Superb! A classic album!
Absolute banger.
Stone cold classic
Perfect album. No notes! Takes me back to first hearing this when it was released and I was 15 years old. Still remember every word start to finish.
What do you mean "Oasis is good"? I thought it was a meme?! This took me by surprise. I really enjoyed this one. Good job Oasis!
영국의 국가
Impressive, layered and loud sound. The perfect example of 90s Brit-Pop at its finest.
One of my favorite albums! It's an icon!
Today is gonna be the day they’re remembered as arrogant pricks who gave us Britpop’s high point and the anthem English fans belt out right before losing on penalties. Champagne Supernovas, lager super-egos.
Mad fer it!
Dam great album
Almost every song is a classic.
I have heard this album before and it honestly slaps
Instant 5/5. Banger album.
They really have so many great songs wow!! I wish I had listened to this album earlier, but worth the wait.
Alright, so Oasis's (What's The Story) Morning Glory... Man, what was I thinking when this stuff first hit? I know, I somehow jumped on the country bandwagon for a good ten years – a decade I'll never get back, let me tell you. But revisiting this album now? Brilliant. I just said it, didn't I? I couldn't fully appreciate it back then, but now I can hear it. It's loud, it's anthemic, and it's got those tunes that just stick. I'm definitely going back for more listens. This one's a solid hit that I missed the first time around.
Straight banger of album. Masterpiece start to finish And Champagne Supernova to finish it off, chefs kiss.
It's like a greatest hits album. Along with Definitely Maybe it's their peak.
This opens strong. Damn I think it’s a 5? Swamp song is a throw away. The rest hits. Beatles nostalgia sounds very quaint in 2025.
Oasis really put all of their best songs on one album… maybe it’s boring to give this a 5/5 but honestly I had a lot of fun listening to this in the car. And I do believe that “Don’t Look Back in Anger” is one of the best songs ever :D
Phenomenal album
maybeeeeeeeeeee you're gonna be the one that saves meeeeeeeeeee and after aaaaaaaallllll you're my wonderwallllllllllll... now that i got your attention, we've got some sleazy british rock pop that definitely feels like the next successor when it comes to classic british rock bands. besides the smash hit "wonderwall", the entire soundtrack is just full of juicy and british swagger. overplayed songs be damned, this record is fantastic. these guys pour their hearts out with their music and i think many indie rock musicians could learn a thing or two from these guys.
Definitely the most famous Britpop album, and maybe the best. I've rated every other Britpop album pretty highly, and well, this is no exception. "Wonderwall" is the most famous song from the album, but it's easily one of the worst on it despite being a great song. "She's Electric" is a great rocker along with "Don't Look Back in Anger." "Champagne Supernova" is the best song, and is easily a top tier Britpop song, only behind the likes of The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" and Pulp's "Common People. This is a must listen, and is up there with the best of Britain with OK Computer, Abbey Road, Dark Side of The Moon, and Led Zeppelin 4.
Oasis is generally overrated, but my god this album is a masterpiece. Top to bottom one of the best albums I've ever listened to. I remember really liking it when it first came out, but really listening to this as an adult, it blew my mind. This is the kind of music the Beatles would have made in the 90s. The record is stacked and groundbreaking. Not one weak track, and each track builds on the next for a satisfying listening experience. And ending with "Champagne Supernova," which is a modern day "A Day In The Life," is the cherry on top of a practically perfect album. This album is freaking brilliant and deserves to be considered one of the best all time. The Gallagher brothers are annoying, but my god they made magic together on this album. This is now a contender for one of my favorite albums of all time.
Don't look back in anger
Back in the ’90s, when I was a teenager, I casually bought into the whole Blur vs. Oasis rivalry and firmly planted myself in the Blur camp. That said, I still have vivid memories of listening to Don't Look Back in Anger during a Year 6 residential trip to the Isle of Wight - it’s a song that’s steeped in nostalgia for me even now. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate Oasis much more, and this record is a perfect example of why. It captures a band at the peak of their powers - brimming with creativity, stepping into the studio with clear intent, and pouring everything they had into it. The result is a collection of unforgettable tracks, elevated by outstanding production. It absolutely delivers. Favourite tracks: there's not a duff track on here, but Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Some Might Say stand out the most for me.
Perfect Album from start to finish, not a second of wasted space.
Soundtrack of my college years together with other albums like OK computer. A truly immersive album from a band that is great despite being a bit arrogant.
Loved this album. Catchy hooks, a little repetitive in sound from song to song but still enjoyable.
Banger irgendwie
After three Blur albums, it was about time to have to listen to this one
Biblical!
Sadly I am an Oasis apologist, Liam Gallagher they could never make me hate you
Never liked Champagne Supernova or Wonderwall back when this came out and I didn’t know about anything else they did so I wrote them off. A few years later I listened to this album and was pretty much blown away. Still listen to it and it still blows me away.
It's Morning Glory, what else is left to say? It would basically be an incredibly strong greatest hits compilation for most other bands, plus two interludes.
Basically a greatest hits record. Beyond insane that this is Oasis’ second album. I don’t think I will ever grow tired of listening to this. I might just put in on again right now in fact.
First CD I ever bought (used for $10 from a kid on the bus on a field trip). Don't Look Back in Anger probably the song I've listened to the most in my life and I've barely listened to it in 25 years. The singles are great but the deep cuts are great too. There's not a skippable song here for me.
Great!
The El Classico, before they got too big for their boots 💪👌
Find myself liking the things I hadn’t heard before over the overplayed classics. But still, an album full of hits. FS: Hello
From the kid shouting "don't look back at Angus" from the back of the car on family holidays, to the teenage boy with a guitar taking it upon himself to treat everyone to unsolicited Wonderwall at a party, to the britpop dad spending £200 on a ticket for the mythical reunion no one believed would come 30 years later... this album exists everywhere you turn. A staple to every brit and an all time classic of course.
Sheeeeeyiiiiinnneeee
Even if I prefer Blur, this is a damn good album!
Amazing album. I remember listening to it growing up, and the album still holds up. Champagne Supernova will remain the best, but nearly every song is fantastic. Oasis is the best British band since the Beetles.
This sounds like a greatest hits album. I didn’t realize just how many oasis songs I knew and loved. The run of roll with it, to wonderwall to Don’t look back in anger is about as good of a stretch as you’re gonna get in modern rock. Wonderwall annoys people because it’s so ubiquitous, but the truth is huge bands don’t have one song as good as that, and it’s like the 5th best song on this album. Nobody writes a big chorus like Noel Gallagher. I fucking love Don’t look back in anger.
I am aware that this album was written at the same time Definitely Maybe was, but it doesnt come off that way. The recordings feel more polished and complex without losing that punky brit spirit. Maybe 1 skip on the entire album This is Oasis’ best work and it satisfies every damn time. I unapologetically love some of these songs. Champagne Supernova could come out today and be a massive hit, Shes electric sounds like something from the early 2000s - such a rocker. Id say the same thing about Dont Look Back In Anger. Roll With It is a new addition to my 90s jams Despite the Beatles references all over the place on yet ANOTHER album (yeah, its excessive ), this feels like Oasis doing a lot more of themselves. It is so much more of an album than DM And yeah, wonderwall sucks. Its a song that shouldnt belong to this band or album. Oasis shouldve created a separate project to release this as a single and their legacy wouldve been untainted. Instead, the world rips their entire discography for this and they collected some inauthentic fans 5/5
1. Hello - 7.5/10 2. Roll With It - 10/10 3. Wonderwall - 10/10 4. Don't Look Back In Anger - 10/10 5. Hey Now! - 9.6/10 6. 7. Some Might Say - 10/10 8. Cast No Shadow - 10/10 9. She's Electric - 10/10 10. Morning Glory - 9/10 11. 12. Champagne Supernova - 10/10 10/10
A classic Britpop album: Manchester in the 90’s
A classic. Loved it since I was 11.
