good lyrics but too screamy

Please, please, please listen to the Breeders or L7 or even Hole’s first album instead. This album is as lazy, derivative, and unimaginative as it gets. The production is horrible as well. She walks on me and gutless are supposed to be ragers and hardcore but the production makes them sound like a mild green day song. These songs are barely songs, no form or structure to them. Do i even have to say who they’re ripping off from on this album?

I caught some provocative lyrics that I can appreciate. But ultimately, it was an exercise is perseverance to finish it his album. Screaming rock is just not my jam, and for every lyric that I found interesting, there were 4 more I found insipid or banal. Ick. Will not be repeating this album.

There are reasons to appreciate Courtney Love: as a woman in rock, as someone who went through the wringer, etc. But her music is not one of them.

So many albums to listen to. Not sure this was one of them has to be better albums that are not on this list

Not my genre, although I can appreciate the music, somewhat. I'm not a fan of that vocal styling. But I'm glad I listened. Now I have an informed opinion, instead of an uninformed opinion. There's that.

Perhaps I'm just grumpy because my dog died and perhaps I will lose my 90s membership card but I am not a fan of Hole and never have been. Sadly this album did not change my mind. For me personally 1 star at best.

Il grunge mi fa cascare le palle. Si vede che la cantante ha grinta e uno stile personale, ma questo modo di cantare strascicato che mi fa venire voglia di uccidermi. L'accompagnamento è creativo, nei limiti del genere.

Might be a little harsh but as far as grunge albums go this one is pretty far down the list for me.

I really hated this back when it came out, but it's always good to give something a fresh try with hopefully more mature ears :) .... ...but less than a minute into "Miss World" and I want to take some of those kill-me pills C Love is screaming about. Vocals rarely "make" an album/song for me but they do often destroy it and this is a great example of the latter. If you like this style of punk vocals or it simply doesn't bother you, you might really like this album - some of the music is aggressive in a quintessential early 90s fashion and there is some room for quality melodies. Obvious similarities to ~Smashing Pumpkins, Juliana Hatfield. I almost feel like there's little middle-ground here, and for me mostly because of vocals I can guarantee I'll wait at least 20 years to voluntarily listen to this again. 2/10

Lepiej bym tego nie ujal, live through this, przez te dziure, na liscie, dawno nie bylo albumu tak nie na miejscu jak ten, banda praktycznie zenska, dodatkowo zony cobainowej, wiec wiadomo dlaczego sprzedaze sie zgadzaly, zwlaszcza patrzac na date wydania plyty, ktora praktycznie pokrywa sie z samobojem kobejnowym, ale co jest w ogole grane, oczywiscie nic innego jak alternatywny rok, tak alternatywny ze az grungowy, wiec walenie po lopatach i wyjce na calego przeplataja sie z kawalkami na ktorych wokalistka zwalnia i nistetety daje sie przysluchac liryce, bo nie ma za bardo na czym ucha zawiesic, album jest tak typowy jak tylko komercyjny alternatywny rok moze byc, nie udalo mi sie nawet wylowic czegos sluchablowego na plejke, a sam odsluch mocno wymeczylem, a jedyne co mi pewnie po nim zostanie to info, ze kobajnowa zona tez zrobila kariere w muzyce, dopiero po kobejnie rzecz jasna
