The album still sounds as fantastic now as when it released. Sure, it's a touch long, but when the only real criticism I have is that there's a bit too much of something I start sounding like my missus.

I didn’t know this, wasn’t even sure what genre it is, but of course Ms Jackson which is still in my head 24 years on. Hip hop interestingly from Atlanta and not East Coast or West Coast - Southern hip hop. Much more than a rap LP though, soul. Ms. Jackson sounds amazing so much better than I remember it. Stunning production. André 3000 & Big Boi share the rapping. The instrumentals are rich and varied, a range of genres. Lots of Prince sounds & techniques in here, but more modern. The vocals I don’t like so much, that relatively high pitch delivery but it does set them apart. ‘BOB’ is a standout I’d never heard this although it was a single. The whole LP is quality, full of ideas, freshness & energy, it’s uplifting hip hop funk & soul not gangster rap. André 3000 was a vegan. Big Boi is a big fan of Kate Bush. 73 minutes long 24 tracks, the double LP length is justified by the range of genres and ideas. The LP ends in yet another genre psychedelia. A great find, this is what this project is all about. Too much to take in on first listen. This is a rare 5 star rating on first listen I need more of this

SO FRESH, SO CLEAN REMAINS A CERTIFIED BOP. OMG and ms. jackson is on this album??? That's crazy actually this is hit filled. Ok I finished now. This was really superb. It worked not just as individual songs/skits, but as a cohesive unit. Tracks 4 and 5 are still the ones that stand out the most, but the whole thing was a great listen!!!

Will someone in hip-hop puh-lease resort to something other than calling women names? Or using their moans for dramatic effect, for that matter? Music's great, some lyrics are super deep, HATE the misogyny throughout.
The first few outkast songs I heard were on this album, as was the first time I heard Killer Mike and Ceelo Green. As is often the case with hip-hop albums, there is a fair bit of filler, and too many interludes, but they work in context and don't dilute the genius. Some of these songs will live forever (ever)
I’ve already heard this album. Probably my favorite by OutKast. I’m not a huge fan of the group, but the vibes here are immaculate.
OutKast’s third best album but fantastic and maybe their most fully realized sound.

lots of fun
This was the first Outkast album I owned...and it's probably my favorite as well. BOB blew my mind the first time I heard it and it still just sounds so unique. So Fresh & So Clean and Ms. Jackson are some of their best big hits and the album is full of great deep cuts as well.

There is some really great stuff on here but I downgraded to a 3 because I think my nostalgia/familiarity was causing me to experience more pleasure than I might have otherwise. Bombs Over Baghdad and Humble Mumble were both better than I remembered.

It's legitimately good. I'm not really a fan of hip-hop, but the songs are fun and a good listen at the gym or while on a walk. There's a style barrier there for me and even though it is really good, it's not really for me. That is completely fine, in my opinion. There are several good things that aren't for me and that's okay

I don't think I've ever listened to this album straight through ever, despite knowing I really really should have. An absolute masterpiece of hip hop. So many great features, and incredible production. Could do with less interludes, but that was how rap albums of the era were so I can live with it. Classic, but still a step below Aquemini / ATLiens. Could do with some trimming (Call Before I Come, all the skits) but there's loads of OutKast's best work on here.
André 3000 has such a distinct voice; especially in the world of hip hop. Stankonia has top notch production and, coincidentally, released on Halloween back in 2000.
Pretty fun but very long. It's interesting how rap flows evolve over time. You can definitely tell a 2000s rap flow from older and newer eras. Pretty sure this album was huge at the time. Miss Jackson is iconic of course. Killer Mike of Run the Jewels is on here. Not sure why this thing is so long though.
Very good. This was my first time listening to the entire album. Earlier I had only heard the popular songs from it. That heavy rotation is well deserved, because this album has a few five star songs (So Fresh, So Clean, Ms Jackson, B.O.B.). Last summer I attend a music festival where Big Boi was one of the headliners, and that was a great show.
Ooh another great album! I balked at the length of this one at first, and I do think it overstays its welcome just a bit, but there are so many great songs here, including the hits I hadn’t heard in too long.

