100 ALBUMS BABY, LETS GO! Anyways, The Wall was quite an interesting album to say the least and it managed to be pretty good as well. I did like how the songs seamlessly transitioned into one another and that the album used itself to tell a story (especially towards the end). The best songs were mostly in the the first half while the second half was a bit less memorable. I still think the album is good and is worthy of being my 100th album. Best Song: Young Lust Worst Song: Mother
Not the biggest Pink Floyd fan but enjoyed a certain amount
The Floyd album I've listened to the most as a teenager, and the album I've tired of the most.
Overall, the album is fine. Side 3 is the best.
Steve describes this as a 'concept album disappeared up its own arse'!
I don't get it. The music is fine, but my habit of not listening to lyrics has barred me from understand this album and its reason for existing.
Will check it out
But om the weird side, still liked it, wasn't a fan of songs ending out-of nowhere
I’m gonna have to give this one a 3 I dont think I’ll be listening to this one again. I think most of their albums are better. I HATE rock operas thats mostly why. It sounds amazing and there are many good sections, whole songs, but I just cant put it up to 4 stars. It’s overrated and way too long
Surprisingly boring except for Brick in the Wall
I don't like Pink Floyd. I hate rock operas. And yet I am shocked at how much I enjoyed this, despite dragging in the back half - I can't fault every rap album on this list for length without acknowledging it here. Maybe every difficult concept album should get a detailed Wikipedia plot summary.
Apparently this is one of the highest rated albums ever. Either those people really love rock or are understanding this in a way more intellectual way than I am. I get that there's a story behind all the lyrics but honestly I had a hard time understanding it without having the Wikipedia summary open. Probably need a few more listens through to fully "get it". This is also definitely one of those albums critics praise for being coherent because of the story and the fact that a lot of the songs start to blend into each other in your mind after a while. Setting that aside the music was nice, but I found that I was enjoying the instrumental interludes within the songs much more than the singing. Comfortably Numb will always be great, and was the only song off this album I had heard before. Favourites: Comfortably Numb, The Doctor (Comfortably Numb), Hey You, Nobody Home, Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2, The Trial, Run Like Hell, and any other track with an instrumental solo (can't remember). Safe to say Disc 2 carries my rating. 3, sorry I'm not intellectual enough to rate higher but I do think rock operas are cool
First time listening all the way through on this album. Definitely will add into the rotation
1- In the Flesh? ✅ So great, love the rocket ship take-off 2- The Thin Ice ✅ 3- Another Brick in the Wall p1 ✅ 4- The Happiest Days of Our Lives ❌ 5- Another Brick in the wall p2 ✅ 6– Mother ❌❌ I fcking HATE HATE HATE this song 7- Goodbye Blue Sky ❌ 8-Empty Spaces ❌ 9- Young Lust✅ 10- One of My Turns✅ 11- Don’t Leave Me Now❌ 12- Another Brick in the wall p3✅ 13- Goodbye Cruel World ❌ Top 3 (all the ones I ticked hehe)
Good concept, but too long.
I enjoyed it
I feel like I am missing some key element to enjoying this album, like listening to the soundtrack of a musical I haven't seen.
I think this is my first time listening all the way through a Pink Floyd album and I can understand the hype but it wasn’t my favorite.
Epic album by an epic band. I personally have never been an intense fan of theirs but do appreciate their popular material such as Money and Comfortably Numb. At times though, their material seemed a bit dull and dragged on. I respect those who love Floyd and understand why.
Kind of hate Pink Floyd but we're being open-minded! Honestly Pink Floyd is pretty inoffensive. Like, as much as I complain about them, I would never be actively angry about someone playing a record of theirs. It's just so proggy, which is not my thing, and I don't even know why! I would think that it would be something I am into being that I try to live my life like a 10-year-old boy in the 70s in most ways. Ok, so I was sitting here thinking about how not terrible this record was until "Hey You" came on. I fucking hate this song. I don't know man, I mean, I guess Pink Floyd is GOOD I just also find them deeply ANNOYING. It's like, white male pseudo-intellectual bullshit to me.
•Not owned: Streaming •I've struggled to climb The Wall multiple times; this time I found that the narrative is lost in the writer's self-indulgence. And maybe that's the point? I appreciate the experimentation to push the listener inside, but it only makes the second half—when the sound really keys in—more confounding. •3/5
What an interesting album--definitely not a great album, but a fascinating and intriguing one. Probably says something that I preferred diving down innumerable wikipedia rabbit holes about the album's inspirations, themes, characters, and the general lore and commercial/critical response & legacy over actually listening to the album. Pink Floyd are already an indica strain, slunk into the couch sort of band, but my god is this placid and limp. Sedate but kind of breezy in it's pacing, it just plods along and on and on. Hard to accurately call something filler when it serves a place in the narrative structure It's kind of a great trojan horse that they snuck all their most commercial, pop leaning tendencies into an overwrought, pretentious double album with an overarching narrative framework. The Eagles' cosplay "Young Lust" wouldn't fit anywhere else in their discography, same with the squint and you might see Disco on the horizon #1 single "Another Brick in the Wall Pt.II" For all it's overexposure on classic rock radio "Comfortably Numb" still sounds fantastic. When I was younger&dumber I held this in very high esteem, even if I knew better than to ever actually listen to the thing in its entirety. It's some sort of artistic triumph I guess, but outside of a couple moments, not something I really have interest in returning to--though given how cinematic and theatrical in scope this is I could see my opinions changing if I ever get around to watching the film version.
Meh, never really been a fan but can appreciate why they are popular.
Never been a Pink Floyd fan. Musically this album is amazing to me but Roger Waters vocals grate on me for a lot of it until Comfortably Numb which is an amazing track. Overall not something I’m going to revisit. I appreciate the scope but it’s so long and self-indulgent.
Some really good songs, but hard to keep concentration and interest that long.
As a piece of audio recording and studio engineering this is awesome - such a refreshing listen compared to 'modern' music where everything is normalised and compressed, this has loads of 'space' in the recording and dynamic range, however I found some of the content dragged and I don't really have the attention to listen to the lyrics and storyline.
It’s fine! Really. Kind of neat production. Was it spectacular for its time? Now it just seems kind of repetitive. Great musicians. They love sound effects. Solid bops.
Dark Side of the Moon was how I was introduced to Pink Floyd. Must have heard it more than a 100 times. Wasn’t impressed with most of this album. My taste is music has changed over time but still enjoy many classics from the 60’s & 70’s.
