It's OK.

Bernster - 4 Lil luki- 6

Growing up my parents often had the classic rock station on, and several tracks from this album were in heavy rotation, so this is pretty nostalgic. "Hells Bells" and the title song are my favorites here. I found Johnson's voice a little grating after a while, and the kinda predatory lyrics of "Let Me Put My Love Into You" made me uncomfortable.

Loved the music, hated the vocals. And let's face it, the lyrics and general sentiments are pretty appalling.

Why use many chord when few do trick?

Son ellos al 100%, los amas o te son ajenos. No estoy loco por ellos pero tienen su punto indudablemente.

Is it better than I remember? Sure. Is it a terrible uninspired led Zeppelin rip off? Seems like it. Guitarist knows what he's doing and it's got a decent rhythm section. But that falsetto scream throughout the entire album just grates. I can see why they become popular, but man. After two songs I was over it.

One of the better albums, just classic rock.

🤘🎸🧨

Def a couple bangers on here with you shook me and back in black, but overall just sounds generic. Dude can shred a guitar but missed the part about how to write moving songs, drum and bass add next to nothing, vocals are at least unique if completely lacking any range

Not the same highs as the Bon Scott era. Great driving album. I’ve been too long, I’m glad to be back… pepepewpew

Good honest rock. I would never have listened or entertained this genre of music in my earlier life, but find it quite driven and inspiring these days....a massive amount of energy start to finish.

3.0 - Ok

Day568 - not a band i’m a big fan of but no denying their impact on rock and those three hits are classic rock staples

Decent.

Perfect amount of time for my drive. The kids I babysat would only ever want to listen to this album in the car so it gets a point for familiarity

classic for a reason

Too overplayed for me personally. Its a great album but I just cant listen to it anymore.

A classic in hard rock that has earned it's place in music history. I wish I could understand the vocals a bit more, but overall still great to listen to.

ok Australian boomer. only the title track is good and everything sounds like everything else. 3/5

I enjoyed this a lot more than other AC/DC stuff, which is to say i didnt hate it. 7/10

Classic rock album. When I was younger and listened to metal with growl I thought AC/DC was quite soft, but it's actually quite hard. It has a very high pitched sound, both from the vocals and the instruments. It's a wall of sound, but every track still manages to be unique and the melodies still shines through. I've heard almost all tracks before and I think ai must admit that I like it more than I thought I would

I knew more of these than I thought I would - a testament to how many of these are in rotation on the radio, TV, etc. AC/DC sounds like AC/DC, but they are good at that. Surprisingly not a bad listen!

I feel like I can’t take this seriously. I said this with their last album - but they sound like a caricature of themselves. It’s not even bad, I actually kind of like it. I just think this sounds like some cliche hard rock band playing metal music in some concert scene in a tv show.

Suprise! This was a great album, thinking it was going to be monotonous but it was a great listen.

Strong opening but quickly becomes repetitive which is kind of AC/DCs gimmick in a lot of ways. Fave Tune: Back In Black

A good album but I think it’s massively overrated. Or maybe its just really not my thing. Don’t get me wrong it has its fair share of bangers and massive hits, but those don’t necessarily earn you extra stars. So as for me it’s 3 stars.

taste of the 80s

classic

Classic album but not for the heavy rotation

Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning, because of course he did. AC/DC is high art for people who have to worry about things like that - people who answer the question ‘what’s your favorite kind of music?’ with “Loud!” Verses be damned, the only thing that matters is that the chorus is simple and repetitive enough that you can start singing along the first time through. If that’s the kind of music you want, AC/DC is absolutely your kinda band. This is not a band for anyone interested in reading lyrics or thinking about themes; this whiskey is for shooting, not for sipping. I truly don't know if I mean all of that in a good way or a bad way, and I guess that's the genius of AC/DC.

It's absolute trash, but I'm ashamed to say I quite enjoyed it, it's easy to listen to, although all the songs sound more or less identical. There's also more than a bit of Spinal Tap in this (or vice-versa), but I do actually like the music of Spinal Tap as well.

Some good tunes on it but just not Bon Scott.

Some banger songs, but ultimately a little one-note.

The way back machine strikes again- old album for me - 8th grade maybe- fun relisten 3/5 #musicsky #albumsky #musicchallenge

im happy w/ what i wrote about ac/dc back when i rolled highway to hell so im not interested in retracing my steps too too much. i did say i have brian johnson "reservations" but im not sure i actually have any strong feelings on him at all, the possibility having been lost in a sea of just being desensitized to how Every Song On This Album Sounds (tho this was my first time hearing them all in order lol). i think its prob better to say that bon scott was a genuine asset to the band, and johnson, if not *necessarily* a liability, is not rly a strength in the same way. on the whole, the songcraft is in some ways Better than highway to hell, but i dont like it as much, prob because of scotts absence but also prob because of overexposure (tho theyre p sturdy regardless, a fun riff is a fun riff). otherwise, i did reflect a bit on ac/dc being Such commercial juggernauts and Such a staple of pop culture...maybe something about how the mid tempo rocker is a good way to deliver constantly digestible musical information (akin to my observations about u2)? maybe something like what i wrote on highway to hell about the feeling of utter harmlessness to their indulgently Edgy qualities (perhaps even more pronounced with johnson's goblin voice, which if anything is less recognizably human than scott, removing the band further from reality)? idk man maybe you shook me all night long just has a nice little jangle to it (prob my fave post-scott ac/dc track). pretty good album lol.

One of those albums I'd never reach for to play and yet I know every song on this record, and not because they've been making the same song over and over again for 50 years!

The 3 hit songs are great. I loved them for 45 years. The rest is just OK. I screeching vocals can only be taken in small doses. Solid 2.5. Round up to 3.

Every guy in my high school knew this album forwards and backwards--and had the hair to match. Me, on the other hand, as a good Christian girl, was not allowed to listen to it---officially.

3+ Stars (9/15)

-this is iconic. i can’t bring myself to shit on AC/DC’s sound entirely, even if it’s not necessarily suited to my taste -one of those albums that has merit simply for “going hard” honestly. far from flawless but i absolutely love the energy and impact the sound had -Favorites are Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long

Hells Bells is an all time intro, still can’t stand AC/DC

Good but not quite great. Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me.

This is dad rock. Feels like the singer is trying to force his lungs through his nose. Awesome guitar riffs though.

Good hard rock party album but its not something I go back to. I do love Hells Bells though.

not my thing

sehr cools album. d lieder fetzed mega. allerdings hani s erst mal sini stimm wükli aglost und er schreit mir z fest.. s isch mer z wenig mehrstimmig und generell harmonisch z wenig interessant. drum es guets drü:) back in black gfallt mer am beste, de rhythmus vode gitarre machts mega. di restliche songs töned vode rhythme und harmonie all so biz ähnlich..