Yes, I am bouncing. Thank you. This is probably my most listened to album since I first heard it in middle school. And that includes like, every album I’ve ever listened to. It was absolutely my introduction to hip hop. You have something really special on your hands when you’re able to use it as an entry point to a genre of music, while still having it be the GOAT in that genre. I had an old family friend who’s kid went to the same school as Andre 3000’s. She used to talk about how he would wait in the car pick up line with the other parents for school to end. He drove a Mitsubishi. They chatted about their kids a few times. I always liked the idea of Andre just being a normal dad, waiting for his kid in a modest car. Anyway, want to get more into hip hop but aren’t sure where to start? Here’s your Abbey Road.
I want to shout out OutKast’s three 5-star records preceding Stankonia (Southernplayalisticcadillacmuzick, ATLiens, and Aquemini—all of which SHOULD be on this list) and extend a heartfelt “Stank You” to one of my all-time favorite musical acts for this forever, ever masterwork.

Never had so much fun listening to the first half of an album, followed by a fat fucking nap through the second half. BOB, Gasoline Dreams, and Ms. Jackson all personal highlights Has a bar about taking a bitch up into the attic like Anne Frank, so instant +1 point for me 7.2/10

Some absolute classics on here like ms jackson and so fresh and so clean, which are the cream of the crop of this album packed with heat. Outkast throws a lot at the wall on here and not all of it sticks, but the ones that do, stick like glue. It is a long album but due to the variety on here it never grows old. Personal favourite tracks were gasoline dreams, bombs over baghdad and humble mumble
A wonderful, funny and diverse album. Lots of bangers.
It's another hip hop album, which means there's a lot of singing about dicks, niggaz, and threats to their rival musicians or gangsters. A few moments stand out like the chorus of Ms. Jackson, or obviously the entire Bombs Over Baghdad, which has a banging rhythm but it's more of the same "I told you I was awesome, didn't I?" It's not terrible, it's not fantastic. It's fine.

Gasoline dreams ganska bra. Roligt att prata om amerikanska drömmar och att konstapeln ska gå av en samtidigt. So fresh, so clean var den första låten nånsin som jag kände igen. I had heard of BOB but not really listened to it. I knew none of the songs where from this album or even what album they belonged to of Outcast. The interludes, so random, but this album is meant to be listened to as a Whole, THE WAY EACH SONG BLENDS INTO THE NEXT, but for individual listens love gasoline dreams, so fresh so clean, ms jackson, spaghetti juncition, xplosion, gangsta shit, GOOD ALBUM
Not an album I would normally listen to, but I recognize its importance in bringing southern rap to the front and center. I respect its influence but will most likely not listen again.
Vibrant collection of sounds. Each beat has so much character and layers on layers so that even the most laid back tracks have a million little things to catch hidden in the mix. The beats sound like they were thrifted how each fit is completely original. Choruses are so memorable and just like the beats, very versatile. Lots of sexy soul, lots of aggressive rap. All perfectly matched with the themes of the song. These guys have a knack for creating a concept for a song and sticking to it in every aspect. Insanely fun and full of character. This album is wild

A classic from one of my favorite artists that only trails off a bit at the end of a 75 minute run.
Better than any non Kendrick rap album I’ve heard in a long time. Good beats and not too much distracting side stuff. Feels old fashioned, with choruses and straightforward raps. Dre is weird and talented and with that voice, while Boi flows with the best. Close to four stars, but I’m in no hurry to listen again, so three. Still, the hits hit and the rest is just fine.

I was excited for this one and I have to say I understand why the hits from it are the hits. There was a few other songs that I think deserved more hype, otherwise this one didn’t live up to my expectations fully. Still an enjoyable listen overall!

