Solid and fun romp full of bops T to B.

Long live pub rock

Excellently crafted album--not as heavy as I maybe expected, but clean and interesting

Guter Sound, gute Energie, klingt leider immer gleich.

AC/DC is always fun. Makes me want to go on a roadtrip.

Another classic album, not my favorite one, buts it's great

Minimalistic loud dumb fun, background vocals were great, rhythm guitar perfect. It’s an AC/DC record. Touch To Much deep cut gem.

Rockin!

Honestly better than expected, especially cause I hate AC/DC. Deserves a 4 from me.

Solid rock album, but middle songs start to blend into each other.

Brilliant.

Very good rock album loved the drum sound and vocal energy satanic references are quite funny these days

Excelente. Clássico

Very good

Not my favorite of theirs, but it still rocks. Best track: Highway to Hell

this is an albm that youre basically not supposed to think about so i wont. just kinda bangs. maybe a suprising opinion but makes sense if u think abt it ac/dc is really just the 70s version of shitty 2010s dance pop music which i also love. title track was featured in megamind (2010) so u kno its good 9/10

Sans surprise

Pretty good, but I just listened to "Back in Black" a couple days ago and I liked that one better. (Admittedly, that might be just because I listened to it first and this one felt pretty similar to it, but oh well, so be it.) It got four stars, so this one gets three.

pretty good

I have never really listened to AC/DC besides to Back in Black for a short period as a teenager. Thirty years later, I wouldn't expect I could bear such a plain and quintessential rock. Surprisingly enough, I did and actually enjoyed it (although this album is not quite as catchy as Back in Black).

The crunchy guitar sound and great intro of Highway to Hell promises you a great rock album – and for the first song it actually delivers. Highway to Hell is such crazy simple fun. The rest of the album failed to deliver and it quickly turned to generic rock. It’s too bad that the album failed to deliver, I was so hyped after the first track and even more so after giving Back to Black a 5 star revie. This one lands on a 3 star.

Pretty good, the opening track a banger.

3/5. It's a classic for a reason. They made the same album many, many times but they got it the most right on either this or Dirty Deeds. Bon is obviously much more tolerable and fun vocally. When I was about 10 I dropped my walkman into Lake Powell which had my dad's cassette copy of this in it. And thinking back to that, this was a 5/5 when I was 10 years old.

I’ve never gone out of my way to listen to AC/DC besides what’s on the radio and movie trailers or whatever. I’m not sure what I expected- maybe a little more variety? This was fine but samey-samey to my ear.

Es bueno solo no es para mi la vd

Clean and mean

A solid rocker.

i never quite liked hard rock, generally isn't particularly pleasant for me

Full of bangers, iconic album from a legendary band

Familiarity not making an album good is true here. I liked it because I know it. But I loved the song Nightcrawler

I expected more from this.

I feel bad ass like I should be smoking a cigarette

A rock/metal classic. Some banging riffs, albeit some songs feel a little samey but overall pretty iconic

This album is the embodiment of nostalgia. When I listen to this, I remember the times that me and my friends were riding in my ‘68 Firebird throughout the summer of ‘79 causing havoc wherever we went. I wasn’t even born then, but I definitely feel like I should remember that when listening to this album! Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the vibe this album gives me.

It was alright, very repetitive and I'm not a fan of Angus Youngs voice but by god can these guys write a guitar solo.

Hard Rock Favorite Songs: Highway to Hell, Girl’s Got Rhythm Least Favorite Song: Honestly, they all sound the same, so let’s go with…Night Prowler, I guess? While the album sounds so professionally and the lyrics are fine in my opinion, I don’t think that I would want to sit down and listen to the entire album all the way through. While I can handle the band’s same kind of discography in small doses via if I put the songs on shuffle, I will get bored very easily if I ever decide to listen to the full album. This is due to hearing about the fans saying that they use the same three chord progressions at different keys, and while it’s fine that the song structure can sound a bit samey or basic, it’s more so that I don’t want to physically own the album and pop it in a CD or vinyl player. 6/10

An album from my high school days. For me, music you really had to get used to back then. Oh, how rough it was...

If you ever get a job washing dishes in a restaurant, put this album in the tape player and the night will fly by. The chef might even make you something special when the shift is over.

