A perfect album. Black Dog and Rock and Roll start it off rocking with everyone in top form. Plant has a great duet with Sandy Denny on the Battle of Evermore, but it's probably my least favorite song on the album. Not that it's bad - as I said, it's a perfect album. Stairway to Heaven is a perfect song, start to finish. Any time I hear it, I have to listen all the way through. The opening riff (which sounds nothing like Spirit's Taurus), the verses as the song builds and builds, that guitar solo - one of the greatest ever - and the powerful ending. Yes, it's overplayed, but for good reason. Misty Mountain Hop - another great rocker, with awesome harmonies. Four Sticks has a great unusual riff and time signature, with amazing drumming. RIP Bonzo. Going to California calms things down...great guitar and mandolin parts and fantastic vocals from Robert Plant (like all of the album). Finally, When the Levee Breaks: possibly the greatest opening drum line of any song ever, followed by a massively cool riff and bass line, harmonica, slide guitar, and moaning wails. Bottom line - this is one of the greatest bands of all time at their peak. Can I score it higher than 5?
Like swallowing a deep zen pill, takes you to a very good place. Love the integration of harmonica and mandolin to complement the other sounds. Bonham my favourite drummer.
What can I say about this one that hasn't already been said? It is a legendary album that absolutely deserves that status.
Really great when in the soft spots. The big songs are of course good, but I actually enjoyed Going to California most.

14th March 2022 Listened throughout the day while working from home, went to see the godfather in East Dulwich with Jen and Adam. Was really struck by the drumming when listening this time around. But what can you say? It’s Led Zeppelin IV.

Look this is one of those albums that a lot of people, especially certain types of people, call ‘the greatest of all time’. And they’re not necessarily wrong. Stairway to Heaven is one of, if not THE greatest rock song ever recorded. AND ITS THE WORST TRACK ON THE ALBUM HANDS DOWN. Going to California is the best one don't @ me

Everyone needs to listen to the entire zeppelin collection
Not quite as coherent as III, but it makes up for it in the heavenly heights the songs hit.
Best Song: Stairway to Heaven. For a song so famous, it still delivers. Maybe because it isn't as overplayed on the radio as other similar mega-songs. Worst Song: Four Sticks. Not bad, just boring. Overall: Hard to listen naively given how ubiquitous this album is, but even under that weight it feels monumental.
This is another one that needs half star ratings. I'm gonna give it 5 stars because it's chock full of iconic memorable melodies and arrangements. But some of the vocals are so screechy it makes my ears bleed.

I feel weird writing about this one. One of the most important albums to my awkward tween and early teen self, and still one of my favorites. I don't care how often I hear it, Stairway still moves me.

Oh yeah, this is badass - liked it a whole lot more than III. Most of these tracks feel iconic rather than generic. Fave track - "Misty Mountain Hop" - I'm pretty sure there's a Linda Perry cover of that song that kicks ass...

Any album that has Stairway To Heaven on it has to get 5 stars by default, but Led Zeppelin is 42 minutes of gold. Something new to find on every listen still.
The only Led Zeppelin album I've ever listened to (and owned). Good album, too! Pretty simple 5 stars for me, even though some of the weird timings and uneven performance make it seem less great than it actually is. Everyone should listen to this album at some point.

Led Zeppelin's 4th (1971) and the most successful album which has got a lot of awards. The 1'st position in the top "Classic rock - 100 greatest British rock albums ever" (april 2006) and a lot LOT more... "Stairway to Heaven" still is the most played song on various american radio stations, and still one of the best rock ballads ever!

I can’t add much hear. Again- listening to Zeppelin walks the fine line between listening to a parody band and listening to the greatest rock and roll band of all time. This one is chock full of than all the others I guess.
Led Zeppelin is a great band, though I don't listen to them often because they're a little bit too classic rock for me. 8/10.

i liked this! some songs were too long but i liked the quieter prettier parts that felt less like traditional led zeppelin
A great album with some top tracks including the classic Stairway to Heaven.
There has been no shortage of people who have tried and failed to replicate what this band has accomplished. Physical Graffiti shows the breadth of Zeppelin’s talent—and although some of the nostalgia has been lost to me over the years, there will always be plenty of new fans to discover what there is to appreciate.