Very boring but I can see how it was innovative when it came out
The concept is intriguing, and Pink Floyd certainly has the talent to pull it off, but many of the tracks, particularly at the front end of the album are just straightforward arena rock without much interesting about them. Towards the middle of the record, once Pink's 'wall' is complete the songs become more spacey and creative, but it's a long time to reach that point. 6/10
Rock opera theatrical music for 90 minutes. Would have been amazing as a light show but too much as a stand alone album.
Another group and song I heard of. Basically only cared for one song.
Cool concept, legendary album. Not the most enjoyable. A couple of perfect songs.
Enjoyed the hits. Listening feels like watching a movie. When it rocks, it really rocks. Much of the rest was hard to get into.
Enjoyed the formerly Top 40 hits off the album, but that's pretty much it.
Recognize the greatness and popularity of PF. I did listen to a lot of it. Used to think I hated them, but turns out it’s just not my thing. I did imagine that folks who heard this when it actually came out, must have blown them away. Also, they were known as Megadeaths! Didn’t know this; During "Part 1", the protagonist, Pink, begins building a metaphorical wall around himself following the death of his father. In "Part 2", traumas involving his overprotective mother and abusive schoolteachers become bricks in the wall. Following a violent breakdown in "Part 3", Pink dismisses everyone he knows as "just bricks in the wall."
Classic concept album but man it’s long
Interesting
Classic concept album!
This album is conceptually sound. In my opinion, this is definitely not Pink Floyd's best effort. There are some great songs and some instantly forgettable ones. That being said, i enjoyed the listening experience and this is an album I'd be happy to revisit. But I'd probably listen to Animals, Meddle, Piper or Wish you were here instead.
There are some great songs on here but taken as a whole it was just OK for me.
Been a long time since I’ve listened to an album from start to finish. Lots of sound effects that were new at the time. Fun to listen to but not likely to find its way into my rotation.
Nothing new to say about this album. Hideously unfashionable at the time, hideously unfashionable ever since. Some everygreen songs, but the concept and the linking bits are very skippable.
not a fan of Floyd. Classic but not for me
I’ll take the layne Staley Tom morello version of another brick from 1999’s criminally underrated The Faculty, but an extra star for producing the original so it could be used in a movie about alien teachers attacking students instead of protest
I'm not saying it's a bad album, I'm just saying I could only ever listen to Comfortably Numb again and not feel like I was missing out (and I'm going to pick the dar Williams cover of comfortably numb nine times out of 10). It definitely doesn't help that the only other time I've listened to this album all the way through was while making out with my high school boyfriend so......"listen" is generous.
Ok look. I didn't finish this album today. I've heard this album so many times. It's fine. I like a lot of it. It's also extremely long and has some intercuts that make me feel I'm having auditory hallucinations (negative). 2.5 rounded up
Oofff. This hurts to give because I respect the band but as an album this is so padded I was wondering when it would take the ice and play goalie. What's good is really good but it's so surrounded by fluff meant to get it up to the 80 minute feature length for the film they wanted. It's high quality fluff for what it's worth but it's still only 40 minutes of actual content on an 80 minute album. As a rock opera, it's amateur hour. No knocks against Roger Water and Co here. Musical theater is hard. Maybe if I watched the film I could change my tune but I'm rating the album here. Rent, Hamilton, Wicked, Hades Town, hell, even Les Mis all kept me interested nearly end to end with sound track alone and at twice the run time. Totally see why this album had the impact it did. I love concept albums, but I don't think this is as well executed as nostalgia makes folks think.
Fine. I don’t own this album but over my lifetime I’ve probably heard the big songs on this album a significant quantity more than most of the albums I own.
I felt like I didn't fully get this album. Not sure if I just wasn't in the mood for it.
Not their best but good.
Like the songs on here but a lot of filler. felt long.
Hey You. Comfortably Numb. Another Brick in the Wall. Everyone has heard this album start to finish. Not me.
Double albums have always been hard to pull-off. Apart from Blonde On Blonde & The White Album, what double album released in the 60’s or 70’s was outstanding? I’m still thinking. What’s even harder is to find a rock opera / concept album that’s a double album & worth that trouble. The original Jesus Christ Superstar is the only one that I really rate. Tommy had some moments & so does The Wall, but they both still seem bloated to me. Still, Another Brick In The Wall & Comfortably Numb are both classics (although I have to say I prefer The Scissor Sisters version of the latter - sacrilege I know). And I quite enjoy Young Lust, Hey You & Run Like Hell. But only three stars from me.
Good but too long
not my most favorite pink floyd album but a classic either way
Very good in places, but it didn't need to be so long. Sometimes less is more.
It's a nice album, but it's very long to listen to one core sound for
I enjoyed my listen. It's a very strange album, in a good way.
not funny
Its definitely a good Album and it was a lot of work to do it. For my taste it is to much a studio work. It don’t feel like a unity.
probably great. didn’t listen
I’m still digesting the album as a whole. I was familiar with the bigger tracks already. Idk this whole rock sound is not clicking with me right now. I certainly respect what it’s going for. The melodies are there, the story is great but I think I need a bit more distortion in my rock, the riffs sound too polished to me. I think I need to listen to it a few more times and maybe later on it’ll grow on my but right now it’s not.
Prog rock. Regular rock with a story and weird sound effects thrown in on top of a story...kinda?
really liked it, super cool vibe and love the brick in the wall songs
Meh
It was good.
Fine
I do not know what to do with this album. It was my first time listening to the entire thing. It is 80 minutes long so that is a knock against it. There are some really good and well known songs on the album. The other songs are not as good and feel like filler songs. I get it is supposed to be Rock Opera, but it is just a little much, Very similar to Tommy in that regard. I do not think I would listen to this entire album again. I will certainly listen to songs on this album again but not the whole thing. It is better than a 3 not really a 4.
It's great, it's a classic, not enough gay cowboys

Ah the infamously divisive concept album from Pink Floyd. The Wall is a really bloated double record. It’s unapologetically cinematic, but for a band that prided itself in dishing out long, compelling progressive rock epics, The Wall falls pretty flat. Perhaps it is because Roger Waters sounds like he’s finally converting into the outspoken eyebrow-raiser we know today, continually putting his foot in his mouth. His vocal performances and melodies are weaker than in their previous records, potentially due to the focus on this record’s “story.” The grim, evocative mood of the record is compelling, that’s for sure, but without the songwriting to back it up, the end result is a painful two-hour slog. Still, this record has one of the best Pink Floyd songs, the incredible “Comfortably Numb.” Some other highlights include “ Another Brick In the Wall, Pt. 2” and “The Show Must Go On.”
it was ok, not great
Nice continuity throughout. It was a little too noisy and punk for my mood. The background noises and talking wasn't designed for noise cancelling earbuds, a bit jarring. On another day I would have liked it more.
