune", "Going Mobile" & "Water" **Side note: Another band of men.

Bangers after bangers. Never knew I liked The Who but already knew most of the album. Nice.

Baba O'Riley- 5/5 Bargain- 4.6/5 Love Ain't for Keeping- 4.3/5 My Wife- 4.5/5 Song Is Over- 5/5 Getting in Tune- 5/5 Going Mobile- 4.8/5 Behind Blue Eyes- 5/5 Won't Get Fooled Again- 4.5/5 Total- 4.7/5

Packed with hits and even the non-hits are really good. This might just be the best Who album.

Absolute banger of an album ! Need to listen to it again

Stone cold classic. My Wife is the worst song, and even that's pretty good. Over five just absolute all-timers. Way to go, The Who.

A Great Album.

No way I got this lucky. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I own this on vinyl and had the pleasure of listening to it twice. Every song is fantastic and about half of the album is comprised of some ofu favorite songs ever. Baba O Reily, Behind Blue Eyes, AND Getting in Tune? What a treat, what an album!

Summary: The Who have mastered the craft of early-70s hard rock through this unquestionably great work of art. A solid lineup of songs and three particularly strong ones bookending the rest. The instruments are all played excellently, including the drums, guitar, and synth (when it appears). Also, one of my favourite-ever album covers. Baba O'Riley: Incredible intro - one of the stadium-filling, immortal moments in rock history. Simple bass, drums, and guitar back some brilliant singing. A thrilling masterpiece. Seamless movement between the sections, showcasing variations on the iconic synth+guitar strums combo from the intro. Exciting, semi-climactic ending. Bargain: Some excellent drumming (Keith Moon!) leads us into a driving rock beat with a mean melody. Again, a well-constructed mood change at 1:50, with some noticeably good playing on the bass. More mood changes later. Consistently engaging, and a variety of fairly memorable riffs and licks. A lengthy synth-guitar tradeoff solo section ends the song. Love Ain't For Keeping: The acoustic guitar and soft backing vocals are most impressive here. Classic blues chords and a laid-back drumbeat. Quite a short track, which fades into the next one. My Wife: Different vocalist. Simple melody (I feel like there's something missing here in the verses; we know this vocalist can hit some higher notes ("yeaah!"), so incorporate those into the melody!). Some slightly more adventurous chord progressions, still keeping in the heavily bluesy rock style of the previous tracks. Nice meshing of brass and synth at 1:35. The Song Is Over: Piano intro sounds familiar. Nice chords and a wistful atmosphere. Great drop (with a strange tempo change) at 1:15. Bass fills are strong, and the song's feel gets really adventurous leading up to the 2-minute mark. Build-ups and drop-offs are used frequently, to great effect. Brilliant. Build-up similar to Baba O'Riley towards the end, for a nice climactic end to side 1. Getting In Tune: Sounds in tune to me. Unexpected chords in the chorus create some seriously cool vibes. "Right in on you"-"ʳᶦᵍʰᵗ ᶦⁿ ᵒⁿ ʸᵒᵘ" makes a good back-and-forth. Harmony in the left channel at 2:15 - nifty. Long outro with the "getting in tune with the straight and narrow" line repeated over an energetic rhythm section. Note the high piano at the end; very cool. Going Mobile: Gosh, that drum part is so fun. An almost country-ish feel at times. The selective drum breaks, acoustic guitar, and vocals (quality/melody) remind me of Fleetwood Mac. Fast and bluesy. Behind Blue Eyes: Pretty. I can see myself listening to this a lot. The lyrics speak to me, even though I'm not nearly successful or admirable enough to relate to them. Exciting drumming and guitar work just before the final chorus. Great vocal harmonies throughout. Won't Get Fooled Again: The synths return, and they're mesmerising. An epic to conclude an epic. The rock section hits hard and possibly overstays its welcome, but this can easily be forgiven. I'll probably change my mind through relistens. The outro, with the bare-bones synth followed by the reintroduction of other instruments, is great.

Simply put, some of the finest song writing and performances ever given by four members of The Who. The album is bookended with two of their greatest tracks ever, “Baba O’Riley” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” But unlike other albums with a similar structure (*cough* Toto IV *cough*), the seven songs between all range from good to excellent. In particular, “Bargain,” and “Behind Blue Eyes,” are also stellar tracks. Each member gets their moments to show off. This album just feels big. And it sports their best album cover as well!

Yep - all the monster tracks are present and correct so it's hard to think of this as anything other than a 5. Shame Daltrey is so insufferable.

Such an amazing album. Never listened to it before but over half of the songs are all time classics

great music. A classic of the rock genre

album is close to perfect baba is transcendent also rating do work Byrjun is a 4/5 for me im easy to please actually Funeral is one of the best all time

Klasik album, kad sam krenija u 2023. nisam ima toliki attention span za poslušat ovaj album kako triba, al sićan se da je čista petica, vjerojatno ću ga jednom opet poslušat.

