I read the Wikipedia and went into it with an open mind expecting it to be weird and it happened. Some people need to be a little bit less serious about life and then they can enjoy something weird like this

As another reviewer pointed out he definitely has a wavering whiny voice. I would rather be on the beach than listening to this album right now and I really just don't find the attraction to Neil Young's music.
After listening to this album, I've begun to question the ability of some publications to choose the best song of the year.....
This is where I write my scathing review
This is kind of a mess. Two stars might even be too much

Prob deserves 5 stars but old Western music just isn't my cup of tea.
Prob best listened to on mind altering drugs
For a live album from the '70s this seems very well put together. I think it's more of a 3.5 but I'm rounding up to four instead of down to three
It's Fleetwood Mac, there has to be some good stuff, right? Nah nothing really hit home here
Yeah I just couldn't get into it. Most all of the songs sound about the same
No idea what that was all about since I don't speak a word of French
Changes is good the rest of it is just so so
I'm only giving them two stars because I'm sure they somehow influenced bands like Primus that are much better than them
Definitely not the best live album I've ever heard
On the fence I think it's more of a two and a half and there's definitely better steely Dan albums
It's not really a bad album but a little reggae goes a long ways.
I don't feel this has aged very well
Was not a fan of the vocals pretty much being in the background. Not sure if that was on the original or just a part of the remastered that I listen to
Very few songs are actually available on streaming services so it's kind of hard to judge
Is it truly a five? I don't know, but I'm giving it five stars because I've had such lackluster albums lately
Definitely way too long. Definitely much more listenable than Orbital which so far has been the low water mark by which I will judge all other albums. I made the mistake of looking at some reviews first and thought maybe it would be a 2 star max but I think it should get a bump to a 3.
Yep, it's Christmas music
The music is prob just average for it's time. There are definitely better sounding live albums though
Better than average album so far
I'm going with a solid 4.5. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would it just drug on a little bit in the middle for a few songs
3 hours of love songs? How about no. It only gets a 2nd star because I'm feeling nice for putting in the effort.
I don't think the rats were very hot
It's a four song live album, I'm not sure how this would be considered great but whatever. Typically live albums are never that great in the first place
There's better Springsteen out there.
There is only 1 song from this album available on Spotify in the USA as of 02/24. I guess I'm just giving it a default rating of 3 due to the fact that the 1 song was not bad but I have nothing else to go along with it either
This had some promising moments but overall I feel it is definitely not more than a 3 and that might even be a stretch
This is not the best Elvis, the majority of this album is just meh
Every song is about 2 min too long and repetitive. I have no emotional connection to Bowie's music so this being his swan song death bed album album doesn't sway me either. It only gets 2 stars because 1 star is reserved for those truly terrible albums
Disregard the obscenely long top review at this time. {19-3-24} Go in for a listen with an open mind and enjoy
Obviously has some great hits but the whole album overall is just average
It's kid Rock and I'm not exactly sure what I want to say but I guess it's at least a high three which is better than I was expecting so I'll round up to a 4
I read the Wikipedia and went into it with an open mind expecting it to be weird and it happened. Some people need to be a little bit less serious about life and then they can enjoy something weird like this
Not another Bowie album
Even though this is the Beach boys I feel like this album hasn't aged well and is now less than average
I'm not sure about the 4th star but I'm giving for Freddie Mercury
Ughh more fucking Bowie
Some of the songs are way too long and rambling. This gets three stars only because of Janis Joplin.
4 Stars only for my old roommate Steve
It started off on the wrong foot by not even being available on Spotify in the USA currently. Then I read that it's five tracks in 55 minutes so no way too long. I attempted some of the songs, did not make it completely through any of them
Umm no
Definitely sounds like a movie soundtrack
It was decent but I didn't really see what all they hype was about
Better than expected
I'm going with a solid 4.5 and rounding up to 5 for this one.
Not much to say other than dang he did a great job on pretty much every song
Better than expected but still just average at best
Well it's only 15 min of punk and I didn't even realize the album was over until it sounded like a familiar song and I looked at my phone to realize it was no longer the same album.
This was definitely nothing like what I was listening to back in '99. There didn't really seem to be anything offensive or attractive about this album and it just kind of ended up as folksy background music
Overall pretty decent album just a few dull spots bringing it down to four stars
It's definitely a noise that's about it. I might give it 1.5 Stars due to the creative effort to make all this noise, but there is no half star system here, so 1 it is
This album wasn't bad, there just wasn't really anything remarkable about this album
Another Joni Mitchell album.....yay... NOT! Sorry but I find her music boring and unappealing.
Wow I didn't expect all the hate in the reviews. It's far from perfect but it's definitely far better than some of the other albums on this list
I don't really understand all the Bob Dylan hype.
What was that? If you like random noise and songs that you had to be there for, then this album is for you.
I didn't really have to listen to this one, most all of the songs have been in a pretty consistent rotation for me since I bought the CD in my younger days
Too much Bowie.
Just more 80s synth pop, it's still passable today I suppose
Not sure why Prince was so popular. This was all just mediocre at best to me
Automatic one-star deduction before I even start listening because it's a live album. The recording, production, and performance will all have to earn that star back no matter what album it is. Was this album bad? No. Was this album exceptional? Also no. 3 stars I say, and that may be one too many.
Seemed very lackluster even for a jazz album
2.5/5
As another reviewer pointed out he definitely has a wavering whiny voice. I would rather be on the beach than listening to this album right now and I really just don't find the attraction to Neil Young's music.