While my appetite for listening to this, go pleasure, is limited, I nonetheless enjoyed the album and appreciate it for what it is: good rock music. Probably good to run to, or similar

This is the first AC/DC album I've listened to start to finish and it's a solid one. I like AC/DC more than I realized based just on the odd random hit I've heard over the years. This album rocks.

I enjoyed listening to this album while driving. I was only familiar with the title track but found I enjoyed a couple of the riffs and beats. I doubt I’d buy this or recommend to a friend though. 3/5.

Well I liked this, I didn’t think I would like any of their stuff😂

Listened to this way too many times as a child to enjoy it now.

Cool album

AC/DC perfected their craft. It may be simple, but there's some really catchy songs on this album. As a rock and metal enthusiast, you'd think I'd like this more but their simplicity has bored me more often than it's entertained me.

whoa, this takes me back.

Pretty good, I think I crap on AC/DC a bit too much because they were never able to make anything new after the death of Bon Scott. This and some of the previous albums are much better than I give them credit for because all of the later albums just sound like discarded demos from the original three projects that brought them their fame, and it made me just tired of the sound in general.

miau podobał mi się bardziej niż back in black

I don't really like the contemporaries of AC/DC. Cock rock never really did it for me except for what these guys produced. I hear the music, and I think about those guys who like to talk big but when it comes down to it they're kinda himbos and just big softies and are all shy and silly. I don't know why I think this. It's completely illogical. I like both lead singers of AC/DC. Why are we always comparing them and picking a better one? They can just be different y'all.

Classic, exactly the right length. Ended as I was getting fed up.

AC/DC is a strange band that somehow manages to create at least one really great song per album that becomes an all time classic. And then proceed to spend the rest of their albums creating simple generic rock songs that are so hard to hate and also love they just kind of exist.

It's a solid 3. An enjoyable listen. Probably won't listen again. Nice sounding rhythm guitar, not so into the guitar hero lead. The vocal style isn't my cup of tea.

I wasn’t expecting to like many songs from this album because I’ve always had this idea on how rock music all sounds like noise and super similar. While listening to this I found some songs actually pretty good like walk over you. I could picture some as theme songs if I’m ever running.

I live pretty close to Bon Scott's hometown (who treat him like the second coming of Christ) so I have 0 issue to say that I don’t care for this album whatsoever. Just imagined Charlie Kelly singing these songs and it both enhanced the experience but also made it so I couldn’t take it seriously Solid 5/10

Yeah, ok….This was a bomb plopped on the 80’s. Lots of folks went nuts for these guys, and I was in the correct demographic at the time. Should’ve fallen in line, but I strayed to punk instead. Just couldn’t abide by the mainstream conformers. I’ll agree with others… it all does all sound the same. Can’t deny their impact, but 3 is the best I can do.

Light 3,5

honestly i dont love ac dc anymore i just find a lot of the music grating, especially the popular hits i've grown sick of. this album was mostly tolerable except for the title track though.

The godfathers of 80s rock. Definitely worth its place in the pantheon.

I like later albums more

The album certainly rocks.

classic just not my style

one good one the rest is just ac/dc

divertido pero es demasiado de lo mismo sin la misma calidad favs "Highway to Hell" y "Touch Too Much" 3.7

Very good however very basic

I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals on this album, but everything else is pretty good. I like the band and would like to listen to more of their music, but this album is not anything amazing in my opinion.

While I can appreciate the culture impact and sound. This one isn't for me. Not a bad listen, but also not a listen I'd add to any of my own playlists.

Fun, but basically the same song x10

There’s a few bangers on this album, but it’s mostly repetitive. Its impressive what they did with three or four chords over and over again.

Highway to Hell is a great opener. Rest of the album is just meh.

Classic rock. Hard rock. Highway to Hell is an all time rock anthem. The rest of the album wavers between ok and too juvenile to take seriously.

fine but all of the songs are pretty similar. 3 stars for me.

yeah just good

Absolutamente icónico. Fue el álbum que los hizo gigantes. Love Hungry Man y Night Prowler fueron mis favs.

certified boomer classic which yet again proved the ability of ac/dc members on making one million songs which all sounds like one song 3/5

Not a huge fan. I liked the other one better. But the picture is amazing!!

Nice to revisit. Still rocks.