Whatever you think of Liam & Noel today, the Oasis story is undeniably cool. Emerging from working class obscurity to become a global rock phenomenon propelled by this specific album. The audacity of it is magical, to say ‘fuck it let’s go for the absolute pinnacle of the mountain’, because really these tracks only really work as epic singalongs in packed arenas. Some seem to knock them as pretty basic lyrics & tunes, but the genius of Wonderwall, DLBIA and Supernova is their transcendent quality is entirely dependent on the communal energy they create. There is an elegance and power to their raw youthful simplicity that taps into something deeply human. It pulls you into the choir, compels you to throw your arm around the person next to you and belt out the lyrics with joyous, melancholic gusto. Seeing them at their stadium shows later this year, with a good chunk of the crowd made up of drunk Brits steaming in from the Melbourne Cup, is going to be incredible.
Cant lie im a sucker for some cringe singalong classics Also Dont look back in anger is a Banger
Very fun listen
Top!
When I rate an album, a five-star one must check some boxes. One of them is having no truly bad song. Another is an overall harmony between the tracks that creates a sense of cohesion that feels like a unified whole. No, I'm no expert, don't judge my humble criteria! All that was said above can be affirmed about this masterpiece. It's almost impossible not to feel teleported to the late 90's, charged with a youthful energy and frustration, mixed with passion and melancholy. All the tracks here fit one another - no exception. I'm not a big fan of those "Untitled" interludes, but I can live with them. Well, there's not much more to say, incredibly! What we have here is a gem of its time that has aged like fine wine. It's a classic, after all. 10/10
Unfortunately a banger of an album. I dislike the Gallaghers as people but I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t hit after hit. I understand why they are so arrogant now. Specific rating - 4.7 Fav song- hey now! Least fav- some might say
One of my favorite albums of all time. Every song is incredible, I am so glad they’re touring this year
Amazing. It’s like a (relatively) new Beatles album. Wish they’d get along too.
Ik ben misschien een beetje een fanboy, maar dit is toch heerlijk!!
a flawless album
Just classic
The sound of the 90s. All bangers.
A tale as old as time: some drunk Irish assholes get together to make incredible music
banger after banger after banger
One of the top 50 albums all time. Obviously 5/5.
Tycka vad man vill om bröderna Gallagher men det här är en löjligt bra platta.
A classic, very upbeat. I downloaded it.
Great album. Worthy of a top 100 or 150 all time. The album gives off Beatle-esque , British Pop vibes. Every song is killer. 5⭐️
Great album
Always loved this record
Roll with It Wonderwall Don't Look Back in Anger Some Might Say She's Electric Morning Glory Champagne Supernova
It’s time for me to admit that I’ve never listened to this album. Here we go. Not a bad track on here, but not all of them held my attention all the way through. Hard to rate this anything less than a 5 when three of the best songs ever written are on here. Meme as it is, Wonderwall rules, Champagne Supernova is a masterclass, and Don't Look Back in Anger has to be one of the best choruses of all time. I did not delve into the extra two hours of the deluxe edition but maybe I will as the day progresses. Good job, Oasis brothers. Hope the reunion tour doesn't blow up.
ah Oasis. The two biggest wankers of all time somehow made great music. This album in particular has some of the most recognizable songs in the history of music. Wonderwall is the first song that almost every guitar player learns. Don't Look Back in Anger has a perfect chorus. The worst 6 songs on the album are still very strong, but it's essentially 4 or 5 songs that make this album a 5. I have full confidence that the Gallaghers will end their 30 year bickering match
I love this record and how much it steals from every rock band before them. 2/3s of the songs on here could be singles and the swamp songs are good breaks. It’s loud guitar music with nasally simple vocals meant to be sung along to, it’s great. 5/5 no complaints
I am apocalyptically behind in these reviews, which makes the fact that I've heard this album before super helpful. Incredible album, one of the heights of Britpop, the Gallaghers are annoying as hell and I love that. Every day at midnight I get on here and check the next album in hopes its Justice of the Avalanches. I'll catch up on the other albums soon.
I LOVE oasis
Listened before?: Yes, incessantly from 2002 - 2004 A middle school and early high school staple for me. It's been a while since I've given the whole thing a listen-through though, curious to see if I'll have any new experiences with it! Still an immaculate album. Don't Look Back in Anger is probably still my favorite song off it, but really they're all 90s alt-rock gems.
Britpop bangers
Extremely good! Back in the day, this seemed poppy and bland, but I was just a stupid child. This is killer, filled with great songs, and with an incredible production. It's like a revamped version of the Beatles or whatever. Funny how we looked this band as pop back in the day but in the shitty and fake 2025 music scene they would be tagged as rock for sure. Also, way better than Blur.
This album contains my favorite song (Champagne Supernova) plus a bunch of others that I love. Easy 5!
When I think back to the mid 90s, I have such a fondness for albums like Dookie, Blue Album, and Mellon Collie…, but in truth I think it took a while to warm up to them. This one, though, I loved immediately. Except for “she’s electric,” I love every single song. And I learned we are a house divided: I think “cast no shadow” might be the best song here, and I think “morning glory” might be the most fun song here; Maggie thinks those are the two weakest. Like the Gallagher brothers, we too are at odds. Will we go our separate ways for 20 years only to reunite for that sweet, sweet reunion-tour cash? Time will tell!
Easily one of the greatest albums of all time, from front to back it provides nothing but absolute brit-pop bangers, the incredibly iconic vocals from Liam, combined with the amazing guitar work & the abrasive production, mixed in with some of the catchiest choruses of the decade makes for an absolute slapper of an album, genuine perfection.
Whereas 'Definitely Maybe' was a crackling debut of guitar rock energy, this is surely their more refined crowning achievement. Sticking with the wall of sound, Noel is leaning away from indie rock and into the anthemic. Songs generally sit around the bloated five minute market; Noel's guitar is a lesson in steadfast tempo and repeating hooks around the pentatonic scale. A recipe for self-indulgence - with an overblown charm. Ending in apt fashion on the overblown 'Champagne Supernova'. Utterly meaningless lyrics in the verse, building to symbolic imagery of rock decadence in the chorus. Nostalgia surely plays a part. I remember getting The Great Escape, The Bends and What's the Story for Christmas 1995. More bangers than the Wall's factory. What a time to be alive.
Amazing sounds that brought Oasus to a wider audience. Whatever you think of the Gallagher brothers, this album is a powerhouse of top tunes
Oasis were never the most creative but I do think Noel is a hit making machine which is what this album is, no filler, all hits nearly.
Creo que es el mejor disco de OASIS, puede que tengan mejores canciones en otros, pero este es el más completo. Tenía guardadas: "Roll with It","Wonderwall","Don't Look Back in Anger","Some Might Say","Cast No Shadow","She's Electric" y "Champagne Supernova" que me parece un cierre perfecto. He añadido "Morning glory".
Excellent songwriting by the Gallaghers. Simple yet complex melodies and guitar arrangements. Feels inspired by classic Beatles and Rolling Stones music but very modern sounding for its time, and still sounding pretty modern today.
10/10. Love. Best there is. Best there was. Best there’ll ever be x
I’ve never really given them the respect they deserve, even having seen them live. All these classics came from a single album?! Geniuses really do steal.
