Pretty good album but I'm not into ACDC as much as I once was
I confess I am a beginner drummer and like AC/DC for their easy beats. This album didn't challenge on that front, but it had stronger instrumentation and variety than I was expecting. Some of the tracks like "Beating Around the Bush" were more up-tempo and "Night Prowler" was a rare slowed-down adventure for them. Overall, it's pretty canonical for the band, a breakthrough in terms of getting them into the mainstream.
Pretty Iconic, still hear a lot of this on the radio.

my goodness. no denying the catchiness of ac/dc's songs! that opening guitar riff to "highway to hell" is unmistakable and can bring a dead man back to life. ac/dc, in their last album with bon scott, is at the top of their game here. every song is so solid. the non-singles go just as hard as their hits. there, uh, is a certain topic that all songs here revolve around, to say it delicately. easy to figure out what was on their mind, just like all of the eighties bands who followed in ac/dc's footsteps. but the truth is despite the consistent subject matter, every song is a banger. i don't know how they made it work so well! scott's grizzly voice and the fact that each guitar, drums, bass are relentless, and mutt lange's producing, of course.

The title song is a classic of hard rock, and the rest of the album keeps the tone with no surprises or much deviance from the formula. I got a little weary by the end, but I thought it was overall very good at what it was doing.
I don't believe that I have ever listened to this album, and it sounded like i expected. It was fine, but a bit one-note to me. I suppose that if I am looking for some old school hard rock that this could be a go-to.
Rocked my socks off for the first half or so. Got a bit repetitive but still a good time for the most part.
The album is a little bit repetitive but has powerful music. I think that rock n' roll was never the same after AC/DC, which is a mark in musical history.

I'm not the demographic of dusty dad rock and rock-'n'-roll but this one had enough pizzazz to keep me interested.
Loved this. I had the Back in Black cassette in my car at all times but never strayed to some of the older stuff beyond the title track.
I enjoyed this. It was a bit samey, but a lot of fun.
I wanted blood. I got it.
Famously one-note band but this is their best even if it does get samey by the end of it.
Easily my favorite AC/DC album. I know some people don’t like how crisp Mutt Lange’s production sounded compared to their earlier releases, but I think that this shows off how talented the band is, and brings their sound to life. This is still the same band from before, but a little more mature. I wish we could have seen what they would have been like if Bon stayed alive. It’s funny though, as overplayed as the title track is, the rest of the album barely exists on classic rock radio. There are some choice cuts that deserve more spins, though. B+
Good grooves, 4 great tracks (title, Touch Too Much, Shot Down in Flames, If You Want Blood) but the rest is just solid. 4 Stars, but still gotta love the Bon Scott era of the band.

I’ve never been a huge classic rock fan but I really enjoyed this. The tone was perfect for what I was doing (traveling/working/running errands). The guitar is absolutely insane.
Highway to hell is an all-timer but the rest of the album is a standard AC/DC album: Ultra listenable, 70s rock
First time properly listening to ACDC but really enjoyed it.
This album hit the spot for me today. Maybe, I just needed a straight-forward rocker with most songs headed in one direction (don't go there). "Highway to Hell" is AC/DC's sixth and final album with lead singer Bon Scott. Evidently producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange had a major impact, influencing Bon Scott's vocals and Angus Young's guitar riffs. This a great album highlighted by Bon Scott's scratchy, screaming, raw vocals, the guitar interactions of the Young brothers and a rock solid rhythm section. The songs tend to fall in the sex, lust and partying categories. Imagine that. Scott said he wanted to loosen up the lyrics since he thought the previous album "Powerage" ones were too serious. "Highway to Hell" starts things off with an absolute classic guitar intro leading into Bon Scott's vocals. The meaning of the song is either being on the road touring for a lkng time or a horrible desert stretch of highway in Australia. Both work for me. "Girls Got Rhythm" might be my favorite song on the album with absolute killer rhythm guitar. "Walk Over You" is the most rockin song on the album and is some of the hardest music I've heard from this band. "Night Prowler" ends the album with a slower, dark song about a guy sneaking into his girlfriend's room. The song became famous or infamous for serial killer Richard Rodriguez's liking it. I had "Back in Black" a few months ago and I can't tell you which album I like better. Both have great high points and rock throughout, so....flip a coin and play one.