"Stankonia" is the fourth studio by American hip hop duo OutKast. Outkast is André 3000 (André Benjamin) and Big Boi (Antwan Patton). The music is expansive incorporating funk, rave music, pyschedelia, gospel and rock into hip hop. The subject matters include sexuality, politics, misogyny and African American culture. The album was produced by Earthtone III (Outkast and Mr. DJ) and Organized Noise. Commercially, the album debuted at #1 in the US and critically had universal acclaim. "Intro" kicks off the album with a guy talking about going to Stankonia where all good things come from. Random city noise samples. This transitions into "Gasoline Dreams." Heavy guitar in the forefront and background. A slower beat. He's assailing the "bling" aspirations of the contemporary black culture. The third single "So Fresh, So Clean" is softer and dreamy. This sounds like it's right out the early 90' west coast hip hop (Dre and Snoop). The background synth give "Ms. Jackson" a chill vibe. This song was dedicated to the Mother of a Mother of a child born out of wedlock. A music box begins "B.O.B." It then kicks in hard with guitar, organs and a beat. This is intense and it keeps speeding up. There's female gospel backing vocals. "B.O.B." is Bombs over Baghdad and about music industry people going halfway. "Humble Humble" has layered rapping including Erykah Badu. Scratching...the drums kick in..it's speeds up and is funky. "Toliet Tisha" continues the varied second half of this album. Spacey guitars...a funky bass..synth lasers and a synth loop. Very R&B and funk. The album closes with "Stankonia (Stanklove)." Soulful. Gospel. A pyschedelic guitar. An appropriate ending. There is a lot of positive things going on with album. It's laid back at times. It's also very busy at times. The interludes between songs add character and comedy. This album has a certain flow to it. Some of these songs, I would put in the R&B/pop or pyschedelic genres and not hip hop. The one thing is that it sounds both fresh and futuristic even today. It is long and a lot to get through but a high recommendation.
A classic. So many great hits that capture a moment in time but are also timeless. It’s relevant, intelligent and whimsical. Defined who OutKast was and who they will always be.

I'm glad I listened to this one with my headphones on. Another album with a couple of songs I recognize, but nothing that would make me want to listen to it again.
Never listened to the rest of this album only ever hear a couple of the songs. Enjoyed it.

Some well known classics as well as some fun to listen too beats. A couple songs hurt the flow, mostly for uninspired lyrics/topics.

I’m conflicted because songs like BOB are some of the most interesting and unique sounding songs I’ve heard on this project. However I really hate interludes on albums, it ruins the flow for me, and some of the tracks are just bad, like the hoez one. Some of big bois lyrics are questionable to say the least. The album as a whole would be better if some songs were cut.

A funky nearly flawless southern rap classic. You can hear the labor of love this album was to create, the intricacies that can only be borne out of long hours spent on carefully crafted production. The only fault I can find is that it does feel somewhat bloated at nearly 75 minutes, a function of the longer length afforded albums from the CD era.
Heard before: yes Forever, ever? Like a seafood boil, this record is a bunch of delicious food just tossed on the table, all mixed up with each other, flavors everywhere. It’s internally contradictory, endlessly fascinating, and FUN FUN FUN! Even the skits are good! It’s just so easy and unforced - the rapping is all over the place: some is rapid fire, some is minimal, some funky, some melodic, some nonsense, some progressive, even some thoughtless machismo. Often all in the same song; it’s all out there bouncing off each other. Similarly, the music is a summary everything we knew about groove in 2000; a pupu platter of funk. I’m pretty happy I referred to both food and poopoo in this review. I think my work here is done. Top tracks: B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad), So Fresh So Clean, Gasoline Dreams

They seemed to try really hard to be as annoying as possible. A difficult listen.
For the 2nd day in a row, I desperately want to give out a 5, but the album is just too long Stankonia is a 50 min masterpiece in a 75 min album. I get that it is intentionally wild, free flowing and unpredictable but it’s a little too loose for me. It’s incredibly creative and innovative. A fusion of just about every genre you can think of. It’s potentially the best hip hop album of the millennium. Andre 300 is genius, unquestionably 8.7/10

I enjoyed this album more than I thought I would. They experimented with a wide variety of music styles on this album, I can hear influences of Funk, Jazz, Psychedelic and Rock to name a few. It makes for a really pleasant listening experience. The lyrical content hits all the typical hip-hop themes, guns, drugs, sex and violence, but with a hyperbolic angle that sometimes veers into satire. Fav Tracks: Ms. Jackson, B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad), Humble Muble, Stankonia (Stanklove)
Knew the mainstream tunes (Ms. Jackson, So Fresh So Clean, B.O.B.), but never really listened to the rest of the album before. Having said that, was captured by the diversity of each song, and surprisingly enjoyed the skits between songs and the "BREAK" at the end of each song/skit. Well paced album. Would consider it Outkast's 'Magnum Opus'.