A bit whiny with a lot of wasted space. Undeniable bangers do lift this up but In trying to be cryptic and vague they left a lot of meat on the bone. Empty spaces made me so mad.
I didn’t like it the first time, but I’ll give it another play for this project.
Some songs I liked but otherwise didn’t grab my attention
Impressive with the amount of work it has to offer. Admirable for the musical exploration it provides. What someone likes is subjective. I can understand the hype, but it didn't give me the amazement it's fans swear by. I feel this is something that I will grow to appreciate more as I listen more to it. This is my first time hearing reaction.
I appreciate an album that is meant to be listened to from start to finish. The only songs I had heard from the album were my favorite songs: Brick in the wall, hey you, good bye blue sky. There was a straight up horrid song: Don't leave me now which sounded like a cat being drowned. The album is also just way too long and some of the songs end up just sounding like the same song but with a few tweaks. It feels like a jam album where the band just jammed and recorded it. The end of the album is a like a fucked up play.
Still sounds modern and relevant today. Timeless and influential, but not my favorite.
quite good, but long and uneven
I found this album interesting and artful and I could tell why many describe it as a masterpiece. But it didn't move me.
This will be the second Pink Floyd album I listen to. I didn’t really want to like The Dark Side Of The Moon because I find Roger Waters to be really annoying, but I thought it was amazing. I go into The Wall with hesitant optimism. Songs I already knew: Another Brick In The Wall Pt II, Comfortably Numb Favourites: Another Brick In The Wall Pt II, Comfortably Numb I found that the two songs I already knew went well with the surrounding songs of the album, and the recurring melodies from Another Brick show the running theme well. However, I didn’t really find any other songs to draw me in and grab my attention beyond “this sounds like Another Brick again”. Hey You is the only other track that I felt worth mentioning, as beyond this it’s a lot of atmospheric and cinematic tracks that I’d frankly say are quite skippable.
Too long at 26 songs. Good sounds
Floyd well past their best by the time this album came out.
I like how it tells a storyline throughout the album. Wouldn’t listen to it again but it was still a decent album
Highly variable album; too long by half, with several filler tracks that could easily be lost. On the better tracks, Dave Gilmour's guitar is excellent. But its so histrionic. Cleansed my palate afterwards with some Stereolab.
Knew this one, not one of my favourite Pink Floyd albums.
The hit is as big as it always was, nowt else really stood out while cooking.
They ruin 'Another Brick In The Wall' with part 2. Were the children specifically chosen from the set of 'Oliver'? The guitar solo is good, though. But then it is David Gilmour. 'Goodbye Blue Sky' is a nice song. 'Hey You' is very good. Actually shivered as soon as the first notes of 'Comfortably Numb' hit. Great song. I don't particularly like that it really turned into a musical by the last couple of songs. Overall, I am glad to have listened to Roger Waters 'The Wall' as performed by Roger Waters 'Pink Floyd'. 3 / 5 stars.
Decent romp. Fast paced.
Most of the album felt slow, some songs had nice guitar solos but other than that felt it was a little slow.
Not a bad listen overall. A bit too theatrical for my liking. And much too long.
The Wall: the final successful ambitious project of Pink Floyd, serving as a slow, spacey, and dramatic rock opera. They've adapted to the times, with many songs featuring an atmospheric 80s production with the chorus effects and synths. This album serves simultaneously as a movie soundtrack, and it does extraordinarily well with its instrumental moments and reoccurring themes, making it feel more like a theatrical cohesive experience. I saw the movie and was impressed with how well the experimental nature of the film seemed more like an accessory to the music rather than the other way around. As an album experience, there are a ton of songs I don't care for due to the excessive dialogue, a similar complaint I had with The Who's Tommy. But I did enjoy the crazy instrumental parts. A good example is the contrast between the piano ballad in "The Thin Ice" and the dramatic last third of the song. But a lot of songs serve to build up hype for others, like "Happiest Days" for "Another Brick Pt 2" or "Empty Spaces" for "Young Lust", and although alone they aren't anything satisfying, it contributes to an exciting coherent experience. The end of the first side was a bit boring. "One of My Turns" has a lame first half but becomes a cool glammy disco tune in the second half, but the verses do drag on. The instrumental last quarter was sick though. "Don't Leave Me Now" again suffers from this, but the ending did evoke Dark Side vibes with the spacey sounds. I felt it should've ended with more of a triumph, because even though I was happy to hear a reprise of "Another Brick", I was a bit bored at that point waiting for "Hey You." After the amazing "Hey You", we get another string of four mild tracks which again drag on. "Is There Anyone Out There" is cool and creepy with its sad guitar tone and strings. "Nobody Home" is a cute piano ballad but nothing too interesting melodically, just some synths and echoed vocals thrown in. This is followed by an even more boring ballad "Vera." Then we get some opera interlude before building up to the highlight "Comfortably Numb." "The Show Must Go On" is a pretty good follow up. I like the groove and harmonies. We get a copy and paste of "In the Flesh" which is cool but I don't think we needed another copy of the track going on for over 4 minutes. "Run Like Hell" is a really sick spacey track, my favorite deep cut, and the most like Dire Straits. "Waiting for the Worms" is the most proggy song on the album, going between different styles. I wasn't too crazy about it but was quite impressed. We end with "The Trial" which is just another piano ballad that turns into a cool vaudeville musical act. Conceptually, the mood and structure is appropriate for the end of the album, but it was a bore musically. Looking back on it, I probably won't revisit this album too much, and I'm more likely to watch the movie with how much of a visual and auditory experience it is. Yes, it's as consistent as albums could get, especially for its length. But I constantly find myself waiting for the sparse popular tracks, not really enjoying most of the deep cuts. If it had more of the spacey production dispersed, I may have enjoyed the ambiance. But I have a huge hatred of ballads, and there were just too many of them without anything interesting happening.
Couple decent songs but a lot of these are just fillers with nothing to add to the album as a whole. Still 3 stars are deserved.
Sort of understand its greatness from the lyrics and sounds, but just not my thing.
Never been a huge fan of The Wall, I far prefer Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.
Very long and drawn out for me
Hmmm a little bit underwhelmed tbh. It felt a bit unfocused and didn't have much of the charm and transcendent nature of DSOTM. A few too many songs grated me, especially Don't leave Me Now, vocals were horrendous and it was self-indulgent without appropriate catharsis, even if the last minute of the song was up there with best moments of the album, it was so whiny beforehand that it was hard to get behind. Album felt a bit whiny overall tbh. I think a few tracks could have been cut on this, may have increased my appreciation and I tired of the album by the end. Not saying its a bad album, there are many very great moments on the album, just a bit hit and miss for me and the album didn't really feel cohesive enough. Fav Track: Comfortably numb 3/5
This is where they jumped the shark, to me.