Title track is great Rest are kinda the same A lot of high pitched almost screaming

The title song is obviously SO overplayed, but it's interesting to hear it in the original context. I just love some good old ROCK AND ROLL!

good album overall, just not my genre

Enjoyed the guitars and rocky-ness of this album. Singing is good too. Highway to Hell is such a classic singalong for me

Nice album, tbh, only Highway to Hell blew my mind.

Bon Scott is clearly a more charismatic and dynamic singer than Brian Johnson, however the music is pretty much the same for both versions of AC/DC.

not bad, but this is not the typical genre I listen to -> it sound all very same to me. "highway to hell" is a classic though

Fine. Classique. Boring :)

A little one-note but generally fun and catchy.

3.5 Acdc album is acdc album

its fine

I really like Girls Got Rhythm and Beating Around the Bush. I never really paid attention to how freaky their lyrics actually are, but they have good riffs.

It's a bit before my time, but, at the risk of getting lynched by long-time AC/DC fans, I don't actually register the difference between Bon Scott and Brian Johnson. This is a good album, but not as good as later albums where AC/DC fully developed as a band. It's just a shame Bon didn't live long enough to be part of that.

A love letter to the kick drum. Straight ahead rock and roll. put this on while you're shirtlessly washing your T-bird.

Ive never been a huge AC/DC fan. I respect their legacy, but I'd never sink into their music.

Good stuff

More like a 3.5. A lot of the songs are great, but it gets a bit repetitive.

It’s basic AC/DC - anthemic rock, guitar riffs to appeal to the crowd, lyrics that don’t get too deep, hooks that are catchy

Malcolm Young had the best right hand in rhythm guitar history. Mutt Lange sure loves him a dry-as-dust rhythm tone though. It's leering, it's louche, it does what it says on the tin.

Obviously it starts with a hammer, truly iconic song, but then I have to admit I got lost in the album, a few songs stood out but in the end it all felt like the same one to me ... Probably cause I can't understand the lyrics with his voice and strong accent, I bet it didn't help. At least it's coherent and the vocals/guitar solos are amazing. Cover : Iconic of course, devilish as rock music is

Booooooooring

I swear this album is some blokes whole personality. Enjoy your tarmac whiskey Not bad though, just not all that 3/5

Good rock n’ roll. This album is not at the top of my list for AC/DC and not one I would seek out.

AC/DC have such a great groove to their playing. I enjoyed the first few tracks but my enjoyment kind of fell off after that and I thought that night prowler was gross. I’m sure there are Led Zep songs that are just as filthy that I probably love.

Not quite my fave but will listen again in a few weeks. I don't think I was in the right headspace for this one.

AC/DC doing AC/DC things

bit of harry innit 6.9/10

"I'm sick to death of talking about how we've released 11 identical albums. In fact, we have released 12 completely identical albums." — said Angus Young. You can't argue with the maestro; all AC/DC music is about killer guitar solos and screeching vocals on one side, and schoolboy lyrics over a very standard rhythm section on the other. So why did this formula only started to work for the band on their sixth album? I don't understand. They say the change of producer helped here — I wouldn't say so; the next album, Back In Black, is much more different from the older albums. Perhaps people were simply in a time in the late '70s when they wanted relaxed yet energizing music. Nevertheless, the monotony hasn't gone away, and AC/DC's studio recordings quickly become boring. Their concerts and live albums are a different story! So if your soul is craving for some energy and fun, it’s better to turn on AC/DC Live – an album that, in its title itself, conveys the band’s clarity and straightforwardness.

Klasika. Ale nebavi ma to...

Im new into rock so i might change my opinion after i get into this genre and understand it fully. But as for now i think for me every track felt the same, everything is up tempo except the last track and i struggle to find any memorable moment out of it except the crazy ass guitar riffs. Those stand out to me the whole project, the way the guitar riffs come in at the end of the 1st track highway to hell and on the track walk all over you (3:30 mark) is really crazy. It's just that I can't separate out other songs of this album from one another because it's kinda monotonous (as of now). Night prowler is another track i find interesting because unlike the other tracks, it has a slow tempo and a good slower vibe. 3 stars cuz i ended up saving two songs out of the album.

Never much of a fan but the impact is undeniable.

im a fan i think there was a lot of times i was banging my head. my problem w rock albums are a lot of the time every song sounds the same. i didn't feel that way about this

te levanta el ánimo como nunca

One amazing song followed by an album of generic, same sounding, forgettable rock songs.