Gosto de 10 das 12 músicas, aí não tem como. 22 de novembro de 2025 está logo ali
I love this album and drinking beer in the summer
A classic. This album was being played by everyone, everywhere for most of mid to late 90's. Every track is a banger. One of the best albums of the 90's in my opinion.
A fantastic album filled with fresh music, arrangements and vocals, and featuring some of the most iconic and period defining songs, especially Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova!
Top One.
*on my fortieth listen of the day* you guys are so fucked up for making me listen to (What’s The Story) Morning Glory I love this album and I love Oasis. I don’t think this is their best work, I *do* think “Wonderwall” is a beautiful track, and when I met Noel and got this vinyl sloppily signed by him, I accepted that this band would forever be a part of me. Anyone who hasn’t, check out “Bonehead’s Bank Holiday” to hear what might be the best Oasis song ever. That’s all!
Amazing. Teenage me loved it and 45 year old me still loves it
Shout out the blokes and the lads.
Worst fans ever. But the songs are great
<3
An all-time favorite. Lower heights than their debut but overall I prefer this.
This is the best record of the 1990s. The self-important dorks scoff at it, because it doesn’t permit them to feel superior and smart, but we don’t worry about them unless they mess up our coffee. This is a masterpiece.
I did not think I was going to give this a five. But it's strong throughout.
I loved it. I really loved it. I had of course heard the hits before but never the whole thing for some reason. It’s truly like if someone put the poppier Beatles stuff into a 90s-ifying machine and I wish I was kidding about that but I’m not. It’s like a time-traveler showed them Sugar and The Bends and dipped. The influences are on full display on this album but this is a case in which the album is enhanced because of that. Topster time
I feel conflicted on this one. On one hand, it seems like Liam Gallagher is a massive prick and, had I been alive and in Britain for the late 90s, I would probably be so burned out of Oasis. On the other hand, there are so many good songs on this (ignoring Wonderwall). Some might say? Banger. Champagne supernova? Banger. Don’t look back in anger? Iconic. If you add in the songs from the deluxe edition, it gets even deeper (shout out to the Masterplan live at Knebworth park). I don’t feel great about it but I have to give this a 5
so many incredible bangers on this album
I had this when it was new. Still love it.
I don't listen to it often, as I've heard it so many times, but revisiting it now it's still impressive.
Iconic album but Liam’s an ass
"RAIN" AND "AGAIN" DONT RHYME NOEL
In her song ‘love like laughter’ Beth Orton sings ‘some of the worst wrongs get righted on three chords’ and this is where Oasis’ sophomore album excels and rightly takes its place amongst the cultural canon. Noel Gallagher righting the wrongs delivered as a result of cheesy euro trance dominating the charts for the majority of the early 90’s. 1995 was arguably the high water mark for britpop and (what’s the story) morning glory swept everything away in one mighty stroke. I can remember listening to the charts and being overjoyed that ‘some might say’ made number one. It marked a turning of the tide… ‘Where were you while we were getting high?’ Acknowledges the passing of the torch from the Stone Roses to Oasis and it’s hard to dispute. Like all successful sequels, this album builds upon what works with Defintley Maybe and develops that which needed improvement (in this case, Tony McCarrol was replaced by the more able Alan White) and while guigsy and bonehead’s playing remained basic, Gallaghers songwriting moves forward and upward noticeably with this batch of songs, especially the b-sides from this era (acquiesce / the masterplan/ talk tonight / rockin’ chair could be assembled to create a third era defining album that other bands would die for). A monumental achievement based on an unwavering belief that rock n roll can change the world 4/5
Classic. 9.5/10
It's fashionable to hate Oasis these days, but if you were in the UK when this came out, you'd know how much of a cultural impact it had
If I could give this more than 5 I would. Haven’t listened to the full album in a while so it served as a good reminder this album is just banger after banger after banger. Is there even a bad song on the album?!
Probably Oasis’ best album and full of great songs. Some smash hits and a couple of hidden gems too. I really enjoyed this one. Their love of the Beatles shows in some of their lyrics is such a treat!
Surprisingly good considering how much I’ve hated wonderwall for the last 5 years
Great album, almost all songs are memorable hits
Brilliant album, nice to listen to it again
Great album. Great songs. Never as good as they thought they were. Original no, great yes. Three really good albums Definitely, What's the, and B side collection Master plan. My personal favourite Oasis Supersonic, drips with attitude. Saw them live Liam wanted a fight with a member of the audience!
I still own my original CD from '95. This was a nostalgic revisit from 30 years ago. I can still remember jamming out to this on my boombox in my college apartment. Great times and great album.
Fantastic album, wasn’t a huge fan of Oasis in the 90’s. But looking back they were a real decade defining band!
Love, love, love, love, love. My favorite Oasis album. Favorites: Hello, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory Would I listen to it again: Yes
Fantastic. Way better than the other oasis album in here that I listened to
I surely good album
The best Oasis album I've ever heard. Some really amazing songs on this, Wonderwall and DLBA back-to-back is crazy, She's Electric and Champagne Supernova are also perfect tracks. Songs go on a bit too long but overall sound very good. 4.5
Oasis is one of my favourite bands. Do I listen to this album often (not really). I much prefer listening to the albums after this point (the underrated ones). However that’s only because this is such a CLASSIC ALBUM. It can play in my head without the needle even hitting the record. It’s really transcendence Oasis and the band they are. They really made an Album that whether you like the Gallagher brothers or not, it stands on its own two feet “Wonderwall” as I see it Isn’t even an Oasis song, It’s just a HUGE MONSTER HIT OF A SONG. It really doesn’t matter who sings it. It Just happens to be by Oasis The real Oasis is in here though and that’s with the track “Some Might Say”. That is the real Oasis as a band. Not “Wonderwall” , “Don’t Look Back In Anger” or even “Champagne Supernova”. If you want to understand this band it’s in that song and its sound. Uplifting and Pop Rock’n’Roll Also their needs praise to underrated track “Hey Now” Which I feel is the real down and out track here. They never did this type of song again and it needs to be looked at amongst the hits “Cast No Shadow” is another gem of a song .I want played at my funeral and hits me to the emotional core “As They Took His Soul They Stole His Pride”. Simple and direct lyric Really the only song I don’t really care for is “Roll With It” and that’s because it’s kinda irks me. It’s still a catchy track but doesn’t say much! In the end Will I listen to other Oasis albums more ,YES. Is their Debut album “Definitely Maybe” still their best and arguably better , YES. BUT if I had to get someone into Oasis I wouldn’t hesitate to start them here. This maybe the only album someone may like by them. Cause as I said it previously it seems to transcend even the band who made it! 5/5 Classic Album
Up there
One of the best albums of the 90s, hands-down. While Blur won my heart, Oasis deserves all of the respect they get, especially on this record. It's big, anthemic, full of great sing-alongs. Anyway, here's Wonderwall.
I dunno if I would have done 4* if there wasn’t nostalgia attached to the songs for me. Didn’t realise I knew 50% of the album. Roll with it and morning glory are my faves. (And already known) Shoutout cast no shadow. Listened to first time and made me feel a lot
The only thing I knew before going into this album is that Wonderwall is over played. I can now see why Oasis was popular and very overplayed
I’ve got such a soft spot for a good 90’s album. Great album start to finish with a bunch of nostalgia mixed in.
Masterpiece! I like it. All tracks are amazing!
Nothing less than great!
Bueno
Evergreen fantastic songs
A classic that I could listen to over and over again.
One of the greatest albums EVER.