Very good album with some clear weaknesses. I was raised on Meddle and DSoTM so those are the ultimate Floyd for me.
1) In The Flesh? - 4/5 why does it take whole minute to start the lyrics. 2) The Thin Ice - 3/5 i rlly like how it sounds but the lyrics are aite. 3) Another Brick pt. 1 - 1/5 boringggg 4) The Happiest Days - I like that another brick fades into this. 1/5 boringggg 5)
Roger Waters is a fucking prick and has only gotten crazier and more antisemitic since then. This album really should be called Daddy Issues. Overrated album and really where the egos reached their breaking points. This doesn't make the cut in my top 5 Floyd albums.
A bit too overblown for my taste. Some great songs and some great sounds which are bogged down with loose ideas getting wedged into to fit the concept.
I couldn't really get into this. I think there's just too much of it. I'd probably be shot for saying they needed to employ an editor to streamline this, but they should have employed an editor to streamline this.
Very good album overall, but weaker than earlier Pink Floyd albums. Worth listening to for the highlights, which are amazing, but a lot of this feels more theatrical than an actual album.
Big brain album with some bangers, but also quite spacey and repetitive if you're not smoking roachless 70s weed next to a long-haired dude called Jason
For langt + eg like bedre sounden dei hadde på dei tidligare albumene
Man, did I love this album when I was in high school. I memorized the entire thing on my guitar. Then one day I decided it was all a bit much, and it became hard to take it anywhere nearly as seriously as the band does. Still, Gilmore got in some killer licks. And Comfortably Numb is a banger.
It's alright? Could be my mood, but I enjoyed the previous Pink Floyd album that I got (The Dark Side Of The Moon) a lot more.
I get why this is on the list, but I've never much cared for "Another Brick in the Wall," and it appears I feel the same way about the album as a whole. But hey, at least it's better than the Who's "Tommy." I'll give it 2 stars for not entirely sucking and another for its historical value.
Listening to this album I was like.. oh ok yea this is an ALBUM this is a STORY.. well yea looked it up after and checks out hahah. Would be interested to see the film? play? Idk what it is but the visual component of the album. Overall not my vibe but I can appreciate it for what it is! I see why people go coco bananas for it! Why is rock such a big deal? That’s a serious question I have
A few really good ones, and several meh ones. I liked the instrumentals alot, but the addition of sirens and mechanical noises in some of the songs did not jive with me
Sounds were nice, and you could feel some elements of a connected story or vibe, but I feel like I need to be guided or read something external to get an idea of what I'm REALLY supposed to get out of this album. I may need to read up on this album more and relisten.
A tad overblown in places but impressive given it was released at the height of punk. Still sounds fresh today too.
Not my favorite Floyd release. A little bloated, I felt like I was waiting to get to the really epic moments. But obviously a classic.
I can see why people like it so much, it does feel like a weird but cool journey. Not my taste in music, but I appreciate how complexly crafted and profound it is.
There's a good single album in here, but it would still only be 4 stars. Pink Floyd will get 5 stars from me for two of their albums in the book, but too much of this one is boring and whiny, and leaves me uncomfortably numb. They lost their magic with the dominance of Roger Waters, and this full length double album is a chore to listen to.
heard this often no need to relisten
I know another Brick in the Wall and Happiest Days of Our Lives, and they're fine. This may have been ground breaking at the time but feels a little pedestrian now. Maybe it's just social commentary on a time I never experienced. Oh wow okay. Goodbye Blue Sky alone elevates this album way more than I realized. So I was wrong. You need the whole journey. This was epic. I take it back. It was mostly just Goodbye Blue Sky and Comfortably Numb. Still those two get this album three stars.
Pretty cool album. Wasn't wild about the close of disc two (wtf is going on with "The Trial") but solid overall.
was ok - bit too out there for me
Confession time: I don't really "get" Pink Floyd (or a lot of prog rock, for that matter). But I do understand how important this album is in rock history and it's place on this list. There are a couple of great songs on this album, including Comfortably Numb, which is a total classic. The rest of it I find strangely boring, and I don't understand the hype. But I'm not going to argue it wasn't a turning point in music; it clearly was. If I was on a dessert island, cut off from contact with the larger world, and this was all about me, I'd give it a 2. But I'm not, so it's getting a 3.
In the flesh?- Start to our concept, jaded artist The thin ice- Interesting POV from mother talking to baby👍 Another brick in the wall, Pt 1- I feel the all-encompassing metaphor of the wall is a bit obvious and will be a point we labour on. I don’t mind this song, verse lyrics are good, but outro is too long and plain Happiest days of our lives- Bit of a footnote to big song.. Another Brick in the wall pt 2- Big hit from this album, very solid👍 Mother- I like the dichotomy of starting the ‘mothers’ verse with a soothing phrase and then reinforcing negative thinking, instilling it into the child👍 Goodbye Blue Sky- Turning away from the childhood part of the album Next part(Empty Spaces, Young Lust👍, One of my turns)-Showing descent into madness/misanthropy Don’t leave me now- bit of a selfpitying dirge Another Brick in the wall pt 3- well we’ve been here before Hey you- Bit of an optimistic?? slant before diving back into to loneliness and rejection in next songs Bring the boys back home- Satirical patriotic type song Comfortably numb- The other big song, good guitar solos👍 Also liked Run Like Hell-👍 I understand this record is a behemoth that I just can’t really tackle head on right now. I’m just going to give this a 3/5 and maybe come back to it at a later date
Turns out it's a musical?!
I consider it pretty funny that The Wall is basically a Roger Waters solo project but the best song on the album is David Gilmour's Comfortably Numb. It's definitely worth it to listen to it once but because of how thematically heavy and how long the album is it's not going to get constant rotation from me.
Great stoner album.
Definitely not my favorite PF. Still good nonetheless. Very ambitious project.
This has some great songs, no doubt. But I tire of the sketches and the sometimes ridiculous over-the-top approach to writing these lyrics. And this loses a star just for Roger Waters being such a horrible jerk. I think if you could pare this back to a single (not double) album, avoid the worst parts and try to forget who Roger Waters is... and this would be a true classic.
