I find it crazy that there were 3 Kings of Leon albums originally in the book editions, and then crazier they removed them. Their music is so bland I really don't understand why they're on this list at all.

I don't leave many reviews but I wanted to say that I definitely did not need to hear this before I died. I'm glad that the list is exploring different genres but isn't there better nu metal out there? I particularly found the vocals and lyrics very annoying. And the instruments weren't doing anything interesting to hold my attention.
This one seems underappreciated. I prefer this to a lot of other folk from the time.
This would be a 4 but I really don't like Bono's voice. I actually liked Zoo Station. I also get annoyed how U2's songs are so similar.
I can't stand Bono as a singer or as a person. I also don't care for U2's overall sound. I still recognize a couple of their other albums' musicianship, but this one isn't anything special.

Very boring. Seems like more beats than melodies.
I find this quite annoying. But I always found Electric Feel and Kids irritating. Kind of liked Pieces of What.

This album was a surprise. I had never heard any of these songs and they are not like their other songs. And the album cover is not one I would expect Beach Boys to have. Still not my cup of tea though.
I get that this album was influential to other bands but I do not get the appeal. The songs have too similar structures. The vocals and instrumentation are not appealing to me.
Has always been one of the classic rock bands that irritates me the most. I hate the sound of the guitars and vocals, the repetitive choruses, and the macho lyrics.
I always found Aerosmith annoying but I found this very enjoyable.
I've listened to this several times over the years to see what all the fuss is about, and still, I find this so boring. The lyrics, beats, and Kanye's rapping style are all so uninteresting. Even the bigger moments, like Power and All the Lights, are more impressive and less boring but not enough for me to return back to. And everything is surrounded by this arrogant air that Kanye thinks he is making this classic piece of art, which makes everything worse. I think 2 stars is being generous, even though I wouldn't say I liked any of the songs, I don't consider it to be terrible.
I always found this style, like the Strokes, very irritating. Something about the guitar riffs and the vocals are not pleasant.
I haven't cared for other Magnetic Fields stuff before and I don't normally listen to a lot of love songs or slow music but this was great.
Something about his voice and writing in this one turned me off. I really didn't like it.
I find Elvis Costello's voice to be pretty annoying. Also, the instrumentation and lyrics seem to be pretty bland.
I was interested in prog rock in high school and had this album. It wasn't one of my favorite albums but did like it and thought the production sounded unique. I also ended up painting a copy of the cover. I think this is still a unique album and even the slower songs are great.
I found her singing style to get a little tiring. This is a very important album to the 90s though.
I don't mind Bjork, but I hated this.
I was surprised to just see this band on the list and it doesn't even include the song Pepper, the only thing I previously knew about the band. This is probably the hardest review for me to do because I don't particularly like any of the songs but I think it's pretty innovative for the time.
I don't care that these are like Kid A B sides, this is one of my favorite Radiohead albums. I even like it more than Kid A. I've heard people think the opposite but I think these songs go well together. And the whole album has a unique sound and feel to it.
This isn't one of my favorite genres but it's hard to not give this a 5. Every song is great and memorable. I prefer this over Metallica's earlier thrash sound. Towards the end of the album the sound can get a little tiring but I think it's still deserving. There's a lot of albums on here that have a pretty consistent sound throughout but are still amazing.
Not really my thing but like every song is pretty catchy and the album has a unique sound.
I've been a fan of their album Brain Salad Surgery for over 15 years. This is the first time I've heard this one. It's not bad. My favorite is the keyboard parts. However, I have found the overall style of their sound on this album to be a little tiring.
I can't stand Bono as a singer or as a person. I also don't care for U2's overall sound. I still recognize a couple of their other albums' musicianship, but this one isn't anything special.
Always has been my favorite Waits album. Not a dud on here.
I've only listened to their debut, which I really don't care for, and never thought fondly of this band. But I kind of like this. Not sure I would listen to it again though.
Never heard of them before. Doesn't seem like anything special. The lyrics seemed pretty silly at times.
I listened to this a lot in high school. I usually skipped Bittersweet Symphony(it being first on the album made it so easy), just tired of it due to it being overplayed. I don't find much of a dull moment on here, and their sound is pretty unique. It seems like people thought they were a less successful Oasis, but I think this tops anything Oasis made.
