The first track was great
Vanilla. It was fine but likely will never listen to this again in my life.
Have never heard of these ... Reasonably good folky Americana style music
Kevyttä rockia southern tyylillä. Rentoa ja samaan aikaan välillä intensiivistä. Parhaat: Silver Raven, Some Misunderstanding
Cool and interesting songwriter album. 3/5
Gavin Clark Country dude? Pretty solid music strength of strings was good little country but I liked it Calm music Gordon light foot vibes 3.4/5
Sweet and harmless.
Classic country meets folk
ya lo escuche
No Other // Strength Of Strings // Some Misunderstanding 3.5/5
This kind of record is not for me. But it was good for what it is. To me it's rather forgettable. Though I did enjoy the record as it went on and became less twangy.
Meh.
Mid.
Top notch country rock.
Pleasant enough. Neil Young esque
Nebenbei gehört, war weder gut noch schlecht,
Quite pleasant. Nothing stand out, except that 'Life's greatest fool' is very similar to Neil Young's 'From Hank to Hendrix'.

Easy listening
There's so much more to this than meets the eye in the first two songs. It really kicks in with "No Other", which is ahead of its time and makes a strong impression. Followed up seamlessly by "Strength of Strings", and going a bit sleepy with "From a Silver Phial", the moving "Some Misunderstanding" re-igniting interest... but it does revert to quiet yee-haw type stuff by the end. Although the last song, "Lady of the North", does have interesting, innovative sounds and it draws the album to a close in a pleasant, reflective way. So a mixed bag. Worth a listen and has some stand-out songs. But some forgettable ones. (And not as impactful as "Stephen Stills".) I'm glad I heard it.
Big 3
Pretty good! One song on the playlist
This was pretty decent.
3.5 I’d never heard of gene Clark and I would say that I enjoy his sound very much. Especially the ethereal sounding tracks
I didn’t mind it. Would probably like it more if I grew up in that era.
It's ok, a bit before it's time I guess in 1974. Maybe I'll relisten at some point ..........
Highlights: Strength of Strings, From A Silver Phial A commercial flop upon release, praised by critics, dubbed as "a lost masterpiece" years after Clark's death. Think Neil Young but with blues/jazz/gospel flourishes. Some long songs but they don't feel long. This will require repeat listens to appreciate No Other. Give it a chance. Overall 6/10
Strong 3
Quiet and easy. Beautifully written. Strength of Strings really stands out
Better than I was expecting. Kind of a country sound with moody blues vibe
Alright surprisingly. Rung below Neil Young some good tracks. 5.5/10
A bit too folk-y for my taste. Still a vibe though. Highlight for me was "No Other".
Yea it was ok
I will listen to this again
Not a fan of country, but I enjoyed some of the tracks where it didn't dominate. Mixed bag overall.
Knowing nothing about Gene Clark (other than he was in the Byrds), about 10 seconds in I was ready to skip, but glad I stuck with it, turned out to be a pleasant enough album - many tracks felt a bit middle of the road, but a few standout bits that piqued my interest. 3.5
I liked it ok
Reminds me a LOT of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. Didn't hate it. Didn't love it.
Pretty good. Nothing which grabbed me and wouldnt let go or anything, but pretty good. 3/5
nice enough. not very interesting.
70’s alt country. Would put on again
So 70s, so folk, can’t believe I’ve never heard this before. Reminds me a bit of Neil Young
Turns out I like it alright when american country music decides to use the wah wah pedal more
Mys
Mediokert
Bra musik men lite slätstruket det var inget som jag fastnade för direkt Bästa låt: No other
Some catchy tracks but probably not an album I’d seek out again.
a vaguely psychedelic rock journey that's fine and cool and a bit forgettable
I'd like to rate it right Both of us need inspiration And the timing must be right 3 is right. Interesting history of the album. Nice and relaxed. Sorry Gene. Maybe timing is not right for me now.
Sad boy music 70s style
Some mildly catching tunes
Well, this isn't as objectionable as I thought it was going to be. In fact, I might go as far as saying I actually quite enjoyed some of it.
liked this more than expected!
3
Surprisingly good, felt like a complete journey. Too bad it went under the radar.
