not real my vibes personally there were good rock aspects but it didn’t grab me in
There are for sure some classic moments on this album, and some serious hits outside of just the singles too. The opener “Hello” rips and starts the album off strong. What follows is a bunch of fun, jammy rock songs that only moderately show their obvious Beatles influence. Is it a perfect album, though? Absolutely not. I really can’t stand “Wonderwall” anymore, and I find “Some Might Say” pretty annoying honestly. It all culminates with “Champagne Supernova”, thought, I think is still the strongest song by far, so at least things end on a high note.
This isnt exactly my type of music, to me it feels a bit more like sound and less clear melodies. I think the lyrics were ok but i guess im just not the biggest fan of men’s voices when singing usually. I don’t know if i have a favorite song, they were all sort of equal Im gonna rate it a 3 but it might be more like a 3.5
Weird I get an Oasis album a couple of days after a Blur album. It was alright, I don't think Britpop is really my genre
Maybe...you're gonna be the one that saves me...
Very Louis Tomlinson vibes or more like lou is a lot Oasis vibe Rating: 7/10
It has some truly great songs, but the rest is just ok
ok i lowkey hate oasis, both their music and the people in it, i just find it soooo derivative of the beatles, but this wasnt horrible! i enjoyed a couple of songs. - 7/10
Wasn't a massive fan, didn't feel like interesting happened and nothing stood out for me. It was enjoyable at least.
fairly good britpop record 3.5/5 not very memorable but not bad
I own this album, but it has been a very long time since i listened to it because unfortunately you couldn't go anywhere in the UK without hearing songs from this album when it first came out, and I have had zero desire to listen to it since. A bit of a weak start with hello and I was never really a big fan of Roll with it. You have to give some merit to Wonderwall and Don't look back in Anger despite them being absolutely played to death. Some might say (sandwiched between a few mediocre songs) is ok, if you ignore that 70s rock intro. I remember quite liking She's Electric at the time, but found it a bit lacking now. The album ends well with Champagne Supernova. Standout track: Bizarrely, probably Some might Say or champagne Supernova. It has been quite interesting listening to this after all these years. It is not remotely at the same level as the debut album (which I gave a 5). In fact, I felt it was rather weak compared to it. it is mostly held together with some really big hits. When I saw I had this, I figured it was going to be an easy 4 and a good trip down memory lane, but I found myself sometimes bored listening to it, and I have very little interest in revisiting the album again, which according to my criteria puts it below a 4. In fact, I was quite disappointed. I feel like the album has not really stood up over time...so 3.5 stars.
Chill, balanced, relaxing but a tad sad of an album. Love the rhymes, but it's a bit generic. Would enjoy in a social setting! My favorite is Cast No Shadow
Heard it loads of times before.
Easy listening, second half of the album heated up with some bangers but overall nothing special
Um, tak overall to taki gabrysia music. Nie bardzo mój vibe, ale no rozumiem the hype. Tak ogólnie for me to 6/10
It’s a solid album. But overall, I walked away from it going “yeah, I heard these back in 1996 and I didn’t really need to hear them again.” But I’ll roll with it.
The hits are great, but too much filler
I've realized that I'm more of a singles dude with these albums. Champagne Supernova and Don't Look Back In Anger are so good, but on my second listen of this album, it's still quite bloated with similar sounding-ballads
Couple good songs and a couple that all sounded the same.
I liked it! Pleasantly surprised.
This really is a tale of two albums. Part of the album is pure magic (Womderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova), but the other part is just noise. In retrospect, do I think the pure magic songs are that way because this album defined my freshman year of high school? Things to ponder, but a solid 3.
Not great, but decent as I had expected. Too pop-y for my tastes and I don't like the vocals. Some of the instrumentals are pretty good though.
In a mood, but kind of annoying to me honestly. Glad dudes have this as their outlet though. Maybe I'm just mad this was never acoustically sung at me. Don't Look Back in Anger is okay. DNF.
It was aight ig…
I'm at album number 1013, and somehow the britpop albums on this list have surpassed 5,000? OK, a joke, but honestly at this point I'm so soured on britpop that I found it difficult to enjoy (What's the Story) Morning Glory? when it's peak! We have a clever album title, legendary songs (which include a classic meme!), catchy hooks, and more genres than just britpop (thank goodness). Unfortunately, a lot of this album comes across as emo teenager, and I find it hard to enjoy whiny vocals as a 36-year-old. My point is that I was very wishy-washy over this album--I think because I expected more from an album that has such a big legacy. I heard some interesting aspects that at least made my listen worthwhile. The vocals and lyrics of "She's Electric" are reminiscent of the Beatles. Specific beats in the aforementioned song and "Hello" sound just like Iggy Pop, particularly his song "The Passenger." "Don't Look Back In Anger"'s instrumental intro reminded me of John Lennon's "Imagine."
Would say 3.5 stars! Liked it, some of the vibe isn’t for me but ends strong and Wonderwall is a classic!
some classic bangers but as an album not overly fussed, quite samey
Not that much of an Oasis fan but still a good album with some cracking songs
Step down from the walls of sound in the first album and I never need to hear supernova or wonderwall ever again but there’s some bangers on the tracklist
I had a good time listening to the album. Apart from the heavy hitters (Wonderwall, Don't look back in Anger), I didn't know too much about the album. I was pleasently surprised with a few songs, while others didn't really hit the mark. Overall a decent album, not super memorable and a bit dull by the end, especially after the 2nd listen.
Favorites: roll with it, wonderwall, don’t look back in anger, she’s electric
Hello
Bro, what even IS a "Wonderwall"!??
it was quite fire shockingly
didn’t listen
Whiney, sulking mostly bad. I’m reminded of my boyfriend in 9th or 10th grade singing me Wonderwall and me breaking up with him because the sentiment was not shared. All that said, Champagne Supernova is a phenomenal song.
pretty solid. Good first day!
