+1 for the weird story
Nice listen even if Radiohead gets a lil weird on this one.

What a banger. Nice to revisit it after so much time.
Kinda fun, kinda boring. Too long.
Not available anywhere online?
Not at all what I expected from Alice cooper
Liked this more than I thought. Good listen.
Too old school
Good tunes, not my fav style
I just don't like wilco
Had about enough 80s. No disrespect to Cohen it's a fine production.
Never years of these dudes. Maybe not a 4* album but rates higher for the discovery.
Weird good listen
Weird
Weird classic
Overlooked this back in the day. Extra star for 90s rock
Sounds of the 90s. Better left as a memory
Ok vibes
Beatles have weird tunes
Fun listen.
Classic county. Wanted something a little more exciting today, it's good tunes.
Is the album chooser going through a breakup? Debbie downer picks.
This is boring 80s love ballads.
Not her best but it's decent
Good vibes
Enjoyed this. Maybe not 4*, better than 3
Somewhere between 3 and 4
Way better than I thought
Oasis but no
Only half available on Spotify
Pretty cool. Not quite a 4 but better than 3
Almost a 5 I guess
I don't like these guys
Some of it is bad Beatles, some of it is awesome tho
3 cause it's Ray Charles. Boring.
Great Christmas album
This one is the 4, # of the Beast is 3, mixed up
Eat a dick Kanye
Talented but dated
3 may be a bit generous. Talented artist. Mediocre lyrics/melodies.
Not really my jam
Fine album just not my thing
Good cover of Mrs Robinson, rest is ok
Fun one
Not available on Spotify. 1 song was pretty good
Good album, not my thing
Wtf?
Surprisingly good, will listen again
Good but other Hendrix albums are better
Very weird
Never really listened to Jethro Tull before. Great stuff
Weird
Good shit
Solid album.
Weird stuff.
Not on spotify
One of the better Beatles albums
Not on spotify
Nice to see variety here but holy shit, slipknot? A very acquired taste and I like metal.
Old school cool
Early Ozzy, shockingly good!
Weird
Boring
What a fuckin baller album. Great memories.
Worst thing I've ever heard
Talented but not my thing
Dunno what this is. Atmospheric?
Fav!
Only a few songs on Spotify
Weird lyrics, good voice
Weird

Bad 80s.
+1 for the weird story
I dunno what I expected but this mellowness wasn't it
This wouldn't have even registered if they were not from the UK
Not what I thought my bloody Valentine was about. Good atmosphere
Wtf
Aged well
Weird but in a fun tom waits way
I have no idea wtf I just listened to. Weird shit and not in a good way.
Not available
Very 80s
Some bits are 4+. Some don't even deserve a 1. 3 is generous.
Not available on Spotify
Considered rating it higher cause it's the who but the more I listened I couldn't do it. Boring album. Sounds like 60s brit pop.
Gorillaz vibe. Very nice surprise
Glad I missed this in 95
Better forgotten 80s
Really nice after the 80s pop
Goddamn bjork is weird
Not bad, just boring
No one would give a shit if she wasn't Beyonce's sister
This is atrocious.
Soft 4, better than average but let's not get crazy
I really enjoyed this one and the rest of their catalogue. Nice vibe.
I don't get the hype with Beck. Its fine.
Someone accused me of playing elevator music in the office
Not as good as monster
Weird but not bad?
I respect ACDC but not really my jam
Highs and lows here
Some big hits, the rest of the album is more folksy fun tho
So much terrible 80s brit pop on this generator
Starts slow, great through the end
I don't like giving 3s but Morrissey is the quintessential 3
Nah
1 banger, 9x ???
Really enjoyed this one
Weird stuff
Why is there so much weird stuff?!
Love Sleater Kinney. Maybe not a 5 star album but all, but I can get it.
Maybe not their finest album but I always enjoy it. Speaks to some of the weird things you get with Pink Floyd off the beaten path.
Nirvana did it better, but this album is great and worth a listen!
Tom Waits is a national treasure.
Nah
I guess the tunes aren't bad but I'm in stark disagreement that this belongs on any curated best of style albums list. I don't understand why I'm listening to this.
Among the best of all time. Great listen!
Impressive album!
Really fun listen on this one. Some classics and the whole thing really cements why Rush is so well regarded.
Wasn't great in 2000 and only improved marginally from nostalgia. Rollin is still a hell of a ride. Not a lot else to talk about on this one.
Modestly successful brit rock. Again. I mean it's not bad but hardly must hear before I die.
Some serious 80s brit pop bias on these albums.
Not my fav but respect to the guys who were there first with rap. Not a bad album for the old stuff!
Full of radio hits but I don't personally really like U2 or this album.
Wish it was longer! Good stuff.
There's a few bangers on here and the rest of the album is pretty cool. I wanted to give it 5 but it's not quite there. 4+!
No notes. What a ride.
Soft 4 but I respect the sound these guys were generating in the mid 70's. Not everything in there works but its a fun listen. Lots of bands that sound like this later on.
This was among the first things I picked up off Napster back in the day and its still a good time. 4 for the nostalgia!
I dont understand the UK obsession with PJ Harvey.
What even is this!?
This was better than I expected. Soft 4.
What an interesting album.
Didn't love it. It's not bad it's just not all that exciting.