B- Life’s Greatest Fool - 3 Silver Raven - 3 No Other - 3 Strength of Strings - 5 From a Silver Phial - 3 Some Misunderstanding - 3 True One - 2 Lady of the North - 2 I didn't expect to like this. It absolutely reeked of a two. However, it was fantastic. It was a really interesting sound, and another example of why the generator is worth it. Great pick, hidden gem. Also, why did this sound like a country album for exactly 1.5 songs? This was NOT a country album by any means.
Rating: 6/10 Best songs: No other, Some misunderstanding
Country & western, mwah
Really liked the title track for the message it conveys. A life lesson in some way.
70s soft rock isn't really my wheelhouse so I'm not sure how much I will return to this, but it is cool as far as that goes. I like the psychedelic elements.
Neil Young and Grateful Dead vibes. I was not optimistic when I saw he was in the Byrds but enjoyed this.
Jo men jag gillar. Kommer antagligen lyssna på några av låtarna igen. Osäker på om ja vill ge en trea eller fyra.
Jag minns inte vad jag tyckte bara att jag ville ge den en trea :) Det lät Amerikanskt hahah.
I'll give it a 3/5. Not sure how often I'd revisit this, but I could see pairing some of these tunes with guys like Townes Van Zandt in a playlist and having a laid back afternoon.
Had a good time with this. Didn't know what to expect but it was a fun listen
cool folksy-psychedelic album
Great mix of country and folk-rock. Favorite: Strength of Strings.
It was ok. I think I might have listened to it twice because I got confused on days and didn’t recognise it…not sure if that’s a compliment or not!
Pleasant surprise, this is what I was hoping for with this list, something I had never been exposed to. Nothing too memorable for me, but I could see myself coming back to this if I was in the right mood.
Got my cowboy hat ready after that first song because I thought we were heading for a ride into the country but Gene surprised me with some decent stuff the rest of the way. Really good title track.
Pleasantly surprised by this artist whose career was marred with far of flying. Enjoyed overall but not sure if I’ll double back to listen to much of this. No other is pretty great
Pretty enjoyable.
It’s a Gene pick. This album is great for finding a bargain at a garage sale. I’ll be honest, I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. Don’t take this as some misunderstanding, the vocals/backup vocals were pretty enjoyable but I found the songs kinda basic. Don’t chalk me up as life’s greatest fool though, I see the merit in this album and would absolutely listen again. But if I had to say if there was “no other” like this one? Nah, I wouldn’t say that at all. Gene’s not trash, but I’d consider him a true one.
Doesn’t quite spark for me. Perhaps with further listens it might.
Not a bad record but quite unneventful. they really needed the feel of a lost record when they hyped this one didn't they?
In the bucket of good records I wont be coming back to. Feels like an album for people who got scared of music produced by later generations.
7/10
A very well recorded singer songwriter album from the 1970s. Not much else to say. 3.5/5
Completely inoffensive. Wild that people hated it when it came out, I mean it’s not gonna blow your sock off, but it’s easy to listen to
Never heard of Gene Clark before. This was alright.
vai kotisohvilla maksetaan 50 euroa pdf tiedostoista... no eipä halvaksi tule heh... lausahdus ''Another one of those albums that's probably really good if you grew up with it, but now is just more of the same' hyvin sanottu siellä, top revie-eveissä oli tuommoinen! seamus
Solide aber auch nichts herausragendes 6-7/10
It was good, I kept getting pulled in at moments but the lulls would come and I found myself zoning out. Silver Raven and Strengths of Strings were the two standouts for me. May need to give it another chance. 3 stars
me gusto el tema no other y strengh of strings
Finding out that this guy was lead singer of the byrds for some time is definitely not a surprise. Like why does the byrds have to be so heavily featured in this book??? And like the Byrds this album is cool but forgettable and fairly unnecessary (It doesn’t have many similarities to them other than that though). Still quite nice though 3/5.
Folk-rock-country. Ni fu ni fa.
I had another Gene Clark album just last week and was pleasantly surprised. This one did not exceed my expectations at all though. It’s ok.
Not my speed but we still listened
Definitely had higher highs than the last two i listened to. I bet my dad would love it. I thought it was decent enough
This reminded me too much of Neil Young, whom I'm not a fan of. I did like "Silver Raven” though.
Kos, men hvordan kom plate mednpå 1001-lista?