Otla vez alos

My mother is indifferent to most music, but she cannot stand AC/DC. “No more of that horrible little screeching man! Turn it off!”

I genuinely cannot imagine the happiness that came in 1979 in a sports car as a 17/18 year old in the summer and you throw this album in and Highway to Hell is first up. Jfc. Wait. Had no idea the original vocalist, Bon Scott, of AC/DC died of alcohol poisoning and the lead vocalist changed after this album. Walk all over you feels a little surfer rock. Fav song so far probably. Will come back to this. A touch to much is my least favorite. Too narrative? And too long. Opens up good but so bored by the end. Repetitive. The underlying music is so good, but lyrically, very boring.

I LOVED Back In Black but this didn’t do it for me. Lacks the power, grandeur and catchy hooks, and I prefer Brian Johnson.

I'm not a big fan of AC/DC but this is certainly listenable.

AC/DC is the rock music equivalent of fast food. Sure, you’re not going to get a Michelin Star dinner, but you know what you’re going to get and sometimes you just crave a juicy burger. Quite often, actually. Highway to Hell is that fastfood offering, but it has to be said that the menu is stale. After another generic rock aong about how great sex is, I was about to give this album two stars. The final track, Night Prowler, saved the day. Rest in peace, Bon Scott

Overall: 6/10 It's a shame that all the sonfs sound so similar cause I love Bon Scott's voice. Angus is also a talented soloist but these riffs and drums are so boring to me. Fav Song: Highway to Hell

I expected to like this more. All in all, not a very strong album past the title track.

im not that big into rcok and roll music, so i just differ to my dad about this kinda stuff, cuz he grew up in the 80s and thus knows way more about this music style then me. and he finds AC/DC pretentious and fake, and as someone who likes pretentious and real alt rock i kinda agree.

pretty good, about what i was expecting. i liked walk all over you, but i am a sucker for choir songs.

Love it for what it is but don't love it for spending time listening to these days.

A very fun album, it’s just sounds like what we think an AC/DC album would sound like.

YEEOOOWWWW!! I AM THE MAN WHO ROCKS!!!

For me ,not much here beyond the title song, which is the classic banger. A nice mix of blues and good old hard rock n roll. Other notable cuts include Girls Got Rhythm and Night Prowler but these are meh other than the nasty side of the lyrics. Stood the test of time? Yes because, well, at the end of the day it's AC/DC.

Beating Around the Bush

Rockin' (and screamin' about sexually assaulting women)

I went in thinking I would like this album, but in the end, I thought it was just okay. Besides the title track, all the songs on the album are so forgettable and go by without you even realizing.

Dumb. Loud. All the songs sound the same. Nothing wrong with that.

Not bad; listened to this on [[2026-03-28]] and [[2026-03-29]] as well.

Rock n’ Roll, baby! Another fun album that is undeniably a classic. I enjoyed this album more than I thought I would, particularly the guitar work, but probably not enough to want to revisit. A bit too redundant.

One big song, and nine songs that also exist, and sound like that one big song... It's a good song though.

enjoyed, probably would've enjoyed a lot more in 1979

Gotta respect the energy this album brings. It's absolutely incessant. Heavily indebted to Led Zep but bringing a power they rarely attempted to tap into. I was considering going as high as four, but it did get a bit samey and I slightly lost patience with it. But gotta say - enjoyed it. The image of Jack Black's Angus Young impression danced around for 41mins.

15 year old me loved this & I respect him for that. 17 year old me saw AC/DC play at Monsters of Rock but was already exploring further afield. Now, putting nostalgia aside, I find it a touch too much & could easily find 1001 albums I would sooner listen to.

I want to rate this higher but there really isn’t reason to. It’s ac/dc which I find more listenable than most of the other albums ive been presented with here but there just isn’t anything special about this album.

So dumb it's fun!

Angus Young once said in an interview, "People keep saying we've made the same album 11 times or so. And really, they're lying. It's actually the 12th." This band was very self aware when it came to what they're doing. When I went to China for the first time, I picked up a bootleg copy of this record. I remember not being crazy about it and thinking I was missing something. I loved Back in Black. Why not this? You could say AC/DC songs were formulaic, but certain songs and albums still differentiate themselves. The thing is, if you're going to pick two AC/DC records to be on this record, you have to go with Back and Black and Powerage. This one is not in the same ballpark. BiB lives up to the hype. Powerage is like this record, but with way better guitar solos and songwriting. Harry compared it to Aftermath in that it's a huge hit with not much to back it up. It's better, but not by much. Shot Down in Flames kicks ass. Everything else I can live without.