Good album. Rock and Roll, Misty Mountain Hop, and When the Levee breaks are all highlights for me. John Bonham is one of my all-time favorite drummers. Love listening to him play.
Another album I had heard in pieces over the years, but never in one sitting. I can understand the adoration of this band and album, and again, it's hard to listen to without the obvious inspiration/appropriation of black music. Jones's drumming shines, Plant's lyrics and vocals are on point, Page's licks are smooth, and Bonham's bass fills out the Zeppelin sound in a defining way.
Better than I remembered it being, not the stonewall five out of five it typically gets.
I think this is a great LZ album and a great rock album. However it's just not my type of rock. I find it very "white people doing Black people music but not as good" like this is blues rock for a new audience. I know I know. Still, the most enjoyable LZ I've heard so far!
It's got the lot. Absolute belters, decent bluesy songs, mediocre foksy stuff and shite ballads.
I loved the album so much, for me it was a great start of hearing other albums and artists. The vibe is so Beatles coded ( I love the Beatles so I needed songs and albums like that)

Black Dog and Rock and Roll is a powerful 1 2 punch. Pure rock music. Battle of evermore has not aged well or maybe was always bad. Shitty mandolin. Zeppelin without drums is much worse. Stairway. Flutes or melotron at the beginning? Out of tune? Misty Mountain Hop has such a terrible verse section. Perhaps it’s redeeming quality is that it makes you so excited to listen to the rest of the song which is very good. Highlights are baby baby baby do you like it and I really don’t know oh oh oh oh oh. Robert Plant special. Going to California is another Robert plant special and not as shitty of mandolin. Would not have been made better with drums as battle would have, but still a weak track. Bridge kind of sucks. If it came out today I would still like it but I wouldn’t like battle. When the Levee breaks is good but is playing the blues, so bad. This is why I don’t really get it when people say JPJ was a great bass player. Same to page. What are we doing here? Great drum beat and just not tight at all. The bass goes in the turnaround though. Great song overall of course. 15/20
Idag har jag lärt mig att man inte ska ha för höga förväntningar när man lyssnar på ett album. Jag gillar StH och GtC så mycket att jag blev besviken på de andra låtarna. Sedan var jag nog inte på humör för rockiga låtar som dessa då jag precis hade vaknat.
Starts off really great, then starts to lose you in the second half. Still, you can’t ignore the highs of this album. The performances are great (Plant is especially entertaining), and it’s full of great lyrical imagery and musical moments.
As with every Led Zep album, I greatly enjoy the rock songs and could live without the acoustic tracks. The heavier songs on this are extremely good though. Proper generational stuff. Best: Misty Mountain Hop Worst: Going to California
While I'm not the world's biggest Zeppelin fan, this is undeniably a good album. Eight great songs, no filler, no skips. (Minus one star because Zep have historically 'borrowed' a lot from relatively unknown black musicians who don't usually see any royalties)

I know how good a Zepplin album can be. I’ve giving 2 a 5 star review and 1 is definitely my favourite, so the bar for what I’ve listened to is rather high. With that context out of the way this left me a little mixed. From the opening of Black Dog to Stairway to Heaven I think it’s perfect. Then the album loses me a little until the closer, When the Levee Breaks. The three tracks in between aren’t bad, they just don’t do much for me. A great 4 stars
Black Dog is just a brilliant cathartic sing along song. Even I, a woman limited patience for guitar noodling, can get behind that solo. I actually really enjoyed all of this though. Which was a bit of a surprise as I have been a little luke warm on the two previous Led Zeppelin albums that have come up. Whether it was the sunny weather, or this just really is the best Led Zeppelin album I don't know, but this deserves a: 4/5
Yea this has got to be the best LZ album but it's still just a four star album for me. Most of these songs are really great but "Misty Mountain Hop" I find to be pretty annoying unfortunately. It's not enough to ruin the album or anything. Overall I just don't have any personal connection to this band the way others seem to. Favorite track: Stairway to Heaven