3.5
Funny to read that this was so critically eviscerated when it came out. Very inoffensive and some pretty solid tracks. Nothing that made me think twice though. A high 3.
‘Lost’ albums become that way for some appropriate and deserved reason, usually. This one doesn’t seem to have deserved it apart from anything save for its not-of-this-era qualities. It was jammy with notes of funk. It sounds like some of it could have been easy listening-Parliament Funkadelic. Perhaps it’s a cautionary tale - all too common - against losing your soul to addictive good times and being a prick.
Not a bad album here by gene Clark. The sound is similar to Emil young but with a bit more country and rock involved. The songwriting is pretty good and I enjoyed most of the songs. Nothing really blew me away as it was pretty similar throughout but the album wasn’t as good as white light. Would still revisit. 6.8/10
More 70s hippie music more lazy protesting
Niks aparts, aardig
Nicely produced folk rock
I really love the Byrds, and Gene Clark undoubtedly played a key part in what made that group unique. It’s one of the great music injustices that his audacious solo efforts fell largely under the radar, but does that make his most spectacular flop a lost masterpiece? To my ear, no. It’s definitely a grower, and I may regret giving such a middling assessment of this record if I keep returning to it enough. But while the rich production and extremely ornate flourishes of brooding psychedelic country are unquestionably standout elements, I can completely see why critics at the time were indifferent to Clark’s vision. Descriptions of this record are ultimately far more interesting than the music’s immediate impression - it’s very much a subtle sidestep than a giant Kraftwerk -esque leap forward. The same applies to Nick Drake, while the suffering artist whose acclaim is consigned to posterity is a nice redemption arc, the fact is that at face value this record sounds like a bunch of quasi-country singer-songwriter efforts at the time. Yet, whereas Drake’s songwriting carries a kernel of truly distinguished genius, I’m not hearing it on this one. It may continue to grow on me, but it’s simply a good album to my ear. Nothing more.
Good background oldies music.
the only country album I would even consider listening to fav song silver raven and no other
im not a country girl and folk is very hit or miss for me but i can imagine myself on a porch going back and forth in my rocking chair with straw in my mouth looking at the sun set on the prairie fav songs: silver raven, no other, strength of strings
It was fine, I wouldn't listen to this type of music usually so it was cool to listen to it as part of this challenge. Found it a bit boring, but some of the arrangements and guitar parts were beautiful. The craft behind the album is also apparent. I respect it more than I enjoy listening to it. 6,6/10
As a child I was touched by Gene Clark. His music inspired something in me. I became very driven and determined to make it as a professional footballer. His words are incredible and were the perfect backdrop for all of my lifetime achievements. He also physically touched me. He touched my bum and my penis. I love him.
This is ok, better than most of the output of the various Byrds. If you like middle of the road '70s folk country rock then fill your boots.
2.5
Nice
That’s one druggy crisis of faith.
Something to put on while focusing on something else. Nothing exciting, but nothing bad, really. Could listen to it again, although I probably won’t. 3/5
A nice change of pace and a good listen, though a lot of it went to the background for me. I'll probably give this another listen. Seemed like there was something going on here.
Can't quite recall when my expectations before going in have been so comprehensively met. Before going in I thought it'll be tasteful, well executed country-tinged soft rock...and that's exactly what's here. A less generous appraisal is that this is a wetter Pacific Ocean Blue, a notch up from Bread or a notch down from Gordon Lightfoot. What I'm trying to say is it's fine. A little po-faced and worthy, but good laidback Americana for all that.
Yes this ok, a nice listen, without me thinking it's the best album ever made.
Pretty good, and not at all what I expected.
STRENGH OF STRINGS
This one was okay but I can't say that I would ever spend hours rifling through boxes of semi-alphabetically organized vinyl at the local record store trying to find it.
Decent for 70s music but nothing stood out to me
Cool
Folk-rock-country. Ni fu ni fa.
I’m digging the 70s stuff lately so this was decent but not the hidden gem it’s made out to be. Because of Lee Sklar and the rest of the band, this album is worth a listen
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
Meh. Another one of those albums that is not awful, kind of pleasant really, but not memorable. Found myself more interested in listening to the next album on the list once this was over than listening to more Gene Clark. Still I don't understand why it was so panned when it came out. It's just kind of doing it's own thing, not hurting anyone. Ignored, sure. Completely & perfectly bland and average.