Straight forward rock, not my thing. 3 stars

If you’ve ever heard an AC/DC song you pretty much know what you can count on from them. Catchy guitar riffs and adolescently-pleasing lyrics that are fun to shout along to when you’re in the mood. I give them props for their reliability. Somewhat cliche, but not in an annoying way. 3.5 rounding down since I honestly won’t seek this out for another listen under normal circumstances.

Hells Bells og tittelsporet er helt knall, et par låter til er passe gode, også er resten ganske forglemmelig.

Solid rock! Klassikkoja jossa ei tehdä mitään väärin. 3/5

Megahitit toimii kyllä, ja niiden ulkopuolellakin oikein jees levy. Ei nyt ihan nelonen kuitenkaan.

this was burned into my childhhod brain and i can't listen to it anymore or else it would have 4 or 5 stars.

Allora, non si può dire che è brutto. Però poi si scende nei gusti personali e a me gli ac/dc non piacciono. Beccati ste tre stelle e buona.

Not great, but not bad. There were some bangers, but it did kind of feel all the same. And his voice is a lot to handle for 45 minutes straight.

Great riffs, silly puns

It's fine. Obviously Back in Black is a classic as is shook me and hells bells, but honestly, all the songs sound the same. Guitar work is fun, drums are trash, his voice gets old, lyrics are misogynistic and lame. I get that it was a different time, but in 2025, it doesn't hold up for me.

Chris Candido!

Bastante bien, con dos bombazos por encima de todo: Back in black y You shook me all night long.

Repeat listen

I messed up and almost listened to metallica. Woopsys! :p Anyways, like many kids, I was exposed to a lot of AC/DC by my parents. When I was younger, I was kinda uninterested in music as a whole since so much of my childhood felt built to make you think music is boring (like why have a music class at a school if you only teach about classical music and play a recorder???). AC/DC was never really able to break me out of that boredom, which is fair, it's not their job to help ME specifically get into music, and now, I honestly still don't feel too much about them. This feels like a very people pleaser type of album. A lot of "Sick rock'n Roll™" and hard rock solos. Despite that, There doesn't feel like a whole lot here. Title track is still great, but the rest feels a little too derivative of it. It's good, but I don't feel a lot about it. 6/10

Great but not something I like

It's kind of a known entity at this point, but not top 1000 material IMO

Needed more dick jokes

An absolute classic but very same-y after a few songs.

Not really my type of rock, every song sounds the same imo, but it’s Back In Black. Can I really give it a low rating?

Great riffs and kinda fun, but not something I'll listen to regularly.

it's all right, just a little too hard rock for me.

This is a good album no doubt. However this kind of classic rock is fun to listen to in short doses. So a full album of AC/DC is too much for me.

Classic rock band. A little on the heavy side for me however, I'm always happy to hear Back is Black. Good album overall.

Favoriten Let me put my love into you You shook me all Night Long

I had forgotten that AC/DC are Australian! Solid metalish rock with several familiar tracks, but trying not to listen to the lyrics.

Not my favorite music genre, however, I understand why this album is on the list. AC/DC is iconic & they have masterfully produced fine musical & lyrical album.

Their 7th album. 1st album with Brian Johnson. Hells Bells is a great intro track and a track with a great intro. Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long are both brilliant rock tracks. Solid lyrics and guitar licks throughout with some great drumming too.

I used to look down on ac/dc as shitfart dad rock but... It's summer, I'm feeling good, listening to hells bells just made me think "hell yeah"

Clean, good energy, Brian Johnson’s voice is amazing and a great fit. Edging on parody sometimes with the titles and play on words, but of it’s time and true stadium rock energy. Enjoyed the stocatoed guitar and break downs/build ups. Interesting to know the background - 7th album! Singers death, black cover and second best selling album in history! (3.5)

Feels weird to put two AC/DC albums on this list given that every one of their songs (except Hell's Bells) sounds the same. Like what more are you gonna get out of listening to a 2nd AC/DC album that you didn't get from listening to the first one. That said this does have most of their best songs on it, so I guess listen to this one? Or don't. It won't change your life either way.

Weird listening to this right after a Stones album, there's definitely a through line there. Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long are deservedly classic, but outside of Hells Bells (due to the... bells) everything else sounds largely the same due to the lack of varied musicality in Brian Johnson's lead vocals. I don't really understand screaming passed off as vocals in general, let alone when it's falsetto.

Opening is great, after that it's just quite generic isn't it? I'm stunned by how highly rated this is!

Never really liked AC/DC, for some reason they sound very same-y to me. Having said that, didn't mind this album. Not my favorite but not bad.

It's good, not really my everyday kind of music but I don't mind hearing it on the radio.

Op zich wel lekkere rockmuziek. Ik vind de schreeuwerige stem wat minder, maar het past ook wel weer. Leuk album. ***

Ok. Clearly influential, just not to my taste.

I bought this album at 14 during a family vacation in Florida. As a young person getting into earlier rock music, I was not prepared for AC/DC. As an adult, AC/DC's particular brand of rock and roll isn't as potent. Their fascination with "rock-'n'-roll life" and getting laid feels quaint and juvenile. That said, some of the jams are undeniable ("Hell's Bells", "Shoot to Thrill", "Back In Black") and some level of nostalgia prevents me from tuly disliking any of it.

This was a great album for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Good Aussie rock.

à part quelques riffs très cool on se fait chier imo

This is such funny music, such shrill vocals! But idk I enjoyed it enough. Said this last time I think, but I am surprised again that they’re Australian

As an Australian who likes rock music, I'll admit this is the first time I've listened to this in full (gasp!). In saying that I knew every song, even the ones I didn't think I knew. Maybe because they all sound similar? Or because AC/DC is played everywhere? There's no denying this is an excellent album and I appreciate why people would love it. It's big and full of energy and full of songs you can bop and sing along to. In the scheme of things it probably deserves a higher rating... But for me personally it's something I wouldn't choose to play much and I'm gunna give it a 3 but very close to a 4. 6.5/10

Yeah good

All their songs sound the same!

It’s an AC/DC record. There’s some awesome songs, but even though almost all the songs sound the same, most of them are less interesting. The vocals grate after a whole album, as well.

