Album recorded for the single. One good song, the rest, meh.

Enjoyed but clearly an early work.

A classic and deservedly so.

I know that some consider this a classic already. And that it revived Ellington's career going into his death in the 70's. And that he is among the 20th century best composers. But what I cant get past is the way he went back to the studio and redid the parts that the audience did not react to the way he thought. For me, that will always put an asterisk next to the name of this album. Thus, 4 stars.

Not a country music fan, but enjoyed this album more than I thought I would.

Not my genre, and did not surprise me as others in this book have. Two stars.

Unlistenable noise.

If you are going to own one Jazz album, this is the one.

I've always felt that Fairport Convention never got the attention in the states that they deserved. Album is worth a listen. 4/5