It's alright, this one.
Solid mid 70's folk rock - not sure why this was panned on its release. CSNY vocal harmonies, folky songs, solid production - it doesn't sound dated at all. Some people apparently claim it's the best album ever made - they're wrong. Butdon't let that put you off as it's pretty good. Best Tracks: Life's Greatest Fool; No Other; From A Silver Phial
Old school
First few tracks okay but nothing that grabbed my attention
It's very alright just not my cup of tea really.
First time listening, It's a nice group of calm folk country songs Favorite: Silver Raven
Interesting country album, enjoyed the listen
Très bon album, mais y'a pas de chansons hits comme les comparables de son époque.
I was digging it.
This was kind of nice; nothing really jumped out but it was all pretty enjoyable
Enjoyable but unremarkable.
Leans a little further country than I'm into. Clark was one of the Byrds' better songwriters, so there's a lot to enjoy here. I just don't know when I'll do that again.
Psychedelic country. I’m glad I heard it, and I’d like to check it out again, but I don’t think anything here will become a favorite of mine. Does sound very dated.
Solid album, but it seems a lot of tracks sound the same.
Very pleasant album
Funcionou bem, tanto vocal com guitarras mostraram um rock de qualidade com contry.
Best Song: Some Misunderstanding. A lengthy, epic of a song that goes places I didn't expect. Worst Song: True One. This feels like the genre standard that I expected. Solo vocals for the loss, as well. Overall: Although I don't typically like this kind of music, I found it quite compelling here. I think the inclusion of choral vocals added some excitement that would have otherwise been missing.
Songs I liked: Silver Raven No Other From a Silver Phial Some Misunderstanding
Not too bad, easy listening
A bit of a folk/country rock mix by Gene Clark, one of the founders of The Byrds. The album has a very interesting story of early rejection and a comeback just before the death of Gene. So going from a literal trash (in the eyes of critics), to the status of cult album that it received in 90s and apparently still has nowadays, as seen by the presence on this list. In my opinion "No other" doesn't deserve either of those 'accolades'. It's a solid album, strongly holding the spirit of early 70s with a slightly psychedelic infused country/folk record. It doesn't have any standout moments, the atmosphere and level is equal from first song to last. "Life's Greatest Fool" is a perfect example - very anjoyable song, flowing with its own tempo, very southern like vocal from Gene and exciting choruses make it a perfect song to listen to in a diner somewhere on a road in middle Texas. Maybe if I will travel to US again, I will put this album on and just enjoy the road. But until then, I don't think I'll come back to this record often.
Good guitar solos 7/10
It's a nice album! Nothing blew me away, but it was pleasant to listen to. I don't think I'll come back to it a lot, but if it was already playing I wouldn't mind.
Pretty good, I'll listen to it more
Liked.
Some beautifully orchestrated, thoughtfully written songs with a solid roster of musical talent. It's a surprisingly underheard work, and a must hear if you have an interest in country rock. Fave Songs: The True One, Some Misunderstanding, Strength of Strings, From a Silver Phial, Silver Raven
Despite what critics said, neither is it a career-ending failure nor the greatest album of all time. Somewhere in the middle.
Really nice folksy country. The album didn't completely grab me but I really need to listen to it again. Wish you could alter your score on here later but I will give it a 3 today
Started really well, last half not as good.
OK, so I read (after I listened) that critics lambasted this album and Gene Clark never recovered from it. I would say that's harsh, and sorry, Gene. I liked the album, it was enjoyable, relaxing. But is it one that I recommend someone listen to before they die? Meh. Now, after I die, sitting in Gene Clark's heavenly living room while he strums and sings along...that sounds pretty good. : )
Decent album. Seems like Gene Clark ushered in the wave of rock-country. Best Songs: No Other, Strength of Strings Worst Songs: Life's Greatest Fool
Dont care much for the all out country, songs, but some good ones beside them.
Like it. If it's a 1001 questionable... (6/10) FT: No Other, Strength of Strings, Some Misunderstanding
I like this singer, it's the kind of music I like heard but I dont' know him.
Overall I did like this. A lovely sound, very atmospheric for a different time and a different place.
Melodic and chilled, if a bit aimless. I enjoyed it but I can't remember anything from it 5 minutes later.