Good in parts
I mean its a classic.
just started this so was up a little later to hear (whats the story) morning glory? by Oasis, I knew about the band and had heard of them, never really heard them.. for me this is an okey album, maybe i would like it more if i listened to it 3 or four times, right now im lissening to cast no shadow.. ye ye, i havent listened to the hole album yet, but im bad at listening to music without doing anything u know. this song had a great begining and message, okey now im hearing "shes electric" bro thats may be my favourite.. okey in general a good album i liket it, kinda boring not my taste but would like it in a keezy movie or somthing
Oasis are alright, they have maybe two good songs from this album, but I can't really say that they don't have a very generic sound sometimes. Overall, it's alright having this in the background.
sympathieke plundering van the beatles... maar na tijdje begint de stem serieus tegen te steken
3.5
Every song on this album is better than wonderwall or champagne supernova.
apart from 3 songs its actually pretty mid
how many times have I heard this album and the songs still sound all the same?
A handful of radio hits from the mid 90s sandwiched between forgettable rock riffs. I see why this was popular at that point in time and why Oasis won the battle at this point in the BritPop wars vs. Blur, but at the same time the unoriginal tunes reminds me of Blur’s first album, which is to say, this album feels like it came out in 1990, not 1995, which makes most of the non-single tracks feel stale even 30 years later. Yes, the singles are iconic, yet, cliche for the most part. The one song that saved this album from 2 stars is Don’t Look Back in Anger. Anyways, here’s Wonderwall.
Surprisingly dated sounding in 2025, but 3 stars for “wonderwall”
I’ve always felt oasis are a bit bland and overrated but there’s definitely some good tracks in here: “don’t look back in anger” and “wonderwall” being my faves.
I've never listened to the whole album in order before. The unfamiliar songs were…forgettable. It is a strong album for what was then a young band.
The British sure love their Oasis. I however, am not British. I mean, before we take their word on this, let’s look at some other things that the British think are really great - Colonialism, beans on toast, saying no to fluoride, corn as a pizza topping …. So, I think we’re going to have to form our own opinion here. And it’s fine. It has well known songs and some mega-hits. But the rest is bland, dad rock. It’s trying way too hard to be the Beatles and, while it comes close in places, which is notable, the rest is hollow and performative, trite and veinglorious. Gallagher’s lyrics are neither deep nor moving. They are like a purchase made at a drive thru - fine for the moment but not really going last much longer than the present. (I hitched a ride with my soul by the side of the road/ Just as the sky turned black./ I took a walk with my fame down memory lane./ I never did find my way back./) Um, say what, bro? WTF is that drivel? The instrumentals are strong and the sonic experiments create interesting hooks and grooves that work well and stick with you. It’s a good pop rock record with some great songs but not much else.
This album is like a Saltine. Good but pretty plain and uninspired. They need something. Dab of jam, slice of cheese, maybe some chicken soup to dunk them in....saltines need something extra to add character. That's how I feel about Oasis, good but they are missing character, this is good Brit-Pop but it just feels empty. And why on earth is Champaine Supernova over seven minutes long?!?! Not my favorite, I'll grab a box of buttery Ritz instead.
Not a huge Oasis fan, but 3 stars for Don't Look Back in Anger
A couple songs here take me back. Though I don’t love this band overall.
Of the major BritPop acts, Oasis is pretty solidly my least preferred but sometimes the Gallaghers latch onto undeniable hooks. The pop craftsmanship here is real. Even if you've grown bored with Wonderwall, there's still like six other serious hits on this including Champagne Supernova which I've yet to grow bored of. My main grievance with Oasis has held firm over the years which is great hooks but if the Gallaghers write a song under four minutes, thirty seconds, they break out in hives. Their peers were very good at flash in the pan songs interspersed with longer tracks. Oasis songs are all crazy long and their hooks can't all survive the length (like Roll With It which has a great chorus but exhausts me the further it strays) Favorite Tracks: Hello, Morning Glory, Champagne Supernova
The hits are undeniable hits, but with this listen, it really stood out to me how blatantly they're ripping off the Beatles. I mean I always knew it, but if you squint your ears on a some of these songs, you won't be able to tell the difference.
Some might say it's got all their best songs on it. Some might say it's unmemorable. I listen to it every few years and agree on both, because to me Oasis is just meh.
Impressive that all of these big songs are on one album. I'm just not a big fan
Despite the Lennon-esque opening bars to Don’t Look Back in Anger, it turns out that Oasis are Slade. This is chugging, turgid stadium rock with the occasional swirling guitar. It has neither bite nor balls, and is one of the few Britpop albums that isn’t even as good as Definitely Maybe. The should have called this one Definitely Average.
wasnt too bad but having said that wasnt too good either. Guitar needed tuning and guitarist needed some lessons.
No tämähän on tälläinen hittilevy brittipopin osalta. Ihan kelpoa musaa mutta debyytti on parempi. 3/5
Onhan tämä pätevä poprock-levy. 3/5
Utterly average pub rock. Not terrible but inexplicable why they are so revered.
Fine. I never need to hear wonderwall again, it's a boring song. I like Champagne Supernova. Most of this I wouldn't listen to again
Beleza que Wonderwall é um clássico, mas acho que o álbum não consegue ir além dele. Mas gostei de Don't Look In Anger, She's Electric.
couple of solid songs and the rest feels very same-y
“Wonderwall” — not sure I ever need to listen to that track again. It’s not the record’s fault, but it’s just been overdone. It feels like the album itself was born out of the commercialization of the ’90s. But maybe that’s part of its point - the themes seem to touch on fame, confidence, and that larger-than-life attitude that defined the decade. The record sounds remarkably well-produced for something nearly 30 years old. At the same time, it feels too familiar - too close to the sound of late-’90s and early-2000s rock. But maybe that’s because this album created that sound. It had so much influence that it now feels like everything else. In a way, it’s the musical embodiment of British cockiness. Musically, it feels a bit generic to me, though that might just be because of how much it’s been imitated. Oasis in the ’90s were probably what Linkin Park or Coldplay were in the 2000s - everywhere. The songs have been used so much that it’s hard to hear them fresh anymore. Still, that’s not the record’s fault. It’s probably worth a 4/5 in terms of quality and influence, but for me, it doesn’t convince me to listen to more Oasis, so it's a 3.