Solid rock album, with an incredible opening track
Classic album, amazing classic rock
AC/DC. Every album of theirs, to me, sounds like the previous album. It's an amazing thing. A friend of mine took me to one of their shows. Concerts you can clearly divide up into shows where you get drunk and shows where you get high. At least in shows where you get high, you kind of stay within your own personal bubble. Drunks kept bumping in to me. Swear to god, I was ready to throw one off the top level. During the show, they had the cameras focused on women basically egging them on to take their tops off. Which some of them did. It was very surreal. Anyway, anytime I listen to their stuff I cannot feel a progression, one album to the next. The only difference is going from Bon Scott to Brian Johnson. That's a big leap to Back In Black. But this is about Highway To Hell. Each of the songs here has that sloppiness, vocal-wise. Like the guy is half-drunk. That was the beauty of Scott. He sounded like that all the time, but he was always on. Even though the albums are same-y, the songs vary to some extent. They're not all exactly the same. And there are a few deep cuts I recognize, like "Night Prowler," which I have always liked. So I don't say I hate them, but I get bored easily by them is my point. One album, like this one is good. Good enough.
I feel like every AC/DC song I like (quite a few) is not overly complex but still rocks. Gotta give some credit to simple, smart arrangements. But can't be a 5 unless every song is a classic. Not this album. A few songs are great fun - Highway to Hell (still weird it's timing before Scott's death), Girls Got Rhythm, If You Want Blood. The rest are are pretty good (last song a bit meh). The start of Beating Around the Bush shows they do have some musical chops (at least Angus on guitar). If you like rock, you'll like it if not love it. But if you don't, I can understand if you wonder what the appeal is.

Comme l'a plutôt bien énoncé mon compagnon d'écoute et principal antagoniste eltrapeze, cet album n'a pas eu le même impact sur notre quotidien que celui précédemment généré. Alors que pendant la semaine suivant ce dernier, il nous était impossible de nous exprimer d'une autre façon que par de longs cris stridents, l'album Highway To Hell n'eut pour seul effet que de changer la hauteur de notre voix d'un simple octave, ne provoquant au passage aucune gêne chez nos interlocuteurs. Une copie à revoir.
C'est un tout petit 4 que viennent récolter le smembres du groupe AC/DC ici, cet album était extrêmement décevant. Pour tout vous dire, l'excellent album précédent de ce groupe m'avait contraint à passer de nombreuses heures à communiquer exclusivement par cris aigus. Celui ci ne m'a même pas causé une petite levée de voix. A retravailler

4/19/22 Very classic rock! Enjoyed the album a lot as a whole. No one song stood out to me as something I would want to add to my music specifically but I enjoyed the album and genuinely liked every song. Great guitar of course! Overall very enjoyable. I’m glad I finally listened to a full AC/DC album! Favorite song: Highway to Hell

I'm a big fan of this band and this album. Such fun rock music, to put it succinctly and ineloquently. Crank it up and rock it out! Dang, I love the Young brothers. Speaking of the Young brothers, interesting trivia that this album's appearance in my rotation made me remember to share here: in Dire Straits' 'Sultans Of Swing', the “Guitar George” and “Harry” who are mentioned in the lyrics are George Young and Harry Vanda, who were guitarists in the band The Easybeats. George Young is Malcolm and Angus Young's older brother, and Harry and George helped get AC/DC recorded.
I get why this is a classic now
I'm not a fan of classic rock, but I definitely like AC/DC more than most classic rock bands. This album was fun all the way through. Not crazy about the last song, but other than that, great album. Made me tap my feet and put me in a good mood, what more can you ask for?

The bad boys from down under take off with this album. There are some gems here. The title track is an SCC (Stone Cold Classic), Girls Got Rhythm and Touch too Much evoke the dirty AC/DC vibes wholeheartedly. AC/DC were nearing their peak writing around this album, depending on your point of view you might say this was the peak.

