Knew more than I thought. Dis track against McCartney had George on slide guitar! Bluesy-er than the Beatles. Enjoyed the whole album. I’ve never heard “How?” before, and what a time in my life to hear that song. Just as good as the title track
Jazzy sound, heavy bass and cool horns through the album. Old school sound with modern lyrics. Got repetitive to me by the end, could have cut a couple songs
Prophets song a-cappella part reminds me of YEM vocal jam and bouncing. And all delayed echoes in phish like ghost and others I can’t think of. Sick song. Whole album is great, feels like a play or a night at the opera
One of my favorite albums already. Love the instrumentation on the album, feels like a jazz club with 2 great emcees crushing it.
Really enjoyed the first two tracks. After that it felt very repetitive and had the “typical” country sound. Not sure what it is about that sound that I get tired of so quickly.
Did not enjoy at all. Moments where I thought it could have a cool section but changed or got worse immediately
Did not enjoy, another British electronica album
Much better than other electronica I’ve listened to. Love her voice and melodies
Fun album, I would have loved this 10-15 years ago.
Fantastic blend of post-punk/alt rock/new wave. More 'punk' than Talking Heads. Dumb Waiters is such a fun song
So Fresh, So Clean, Ms. Jackson, and B.O.B are great. Not a fan of most of the rest
Not a huge fan of the big band sound. I much more enjoyed the tracks where the piano shined. Love his simple, real lyrics that focus on love and relationships.
Masterpiece front to back
Really cool effects in both music and vocals. Slower beats and rhythms that are great for night time listening
Really enjoyed this album. Not what I would normally listen to, but I love her lyrics and emotions the album goes through. Standouts for me are the title track and Precious Things.
Love this album. The amount of ideas presented in the music is astonishing. It seems like the noise may never resolve at times, in the best way possible. Makes me have more appreciation for the slower, more confusing parts of jam music where they are trying to find a way forward and bringing ideas to the jam. Jazz is the king of improv
Very real album hitting on depression and the darkness in our lives and how we must proceed ahead while facing these difficulties. Love the stripped back instruments
Fantastic playing by all three members of the trio. Very different style than Myles Davis, even though it is improv it is much catchier and more focused. Listened through this album 5-6 times in one day
Fun catchy album. A lot of little riffs and melodies that got stuck in my head
Great variety on this album, can hear a ton of influences. Beatles, temptations, spaghetti western, ska, country, folk, really really good.
Blues-punk? Really interesting sound from these guys. Singer reminds me of Mick Jagger in some songs.
Classic 80s dad rock
Beautiful voice, music is not my cup of tea. Smackwater Jack is a fun song
How have I slept on Neil Young for so long?? Fantastic album
