😬
Yeah nah this isn't it. I imagine this was produced the same way Clint Eastwood makes movies with as little takes as you need to make an album. There's a couple of songs I dug that I may come back to but as a whole this was a rough listen for me. Insane choice to say you need to listen to this album specifically. Is every Bowie album on here? There's at least 10 albums by him I could see being rightfully on this list. Did we really need more? Highlight: Boss of Me
wtf
This. Album. Blew. Not much to say other then that. Started off okay I guess, and just went downhill from there. Would've had a 2, but that last song just ruined everything. 1.25 Favorite Song: Dirty Boys Least Favorite: Heat
Gute Musik. Nicht für mich.
Not my favorite David Bowie. The album seems kind of tired for some reason and I can't really get into it. I'll continue enjoying his earlier works and probably avoid this one in the future.
This was awful. If it hadn't been David Bowie, it would be an easy 0 stars but it gets 1. Dull, dull, dull
Couldn’t finish, sorry. I just find Bowie so boring and this album was no different 😬😬
so bad and boring
I like Bowie but this album doesn't stick
I'm sorry I really don't like Bowie. Mumbling rambling nonsense over repetitive instrumentation.
This album made me hate Bowie. This was just annoying. I didn't finish it
Never could get into Bowie, another rough listen here.
In a nutshell: "adult contemporary art rock" I had flashbacks to Morrissey's solo albums and Berlin Trilogy era Bowie while listening to this. David's vocals on Dirty Boys had a Jim Morrison/Josh Homme flair to them; a song that could appear on a Peaky Blinders episode. The Next Day overall felt weak. Some reviews on here say he "lost his edge" for this one. Accurate. Overall 2/10
Depressing sound
Bowies a legend, respectfully not listening to newer albums from older rock/pop stars

Why do people listen to this?
What happened?
This was made as a nostalgia piece for someone who isn't me.
Sorry, not a big fan, unfortunately. Perhaps I need to spend more time with it?
Meh. I like a lot of David Bowie's music, but this probably shouldn't be on this list. From such a large body of work, there are much better albums. I haven't checked which other albums are to come, but I presume Ziggy Stardust will be there. Even Let's Dance. There must be way more than 1001 albums better than this. Voting 1/5 not because it's especially bad, but because I don't feel it belongs on the list.
Ughh more fucking Bowie
fuck db
As a huge Bowie fan, I feel very strange giving this a 1 star review. This is a very solid 3 star album, but there's absolutely no need for it to be on the list, and that's what I reserve my 1 star reviews for. That's just how it is, sorry Mr. Jones. There are many other fantastic Bowie albums to check out - I would hate for this to be someone's introduction to him!
Incredibly forgettable and I hated the vocals
Garbage
My God this was so dull. I was so excited for my first Bowie album on this list and it sucked. Very underwhelming. It had a few moments where I would think it was picking it up, but they were too short-lived to raise the score.
Nope. Somehow saddens me to rate this only 1 star, since it's still Bowie, but I don't have the patience for bad albums anymore. And this one is bad. Not a single enjoyable song between the first ten or even the slightest hint that this might change for the following ones, so I skipped them.

I’m beginning to wonder if I actually like David Bowie’s music….
F***in awful.
I think we all know someone who is a completist about a particular artist. They think that if there is a recording of Miles Davis or Bob Dylan or Phish or whomever singing in the shower at age 68 that everyone must hear it. It is clear that Robert Dimery is a completist when it comes to David Bowie. Now, there are worse artists to be obsessed with, but I am done with humoring this clear delusion. [Insert Meme of Robert Deniro saying, "Are you saying that David Bowie made some albums not worth listening to?" and the Joker replying, "I am. And I'm tired of pretending that there aren't" here]. There is a scene in the television show "Sports Night" where a character is trying to edit a baseball game down to its highlights and he gets too in the weeds and just can't cut anything. His version has five minutes of a pitcher pitching to a batter with no hits, and a coworker comes in and asks why he hasn't cut that and he replies that you have to see it because it allows you to appreciate the battle. Then the producer pops her head in and says, "Just give me the double off the wall, the homer in the fifth, and the error at third" and that is the end of it. In the spirit of that scene, the David Bowie albums that make the cut of 1001 albums you should hear before you die are Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and Low, He has a lot of great songs, but they are spread out over too many albums filled with too many not great songs to warrant any further inclusion on a list of this kind. And I am tired of pretending otherwise.
That felt like a chore.
Just not my vibe. I feel like I can only listen to his voice for so long in a row.
Ich mag David Bowie einfach nicht. Vor allem das Album klingt immer gleich.
Nothing special about this and wouldn't ever get my attention if I didn't otherwise know it was by Bowie.
Eh idk. I like some Bowie songs but these were kinda out there but in a dark boring way
New (old) Bowies sucks.
Not my type of music
Not sure why this one was included, honestly. So many better albums by bowie
Didn’t love, nothing really caught my attention. I was working so again, a bit distracted.
Messy.
Idk how to explain this but all these songs feel like something james corden would sing in cats, halfway through and Ive skipped multiple songs already, wasn't bowie supposed to be cool
still dont really like bowie
This album was so boring! I almost fell asleep listening and Roslyn actually did, haha. I have a lot of respect for someone who’s put out 20 studio albums and I really like a few earlier Bowie songs (Starman, Golden Years, Space Oddity) but this album was unremarkable and forgettable. Like Pearl Jam, I really tried to like David Bowie at one point in my life and it just didn’t work. Neil Young is another one in that category and I’m sure we’ll get one of his albums on the shuffle sometime soon. One star
Not good Really odd production. On where are now the volume shifted as his voice comes in and out. Other production choices are similarly baffling. Couldn't get through any single song.
Boring
not great
I put this off as much as I could. I am a certified Bowie hater. Sorry to this man.
Not my favorite David Bowie. Lackluster at best.
Feel bad giving Bowie 1 star, but I’ve just never been into him.
Can't hear that voice
Bowie had straight up lost the plot by this point. Had this been anyone else, it would not have made the cut for this list. Chalking this one up to cult of personality.
Ok…..
Idk, David Bowie's music is just so forgettable to me. Probably a bad take but it's so BORING
It was better than the last David Bowie album we got, I'll give it that. None of the screamy stuff. So that was a pleasant surprise, but in the end it's still David Bowie. 🤣 2-3/10
I found this bland and forgettable. I think I prefer Bowie when he's doing more cringeworthy stuff, because at least he's trying something new.
All in all a torturous experience with one random good song thrown in
Didn't care for it.
This is the worst Bowie album I’ve heard
Bon... je me suis vraiment mis dans des conditions où j'avais pas vu qui était l'artiste pour donner une note sincère à l'album.. et franchement c'est pas ouf. Rien à retenir. Bon c'est un 24 e album studio, ça peut pas tout être bien
Not my vibe. Didn’t like
Just can't get into Bowie
Fucking tired of Bowies CDs. Are you gonna fuckin recommend me all the fucking discography? Dude wasn't that good, for fucks sake