YES! Bon Scott last record with AC/DC, this is their magnum opus in my opinion. All of the fucking Bangerz are on this Jawn. Kind of the archetype for 80s hard rock, don’t know if that’s a bad thing or a good thing.
Hell yeah. I've listened to this many times before. I mean what do you expect? It's AC/DC. You know what you'll be getting. Is this the most intricate music every made? No. Will it rock you? Absolutely. This is just pure rock and roll and doesn't claim to be anything else. 4.5/5

I've historically not got on with AC/DC and now this is my second album by them within a week, and you know what? It didn't suck! Maybe it's like acquiring the taste of olives or other pungent flavors, and you need to be exposed on a certain number of unique occasions, I dunno. Anyway, that was a fun enough listen, and I didn't find the vocals too grating. Fave track - "Highway to Hell", by a mile. Which reinforces my olive theory, as it's been featured in so many soundtracks...
Crunchy classic screamy rock and roll. Read that Angus regretted Get it Hot, and I can see why. Fun. Not something I listen to on the reg, but definitely fun.

Listened Before (in entirety)? N Pros: Nice, peppy, rocking listen. Not too long. This must have been wild to hear in the 70s. It's HEAVY rock (probably not quite metal by today's standards). Highlights: Girl's got Rythmn, Beating around the Bush has a GREAT main riff. Night Prowler was a great surprise! Guitars were spot-on (I'm a sucker for blues licks), Bonn's voice doesn't really lend itself to blues, but the riffs and solos more than make up for it. It's easy to see why AC/DC are considered an influence by so many later bands. This was a good intro to their pre-Brian Johnson days. Cons: It's a shame that I started this album by skipping track 1. Highway to Hell is probably one of the greatest hard rock songs of all time.... unless you listen to hard rock or classic rock radio. It's so overplayed in my world that I could go without ever hearing it again. As expected, the lyrics of the album are overtly sexual. It's fine, just not what I choose usually. AC/DC may be a 3 chord band but they know how to make the blood rush and necks sore. Wall to wall pub rock with classic guitar solos and riffs along with some really great lyrics from Bon Scott (Touch Too Much for example). Admittedly it isn't the most deep, sophisticated or intelligent album by a mile, but it's honest good fun to rock out with. Highway to Hell is a classic Aussie album and the majority of songs on it are great (not so much Get It Hot or Love Hungry Man).

This is a classic rock album
I really love this album: it's a blast of energy that really reminds me of my adolescence - interestingly enough, back then I thought that I was going to remember Blink-182 and Green Day as the soundtrack of my adolescence, and now I think of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. This unconstrained energy and impact that AC/DC can channel through this record, as well as the very explicit sex theme, are really enjoyable and a ton of fun. But, because there was going to be a "but", the problem with this album is that it gets a bit repetitive. Still, there are many great tracks such as "Touch too much" and "Night prowler" that are worth checking out.

Thought I’d know a few more on it, but only a couple. very driven album, would probably grow on me with more listens. Highly expected to whale after Scott’s death, the band have gone on well.
Fantastic classic hard rock with all the usual fixins. Powerful guitar riffs, high energy vocals, and banging drums abound. If you know one AC/DC song, it's "Highway to Hell", and for very good reason. My primary complaint with the album is that it runs just a little bit too long and the songs start to all sound the same. It's a minor criticism and if I could give it four and a half stars, I would.

Ok I'm not a fan, but the first two songs are great! The next song is great too, but at 5:10 way too long. These boys should know any song longer than 3:30 is just too long. But I'm going to have to concede 4 stars to these hard-drinking, hard-rocking nut boys. What saves it for me is the guitar histrionics rarely descend to wankery and the riffs are impressively HARD and accessible. Closer to sex pistols than to Van Halen... I had no idea. 4 🌟

I’ve cooled a bit on AC/DC over the years but this album rocks. Power vocals, timeless lyrics and killer instrumentation. This was one of the first albums I owned and it’s held up well.
Jag har tidigare avfärdat AC/DC som ett tråkigt gubbrockband. Men jag inser att när jag lyssnar på skivan att jag har ganska kul. Texterna är ganska korkade, jag är rätt säker på att det är samma trumkomp i alla låtar, men på något sätt känner jag att jag vill ta en öl och skråla med. Trevlig skrevrock.

Of course, Highway to Hell is the final album AC/DC recorded with Bon Scott, the lead singer who provided the group with a fair share of its signature sleaze... AC/DC has never sounded so enormous, and they've never had such great songs, and they had never delivered an album as singularly bone-crunching or classic as this until now.