Classic

Classic, heard all these songs 80 times but they still hit

What a banger

Excellent all around! Iconic instrumentation, both for its time now and now, and I love the gritty vocals on the opener and closing track. Everything you want and more from an album your dad still talks about.

Easily the Who’s best album. Most will know the massive hits Baba O’reily, Behind Blue Eyes, and Won’t Get Fooled Again. Bargain and Getting in Tune are also great

A stone cold classic. So many great songs. Baba O'Reilly is an 11/10 right off the jump. 🦘 'The song is over' is strangely sweet. I'm not sure I've heard that song before. And going mobile I didn't know was a Who song! Crazy And Won't Get Fooled Again... what a damn bar burner. All 8:31.

I was surprised by how many songs on the album I knew, but had no idea it was the who!

Obviously this is a classic, but relistening for the first time in a while, I’m intrigued at the amount of songs that are about the craft of songwriting itself. It has an almost Cohenesque sense of the deconstruction of songwriting as an art form. I like The Who a lot, but I’m not a big enough fan to have looked up Lifehouse to know what the plot would have been. I don’t know how the theme of songwriting would have fit into the story of the concept album, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t now intrigued. Pete Townshend seems to have been having a bit of a mid-fame crisis about his role as lead songwriter, which leads to a really fascinating listen. Coming off the back of the first great Concept Album with another, more complex Concept Album would have been predictable. Coming off the back of the first great Concept Album with an album of abandoned songs from another concept album that ultimately has no direct theme is, fascinating. It certainly helps that The Who were hot shit. I’d place money on the idea that anything they’d have released following Tommy would have been amazing. That it ended up being Who’s Next, which is just a fantastic set of songs, irregardless of theme or connection is just proof of how good they were. I’m not gonna go ahead and say it’s their best album yet, I’ve not listened to a lot of their stuff in a while. But to say it’s one of the best collections of music of all time is undeniable

10/10. This is the best The Who have ever sounded, though I still like Quadrophenia better for its rock opera concept. I can only imagine what this would have been like if this had all been successfully folded into Life House.

This is perhaps the best summer road trip album ever. 10/10

Classic. 5/5

So many greats in one album, great

Oooooh boy. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Many of The Who’s best songs. Great production and performance. I just now fully get the title pun. Also seen this cover for decades and just realized the pee gag. Never paid attention, I guess! This is top of the top!

Great Album

10/10 got Great thrift finds BANGER ALBUM

I've always enjoyed The Who on the radio, I never listened to an entire album with exception to Tommy. Glad to have this chance to listen to a full album. Every track is pretty great, I should listen to the Who more.

One of the best. Just brilliant.

In my all time Top Ten albums, my favourite group of all time, i don't need to say how great this is, it's enough just knowing it.

Hugo, si t’a un album à écouter dans la liste, c’est LUI. Le drummer est une bête et toute les tounes sont de l’excellent rock & roll.

Iconic album. Huge anthems in Baba and Won’t be Fooled again, but the rest of the album provides so much. Absolutely adore ‘Behind Blue Eyes’, and ‘Bargain’ keeps the energy up after the opener. I’ve watched the documentary on the making of this album before and was blown away about some of the pioneering recording techniques and the innovation of Townshend. So much musical depth here. Love love love it

Whilst Sell Out is the best Who album in the "pop" field, this is their best "rock" album. Roger Daltry provided some of his most powerful vocal performances (heck the whole band do) on an album chock full of great songs with meaningful lyrics that are in turns witty, spiritual and philosophical, without ever sounding pretentious. Stand outs are the ones you'll find on any good Who Compilation: 'Won't Get Fooled Again', 'Baba O'Reilly' and 'Behind Blue Eyes'.

Favourite Who album. Awesome cover art too

Classic

Baba O'Reilly is one of the best opening songs of any album of all time. This album is a classic rock hall of famer.

One of my first albums. I really attribute it to getting me into classic rock. Love it!

One of the best

I tip my hat to the Who here. Great stuff. Baba O'Riley, Bargain, Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again all classics. The others aren't bad either. Drums and bass guitar are highlights for me. 5/5 even though they stole a couple of songs from that CSI show.

I love this album. Had it at school after buying it blind. I think they hit the mark with every track here. Baba O Riley is my standout but This Song is Over and Won't Get Fooled again both up there as well. I like the early synths. I've not really ever explored The Who outside of this album but I think I might now.

An excellent rock album by one of the best rock bands. I wouldn't say I'm a Who *fan* - but they do have some hits I really enjoy and their artistry and longevity can't be denied. Definitely recommended even if only for the opening tune (Baba O'Riley) and the last tune (Won't Get Fooled Again).