Good mixture of harder rapping and Prince-style sexy pop with a preoccupation with sex. Varied music. Fairly good. I already knew and enjoy two singles, Ms Jackson and So Fresh, So Clean.
This might be OutKast’s best album. These guys put southern rap on the map, or at least introduced it to millions on the coasts which have traditionally held a monopoly on hip hop. This album is dense with musical references spanning classic R&B and funk to modern electronic sounds. What I always love about OutKast is that they are absolutely unafraid of being unconventional. The result here is a sprawling album that confronts social issues and creates a new world based on black excellence. Truly visionary, and an absolute pleasure to listen to.

This album surprised me, after hearing the intro I didn't think I'd enjoy it but a lot of the songs were amazing. I didn't expect such a strong political music either. Incredibly influential hip-hop and a pleasure to listen to.
I really wish that Outkast made more music. I’ve yet to hear anything bad by them. Around the age of 16, I came across the Ms Jackson music video and loved it (shout out to the owl). After that I listened to this album a fair bit. Songs I already knew: all (to a degree) Favourites: Ms Jackson, So Fresh So Clean, Humble Mumble If anything, I think I enjoyed this album more today than I did when I was younger. André 3000 has such a unique inflection with his rapping that makes him instantly recognisable, and Big Boi’s deeper tones contrast perfectly. Perhaps nostalgia can be blamed, or otherwise it is a testimony to the lyrics, but I even enjoys the more sex-related songs that would otherwise make me cringe.

Finally! I've been waiting for Andre3000 since this list first had a rap album. I'm so glad they included the best of all time. Unfortunately I have to take a star off for the misogany.

This is Outkast's last real album, as it was more of a collaboration than Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which was basically two solo albums under the Outkast name. I wouldn't say this is their best album, but I find it to be my favorite album because of the diversity of sounds and even the skits were short and memorable. This was definitely not a lean album and you can see how both Big Boi and Andre 3000 had big ideas they wanted to explore outside of the Outkast name. Regardless, this album is a must-listen for those who want to hear what Southern rap was like in the late 90's/early 2000's.
Didn't need to be an hour long, but still a classic
maaaannnn some of the most iconic songs from the year 2000… but then there are the horrendous and misogynistic skits (why did 90s and 00s rappers think skits were cool?)… man, i love me some andre, but big boi is just a pigheaded idiot. oh well. production is pretty engaging and unique for the time period. behind the times on lyrics, however. oh, well.
I enjoyed the energy and vibe of this album and there are definitely some catchy bits that will linger even though I wouldn't come back to it for personal listening. It could have used some paring down though -- it is too long for me!
Only detracting thing was the interludes

It's alright
The singles from this album seem to stand out more than the rest of the tracks. Could've cut all the skits and trimmed out half of the features. Tightened down the album to like 12 of the best tracks, with Andre taking the majority of the verses. He has that wild flow, but most that wasn't him was iffy.
p870, 2000. 1.5 stars. Rap, so the wrong audience. The usual tedious rants about motherfuckers, banana niggas, gangsta shit, blowjobs, blunts, hoes, punk pussy ass bitches and pussy wreckers. Bonus half star for Ms.Jackson, but otherwise this got boring reallll soon.

A couple of good tracks but overall came across as badly produced and very poorly mastered. The album was not coherently put together either, it felt like it was made up of remnants of several projects with conflicting visions of what it should be or just made with no overall vision of what they wanted to achieve.
There's something for everyone here. Radio friendly poppy hooks interspersed with traditional hip hop bravado and social commentary. Great top to bottom.