I had a big AC/DC phase for about a year and a half in high school; I've not considered them anywhere near a favorite band since I was probably 15 or 16. I still like the big hits on this one fine enough, especially the title track, but Brian Johnson wears me the fuck out over the course of a whole record. Gimme Bon Scott-era AC/DC any day of the week; Dirty Deeds #1 in my listography FTW. 3/5

The iconic vocal style does absolutely nothing for me…

AC/DC are the kings of turn-crank music that never strays too far from a tried and true formula. A punchy 4/4 drum pattern that never wanders, some distortion laden guitar, and snarling lyrics with a 2 to 5 syllable repeated chorus around which everything else is built (Back in Black, Touch Too Much, Hells Bells). The overall effect is that you can pretty much spot an AC/DC song from a mile away, and if you didn't devote a year or so of your youth (as I did) to any particular one of their albums, you could be forgiven for mistaking one interchangable song for another until they hit you with the chorus over the head. Although it is somewhat boring and formulaic, I would be wrong to deny AC/DC of the fact that this formula is highly successful and well-executed. There is a reason they got big (just like Nickelback) -- the formula is comfortable and occasionally capable of producing great songs (Highway to Hell, Back in Black). This album is a rock staple that for all it is seems a bit overblown in my opinion. On one hand it serves as a formidable reentry into the rock world following the dramatic untimely passing of lead vocalist Bon Scott. On the other the formula is a bit tiresome and outside of the hits there isn't a ton that stands out from the pack. It succeeds along many fronts: solid production, punchy radio ready songs, and a strong introduction to their new front man Brian Johnson. The album is tight in the sense that no track feels completely unnecessary or unwarranted. There is a certain quality to the crafting of each song that feels high across the board. With that said, each song sounds similar to the last. Add also that Let Me Put My Love Into You is downright rapey ("Don't you struggle, Don't you fight, Don't you worry cause it's your turn tonight..."). High points for me are Back in Black, Shoot to Thrill, and Givin the Dog a Bone. For me this is a high 3 of an album. I never hate listening to it, but rarely am excited to put it on.

Never been a huge AC/DC guy and this didn't change my perception too much. Obviously there are some hits I am super familiar with. Feels very much the same from start to finish though. Although I like Brian Johnson's voice, it pretty much sounds the exact same on every track here.

I love the music, don't love the singer at all

It is what it is.... ok rock and roll.

A bit too rowdy for me, but not bad

Classic but dad rock

They know how to rock so they rock. Pretty simple yet awesome stuff. It's kind of hard to listen to the whole album cause the songs sound so similar. But hearing any of these songs on their own is always so hype.

I enjoy the clear musicman ship in most heavy metal records and AC/DC delivers. The vocals are fun and the build ups deliver .

Не впечатлило

The Young brothers are great. I know people like Phil Rudd's solidity; but to me he's plodding, leaving me feeling like, "this band would be great if they weren't on Quaaludes." And there isn't a lot of range in the songwriting/arranging. It's pretty much nine variations of the same song. When they dial it in (Back in Black / You Shook Me) it's fantastic, but I'm bored well before we get there, and bored again when the high point is over.

great guitar riffs - a true classic

Great guitars, but the vocals are not my thing.

joa nett

Not my genre of music, can appreciate the talents they have.

it was nice to listen to this album while the lyrics dont speak to me all that much the rest is pretty good all around i also feel like not all songs are on the same level i would say that this is not a bad album but i dont particularly love it either, im not sure what to rate it but 3/5 seems most appropriate

Fun rock album, not very deep and they don't seem to take themselves very seriously. Some stinkers on here but also some definite classics like back in black and you shook me all night long.

i really tried to like it—I did—but it just felt kind of pointless and repetitive. it felt like a random group of middle schoolers threw on some costumes, grabbed some guitars, and started playing poorly. i feel like there was way too much screeching in the songs and not enough actual singing. i think if i could hear brian’s voice more instead of all the shouting, i would like it better. what is strange to me is that i like metal and all the shouting that comes with it, but this is something else entirely. it is not metal—it is just poorly executed singing. all forms of singing, including metal, use different parts of your voice, requiring strength and effort, but this did not seem to require any exertion, and the singing lacked talent altogether. like, if you cannot sing, then please do not—or at least just play an instrument. i do not know, but i just cannot stand his voice, unfortunately. i think some people may like this because of the energy they clearly put into it, but it just gave me anxiety. i might try to listen to it one more time to see if i change my mind, but it is just too much for me. i did not really like any of the songs this time. i thought i liked “let me put my love into you” because of the really cool guitar riff—until he started singing. i know some people did not like that song because of the lyrics, but for me, it was entirely the singing since i actually liked the lyrics. i do like “you shook me all night long” because i can actually hear him singing instead of growling into the mic. also, side note: i do not understand the obsession with “hell” and their random song titles like “shake a leg” and “have a drink on me,” but maybe that is just me. they sound like they are trying to be edgy and punk but executing it horribly, and it just comes off weird. overall, i do not really think 80s rock is for me—especially not this band or at least this album, since i have not heard their others. maybe some 80s rock is tolerable for me, but this just was not it. i wanted to give it 2 stars, but for now, i am keeping it at 3 because 2 just seems brutal. 💔

Perfectly fine, a little monotonous but catchy riffs. "You Shook Me All Night Long" is the clear standout.

AC/DC’s sound is iconic & their influence is immense. They set the standard for the bad boys of rock & roll. Some of their songs are fantastic, but others are repetitive and/or sound the same. The vocals are epic at times & just screechy at other times. This is a three.

I know what this album is supposed to be but urgh I find it tiresome. Just like maybe I should thank them for their contribution and leave it in the past ere it belongs.

Das Album trägt richtig dick auf. Fette Gitarren, coole Riffs, treibende Drums.

Really like the intro to Hell's Bells Pretty good once you get past the screaminess

Not my favourite, but not bad.

It's not bad, but it feels like just one track playing over and over again for 40 minutes.

Most would go into this waiting for the title track, and its surprisingly vulgarly-written companion piece on the second side, You Shook Me All Night Long. These are of course the tracks that got and still get radio play, but the stand-outs here are the opening two tracks on the first side instead. Before diverting into the whirlpool of Aussie-Geordie conglomerate repetition of hard rock by at least the infamous track 6, Hells Bells and Shoot to Thrill open this album incredibly optimistically with the immortal intro to the former, and the addicting guitar work that extends through the latter. I don’t explicitly like Brian Johnson’s vocals, but I certainly don’t take a heavy dislike towards them - and he has done a bloody good job of replacing Bon Scott, I don’t think anyone’s denying that. One of those landmark albums that isn’t necessarily great, but is no doubt noteworthy.

Ok, so, AC/DC are not a band I’m interested in at all, I have always felt so indifferent to them. But this was not too shabby, if a bit samey after a while. Some fucking huge tunes on it, and I am a little surprised I found it so palatable!