While I'm certainly not a fan of Oasis, their music brings me back to a time when I actively hated their music. In retrospect, it's not terrible.
Whiny jangles (and also Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova)
Better and more consistent than I expected, having only really ever heard the hits. Not one I'm racing back to listen to though. Fav tracks: Hello, Don't Look Back In Anger, Morning Glory Saved a song: N RYM: N
I understand why people like this, but it's just not interesting to me. I can only handle one or two songs in a row before I get bored.
I've been dreading this. 779 albums it took to get here, but get here we did. Not sure which i dislike more, the band, or the fans. The band have some decent tunes though. I'm sure there are some nice fans too, but i've yet to meet one.
It's still absolutely bewildering to me that this became huge, and bands like Sugar didn't. It's not bad, it's just all right.
nooooot in the mood for hard rock fuckkk
It’s a decent album it has some pretty good hits that feel very nostalgic and like British. But I still think they’re very overrated and aren’t as amazing as everyone says.
These songs were made to be performed in arenas. Massive production, amazing melodies. This record had a grip on the world those who weren't around at the time will never understand. There are some absolute bangers on here, but it's just not my personal favourite sound profile in the world. Much respect to Oasis, but this gets a 3/5 from me.
I just realized that Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova are three separate songs. They're not all the same thing! Or are they? Clearly, I am not a big Oasis fan. Actually listening to this from start to finish didn't change my perception of them. It's meh. Very same-same. Not terrible. Kind of whiney. Not interesting enough to rise above 3 stars.
I really enjoy "Don't Look Back in Anger" but I really don't enjoy "Wonderwall" so they kind of cancel out and bring this to "fine, enjoyable"
Oasis is still fine.
Although there are a couple standouts on this LP (Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova) I just find most of it a difficult listen. The lyrics as well as the vocals seem forced and without passion. I struggled to like Oasis back in the 90s, and I don't feel the test of time as proven my original reaction to be any different.
Solid album! I even enjoyed the songs I didn't know like: Don’t Look Back in Anger and She’s Electric.
I'll give this 3 stars because it's not horrible, but I'm not a big fan of derivative songwriting and whiny vocals. At least the guitar sounds are good.
Not all that familiar with this band but I enjoyed their tunes. Good vocals
The first half of this and Champagne Supernova are mostly good, well done to Liam and The Oases!
Somehow I both like their music and also annoyed by it.
3.0 - Ok
Why do people like these crybaby brothers so much?
Feels timeless, all really catchy tunes, and WONDAWAAL. 3.4
Pretty forgetable. Not any bad songs but most were bland and forgettable aside from a few stand out tracks. Light 6
I actually really wanted to like this more than I did. It was more rock than I give Oasis credit for (as opposed to soft pop) but it just felt… noisy and messy in an ineffective way.
people LOVE these guys. and i don’t really get it! this was fine. champagne supernova is good. but i really don’t get anything special from these guys
Just ok. This album doesn't hold up outside of the popular 3 songs.
Oasis on Oasis. Klassikoita jotka osaa melkein ulkoa
Brit rock
Wonderwalls actually pretty good lol
a little bit boring but it has wonderwall so 7/10
Not as good as it thinks it is
Yep, that was Oasis.
Nostalgin gör det helt outhärdligt men svårt att bortse från den kvalitet som faktiskt finns
Hello: Good intro cool to see where modern bands like CATB get their sound from Roll With It: feels like every scene in the Sex Pistols Hulu show where they were performing Wonderwall: Anyway here’s… Don’t Look Back In Anger: I like when songs have what people say in quotes also the line “Please don’t put your heart in the hands of a rock n roll band” Hey Now!: I like, very coming of age I feel The Swamp Song V1: instrumental innit Some Might Say: very much like the intro Cast No Shadow: instrumental is very pretty She’s Electric: Definitely my least favorite but can definitely can see myself humming along out of nowhere Morning Glory: eh The Swamp Song V2: instrumental innit pt 2 Champagne Supernova: So pretty perfect album ending Top5: 1) Champagne Supernova 2)Cast No Shadow 3) Hey Now! 4) Some Might Say 5) Don’t Look Back In Anger 7/10
My first English album on this journey. There's parenthesis in the title of the album but the title of the song is just Morning Glory, even though it could totally have the parenthesis. Also, it should be (What’s the Story), Morning Glory, no? Tracks I already knew: Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova. Track I didn’t know but kinda dug: Hey Now! The musicality can be “simple” but I don’t mean that in a pejorative sense. This is 1995 so I don’t know if it fits in the rock revival. Thinking of the album in context I wonder if it wasn’t different enough from what was going on or distanced enough from the basic rock most of the tracks exemplify. Naturally, there are a few tracks on here that are much more complex and with higher production levels which stand out, which would have been obvious at the time.
Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger are undeniable pop rock gems. The rest is either brought down by laughably bad lyrics, or aggressively mediocre. With different lyrics I think She’s Electric could have been a nice light Beatles homage.
Good but often repetitive and you really notice that long screech of a voice from the main singer after a while
solid 90s rock. wonderwall enters the world. 3.5
I enjoyed this! Obvious hits and my favorites were "Champagne Supernova," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Wonderwall." Probably won't return to the deeper cuts.