Really cool album actually, quite trippy. The first quarter or so of the album was definitely 5 star terrority for me, but then it got a bit worse after that. Still some cool songs like 'Humble Mumble', 'We luv dez hoes' (though the latter is quite misogynist, like much else sadly). I think overall it just sounds a bit different with lot of acid-like elements and their rapping style works really well in my opinion.
I really wanted to give this album 4 stars. After the start with "Gasoline dreams", "So fresh, So clean" and "Ms. Jackson" but then there is so much stuff that i didn't enjoy as much. The amazing "B.O.B" comes saving some of the weaker tracks. I even liked the juvenile "I'll call B4 I Cum" But it has to be a 3 stars due to the long running length.
Really enjoyed this - great production, some interesting beats and considered and thoughtful lyrics: not the boastful brags of some of their contemporaries. I know Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, so this sounded familiar. I feel like you only need one OutKast album, whether it's this or that one. One star off for the fact it could have used some editing, but not bad at all.
Twenty four tracks – I made it all the way through to the end as well. It was decent, but I wouldn’t line up a second sitting. Albums should be forty minutes, max. There’s a light tough to the production. It didn’t feel like I was being lectured. Some pretty cool turntablist action as well.
I only knew OutKast from that mashup of Hey Ya and a Charlie Brown Christmas video, but I liked that song and had high hopes for this. Nope, just another n-word, m-f laden, moronic skit having, sexually explicit rap album. Giving this a 2/5 like most of the others because of the decent beats and music. And no, I don't want to know about some gangsta sh*t, so please stop asking.
Not my favorite OutKast album, but it is a decent listen. "So Fresh, So Clean" and "Ms. Jackson" are certified bangers though.

Album 115 of 1001 Outkast - Stankonia Rating : 3 / 5 The only Hip Hop I've ever purchased is Outkast's Speakerboxx/The Love Below, so I was good with checking this out. Not my preferred genre, but don't mind listening occasionally. Doesn't rank with the previously mentioned title but not altogether bad. Just not really my thing - nor did they intend it to be. I can recognize whether something is worth a crap or not (within its genre); this is, at least, that.
Not my cup of tea, although found the lyrics interesting. Ms Jackson remains a top banger
Just about as 5 as a 5 can get. Bursting with creativity. The ONLY record over an hour long so far in this project that earns its length and doesn't feel exhausting.
B.O.B. was fun but I don't think I really needed an hour plus of Outkast.

This was a surprise enjoy, and validates my motivation for continuing this project. It’s an album I knew just from “Fresh and so clean” and “sorry mrs Jackson” lyrics on FM radio when I was in college. Although it wasn’t all gold, it had great, relatively happy lyrics, repetitive melodies and well engineered beats. I’m not sure how many millions this sold but it earned them. 4/5
OutKast have been one of those duos that I've always said "I've liked," but I've never actually listened to one of their albums, so this is my first full experience, and this was good. I really enjoy the more regular song structured pieces, I assume courtesy of André 3000, but that doesn't stop the raps from being good too. I think if the album were just shorter (I don't know if I remember a single skit) and more tight in general, as some of the more jokey songs weren't what I would call good, then this could have made more of an impact towards me. All the big songs here, though, are great though, and even stuff like Toilet Tisha really caught me off guard with how good they were. I'm excited for The Love Below, and maybe Speakerboxxx will be good too, and that's what this album has basically made me think. Is that how people usually see OutKast? I've really got no clue. Still, solid album. Starts really strong then peppers good bits throughout.
I like this album a bit better than the one from yesterday, it’s got some catchy songs. I’ll definitely be revisiting this album. 5/5
It's banger after banger. Production, bars and flows so tight throughout. Feels big but intimate, full of charm, plenty of range and depth in the tracks to prevent the long runtime from dragging. Even today this still sound fresh and weird and experimental. Fav Track: Snappin and Trappin 4.5/5
A lot of really great tracks on this album, some incredible rhyme schemes and flows with inventive production. Some gross stuff and skits (boo), a little over-long for my taste, but overall it's deserving of its classic status. Fave track: B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)