I find all their music sounds the same. This album has never wowed me.

They seemed so dangerous when I was in 5th grade. Still solid.

if you hate this you probably hate rock and roll but i’m no longer sure i don’t hate rock and roll at least a little bit

Classic rock 🤘🏼

Heavy Metal not my cup of tea. That said. This iconic album, I will give three stars. The lead singers voice is really jarring. He would be better off bring an accountant, saving his voice, and enjoying the weekends for a change.

Big Back in Black-Songs About Fucking

Boring. All the songs sound basically the same. Only 3 of the songs were actually memorable. Favorite song: You Shook Me All Night Long

I'm not much of a fan of AC/DC, I don't really know why. I like their overall sound and will occasionally rock out with my amp on full playing "Hells Bells" and "Back In Black". Perhaps it's Brian Johnson's voice, it doesn't really appeal to me. Guitar riffs and solos are decent, but I just can't get past those vocals. Perhaps it's because it's the same feel/tempo all the way through. Sorry, middle of the road for me.

MAYONAISE ON A ESCALATOR! ITS GOIN UPSTAIRS SO SEE YA LATER! just another hard rock album. pretty badass but also pretty insubstantial outside of that. there's like only two songs on here i ever like to hear again (obvious one is back in black, genuinely an amazing song deserving of all of its praise)

Bin kein großer Fan der Stimme

some fun songs, some really whiny and repetitive vibes

The music rocks, but I can't take Australians seriously in general, and definitely not when they're singing like this.

Listened: 7/02/2025 Album no: 16 % rating: 69% Fave Song: All Night Long AC/DC are one of them bands that I’ve listened to loads, but never actually sat down and put an album on. Absolutely fantastic classic rock, great guitars, phenomenal tone, banger riffs. Just all round a lot of fun. Great to listen to this one.

Bit misogynist but banging guitar riffs. Would enjoy with the right context with beer and friends but wouldn't listen to on my own

I didn’t realize I was listening to a new song until I recognized a chorus. It’s not for me, but I understand that it’s iconic. Best I can offer is 3

Some fun hits but overall not my bag

I think a part of me wanted to like this more than I actually did. halfway through I was thinking that this album was a strong four, but by the end I just found most of their songs to be repetitive and it dropped it to a three. I could listen to their hits, but a full album of simple/repeated lyrics was a bit tough.

every AC/DC album should get 3.5 stars

There are a few good songs on here but lots of generic filler. I don't love AC/DC to begin with but this album feels like a precursor to all the garbage hair metal of the next decade.

i’m too much of a dork to like this

Classic bangers for sure, but kinda for the lowest common denominator

Anthem rock, judt like the other album of theirs I've had. There's no denying their energy. And I'm sure concerts of theirs were absolutely electric when everyone can sing the very simple and repetative choruses. There are rock staples here, and while definitively "dad rock", Back in Black is still good. My favorite that I didnt know was Shoot To Thrill.

Maybe if my local classic rock station didn't play AC/SC at least three times an hour I'd like this more.

Ultimate stadium / gym rock album. Lyrics are basic, riffs are 🔥, bad day to be a PR Hells Bells, Shoot To Thrill, Back in Black, Shook Me All Night Long

Classic Rock 101

More fun listening to this than I expected but wouldn't be rushing back to it. An unusual number of references to legs and thighs. Seems like guitar solos are a lot less popular these days. 2.5/5.

Obviously some bangers on here, but it's all a bit boyish for me. Not sure we need a whole album of this music, the songs we all know are enough? The silliness is enjoyable, and impressive vocals. Back in black would be a good one for karaoke.

The poster sound for what I think of when I think of "rock" This is an album where the best songs are the most popular songs. I don't think there are many gems among the deep cuts. The second half of the album is the better half. a good sound, but can get a bit monotonous sound and structure wise best tunes: back in black, you shook me all night long, shake a leg 🇦🇺

Acdc classic, songs hit or miss

This is a greatest hits album that was released before the hits themselves. This is good, but also kind of bad if you note that an album is not exactly only a collection of good songs. All in all, I like the album, but it lacks at least some storytelling. It starts high and keeps going high until the end.

“I’m sick to death of people saying we’ve made 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we’ve made 12 albums that sound exactly the same.” ― Angus Young, AC/DC The nice thing about AC/DC is you know exactly what you're going to get from an AC/DC album. Shrill vocals, driving guitars and bass, and a heavy drum beat. It delivers in that case. Pure rock and roll. I'll definitely sing along to most of these songs again the next time I hear them.

Solid album.

Big, ballsy, unpretentious ROCK N ROLL with a timeless quality. Am I personally fucking tired of this album? Yes, but I'm not stupid enough to ignore how big of a seismic shift it made in the rock genre. As a drummer myself, I can't help but roll my eyes whenever I see "You Shook Me..." or "Back in Black" appear on a gig setlist. But at least Phil Rudd had the decency to make his drum parts stupid simple (not a dig at him - these songs call for stupid simple drumming, and by god he delivered).

Someone’s review already said it all. If it’s not broken don’t try to fix it. First time listening to a heavy rock album (?) and this wasn’t a bad place to start. It was fun, it was silly and it was well played. Surprised by how much I enjoyed, but not mad about it.

okay yeah this is more my speed. ive listened to this album before (father driving car music lmao) but not for a while so nice to revisit! i have it on w the obligatory writing background 72 hours of heavy thunderstorm/rain sounds while i do some narrative design/writing. this is so cheesy lol i do love this shit, now im having a hard time getting thru the album bc i keep restarting songs to hear fun bits again...the classic trap. the unfortunate thing abt this album is it Is all sex innuendos and further classic str8 guy misogynist sex innuendos [uhm emoji]. givin the dog a bone is like "im literally going to say shes blowing me but it doesnt count somehow" [uhm] [let me put my love in you comes on] OKAY BUT I DO LIKE THIS ONE. EVEN IF "CUT UR CAKE W MY KNIFE" IS ONE OF THE DUMB LINES OF ALL TIME. awww yeahhh back in black riff hello <33 i do think you shook me all night long is an overrated(?)/lower tier song on this album but the solo is okay. this is a very frontloaded album unlike the cure one lol, i keep going back to listen to earlier songs on repeat. rating: 3.5/5 bc of the gratuitous misogyny. would i buy a physical copy: maybe but it would depend on how cool the vinyl disk and the sleeve art were. standout songs: hells bells, shoot to thrill, let me put my love in you, back in black. greatest flaw: heterosexual men are disgusting