I was not in the mood for this saccharine stuff today. Beach Boys were so prolific back in the day and you gotta sift through a mountain of stuff that hasn't aged well to find the gems. Stick to the greatest hits albums!
I was expecting this to be consistent with a 1 hit wonder album but ended up enjoying most of it. Deserves better than 1 song with 160m plays and none of the others crack 1 mil.
Put me to sleep.
It's a fun 1 hit. The album as a whole is good but wouldn't make my top 1000 cut.
Temu Daft Punk. What the hell did I just listen to?!
What a great jam.
Saw em live opening for Tool. It was probably not the right place for this band to be performing in the 2020s and didn't go over well with the arena rock fans. In a smaller, grimier venue, especially in their prime, they would be awesome. Good album overall.
Relentlessly playing on soft rock stations your parents probably enjoy at the office.
Nice listen even if Radiohead gets a lil weird on this one.
Had this disc back in the day. It holds up pretty well! There's a lot of fun tracks on this one and it's kinda too bad they didn't enjoy more enduring success.
I don't think this is the most groundbreaking stuff but I really enjoy the Malian regional sounds.
Anytime I see the description is 'debut studio album by English <extremely niche musical style> band' and the most listened to song is like 500k I am extremely skeptical. This is far from being top 1000 worthy!
Objectively a great album but I couldn't get into it.
I dunno why this is speaking to me today but I enjoyed it start to finish. Old school cool for sure!
Enjoyed this way more than I thought. Some funky sounds and good variety of styles in one record!
Fun experiment album!
Good overall. Seems very vanilla to me.
I think the Everly Bros. writ large have made some good, interesting music in their prime but as a standalone album I don't think this one is particularly notable. I'd give the artist a 4/5 but this sample not so much.
One song with 100m streams and most of the others under 100k. Still an enjoyable listen and I was pleasantly surprised.
Dunno what I expected but this wasn't it. Not a bad country album.
Cool album! The hits are great, the rest are too.
Maybe a little ahead of its time. This 'album' might come up nicely on Spotify but other music services don't have it. I had to find each song individually. Some interesting sounds in there.
Debut new age album....nope. Except "Cars" that's a cool song.
I've never been a regular NIN listener but always held them in high regard. I think this is my first full listen of this one, and it's not as good as I wanted em to be. Still worthy, just not a 5* experience!
Aged really well compared to the rest of the shit coming out of the early 80s.
I like French music but this not so much.
This album is decent but I'm not sure why it was selected for a list like this. Enjoyable listen I guess.
What a breath of fresh air. This record holds up really well!
Soft 4.
It's fine but nothing amazing. Just another decent 70s era singer/songwriter record. This would go on a giant stack of similar indie records today.
Definitely elevated by the name. There's some good stuff here but context is key.
Undeniably amazing voice when it's fully used. Hope she has a long career and continues to diverge from the Top 40 pop and into more artistic performances.
I was a little young to appreciate this at the time but it sounds great and clearly helped paved the way for a larger alt/grunge sound to follow through the 90s. Great listen!
Really torn on this one. I try not to rate 3s because it's a cop out. Most times its not to hard to grade it 2 or 4 overall but this one has songs all over the place. For 1995 it's not quite a genre busting or novel record, but it has its moments. I think this one is saved by Martina Topley-Bird's collab, the best songs feature her at her best!
I don't think this album as a whole is particularly notable aside from the fact it made Britney a global commodity, largely on the back of one music video. It's manufactured bubblegum pop and reflective of what sold records at the time, nothing more.
Needed this today. What a great record.
I enjoy Fatboy Slim and wanted to give this a good score. As a debut it's good but lets face it none of these tracks are his best work or the reason he's famous.
Pretty rough but ok for early in their career and the state of music in the 80s. Not nearly as good as Goo imo, which I saw 5 days ago!
There's some really good tracks here. Unfortunately they've also cut in some 90's electro pop synth overlays. Overall a decent listen. They've tried to integrate a lot of different sounds on the back of the Indian instruments. Sometimes it works, others less so.
First half is a snooze. Second is pretty good. I hate doing 3s but sometimes it fits.
Usually when I see an unknown artist on here it checks certain boxes: British, prime Gen X musical era, minimal plays...and I jump to certain conclusions. This album is great! British, minimal plays, but currently touring and the album is from within the last decade! Amazing. Some of these songs really resonate and I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. I'm disappointed she's not big enough to be touring the North America Folk Fest scene!
70s drugs rock.
This is not good.
Boys and Girls is a great throwback. The rest of this album is missing that same energy and vibe. I want it to be better but it's being carried hard by the big single.
Enjoyable if not dated record. This style of music has faded with time but it's an enjoyable listen all the same.
Several of these sound like sitcom themes from the 80s. Pretty good album. The style is firmly rooted in time and aged well in this case!
Oh good, more obscure 80s britpop! -No One Ever "Sowing the seeds of discontent//I know you very well, you are unbearable" -Albatross
Country is criminally underrepresented on this list. This album wouldn't be my choice but it's a good example all the same.
The Kinks have pumped out a lot of cool tunes over their run. Unfortunately for us none of them appear on this album.
I love Manu Chao's sound. This album makes me emotional every time and it's a go to when I just want to tune out the world. Helps if you speak french and/or spanish.
I liked it but also hated it. I don't know what to make of this.
Old school speed metal has never really been my thing but it's a good album!
Gospel vibes. Fun music even when I can't understand the words the intent is clear!