With a band like AC/DC, which is really basic rock 'n roll, you can't dun them for not being more sophisticated. That wouldn't be fair. You have to evaluate them on how well they execute their concept. You need riffs which intersect with the vocals in ways that provide forward momentum to the tunes. AC/DC does this very well. Since you're going for basic, you have to make your point and get out--no long tunes, no extended solos. Check. You have to keep the proceedings high energy--check. The production has to be dirty enough to provide grit, but clean enough to put the tunes across--check. And it helps if you come up with choruses that beg to be sung along with. The title cut obviously qualifies. But even on the deeper album cuts, the band never lets up on energy or professionalism. AC/DC may not be breaking any new ground here, but they are very, very good at what they do. (It actually surprised me a bit that this band was famous for partying and substance abuse, considering how precise they are in the studio.)But I would be lying if I neglected to say I was bored halfway through. Okay, the hell with it. I'm going to break my own rule and subtract a point for lack of ambition. If it helps for fans of AC/DC, this is a perfectly performed and recorded album. If I was evaluating it on that basis alone, Highway To Hell would be an easy 5/5.

Redefining heavy metal with both style and substance
4/5 It's a great album for what it proposes to do, I really like it. Special attention to the three first tracks (Highway to Hell; Girls Got Rhythm and Walk All Over you) and to the last one (Night Prowler) as well. The middle songs are somewhat forgotten because of the power of the first ones but it doesn't make them bad, just not as attractive I guess. It was a good experience and I'll definitely listen to it again.

AC/DC en su punto. Highway es Highway no y no hay más qué decir. Girl's Got Rhythm mantiene la tónica y Walk All Over You disminuye el tempo para retomarlo al final. Touch y Beating continúan entregando poder y después llega un pequeño bache con Shot Down in Flames y Get It Hot. Afortunadamente dura poco, 5 minutos entre las dos para llegar a la maravillosa If You Want Blood que aún no entiendo como no fue single (en lugar de Girl's Got Rhythym). Love Hungry Man vuelve a bajar el ritmo para preparar la salida con la bluseada Night Prowler para cerrar un gran, gran disco. Las letras son claras y puntuales, no hay tiempo para muchas interpretaciones. La voz de Bon resuena por todo el disco y los solos de Young quedan perfecto en cada canción. Pura energía. Songs: Highway To Hell, If You Want Blood, Touch Too Much, Night Prowler.

Sans surprise
It is AC/DC. Nothing more, nothing less. Variations on a theme, which depending on your view, is either a great strength or a fundamental weakness. I don’t mind it in small doses and this was just about the right length to qualify as a small dose.
It’s dumb and to the point but I can’t deny that it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It gets a little tiresome having a whole album of what feels like rehashes of the same idea but in short doses it’s alright.
It's a great album with some standout tracks like highway to he'll. After a while though his voice grates on me and it all sounds a bit repetitive.
As a true blue Aussie I feel obliged to give this a 5 but alas I cannot. I love a few AC/DC songs, Back In Black being the #1. Highway to Hell kicks this album off nicely but i feel the rest of the album falls flat.
There’s not much to critique. Bon Scott has an amazing voice and all the tracks feel like quality work. But it’s just hard to connect with anything beyond the singles I’ve already heard. Feels like the same track every time with Minimal difference.
I understand the sentiment that all ACDC songs sound the same. As a rock fan, I can't hate the album, but there are better out there, specifically better ACDC albums which have more of a place on this list than this one does. I was tempted to give it a 4 for highway to hell and touch too much, but then I thought of their back in black album and realised this was a solid 3.

Sounds like a really mellow AC/DC album. The title track stands on its own, but everything that follows just felt less intense than the bands previous releases. I definitely enjoyed it, I love this kind of music, but it wasn’t their best.

Enjoyed it but it is too repetitive
I used to be obsessed with AC/DC as a kid. They’re still a good time and I can enjoy this, but they’re definitely not the gods I once held them as. Highway to Hell is fun, much like the rest of their back catalogue, but they definitely found a winning formula and never strayed from it, a sort of classic rock Coldplay if you will. Fair play to them cause it’s worked given just how long they’ve stuck around and being on top of their game, but now I’ve gotten older and my tastes have expanded, I can definitely see the flaws. That said, a special shout out to Malcolm Young, in AC/DC he obviously takes a backseat roll compared to Angus, but listening to this now as an older, more experienced guitar player myself, his rhythm work is ridiculously tight, an incredibly understated guitarist, sad that he left us so early.
One of the classic rock and roll albums of my generation. Blasted it in my dorm room in college. Fortunately, I've moved on from it, but enjoyed listening to it.