My biggest stumbling block with trying to approach this album on its own terms is the fact that it's just not "cool" anymore. I have heard each of these songs 100x between innings at baseball games, during Nike commercials, rocked out to by elderly people at rural wisconsin sports bars. Any transgressiveness or shock it ever had has been so thoroughly metabolized into American monoculture I feel myself hearing each of these opening riffs with a hostile eyes-rolled posture. I loved this album when I was 15, I think every 15 year old white boy on earth has some sort of inexorable pull toward pirating this album, a jumping off point toward what came before (led zeppelin) and what followed (guns n roses). It's to the album's credit given all the aforementioned factors that a piece of the visceral impact of each of these songs remains miraculously intact. The production and recording on this album is so perfect it hurts, one shade the more one ray the less would half impair its nameless oomph. What the half dozen instantly recognizable songs on this album may lack in technical complexity, expressive range, or really anything other than brainstem minor pentatonic guitar riffs over flatly shrieked vocals, they make up on the backend with immaculate structural choices (each song seems to cannily know when the listener's focus might wander) and the quiet control and restraint of the band playing in perfect balance with no one ever trying to steal too much of the limelight. I like it less than stylistic cousins, the aforementioned guns and roses and led zeppelin both give us albums with much more interesting material that feels less disingenuous, for all of this album's popularity and visceral impact it's always felt very calculating and cynical to me. The drums never get off of the shit-stupid 4 patterns, every chorus is teed up with the same obvious prechorus, the lyrics of each one are the same gutrot 1980 innuendos that only boomers and old gen x-ers could ever find cool or alluring. But for generations to come there will be kids with their first electric guitars that feel nothing but awe and inspiration from this, and unironically that's not nothing. Ultimately listening to this album to me feels like the 1 in 100 meal at McDonalds where all your food turns out right and you get the fries straight from the fryer. It's not the most nourishing or interesting thing I'll eat that day, but in the moment I'm happy to enter a fugue state and just let the perfectly engineered proportions of salt and grease hit my brain where it's supposed to. Fave tracks here: Hell's Bells (best modulation on the album in the chorus, perfect buildup) Shoot to Thrill (the breakdown at the end here might be my fave thing on the album) Back in Black Rock and Roll aint noise pollution Least faves: what do you do for money honey Have a drink on me Shake a leg Probably a 3.5/5 for me for an album of extremes. Both brilliant and stupid at the same time, both meticulous and a bit lazy

If you asked me 20 years ago, I probably would have given this a 5. Unfortunately for them, I’ve listened to a lot more music in that time frame. I remember getting into AC/DC in my youth as sort of an act of rebellion against the yacht rock my dad listened to. It was the quintessential turn the amps up to 11 kind of record. Re-listening all these years later and there are still things that stand out. First and foremost, the Young brothers playing and riffing off of one another almost telepathically. Another thing that stands out is Mutt Lange’s production. This is probably his peak of capturing the rock and roll sound in a way that’s made for stadiums rather than small clubs. Lastly, Brian Johnson steps in without missing a beat after the loss of Bon Scott, matching both the sound and attitude, and actually elevating the band to a level they had not previously seen. As for the overall thing, I’m big on songwriting and lyrics. AC/DC? Well, they’re not. While the in-your-face approach works in a way with their sound as a big middle finger to the late era disco stuff that was happening at the time, the subtlety and delicacy of what I desire to listen to aren’t there. Plain and simple, most songs ever written are probably consciously or subconsciously written about sex in some manner and the beauty is sometimes in how well it’s disguised via metaphors and other emotions. Not our friends here in AC/DC. These guys fuck. They want you to know that they fuck. They want you to believe they’re never not fucking. They want you to know that they will rock & roll, but as soon as they’re done? You guessed it…back to fucking! Anyways, 3 stars because it’s a fun sound that influenced a lot of what came immediately after, at least musically. Not came like cumming came although… Also, there’s no way that they saw into the future and knew 45 years later that their shirts would be a top seller at JC Penney’s, but alas, here we are.

HA. My father’s love of classic rock has led me to this moment. First of all, AC/DC was always better with Bon Scott at lead vocal, so this album, while solid, doesn’t scratch the itch that the 70’s albums do. First of all GOD the double entendres are a lot. It’s like Angus and crew wanted to make a whole album of “Big Balls” and then a couple of solid rock songs. If you ignore the lyrics, the riffs are still really good. Angus Young is one of the few rock guitarists who had his own tone and feel, even if it was bar rock supreme. “Hell’s Bells” is still a fucking great opener; “What You Do for Money Honey” has awesome riffs and chorus. The second side has a lot more impact than the first though - starting Side 2 with “Back in Black” and “You Shook Me All Night Long” is inspired. One thing you notice on listening deeply is they really beefed up the production - you hear a lot of buzz and noise on the Bon Scott albums and this sounds pristine. And for AC/DC, I don’t think it’s a good thing. This just misses how propulsive and powerful the band was in the 70’s. Beyond just the hits, the band straddled the line between punk and arena rock, and this album firmly put them in the latter. Still, “Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution” remains one of my favorites of theirs and a consummate album closer. The slow build, the crowd effect - it’s a fucking awesome rock tune. And a fitting tribute to the lost rock legend at the front of the band. I just wish the whole album had that vibe.

One of my closest friends loves AC/DC so I feel a little bad that I don't really like this. It's certainly unpretentious, rollicking, no-bullshit hard rock. It just gets same-y and oversung. Apparently this is the second best selling album of all time, which kind of surprises me. It also smacks of sexism a bit, but I can write that off as sex-idiot rock flavoring, I guess. An AC/DC song on the radio once in a blue moon is a treat. A full 45 minute album of AC/DC wears out its welcome. That all being said, the title track slaps stupid hard.

Not my cup of tea but "You Shook Me All Night Long" is a great classic rock song. It's probably the type specimen for classic rock in that I can't think of another song that best defines that genre. I'd like to give them a 4 or a 5 on the strength of that song alone, but the rest just isn't up to it.

some killer lots of filler

Bad boy boogle post Bon Scott's death, it still rocks. Sold massively but I think I preferred earlier stuff. Note. Still massively cock centred and massively sexist. Word. 3.

Not a fan and i cant properly rate it

Anyone rating this a 5 should immediately be barred from voting in elections of any importance. Like anything over where to order in lunch for work. Maybe even that. I'm glad I'm listening to this at work. At home, I'd be forced to go into my garage and drink an 18 pack of Keystone Light while thinking about finally working on that trans am on blocks in the yard and hoping my old lady isn't overcooking the pot roast. It's as AC/DC as it gets, isn't it? Thinly veiled sexual innuendo at every turn that just happens to have Angus kicking ass while Brian Johnson burns up his throat. It's fun, it's sometimes catchy, it's usually the same, and our simple human brains like what we've heard repetitively. It's like if Nebraska were kind of fun. Not a lot of fun, and definitely stupid junior high stunted-growth fun, but kind of fun. There's nothing really WRONG with enjoying this album, I just want to raise my kids so they don't.