The quintessential hard rock album from the quintessential hard rock band. What’s not to like. Yeah you can get into culture appropriation etc I guess. Influence etc. Like it, own it but find myself saying every Zep album, just don’t quiet love them. Don’t know why just don’t, just not that last 2% into favs. Classic album never less. 4.5 Star

I'm not the biggest Led Zeppelin fan but this is a great album. My favorites on this are Misty Mountain Hop, When the Levee Breaks. As a jazz fan the irony of this is hilarious but Stairway to Heaven feels too long.
Accidentally listened on shuffle. Great album. I stopped working for a bit just to listen. Alright. Better than most of what we listen to.

I’m slightly inclined to call this overrated simply because I haven’t spent much time listening to Led Zeppelin in my life but I will concede that this is an amazing album. Not an all timer for me but I get why it would be for some. Clearly a band with incredible talent.
I probably listened to this record twice a day for months when I first got it. As a teen LOTR nerd I was occasionally annoyed by all the vague LOTR references in the lyrics that didn’t make any sense, but that didn't matter much to me compared with the music. At this point Robert Plant gets a bit on my nerves. Oooh-ooh yeah. Aaaaah-aaaaaaaaaah. But the rest of it is still pretty great: the bass, the drums, the guitar. “The Battle of Evermore” is the standout track for me, partly for the mandolin but mostly because Sandy Denny is singing on it. However, “Stairway to Heaven” is one of those songs that I have heard too many times at this point, so I hereby confess that I skipped it. Ask me in another 10 years if I've listened to it again yet.

Pretty much as good as hard/blues rock could get in the 70's. The bands playing is top notch and the slower songs are mixed well into the album. Probably the best Zeppelin album. 4/5 Will listen again

Easily Led Zeppelin's best album! Going to California is arguably their best song other than Stairway to Heaven, and the fact that they're both on the same album is insane. There's a song for everyone on this album; this is too good. 4.5-5

Well, another canonical album for it's genre before I'm even 10% of the way through the list. I'll get to the album in a sentence or two, but either I underestimated how loaded with definitive albums the generator is, or I've just been way too frontloaded. In my first 100 albums I've had Paranoid, Abbey Road, Songs in the Key of Life, Lady Soul, Revolver, and now Led Zeppelin IV. That's like 5 out of the top 20 rated albums, and I've gotten nothing from the bottom 20. I know I'm still a long way to completing the list, but still I can't help but feel like right now I'm sailing on smooth seas before a storm of uninteresting filler albums come in. Rant out of the way, LZIV is great. Like really great. It's arguably the best hard rock album ever. That being said, it may have caught me on a bad day, but I couldn't lose myself in it like with my top scorers, hence the one docked point. Something about the overplayed nature of it and the dissonance between the hard rock bangers and the mellow acoustic songs. Still a must listen though.

I mean, one of the classics. Shows most of the highlights of Zep with almost none of their creepiness or drudgery. Not my favorite Zep, but unarguable if it’s someone else’s.
Not heard this one in decades. The hits get played everywhere, so it was nice to reconnect with songs like Misty Mountain Hop, Four Sticks and When the Levee Breaks.
Stairway to Heaven was my brother Robert's prom theme. 🙂

Led Zep are a band I have never really 'got' the way many do. I like some of their stuff, others just kind of wash by, but there's no doubt that when they are on it, they are fucking on it!

Musically so amazing: the epic riffs, the thunderous drumming, the willingness to go baroque and for broke. I mean, it's great. But the lyrics so often suck--please stop with the Nordic LOTR medievalisms--that I want to just turn the record off. Still, 'When the Levee Breaks' is one of the greatest rock songs ever.
I have not really listened to Led Zeppelin before but this has convinced me to delve into their discography! The only song I didn't like was Black Dog, but I love the rest.

