What in the blue Laurel Canyon hell is this

The album is not available on streaming :-(

this feels like the equivalent of a bad hallmark movie

not available on spotify. listened to everclear instead. 1 or 2

The book mentioned these guys compared THEMSELVES to R.E.M. and were surprised when they hit it big instead. Tt's pretty obvious why. None of these songs are big radio hits. They're personal stories for members of the band. There's no broader appeal unless you're into moody, emotional melancholia.

very slow and not my cuppa

This was hard to find - not on any streaming services as far as I can tell, at least not any that I have access to. I think I listened to it - there was a version of it on YouTube, although there was one song somewhere in the middle that didn’t seem to fit all that well. In any case, didn’t like it. Not even a bit. Nothing of interest for me here at all. Not a fan. Period.

Way overrated hipster b.s... Not worth the trouble of finding it somewhere to listen to this album.

Can’t find on Spotify but what I did listen to was meh. Pretty bland

Not much here that I enjoyed, appreciate the effort

Nothing to say in my nothing review about this nothing album by a nothing band with a nothing legacy.

Kuullostaa siltä miltä maistuu ja näyttää.. näin on...

Unable to review - not available on Tidal.

Unfortunately, this sounds a bit like the music that was performed by the fictional character Rufus and his band Lincoln Hawk from the hit show Gossip Girl. 90’s pastiche that falls under the Smiths umbrellas of influence, with an R.E.M sound pallet. “Lonely” in particular was a lowlight for me. The singing was the opposite of charismatic, and so was the content of its lyrics. Hard for me to say this, but at least my other infamous 1 star band PiL takes some sort of convicted angle with their sound and style. Having to go to YouTube for this one when I was at the gym early in the morning was the dagger

This did nothing for me

Maybe this is a lesson in why not to read the reviews before you listen. I saw somebody describe this as like going to hear your coworker's band on a Wednesday night and thinking they aren't as bad as you feared. For me, it was like that, except occasionally dipping down into just as bad as I feared.

Is this a parody album?

This is the American equivalent of the forgettable British rock that pollutes this list

Not available on streaming

Bit of a chore to find this album. Finally got it on You Tube. I did not like this. I tried to give this a chance but to no avail. It was a struggle to finish. There had to be a better album to put on this list. No thanks. 1/5

This is a joke album right?

gibt es nicht auf Spotify oder apple Musik, 1 Stern, auf YouTube gefunden

Odd album. Is it country? Indie pop? Easy listening? Whatever the album is, it is not my cup of tea.

No way anyone hears this and thinks “wow, this guy can sing”. Worse than karaoke night at the local tavern.

Not quite

Don’t feel like going to YouTube to listen to this and the global reviews aren’t doing it any favors. This album gets a 1

somehow annoyingly boring

This might be the biggest load of nothing yet. Of course this album isn’t on Spotify, it’s true home is a 99p bucket in Home Bargains, next to The Best of Tina Turner and Drive Time Vol 4. It’s probably not a one star album but there is no fucking way it should be on this list.

Ok record. The tracks kind of melt together, hard to say anything special about the songs. Not my vibr

Sounds like The Cure music, with a young Bruce Springsteen. Pass

Terrible to me. Hard to listen. I don't even know did I listen all songs...

Even worse that lame pop or weak synth music is weak country or "americana / alt-country". I can't stand this type of music, at all. The idea of suffering through the whole album is not an option.

Both hard to listen to (in that it’s not on Spotify) and hard to listen to (in that it’s awful). Just wholly unnecessary, sincerely maybe the worst thing I’ve listened to for this project thus far. At least the experimental noise music is trying to do something new. This is nothing. Weightless, devoid of worth. A stupidly named band with no identity and nothing to offer. Absolutely should not be on this list.

unavailable on spotify or prime, so unable to rate

pleh bleh mmmhmm yeh bleh yuck

not in spotify

I can't decide if purposely grating noise bands or uninspired guitar pop is worse in this list. Just because you can play a guitar and we're on indie radio doesn't mean it's good. The fact that they are ripping off other better bands doesn't help. Highway 5 is the only song I'd ever want to hear again, and that's only if nothing else was available.

Terribly boring!

Can’t access

Looked up the tracks on YouTube. Just sounds like generic indie from the 90s but from 88 so must be influential. Not one to dig out if you can’t be arsed.