Very Neil Young vibes. Doesn't surprise me since he was a member of the Byrds which weren't far away from Neil Young. Pretty middle of the road 70s stuff nonetheless. A few songs I liked but otherwise it does sound similar to other albums from that era.
After listening to the last post for, Napalm Death, this is a breath of fresh air. Easy to listen to and skilled musicianship made this listen enjoyable.
decent album. I enjoyed the first song but the middle end started to get fairly unremarkable. 3/5
nothing special
Drugs are bad mmmkay Fave: Strength Of Strings
Non un fan del country/folk, ma 'Silver Raven' non è male. Non è malvagio, ma nemmeno indimenticabile.
pleasant folk rock
Sick folk album
Interesting. Loved the folksy, bluesy sound. Easy listen and would listen again.
We have both types of music, Country and Western. But seriously, before the Fleetwood Mac we all know and love there was this album. Never heard of before but still got a very nostalgic feel from it. If you love Fleetwood Mac then listen to this.
Life's Greatest Fool was a good song. I didn't like Silver Raven so much; Clark's voice isn't well suited to this style of singing. No Other is a great song; has enough cowbell to make Blue Oyster Cult jealous. Strength of Strings sounds a lot like Neil Young. From a Silver Phial sounds a lot like Pink Floyd. Album kind of lost my interest after this point until Lady of the North, which I kind of liked towards the end. 3 good songs, but then the rest I didn't particularly enjoy.
Wasn't bad, wasn't great. I sorta don't remember much about it already. 3/5
Production, playing and singing is solid but not my cup of tea. It's was good for what it is. The more psych cuts here like No Other were cool.
Listened to on 3/11/22 3.5/5 Favorite song: life’s greatest fool, true one Folk rock with a country vibe! great background music with a few hits
Interesting mix of brilliant folk/rock-ish with crossing the line to boring country-ish. He was a very good lyricist.
Righteous.
I was not expecting so much of this and I received exactly what I expected. Nothing special to say about this release
oops... silver raven goes hard
I wasn’t paying much attention after the fourth song, but this album worked well as background rock noise.
Fine. Country folk.
3.5
I didn't know the album, but I liked it for the most part. For some track I really just wanted them to end so that I could move onto the next, though.
Passable Neil Young/Tom Pettyish country folk. Just surprising it came this way and that, for such quality, I've never heard of it.
Typ en annorlunda Neil Young? Jättebra ljud för en gammal platta!
I think this rating has the potential to creep up over repeated listens…
Op zich wel leuke muziek, beetje mix tussen country en de beatles. Helaas geen nummers die er echt uitspringen voor mij. ***
This had the feel of an old country singer deciding to embrace the music of the time and making an epic, psychedelia-tinged opus (I had no idea he was part of The Byrds). Pretty good on the whole; the title track and Lady of the North were my highlights.
Some decent tunes, but didn't keep my attention the whole album. I preferred the Byrd's album
Interesting lyrics and album cover.
The gets a 3 based on the album track. The rest just kinda blends into nothingness its not bad but its not earth shattering
Good just really forgetable to me.
Pretty decent. 6/10
This was fine. Some good tunes just not my style.
A massive improvement over his previous album White Light. Production sounds amazing. His songwriting is a little better here. Vocals are still good, but he's overshadowed by all the other sounds going on. Like in the previous album, he's not putting his all into the songs; he sounds unenthusiastic. Not a fan of the more country songs. Favorites: No Other, Strength of Strings, Some Misunderstanding
3.5 stars. I’d never heard of Gene Clark before and this album gave me some nice CSN&Y vibes. I would call this early alt-country and as a guitar player I enjoyed the solos.
I'd probably listen to that again
Good music.
Meh.
This was good, pretty groovy and a nice vibe
Americana on average
Definitely worth a revisit. Interesting, engaging, meaningful. 6/10.
At first I was hesitant to listen to this because I'm not a fan of Folk or Country, but I was pleasantly surprised. This album was made in 1974 but it's held up really well and sounds like it could have been made yesterday. The only dated thing about it is the cheesy Art Deco design of the album cover. Excellent songwriting and performances are highly evident here and I actually listened to this record twice this morning. I particularly like the Strength of Strings, which was subsequently covered by This Mortal Coil. This one takes a few listenings to appreciate which is always the case for really good music with depth and subtle nuance.