Honestly, I had never listened to The Wall from start to finish before. But I am always down for something that is categorized as a 'concept album' or 'rock opera'. Usually, it means that I am going to be in for something quite intriguing. I can't deny that this album is incredibly groundbreaking, artistic, and intellectual. It tells a very interesting, thought-provoking story among incredibly ambient, transcendental music. The highs really are high. Tracks like "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2", "Hey You", and "Comfortably Numb" are iconic rock songs that have helped define how transcendental Pink Floyd can be. And no doubt, they set a high bar for that atmospheric style in rock music. But here's the thing: aside from the "big hits" and a handful of others, the songs on this album aren't really something that I would want to listen to outside of this album. And even within the album, many of these tracks were just flat out boring, dragging down the parts that are good. I have no complaints about album length, because this is just how things tend to be in rock operas, but I get the impression that Pink Floyd was afforded a little bit too much time to ramble and this resulted in some level of self-indulgent filler. It's because of this that I think the album could have done with a trim. I really do think I would have liked it more if some of the fluff was trimmed out. I have immense appreciation for this album and recognize its iconic status, but it doesn't win me over quite as much as it does other people. Nonetheless, it is a very worthy inclusion on this project.
Too much. But some good stuff mixed in.
classic.
Surprisingly mellow - well, probably not surprising for those who were already fans, but for some reason I thought it would be a bit more prog-rocky and inaccessible. I really liked the musicality of this.
rock operas just arent my thing
Ok
I’ve tried and tried and tried and I mean really tried ti like Pink Floyd but they just don’t do it for me. Couldn’t wait for this album to be over. Was fairly bored, mildly entertained.
The problem with the concept is too much dead air
Honestly I don’t understand the hype behind this album. Sure, the breakout hits are fantastic, but the rest feels like it’s going nowhere slow.
Over stuffed, overly ambitious and gloriously overrated. The best version of Comfortably Numb is the live version from The Departed soundtrack by Roger Waters and Van Morrison. The cannon songs play better as singles than as part of some cohesive concept album. And yet I still like this album for the most part. Maybe it's the presence of one Toni Tenielle on backup vocals. Maybe I'm a sucker for the coked-up vision of Bob Ezrin. It doesn't play as well overall as it does in Roger Waters' mind.
Sorry, nerds!
What bridge is best to jump off while listening to this?
I finally listened to this whole thing. And while it's hard to judge it without the movie, I'm not not that into it. I hear the few awesome songs, but otherwise it's a tough concept album to listen to all in one go. I'm not inclined to listen to it again.
Loved this as a teenager and the shows were fantastic. It's still good, with some notable highlights, but it's more nostalgic than a must have now.
So I needed to give this a little time to settle before evaluating it, because I'm not a Pink Floyd fan, but I did enjoy some of this. It goes on for far too fucking long but when it gets it right it does so spectacularly, and it has my favourite PF song by miles in Comfortably Numb. That and ABITWP2 get it to a 3 by default, I don't think it gets above that but it's definitely a really interesting album to listen to and worthy of a place on the list. I might not be a big fan but I can understand what they were getting at.
3.5/5 Some tracks I absolutely love on this album and many I can pass on. Can’t wait to watch the film again now.
Classic, no doubt.
Typische plaat. Zwaar theatraal afgewisseld met zeer ingetogen.
It’s a solid album, but ends up a pretty tedious listen. Masterful performances, but the length and drama require a specific mood.
Another Brick in the wall pt2 is a banger
Hard to believe only going 3 stars here but just too much as this was an all-time high school-era fave but it's too heavy and bombastic now, even grading on a rock opera curve. I wonder how the movie would look/feel after all these years.
Great production. An interesting piece of history.
This is one of those albums where I can appreciate the effort and the talent, but it still just didn't do much for me. I think this was the first time I'd ever listened to the album in full and it was a pretty underwhelming experience.
I'm not massive on Pink Floyd but still a solid album.
I don’t like Another Brick In The Wall enough to listen to 3+ different versions. Not an album I would listen to on the regular. Enjoyed Comfortably Numb
I could listen to that riff from "In the Flesh" for hours. I just love it. I don't love the rest as much, but it is kind of fascinating to listen to as an entire piece vs. a collection of singles scattered across every classic rock station in the world. But you know what I never hear on any of those stations? "In the Flesh." Damn shame. I'm going to split the difference and go 3 stars. Would be 3 & 1/2 if I had the option, .
No es un 5 porque ese está reservado para Dark Side of the moon.
I liked The Wall. Can't get over it! Yeooooooooooooooo
Freaked me out bit as a 13 year old. Sorry Mr Waters, but I find the pieces around the big 6 or 7 songs just prog padding. I'm not won over by the story either. 5 out of 5 for Brick, Numb, Run. Positive mentions to Young Lust, Hey You, perhaps Mother. Low scores for much of the rest.
Sometimes too much is too much
Wasn't a huge fan. Pink Floyd is always a hit or miss for me and I really only like a few of their songs.
Why was it so long.
Pretentious.
Not my favorite PF album - lots of filler here in my opinion. Still has some incredible moments
Lots of work went into this beast
The general tendency of rock operas to end up less than operatic is a crying shame. Thankfully, The Wall doesn't have that problem. However, it ends up feeling slightly uncomfortable with itself. The moments of story are quite spread out: Not a problem, but it does draw the ear to the disconnect between the narrative and the embedded rock album or albums. The moments of thick musical beauty, on the other hand: I wish Floyd had gone all in on those. Their rate makes the finished product feel a little uneven. All in all, though, it's a nice thing to have playing. I'm reminded of my copy of A Passion Play. I put that record on after buying it, opened a site with annotations, scrutinized the stuff in the sleeve. But in the end all that was a bit hollow, and the music was... fine. Worms good though.
My least favourite PF album and one I find mildly irritating. Got a few great times that can't be ignored though.
When it’s good it great but these moments are fleeting and in reality it’s bloated and self indulgent throughout. Double albums - who’d have em.
My college roommates used to get high and listen to this album nonstop. I hated it at the time. So I came into this one with a bit of a pre-conceived opinion, but I really tried to give this a chance. I know this is everyone's favorite album, but I just don't get it. There are definitely some good songs on here, but so much filler...
joo men bra
The singles are classics but, besides one or two tracks, the rest is rather forgettable and overly melodramatic. Don't think I'll ride this whole album again.
Expertly composed, some great tracks. But dare I say.....overated?
Was ready to listen to a masterpiece. Think my expectations may have been to high, because I did not enjoy very much.