10
Absolute top-tier album from a top-tier rock outfit. One of the all-time greats. The whole 50 minutes and 6 seconds remains a treat to this day. I’m still hopeful I’ll stumble upon tickets to this year’s tour.
One of the best albums of all time! Top song on there is definitely 'Don't Look Back in Anger'. Will absolutely add this to my playlist!!!
I hate that I liked this as much as I did. And Man City sucks!
this album is everything. to me.
Oasis classics
Endlich wieder Rock! Klingt nach 30 Jahren immer noch frisch und aktuell!
Classic 👌
What an album, surely the best britpop album. They quite rightly released half of it as singles, and the album tracks are much better than definitely maybe. Morning glory probably my favourite oasis song. Terrible lyrics still, though the music is so good it hides this problem. Repeatedly there will be a great line followed by nonsense. Champagne supernova suffers the most from this, it's such an anthem it deserves better than the cannonball line. Still, overall, absolute classic.
I was a bit too young for Britpop - I know the main Oasis songs, like every normal Manc, but I don't have an emotional connection to the music. Having said that, belting album. Sure, lyrically nonsense, but pretty revolutionary, "loud", and exciting. Better than Definitely, Maybe. I don't think I knew Hello before listening to this album, listened to it quite a few times now. Nothing more to say that hasn't already been said more eloquently by others.
Album that came out when I was 9? It's the first album I can remember people at school talking about....I distinctly remember not knowing what they were on about and feeling left out.... Anyway, it's huge and it defines the britpop era for me. Yes, often the lyrics are nonsensical and are just there because they rhyme. Yes, they use the same trick and inflection in almost every song. Yes, they are imitating the Beatles. But it doesn't matter, the songs are anthemic and this album is class 5
A very comprehensive compilation of what makes 90s rock so great. The harmonies are moving, the instrumentation is technical, and the emotions are real. There are too many great songs on this album to count. From the opening track, the listener is hooked and wants the fun and marvel to last forever. All of the songs deliver, with some taking you to ecstasy, and others leaving you in a dream state. The true triumph of this album, though, is 'Don't Look Back in Anger', which may be one of the best songs to capture the feeling of pure euphoria. Not a single bad track is to be found in Morning Glory, and it has secured its legendary status for a reason.
Pretty similar to the previous Oasis album, which was good, but the vocals on this one were easier on the ears. Reminds me a bit of Stone Roses. Low 5.
I like britpop. Oasis is very good. I’ve listened to like 4 albums today. I’m going to bed
I really connected with the debut album and at the time I preferred it to this one. But, start to finish, this is a fantastic album. No filler. Yes, it was everywhere. And yes it was/is overplayed, as were the numerous covers of Wonderwall, but it is timeless and up there with the best from the Beatles and the Stones.
Had obviously already listened to it but hard to give it anything other than a 5. Iconic songs and a great sound
Classic
Banger, banger, banger ........ 5
Should’ve listened to this more in high school. Good stuff. Outside the “singles” it’s truly solid all the way around.
From the reviews here it seems like a lot of people get physically ill at the thought of Oasis but I don't get it. I was around 10 when this came out, an age when I watched a fair amount of MTV and listened to a fair amount of alternative radio so there's definitely a halo of nostalgia at play here, but to me Morning Glory is an excellent album that's aged really well. Back in the 90s I would've only known the singles - mainly "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Champagne Supernova" - but a couple years ago I listened to the full thing. It's a 5-star album for me, easy, and "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger" are both 5-and-a-half star tracks. It's got some other bangers outside the singles too. I like "She's Electric," even if the lyrics are admittedly a little goofy or lazy. "Some Might Say" is solid. And even on the lesser tracks on the album, I'm always feeling the music. It's just good clean work with brilliant hooks. I've realized that "sing-a-long-ability" is an important trait for me - the more fun something is to sing (even later when the music's no longer playing), the better a song's chances are of hitting the upper tiers of my personal ratings; Morning Glory scores really well on that metric. Anyway, here's "Wonderwall."
The sound of my early teenage years. There's no way this is going to be in any way an objective review of the music. Of the 3 big hits, I never really "got" wonderwall, but Don't look back in anger and Champagne supernova are such great tracks.
And suddenly i’m 13 again 🤪 Luv luv this album I was going to put all my favs but I fear I love every song
I’m familiar with the singles on this, and love them all. I’m excited to listen to the rest of the album. So far Hello and Roll With It are great. Don’t Look Back in Anger is one of my favorite songs of all-time. All of these songs are good. Great album.
The hype for Oasis when this came out was crazy from what remember. Biggest thing since the Beatles and what not. There are some amazing tracks on here but obviously the legacy didn't quite pan out all these years later. However, last o heard a reunion was actually in the works so the story is not done yet! For this listen I tried to focus on things I hadn't noticed before like the guitar in "Don't look back in anger" made me want to find a copy of Rock Band and play along with a plastic guitar. Not sure if that song was released for it, but it probably was. More hits on here than I realized, and it's still a good listen almost 30 years later. Between Oasis and Blur the 90s really had a good Britpop thing going. I am pretty sure I gave Parklife a 5 so I gotta do that for this one as I think it may even be a tad better in terms of high quality tracks there are like 3-4 that would compete for my favorite here. Favorite track "Don't look back in Anger" 5/5
oasis literally made my fucking life i just love them i have no words to describe how perfect this album is 6/5 cheers x
Great album at the time. Great sing-a-long tunes. But can’t make it through the whole album anymore- the songs sound a bit the same and lead singer’s voice a bit whiney in my ears (Noel or Liam - i forget)
Feels top heavy at first with Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger, but I ended up liking the album cut Hey Now! and Some Might Say. Not sure either song needed to be 5-6 minutes long, but Cast No Shadow is better, softer and with a genuine warmth to it. She's Electric is pretty good and the title track is kind of iconic, so maybe I was wrong. Champagne Supernova to finish. Go on then.
The only problem with this album is that wonderwall is overplayed
Hate the Gallaghers, Love Oasis
Populist masterclass. And who am I to judge? Noel is some musician. Liam is some bollocks but can sing a damn tune. Fucking brilliant. Listened to this on the quais of the Seine, a little drunk after having two shitty French beers. Felt like an absolute madlad, playing the air drums, air guitar, and singing in Liam's odd stance. Champagne Supernova ended when I was on Pont Neuf, looking at the Louvre. I saluted the place, while paying my respect to this fine piece of art
Greaat english vibes! Fan of Oasis since 14!
Truly an excellent album. Yes, the Gallagher brothers seem like absolutely awful human beings. But that doesn't affect my appreciation of how excellent this album is from start to finish.
Oi, wat u lookin’ at mate? Dis album iz a bloody classic an if u don’t agree I’ll punch ya in ur fookin mouf!
Simply put one of the best records to come out of the 90s. Long live Oasis!
I did not expect to love this album as much as I would. I also didn't know all of the songs I already knew. It is by far my favorite album in this project. such a passionate and fun loving energy throughout the album, but not without substance. so good.
best suggestion yet
Love this album

Kings of Britpop say no more. Music legends. Their best album next to Be Here Now

Pure genius
Absolutely packed with hits. I'm not a big Oasis fan, but this was such a good album.
Gracias hermanos Gallagher por la magia <3
I like this all the way through, it's got the energy of the first record and isn't afraid to show the band's soft side with lighter songs. Yes they're joked about for their attitude and people find the songs a little corny but I like this album a lot, it's consistently great throughout and each song having it's own merits.
I might give this a 4.5, but I do think it holds up and is a fun album. I didn't even like Oasis at the time, but I have grown to appreciate them. What they lack in subtlety or even some amount of experimentation, they make up for in solid songwriting and just being able to piece together songs that fit together completely from every aspect of the band and sound.
