Just the fucking best.

Can’t believe this isn’t a greatest hits album.

I once knew this guy who was whiny and soft and I didn’t like him and he loved the Smiths and now when I listen to the Smiths I can’t tell if I don’t like them because they remind me of him or if it’s because I just don’t like them but I think it’s because I just don’t like them because they too are whiny and soft.

Amazing album except Stray Cat Blues lyrics are fucked up

Can’t believe this isn’t a greatest hits album.

I know its cool to like Steely Dan now but my ears aren’t agreeing.

Would give it a 6 if I could.

Would have been a 5 if he wasn’t a 0 of a person.

At first I thought this was brutal to listen to but then I got pulled in and it’s actually kinda brilliant and unlike anything else I’ve heard. It’s deceptively simple - catches you with lines that are moving and true. And I’m happy the tv got fixed.

I’ve always thought ‘oh cool, dire straits is playing’ in a well alright, kinda unremarkable way but this album raised my awareness beyond good easy listenen’ to here’s a band I fucking respect with some good ol artistry, guts and ambition. Album starts off banger after banger and you know knopfler could keep throwing those catchy guitar licks at ya all day but then, what’s this, he throws some curve balls at ya and settles into something more subdued, weird and yearning. Even his catchy single like MTV make you earn the party with an extended unconventional ambient opening. Some may say incohesive album but those people are boring - I say ambitious, cool, surprisingly slightly left-of-center album. The dudes go for it. Good on ya Knopfler and co.

Bad dude but man this album brings it.

Will revisit the next time I’m on a lot of drugs and bet my score will be higher.

Rad in the beginning but got a little bored.

Sometimes I feel like I want to give it a 1 and sometimes I feel like I want to give it a 5. So I guess 3? I think I’ll need time to see if I want to keep revisiting. Brought back a happy Simpson’s memory though.

This type of music is right in my wheelhouse and I was still bored.

I know it deserves higher but man I just really don’t like Steely Dan.

Not easy to sound so effortless. Love this band.

Respect the skill and provocation. But didn’t work on me like it once did. The audacity and bluster wears thin and I just don’t want to live in that headspace.

I put this on while cleaning the house and man did I zone in. Very productive album.

I mean I appreciate they’re pushing boundaries and the music is super inventive but it feels smug and indulgent and when it finally ended I have to admit I just felt relief.

Never really liked Sonic Youth but it clicked for me on this album. I’m in.

Doesn’t feel at the same level as the rest of the list but it was relaxing and I liked it.

I know she’s a legend but her voice is always so perfect and formal I lose any emotion in it.

This is an amazing album to run to. Was loving it. Would have given it a 5 except for The Party song which really blew it.

Show biz kids was a cool song

If you ever need a reminder that pitchfork has overly cerebral, miss-the-forest-through-the-trees hipster dumbass critics, just refresh on the 6.9/10 review they gave this perfect gift of a soul-wrenching album a music legend gave the world on the eve of his death. Love this album and Johnny Cash very much.

Super adventurous album.

Feelin’ Alright? is a rad song but Feelin’ Alright? does not a great album make.

Staying at Chelsea Hotel and got Patti Smith which was a cool coincidence. And then I pushed play when I left the lobby and started my run. The album ended exactly when I walked back through the door back into the lobby. Good omen and great album!

Love enjoy yourself song

I can tell I’m going to listen to this album 1000 more times now that I know this album exists.

I haven’t listened to James Taylor in a long time because I thought I was too cool now but turns out I’m not cool after all - still kinda like it.

One of the best things the world has to offer. Can never get enough of this album or Keith Jarrett.

For years I’ve listened to Brian Eno and played this music at airports and it’s made traveling so much better. Love this album a lot.