FIRST LISTEN: "Based on this meat, I don't think I want any pudding." SECOND LISTEN: (At the behest of 'Hell Yeah' I decided I should listen to this album again... and again... ) I was able to dodge the music of PF for most of my life until today. And then, I found myself lost in a rabbit hole and along the way came to an epiphany. Did you know that Randal's character in Dazed and Confused is called 'Randal' by his coach, but his 'buds' call him 'PINK' because his last name is FLOYD!!! [OMG!] and there's more... PINK FLOYD is a person, NOT A COLOR!!! WHOA!! [takes another bong hit] Also, there's a movie called 'The Wall' which is a film adaptation of the album which is based on PINK FLOYD (aka Roger Waters), where Pink Floyd is played by Bob Geldof!! Well, the second+ listen of this made me realize that I really need to see this movie, if for nothing else, to have an excuse to get baked after the kids go to bed. Unfortunately, the Himalayan Blackberry sent me right to zonksville before the movie even started. Anyway, the album must be taken as a whole, you can't listen to one or two tracks, you've got to EXPERIENCE this album, man. Evidently, this guy Roger Waters, is a genius and had a big falling out with the band and sued to retain rights to several PF albums, including The Wall, and won. But he's the character in the album and the movie. So, to break it down for you, The Wall is Communism and the album is based on the struggle for democracy between east and west, and Pink is a Communist (Pink Floyd=Pink=Pinko=Commie).... all makes total sense, right...? Well, RW isn't as concerned as much with freedom as much as he is with himself. The Wall is really about him and the fascism he's encountered through much of his life. Pink's wall is what he constructs and it evolves as he grows older until he's old, lonely and depressed. Musically, this album didn't do much for me, but as I listened to it, I began to care more about the story and Pink's survival. All of those years I spent hearing 'Comfortably Numb' on the radio began to make sense once I had the background and context of the album. After spending some time with this I came to this conclusion: appreciation for this is going to take time, but a foundation for it is there. Big thanks to Hell Yeah for urging me to take another listen and dig a little deeper. Perhaps one day I can finish the movie and enjoy some pudding too.
Never listened to this album…the longest one from the list so far but seemed to go pretty fast…knew more songs than I thought I would
Would be so much better trimmed and not a double album.
Overrated
Classic
Always good for a 'trip' back in time with
Not my vibe but I know it's essential listening
Classic prog album but not the bands best in my opinion.
meh I like dsotm and wywh but the wall never really grips me, not bad tho
Clearly a classic and I own it, but it's never been among my favorites.
Didn't even know that Another Brick in the Wall had a first part. I' stunned, it isn't even close to part 2. I think some songs are good, such as Another brick in the wall or comfortably numb, but otherwise not many songs got my attention
The Trial sounds like a musical, funny.
Boring
Haven't listened to this in years. It's good, iconic and all. I don't think it needed to be a double LP.

Ich hatte mich gestern schon bezüglich Doppelalben geäußert. Machts halt zwei Releases draus, man ey. Also zumindest The Wall.
Great, genius, legendary... But a bit played out. I couldn't help but let my fatigue affect my rating but I still know this is over if the best.
It’s too long. There’s some gold in here though.
Decent, very melancholy, would have to listen again
Rock/Psychedelic, something different but nice nevertheless.
Parece uma grande introdução de Another Brick in the Wall.
Solid
3,5/5
This was better than I thought, although I wouldn't say it's as much of a classic as people think. Just a standard rock opera really. Got nothing on the crimson idol!!!
The classics stand apart in the album, such as Another Brick in the Wall pt. 1 (Banger), but overall the album is too long and too rock-operatic to be a good standalone. Certainly not my favourite Pink Floyd and certainly not my favourite rock opera. The Thin Ice was also nice! Could be 2.5, but it's not allowed on this website.
Decent outing from pink floyd, the wall is a great song, some other decent bits on here
There are bits I like and bits I genuinely hate. If Wish You Were was Gilmour taking the lead, then this is definitely Waters taking the lead and I’m not sure that is for the best… It is overblown and ridiculous and, like most concept albums, rooted in a theatricality that I don’t appreciate. I am genuinely astonished that this is rated so highly, given how weird, inaccessible and long it is.
Radio edits would go hard. As recorded, no likey
Didn't like it as much, not my cup of tea
Not feeling pink floyd...
Another Brick in the Wall is a track to loathe. How dare these middle class privileged bastards use the voices of working class kids to declare We Don't Need No Education. My unfortunate experience of knowing this appalling anthem caused me to very reluctantly press play for 2 hours 35 mins of Pink Floyd. Luckily (I suppose) it was just dull. Although the lyrics of Mother probably don't bare a close listen unless you want to tune in to a 'women are the source of all men's troubles' type of narrative. These Pink Floyd boys have whining poor quality voices too which adds to the thumbs down response.
Sounded like a shouty one
Another Brick In The Wall is one of the more annoying songs from a musical I don't care about The Wall and I'm never going to care about The Wall. music: hated. (⌐■_■)
Maybe Doug Walker was right after all. Incredibly self indulgent, bloated, unrelentingly cynical, some shockingly bad vocal performances, and worst of all - boring. Comfortably Numb is undeniably an incredible track surrounded by angsty high school tumblr posts.
Far too long, far too pretentious, far too boring, far too few memorable actual songs. “Comfortably Numb” is great, there’s a couple other moments that pop up, but then immediately dissipate into mindless self-seriousness. I love almost all rock, but still just don’t “get” Pink Floyd.
I liked some of the songs, but most of them aren't my style.
This album was in heavy rotation with the stoners in the back of the bus during my high school era. Mostly overwrought and ponderous, with a few good licks thrown in, eg Run like hell.
Meh, it had its moments but it was pretty boring for the most part.
Supremely overrated, with a slight story, an unredeemable protagonist and too many songs that barely function as such. In a nutshell: too much Roger Waters. The band member who elsewhere added a welcome counterpoint to the rest of the band’s soaring psychedelic euphoria is fully in control of this record, resulting in a dark and facile would-be-psychological turd. And his singing sucks. Gilmour’s few contributions are the bright spots, but even a classic tune like ‘Comfortably Numb’ suffers from association with this narcissistic, too literal storytelling.
Just an all around unpleasant listen. None of the songs actually feel like songs, and there's no subtlety in anything here. I have no problem with literalism in art, but the lack of nuance on pretty much everything here makes this such a tough listen, like if the most insufferable theater kid you knew in high school tried writing a rock opera. I would hate to meet the person who thinks this is the best Pink Floyd album.
Went in with high expectations and was let down greatly. Found it to be a boring cohesive album.
290/1001 Pink Floyd - The Wall Heard before? ✅ Revisit? ❎ Overlong, with barely the tunes to match the runtime of the album. Overrated af.
Okay at times, but some of it is truly dreadful. The songs are good, but so much of the album is just people chanting/ speaking in really bad accents
If I grew up in the 60s and was on LSD, then I'd like this. But I didn't, and I'm not, so I don't.
Not much diversity and the style didn’t really suit my music taste. I liked the songs young lust, dont leave me now, hey you, comfortably numb and run like hell.