Despite the best efforts of Cast No Shadow to drag the album down, this is five stars. Too many bangers.
Fantabulous. Way more amazing songs than expected
You never forget your first musical love. When it's this good why would you even want to?
Love this one.
Oasis rules
Already love this album. I guess I never really listened to the whole thing before. It’s good but “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova” are two of my all time favorite songs.
Still an exceptional recording, with so many great (now classic) tunes.
I really enjoyed this album. Wonderwall is definitely the best known song on here, but it is far from the only one worth listening to. 5/5
Super fun and great energy. If a bit cliche and wannabe edgy
Never considered myself an Oasis fan really, but all my favorite tracks by the band are straight off this album. There's a little filler but it's pretty much a flawless record. Maybe more like a 4.5, but I'm rounding up here. 5 stars.
Perfect album.
Yeah, it is one of the most iconic albums of all time, but fuck me those lyrics are dodgy. Even as a teen I saw right through that faux poetic nonsense. Some massive tracks on here though. A grumpy and grudging five.
If you want an album of ballads you've come to the right place
First heard this album when Daryl Ford lent me a copy in grade 5. Sadly (and somewhat surprisingly) I didnt really appreciate it beyond Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova. Turns out 10 year old me had bad taste because this album is awesome (but I can’t stand wonderwall anymore after hearing it a million times). They hit the cocaine/arrogance sweet spot before they went off the rails on the next album.
4.6 I once went to a Oasis tribute band show and they played wonderwall 3 times during the night, which was, at the very least, 2 times to many. That being said there are too many non-wonderwall burners on this to not give it a 5 star.
Stupidly good Britpop
I’ve been meaning to get into these guys for a while and I’m so glad I did this challenge and they came up third. Perfect evolution of the Beatles in the grunge era. I hate those Brits but they make rock and roll happen. perfect perfect perfect CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOOOVEEERRRRRR
i did not think i would love it as much as i did! 10/10!
wait... what? MORNING GLORY? TWO OASIS ALBUM IN A ROW? THAT'S SOME TRUE BIBLICAL MOMENT! but anyway, today is gonna be the day that i rate my second oasis album on the list. there's no need for me to say too much about this album. it's biblical. I love it so much that I even went to Berwick Street myself and took photos in the location of the album cover last year, when I was travelling in UK. maybe I'm going to do it again this winter. Liam's voice is at somehow a peak. "Hello" is a good opening. "Roll With It" is full of attitude. "Don't Look Back in Anger" remains classic. "Hey Now" is top nonsense. "Some Might Say" has a philosophical lyric. "Champagne Supernova" is epic. "She's Electric" probably stole from "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", but it's ok. "Cast No Shadow" is interesting storytelling. "Morning Glory" was featured at the beginning of "Acquiesce", which is my favourite Oasis track. so is there something missing out, apart from "Bonehead's bank holiday"? yeah. (took out guitar) (put capo on the second fret) Anyway... Here's Wonderwall. 5/5
Favourite songs: Don't Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, Some Might Say, Morning Glory, Roll With It, Hello, Cast No Shadow Least favourite songs: The Swamp Song 5/5
I was kind of dreading listening to this one, Wonderwall has been played to the point of pure annoyance and I was worried the rest of the album was going to be as annoying. I was so wrong, man now I get why people love Oasis
Only recently was able to appreciate this band and album. Honestly can’t get enough now. They deserve all the hype they get.
It's good. Wonderwall is a classic, but the other songs are really good too :)
Amazing!!!
Exceptional.
Second best Oasis album but a banger.
10/10 Best album ever. It means everything to me. It got me into the music I love and shaped my life
Perfect. No notes.
Do you need a little time to wake up, wake up. Currently riding high again due to the reformation concerts. I'm much more of a blur fan to be perfectly honest, but this album just fucking rocks from start to finish. Noel is a songwriting legend.
great album, good example of britpop 8.5/10
This is THE Oasis album!! Massive tunes!!!! What a tracklist! A lot of my all time favourite Oasis songs are on this album This album is older than me and yet its still played wherever I go. Its rare to visit Manchester and not hear an Oasis song playing somewhere. Iconic This album hit me right in the feels today. Hearing these songs bring back tons of memories from different stages of my life. The day I finished school, drunk in a field, everyone singing Wonderwall. Being deep into the crowd at Leeds fest 2017 watching Liam's set. Listening to Oasis every morning on the way to work, so loud the car was shaking What I love about this album is how its stood the test of time. I was at a gig in Manchester on the day Oasis announced their reunion, and the crowd sang along to Wonderwall before the show. People of all ages with their lights in the air 🥹 Some much younger than me, but they knew all the words as if it was a new song Don't Look Back in Anger also becoming a song of unity in the city since 2017 🐝 I love hearing crowds of people singing along. The power of music is truly amazing, and this album is not only so good, but it brings people together! ❤️ One of the rare albums that really belongs on this list lol 5 ⭐️
What an incredible record. Is there even a bad song on this album? (at least not with the original 12 tracks.) Every song is so packed full of energy and emotion. The lyrics are grounding and the music is always moving and progressing. One minute you're grooving to Roll With It or Don't Look Back and then next minute you're singing your heart out to Wonderwall or being self reflective to Champagne Supernova. I love the hard rock and punk rock influence of this record. I'm also really taken back by the blues guitar elements of this album. The blues are EVERYWHERE. This basically influenced the entire alt rock movement, and every band eventually sounded like this. So taking yourself out of the meme-ification of Wonderwall, it's hard not to be blown away by this record and the unique sound and style of it.
The second best oasis album
One of my favourite albums of all time, so not much I can say that's not been said already.
One of the rare near perfect albums ever recorded. Noel was unconscious for 2-3 years, everything he wrote was a banger. We all know the hits but Side 2 is the highlight for me, Some Might Say, Cast No Shadow and one of my favourite of all time, the title track, What’s the Story Morning Glory. 9.7/10
immaculate eternal lucid dreaming goat shadowcasting on cloud nine 10/10
There is absolutely no way I could give this anything other than a 5, it will always be a huge regret I didn’t see them live til 97! I remember hearing Lamacq playing snippets of Cast No Shadow and Champagne Supernova before its release during an interview with Liam and Noel and knowing full well they were gonna take over things!
Bad hated it
I think negative reviews of these are always unfair, calling it "lager" rock. How many bands could write an album of songs which a large number of still resonate with people decades later? There is a certain element of snobbery about it. 5*
If not the best album of the 1990s, this is certainly in the conversation for that spot. Every track here is solid.