I remember 12 year old me seeing the ms Jackson video on MTV and then going to Woolworths to buy this album. Re listening 20 years on this feels like a true hip hop masterpiece.
It seems like Outkast fans fall into two categories: those who think *Aquemini* is their magnum opus, and those who would rather vote for *Stankonia*. The first was surely the most groundbreaking one, but the famous hits are on the second. With stellar tracks such as "So Fresh, So Clean", " Ms.Jackson" and "Bombs Over Baghdad", the album is worth your time, aven with lengthier deep cuts and interludes (a flaw many rap albums--including masterpieces--shared at the time). And if "Hey Ya" had been on that record, instead of the weird double-solo album that saw the duet officially part ways later on, you can bet your boots that *Stankonia* would have been the magnum opus. Well, why choose? I think there's enough room in my own list for *both* LPs... I do enjoy Outkast but mostly the most famous hits - So fresh, So clean, Mrs Jackson, B.O.B. After a few hip hop and rap albums, I really don't enjoy talking interludes or random noise interludes. Always takes me out.
I think I might have listened to Bombs Over Baghdad 10,000 times in my life. An all time classic album.

I love outkast and ive only heard some songs never a whole album and i was soooo happy when i got this and it lived up and exceeded what i thought it would be every song is different, unique and feels like im a frog at a nightclub in the sky shilling out on clouds. So many classics and underappreciated songs on this album

The fact that this came out in 2000, which is where so much music went to die, is incredible to me. This album so close to great. "Don't everybody like the smell of gasoline? Well, burn, motherfucker, burn, American dreams Don't everybody like the taste of apple pie? We'll snap for your slice of life, I'm tellin' ya why I hear that mother nature now on birth control The coldest pimp be looking for somebody to hold The highway up to Heaven got a crook on the toll Youth full of fire, ain't got nowhere to go, nowhere to go (woo)" That happens in the first five minutes! Then So Fresh, So Clean? Ms. Jackson? Toilet Tisha??? Whereas most hip hop at the time was just albums full of pose, this one went in such a different, great drection. Is it the tension between Big Boi's fundamental rap style and Andre's grand, emotionally dynamic style? Sure. I don't know. But it's pretty fuckin' great. Where it falls short - it coulda used a little restraint. By the time Xplosion comes around - and I like that one, too - it starts to feel long. I like long albums, too. But 24 tracks? All of these tracks break through for me, but I do think to myself "Is this still going?" and that ain't great. Like, I don't know that I need 'Slum Beautiful' at the end here. Like, if this stopped after Red Velvet - that would still be pretty long, but better.
You're never gonna guess what I'm gonna say about this album... It doesn't need to be over an hour long. That's it. All I got.
The first true good hiphop.
I think this was really great, though I'm not sure I'm crazy about how long it was nor a bunch of the songs on it. Outside of that, killer classics in "B.O.B.", "Ms. Jackson", and "So Fresh, So Clean". I like it alot overall. 8/10.

Not clicking for me – the bars and overall lyricism feels too lackadaisical and repetitive to warrant attention, and the beats feel uninspired and generic. Some fun moments of wordplay or comedy here or there, but most of the LP feels like it's trying too hard to ape the 90s' hip-hop greats without adding any noticeable identity on top.

I love listening to OutKast and randomly hearing songs that I heard in the early 2000s! This album is good, it doesn't quite do what Speakerboxx does for me but it's still fun. I think this is one of the 1st albums where my indifference to the genre is getting in the way from me feeling that this is something truly great - that or it is indeed just good, that being said there are definitely a few tracks that swing very hard

This album still feels fresh more than 20 years later. It leverages the sonic palette of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, while setting the tone for the rest of the 00s. Some problematic lyrics (looking at you “So Fresh and So Clean”). But no album I’ve heard so seamlessly blends earnest philosophical musings (“Humble Mumble”) with an epicurean embrace of sexuality (“Stankonia”).
one of the best rap albums of all time, and the reason rappers cite andre as the best to ever do it. always technically perfect, really thought-provoking lyrics (and some hits), but the real standout here is the melodies — nobody had done it before, and it took until kid cudi before anyone would do it again. any album that predicts music a decade in the future while also staying listenable deserves a 5.