Just because it has The Song on it, it was fun to listen to. The other tracks don't seem to be particularly remarkable from a contemporary perspective.
There are Led Zeppelin songs that I enjoy more on other albums, but this album, in my opinion, is the most consistent and solid album that Led Zeppelin ever released. While it drags on songs like "The Battle of Evermore", "Four Sticks", "Going to California" and "When the Levee Breaks" goes on for far too long, it still has 5.75 certified all time bangers.
This is a solid album. While listening I felt it was raw, heavy, and sometimes surprisingly sad and melancholic, mixed with strong rhythmic drive and beautiful melodic moments. It has that classic Zep power but also shows a more emotional and atmospheric side. The band sounds massive and confident throughout. The riffs hit hard, the grooves are tight, and there are some truly epic, larger-than-life moments. At times it feels a little exaggerated and over-the-top (which is very Led Zeppelin), but it still works well. Overall, Led Zeppelin IV delivers exactly what you want from them — powerful rock with dynamics, melody, and attitude. Not my absolute favorite of theirs, but definitely a strong and essential record.

This is the softer and more commercial side to Led Zeppelin, I can see it being on a must-listen list because it's an easy default for the general public, Stairway to Heaven aside. The production is really solid, the use of stereo is beautiful. That being said, it's not MY favorite LedZep effort, I think other artists mastered the solid-but-soft rock side, that honestly they're pulling off pretty well here. 1971? So chill and rugged at the same time, what flow. I still prefer these dirty proggy riffs with screechy vocals for harder energy tracks, but there's a lot of classics here anyway. A fun record to own, but not a must. 4.1/5
i like each song separately and the whole album in general but it is not a masterpiece for me. two of the classics, black dog and stairway to heaven are here, i also love them but they are not my favorite led zeppelin songs.

I was introduced to Led Zeppelin through this album, about 30 years ago. It's always been my favourite album of theirs.

Black Dog - I've never heard this before, but it was very familiar... because the long-running Reeves & Mortimer quiz show Shooting Stars uses bits from this when introducing the scoremaster. Strange to have heard something hundreds of times over the years while having no idea where it originated from! Rock and Roll - Just a nice simple rock and roll song; fine to listen to but leaves no lasting impression, even mere minutes after listening to it. The Battle of Evermore - and so, the filk part of the record begins. This could have been quite epic, but they chose to go very simple and stripped back with the arrangement - which I guess is period appropriate, but I'd be interested to hear what this would be like with a couple of wailing electric guitars added in. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zep's magnum opus, and indeed one of the greatest tracks ever recorded. Can't really say anything about it that's not been said before, so will just highly recommend Jeroen Offerman's recording of it (search YouTube for Stairway at St Paul's"), where he sings the whole thing backwards and reverses the video to turn it back the right way round. Misty Mountain Hop - musically really interesting - I like the "chanting" bit where each note is the same length and the notes don't quite fit into the chords. Four Sticks - argh, they've got a bit prog here for the last of the filky section, the rhythm is all strange and truncated; if the previous song was a song a hobbit would compose, this is a song an orc would compose. Going to California - very pretty. When the Levee Breaks - wailing and wahing all over the place, very nice.
Where do I even BEGIN with this one. Oh my GOD. Stairway to Heaven is one of the songs on this album and it quite possibly is the greatest rock song in existence. I know it gets overused alot and played out as jokes for Guitar Centers but SWtH is a masterpiece in every meaning of the word. Jimmy Page's solo is immaculate, despite kicking in very late, and is for sure one of the blueprints for modern rock.