I hate this album and I hate this band, they're both waaaaay too over rated.
not for me at all
I understand every bit of why this album is as big and popular as it is. Well maybe not every bit but the broad point. It's really just not for me, too much of Waters theatrics that just don't interest me. When it's good it's outstanding but those parts I can attribute more to the band and Gilmour than just Waters doing his thing.
dislike
Couple of good songs. The rest is all a bit weird.
2.5
mother should i build a wall mother should i run for president
Overblown pomposity and conceit in musical format.
Don't like Pink Floyd
I ain't slogging through this. I know there's some good tunes on it but the radio killed them for me.
I genuinely tried to get into this even though I think Pink Floyd kinda sucks. I know that a lot of people like how expansive and epic it is, but a lot of it just felt meandering and overly grandiose and boring to me, particularly in the second half. I had forgotten about 'mother are they going to try and break my balls' though, which is pretty funny when sung in a British accent.
For years I really had a strong dislike of Pink Floyd. I always thought there was too much going on, it was overblown, it lacked quality control. Since I've grown to love Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and others. When this album is good, it's phenomenally good, when it's bad it really scrapes the depths of what I can tolerate. I suspect this album is where our relationship got off on the wrong foot. An album full of hits, but equally full of filler. How can it be full of both at the same time? Because it's too fucking long.
Îi fainut nu-i rău
This is a cool concept I guess but most of the songs fucking suck ass. Pink Floyd has better albums by far. Roger waters is also a Nazi I think kinda
2.5hrs long
Mother, Another Brick in the wall, goodbye blue sky, Comfortably numb, The trial świetne.
i'm going to treat this listening experience as an encounter with a music album, not as a soundtrack to a musical because the latter requires a visual medium for me as well. why are there so many sound effects??? makes it so literal. very generic vocals, which is not necessarily a bad thing. 'don't leave me now' i hated, i get that its supposed to be sad, mournful and desperate but i thought it was cheaply this way. i was so done by pt.3. 'hey you' surprising at first, but i was disappointed with the same theme. 'comfortably numb' is very good, a strong stand alone piece. i have read more about the plot on wiki halfway through the album and it adds to the experience a whole lot but im not sure this is something im looking for. glad to have experienced it though. 'the trial' is so nightmare before christmas coded.
fav songs: another brick in the wall, pt. 2 opera, movie, 30/100
I really wanted to like it
Never really got pink floyd’s appeal. I guess you have to be divorced enough to understand
Yeah, this is one of those albums with mythical status and it has its merits but sounds a bit dated and up itself now. I'd never seek it out and play any of the tracks on it. Wasn't a fan when it came out and nothing has changed since. 'Comfortably Numb' is probably the only stand out track for me.
Doesn't work for me
not my vibe
If you don't beat your meat, you can't have any pussy
The problem with Pink Floyd is that everything they do is so carefully crafted that it’s devoid of feeling (with the exception of the excellent album Wish You Were Here) There’s no passion anywhere in it and that’s fine when you’ve managed to create a masterwork like Dark Side of the Moon but when it’s a politically laced double album??? I’m bored! There are some good songs here. It’s certainly well produced. They’re very good at playing their instruments and arranging their sounds but about a quarter of the way through I’m ready for the next album.
62. very long
Mainly a load of tosh so far.
i like other pink floyd albums quite a lot, but i do not care for this one very much. too bloated, not enough memorable parts for me. fairly disjointed. most songs would cannot stand on their own. please stop playing different parts of the wall. "hey you" is a good tune. so is "comfortably numb."
I will never be able to separate this album from the time it came out and its popularity with my peers. I was 14 at the time and in 9th grade (final year of junior high). It was a miserable time which was in no way helped by being surrounded by emotionally and intellectually underdeveloped people chanting "we don't need no education" while wearing t-shirts saying "Nuke Iran." I feel confident in saying that they would in fact have benefited from education. Of course, it is unfair to judge this album solely through the lens of my peers' selective appropriation of its message. Therefore I have made a list of pros and cons. Pros: - David Gilmour's guitar playing. I am certain that many fans are drawn to this album for his solos and don't particularly care about the half-baked concept. Roger Waters insistence the album is all his because he wrote the (completely pedestrian) songs is laughable. - The record taught me the British meaning of "meat" and "pudding." Cons: - Plodding tempo - Far too long which is a function of using the "concept album" to justify repeatedly hashing the same music (and playing the songs at a tempo that suggests overconsumption of cough syrup) - the failure of the "concept" itself. Compare the record with its contemporaries wrestling with alienation from consumer culture as well as childhood trauma. Waters' take is purely individualistic - while I agree that we all should break the walls that prevent us from emotionally connecting, there should also be an accompanying critique of consumer culture and its role in our collective alienation.
Along with being tedious and pretentious, it's also just plain boring. Naptime for me.
WE DONT NEEED NOO EDUUUCATIONNN
I don’t believe this distribution of ratings. You guys are lying right? Some enjoyable parts but mostly songs I did not want to listen to and a lot of the vocals were just dreadful. I guess this is the album that all the rest of the drunk slop on this list was copying though. Disc 2 was definitely better than disc 1.
Hat immer mal wieder nette Momente. Insgesamt aber langweilig und vieeeeel zu lang.
Pink Floyd sind überbewertet. 2 Sterne für den einen Hit.
TL;DR(?) Meh, not really for me
This is a rare example of an album that I loved when it originally came out, but I’ve cooled on it in recent years. The concept is simple - a monstrously self obsessed rock star who blames everybody else for his problems. He starts with being angry with his father for dying in the war, his mother for being over protective, his school teachers for trying to educate him, his wife for not having much to say to him and even has a go at the “dirty” groupies who want to have sex with him. When all of that becomes too much to bear, he builds a massive wall and becomes a fascist. Is this all starting to sound a little familiar? I mean, Roger Waters is not exactly being subtle here. I could even accept it as an allegory, if it turned out that fabulously wealthy rock star Waters hadn’t literally spat in the face of a fan at a 1977 gig and fantasised about building a wall to separate him from the great unwashed. He also managed to fall out with his band mates on a spectacular level, getting rid of keyboardist Rick Wright, refusing to comp producer Bob Ezrin a ticket for the touring show, before finally quitting the band himself in 1982 and refusing to speak to any of them again. For an epic concept album about an isolated rock star with a tough upbringing who becomes a cult like figure, The Who did it first (and better) with Tommy, as did Bowie with Ziggy Stardust. As much as I like the musicianship of Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright, I just can’t take Waters self-pitying vocals any more - if I want to listen to these songs again I’d happily choose the Scissor Sisters cover of Comfortably Numb or if you can track it down online Luther Wright and the Wrongs countrified version of the whole album.
