MGMT’s ‘Oracular Spectacular’ is a mixed bag for me. The trio of “Time to Pretend”, “Electric Feel” and “Kids” delivers a burst of electrifying energy that instantly captivates. However, beyond these hits, the album tends to plateau, with the remaining tracks feeling somewhat unremarkable. The standout songs make it worth a listen, but the overall consistency might leave you wanting more

First Allman Brothers experience of any kind and wasn’t sure what to expect. Assumed I would be listening to a rock album, and was surprised (in a good way) at how much of a blues and country feel this album has. Also a great live album with a ”jam band” feel to it. Listened to the album twice, and enjoyed it more the second time, but not an album I would play continuously. Midnight Rider was the only song I’d ever heard before, and my favorite songs are In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and Whipping Post.
“Powers in Numbers” is a timeless gem that seamlessly blends intricate lyricism with infectious beats, and this album really showcases Jurassic 5’s chemistry, vibrant energy, and clever wordplay. Really enjoyed listening cover to cover, and standouts include Freedom, A Day At the Races, Remember His Name, and What’s Golden
Neil Young’s “Harvest” is a folk-rock masterpiece and the album’s standout tracks, “Heart of Gold” and “Old Man”, showcase Young’s lyrical prowess and distinctive voice.
