As an 80's kid, I was (and still am) into Husker Du, The Replacements, REM, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Smiths, etc. This album was "meh" to me then, and still is today. Elevator music.

Misty Mountain Hop is an overlooked gem.

Foundational

THIS is prime ZZ Top. LaGrange, Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers, Jesus Just Left Chicago, Waiting on the Bus --- all prime slabs of Texas Power Blues/Boogie.

Crappy mix, but a solid metal album.

Rambling Rose is a scorcher, but overall this is more of a "you had to be there/snapshot in history" type of release. Chaotic, with pure punk energy. Not an easy listen.

One of the best live albums ever. The remaster with the full Tommy included is the way to go. It's pure rock fury. "A Quick One" is a masterpiece.

She Bangs the Drum is an absolute scorcher. Rest of the album is full of bangers...a classic.

The opener is worth 5 stars by itself, but the rest of the album drags this down to a 3. Cannot hold a candle to "Moondance"

A reviewer back in 2023 said, "If Coldplay were a spice they'd be flour." I'm not sure I can improve on that.

Never understood the popularity of this band. I could probably get by with never having to hear another Aerosmith song again. Mediocre at best.

Get "Live at Leeds" or "Live at the Isle of Wight Festival" to truly experience the power of this band. Otherwise, this one is meh.

An old school country classic - look beyond Hee Haw and check out the number of #1 hits Buck had prior to joining the show. Having an ace backup band, including the legendary Don Rich, doesn't hurt at all!