I kind of like this 80s style but these songs seemed too similar. Reward seems fun though.
I do like jazz but always find it hard to get into some of the classics. The songs on this all feel so similar and find the sound of the trumpet to be too screeching.
Not my favorite type of music, but I have to recognize how catchy the songs are and how big several of the songs became.
I know I'm probably taking my own history with this band into my opinion. The first rock CD I owned was The Who's best of album, and this album soon followed. They've always been my favorite classic rock band. Even though some of these songs were supposed to be part of a rock opera, I don't think there is a dull moment or a song that seems out of place. The cultural influence of this album gives it classic status on its own.
I think one of the better albums of the 2000s, especially out of the indie genre. Such a unique sounding album.
I usually don't care for Jack White or The White Stripes. I enjoyed this more than others though. I plan on revisiting Weep Themselves to Sleep, Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy, and Take Me with You When You Go. But there's not enough songs that interest me for me to warrant a 4.
Such a unique classic. The instrumentation is great. The lyrics can be weird but I think that is part of the charm.
I've been listening to Earth People and halfshark for years. I love the weirdness of this album but have found it inconsistent and a little too long. I was really surprised to see this here but immediately got excited to read the reviews. Besides discovering new music, my favorite part about this project is reading 1 star reviews.
I much prefer Eno's ambient works. 2 stars for creativity but I did not find it that much of an enjoyable listen.
I've always found Elvis Costello to be bland.
I know it takes several listens for people to enjoy this one but I am not sure I want to do that. I don't even really like Frank Zappa.
It seems like I'm not alone in hating Costello's voice. And I don't find any redeeming qualities of the music. Nothing really interesting going on here.
This would be a 4 but I really don't like Bono's voice. I actually liked Zoo Station. I also get annoyed how U2's songs are so similar.
Probably my favorite Radiohead album. I remember when this came out and it felt like such a fresh sound.
I almost gave this a 3. Except for the three biggest songs, I didn't find the songs that special. They all kind of blended together. But I understand why this album is on this list and how popular the album is.
I almost gave this a 5 but the last few songs weren't as interesting. Up until hearing those I was even thinking that it seemed unlikely I would listen to this album again and yet I thought it deserved a 5. But the last 3 seemed like almost duds.
The singles are great but the other tracks are too formulaic and the lyrics are too shallow for me to give this a 4.
I've never heard of him. Was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Somehow more captivating than other folk albums on this list.
I hate the vocals. I don't get how this is different than other jangly rock.
The songs were too similar, nothing special, and I didn't particularly enjoy the voice.
I love Nick Cave but there are other albums I like more.
I had similar thoughts as other reviewers of cultural appropriation. To be fair, all music is a form of cultural appropriation but this was rubbing me the wrong way in parts. But it was still fun.
I tried listening to this band and album about 15 years ago. I just don't get it. Nothing really special about it but their sound is pretty annoying to me.
I haven't listened to this in a long time but this might be my favorite from Nick Cave. Wouldn't skip a song.
Wow, there's a lot of hate for this one. But I think there's generally a lot of hate for Metallica plus Metallica purists. I thought it was pretty fun. I liked some of these better than the originals. Maybe it is a little silly to be on the list but I don't believe I should be rating albums' credibility to be on this list.
I've listened to this twice in two days. I really enjoy the sound and the album is very consistent. I'm adding this to my collection of regular albums to cycle through. However, I don't see this as a 5.
This is a great example of an album that I did not really enjoy but I believe it deserves a spot on this list.
I find it crazy that there were 3 Kings of Leon albums originally in the book editions, and then crazier they removed them. Their music is so bland I really don't understand why they're on this list at all.
This was very generic and boring. I don't really care for Oasis but this seemed like a worse form of Oasis. I feel like including stuff like this is an insult to so much that could have been included.
I like this genre but I found this very boring. Maybe that's why I've never heard of them.
This is so bland! I'm glad there's some lesser known stuff on here but it seems like I've listened to several bland rock albums by bands I've never heard of. I've said it before, but it's just taking up a spot something else could've taken. Especially all the non-western music this list is ignoring. I would prefer to listen to something weird or a different genre than stuff like this.