I had kinda the same experience with this that I did with the Stones’ ‘Aftermath’. “Highway to Hell” got me really hyped and the rest just didn’t hit me in the same way. This album is much better than ‘Aftermath’ though. When I think of Classic Rock, AC/DC is the sound I hear in my head. The riffs and the drums are undeniable, they’ve written some of the best straight rock songs, but they’d do better than they do here on ‘Back in Black.’ “Touch Too Much” is done a disservice by “You Shook Me All Night Long” existing just a year later. 3.5

Another album by AC/DC that’s just a lot of fun. I would probably have given it 4 stars but it’s quite samey after a while, in truth, I’d like to be able to give it 3.5 stars but alas, that’s not possible. I would also question whether there needs to be two AC/DC albums on the list, and I’d be tempted to say that Back in Black should be the album to represent them.

its some classic rock.

Kinda found this to be fairly generic rock, but enjoyable generic rock nonetheless!

I was happy to get an album that I was at least somewhat familiar with today. I've had quite a few the last week or so that I didn't know at all. As everyone, I'm very familiar with the title track on this album, but I didn't really know a lot of the other songs. Very much what I know to be the "AC/DC sound". Classic album from a classic band.

Sometimes you just need to listen to the same song for 41 minutes

It was normal.

Just never been my band.

first listen HTH is a classic but the rest is kinda forgettable

Cult classic. Favourite track: Highway to Hell

A lot like Back In Black, but not as good. Title track fucking rules.

I feel like all songs are a variation of the same riff lol Well, it still rocks...

ACDC kuulostaa epäilyttävän paljon ACDC:ltä, en oo koskaan oikein ollu suurempi fani, peruskomppi ja mukavat riffit on aivan ok turvallista kuunneltavaa. Laulaja kuulostaa edelleen aina siltä että sillä ois TODELLA paha ummetus, 3/5

Album No. 0173 on my list. Ah, I had not listened to “Highway to Hell” for quite some time. I remembered a few songs (apart from the title track, of course), but was curious to dig into the whole thing again. From my early teenage past, I remembered that I didn’t like it as much as its successor (“Back In Black”). And what can I say? My memory was correct! “Highway To Hell” is inferior to “Back In Black”. That has partly to do with personal taste (I just don’t like Bon Scott’s voice that much and had always preferred Brian Johnson’s), but I also don’t thing that the songs on “Highway to Hell” really hold up in comparison. I mean, the title track is obviously beyond reproach, and there are some other solid tracks, especially “Shot Down In Flames”, and “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)”. The latter is probably Bon Scott at the peak of his abilities. I’ll add all of these songs to my playlist, but the rest of them doesn’t quite hold up. I think there is still a little bit of variety; in the late 70s, AC/DC seemed to be willing to explore some various creative ideas - compared to their later work where everything is much more uniform. Still, the resulting tracks feel rather mid to be honest. Not bad in any sense, just mid. 3/5 stars.

Just not really my thing

Rockslop

bom album, bom clássico, rock and roll!

My favorite track was Night Stalker. Overall, I enjoyed more of the bluesy rock sound. I really liked the lead singer, Bon Scott.

Title track is obviously great, but everything after feels very repetitive. I'd rather have just played Highway to Hell 10 times.

Obviously very iconic and it’s good I finally listened to it, but his voice was just a bit much. Awesome instrumentals and sound, but still just a high 3

Kinda realized all their songs sound the exact same. They’re still so classic though, I think I just prefer their other albums

Extremely one note, but that note is so fun. These guys have the crown for the most sound consistency over all their stuff. Which is surprising because they found a second singer that sounds like this lol

They really are one of our premier pure rock bands. Energy! Violence! Sex! Toe Tappers! "She liked it medium rare" made me laugh. Look out Prince, there's a new horniest m-fer on the block. I don't think there are enough heights here to get to a 4 but there isn't a lot to complain about either. 3.5

Classic. They had such an iconic sound. This album is quintessential to their style. The album itself is fine, though the songs get a bit repetitive. "Shot Down in Flames" was the favorite off this one, although the title track "Highway to Hell" is a timeless classic. A good album to jam out to every once in a while. RIP Bon Scott.