A good album but I can't taste it any higher because I cannot get over my bias that the Gallagher brothers are arseholes
Ive always wondered what the draw to Oasis was back in the 90s. They wrote some decent songs, and a couple of them I like quite a bit. But a whole album’s worth of Oasis? It’s like the audio equivalent of a Full English Breakfast. I like all the ingredients, and yet I find the whole breakfast so bland. I don’t think the Brits know how to use salt or something. Anyway, that’s how I feel about this record. I ought to like everything here, but it’s just mostly bland. And I still don’t understand how they got to be as big as they were. 3/5 I’m not even sure I should rate it this highly. I feel like it’s the perfect middle of the road, the definition of mediocrity. But I also feel like it’s better than other things I’ve rated 2.5. I guess I’m giving this record a half a point extra just for “Don’t Look Back in Anger”.
not my cup of tea
Classic, but didn’t really enjoy the mix of it and got a bit bored since its so long!
Better than Definitely Maybe. 115 charges.
Jangly and melodic, harder than I thought. But man, so many British albums on here!
Found out that Liam only wrote very few songs and when Noel sung live he would just leave the stage for a bit hahah what a useless twat
I was genuinely not excited for this pick but was surprised. I didn't fall in love with it, but I certainly didn't hate it. Some might say, don't look back in anger. I won't! I can even imagine this album growing on me to the point it would bump up a star.
Honestly just doesn't tickle me. Fair play to the lads, but I'd rather not have to sit through this again.
Eh... impresiones encontradas.
𝘞𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳, and 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢 are undeniable standouts, but much of the rest blurs together, with similar arrangements and Liam’s vocals rarely shifting in tone. Blur’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘌𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦 may not be perfect, yet it feels more varied and musically adventurous.
a few good tracks hidden among a minefield of monotony. liams voice is incredibly grating. the highlights struggle to shine under the weight of the bands bloated self importance.
I unapologetically think wonderwall, champagne supernova, and especially don’t look back in anger are great songs. I remember disliking the rest of the album more, but on this listen I found most of it fine. Still not a fan of their heavier distorted sound but still, a good album. Minus one more point for overt Britishness.
I'm sure this was a common problem in America and the UK at the time but there was this aspiring musician at my high school that played Wonderwall with his little acoustic guitar at every assembly or school function so I've deliberately avoided Oasis and Britpop generally as a result. That said I enjoyed this way more than I was expected, there are a lot of rip off indie bands that came after these guys in the 21st century. Somewhere around a 3.5 I believe but the door is cracked to let more Oasis into my life.
Bra album ändå, min favorit även sen tidigare är klart champagne supernova. Tror ej jag kommer lyssna på hela albumet igen dock
I think the last time I listened to this album was shortly after I graduated high school in the early 2000's. Oasis were kind of on the way out and they were doing a smaller (for them) stadium tour around Europe. They played the 15k seat or so soccer stadium in my hometown, which was a bit of an oddity because not too many bands of their stature would come directly there; they'd usually play Venice or Verona which are bigger cities with properly large venues. Anyway, they put on what I would consider to be one of the worst shows I've ever been to. There was no opener, they played album recordings of their own songs before coming on stage, they didn't say a single thing in between songs, and fucked off 30 seconds after they finished their set, no encore, nothing. I was really disappointed, and not because I even liked Oasis that much, but because I expected something more from what was a huge band just a few years back. I don't remember if this was when the two brothers hated each other the most or not, but I don't really care. That whole experience sums up this album. Sure, the big singles are familiar and I would even consider some of them to be good (Don't Look Back In Anger, Morning Glory), but the rest of it is pretty dull. I don't remember what was supposed to be so good about this. Considering some of the other Brit Rock bands that were around pumping out great material at the time (Supergrass, Blur, etc) this is really sub par. It's saved from total mediocrity by a few of the singles.
I don't go deep with Oasis, but the hits are good. Solid 3/5, above average album.
In 1995? 4.5. In 2025, a solid 3.5.
Cheap pop. Never understood the hype. Good voice and instrumentation.
Nothing special, my score would be higher or lower if I had nostalgia or minded the praise. Wonderwall is a stylistic outlier in this album.
I've heard most of the songs on this album, I just didn't realize they all came from one album. I neither love nor hate Oasis, they're just another Britpop band with marginally better songs than most in the genre.
I SAID MAYBEEEEEEE
3/5
Lots of Oasis classics but honestly it’s not my favorite kind of rock so i skipped 3/4 through. still nice to hear where the classics are from tho
No me lo he escuchado entero pero HAY QUE DECIR que hasta el momento de los álbumes que me han salido de rock ha sido el mejor
This strikes me as high school and college stadium rock. I see the appeal, but don’t need to pursue further.
It was fine. Played in the background while I did other stuff and it wasn't bad. I really like "Don't Look Back in Anger".
There are a couple of bangers on here, but also a whole lot of 90s drone.
I want falafel
When I say this album is overplayed and overrated, I don't mean that it's bad. I don't even mean to say I didn't enjoy it. It was incredibly influential and popular in the late 90s / early 2000s. It's just that this edge-less, squeaky clean sound doesn't do it for me. Says a lot when Radiohead are edgier than you.
They’re not all winners, but it’s a classic.
Same thing as other ‘greatest’ albums here. Two three songs are so strong but the rest is average.
Champagne Supernova is a good song (by far my favourite on the album), yet overall I'm...meh. Maybe Oasis was overplayed on the radio. Or maybe I really do prefer Blur.
Wonderballs.
not particularly compelling to me! but not an active dislike
Okay but what is a wonderwall
Propaganda en la que no voy a caer. Igual gratamente sorprendido que sean más heavy de lo que aparentaban. Not: 2.8
At the time, it was said that these were the new Beatles. They're certainly good, but as good as the Beatles...