HL: "B.O.B.", "Ms. Jackson", "Gangsta Sh*t", "So Fresh, So Clean", "Toilet Tisha" I'm not here to argue that S/TLB is a better album (I gave that 5 stars). Maybe the biggest drawback to the album-a-day thing is that some albums deserve time to digest, and my opinions on several tracks/interludes on Stankonia aren't fully formed because I was still reeling from the song before it. Probably was the most tuned in during the first 5 songs & the last 5 songs. Definitely worth a relisten in the near future. "B.O.B." continues to be my favourite Outkast song, bar none (not that I've listened to the other four albums yet) June 11, 2023

If I gave Speakerboxxx/The Love Below a 5/5 this is a 6/5. It's off the charts how good the album is. The singles "B.O.B." and "Ms. Jackson" is still played frequently in my house.
It was alright. A lot of the songs didn't truly hit for me, but there were a few good ones, and I liked the interludes. The songs I didn't like weren't bad songs, they just didn't grab me and they got a bit repetitive. It's a bit long too. My favourite songs were Ms. Jackson, B.O.B., and Toilet Tisha.
Weird album, see how it was ahead of its time, production super unique yet still very 2000 sounding, singles definitely the standouts, ? is one of the craziest tracks ive ever heard

A classic for sure, I grew up with outkast and stankonia is not the most consistent but has many of their best songs, obviously Ms Jackson, So Fresh So Clean and BOB. Still there’s plenty more great songs and immaculate vibes, plus Andre 3000 is easily one of the greatest rappers in the world.
Long and, though not dull, never hits any giddy heights. The rap ryhthm never quite sits comofrtably with me, the words never quite hit right or say enough, the beats are never quite as gutsy or powerful as I'd like and the hooks are tame. All in all a perfectly fine album but I wanted a little more

Massive fan of the radio hits "So Fresh and so Clean," "Ms. Jackson," and "B.O.B." The rest of the album, especially the skits - not so much.
This album marked the most mainstream Outkast effort up to this point, by building off the underground success of ATLiens. Boasting some of their biggest commercial hits at time of release, this album also hosted notable B-sides and lyrically heavy tracks. Stankonia not only exemplifies the ATL rap movement at the time, but also highlights the heights it could achieve.

It was initially daunting seeing the track list of this album and the length. I prefer albums in that sweet spot of 40-60 minutes. But the initial worry soon disappeared once I got into this album, the slick flows and amazing production hooked me and there was enough variation to keep me intrigued for the 75 minute run time

3. While I'm not into hiphop, I do actually like Outkast. This album was too long for me though and I'm not a fan of the skits.
There were a few songs on this album that were absolutely blowing my socks off, with Xplosion as the number 1. Also songs like Gasoline Dreams, B.O.B. and Ms Jackson will be in personal playlists going forward. But a few really outstanding songs don't make a good album I'm afraid. I know the skits are part of the whole hiphop thing, but my god, they're annoying and not funny. They add nothing to the album. And some songs just don't reach even half the heights that the top songs do. I enjoyed listening to it though, and this has certainly peaked my interest to listen to more of their work. I'll start at the start of their discography tomorrow.

I enjoyed this album more than the last one. The singles are the best. I forgot about BOB. There are a lot of cool moments on this record but they don't last long. Ms. Jackson is a bop.

I really only knew about Ms. Jackson and Roses, but I liked this album and I’m happy that I listened to it.
This album is just nonstop grooves, which can make it surprising when you dive into the serious lyrical content on some of the tracks. There’s a lot in here. Ms. Jackson might be one of the stickiest, catchiest choruses ever. Looking back, Ms. Jackson was just a sign of the massive hits to come on OutKast’s next album. Favorite tracks: B.OB.; Ms, Jackson; Red Velvet; So Fresh So Clean; Stankonia; Toilet Tisha. 5/5.
Never a fan of skits in albums I will take an entire star for the mar they make on what is otherwise a superlative record from Outkast. These interludes in particular aren't palette cleansers, they're straight up stupid. It's a shame because otherwise this is a five star record. Gasoline Dreams indeed.