First time I’ve heard this, borders 5 as a reminder to listen again

Lekker album, meteen een geweldige opener, en daarna meer topnummers.

Forgot how good this album is. every song a banger. Keith Moon's drumming is unique and amazing.

This is probably the Who's single best album. Moon was still alive. Their compositions were solid. The band cohesion was tight. 5 absolute classics.

I think this is a 5 album. Pretty much perfect rock alum and incredibly iconic

This project has a lot of rejects from their previous album, “Tommy” but it doesn’t show. The songs are all great. Each one a “The Who” classic and are all fun to listen to. Great vocals and instrumentation as well. I have no praises or complaints with the production. 5/5

Classic album. I didn't realize it had some many songs that I knew. They really set a bar when it came to verity and what sounds you could use in order to produce a truly exceptional album.

Perfection

I know I'm probably taking my own history with this band into my opinion. The first rock CD I owned was The Who's best of album, and this album soon followed. They've always been my favorite classic rock band. Even though some of these songs were supposed to be part of a rock opera, I don't think there is a dull moment or a song that seems out of place. The cultural influence of this album gives it classic status on its own.

Incredible album from an incredible band. Everything about it is perfect. Favorite track: Won't Get Fooled Again

Gave it another listen just to be sure. At that time I seem to remember Pete Townsend was one of the first to use the newly invented synthesiser and it wasn’t easy like with all the digital wizardry the producers have today and who are creating music soup.

Really really cool album, it was a sweet listen start to finish. Some really well known and good songs. I liked the vocals as well and the overall vibe. Sounds led Zepply but less intense at times. I think that was my first time listening to a The Who album and that was a great discovery. Favorite Tracks : Baba O riley, The Song is Over, Behing Blue Eyes. Overall the whole album. Rating : 4.5 / 5

Some good classic rock sandwiched between 3 iconic excellent tracks. Can't go past 'Baba O'Riley' for my top pick, but I also enjoyed 'Love Ain't For Keeping' of the ones that were new to me.

As an album standing on its own: It has a strong start, strong finish, and a whole lot of good in between. This may be the essential rock album. As an album in my own life: This is what really opened my eyes to classic rock. This is what got me into bands, into artists, into music as art. Who's Next solidly earns this list's first 5-star rating.

No skips. Perfection

6/9, 67%

Probably their best work. A masterclass in the classic hard rock field!

One of my favorite hard rock album ever. All the members of The Who are exceptional musicians and it is on this album that we feel it the most. It's also the best performance by Roger Daltrey ever. I don't know how someone can listen to Won't Get Fooled Again and not feel a crazy urge to scream and go crazy.

Amazing

Baba is goat, BBY what a surprise But still sometimes feels like it’s 70s But baba is immortal 4.5/5

Took me back to high schools days - still a great album

First time listening to this album and the Baba O'Riley - Remix, Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again - Remix made the album

For me, listening to this album is like catch up with an old friend over some beers. Such great tunes from top to bottom. Roger, Pete, John and Keith are expert musicians that compliment each other. Try to isolate every individual musician for a song or two. I could listen to this one every day. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Definitely one of my “stuck on a desert island” albums.

The Who's album Who's Next is one of the best rock albums ever produced. With classic songs like Baba O'Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again, it's one of the most influential albums of the century.

Absolutely one of my favourite albums of all time. I would listen to this album forever on repeat.

Classic!

One of my favorites. Almost every single song on this album is a banger.

ATEMPORAL

Baba O'Riley, Behind Blue Eyes and Won't get Fooled Again are all from the same album?!? Sign me up! Classic rock at its best.

Oh hell yes

Excellent album, no bad tracks, all just flows through. Ends on one of my favourite Who tracks (Don't get fooled again)

Without a doubt one of the best albums by The Who. Sometimes it feels though that Roger Daltrey holds the songs more back and that Pete Townshend should've done a lot more solo stuff a lot earlier.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. This is one of those few albums where EVERY song is played on the radio. There are very few of those. There are no deep cuts here. As much as I love the live versions of "Baba O'Riley," that studio version with the violin is just something to behold. Man, that is just... gets the blood really moving. "Won't Get Fooled Again," though, I think is better as a live song. To hear Daltrey making that primal scream way back when... I wish I could have seen that. I don't think it's the same now, pushing 80. Not a clunker on this album. I used to listen to this over and over. I always wonder how this would have turned out as the Lifehouse project Townshend wanted. We have some idea, but still. This is a masterpiece and any rock fan should be familiar with it.