It's Highway to Hell. Highway to Hell is an all time song. Everything else on the album is a worse version of that. Still, it's an AC/DC album so the whole thing is fun.
Fun album, but I have the "every song sounds kinda the same" problem with a lot of AC/DC. The sound is still good, and there are some good bops, but I just want to hear a greater variety of sound.

Does rock music get any more basic than this? Straight up dad-rock; 4/4 time, chunky guitar riffs and thinly-veiled double entendres all the way. I don't dislike it - Highway to Hell is a classic for a reason - on the other hand the constant nudge-wink song titles got a bit tiresome after a while. It's fine, it is what it is really. And I have to admit nobody does it better than AC/DC.
I accidentally listened to Back in Black instead of Highway to Hell, so then I had to listen to them both back to back. Highway to Hell is the better album.
I liked reading one persons review on this. To paraphrase it in my own words, “AC/DC is like eating a tub of chocolate ice cream. You know what you’re getting, it’s exactly the same every time, and yet it’s still enjoyable” Yeah that pretty much sums up this album. Good album though, terrific guitars as you’d expect from them.

Brings me back to listening to rock radio stations in the 80s and 90s when AC/DC was on constant play. I like the hit songs, but the deeper tracks all start to sound the same. They had a very specific formula for sure.
Hard Rock is one of my least favorite genres, usually I just can’t stand it. This I also did not love but need to admit that this catched me somehow mid album and I did really like night prowler

Never been a big fan of AC/DC and this album didn't change my opinion much. A lot of the same, but there are a couple of big hitters here that are fun to hear in their original context. Night Prowler really surprised me. Refreshingly different from typical AC/DC despite grim subject matter.

Only highway to hell that was something I'd listen to again, the rest were interesting but now sound rather dated.
I felt like I went through the entire album without noticing. Not that the songs are all the same but they all are very similar in style, no doubt. It made me good company but didn't strike me any strong feelings.

Highway to Hell (the song) absolutely slaps, but the rest of the songs felt like fun but worse versions of it. I am amazed how much I can still enjoy AC/DC'S songs with the vocals of a screeching cat, so that counts for something.

Hadn't listened to this before other than the title track; not really surprised to find the rest of the album is pretty much 10 more "Highway to Hell"s, lol. Fine, but I'll probably just go with the hits if I want to listen to them.
It was pretty good. Very standard rock album some tracks stood out to me some blended in with the rest . I’m not a rock fan but it was an okay listen nothing to special though for me.

ac/dc are one of the bands that got me into rock, but now that im listening to this album back to back, i think it's just suitable for when im in a mood for some good ol noise, but now that my taste has developed to more than just rock, i think listening to such a loud album is a little hard for me, but still a great one.

This record is not bad. AC/DC really took the heavy out of heavy metal. It’s big noisy somewhat juvenile arena rock. The guitar playing is good. I think I might actually like it with different vocals. As it is, it’s just okay.
The career-defining album from the world's greatest bar band. AC/DC will never make any claims to being a thinking man's band, but Bon Scott's edition of the group had a sly wit to them that was completely lost by the time they did a couple of albums with Brian Johnson. Highway to Hell has easily some of their best material, even beyond the mega-hit and immortal rock radio staple that is the title track. Even the lesser singles like "Girl's Got Rhythm" have this incredibly jaunty and fun quality to them. The deeper cuts though, don't really do anything for me. One thing is for sure though: Brian Johnson's boneheaded edition of the band would never write songs with as many layers as "Night Prowler," a song that famously incited controversy when a murder suspect was quoted saying it was his favourite song by the band. That amazing closer aside, the blues power chords do wear thin on some of the lesser played songs, and Scott's voice is keening and can certainly get grating after a while, but you just have to think of it as a small intimate club performance but expanded to arena size scales. The album is also an incredibly succinct 41 minutes, and not one of the songs overstays its welcome by any stretch of the imagination. This is among the best hard rock of its era, and if AC/DC's name wasn't fully associated with the lewd old man Brian Johnson era, this would be respected a whole lot more for its immense wit and timeless rock and roll appeal. A fun listen but nothing of substance
So I think this one would have always been kind of an uphill battle for me: I'm not huge on hard rock on the best of days, and from what I've heard from AC/DC, they're not exactly one of my favorites of the genre. And yeah, after a full listen this is good, but I still don't really see anything special about it, even if I do think the first and last tracks are both genuinely excellent. So yeah, good but not exactly what I'd call great and not really something I think I'll go back to very much.

