My favourite Beatles album
Truly a mix of good and bad for me. The Rip was excellent so that slightly redeemed it.
This was not my cup of tea at all. The songs were so unnecessarily long and felt like the song form of a man rambling on and on. The only song I remotely liked was the rose one with Kylie Minogue. I couldn’t wait for the album to be over.
The start of the album was jarring. I immediately disliked it and wasn’t looking forward to the rest. The rest except the ending was okay however. It was tolerable but sounded a little repetitive among some songs. I don’t think I would listen again but I’m glad I listened this one time.
Adele’s vocal ability and talent is extraordinary. For the most part, I enjoy this album. I remember the appraise and critical acclaim when it came out. Rolling in the Deep is an amazing album opener. I really love Rumour Has It and Set Fire to the Rain. They’re upbeat and fun despite being about a relationship breaking down. Someone Like You is iconic in British pop culture. I’ll Be Waiting was good track. I enjoyed Adele’s different approach to Lovesong, a classic from The Cure. However, I didn’t care for the other songs on the album. They felt desperately sad and seemingly endless and slightly repetitive. My personal preference is much more towards songs that are upbeat. I don’t mind a few love songs in one go but this album had too many for my liking. All in all, I can see why this album is here. It’s a classic.
RIP Brian Wilson
I now understand why I’d never heard any of their music except Tainted Love.
This really sucked. I had 1 minute left on Religion II and skipped onto the next song because at that point I thought the point had been truly hammered home. I can normally tolerate albums I don’t like but for the first time on this project I had to fast forward on some tracks after a couple minutes of listening to them.
Delighted I finally got a Nirvana album. I assumed at least Nevermind would appear on here at some point so it was a joy to see In Utero was on here. I’ve loved their music for years but it’s been a little while since I’ve listened to In Utero fully and in the album order. It took me straight back to the first time I listened and the range of emotions it gave me. I feel so energised and vibrant when I listen.
I found it quite nice, easy listening. I liked the concept. Felt that it fell a little bit flat and got a bit boring/didn’t have my attention the whole time listening.
My depressed teenage self would’ve loved this album

Really loved this! Felt like classic 90s rock. 4* because the last few tracks didn’t match up to the rest of the album.
Banger album. Glad it was on this list.
Beautiful voice and album. Not the kind of music I particularly enjoy though. It felt a bit repetitive in lyrical themes.
I will never tire of hearing The One I Love. Top-tier song for me forever.
At least this was only 30 minutes of noise.

This was the perfect album to listen to on a walk in a cold January afternoon in England, after a night of snowfall.
This was a surprisingly pleasant album especially considering some of the other 80s new wave albums on this list. The first few tracks were fun and upbeat.
When I saw that this compilation was over 3 hours long, I was dubious that I was going to listen to the entire thing. I started it with the expectation that I’d maybe listen to 2 to 3 discs and get a feel for the rest. Well, I listened to it all over a couple of days. The music is beautiful, Ella’s voice is wonderful, and I was enraptured. I’m taking one star off the rating because despite how glorious the music is, the length of the compilation could be trimmed.
I like the idea of space rock in theory but I did not like how it was executed in this album. And of course it had to be a 2 hour long live double album. I can happily say I won’t be listening to this album again.