5/5. Liam said they were better than the Beatles, and although that is a stretch, it's hard to deny their songwriting prowess. Every song (save maybe one or two) is an absolute pop rock masterpiece. This is a near perfect front to back experience, I'll recommend it to anyone. There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Just awesome. Best Song: Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger
anyway, here's Wonderwall
Call it a guilty pleasure, but I do enjoy Oasis
Really stands the test of time. Not an inch of fat on this album (and they had plenty of b-sides from this period that are album worthy)
Y'know, there was a moment listening to blur's eponymous debut album that I thought they were my favorite Britpop group. And not just because their frontman went on to co-create Noodle and the rest of Gorillaz, of course. I'm just staring at the quantity of great material they have, and how much of it is absolute quality. Heck, how much of it sounds unique from each other. Like, I don't consider blur to have "one sounds," necessarily; they kinda jus' do whatever they want, while still being able to fit under the "Britpop" label. It's great stuff, and it's interesting to hear what they're gonna do next. Versus today's subject, Oasis. While I can name a number of blur albums of note, there's really only two Oasis albums I figure are worth consideration. Maybe three if you wanna include BE HERE NOW as "the album that killed Britpop." As for their sound... Yeah, they have **a** sound: Beatlesque Britpop that's huge to the point of potentially being to blame for the Loudness War. Not really as interesting to consider as all of blur's various turns from song to song. So, obviously, in my mind blur wins the Britpop War. They're just more sonically intriguing. And that's just that, right? But then I actually fully listened to today's album, for the first time in a while. And... Y'know, there's a very good reason why Oasis was more of an international success than blur. Why, for example, people might know more Oasis songs than "Wonderwall", then they'd know more blur songs than "Song 2" (besides that blur might be too obviously British). And simply, it **is** their sound. Not just the comparisons you can make to the Beatles (which are a "plus" in my book, anyway), but their hugeness, and How anthemic they can be. They sound and feel like the biggest songs in the world, demanding to be made classics. And, hey, lookit — they did. Now, I wanna make clear, it's not **just** the bigness; the songwriting behind it plays just as important a role. If you want proof of that, just look at BE HERE NOW. In a haze of cocaine and conflict ("wibbling rivalry," even), the quality of their songwriting went straight out the window and... Well, like I said: "the album that killed Britpop." The songs there just drag on forever, largely because they just hit the same hook over and over and over again. After a while, it can get draining. And the thing is, I **do** kinda like "All Around The World" for how monstrously big it grows over its **nine minute** runtime. Even then, however, it still kinda exists in my mind as "the template for the overgrown, overstuffed and overblown mess of a song one of my characters would create in a horribly misguided attempt to make something big and important." Y'get what I mean? Whereas on this album, the songwriting is so much tighter and more focused. They can go on a little, but they never overstay their welcome, or at least they do enough new or the hooks are just that good that it's never really an issue. "Wonderwall" didn't get played as much as it did for nothing. Plus, y'know, "Some Might Say", "Don't Look Back In Anger", "Champagne Supernova"... Even the songs on here that aren't singles! Like, as much as I wanna act all "big brain" and smart and prefer blur for it's my eclectic turns, in the end, I can be a bit more simple than that. Some times, a lot of times, I turn on to big hooks, and this album has that in spades. blur, as much as I like them (and Gorillaz), they really can't compete on that front. "Woo-hoo" just don't stack. So while, thanks to this list and a compilation I've heard, I do have a lot more love for and interest in blur than I used to, I'd still probably reach for Oasis first. Oasis just tickles my "melody first" brain so much better. Of course, this Oasis album is getting the same 5 I gave the last blur album my group got, so it's not like there was really ever any competition to begin with. They're both fantastic, just for different reasons, and I'm happy they've both provided us with so many wonderful songs. Besides, neither group has Noodle as a member like Gorillaz does, and that alone means Gorillaz win in any imaginary war I'd make up. That's just fact.
Y'know, despite all the infighting and the Beatles influences being way too obvious (especially on Be Here Now), the Gallagher brothers made some of the best damn rock of the 90s at their creative peak. Solid 5 stars.
I’m at a 5. My experience with Oasis is still relatively untainted and fresh – yes, everyone knows Wonderwall, and a lot of people know Champagne Supernova, and I’m guilty of knowing (and loving) both. This was always gonna get at least a 3 on the strength of those 2 tracks alone. Past that though, I’m still fresh as a daisy on pretty much all of their stuff; I know Noel and Liam can be pretentious as hell, always at odds, and their confidence is their biggest flaw as much as it is their biggest strength. It’s a good thing this album uses it as an incredible strength – they shot their shot with the most stadium-friendly rock one could ever produce, without any guarantee that they could really fill out stadiums like that, and they absolutely fucking nailed it. I’m leaning fully into guilty pleasure mode on a lot of these tracks, and I don’t really care. The melodies are fun, the vocals are great, and when the bombast and showmanship matches the quality like this, it just comes across as a sort of victory lap to me, rather than corporate or manufactured. It feels like an indie band that “made it” their way, in their own style, without selling out or sacrificing, even if it probably leans closer to “selling out”. I just loved this album from front to back. I think Hello’s immediate foreshadowing of Wonderwall kinda eased me in, and I never really looked back – these are energetic tracks, and while a few go a bit too long, or lean into a bit of repetition, I don’t think there’s ever really a dull moment on here. The lyrics are probably the weakest part here, but the vocals and instrumentation shoot this album up pretty damn high for me – when the lyrics do match the quality of the instrumentals, though, it leads to something excellent. If the lyrics, vocals, and instrumentals all click at the same time, it leads to something spectacular. This album only ever hits on “spectacular” a few times for me, at varying points throughout some of the songs, but it clicks on “excellent” a lot of the time. Big shoutout to “Cast No Shadow”, by the way. I’m sure some people will be absolutely snobbish about an album like this, and I’d be remiss to not recognize my own hypocrisy with how much I tore into Fuzzy Logic by Super Furry Animals for what I perceived as trying to achieve this type of success on a different, more commercialized “Hollywood soundtrack” scale. Maybe it’s because of my own bias with Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova prior to listening to the album in full, but I never felt like I was listening to something inauthentic throughout the album like I did with Fuzzy Logic. There is a fully realized style here that gets pretty adhered to, and while the variety of the album itself is admittedly weaker because of it, it doesn’t make the experience feel lesser to me. This feels like a proper setlist, cohesive, earning its stripes as a 50 minute piece with a beginning and ending, all concocted by Liam and Noel and the rest of the band with the express purpose of selling out stadiums and realizing their dreams. Is that a bad thing? I dunno, maybe. Maybe I’m the snob for adoring one type of commercial appeal and ripping into the other, but regardless of my own introspections, this album just clicked perfectly for me. This does feel like the inflection point that shifted Britpop for the last half of the 90s, for better or for worse. Its legacy will likely stand as Oasis’ magnum opus, a seminal album of the 1990s, and for unfortunately (and lovingly) giving us Wonderwall. It’s a lot of different things, arguably dated being among them, but for my tastes, I just deeply, deeply enjoyed it. Rather easy 5 for me.
Acoustic melancholic anthem may be all Oasis can do, but they do it really well. Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova are enough to earn this top marks. They may be overplayed, but there’s a reason they’re overplayed.
Huge album. Not Definitely Maybe. But still deserving of the fiver. Probably the last good thing they did as well. Simpsons: No
Incredible easy 5.
Oasis are alright but there's no way this is a great album? Surely they just have a few bangers and that's it? How wrong I was, banger of an album. I was tempted to dock them a star for being City supporters but it's too good to do that.
ein album voller toller songs mit fantastischem sound - danke oasis! soundtrack meiner 20er und einfach immer noch stark. definitiv eines meiner lieblingsalben!
This album never gets old. Wonderwall may be overplayed, but it's still a great song, and the rest of the album aged well too. 4.5/5 stars
truemusic!
Definitely Maybe was a breakout hit but this is the album that turned Oasis into a band who would sell out stadiums for decades to come (even with dynamic pricing taken into account!). Also the album where Noel emerged as a capable singer himself which was a key moment. There's something about the production on this and DM which makes the guitars really 'pop' - Noel has never been a hugely technical guitarist but they sound amazing in places. Maybe it's just volume/mixing, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say, but it elevates the music a lot. WTSMG has everything from rockers (Morning Glory), ballads (Cast No Shadow), smash hits (Wonderwall), singalong anthems (Don't Look Back In Anger) and an epic, psychedelic closer (Champagne Supernova). It still sounds great nearly 30 years on
i want to punch the asshole brothers in this band so bad. something about them pisses me off. Their little British faces trigger some nascent violent urge within. that being said the music is pretty good.
