Reviews (page 8 of 8)

couldn't listen to that all the way to the end... What a boring crap. Why is that a top 1000 Album?

Unlistenable

Only made it a few songs into the album and decided to stop - It's a very grungy kind of rock album with a great feeling of moodiness but just a bit too depressing and monotonous for my taste. Not too fond of the vocal style in the songs either but that's just my taste.

mumbleing nonsense.

Some of the instrumentals were pretty cool, but this album was not for me.

Edgy spoken word and whispering over droning, monotonous, and lazy riffs. Tracks are six to eight minutes long. Way too long. Garbage.

October 13, 2021 Just a lot of grungy background noise. The vocals are too quiet. I get this would be influential but I just think what came after is less fucking boring.

Spiderland is the second and final studio album by the American rock band Slint. Formed in 1986 in Louisville, Kentucky, having met as teenagers playing in the Midwestern punk scene, they soon diverged from their hardcore roots. By the time they recorded Spiderland in late 1990, the band had developed a complex, idiosyncratic sound characterized by atypical rhythmic meters, harmonic dissonance and irregular song structures. McMahan's vocal delivery alternates between spoken word, singing and shouting. The lyrics are presented in a narrative style, covering themes and feelings of unease, social anxiety, loneliness, and despair.

Weird. This album is weird. And it's also weird how a weird album is categorically considered great. Lots of spoken lyrics, mostly mumbled, alternating with screechy screaming. Mixed rhythms, dissonant chord structures... Sorry, this gets a solid 1 star from me.

Not a good album. Sounds like they’re drunk and sloppy when playing. No songwriting present, and the spoken word vocals are terrible. Not for me.

Spiderland is zoals een combo proberen tussen disneyland en spiderman gebouwd Het resultaat is echter plopsaland met mega Toby. It's a no for me

Boring. Not my style of music at all.

Only liked the song Washer. This style had no appeal to me whatsoever. Maybe if I was 40 years younger. Could barely hear the lyrics.

Nah bro.

I think they're trying to torture us now

I hate it. Makes me feel sick and sad inside.

Torture

Not a huge fan. I get it and I understand why it was influential to some genres that followed but overall I couldn’t get through the entire album.

Nej, lyssnar hellre på creepypodden än så här skum musik.

Not my thing

Garbage. Almost no vocals, just grunge strumming a guitar. Waste of time listening.

Shocker. The talking bits were very cringe

guitar #2 sucks.

Every last human is dead

For something experimental it is quite monotone. Like all the six songs resemble each other. And the music in general is not to my taste. I like rock, this is just garbage