Some songs are good, others not. It is a decent album, but not anything I would highlight.
wankers (wish i could give half stars)
"Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball" Listened to B4: Yes (30 years ago) Tracks Already Saved on Spotify: 4 - Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back in Anger, Morning Glory, Wonderwall Standout Tracks : Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back in Anger, Morning Glory, Wonderwall (71/100)
There are some songs that don't really land for me, but those that do hit hard. Very British. Very 90s.
Oasis. Verken mer eller mindre
There's like 2 good songs on this album and the rest sound very derivative of each other
it’s okay but i just don’t like oasis that much
Solid pop with some great songs. It was hard to get through the 90s without hearing a ton of this. Not my thing exactly but I see why they were successful and this absolutely belongs on this list
Wonderwall is a killer song that has unfortunately been overplayed and memeified. The whole album is okay, but the only songs that stuck out to me also happen to be the most viewed: Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova. The rest fades into the background as their unique style seems less prominent.
I think this album is VERY close to the line between good (even great) albums I really enjoyed, and albums people need to listen to before they die. I listened to this album a lot back in the day (especially my 4 months in Washington) but never really understood the fascination with these guys. So it presents a rating dilemma - I would probably give this album a 4/5 if I were just rating how much I liked it. But it doesn't seem like I should give an album a 4 in this thing if I don't consider it an album people need to listen to before they die. So I'll probably give it a 3 and that's the reason. That, and these guys being unsufferable douches.
Sensitive Britpop with big catchy hooks. Straightforward, accessible, and easy to digest through decent, well-arranged songs that dont reinvent the wheel. Some are able to dig up emotionality with Both a bit of sadness and hope to it. It also sounds a bit timeless - of course I know it’s 90s Britpop, but it could have fit in with other times and scenes or calls back to them enough. But overall, it’s whatever and I just don’t find it highly interesting…all together it’s just a fine album. The strongest points are the edgier or slightly more psych-influenced tracks, but there’s not much of it. Overall, There’s little enough variation to prevent me coming back. An album where the lyrics hit you, and if they don’t there’s not much left to pull you in. I guess you had to be there.
Oh Wonderwall the song of choice for tools that had a guitar in the 90's. Seriously I was at a house party and some dude had a guitar and I swear he only knew Wonderwall and one other song. If you've ever seen Animal House you know what we were all thinking... So the album isn't bad overall. There are some songs that are pretty good even if they have some lyrics that are weak. One of the songs started off really rocking....then went to incessant whining. I was really hoping to be surprised and they just go full on rockstar, sadly that didn't happen. The only song I really enjoyed was Don't Look Back in Anger. It's a great song even if he sounds kinda whiny while doing it. Overall I do not understand the love they get, kinda mid to me, although at one point one of the brothers announced they were bigger than the Beatles and it pissed off so many people. Seriously it was hilarious, they get an extra star for that.
It was fine. Not a standout, but enjoyable
Wonderwall Dont look back in anger Overall good, and much closer to my tastes than yesterday's album but most of the tracks felt forgettable to me.
A classic of classic rock revival. Hasn’t aged super well as my taste has broadened, but some of the tracks are undeniable.
As living my teenage years in the 90's, many of these songs were really everywhere and maybe because of that overfeed I got really bored of the hit singles. Listening now again after a few decades I must admit that many of the songs are really great. Nothing to get suprised about and Oasis isn't the most innovative band in the world, but they really can make great songs. Of course Wonderwall and other hit singles are great, but I have forgotten other songs such as Cast no shadows and She's electric which are great too. It might even be that some of these songs will go to some of my playlists.
Skapligt, men det är de man hört innan som är bäst
One of their best.
pa nije ovo loše. bilo bi bolje bez vandervola
honestly, i have never liked this band. they come across as annoying, pretentious twats. the singing is whiny and nasally. having said that, i found the songs that i wasn’t previously familiar with (the deep cuts, if you will) were better than the singles.
It's well-reported Oasis have a love affair with the Beatles, but I could never hear it. Over their brief life, the Beatles reinvented themselves constantly, and pushed boundaries where they could...and could get away with it. To that end, I always thought Blur were more Beatles than this Burnage lot. That said, this came out during a troublesome time of my life, and 30 years later it's still hard for me to listen to this album. You want the best Oasis album? The closest is The Masterplan, with all the b-sides on it...usually much better listening than their a-sides.
Don’t Look Back in Anger is 10/10. Rest of the album is not very memorable, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova notwithstanding.
not my dad's britpop band of choice but it's honestly fine
First time listen and it was okay. I was expecting more, but must have been overhyped. Still a pretty solid album.
Easy listening, but nothing groundbreaking here. Some good poppy riffs but a pretty generic sound overall. I think this gets reviewed highly due to the nostalgia it provides people who grew up with it.
Ein paar Kracher, ein Haufen mittelmäßiger Songs. 3-4
the hits are good, but the rest is meh
The songs from this I really liked back in the day - Don't Look Back, Supernova - still holds up, the rest doesn't do much for me and sounds closer to Be Here Now than Def Maybe.
Rock, 1995 -> 3
Really struggled with picking a rating for this one. I was fighting the urge to sing a long at my desk, but when the album ended I had absolutely no desire to relisten. I don’t know if it’s just that I don’t want to like it. I can’t deny how enjoyable it is to listen to the big hits on this album but some of it just felt too noisy for me. I preferred the songs that were a bit more melodic. There are definitely some good catchy songs, but as an album it fell a bit flat for me. I think even with the songs I want to sing along to, I’m only really interested if they’re on somewhere I can sing along with other people. Maybe that’s just because they’ve been overplayed, maybe it’s just the association I have with it. I’m not sure. Giving it a 3 because I don’t think I’ll listen again. Fav song: Don’t Look Back In Anger Least fav: Roll With It
Mostly overrated but I enjoy Don’t Look Back In Anger and Morning Glory
Today is gonna be the day that I give you a 3
Damn I really got Wonderwall rickrolled at the start of the opening track Edit Apr 15 2026: 4 --> 3
-1 for wonderwall
It was a good album overall, i knew two songs and i alr liked them but this album was TOO loud and too rocky…i don’t know. maybe it’s the point of my life where i’m now but i didn’t enjoy it that much, it was kinda overwhelming. my favourite song was Champagne Supernova
Everyone has dated or met an Oasis fan who clearly expresses a specific personality. The songs reflect this. There are good songs, some are quite tiring, as if I were a drunk at the end of a party. Others are very lively, and make you want to listen to them again. The album has some interludes in between. There are so many songs, at some point it gets boring. It is certainly a nostalgic album of something that was cool a few decades ago.