#metal, totally, but would like some more darkness behind the eyes, whereas these dudes seem pretty well-adjusted. Still, Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long totally rock. This is some of the best guitar ever, and the frontman isn’t cutting it by comparison

damn i really feel like a white suburban dad with this one

AC/DC has 1 song

Remember when it was released. Disappointed with some of the tracks due to the misogynistic lyrics. An ok album

pretty good

hells bells is alr but gets quite repetitive i like the beat of shoot to thrill all their songs are super repetitive w rly simple structure. seems to be a million choruses but still i enjoy their simple beats, even if they do drag on a bit towards the end of the songs. back in black is always quite a banger. after listening to the lyrics properly for the first time of the first couple songs it’s not a great theme, quite sexual but oh well

Classic, but not my taste in rock really. Best track - hells bells

The definition of classic heavy rock, you can smell the patchouli oil. Not a great deal of subtlety, think it was taken out, got drunk and given their ‘love’. Out spinal taps, spinal tap ( where the parody only come close). From the black cover, the tight rhythm section, power chord riff on riff, helium vocals and let’s make the chorus the same line only so you get it, and the lyrics, see spinal tap book of innuendo. Big and dumb, but sometimes that is all you want or need. Does what it sets out to do which is rock ya. And the production is so on the money.

frekar skemmtilegt. hrátt/einfalt þungarokk er það sem mér líkar best. 3,5.

Rocker jo hardt

I didn't give it a really good listen but I think the songs I enjoyed the most were Hells Bells and You Shook Me All Night Long. However, I don't think I'm a huge fan of listening to the main voice for too many songs in a row. It gets kind of tiring (like I start to get tired for him) but that's just my personal opinion.

An enjoyable rock album that doesn't have a ton of range or emotional depth (at least on the surface). A good time, and I think the popular culture has already canonized the songs worth saving from this album.

Some good ones in there.

As I've gotten older, i think I understood it better... some belting guitar links here and it works soooo well, as far as I'm concerned, in films and the like "Iron Man" a prime example. However, I can't help thinking that with a more exciting drummer (can't beat a standard 4-4 for the majority of the album) and a less screechy vocalist they could have been SO much better. I know ACDC are popular as f*ck, people love them, maybe because it's safe people rock, I don't know 😕 I don't hate it but I just don't love it. 6/10

Listened to this heaps when it came out but haven't played it for over forty years. Still good but I've moved on somewhat. Fairly simple musically, it's practically the same song repeated, School boy lyrics and my old nemesis the drumming.

The comeback. The return of ACDC. Honestly it's just a bunch of songs of sexual innuendo. But then again alot of music is just that. I much prefer the bonn Scott days.

out of all the butt rock, lowest common denominator rock that bigot dads like, this is one of the better ones.

⭐ Hells Bells

Good, not great

Sick guitar, annoying voice

A pretty solid hard rock album that many would consider a classic with "Hells Bells" and " Shook Me All Night Long". Still just a 3 for me...

Aika perus rokkia. Ok albumi, mutta ei herättänyt isompia tunteita. Paljon klassikoita. Basic hard rock. Ok album but didn't make me go "Wow, this is incredible" at any point. Has plenty of classics.

The album has three iconic anthems: "Back in Black," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and the lesser-known "Have a Drink on Me." However, this is not a sound album per se, but a relatively flat collection of songs, some of which have become classics. Many of the songs are quite repetitive.

It's big and dumb and oh so fun. High 3s.

pretty consistent sound

Apparently one AC/DC album was not enough.

I actually enjoyed this album more than I thought I would. I few like I’ve heard all of these songs at some point but had never heard them all together. The lyrics are definitely dated and spinal Tappy but the album still has a freshness to it and sounds great. People must have reacted to it the same way they reacted when the darkness released their first album- it amidst plays like a greatest hits album.

Very samey. Not a huge fan of the vocalist either. Obviously Back in Back and You Shook Me All Night Long are highlights but the other hits are pretty poor imo. Not a fan. 2/3 Stars.

3 out of 5. One of the classics, and rightly so here.

Great album - hit after hit. I'm not the biggest AC/DC fan, but all these songs were great.

Classic rock

Kwam er moeilijk in maar toch een klassieker. Ben toch niet zo fan van het geschreeuw maarrrrr ik heb Angus Young live gezien dus alsnog drie sterren.

All sounds the same, 3 for the classics and nostalgia

Good album

Knew two songs, overall repetitive and quite inappropriate for work. Some songs have not aged well but can understand why it's been influential

Good music, hard not to nod/tap your foot to it. However very repetitive in lyrics and beat

Hit the sack

Classic

For those about to listen to Back In Black, I salute you. Sorry, just like Highway To Hell, it's not my thing.

Classic, 3.5

my school once kicked off an assembly with back in black, before the resident "hard man" teacher came out and told us about some strict new rules for that year

Ihan jeppulisti, vaikka vähän kulunutta. Odotuksia parempi kokonaisuus, joka pitäisi kuunnella uudelleen.

tons of hits on this but not really my thing. reminded me of guitar hero

A classic band, some iconic riffs. One of those records where musically I enjoyed it but it was just a bit too long to listen to the screechy vocals 😬

A classic album for those that are into the genre

some seminal songs, straight to the point rock n roll. hard to argue with its merits, but its a little basic sounding for me.

Kiitos AC/DC:n sedät tästä valistusalbumista, Rock n roll ain’t noise pollution. Ja ei tämä sitä olekaan, etenkin b-puoli on yllättävän hyvä (nimikkobiisi and You shook me all night long kantaa!)