Zzzz
7/10
It's fine. Not bad, but really that good either. It kind of reminded me of John Prine's self-titled album, but between the two, I prefer this one by a lot.
Very traditional country and western of an era. Quite slow paced and down tempo. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
Boy, this screams California. From the opening seconds and on and on. At first, it seems like that will be the album's downfall. It's slightly lush guitar music, adopting inland tropes to be captured in LA and piped slickly to ears. My love for guitar music is ambivalent, and I continue to distrust the instrument. But use a slide or coat those vibrations in psychadelic fuzz and you've hit me right in two of my big musical weak points. The ingredients are all there, but I'll need to listen more before I can fall in love. The songs all get room to breathe, but they open up somewhat inconsistently. When they succeed - the title track is an example - they are magnificently beautiful.
Dreamy 70s psychedelia
Chill, nice to occasionally go back to listen to and pay a bit more attention to. Apparently this guy was the frontman of the Byrds.
Generic old-school Eagles style country rock. A few good things here, and nice in the background, but honestly mostly forgettable.
Very Stephen Stills, pleasant
Nice relaxing album, the anti-MC5.
This was a collection of well-produced, arranged, and sung songs. Nothing remarkable or interesting about it though.
3.5/5 this might be interesting, i'll have to relisten
More authentic than his other album, but still not something groundbreaking. The album lacks dynamics between the songs.
Better than his previous album because it's more of a personal sound and not so Dylan esque however still a bit lacking to give it a 4
Not my thing, it's ok
Meh. Probably just not in the mood though.
3.5 if I could
ganska bra
Not exactly my cup of tea but I nodded along and enjoyed it. Feels a little self important and artsy. At its worse it sounds like the Eagles. But not a bad listen at all.
I don't know, at times it was very pleasant to listen to, and at times it was just boring. A conflicted 3
Seemed nice on first listen. Look forward to hearing it again.
Better than I was expecting, made for unoffensive background listening but I probably won't give it another listen
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would after listening to the first song.
Vällllddddiiggttt nära en 4. Blir tyvärr bitvis för mycket countrysound. Men när folk, country och rock balanserar och samsas perfekt, som i Silver Raven, blir det himmelskt magiskt maffigt! Bästa låt: Some Misunderstanding. Eller Strength of Strings. Båda stora, melankoliska, sorgliga, mäktiga.
A fascinating album from an interesting artist. Lots of backstory on its making and initial critical failure. Listening to it now, it’s a good album that stands on its own.
Some songs were good but maybe the others just need a second listen. Pretty good overall
I think the thing I enjoyed most about this album was the tension you can hear between Gene Clark wanting to dive full force into the lush, opulent folk rock of the mid 70s but still stay true to his country roots. Creates a pretty fascinating dichotomy to listen to even if the songs never really captured me.
Not bad
Quite nice, pretty chill. Not much else to say really
Best Song: Some Misunderstanding Worst Song: No Other
Sasvim solidan i dobar album. Sviđa mi se, ne toliko da bih dao četiri, ali sigurno dobar album.
pretty good but also just kind of average
in terms of 70's rock there are others that i think are better, but this wasn't bad. i was also stressed the entire time i was listening, probably because i was trying to knit simultaneously life's greatest fool, true one
where did he come from, never heard of him it's ok, sort of sad.
Más country americano del líder de la banda The Byrds. Nada del otro mundo para mis oídos.
Classic song writing from the Byrd. Lush warming production with some nice guitar licks. Seven on Ten
Fine, but did not really grab my attention.
Meh
Very Neil young
Verrassend, prettig album voor tijdens het koken.
I think if I listened to this more it would grow on me. Silver Raven was an awesome song.
Very American, some 70s pysch undertones midway through, album not for me
mellow CCR type vibes
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Like it
Enjoyed this album; melted into the background for me throughout in a good way and was just a pleasant listen. Would be a nice record to have on in the background but not actually pay attention to. 3.5 but rounding down bc no standouts
Eclectic, a slice of Americana, not bad
it wasn't bad, but it didn't have anything particularly interesting going on either.