Insanely overrated, but there are a few good tunes on it.
No me encanta oasis pero ponerle menos puntaje sería de termo
Three stars for the good songs (She's Electric, Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova are all great). A lot of the rest is unremarkable "lad" stuff and so musically basic it's difficult to love.
It maybe a great album. I almost wish I had not heard the tracks so much when I was young. His voice annoys me now unfortunately.
Favorite song: Wonderwall. Overall score: 6.7/10

I will never understand how so many people consider Oasis to be one of the greatest bands. An hour of this monotonous droning is a bit much.
It’s all pretty good but underwhelming (yes including Wonderall). It does end on the highest of notes though.
Yeah, it's a good listen. But maybe I've heard the songs too many times?
After they exploded into our lives with their first LP I’d high hopes for Oasis. I loved Liam’s fuck you attitude and rasp. There are high spots - Champagne Supernova, Cast No Shadow, What’s The Story - and Hello will be a banging intro to their gigs this summer - but I can’t help being disappointed when I listen afresh to how plodding much of it is. Status Quo anyone…
Decent listen, was pretty good rock music, would be in my top 100 most likely.
Didn’t grab me like Boxer
I’ve had 34 albums generated so how am I already getting the second Oasis album out of the 1089 albums on this list? That being said, I am liking this one a lot more than the last one and a lot more than the other britpop albums I’ve received. I feel like they’ve really improved their songwriting and instrumentation since Definitely Maybe. Or maybe it’s just the nostalgia factor of having listened to this album in high school? Favourite tracks: Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory
Solid album, not much else to say tbh
I mean, so anyways, here’s wonderwall. Solid album
Hits. Other songs eh
I can really feel the ‘90s vibe. Even though I always preferred Blur over Oasis, this album rocks. I had never listened to What’s the Story Morning Glory? in full before—but come on, “Roll with It” absolutely rocks. Sure, “Wonderwall” was a massive hit back in the day, but it feels a bit boring now. (How many times have I heard it? Around 200?) The beginning of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” is a clear nod to Imagine, but it’s still an anthem I appreciate—though it’s not really mine. Overall, it’s much more rock’n’roll than I expected, but still… it’s pop’n’roll at heart. (Sorry, Liam.)
I don’t have much to say about the album or oasis in general. Probably wouldn’t listen again. Anyway, here’s wonderwall…
Anthemic Beatleesque Britpop that it’s hard to truly dislike, but it’s too simple and derivative to truly be great. Blur kicks their ass.
Ah Oasis, I hate the Gallaghers but you can't deny the importance of some of the songs on this album. I did enjoy it, but other than the usual songs, this isn't an album I'd go back to regularly. 3/5 Anyway, here's Wonderwall.
Wery wonderwallian album
Growing up in the same area as the Gallaghers means having already heard Wonderwall way too many times. Never been big on Oasis, it's a fine album but I never feel the want to listen to it.
Fine
Not bad - the music and vocals are quite tolerable, but nothing truly exciting or a reason to come back.
when its the 90’s and you want ELO but without the precision or attention to craft. the Gallaghers themselves freely admit that their lyrics don’t actually mean anything, and i feel like the songs suffer for it sometimes. every line doesn’t need to be some profound poetry necessarily, but shit like “slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball,” makes me feel like they think we’re all stupid. and given the outsized loudmouth personalities of these two donuts, they probably do. even so, a lot of the guitar texture is pretty cool, and Liam’s got a good voice. it moves along at a pretty steady clip most of the time, the ideas get too stale or overstay their welcome despite some of the songs being fairly long for a pop-rock album.
Reviews 9 and 10 of the Easter blitz, Oasis. I insist on listening to these two records side by side. Not because I’ve ever done that before, or because I have particularly strong feelings about Oasis’ imperial phase in the mid 90s. I haven’t, to my present recollection, ever actually chosen to listen to Oasis; in fact has anyone? Hyperbole, sure, but I wouldn’t be all that surprised if Oasis was a site-specific phenomenon that a person chooses to maximise their exposure to through numerous and studied life choices (pubs, football, football pubs, pub football etc.) rather than, say, a band someone buys the CD of. When Oasis reformed recently I didn’t really care. I was born 10 years too late for the full impact – their songs don’t function as a time capsule for me in that way (though their ubiquity as a cultural force means they appear in more than a couple of core memories; one of the worst hangovers I’ve ever suffered quickly springs to mind). The frenzy for tickets seemed quaint, the dynamic pricing totally cynical, the promise of a night transported to the Britpop 90s about as attractive as a night in a cheap tourist trap in Magaluf. But then the months rolled over, the buzz built to breaking point, the gigs loomed, and finally the Oasis vibes were declared to be in the area. And in that moment – awash with declarations from England’s comedy commentariat that this was the defining moment in their own cultural lives – I’d challenge anyone with a pulse and ears to rather be anywhere else than at those first arena gigs. It’s Oasis, they’ve got bangers, come on. Bangers like the immortal might of “Live Forever” – a song which, and I challenge you to better this review – is just really fucking great. Or the immediately hooky “Supersonic”; the blithely pensive “Wonderwall”; the truly, properly anthemic “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Champagne Supernova”; the thrilling cycling up the gears of “Some Might Say”; or the purest instantiations of swag ever committed to record, “Cigarettes and Alcohol” and “Roll With It”. Songs that will, rightly, exist forever in the cultural fabric (a cultural fabric that may or may not carry a Stone Island badge between the elbow and shoulder). Then there’s the tier two stuff, stuff that may actually have been the most influential: the melancholic “Slide Away” that sounds like a million subsequent indie bands (and especially mid-career, Marr-inclusive Cribs); or “Up in the Sky” that would slot into the track list of any number of mega selling indie records of the past 30 years, and most recently Fontaines D.C’s Romance. There’s some pretty shit stuff (“Cast No Shadow”, in particular; dreadful) too – but it’s never enough to even partially eclipse the good. And when they’re good, the truth is that there’s very few bands who can compete. It’s why Oasis can mean a great many things to an even greater number of people, and why no matter where you stand on that continuum that run tedious bores to total geniuses … you are standing on it. You can’t fail to have an opinion on them. And in some ways, that feels like the biggest artistic triumph imaginable.