Led Zeppelin were a band I listened to a fair bit in the 80’s and 90’s. Still do occasionally, but alas not as often these days. I was always amused that Stairway to Heaven used to top Capital Radios 500 most popular songs pretty much year-on-year in the mid-80’s despite never having been released as a single. The joys of a public vote! Stairway to Heaven was also on of our go-to jukebox tracks - especially if someone in the pub had pissed us off as we’d just load it up on repeat and leave them to it. But I digress. This album is a really good and has some great tracks on it. Very pleased to have it turn up on this list and for the excuse to give it another spin.

This was really cool. I recognized a lot of the songs not knowing they were Led Zeppelin. The sleeper hit was Going to California which I thought was a nice contrast compared to the rest of the album which was heavier rock.

Love the 2 opening songs, “Black Dog” and “Rock and Roll.” I no longer care for “Stairway to Heaven” or the “Battle of Evermore.” “When the Levee Breaks” still holds up for me and “Four Sticks” has grown on me over the years. All in all, not surprised it’s on the best of list. I prefer rocking Led Zeppelin to their quieter fare Even the songs I no longer enjoy are done well.
It’s a great album. I don’t love every track so it’s not a 5 for me, which i know is a crime to say considering how many people love it. Still great though.
I think this is not really their best work, but that closer is all time. 3 + 1 for meeting notability guidelines.

Okey my first idea of this album is what a classical sounds. Ofcorse i didnt listen any classical rock music so i am newly listner but two songs in the album is amazing. First is stairway to heaven and albums last song when levee breaks amazing i love it

An air guitar classic
What we have here is one of the great albums in rock. All eight tracks are good, and then there are songs like Stairway to Heaven and When the Levee Breaks that are outright brilliant. The only reason it’s not a 5 is because hard rock like this isn’t necessarily by bread and butter, and because lyrics at points feel lacking in depth.
Black Dog, Rock and Roll, and Stairway to Heaven are such well-known classics that it's not really hard to see why this album is so beloved. Even outside of those, there are some really good songs here. Misty Mountain Hop and When the Levee Breaks are both fantastic as well. Absolutely an album worth listening to.
I really did not like The Battle of Evermore, other than that it was a pretty damn near perfect album. The instrumentals are otherworldly and the vocals enhance it all the way through. Just can’t give it 5 stars because I shouldn’t dislike a specific song that much from a 5-star album.
Yeah, this is funky and fun as always. I will probably never listen to this again and have already forgotten it but it probably made me look cool as I rolled up to the toll booth this morning, so there's that.
This might be LZ's most legendary album. One of my favorite aspects of LZ continues to be how satisfying the drum/string parts intertwine to create satisfying syncopation and evoke polyrhythmic feeling, like in Black Dog or Misty Mountain top. the Battle of Evermore and Going to California were also highlights for me
How to rate this? Although I've never owned the album, I'm plenty familiar with most (all?) of the tunes esp. on side 1. However, I've only just learned/realized that the singer duetting with Plant on 'Evermore' is the late, great Sandy Denny, who I like quite a bit, esp. from her work with Fairport Convention (speaking of whom: I hope we get one of their albums). And, unlike tracks 1, 2, and 4 (which have been played to death on the radio, over the past 55 years), I've only occasionally heard 'Evermore' - so, for that reason, and because of Sandy Denny, and the mandolin on it, too, it's easier to appreciate that one. The biggest obstacle to me liking LZ, always, has been Robert Plant's voice. I've made my peace with it (more or less), but I still don't love it. And then, deep down, there are still some vestiges of my initial/early dislike, due not only to Plant's voice, but also to hearing LZ on the radio so much, plus maybe some sort of tribal reaction against the (very white and male) tribe of people in middle and high school (and "classic rock" dj's) who were LZ fans (i.e., thinking, subconsciously, that if *they* like it, it's probably not for me). Ok, anyway, to rate this: extra points for mandolins, and Tolkien (?) references, and Sandy Denny. Deductions for Plant's voice, and over-exposure. And -- trying to set aside my longstanding aversion (which I've mostly already discarded) -- 4 stars seems right. Favorite tracks are Evermore, Misty Mountain, and Going to California (note that Evermore and California both feature mandolin). And the last track, Levee, is good, too. So, yeah, a solid 4 stars. Would I have given it 5 stars, if I'd never heard it before? Who can say?! (But I'd still have had to grapple with Plant's singing. ;) )
As discussed in the chat, I like Zeppelin a lot more than I realized before starting this list. That said, this album didn't hit as hard as III did for me. Battle of Evermore was a bit of a bore and I think the novelty of Stairway to Heaven is just so far gone at this point that its appeal isn't as great as it could be. Black Dog, Rock and Roll, and Misty Mountain Hop are all jams tho.
An impact that is lessened by the release of Paranoid, but a certainly solid rock album worth listening through