Otros discos de 1995 fueron: P J HARVEY: To Bring You My Love, TRICKY: Maxinquaye, TINDERSTICKS: The Second Album, BJÖRK: Post, PULP: Different Class, SMASHING PUMPKINS: Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, SUPERGRASS: I Should Coco, GARBAGE: Garbage, THE JAYHAWKS - Tomorrow the green grass, TEENAGE FANCLUB: Grand Prix, RADIOHEAD: The Bends, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: The Ghost Of Tom Joad, ELASTICA: Elastica, D’ANGELO: Brown Sugar, WILCO: A M, SPIRITUALIZED: Pure Phase, YO LA TENGO: Electr-O-Pura, Slowdive (‘Pygmalion’), GUIDED BY VOICES- Alien lanes También: THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS: Exit Planet Dust, GOLDIE: Timeless, FOO FIGHTERS: Foo Fighters, BLACK GRAPE: It’s Great When You Are Straight Yeah PAVEMENT: Wowee Zowee , SPAIN: The Blue Moods Of Spain THE AMPS: Pacer, THE PRESIDENTS OF U.S.A. - The Presidents of U.S.A., PAUL WELLER - Stanley road, BEN FOLDS FIVE - Ben Folds Five, SONIC YOUTH - Washing machine, NEIL YOUNG & PEARL JAM - Mirror ball, MATTHEW SWEET - 100% Fun, LUNA - Penthouse, CHRIS ISAAK- Forever Blue, Throwing Muses- University, Supersuckers- The Sacrilicious Sounds of the Supersuckers, Superchunk -Here’s Where the Strings Come In, Annie Lennox- Medusa, Jamiroquai-The Return of the Space Cowboy, THE VERVE- A northern soul, THE MAGNETIC FIELDS- Get lost, U2 (Passengers)- Original soundtracks 1, Prince - The Gold Experience, NO DOUBT- Tragic Kingdom. Y el Second coming de Stone Roses, pero eso es otra historia...
This is, to my mind, a definite five star album: when you look at the track listing you realise just how many great songs are on this. Some of the songs are just so perfect that it's difficult to imagine them not being around (yes, I mean you Champagne Supernova) - I think this is the mark of greatness. Cast no Shadow is such a poetic number, followed by She's Electric. I mean, come on - these are fantastic tracks. And there are more, obviously - all on one album. Most bands can only dream of writing an album like this - it's even better than I remember. I think not having listened to it for a while has helped me to really hear it again, if you see what I mean. "Slip into the eye of your mind ... " Brilliant.
I think when you can call an album THE Oasis album, it is probably quite good. Obviously Don’t Look Back In Anger/Wonderwall are great, but I had a lot of good things to say about Roll With It, Morning Glory, She’s Electric, and even Talk Tonight (which might not be on the original listing idk). This was going to be a 4, as some of the songs in the middle/back end drone on a little bit for me, but then Champagne Supernova comes on and you can’t help but feel like it was all part of the plan to build up to such a finale. Epic song.
I could go on and on about how great this album is, but I don’t need to. The music and its legacy speaks for itself. Mega. Roll (with it) on Heaton Park 2025!
I didn't know they did other songs that sounded different than wonderwall.
This album slaps! I was already a fan of a few of their songs but never listened to this album in full. Great time all around. 'Champagne Supernova' wins my top pick. Anyway, here's 'Wonderwall'
I added a few of the songs to my like list in Spotify.
Banger after banger after banger.
PEAK
Oasis is for the girlies who don't know how to talk to guys. Oasis is for the girlies who destroy themselves over and over again. Oasis is for the girlies who scream into their pillows at night. Oasis is for the girlies who don't know when to stop. Oasis is for the girlies who sing Don't Look Back In Anger to comfort themselves during a tennis match. Oasis is for the girlies who think about their crush when listening to Wonderwall. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? is for all us girlies out there. Stay safe yall ✌️
beautiful
Easy 5 stars. Honestly a perfect rock album. I had been thinking I liked their debut more but after relistening I do think this one is slightly more polished overall. I’m handing out another perfect score, I mean when cast no shadow and she’s electric are your weakest songs on the album that’s pretty absurd. It’s even crazier when you consider how good their B sides are that didn’t even make it. I think I’m around 5 perfect scores after about 450 albums. Rating: 5.0
One of the most impressive things this album does is make Wonderwall not feel overplayed in the context of the album. There are a couple of stinkers, but for the most part this album has some all time bangers, Don't Look Back In Anger, Some Might Say, and Champagne Supernova especially. A lot of great melodies throughout. Champagne Supernova is one of the best closers of all time, I just love the solo/outro section. Low 5
At first I thought, "This is just OK." And I didn't want to deal with an entire album of Liam Gallagher's voice. (One person said "Liam Gallagher makes whining work.) So I turned it off and went on with life after "Wonderwall." Over coffee this morning, started in again, just to be fair. "Hey Now" hooked me in. From there it was pure enjoyment. Even looping back around to the earlier songs. Maybe it's the coffee. Maybe it's the morning (I mean, right?). Maybe the album is really good after all.
Venga, un 5 porque hay que tener este vinilo, es un clásico del indie, aunque soy más de Blur.
I really like this album 5/5
Hard to disentangle nostalgia from my love for this album. I just love it. It has feeling, good lyrics, and transports me back to my teenage years.
Fantastic album.
Noteworthy songs - 808080808 Magical Dream - Kinda catchy synth, but the rest is bland. Ancodia - Good background noise. Cobra Bora - Actually kind of cool, reminds me of Bomberman Hero. Pacific 202 - N64 vibes, but melody isn't great. Donkey Doctor - Nothing too special, weird ending. 808080808 - Really cool beginning. A little slow in the middle but stays interesting enough. Sunrise - Nothing remarkable. The Fat Shadow - Eerie. Very short.
i wonder what it's like being the other guys in oasis. do you hang around and just do your job while watching noel and liam murder each other with vox ac30s? this has a much bigger sound than definitely maybe, probably because this is about what happens once you've made it - you're no longer plunking your way through rock songs in the garage but playing to massive stadiums. the tension isn't just between the brothers but between oasis and the long shadow of the beatles. it's anxiety of influence: the album (although if you played this to harold bloom it would've given the poor dude a seizure)
Just a banger of an album. Bunch of classics and a cohesive package overall.
Top-tier 90’s Brit Rock.
If you're team Blur, not team Oasis, I just know you're an absolute insufferable prick
I’m no fan of Oasis at all. During the big “Oasis or Blur?” debate of the 90’s - I had my feet firmly in the camp of Blur. That’s still the case, even though nobody talks about it anymore. I find Oasis limited as musicians, Liam’s voice, while unique, isn’t the best. Noel’s songwriting can be fairly derivative of The Beatles and his guitar playing doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. But I can’t really deny this album is a perfect work to represent the Britpop movement that swept the world in the 90’s; and it has also aged incredibly gracefully. The pop sensibility on display is actually pretty astounding. And almost every track is an absolute banger to the point you could tell someone who hasn’t listened to Oasis that this is a greatest hits compilation and they’d believe you. So as I said - I’m no fan of this band whatsoever. But I’m not going to deny a fantastic LP when I hear one. In this 1001 (or 1089) album challenge, ‘…Morning Glory’ gets my first perfect 5/5 rating.
A great album. I particularly enjoyed listening to Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger again. 5/5
5/5
The finest of a rock and roll band should do. Each song could be a hit, like it was.