Kuulemisen arvoinen LP. 3+

I never understood the phenomenon behind this band

I’ve never listened to an AC/DC album before, so here are the true virgin thoughts(except the hits) of the band’s biggest album Hells bells: Kinda what I would picture if i think typical ac/dc tune, really nothing special 5/10. Shoot to Thrill: Very similar and I am already getting a bit annoyed at his voice but I quite liked the ending where there actually seems to be some change in sound so 6/10. What Do You Do for Money: They really have a formula and it’s really not the best one either. I dislike this one a bit more just because of the chanting 4/10. Givin the Dog a Bone: Yeah don’t like it, the call and response really doesn’t fit the music imo 3/10. Let Me Put My Love Into You: I quite like this one, I’ve already realised I’m not a AC/DC fan but this is the first song I actually see a reason a person could like them 6/10. Back In Black: Classic for a reason 9/10. You Shook Me All Night long: Good streak going now. This one’s a bit overrated in my opinion though becomes repetitive after a while 6/10. Have A Drink On Me: the chanting finally goes well with the tune 7/10. Shake a Leg: Guitar was cool, not the chorus 5/10. Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution: Nice ender, guitar wasn’t over the top like what I’ve gotten used to 6/10. All and all it’s ok. It’s rock for the masses not much to it. 1/1089

This could be the school of rock soundtrack I wouldn’t know Fave tracks: Hells Bells Shoot to Thrill Back in black - absolute classic, first riff I ever learnt on guitar Let Me Put My Love Into You made me feel a bit sick

Great music, dated sensibilities.

Crazy how they put all those songs from marvel movies into an album. I do be liking hells bells tho

AC/DC is fine. Nothing challenging here, very accessible. Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long are the standouts.

Overall, the album sounds good, but I just can't get past his voice. 3

Бодрое музло, но мне не дает покоя тот факт, что ац/дц уже лет 50 играют одну и ту же песню

What is there to say. It’s fucking AC/DC. It’s not high art and it’s not pretending to be. I wish there was more, but that’s like wishing my air conditioning also served ice cream. What did you expect?

Ironman /20

Reminds me of the Preppy kids at Highland High in Utah in 9th grade (1992-1993) they loved this one - i think i've only heard the hits on this one - i really like the bon scott era ac/dc i have one of the records on vinyl 'let there be rock"

Back in Black is the seventh studio album by AC/DC, originally released in 1980. I'm not an AC/DC fan. Like at all. I find them boring and juvenile at times. Almost on the same level as KISS. But I would be lying if I said that this album doesn't rock hard as fuck. That guitar tone alone is enough to make you go deaf. And this thing is mixed loud too, almost like a wall of sound. Every track on here is a rocker too. Most of the songs are very basic, and that is their biggest drawback. Most of the hooks are just repeating a phrase over and over. Or some sexual innuendo. If I was like 12 in 1980 I probably would've loved this shit.

It's unpatriotic of me - but AC/DC don't really do it for me, like KISS, I also find them a bit pedestrian. But respect for plying their trade with skill I guess

probably the best ac/dc album, which still makes it an ac/dc album after all

Undeniably a classic, but personally I'm not a fan. Too loud and dumb.

2.5 jeg vidste hvad det var.. ikke så specielt, bare acdc

listened to this out loud on speakers while working out, a good accompaniment to a walking work out first album from this project shorter than i thought

Not a fan

It wasn't interesting to me. Johnson's voice puts me off this album. The songs were quite good actually. I think the first track was my favourite. At least the record wasn't as long as that Ella Fitzgerald album I reviewed yesterday. I'll give "Back in Black" 3 stars.

its ac/dc back in black like what is there to say . its fine i mean its a solid album but i dont really care and i dont like the main guys voice enough to listen to any song more than once

Filled with iconic riffs, there's an unfortunate element of arrested development in this classic's lyricism -- misogyny remains rampant, and the pitfalls of excess (that had just taken the life of their previous lead singer) are still righteously celebrated. Vocally, Johnson steps in admirably for, and perhaps even surpasses, Bon Scott's previous turns. Despite its flaws, most of these heavy-hitting tracks are irresistible and have (sonically) aged quite well. My favorite work of AC/DC. Listened to: at home. Favorite tracks: Back in Black, Hells Bells

alight, fun

not really a fan of hard rock metal but this is pretty decent album for me. i think i heard back in black somewhere. seems familiar.

Incredible introduction of their new lead singer. It is straight forward rock that does not offer any nuance or depth, but I like it. They are a party band that makes no apologies for the fact that they very formulaic. Even a casual listener knows at least one of the songs on this record (hello “You Shook Me….”). With this band, you get what you get.

I was surprised by how grating I found this. (I wasn’t in the right mood for this kind of album, to be fair) 2.5 rounded up

Very good just not an album I could listen to often

There is so much great stuff on this album but there’s so much absolute trash as well. Hells Bells is incredible and kicks things off perfectly, and Shoot to Thrill is another great tune, but the rest of side 1 is pretty naff (Given the Dog a Bone is particularly rough). Side 2 starts very strong as well, with a classic one-two punch of the iconic title track and the anthemic You Shook Me All Night Long, but then lulls again before the strong if less impactful closer. Some real highs and lows across this, which just results in a pretty good but generally unsatisfying album

Rating: 7,5/10 Highlights: Shoot To Thrill, You Shook Me All Night Long, Back In Black

Every track is a shredder, las ik ergens. Back in Black is wel echt hard. Voor mij is You Shook Me All Night Long wel echt een fave. Iets in de timing van dat nummer is zo lekker. En de titelsong is een pareltje natuurlijk. Misschien komt het door de lekkere streak waar we in zitten, maar ik gun de mannen van ACDC lekker 3 sterren. 7,5/10 Highlights Back in Black You Shook Me All Night Long

Fav: You Shook Me All Night Long Least Fav: Givin The Dog A Bone

Some great tunes but I struggle with Brian Johnson's screechy squawk over a full album.

Spinal Tap quality lyrics; basic as hell guitar riffs and song structure; glorifying alcohol abuse after your last lead singer just drank himself to death; being Australian. Nothing about this should work, but it unquestionably does. I hate hair metal and glam rock and all the shit that either owes its whole existence to this record or all the shit that came before it that AC/DC perfected on Back in Black, but this album cannot be denied. It has the depth of a Petri dish, but what it does it does exactly right. If you don’t like Back in Black, then you don’t like to rock.

Classic rock gets boring

Lots of good songs but I'm tired of listening to this type of music lol

This band has never hit the spot for me, but it's not bad music!

el álbum favorito de los señores +50

I'd happily ignored this album, leaving it to the black clad bogans at my high school to make their personality. But decades later... it's ok. ACDC do hard rock very well, the sort of music the precisely demands it be enjoyed with a group of your mates that you can drink along and shout along with the lyrics.

Solid album. I'm not sure how to feel about this one. The songs are iconic and the sound/guitars are excellent. I'm a little weary of Brian Johnson's vocals, and this also suffers from overexposure in terms of commercialized music. It's also all just arena rock. ***

This was big when it came out my senior year at high school. I have not listened to it start to finish since. All the riffs! I enjoyed hearing the cuts no longer in heavy rotation.

Definitely one of their better albums, but I have heard a lot of AC/DC in my time so I'm kind of tired of it. Although this is probably the one I'm most likely to recommend.