TODAYYY IS GONNA BE THE DAY THAT IM GONNA POST MY REVIEWWWWWW Its ok... I of course liked "Wonderwall" and also "Don't Look Back in Anger." "Champagne Suepernova" was also refreshing at the end, I would have liked to hear a project with more variety like that.
Perfectly reasonable radio friendly album. No filler. Also nothing special here. On tothe next one.
Hard to deny there are many good tunes here, sadly they were recorded by the most annoying sounding man on Earth.
I don’t know, I just don’t get the overwhelming universal love for these guys. A few of their songs stand out and one or two may even reach classic status, but I think there’s a lot of filler too. A mid-tier band/album for me.
This album is not bad, but it's not really good either. There were a couple of tracks that had my attention, but most of it was unemotional, generic Brit-Pop, which was mostly forgettable. Sounds like music that you find in soundtracks of Rom-Com movies.
Good in spades, but I got bored of it halfway through. Morning Glory, the song, is great though. That never gets old even if other songs on here don’t leave as strong of an impression on me.
If Gallagher didn't sing I'd be happier
should we throw a party? should we invite bella hadid?
milquetoast
The hits on this album do a very good job of encompasing the music of my youth (90s Alternative) and I've heard them lots but not the album, read enough that people think this album is amazing. The hits are as great as they've ever been, the rest of the album left me on the brink of believing those other statements but never quite finding the magic. It may grow to 4 stars after a relisten or two.
trotz Wonderwall, ist halt Oasis und weiterhin nicht so mein Fall
Never been a huge fan, good but not terrific. Still Noel is a talented songwriter and Liam has stage charisma, but the band lacks something to consider them as top tier act. This album has the song that puts everyone trying to play guitar and Noel's singalong anthem...1,2 and soooo....the rest are just ok songs.
Well, it does get the "Proust's madeleine" job strolling me along (nice) memory lane when I lived in London during "Cool Britania" Tony Blair' s time. But this album didn't age gracefully and only the hit Wonderwall still rings nice to the ears. I give it a 3 rather than a 2 only for history. Today I am sure I'd vote Tony BLUR!
I don't know. The songs sound alright, but I just can not get over the singer's voice. It's sooooo nasally.
Oki
A few good songs, the rest were fairly forgettable.
Cannot believe this is 30 years old ... and they are still out there. I guess an OK album, but no wonder there are not may hits from this ... Oh yeah... I haven't heard "Wonderwall" enough in my life!
Oasis so could be better. Surprisingly decent. Ruined by Liam Gallagher, all but one of the good Oasis songs on here
Hello, Don't Look Back in Anger and Morning Glory are all bangers. I even like She's Electric and Some Might Say. But Oasis are mid. The rest of this album is mid. Wonderwall sucks. I'm English so I get to say all this as an authority. 3 stars.
Was honestly surprised track 3 wasn't my favorite as I listened to the other albums. At some point the album started to blend together so I had to lock in to finish, but overall good album. I'd probably have it in the background for easy listening, anyway here's wonderwall
Classic stadium rock, doesn’t blow me but I can totally hear how crazy something like morning glory would be live
I've never really liked Oasis. 3 stars for good pop-rock.
Hello 3.3 Roll with It 3.2 Wonderwall 3.4 Don't Look Back in Anger 4 Hey Now! 3.7 Untitled (also know as "The Swamp Song - Excerpt 1") 3 Some Might Say 3.4 Cast No Shadow 3.3 She's Electric 3.6 Morning Glory 3.5 Untitled (also known as "The Swamp Song - Excerpt 2") 3 Champagne Supernova 3.7 Score: 3.425
I don't know about this. Obviously, I remember when this album hit and the singles hit you with a sense of nostalgia, some of these songs are absolute bangers if not cheesy for sure. Oasis is maybe the easiest band to goof on, those Gallagher brothers are corny as hell and take themselves so seriously to the point of parody. I wasn't stoked to listen to this, but it was fine, but Oasis is not for me.
Ah, the resurrection of the Beatles. They've been photographed more than Jesus Christ! The hit songs are catchy, but I was never really a fan. She's Electric was a deep cut that I liked. Overall, I'm not a fan of the vocals. He sounds like an annoying British guy yelling at me. Plus, their attitudes are bloody shite. 3.