This is where I admit that I started this project once before and abandoned it. The first time I listened to this album all the way through was at the very beginning of that run. I still get the hype, but it's still not really my thing.

For a long time, I wrote off AC/DC as a pretty basic band. Drums and bass are about as straightforward as you can get, and the vocals (whether by Bon Scott or Brian Johnson) aren't anything that really appeals to me. But with a full listen to this album, I finally realized that the Young brothers are pretty damn fine guitarists. Great riffs, strong solos, and general top-notch work. It gets a little repetitive after a while, but they deserve more credit than I've been giving them.

Aside from the title track "Walk all over you" is the only really memorable track. That one is my favourite on there. Singer is annoying at times and too many tracks sound similar, but it is overall pretty good. Better than i had expected.

Highway to Hell the song is awesome - the rest are pretty forgettable. In Back in Black they really figured out how to make every song very clearly sexual - here they are playing in the area of sexuality in vague confusing ways. Beating Around the Bush should be such a lay-up and it's weirdly a breakup song? Where is the fucking! Also hate to say it but I think Kiss's album from 3 years earlier did this same style a little better.

Yeah really good album, maybe the best AC/DC album?
I ranked this one just under Back in Black. I know the “real” AC/DC fans prefer Bon Scott to Brian Johnson, and I do too. Bon is more mischievous and maniacal than Johnson’s one note leather-lung belting. The band does sound a bit more lowdown here than the mega production of Back in Black. But… After the terrific pair of songs to open the album, I couldn’t find a song that fully enthralled me. “Walk Over You” and “Talk Too Much” were both marred by choruses that sounded like bad 1980s metal as the group chanted in anthemic style. “Night Prowler” showed the band’s limitations as they cannot come up with the lyrics, a riff nor a dramatic arrangement to pull off this ode to “Midnight Rambler.” “Shot Down in Flames” and “If You Want Blood” come close to top notch songs. Both take a bit to get going, but include enough whiplash thrash to offer some head-banging fun. These two, and “The Girl’s Got Rhythm" lend support to the pro-Bon Scott camp as they have the lean fire that the band never recaptured after his death. Only a few other bands can deliver the pure jolt of AC/DC. When they find that innate sense of the pocket, they take you on quite a ride. When they lack that jolt, they cannot tap into other ways to pull songs from mediocrity. Cut by cut this is an uneven record, not a classic.

AC/DC - highway to hell Good fun in a meat n potatoes bluesy pub rock way. Lyrics were mostly about shagging, or not getting shagged. Enjoyed it but won’t be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pretty good, but I just listened to "Back in Black" a couple days ago and I liked that one better. (Admittedly, that might be just because I listened to it first and this one felt pretty similar to it, but oh well, so be it.) It got four stars, so this one gets three.

I have never really listened to AC/DC besides to Back in Black for a short period as a teenager. Thirty years later, I wouldn't expect I could bear such a plain and quintessential rock. Surprisingly enough, I did and actually enjoyed it (although this album is not quite as catchy as Back in Black).
Ok it not that I didn't enjoy this, it's just... So repetitive. It's just highway to hell over and over again. That's a great song, so it can take you pretty far, but .. idk. I got kind of bored.
AC/DC is a killer band to me, with some real bangers to their name. But if it wasn’t for ‘Highway To Hell’, this album wouldn’t have caught an eye. Everything about the production of this album is good though. It sounds great, guitar is on point, and Brian’s singing is unique and great. But the songs sounds very much the same, and you recognize some reoccurring elements and stems in them. And they’re not particularly catchy always, sadly. Not AC/DCs strongest record.
The crunchy guitar sound and great intro of Highway to Hell promises you a great rock album – and for the first song it actually delivers. Highway to Hell is such crazy simple fun. The rest of the album failed to deliver and it quickly turned to generic rock. It’s too bad that the album failed to deliver, I was so hyped after the first track and even more so after giving Back to Black a 5 star revie. This one lands on a 3 star.