Solid rock & roll record

Last album with Bon Scott. Wasn't familiar with anything but the title track. Bangers: Walk All Over You, Beating Around the Bush

it's kind of kickass, but only for so long. after 30 minutes it all jumbles into a kitschy blob akin to KISS. yuck. sides A and B are both 4 star EPs, that together make a 3. 3.5

The perfect music to play at a sparsely attended semi-pro hockey game

Classic

I was surprised that I liked this as much as I did. Certainly not a genre that I listened to very much. The only thing that brought my rating down was the singer. I found his voice grating and made it difficult to listen to. Overall the songs were largely bangers and I enjoyed listening. I would definitely listen again, hence the score of 3. Not sure I would want to have it in my collection hence not a higher rating than 3. My current rubric is want to listen to again is a 3, want it in my collection is a 4, on heavy rotation is a 5. Ratings of 1 and 2 are things that I probably would not listen to again.

Entiendo el hype. Las guitarras hablan. Producción de 10. Mis favs Highway to hell, Shot Down in flames y Love hungry man. Sólido ✔️

Todas iguales las canciones pero esta entretenido

Mostly nostalgia but still solid

Good album. Fun ride.

ultimately not something i'd listen to on the daily, however there are elements on this record which i find really enjoyable. the guitar riffs bang

The significance of this album to the mainstream music scene is understandable, but most of their output fails to grip me. Still pretty good overall, I'd say.

ITs ok but a not my favorite kind of rock

5/10… hard rock / *1979

Thrashy

Are we gonna call this party rock? Party metal? A little dated feeling but that fella can sing within his range.

Decent Rock.

It's very AC/DC. More partial to Back in Black but Highway to Hell the song is great and the rest is what's expected.

Nothing wrong with it, very solid rock, but as an Aussie it’s overplayed to its detriment, that said, it’s popular for a reason.

this is just not my type or rock music, feels way too american to me, but objectively is good

Pub metal. Probably love this if you get into it when you're 17 in 1979 or so.

Songzeile: Oh, she had the face of an angel, smilin' with sin A body of Venus with arms Was will man mehr. "Venus hat keine... Arme und Beine".

Good album, a few hits buttressed by solid B-sides.

Meh, it's rock ok but quite repetitive rock at that.

Idk they all just kinda sound the same. 6.4/10

3.5 stars

Yeah, well, Bon Scott was a great vocalist, but I much prefer the later ACDC albums, as the songs just aren't there on this album - the notable exception, of course, being the title track. 3/5

I liked the lyrics and the style, but i'm not a fan of the way their voice sounds

What happens if, while on the Highway to Hell you want to get a snack? Are there rest stops along the way?

One of the iconic hard rock bands. Good music, hard rock band sound..

So much better than Back in Black. A bit more raw and much more fun. Bon Scott is missed! 3.5/5.

Culte mais sans surprise

Some solid headbangers from down under. The perfect music when you're 13 years old. But other than the title track and If You Want Blood (You've Got It) these don't reach the heights of AC/DC's other famous album that came after tragedy a year later.

Highway to Hell (the song) is a staple on my long drive playlist so it felt kind of wrong to be listening to it through headphones. Then the rest of the album also felt kind of wrong cause everything on here sounds the same.

Same, same, same. 3/5

tbh not my classic rock, led zeppelin does it better

This album kicks butt. I'm a fan of this sound and it's now iconic from games like THPS.

Never got the hype with them, all their songs sound the same

I liked the energy, definitely kind of repetitive. Need a few more listens to get into it.

Definitely good, I love the guitar riffs, but I find all of the songs too similar, probably because hard rock it's not my thing. Maybe on second listening I would enjoy this more.

a decent listen but lowkey every song sounded the same except for Love Hungry Man which had a funky little bassline

All the songs sound the same

AC/DC has always sounded very samey to me. Highway to Hell is great of course

got bored

3/10, 30%

I could make the obvious comment that all the songs sound the same, but that formula works. Favorite song is highway to hell and that could honestly be because I heard it first and then the rest of the songs blended together a bit. I also loved if you want blood & night prowler

ac/dc is fun but after awhile it's all very similar!

