Reviews (page 7 of 7)
Um. Ah. Ahem…
Not something I would sit a listen to.
All the same.. :/
Great as background music for a meditation session, not for listening
Another album where I have limited familiarity with the genre, enjoyed a few songs, but a whole album isn't a preferred listen for me.
1.4/not my vibe, ugh
I listened to the full 40 minute version on yt. It’s pretty hypnotic but there is literally no progression, the difference between 9 minutes in and 35 minutes in is nonexistent. I did not need to hear this before I died Honestly don’t blame anyone for skipping this review
Nope. 1/5
Nice enough but not sure it's for me. I listened on YouTube and the first time I really enjoyed the melody of one of the tracks, I checked which one it was and it had started playing something else. So.. not a great review really. I found it boring
Made me stressed Disliked All instrumental
Not my thing
Shit
no
No.
Spa music.
Spa music.
I dig the concept but woof haha I def feel like a shallow-ass westerner! 😂 Let's just say I'm not ready for this one. 99% grind. But I tried it! I'm not going to eat it twice but I ate the whole dish! It's inside me, and maybe it'll jangle around inside me and work some magic.
Meditation music..?
Both versions are boring. I hear this shit when I head down to the restaurant to pick up a chicken vindaloo. Hard pass.
Interesting sounds, but not interesting music.
Horribke
Couldn’t get into it.
Apparently the spotify version is not the right one, but that is what I listened to. I kind of hated it. Maybe whatever I'm supposed to listen to is better I guess
Not for me!
Meh
I’m sure the musicians involved are at the top of their craft playing the most beautiful Indian music ever created, but this was most certainly not for me. I tried listening intently several times to try and get lost in the vibes and ended up feeling like I was going crazy. Having said that, the santoor seems like it would be a fun instrument to fart around on/master.
I swear I’ve heard this before in my local patchouli-scented emporium. Or maybe it was a yoga studio? I can’t listen to this music. New age harps and sitars make me unspeakably angry.
Pretty chill. Not for me.
just turrible ernie
I don't know if many people will agree with me on this (this album has a review average of less than a 3 so they might) but i am gonna be clear, Call of the Valley sucks. This was just one of those albums where my opinion of it deteriorated over time. At first, i thought this album sounded interesting but then it just kept going and going without much variation or good songs and i my opinion of this album started to get more and more sour. I think if just one of the songs released as a single, then i my original opinion would have stayed but as it stands, This is an album that i can understand it's place on the list but that still doesn't make it a good album in the slightest. Best Song: Dhun-Mishra Kirwani Worst Song: Bageshwari
Bad
Old school crank call.
I don't care if the Beatles liked this, I don't.
Lift muzak.
Never Trust a Hippy. Bloody awful racket. Curry that goat.
Ahh now. A day in the life of a shepherd
no
Why?
I appreciate this for what it is - I’m sure a lot of people really enjoy this album - but I couldn’t see myself listening to this outside of a massage spa.

terrible
Such a peaceful album with its strings and flutes. It made me wonder what the spiritual practice behind the album was. Overall, it's not a useful album for me personally, but pleasant enough way to while away the time!
Noooppe

Couldn’t get into it.
yeah... not for me.
I emerged from my yurt, which was located on a mountain outcrop. As I looked over the mist-covered mountain valley, my hot, naked body steamed in the cool morning air. I was just coming down from the vision quest peyote I had taken the night before. I felt a bit sheepish. Amazed, I saw myself. I said to my own self “self” I said, “you are ewe”. This album played from inside the yurt and the world made sense.
HORRIBLE
Not my bag
Une journée dans la vie d'un berger indien. Belle utilisation de la flûte, on se croit vraiment en nature. C'est zen sur un criss de temps.
Not for me
Denk steeds: Zou wel eens iets heel anders willen horen maar dan krijgen we dit en dan verlang ik weer naar gitaren in plaats van pleemuziek.
Wat een gezwever zeg...
couldn't finish
Not my cup of tea. I feel I'm in a game in a desert stage I don't like
Not good.
Listened Before? N Oh heck. Another foreign mostly instrumental album with 9+ minute songs. Look, I'm sure its a great composition but it's not my thing. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: Ode to the Sun God
so boring
Alveg drep.
En löydä käyttöä. Äänimaailmaan sisäänrakennettu ohuus ei auta.
This is cheeseballs.
Did not Finish - I tried listening while reading and it was fine at first, but the 100 String Santoor just over-powered my concentration and demanded I listen everytime it kicked in. Might be good to meditate to but I've never tried to even without this so who knows?
Too new-agey
Ohh no.. waste of time.. again
Could not make it through it
Boring
What a racket!
pagan imo
🤷🏼♂️
Massage and yoga music.
i swear im not racist lmao, this just isnt my type of music
Probably good instrumental music, but outside of a yoga studio it's hard to listen to
It’s folk music with a bird soundtrack. Wild.
I feel like in Diablo 2 but in the worst way possible...
Music OK if I'm sitting on a massage table or in yoga class. Don't find interesting otherwise.
LOL, I think all the spotify plays on this album came from the 1001 album generator! I understand this was really important to a lot of people but I couldn't make it very far.
This was grating and unenjoyable. If you're into boring instrumentals, this is for you.
Call of the Valley was made to create an album of classical indian music shaped in a form to appeal to a western audience. It was a commercial, not an artistic success. While far better classical indian music exists, it was chosen because of the easier listening experience, making it an awful choice.
This sounds like something that some hippie type convinces themselves that they like because it's from a non-western country. It's painfully boring. There are a few nice moments I guess, but they are few are far between and cannot make up for the endurance marathon that this album is.
👎🏻
Less of this and more of anything else!

ding-ding-ding
To my Western mind, this was authentic Indian music. Apparently, to Indians, it's half way to Western music, Western scales, etc. I suppose it's fair to say this is the musical equivalent of the "Chinese" fortune cookie. Culturally, this is the Indian musical equivalent of "Live, Love, Laugh" spraypainted on some fake barn wood and hung in your bathroom. Skill-wise it sounds lovely. I don't care about any of the baggage, if I liked it, I'd like it, and that's fine. I just wasn't really into it. Maybe too psychedelic, maybe too foreign, maybe too slow, I dunno. I just wouldn't ever choose to play it again. I'm going to rate it 1-star, despite trying to save that for truly unlistenable garbage, which I now have no way to separate it from. But seeing other things I've rated 2-stars that I enjoyed far more, it seems the only fair rating to give it. I think if it's your kind of thing, you'd like this a lot. But if it's not, it's hard to get off the runway.
I'd give it a 1.5/5 if it was an option
Hard no
Dull
Couldn't listen. Sure it's lovely
Das ist ein Scherz. Hab mir stattdessen das neue Kynda Gray Album "Der Teufel auf meiner Schulter sagt es wird alles okay" reingezogen und es ist sehr gut

Nope. Not my forte
Very surprised at all the love this got. There were a couple of moments when I thought I might like it, but mostly it was just one of those cases of watering down a world or ethnic music to appeal to Western sensibilities, which I find not only disgusting but abhorrent.