I was left guessing what the importance of this band and album were. This was pretty bad. The lyrics were crap, the production was crap, and the singing was crap.

Doesn’t seem to be available in Canada.

Langweilig.

Two songs in I felt I knew where this was going. Four songs in I think I was right. Seems so featureless that I am trying to work out who listens to this and where it gets played? Maybe US college radio. Nul points from this UK judge, anyway.

This album is not great to begin with, and the hurdles of it not being readily available on the streamers doesn't help it's cause. Found this lacking and generally pretty boring. Not sure why it's on this list, though I don't understand why a lot things are on this list.

Not in Apple Music

No snap. No joy.

Yet another that is not on Apple Music in Canada. Then again, I did listen to couple of others from them I condone Apple in saving us from this much tedium and mediocrity in songwriting.

I almost hate to slate this as it's so obscure it's beyond belief. Maybe it's quite ahead of it's time but it really it's that special and certainly shouldn't be in the 1001.

Not on Spotify.

Can’t listen on Spotify

This album was fine

I'm sure the lead singer got shoved in countless high school lockers. Picturing that was the only enjoyable part of my listen.

Not on Spotify

Ah, num achei nem no spotify, nem no deezer. É mais um indie?

Not on Spotify L, got hit with a ton of YouTube ads

Didn’t like this music

Nah, we can do without this one. One unexceptional guitar strum out of five

could not find album to listen, so - too bad!

Actually bad. Generic and uninspired almost country. Nothing on this I haven't heard someone else do better.

i couldn't listen to this on Spotify

Singer sounded so apathetic I've hardly ever heard something as boring. Boring songs, boring instrumentation, boring style.

It’s not on Spotify so cant listen

Couldn’t get this album on Spot or Apple, so I listened to their top album as rated by AllMusic.com, 1991’s Everclear. Ugh. If California is anything like this one, pass. Don’t know why I must hear this album before I die, but I’m perfectly willing to give it a listen after I’m dead.

No disponible en Spotify

I'm struggling to find anything interesting or significant about this album.

I was excited because I'd never heard of this before, and the thrill of the new was in me. What a shame then, that this sounds like Morrissey in a cowboy hat without the jokes.

Nah . . .

Not on Spotify

Not available on spotify

Can’t find it easily. Gets 1 star.

cann't listen to

Can’t imagine being a music producer and listening to a million songs like these to find a good one.

The label or band must have had some falling out with the Powers That Stream, because this album is nowhere to be found on 21st music listening services. That said, its not good anyway. 1/5

Difficult to find to listen to. Didn't like this.

Not on Spotify…fail

forgettable

Couldn’t find this one on iTunes

wow, to think I delayed the list so I could listen to this on YT. this is utterly and completely meh... 1 star down for not being on streaming services being it such a meh album.

Koukkuskeptisiä dynamiikka-addikteja.

Discount Don Henly, wanna be morrisey. Pass.

Upsettingly boring. This sounds like the type of album I would have picked up on CD at the thrift store 10-15 years ago, and been upset over the 50 cents wasted.

Painful with the exception of one song. I'm not sure if that song was great because it didn't sound like the rest of their dumpster fire music or because for one fleeting moment, I thought I had reached the end and was onto another band. Either way... only one song worth listening to.

Can’t find it I ain’t got time for this

Boring AF.

This stinks and is boring.

Maybe it’s great but it’s not on Spotify so I’ll never know

whiny indie mixed with country, horrible

What a crock. Indie rock in the vein of Toad the Wet Sprocket, except slow, tuneless, and terrible.

Whining. Uninspired. Thin vocals. The sound of low T. At one point I thought, “well this sounds a little catchier”, but it was only YouTube had cut to a grocery store ad.

Huge merp on this one.

Wtf was this

Not on spotify

Already knocking since I need to look this up on Youtube. This is pretty boring. Up until some wild harmonica in Bad Liquor. Honestly every single song sounds the same. It's not a bad sound just boring a lame. Should've known coming from a band named American Music Club. With all the words in the world they chose that?????? Lame. 1.5 and I'm going to round down on this one.

I was not too fond of it from the first note to the end of the last song.

No esta en Spotify

I hate this middle of the road dirge.

American Snooze-ic Club

The singer sounds like the most boring version in the Evan Dando multiverse