Meh
Sunday listening
I feel like I recognize a lot of these songs but they're all kinda similar so maybe it was just every one after the 1st one haha. Sick album art, and no other was my fave off this
Not bad. A few good songs
3.5 - Sounds like sipping ice tea on the porch on a summer day listening to grandpa in his rocker reminiscing and pontificating. Some understated guitar work. “No other” is definitely a standout - I love the bottom-heavy sound.
This was nice. I literally don't remember much about the album other than it sounded decent in the background. Great voice.
Overall not sure if it's for me. Some misunderstanding is a highlight
Pop suave, un tanto ñoño, de los 70, respaldado por una buena voz. Sin muchos alardes, le falta algo de ímpetu o de sorpresa en algún tema. Aun así, se deja escuchar por su simpleza
first couple of tracks seemed like it was from an earlier period instead of the 70's. chill music.
Ok
Semibängeri Classic rock emt
Very calm and good background music to relax to. Sounded like the Eagles with a bit more country influence.
Eric Clapton with a banjo. Loved the big bass lines throughout, especially on No Other and Silver Phial.
6
No Other Some misunderstanding
Not my favorite genre of music but it was en enjoyable listen
You're trying to convince me this isn't Neil Young? Good Luck...
Not bad, gave me sort of a country vibe. If I'm looking for cruising tunes, this is a great album.
Has some good moments.
Had no idea what to expect. Nice, easy listening. The best song on the album is Silver Raven
I wasn’t familiar with the artist but I did enjoy the album.
Not bad, not great, I'll definitely check him out tho
I really liked it, got grateful dead vibes, I appreciate that the songs were distinct (sometimes albums can sound like one song). will probably listen again
The tragic backstory of this album is more interesting than the album itself, in my opinion. Not bad by any means but not my thing. Solid 3 on the Blood and Chocolate Scale ™
Was new to me. Felt dated but not horrible
Behagelig Countryrock, med lidt psykedeliske undertoner
A good balance of genres here. I enjoyed listening, but nothing really stood out to me. I'll give it a 3.5, leaning towards a 3.
This is a new one for me and was easy listening - a bid reminiscent of other artists who i’ve heard of. Although it has a soothing factor for maybe a cocktail lounge, its overall kind of meh.

Eh
Thought this was gonna be another country album masquerading as something else that snuck past the sensors and instead it's legit half country and half funk R&B. I liked that half. Hated the cowboy stuff. Could listen to the Eagles level country stuff but didn't enjoy it.
Bastante americano y atmosférico
Country rock and cosmic Americana built from lush orchestration, layered guitars, rich harmonies, and soulful vocals feels like watching a magnificent sunset that simply refuses to end—beautiful, ambitious, and eventually a little too enamored with its own grandeur. While the album constantly reaches for transcendence through lavish arrangements and emotional sincerity I just want to sleep
langweilig
This seems to be a fairly ordinary country rock album, not something I'm keen on, but pretty inoffensive. Wikipedia says it wasn't critically well-received (supposedly due at least in part to the over-elaborate production) leading to its early deletion from the catalogue. Of course that opens it up to critical reappraisal by modern critics! Personally, I thought the production was fine.
Nothing stood out as amazing on this album, but it was not bad. It just was... I guess.
Would I listen again: no I just got irritated with this and idek why. His voice maybe? just go away
this is a perfectly decent folk rock kind of album that doesn't sound wildly different from CSN, Neil Young, or other similar artists in the genre. Most interesting thing about it is the context surrounding it. Liked it ok, don't feel like I was missing out
Just another album I’d probably never listen to if it wasn’t for this list 1 listen isn’t enough to make an actual judgement because u forget by the time it comes to rate what it was like
Album is okay, but largely forgettable. Slight variation to country was a nice touch, but it still was lacking something. 2.5/5 Probably won't listen again
Høres litt ut som Pink Floyd. Men en slags billig US-versjon. Kjedelige greier
Listened to disc one - was fine but again, largely unessential
Vibes were … interesting? A somewhat light trippiness. Wasn’t really my jam / didn’t do too much for me. Wasn’t super jazzed about the country-ish songs. 2.5
mid ass classic folkslop. Nothing really stuck out to me.
No es mis estilo, repetitivo.
True One is great. Rest is okay.
Tää oli aika huttua. Ei jäänyt mikään biisi mieleen.
Good album, but requires a certain mood to get the most of it. Not gonna come back to it often, though I enjoyed lyrics and backing vocal. 4.9 | No Other