I am only 340 albums in and this is my fourth album by The kinks. All the rest I settled on a three or two and this one is no different.
Not really anything I am interested in in any way but it is very well out together.
I did not care for this British band.
The musical content is just okay, but as a performer he's terrible.
I liked the beginning but it seemed to fall off for me the further into it I got.
I really did not enjoy this album.
As per my other reviews, I am not a live album fan but this one hit it out of the park. Johnny had fun with the crowd and it shows.
I could see this easily being a hit back when it came out
Sounds like it was recorded in a junkyard. Seeing that this album includes Nick Cave, it's really no wonder I didn't like it.
Not much that really connected on this one. Too much Costello on this list as it is too
Classic
Aside from the popular hits it's all just kind of meh
To some country music aficionado this may be a great album but to me not so much.
I didn't understand a single word but it had some pretty decent beats
Marginally better than the first orbital album I received on this list. Still not worth listening to though
Kind of on the fence between 4 & 5. I'm going to round up just because I guess.
An average at best '80s album
Are there any actual real lyrics to these songs?
It gets rather repetitive after a couple songs
Didn't really listen to much. The album is unavailable on Spotify as of January 2025.
Very 80's but somehow still not a terrible listen
Another album that would probably benefit from the use of mind-altering drugs...
I enjoy a good instrumental song, but a whole ass album of experimental instrumental songs is a little too much
Better than the previous Bob Dylan album I listened to
Strangely surprised
Two discs and 2 hours? How about no? Oh thank the heavens, the second disc is part of a reissue. I will not be listening to that. Also fuck shoegaze
I don't know why but I seemed to like this one
I want to give it a 4 but it's just too long and drags on in places
Lost interest very rapidly
Perhaps, the original negative reviews were correct....
Do we really need the full blast ear piercing harmonica?
Bummed some wanker thought this deserved to be on the list
Kind of underwhelming even
Found this rather dull and boring
Wow, that was intense... ly boring.
Definitely skip the Spotify version and just go to the original on YouTube.
For its age, I think that was actually pretty decent. Not quite a four. They'll have to settle for a three
I'll start off with minus one star for deleting your catalog and making it hard to find. I don't know, seemed like just average house music to me, nothing really super fantastical about it
I think, no, I know I would rather have brain surgery than listen to this album again.
That was pretty miserable
Oh joy, more of this twat waffle
Meh
One good hit song and a bunch of experimentals does not make a good album
Not much there beyond the album cover
R. I. P. Ozzy Imagine being gifted this album the day after he passes
Just because
Musically 5 As a human though -5
There wasn't really anything memorable or offensive about this, just kind of plain boring bland music
This is kind of a mess. Two stars might even be too much
There's a couple decent songs but a pretty terrible recording all around
I don't get all the love for Coldplay. Mediocre at best for me
After listening to this album, I've begun to question the ability of some publications to choose the best song of the year.....
I don't understand the fascination with the Dead
Oh goody! I can't wait to read all the hate about this one
The original 1986 album is not that great, it's also not the album linked in the most popular review. I was only able to find it as a playlist on YouTube. Also, I'm not sure how many people have dug deep enough to see that they have released 2 self titled albums. I listened to both and personally found the 2003 album to be better.
Tom Waits is still odd but this was better than expected.
Pretty boring really
Entirely too long.
The king of baby making music
I loathe the fact that modern rock radio, in my region, feels the need to continue playing the songs from this album everyday. There is also no denying these songs were huge in their day either.
Heheh that other guy said soliloquy.
Imagine my surprise when I misread the date and was expecting something from the '80s and I got something from the '60s instead
Not really sure what they were going for there
7 songs, 46 minutes. 3 albums by a middle of the road 80's British band at best. You do the math
This is where I write my scathing review
Not really my cup of tea
It's a no for me dawg. The singing doesn't really match the music. It's just weird and awkward at times
I'm not really sure a compilation of a whole musical catalog should really qualify as an album, but whatever I guess
What's the obsession with this twat?
I didn't get all the hate at first, then track 3 started and was completely different followed by another genre change for track 4. Now I get it. This thing is all over the place.
It's pretty amazing that this sold 300,000 copies cuz they all had to have been his pub mates from around his hometown.
This could have been five but lost a star in the second half
This is a tough one. I'm sure it should probably be more than three, but I'm just not seeing where I can really give it more than that.
I'm not a fan of the indie genre in any way, so this is just a thanks for participating 3
As per my own personal policy, all live albums shall lose one star immediately.
That sure was something, I'm not sure what it was and I don't think they knew what they wanted it to be either
I am in no way qualified to review this album. This is just a standard average review
I too say fuck Morrissey
The very uninspired singing doesn't really do much for me. Also how can an album come out in 2021 and instantly be added to this list?
A tad boring, idnit?
I can't say I really need to listen to this one, but damn it I will. There once was a time where I listened to this album, on repeat, on the school bus everyday, on my way to and from school.
The only real positive for me, seems to be the fact that this album contains the original version of the intro song for That '70s show.
I would much rather let out primal screams into the void for 50 minutes than listen to this again
Holy shit! The intro to the first song is absolutely terrible and ear piercing. The rest of the album is just so so at best
I really have no idea.
The Grateful Dead must only have one good song and it automatically followed this album up when it was over.
Boring AF. I understand how influential this album is supposed to be but I really just don't care.
This album is all a load of bollocks
This album could have been left on the shelf and everyone would have been just fine without hearing it.
Can I just give this a zero now or do I have to listen to it?
Is Radiohead overrated? Yes. Am I the only one that thinks this? Pretty sure, no.