There’s a good argument to be made that 1971 was the best year for music since the invention of the gramophone. This album is a prime example of a good album being more than the sum of its parts. It’s not perfect by any means - Stairway to Heaven plods along for just a bit too long and let’s face it, however good John Bonham’s drumming is, When The Levee Breaks is still a bunch of white guys playing delta blues. However the rest of the album more than makes up for these petty cavils, with a mix of stomping rock’n’roll and quieter numbers, with a bit of Tolkien-esque elves and goblins folderol prog thrown in for good measure. Speaking of which, The Battle of Evermore is notable for featuring the great Sandy Denny and it’s a shame that she didn’t get to do more with the band as her vocals are a perfect complement for Robert Plant’s.
Delightful. I’ve been for long waiting for a classic masterpiece to get recommended to my feed.

Initially I had to get used to the sound, especially the voice of Robert Plant, it's.. sharp. So I focused on the drums more. Also, the last few songs were more interesting and for the time probably quite revolutionary. I can see where Angine de Poitrine got some inspiration. And of course.. Stairway to Heaven. I've heard it a 1001 times now. Really listened. It's a gem ok. Very familiar. But a gem.

Very energetic and energizing. Must have been mind-blowing to listen when it first came out. The album doesn't have a lot of pacing or sequencing, though - it's more a selection of individual songs, each of them strong on their own merits. Their ability to compose an album with a coherent arc and meaning (instead of just songs) hasn't fully emerged.
Good album, really enjoyed it. Zeppelin is always good time and this hit the spot.
This is honestly the Zeppelin album that I gravitate to the least. When the Levee Breaks is a monster, Misty Mountain Hop is great, and Rock and Roll is good too. But, sorry, I'm not in love with Stairway to Heaven. The Battle of Evermore is a drag. Going to California is weaker. I'd take Four Sticks. Black Dog I get. But this is too often the pantheon of Zeppelin when in reality it should be II. I gave I a 4 star rating. I can't see giving this a 3 necessarily, but if I never put this on again, I'm not sure I'd feel lost without it.

Pretty good but like wayyyyy overhyped by sentimental boomers remembering how they probably got head while listening to this album or something. Physical Graffiti clears this album so easy.
Everyone knows Led Zeppelin IV. It's a very, very good album, but to be honest it's not really there on the list of my favourite albums.

Apparently this was the Led Zeppelin album I was waiting for. I really enjoyed this. Even though there was nothing new here for me, having heard all of these songs on WBCN during my younger years, I had never listened to the full album. Definitely enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected. This makes me happy because now I can tell my friend who is a rabid LZ fan that I agree, she's not completely bonkers.

I had no idea just how many hits came off of this album. I've always appreciated Led Zeppelin, but it just seemed like hit after hit after hit kept coming up in queue. I really enjoyed this as a workday jam album and was able to add some songs to my Liked Songs list that were apparently missing (ex: Misty Mountain Hop). Definitely enjoyed listening to it a few times over and would definitely listen to it again in the future. Not a 5⭐ album, but certainly up there in the rankings--like a 4/4.5?