"(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" is the second album by English rock band Oasis. The songs were focused "in more balladry and emphasis in "huge" choruses with string arrangements and varied instrumentation than their more "rugged" debut "Definitely, Maybe."" The album was produced by Owen Morris and the group's lead guitarist and chief writer Noel Gallagher. The album did very well commercially hitting #1 in the UK and #4 in the US and propelled the band from a crossover indie act to international rock stardom. The album had an initial lukewarm critical reception but is now considered a seminal record in Britpop and the 90's in general. The band starts out rockin' with "Hello." A wah-wah guitar and then layered guitars. Lead singer Liam Gallagher comes out very demonstrative with ragged vocals in "Roll With It." Guitar slashes, acoustic guitar and melodic guitars. It's about being oneself. We see the first use of strings in the massive hit "Wonderall." For me this is the first song I think when you say Oasis. Liam said that song is about an imaginary friend who's going to save you from yourself. Liam also said that their fifth single "Don't Look Back in Anger" is more about looking forward than recalling the past. Beatle-esque earnest piano keys and an electric guitar carrying the melody. Probably Noel's best guitar solo in the middle. Helicopter noises and loud guitar noises open "Morning Glory." No messin' around here, this is the hardest drivin' song on the album. Layered guitars creating a whirling storm. Liam's vocals pressing. Probably my favorite song on the album as well. The album closes with their most ballad of ballads in "Champagne Supervova." Ocean wave sounds open. Paul Weller contributes. For all the ballad talk, it still has an edgy guitar along with Liam's strung-out vocals as he asks "where were you when we were getting high." Another album highlight. This album has melodic song after melodic song. Noel's guitar shines. The accompanied strings are selectively added. For all the mention of "soft" songs, there are a number of rockers too. At start of the album, it's hit after hit, with all of them still getting heavy airplay (at least to the stations I listen to). This album sounded very good today. It has very well constructed songs, is an excellent album and is no surprise that they became a massive band.
I did not pay much attention to Oasis when they rose to fame and so was only familiar with their hits. This album surprised me. Very solid from start to finish. Songs of note include "Wonderwall", "Hey Now", "Some Might Say" and "Round Are Way". Some good covers included as well. Gonna give it a five!
Classic
Favourite tracks: hello; roll with it; wonderwall; don't look back in anger; hey now; some might say; she's electric; cast no shadow; morning glory; champagne supernova
4.6/5 - listened 2x. top notch and an old favorite
Apparently I forgot to rate this when I listened to it, which is ironic because this is one of the most unforgettable albums of all time. From start to finish there is not a thing about it to be changed. They absolutely perfected their style of each and every track and created something truly special. Wonderwall is here too.
Consistent sound, but consistently catchy. The definitive Britpop album. So anyway here’s Wonderwall…
Can’t help but love - it’s got nearly all their bangers on one album.
Would I listen to it again: yes Is it a no-skip album: yes Do I like it: yes

But I admit that Oasis were definitely maybe as good as them. In the battle "Wonderwall" vs. "Don't Look Back In Anger" I choose what (I suppose) most of people wouldn't, and that is the magnificent "Don't Look Back In Anger" which I consider one of the best songs of the nineties. Don't get me wrong, "Wonderwall" is also creme de la creme of British music. Even "The Masterplan", which was on the B side of "Wonderwall" single is excellent (shame it wasn't on this album)! I would single out "Champagne Supernova" as the third best song from the album. Yeah, it's a five stars album, who am I kidding.
9/10
Front to back, this album is incredible. Not much else to say. It’s just incredible.
Honestly every song is good. My only complaint is lack of diversity in the sound, but that is also what makes me immediately know that a song is by Oasis, and it is a sound that many other bands have tried to replicate, so I’m not sure if I can take it away from them. Wonderwall, despite its hate, is replayed so frequently for a reason. Also love Don’t Look Back in Anger, Hey Now, She’s Electric. I think that’s enough for a 5 star.
I’ll never forget the first time I heard “Don’t look back in anger”. Ariana grande sang it after she had this terrorist attack at her show and it was beautiful. When I finally listened to the original I was like damn, this is an freakin anthem right here. This album was already at minimum going to be a 4 for me just because of how much I like that song but I was kinda shocked how much I liked a bunch of the other songs I didn’t know as well. She’s electric and champagne supernova freakin jam. Every song I found myself humming along, even on a first listen which is pretty incredible. Pretentious music snobs could argue that being a sign of a sell out/simplistic songwriting but to me it’s in fact quite the opposite. With some of the shite we’ve seen on this list before we know how hard it can be to create a listenable/memorable album, let alone a single song. Well anyways, here a 5
An album that contains an eternal classic in Wonderwall and another quintessential 90s alternative jam in Champagne Supernova. It’s hard to deny the relevance of an album when it has a song that you’d have a hard time finding someone that’s never heard its biggest single that still produces memes 30 years later. The rest of the album is fantastic, a personal favorite of mine is Don’t Look Back in Anger, and there are other hidden gems as well. A great way to kick of the week.
Obviously everyone knows that the iconic song from this album has become a meme to be made fun of. Maybe it's because of it's slightly off drawn out notes, or maybe it was just over played. Regardless of the jokes, that song is always great every time I hear it. I was at a We The Kings concert recently and in the middle of their set they played an unexpected acoustic version of it. After the initial laugh and groan by the crowd everyone slowly started to sing along. Halfway through you couldn't even hear the band anymore. Just everyone singing the lyrics at the top of their lungs. The crowd even sang the chorus one more time on their own without the band. It's fun to make fun of, but deep down everyone loves it. "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Champagne Supernova" are also songs that I've know forever but never new they were part of this album. The rest is solid and there's not really anything I have to complain about. Anyway, here's Wonderwall!
Some great tracks on this album, and liam sounding at his best.
92/100
Excited about this one, iconic in my life. Oasis is 90s brit rock. On nostalgia alone this album gets 5*. Is cast no shadow wonderwall in a minor key? Highlights: some might say, wonderwall (pretend it's the first time you're ever hearing it), don't look back in anger (absolute banger), champagne supernova (a vibe)
The album has a young spirit. It's understandable why it's become so popular in UK in 1995.
5 stars. No explanation needed
Of course 5 stars
This album is so damn good. Morning Glory, Champagne Supernova, Hello, Wonderwall - there isn't a bad song.
Screw the haters, this is a great album. Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova are overplayed and cheesy but they are good songs. Don't Look Back in Anger is a classic. She's Electric is one of the best approximation Beatles homages ever. Good stuff.
stone cold classic
Classic
This is the pinnacle of the brit-pop years. I love every single song. My favorites are Cast No Shadow and She's Electric. Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger, and Champagne Supernova are so famous that you could start playing them at any location in the western world and have a crowd singing along. I lived in England from '97 to '08 and this was the most played album on the radio and at gatherings for that entire period. I'm sure this is still true today. Their only true rival was Coldplay, whose works never quite reached the heights that this album did. I've listened to this album back to front hundreds of times, and I'll do it hundreds more. This album is timeless and left a gargantuan mark on the world. It's an easy 10. 10/10

Teamet virkelig bare er ømt punkt
britpop perfection, no bad songs whatsoever
It’s difficult for me to separate this band and this album from all the boneheaded punters at their shows back in that day, along with the sheer ubiquity of this music for a good 3-4 years solid. Enough already! Setting all that aside, the album is brilliant, hardly any filler and sing-song catchy as hell. Play it loud.
Its a perfect pop record. All killer, no filler
A certified Classic.
