Don't do crack, kids. Nightmare/5
The Libertines seem to have mastered mediocre recreation of a sound made by thousands of better bands 10 or 20 years earlier than them. If this album came out in the 70s, then it might actually be kind of good in comparison. As it stands, it is truly unimpressive and absolutely does not deserve a spot on this list.
Ahh was this unfortunate. Not only was it monotone and garage bandy but also consisted of horrible vocals and people who thought they were better than they really are. Couldn’t really tell you one good thing about this. Sick and tired of these albums!
Why? Sounds like the 70s punk bands but worse and 30 years later
Omg shut up. Ive rarely been this annoyed by a singer. And wow didnt know it was possible to sound so bad on a harmonica.
Awful. Don’t need to revisit.
nah
boring, self-serving, jangly, forgettable
Overrated shit for morons in trilbies. Like Oasis, but with even greater diminishing returns.
If I wanted to listen to Franz Ferdinand I would have popped on one of their albums.
I almost couldn’t finish this - which is weird, normally I like a bit of indie rock (and I love the Arctic Monkeys - which people are compare to The Libertines? But I couldn’t disagree more!! They are nothing alike!) Maybe I’m just having an irritable day, but I thought this was equal parts annoying and boring. First and last listen for the libertines
skipped halfway thru sorry ! not gagging
Pete Doherty was (is?) a colossal dickhead, and I have enormous sympathy with addicts, but the man has always been a tosser of the highest order even when sober. The Libertines were shit when this came out and it hasn't aged any better, it's crap indie rock brought down to an even lower level by their inability to construct anything original, dynamic or refined. Fuck off with your 1/5 and don't bother me again.
DNF
Not a fan
Just meh…Nothing on this album stood out.
Is British stuff like 75% of this list?
Not a good retro punk sound or a pop/post punk sound
a throwback to a time when being a messy wastoid in tight clothes was proper replacement for a personality.
Trying to think of something to say about this album but aside from cock I'm struggling
I hear strong features of The Arctic Monkeys and hints of The Teardrop Explodes in a sea of dive-bar-hot-mess. Fair? Do I care? And why do the two band mates on the album cover look like they’re about to share a heroin needle?
This album sucks. “Let’s just play out of tune! None of us can sing, might as well moan whatever the song title is.” What an awful piece of shit this album was
Bad boring rock. Next.
Meh, underwhelming UK indie
I just really didn't wanna keep listening to this, so I guess 1 star.
No
Imo, this does for indie what Syd Barrett did for phychedelia... not much.
Not my kind of noise!
Can’t stand them now.
the libertines
Is all English indie rock this precious? 1 wilted flower out of 5 🥀
Non.
Another album came and left before I knew it was over. Completely unremarkable or memorable.
Automatic bias tells me this will be a 1 star, based on what I know of them. Yep...it's a 1. Listened to the album and heard nothing I liked
Generic garbage
I'm actually so happy that this is over soon Fock it 1
This is pretty lackluster stuff. Hard to get excited about it. From the bio it looks like they're barely excited to play with one another and it shows.
Pareceu-me um indie com alguma disposição para ser festivo.
The most fun I've ever had with a terrible album
Irritante stem heeft die Pete eigenlijk, verpest de hele plaat zo.
Wauw, dat ze die heroïne spuiters zoveel credits geven is beyond me.
Ye gods, but The Libertines were dreadful! Half Man Half Biscuit summed them up perfectly: "We've just been performing a guerrilla gig In the middle of another group's guerrilla gig Well surely that's the ultimate guerrilla gig But still they cried like girls"
Realmente aburrido. Can't Stand Me Now puede que haya sonado en algún momento de esos 2004, pero escuchando ahora le encuentro toda la razón al destino que quiso que en esos años ignorara a esta banda y su música.
I ALREADY RATED THIS YOU IDIOTS
Too British-poppy for me
This was not a good album. I do not need indie music let alone British Indie music.
Poor, nothing worth listening
I'm getting so bored with british music from this list. I cant find anything redeeming or interesting about this album. Its sooo boring. Its got like one halfway decent track that I probably wont listen to ever again. 1/5
Not hearing anything too compelling here. Feels apathetic all around. I remember a girl in my highschool being super into Pete Doherty. I have to wonder, if it wasn't for that demographic would this album be notable? No desire to listen to this again. 1
Ugh, Pete Doherty has got to be one of the all-time most revolting humans on the planet. I feel like I need 6 weeks in rehab just from looking at him. And he's a talentless hack to boot. I don't know much of his music, but I'm not hearing anything special here. I'm more well-acquainted with his train-wreck of a relationship with another disgusting human being, Kate Moss. They're both foul and they deserved each other. Weak sauce.
pity zero stars isn't available