Undeniably a great album, but I find the mixing to be both muddled and maximalist to the point where it's hard to parse out all the parts. Obviously there's breathing room on the quieter songs, but I wasn't able to step into the rockers as easily as I wanted to. But also this album changed my life where I heard it as a 13 year old, so it gets a 4.
This is the Led Zeppliniest Led Zeppelin album ever! It has Stariway to Heaven! It has the most Bonzo drumming! It has all the guitars! It has Robert Plant moaning, groaning, and just sleezing all over this record! It is so mystical, it doesn't even have an album title! Zeppelin can actually be a bit of a chore for me sometimes, but this album is actually pretty good. It is remarkable how every single song on this record was on regular rotation in my city's classic rock station.
One of those rock classics that I respect a lot but that I rarely want to listen to. Probably their most iconic album, but not necessarily my favorite one.

Immediately the soundstage is so different to modern stuff. Pre “wall of sound”. Such iconic songs. And such a breadth of songwriting. Black dog to battle of evermore to stairway to heaven is huge range in a single album. Harmonica, mandolin, synth… so surprised by all the different influences

This for sure is my favorite Zeppelin project. The caveat is that im not huge on them to begin with. Im not against them like some other bands but I dont choose to listen to them almost ever. The other thing is there are some all time songs on here that I dont care for. Stairway is more of a meme before memes existed than a song to me. Its just the thing you shout at a local band to hear a worse version to extend a show. The song I guess is fine but the reputation is annoying. And black dog has a section of guitar that is out of synch and it drives me nuts every single time I hear it. I loose all good will I have for an admittedly cool guitar part when it comes up. Personally the songs I like are the lower key ones. Give me rock and roll, misty mountain hop, or going to California any day over the two biggest songs. But generally i like the bluesy rock that zep does here. It is nice. Just not my bag in most cases. Im surprised I was as into it as I was. Everything else ive heard goes in one ear and out the other without much resistance. But im happy to be happy with anything they put out cause I almost thought I just didnt like them or at least didnt care.

Black dog también la conocía, rock and roll me sonaba, las demás la verdad que ni idea pero me han gustado. There's something about Led Zeppelin that doesn't quite hit me. Very good album musically, I'm just not blown away the vocals which are a bit jarring on The Battle of Evermore. Black Dog, Rock and Roll, Stairway to Heaven and When the Levee Breaks are all great, though. 3.5/5.

Damn I love Zeppelin. I was little surprised to see that my 2 favourite songs were amongst the bottom 3 in listens. The only song I wouldn't say is great on this album is Four Sticks. The rest of the album is made up of all time classics of rock.

2/3. These songs are undeniable, whether that’s through great songwriting or sheer cultural force (I think it’s mostly the first one though). Some amazing riffs throughout, balance in the track listing (they know how to pace an album), and while I’m not the biggest fan of Plant’s vocals, I still enjoy them and think they’re integral to this album.
Wow I know every song. Not the biggest fan of Zeppelin's white boy blues, but this is more than that. I've heard Stairway to Heaven enough times to last me a thousand lifetimes so I skipped it here.

Yes its like a 5 star album but I think 5 stars should be saved
So this one will always have a salty place in my heart. I bought this record used and it taught me a hard lesson. You should always pull the record out of the sleeve and look at it before paying for it. Anyways I bought it and brought it home and it the record was warped enough it wasn’t playable. So I read online that you can flatten it under some heavy books. This is not true for how bad this record was. So some people suggest putting it in the oven on the lowest temperature between two sheets of glass. Well this flattened it but it made the 3d waves 2D so it was still unplayable just flat. Now Callie gets to play with it until we eventually throw it out I guess. Other than the lesson this album has taught me. I do really enjoy the music on it. So many great tracks on this one. It would have been nice to spin it on the turntable once in a while. I won’t go out of my way to find a working copy of it. But if I see one someday for a reasonable price. You know I’m gonna get it.

Some absolute bangers all throughout that has encapsulated what it means to rock. Classics that have and will stand the test of time but falls one star short with some songs.
Loses a star for over-exposure. I feel there are deaf people who have heard this album too many times.