3/5. It's a classic for a reason. They made the same album many, many times but they got it the most right on either this or Dirty Deeds. Bon is obviously much more tolerable and fun vocally. When I was about 10 I dropped my walkman into Lake Powell which had my dad's cassette copy of this in it. And thinking back to that, this was a 5/5 when I was 10 years old.

Ik weet niet of ik het mag zeggen, maar de stap van Bon Jovi naar dit is eigenlijk niet zo heel groot volgens mij. Toch kan ik dit beter hebben. Zoals ik bij een ander album al noteerde: Ze vallen onder m'n gedoogbeleid. Als ik heel eerlijk ben vind ik ook AC/DC niet super geweldig hoor, dus wat dat betreft ga ik mezelf nu niet te ongeloofwaardig maken. Het album begint met de grootste hit en daarna krijg je nog 9 nummers die grofweg allemaal een beetje hetzelfde zijn. Of ze zijn wel verschillend maar maken individueel niet echt indruk, dat zou ook kunnen. Ik gaf het andere album 4 sterren, ik denk dat ik er nu één meer op zak hou. 3 sterren dus.

This album is the embodiment of nostalgia. When I listen to this, I remember the times that me and my friends were riding in my ‘68 Firebird throughout the summer of ‘79 causing havoc wherever we went. I wasn’t even born then, but I definitely feel like I should remember that when listening to this album! Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the vibe this album gives me.
It was alright, very repetitive and I'm not a fan of Angus Youngs voice but by god can these guys write a guitar solo.
Hard Rock Favorite Songs: Highway to Hell, Girl’s Got Rhythm Least Favorite Song: Honestly, they all sound the same, so let’s go with…Night Prowler, I guess? While the album sounds so professionally and the lyrics are fine in my opinion, I don’t think that I would want to sit down and listen to the entire album all the way through. While I can handle the band’s same kind of discography in small doses via if I put the songs on shuffle, I will get bored very easily if I ever decide to listen to the full album. This is due to hearing about the fans saying that they use the same three chord progressions at different keys, and while it’s fine that the song structure can sound a bit samey or basic, it’s more so that I don’t want to physically own the album and pop it in a CD or vinyl player. 6/10

If you ever get a job washing dishes in a restaurant, put this album in the tape player and the night will fly by. The chef might even make you something special when the shift is over.
While my appetite for listening to this, go pleasure, is limited, I nonetheless enjoyed the album and appreciate it for what it is: good rock music. Probably good to run to, or similar
This is the first AC/DC album I've listened to start to finish and it's a solid one. I like AC/DC more than I realized based just on the odd random hit I've heard over the years. This album rocks.
I enjoyed listening to this album while driving. I was only familiar with the title track but found I enjoyed a couple of the riffs and beats. I doubt I’d buy this or recommend to a friend though. 3/5.

Cool album
AC/DC perfected their craft. It may be simple, but there's some really catchy songs on this album. As a rock and metal enthusiast, you'd think I'd like this more but their simplicity has bored me more often than it's entertained me.

Pretty good, I think I crap on AC/DC a bit too much because they were never able to make anything new after the death of Bon Scott. This and some of the previous albums are much better than I give them credit for because all of the later albums just sound like discarded demos from the original three projects that brought them their fame, and it made me just tired of the sound in general.

Levyn puolivälin jälkeen alko vähän kyllästyttää, miten kaikki biisit on neljää sointua, peruskomppia ja boomerbend-kitarasooloja, mutta ei voi varsinaisesti sanoa, että biisien taso huomattavasti laskis, vähän vaa kyllästyy. Hauska on hyvä sana kuvaamaa tätä levyä, mutta jossain kohtaa kaikki biisit alkaa vaa kuulostaa samalta ja tylsiltä.
I don't really like the contemporaries of AC/DC. Cock rock never really did it for me except for what these guys produced. I hear the music, and I think about those guys who like to talk big but when it comes down to it they're kinda himbos and just big softies and are all shy and silly. I don't know why I think this. It's completely illogical. I like both lead singers of AC/DC. Why are we always comparing them and picking a better one? They can just be different y'all.

AC/DC is a strange band that somehow manages to create at least one really great song per album that becomes an all time classic. And then proceed to spend the rest of their albums creating simple generic rock songs that are so hard to hate and also love they just kind of exist.