Niet mijn smaak
Not the biggest fan of concept albums. I struggled to stay with it. Obviously the big song Another brick is a big pull for this album. It's not their best piece of work in my opinion.
I tend to think concept albums aren't strictly the same kind of thing as most of the other albums on here, and need to be listened to differently. This has more in common with a musical or an opera than it does with a rival rock album. And I'm not very interested in any of those things. Added to that, the theme and style put me off. A rich famous rockstar can certainly make interesting music about his personal angst and suffering, but when it's delivered in such an epic, theatrical style, it feels self-absorbed and pretentious to me.
Decent album, weird that they have multiple versions of the same song it tripped me out a bit but I liked some of the songs - young lust was a good one
I've always slightly avoided Pink Floyd and I'm hoping this project will give me a chance to appreciate them more. This wasn't the best start, though. There are a handful of good songs of which Comfortably Numb is comfortably the best, and I love Gilmour's fluid guitar playing, but I found most of this quite turgid.
Not really my style but there were a few that I liked
It's my first time listening to this, therefore a gargantuan album as this is may take a few listens before it clicks. But as of right now, it's just not very good. The cardinal sin a 26-song, 80 minute long album can make is being boring, because then it gets much longer than it already is. I was checked out before the second half of it. It even made Comfortably Numb less enjoyable because of how unenthused I was by that point.
Hard for me to get into. There's so much reverence with pink Floyd that I felt like I wasn't getting it.
the young stoner in me wants to give this a higher rating than I really have the ability to
Whatever man
Even by 1979, it’s clear the news of the revolution hadn’t reached all music fans and accordingly, millions were still happy to lap this up as if punk had never happened. I respect the band for having the balls, 2 years on from Never Mind The Bollocks, to release an 80 minute rock opera. My life as a music fan properly began at a time when it seemed very correct to accept that punk was necessary. As a result, it’s taken a long time for my eclectic tastes to win out over my ingrained bias against the excesses of what rock music had become by the mid 70s. Older and wiser, I am now comfortably able to piss off my teenage self by investigating all manner of prog, fusion and other overblown rock which I can now appreciate without prejudice. I still believe punk was right, but to understand a revolution it’s wise to know your history. Ah how refreshing. I can enjoy all music now…. The thing is, for all the Yes, King Crimson, Weather Report, Genesis etc that’s now allowed in my house, there are a few notable exceptions that remain taboo, personal no-gos that consistently ruffle feathers every time I'm forced to bring them up. They are usually so-called sacred cows and Pink Floyd is a perfect example. This 1001 project will force me to address these face on and this is the 1st example that has come up. To be clear, I am giving this a fair listen. I’m going to be doing that as much as possible while I work my way through this 1001 thing. I’m ok with concept albums too, in fact I wonder why there aren’t more. As the album starts "In The Flesh?” makes me pause for thought. This sounds massive and while I’d never understood why The Flaming Lips tip their hat to the Floyd so often, The Lips are exactly what this is reminding me of. Have I been missing out on a whole double album as good as “In The Flesh?”? Raw guitars doing a gigantic woozy riff and a swirling organ on top of huge drums and a Ziggy style vocal. Right up my street and nothing like the Pink Floy…oh wait….here we go…. An hour later as side 4 begins, I get “In The Flesh” (no question mark) and I realise what I want to be listening to is an album by this Pink character in the story; the song in both forms is representing the main character performing in concert. In the hour between, it’s been largely what I had expected; plodding, morose dullness with “seriously important“ guitar “work” and a concept which, although apparently laboured over considerably in the writing process, seems without a great deal of depth, intrigue or sophistication. The rest of side 4 returns to form and it’s notable that it’s not until the most un-Floyd thing on the album, the musical theatre style “The Trial”, that my ears again ask “oh, what’s going on here?” I've made it all the way to the end and there’s been a few moments along the route that have been ok, but I’ve been mostly bored. Obviously, I will be faced with the prospect of more Pink Floyd as I progress through the 1001 process, and many with much greater reputations than this one. With those, I hope to have my mind changed, even if just a little, but for now, The Wall has failed to do so.
So boring.
I wanted to like this album but I couldn’t get into it
This one was pretty interesting and glad I listened. Just not for me!
Very overrated album and band in general. Every song takes ages to actually start. Brick in the wall pt2 is good for first minute then they just butcher it.
Oh, now I see why people don't like Pink Floyd
what’s wrong with all of you. this is absolutely awful? i think there’s 2-4 songs that i actually could stand listening to. and im not taking any of the ‘ooooo but it’s so progressive for its time blablabla’ BULLSHIT. this is BULLSHIT
i listened to this a while ago and i, frankly, don't wanna listen to it again. didn't like it
yok aga benlik degil daha boyle sey lazim metalik biseyler🤠
Listen, I absolutely love Pink Floyd but this… this aint it. I absolutely love most of their work this one just feels off. I love their Pompeii stuff specifically because it lacks vocals, telling the story with their amazing musical talents. IMaybe it’s cause I did not see the film, but everything about this seems so theatrical to me. While the music is still great, comfortably numb is one of my favorite guitar solo’s of all time, it just lacks that mystery. Not for me I guess, loved some tracks but I vividly remember now why this never was one of my favorite records of theirs. (i HATE ‘the Trial’ it’e whimisical and goofy, that’s not why I listen to them)
bloviated bloated self centered
That was so unbelievably long for how boring it was. I wish the rock opera were never invented as a concept, all of the ones that have come up on this list have been insufferably pretentious
Aside from the odd track I’d rather just listen to an actual fucking brick wall
Here's the hill I will die on: Syd Barrett Pink Floyd are amazing, beyond that, Pink Floyd are mostly dull. I've never understood the hype for this album, it's overlong, overblown and overindulgent. Mid-tempo prog wankery with a few decent pop moments. Does nothing for me, sorry.
I had heard the singles on the radio, but I really didn't like classic rock so I never really cared for them.
Man, I do like pink floyd, but this feels pretentious and long even for them. So many forgettable tracks. Only keeping this at a 2 because i'd feel bad having them in my least favorite albums at all.
look. i know this album was influential and ambitious. i get it's high concept and genuinely artful. the process of actually listening to it as music is harrowing.
What a weird album. The most popular songs on it aren't even that good. I've never really listened to a Pink Floyd album in its entirety, and I'm beginning to understand why. 1.5/5.
I cannot think of a more over-rated band that has maintained the same level of hype as long as Pink Floyd. It's just boring stoner rock. I'm tempted to give 1 star because I dislike Pink Floyd that much, but I'll graciously grant 2 stars because "Another Brick in the Wall" isn't complete trash.
Classic one but still not my favorite. Can't be compared with Dark side of the moon or Wish you were here.