Very screamy. All songs sound nearly the same. Good beats.

Highway to Hell is a classic rock song. Hard to listen to entire album at once though

i’m going to be honest with you guys, i didn’t listen to this album i find AC/DC boring and i can’t find myself enjoying this one which is a hot take so im using my free pass to skip this one album but that’s it oka guys please understand.🙂

Yeah man this sure is AC/DC

Listens: 2 Standout Tracks: Highway to Hell, Night Prowler To be honest, if you've heard Back In Black (also on the List), you've also heard Highway To Hell, and vice versa. This album just has two less rocket-to-the-moon hits on it (but there are still a handful that have quite high play counts). It's not bad music, it just very quintessential, stereotypical rock music. You put this on for background music when you're in the shop or the garage, or drinking beers with your buddies on a summer day. There's nothing deep to contemplate; No hidden meanings (sexual innuendos aside) to ponder. It's just hard rock music.

Classic one but not really my taste

Got me through a stale elliptical session and still has some fire and bite. The horns are a nice touch

Enjoyed it. Bit middle of the road again. Could rock on to it. But not much stood out.

Classic. Just not always for me. Sad the best song is first on the album.

fire songs, nothing that’s really like WOAH but fun to listen to

Before metal they were a rock band with a better singer and real rockn roll songs

Pari hyvää biisiä

Better than I expected. And I actually prefer this over the Brian Johnson years. Still not my thing. Faves: Highway to Hell, Shot Down in Flames

Big riffs, big drums, high-pitched screeching. It's generic and formulaic, and it's pretty fun.

As a feminist, it deserves less than what I gave it. However, the guitar slaps. Musically gifted for sure.

Classic rock album, every track was enjoyable. Very iconic album cover. Touch too much is ontop for sure.

Good 3. Really cool!

bon scott over brian whathisface for sure but i can only really hang with the first two or three dc albums…

Solid rock n roll album. Widely known. Super consistent. Sonically great. The best one with Bon Scott, if not best overall release from AC/DC. 3.9/5.0

82/1001 These guys have some great songs. Some bands like the Eagles have a greatest hits album bigger than all their other albums. AC/DC seems like they would be one of those bands. A band that I enjoy when I hear them but almost never play them intentionally. 6/10

pretty good

decent ! lots of the songs sound the same ? wouldn’t replay any of the songs but if they came on randomly , i don’t think i’d skip?

This is a very cohesive sounding album - they found the sound they wanted, went with it, nailed it. Probably need a few more listens before it’s a favorite of mine though

It's a solid album, it has some groove but like with other stuff by AC/DC it's just not that groundbreaking for me. It doesn't speak to me. Hence solid three stars.

One of the original sings from the balls singers. Now I feel like this is dorky rock that has been super over played and lost its luster a bit. 6/10

Realistically a 3.5, fun to listen but doesn't particularly stand out.

Great guitar work but his voice can be a bit too much for me at times.

I wouldn’t change the station if the title track came on. The rest of the album doesn’t do much for me: sophomoric lyrics, repetitive vocals.

a classic rock album with an energy that helps get those dishes done!

I find AC/DC has great songs but listening to albums is a bit of more of the same. Drops it to a 3 because of that.

As Winston Wolf says, "If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor" - had four albums to catch up on today because of the holiday. I feel like this album deserves more commentary than I'm about to give it but I'm not really in the mood. I enjoyed AC/DC when I was younger but at some point it all started sounding the same to me. RIP Bon Scott.

It's a 3.5, The great songs ARE great but there is a Touch Too Much filler.

🥇touch too much 🥈highway to hell 🥉get it hot HM: girls got rhythm, shot down in flames, if you want blood (you’ve got it)

I wonder how much my daughter rated it....

Good to hear a Bon Scott AC/DC album on here, even if it was his last one. I guess "Highway to Hell" unintentionally ended up being a swan song in that case. Anyway, this probably gets overshadowed by AC/DC's next release due to all of the hits featured there, but the makings of a group about to explode internationally are heard here. Not really any mega-hits outside of the titular track, but the performances are competent enough, with party/sex-adjacent lyrics as expected from AC/DC.

HELL (pun intended) of an opening track Girls got Rhythm. Has got rhythm If you want Blood - rocker

It’s alr not bad

Not bad, added Night Prowler to my playlist.