Now that's how you open and close an album. Baba O'Riley with the organ loop and violin (goosebumps every time) bolstering the regular, kickass bass, guitar, drum combo (and ferocious Daltrey vocals of course, with some help from Townshend). And Won't Get Fooled Again with another great organ loop and punishing guitar, bass, and drum sequences and some of Daltrey's best vocals ever (or at least his most dominating, you paying attention now? screams). Townshend really outdid himself with the lyrics and songwriting on this album. And this coming on the back of Tommy. So many other good, notable/memorable songs on the album too - Bargain, Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes (even though I never really was a fan). I didn't recognize all of them (only listened to The Who from afar) but there are no clunkers. Love Ain't for Keeping is one of those great depth tracks - simple, but deft playing that shows you how good these guys are. Entwistle's writing contribution (My Wife) is a sneaky good track, one of my faves of these lesser-knowns. Really cool rock sound from the piano and horns (all Entwistle). I really enjoyed Townshend's vocals on The Song is Over and Daltrey's vocals on Getting in Tune - both really sweet, which matches the vibe of those songs. Great, softer one-two punch going from side one to two. And that's all nine songs folks - just awesome from front to back.

Pretty sure that the Who invented the rock anthem. This album is practically one rock anthem after another. Baba O'Riley is a stone cold classic - the opening is iconic, the "teenage wasteland" section is iconic, the whole song is iconic. Bargain is a fantastic rocker. The Song is Over and Getting in Tune are both also anthemic rockers. Then the album ends with two absolute classics: Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again. The latter is arguably one of the greatest rock songs ever. Even the "weaker" songs are good. Pretty much a perfect album. Super-easy 5 rating.

A great album where the hits are just so good that the bring up the okayness of the non-hits.

Really solid rock and roll. One of my favorite opening and closing tracks for an album.

I love this album. Hottest of hot takes: Bargain is one of the best songs on the album. Still doesn't clear Behind Blue Eyes and Baba O'Reilly for me though.

From the ashes of Lifehouse rises a stunning group of songs, speaking of a new collective consciousness and the power of music to giveth and taketh away (and also “My Wife”). Ferocious, expansive, a band at the top of their game.

If you would add the song "My Generation" to this album, you could treat it as a "Best Of" record. All of their hits and my favourite songs are here. There is nothing better in more classic rock than the intro to "We won't Get Fooled Again". Amazing album, it has few doozies in the middle of the record, but in general just the few hits put it on top of 70s rock albums. It has to be 5 out of 5.

It starts with a classic album cover that immediately brings to mind the 2001 A Space Odyssey movie. The the music starts. Bang. Great tracks start to finish. This album is amazing! Standouts: Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again, Bargain, Behind Blue Eyes, Going Mobile, The Song is Over, Getting in Tune Others: My Wife 5/5

Own on Vinyl

One of the greatest albums of the 70s and one of the greatest albums by the legendary Who. Put together from scraps of their abandoned "Lifehouse" project, Who's Next was a powerhouse of songs for the ages. All four members of the band are at the top of their games, especially vocalist Roger Daltrey. With singles like Baba O'Riley, Behind Blue Eyes, and Won't Get Fooled Again, the album became an instant classic. Definitely recommend it to any person that enjoys music.

ALL TIME MASTER PIECE !!! "Baba O'Riley" is my iPhone ringtone :-) .

Goddamn!

A true classic. I've listened to it before. It really is an outstanding album and deserves a place in this list.

First full listen. Great album, a classic!

A true classic masterpiece of the legendary English rock band.

Ai saakeli onhan tää kyllä tiukka. Biisit hyviä, soitto tikissä ja äänitys futaa. 5/5

Record Company Exec: This better be one of the best albums if you want to use a picture of a concrete monolith that you just pissed on for the cover. Pete Townsend: I wrote it. 5/5

Iconic intro and hard rocking all the way through. Some of the best singing, drumming, and writing in classic rock.

I remember when I found out that this album wasn't a "greatest hits" compilation. That's how damn good The Who are. Maximum R&B.

classic, still actual

It's perfect 👌🏾 💖

Might not be their most groundbreaking, or even their best album, but it could be their strongest. "Who's Next" is in the same weight class as the best Stones and Zeppelin albums. It's chock full of kick-ass anthems played with passion and intensity. It also contains one of the greatest opening/closing combinations in all of rock history with "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again." If you want to see one of the most pure reactions to the power of rock music, watch the episode "Joe Pera Reads You The Church Announcements" from "Joe Pera Talks With You," where the title character hears The Who for the first time. It really captures that thrill you feel when a song completely blows you away, and it's no coincidence that they used "Baba O'Riley" to convey that feeling. I also love that Keith Moon seems to be openly mocking Roger Daltry's dramatic posture on the cover.

Not many albums have more than one of the best songs ever written. But the whole album is just so incredible. One of my all time favorites. 5 stars.

Great album. Never listened to straight through. Worth the experience

This has been on the list before

Great classic rock album. Wont get fooled again.

Love it.

One of my all time favourite albums including the stupendous tracks Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again, and Behind Blue Eyes. I was never much of a fan of the Who, but these three tracks are outstanding.