Er staan zeker goede nummers op dit album, maar de nummers die voor mij niet werken zijn actief vervelend. Deze mannen kunnen niet doseren. 2e OutKast album dat ik luister voor deze lijst, 2e keer een 2. Ik heb wel iets liever dit album dan Speakerboxxx/The Love below.

This album is much longer than it should have been. A couple of the funky songs are good. The more hardcore songs are not very good and sound outdated. Too much filler in between. Favorite song: Bombs Over Baghdad.
I'm not usually the biggest fan of hip hop, but I enjoyed the more melodic nature of this. Obviously Miss Jackson is a huge song from this one, which I really like. Had not heard B.O.B before. Enjoyed that song. Thought this album was a bit longer than it needed to be
A lot of songs are very good on this album, they have great rhythm, they are written so well and they blend together easily. My main issue with this album is that the lyrics are often so much and they sing so fast that it is difficult to understand what they sing about, and as someone from Europe, as a non native speaker it's a lot more difficult to get into it. The other thing is that because of the amount of lyrics, and packed songs the album feels really long with the 73 minutes. I had to pause it and take a little break while I was listening to it because otherwise I couldn't have processed everything. Anyway, it's a good record but I am sure I would need more listens to like it more.

This is a fantastic album that absolutely deserves its place on this list. Rich, dynamic, and just seriously fun! I would put it below Miseducation of Lauryn Hill on my favorite hip hop albums of all time list, but just below. This was so innovative and the singles haven't gotten tired! Just good stuff.
Stankonia is, without question, Outkast at the absolute peak of their powers. Rather than come down from the mountainous high of the stupendously spectacular and envelope pushing Aquemini, Daddy Fat Sacks and 3 Stacks decided that it was for the best if they reached the Moon, Saturn, Mars, Venus and everywhere in between. Draping the black and white flag that was raised and fluttered in every corner that they approached, Outkast not only dismantled the boundaries that constricted hip-hop (if they hadn't already) but extended their outreach ever farther in unexplored and tantalizing areas (if that hadn't happened already). As a result, we were treated to one of the greatest albums in hip-hop, one of the greatest albums of the 21st Century and one of the greatest albums period. Some may wince at its bloated appearance and its breakneck pace and they may do without two or three songs and skits but that's just part of the charm. Gotta take it as it comes. I was happy when I did. Stank you, Outkast, stank you smelly much.
Forever? For ever ever? For ever ever? Andre 3000 sometimes seems like his lyrics are trying to catch up the beat, like he's putting too many words in. It's more apparent in Ms. Jackson than some of the other songs, though. Even though I am not a fan of interludes in albums, I thought it was funny that they yelled "BREAK!" at the end of each one. Still, I liked the flow of some of the other songs more, even "?" which was short but to the point. "Humble Mumble" was also good (didn't know Andre 3000 & Badu were a couple). I can see why this made it in, the rhymes were really good, but Andre has to not try to fit so many words in, like fitting your size 10 foot into a 9 1/2 shoe. The slowing down of "Stankonia" at the end, ha sooooo funneeeeee. <sarcasm> So probably a 3.5 rounding up to a 4 for me. I enjoyed it a lot. I remember listening to Idlewild and enjoying that when it came out. So yeah, I was probably going to enjoy this going in.
I remember when this album came out; it was big. Ms. Jackson got overplayed and over-impersonated but So Fresh, So Clean and BOB couldn't get played enough in my opinion. They were/are awesome; BOB is still one of my favorites from that era. The first 15 minutes or so of the album really rocks. I don't think it keeps that level and pace throughout - probably a bit over-ambitious with all the tracks and almost 75 minutes of album. It's still real solid, with some wicked tempos and beats, but I might rate it even higher if it was tighter.

I'm still undecided about this album. Whilst some tracks I found groovy and catchy, others were so repetitive and dull. I get what they were trying to do with interludes and breaks, tying the album up into a free flowing show. But for me, there were too many dud tracks to rate it any higher than a 3.