A lot of the albums from late 70s sound very dated, but this one is fun.

Good for what it is

A solid and fun listen.

Was kinda disappointed when this was todays pick ngl. Really wanted a weird underground never heard before album but oh well. Went into with an open mind, felt nostalgic, took me back to my guitar classes in elementary school. But overall just white cishet rock. Aka: not for me🤷

sonically nice but a little boring. forgot i was listening to it and did other things a few times getting through it. 6.5/10

Pretty cool.

I like Bon Scott as a singer better than Brian Johnson, but Back in Black had a slightly better set of songs (or at least more songs that I already knew). We'll call this one a draw. (Really it's a slight edge to Highway to Hell, but not enough to bump it from a 3 to a 4.)

Never really saw the appeal. Never liked the singing, still don't. The music is good though.

I'm happy for the guys' success, just like I'm happy for the inventor of paper towels. It's a solid product, totally innovative (at the time), and really important that it exists, but if we're being honest, it's also so straight-forward that it almost feels offensive. 3.5/5

It's hard to look at this album in isolation given the legacy of AC/DC since it came out, and arena rock is a hard sell for me generally. That said, the rock and roll of it all is undeniable, and this record probably encapsulates peak AC/DC and is therefore well curated. Solid 3 stars.

Angus: “Right then boys, firstly thanks for making the time. Because, yeah, look. It does feel like time we had a talk.” Malcolm: “Beer?” Angus: “No, no; I’m not sure a beer is appropriate right now, thanks though.” Malcolm: “Ok if I have one, though?” Angus: “Yeah, or maybe no… just have a beer, mate. Sorry. Once I’ve said my piece you’ll see what I mean.” The room’s quiet but for a little shuffling around. Malcolm doesn’t stand to get a beer. Angus, recomposed: “We’ve had a bloody good time. Written records I’m so bloody proud of. A bloody good time. Everything changes though. You keep doing things the same way, something’s bound to change along the line. It’s just to be expected. Sydney feels a lifetime ago, the harbour, the smell of that…” Malcolm: “You getting to the point, Angus, mate?” Angus: “Sorry, sorry. This is hard to say.” Bon walks in. Ciggy on, shirt all but off. Bon: “Mind the dishevelment, fellas! Hot in here, ain’t it? What have I missed?” Malcolm: “Angus was telling us about the smell of Sydney Harbour again.” Bon, cackles: “What I wouldn’t give for a sniff of Fremantle!” All laugh. The room, though already cramped, breathes easier for Bon’s being there. It isn’t the first time Angus has gestured to creative furrows further afield than ACDC’s typical heartland. It’s the first time he’s called a meeting about it specifically, though. Angus: “I think we need to try something new.” Malcolm: “Oh, fuck me, Angus. First they make us get rid of George, now you’re back on this too? This is the label, isn’t it? They telling you to listen to Neil Young again?” Angus: “No, no. I got here on my own.” Bon: “Well why don’t you take us with you then, Angus, mate? Show us. If you’ve found somewhere new to take us; if everything we’ve built is just so much, fucking … dust…” Angus: “I never said that, Bon, that’s unfair…” Bon: “… then why don’t you show us.” Bon looks around the room, mock apologetically. Most avoid his gaze; Malcolm, scratching at his chin, catches him and stares back, eyebrow cocked accusatorially. Angus picks up his guitar, downtuned a semitone. His fingers form an A shape, a D shape, a G shape. It’s the first time the world’s heard what will become “Highway to Hell”. The room is quiet. No one shuffles. Bon: “Livin’ Easy. Lovin’ free.” Angus: “You always say that.” Bon: “I know mate, but I really mean it this time.”

Sure, this is basically the same song over and over. Yes, it's "Meathead rock" (apologies to Rob Reiner and his character from "All in the Family"). But, damn, when you have a song as good, crunchy, and perfect as "Highway to Hell" why mess with a good thing? The puerile, juvenile lyrics get old very quickly, though, over the course of an album. It's empty and it's ear candy, like a Big Mac meal for the ears and soul. And no one did it better.

I unfortunately don’t like the main singers voice. I saved Walk All Over You

pretty good made me feel tuff.

Guttastemning

I find AC/DC a bit samey

Only 1 stand out song. nothing good and nothing bad