Legendary and blah-blah-blah... Not my music at all, still it has some decent songs

Got this After back to black. Funny. also this is just too inoffensive to the ears. if I listen to metal I want my brain to be mushed an d not slightly caressed

Love the production on this. Sounds so warm and alive. ACDC know their lane and stick to it. Pop gem in You Shook Me All Night Long.

Overrated band solid album. 3/5

AC/DC have always been a bit of an iffy band for me. I do enjoy some of their more anthemic, arena rock songs like You Shook Me All Night Long, and I always appreciate the high energy. However, generally, I find their music to be quite repetitive. A lot of songs follow the same formula to the point they sound nearly identical. This has seemingly worked for them, as they are still one of the most popular bands on the planet. I understand why they have a general appeal, with their energy, easy to follow music, and blaring choruses. I just wish that some better bands got just as much, or more acclaim. Basically, I think AC/DC are overrated. A lot of the riffs are fun though.

STANDOUTS: Hells Bells Back in Black You Shook Me All Night Long OVERALL: 3/5; pretty much ALL the big singles were my favorites. It's a great album...if you're into loud male noises, I guess.

Dull yet good

Classic

A good introduction to hard rock, far from be the best of the best of the genre.

Hells Bells // Back In Black // You Shook Me All Night Long // 3.5/5

There are some great songs on this album. if you want rockin or rocks sake, AC/DC is your band. Is this great music, probably not. I can only take it in small doses. Would I love to see an AC/DC concert? Hell Yes! It would be a spectacle. Would I wear earplugs? Of Course, because I’m not that young anymore. But their greatest hits are awesome and there are many songs on this album that fit in that category. The rest sound very much alike and it’s just okay. I’ll ask my cycle class instructor to throw a couple of these songs on to get me motivated. You need to be in a mood to listen to this.

Some songs were a vibe but a few did feel like they had the same exact tune

Riffs, Riffs and more Riffs. Great Riffs. Punchy production. Every track sounds similar, obviously. The formula works. No comment on the lyrics or his voice!! I wouldn't listen to this again but will definitely hear them on the radio 😀

Bloated . Not my cup of chai

My problem with this album (and AC/DC in general) is that after hearing the opening riffs of the first song, you've basically heard all they have to offer. Their entire music catalogue is based upon different variations of the same, bluesy-sounding guitar riff... which is fine, I guess, because it's catchy as hell. At the same time, it does get old at some point, especially if you're listening to one of their albums front to back. I think I'd be able to appreciate this album more if it was at least lyrically compelling, but my god, this has got to be the horniest, most perverted and at times disgusting thing I've ever heard. Just to be clear—I don't mind the occasional song in that tone, but the entire album is basically them spelling out how much they want to f*ck, anytime, anywhere, with some sprinkles of misogyny thrown into the mix... And that's exactly why the only way I can listen to this album is by pretending I don't speak English. 3 stars because yes, it's catchy (at least before it starts to drag halfway through), and I do occasionally go back to songs like Back in Black, Hells Bells or You shook me all night long.

This album is hit or miss, but that’s due to the nature of what hard rock was in this period. As a genre, much of it blended together with uninteresting song topics and similar, high pitched belty vocals, and while I think thode describe AC/DC’s “Back To Black”, the band pulls through with some very entertaining songs, mixed together with songs that define why I don’t love ‘80s hard rock as a whole. This is one of THE albums of that era and that genre, and that makes a lot of sense.

I liked the songs I already knew (Hells Bells, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long) and wasn’t wowed by anything else.

Classic rock, fine

1. hellz bellz - 2.5 2. thrill - 2 3. money honey - 1.5 4. dog a bone - 1 5. love into you - 1 6. back in black - 3.5 7. zhook me all night - 2.5 8. drink on me - 1.5 9. zhake a leg - 1 10. pollution - 1.5

Pure Rock and Roll! Highlights: Back in Black, Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution.

Mucher better than I thought it would be, although the vocal are a bit too screechy. Other than that a good rock classic.

An interesting album, which reminds me a bit of Led Zeppelin. Despite some tracks being iconic, the overall project feels a bit monotonous and it feels like every song resembles the others…

Nitbthat bad but always sounds a bit gimmicky

definitely an influential album, but if it were any longer Brian Johnsons voice would grow stale. Some instrumentals sound very similar but it is still enjoyable

This wasn't terrible. I've never been a fan of AC/DC, but enjoyed it enough.

My feelings about AC/DC are quite complicated (sorry, Dad). There is a definite energy and presence in the band but none of it can undo the sickening monotony of the songwriting. No matter how different or rhythmically intense the riffs get, it feels like the result is always just a mid-tempo rocker.

AC/DC is a band that I will never desire to listen to on my own, but when they are playing I will still always enjoy them. This album is fun and infectious and even if it doesn't fall within my personal style preference, I still appreciate it for what it is.

Thought I would hate it (not into hard rock) but was quite okay

3/5. Some landmark hits that still have frequent radio play. I'm not a big fan though. The rhythm section might as well not exist, and I don't care for the singers voice.

I kind of like Back in Black, I almost like Shake a Keg (instrumental parts)

AC/DC is unfortunately one of those overplayed bands for me. I'm sure the album is an important one, but I'm just... so tired of AC/DC. Also, I mean this in the highest respect. Brian Johnson sounds like Animal's cousin. I love the Muppets, so that's a compliment! Favorite Tracks: - Guess. I probably like them, but I'm not in any rush to play them again.

pre listening notes: oh more rock! happy rainy april let’s rock and roll. the only song off this album i know is You Shook Me All Night Long but that’s good so. so i did listen to the album but not like i normally do. bc usually i do these at work or on the way to work but today i did it after work. so i was high. and i just laid in bed and listened to the album. and it was good! it did sound samey a bit from song to song but it didn’t annoy me. i did know back in black, i didn’t realize. the best song on the album by far. i do have to rate it 3/5 because of the things i said before & i think the ac/dc songs i knew going into this (thunderstruck included) represented the band well enough, i didn’t need to listen to a whole album. but i get the hype

Damn we got all the classics.

The album’s a classic with a lot of fun songs but at the same time it does feel very basic and samey at times

If there's any AC/DC album that can be enjoyed as a whole, it's this one. But my God, are the drums monotonous.

Lol good. Glad I saved this for squat day

Tough one to rate. On the one hand, there are timeless classics, a few hits and decent filler songs by a band that pushed Hard Rock and Metal into the mainstream, especially with this album. On the other hand, the majority of songs feel kind of dated, one dimensional and unexciting. 3.5/5

Straight hardrock from the 80's. Hells Block!