Pretty decent overall. A lot of the singles are super familiar, of course, but I’ve never really felt emotionally connected to them. That said, the melodies are fairly strong. Vocals were a little whiny or bored-sounding at times (maybe just peak Brit attitude lol). I’d probably land somewhere around 3.5
I would not call this your typical pop rock album because, unlike most pop rock bands, Oasis are at least trying to make something good here. Are they succeeding? Well, yeah? Sort of? This feels like a lesser version of The Smashing Pumpkins' best records: Noisy alt-rock mixed together with quieter, more personal acoustic songs, but with worse riffs, solos, and writing; less eclectic and energetic. This is the kind of album that makes me wish I used the out-of-100 rating system instead. In 95% of the cases, I infinitely prefer the out-of-10 scale because it's the most accurate system I can use without my decision paralysis murdering me. But the gap between scores in it is not narrow enough to describe "this is, like, 10% better than that other album I'd heard." And Morning Glory is about 10% better than an average pop rock album. It's not the most groundbreaking stuff the genre has to offer, but considering the fact that a lot of pop rock is scientifically crafted to be the most mid music humanity could feasibly come up with at that point in history, this is an improvement. A marginal one, but still. It feels like they had some good things going for them—some solid riffs, some catchy choruses—but then a producer came in and said, "What if this 42-year-old Christian stay-at-home mother of two from Birmingham finds this too loud? We can't have that!" and they had to dial it down a little. And this is essentially what holds most of pop back—the fact that the artists are forced to sacrifice creativity in favor of mass appeal because that's what the shareholders want. I can almost assuredly tell you that they’d wanted to go full shoegaze-mode at a couple of points, but the invisible yet powerful hand of Capital said that that way, Wonderwall wouldn’t become every acoustic guitar player’s sleep paralysis demon, so we got what we got. Still, Morning Glory is definitely not the most soulless corporate music I've heard. I think they had good ideas but failed to realize them to their full potential. This is definitely not a bad album, but it feels like it had a solid foundation that went somewhat underutilized. Like I've said before, it's 10% better than an average pop rock album. And since an average pop rock album, in my experience, is around a 6, let's round it up and say this is a 7. But it's a pretty weak 7. 7/10
This is class
today
Never a favourite of mine even if it has a couple of belting tracks on it. Definitely Maybe is still superior
Pretty good
I make no secret of my distaste for Oasis, but it is largely a distaste for the band itself and I am once again forced to admit this is a good album. It deserves four stars but I'm deducting a star because they're just bloody irritating.
yet another victim of 'album on the list because of one famous song.' wonderwall isn't even that good
a classic for a reason and it’s fun to notice how their sound has influenced other bands I love. I can see how it might not be for everyone but you’re guaranteed to find at least two songs that you’d enjoy listening to on this album. I wouldn’t say it has no skips as some songs stand out a lot more than others but it’s overall a well made album
Feb 24 2025 (Mon) | Day 1 - Bit samey - Know most tunes - Balamory ?? - Fav song: Champagne Supernova #1990s #1995 #spotify #'25 #feb '25 [3.5*]
Listened to the deluxe remastered edition. I remember a lot of the big singles. Still hold up really well. Some of the other tracks are just kinda mediocre. Found myself liking more of the b sides and demos and live stuff. Showed a bit more levity and experimentation that the original album didn’t let shine because it was so focused on one kind of sound.
Oasis... Not my favorite pop rock band, but I know they've got a couple of solid hits. Roll With It was ok, but not memorable. Understandable why it didn't get radio play. Wonderwall. The most OVERPLAYED song on the album. So whiny. Don't Look Back in Anger. Good song. Cast No Shadow is pretty good, should have gotten more attention. Lyrics are interesting, tune is catchy. Morning Glory was pretty good as well. Champagne Supernova, the first tune I actually heard from Oasis. I remember seeing the music video on MTV, back when they actually played music. Decent enough song. All in all, good album. Oasis never caught me as a band that I wanted to give a relisten, but they weren't a band I couldn't stand listening to again. My Rating: 3/5
less whiny than usual
Three undeniably great songs. Two or three good songs. The rest is mostly decent filler. I was 14 when this was released. I didn't really get it then. I maybe get it a little more now. I still think this might be one of the most overrated albums (and bands, especially by the band members themselves) of all time. People are seriously comparing this to the Beatles? I mean, come on!
Already listened to it many times. Iconic and classic.
Struggling to have an opinion
Oasis were the apotheosis of 90’s lad culture, swaggering and boorish and utterly convinced of their own greatness. They’d obviously grown up listening to Revolver on repeat and did a pretty good job of channelling some of the energy and attitude of that era, if not the musical or lyrical ability. One of the major problems I have listening back is the way that the sound is so compressed to seem louder. I can imagine them in the studio asking the technicians to turn everything up to 11. Blur were better.
It's a decent album, but the sound is honestly not good (there's no room for breathing, I really dislike this kind of claustrophobic production), the music is OK but far too hyped, the brothers are assholes -- who think they are revolutionized music whereas they just found a way of pleasing a large audience without reinventing anything (doesn't mean the music is not good, but give a break, it's not mindblowing), and only Corgan sings worst than Liam. Blur was better!
Classic, very nostalgic.
I would have given this a 5 but unfortunately today I have a policy of ‘Dynamic Rating’, so it’s just going to be a 3. And if anyone asks me about it, I’ll say I didn’t know it was happening, even though that would make me - in the words of Robert Smith - ‘fucking stupid or a liar’.
A britpop classic. Heavy on guitars and noisy. Opening song was middling. Roll with It had a Beatles influence. And no matter how much the internet hates Wonderwall, it's still a great song. And Don't Look Back in Anger is greater. And Hey Now was beautiful too. The interludes felt unnecessary. Morning Glory had a sing-along anthemic vibe. But the real star of the album is the gorgeous ballad Champagne Supernova. Great vocals by Liam. Such a bittersweet way to end an album. Still, since I don't find Britpop interesting, I'll give it a 3.
Too long cut some fat off. Too many repeated choruses
honestly i enjoyed this more than i thought i would. i definitely liked don't look back in anger, also (oops) wonderwall, morning glory, and champagne supernova. however, i guess it wasn't the most adventurous album and some of the tracks sounded a bit too similar so it gets a bit tired at times?
Decent vibes, britpop rock album, but nth special wonderwall is kinda underwhelming Dont look back in anger is a great classic. I also like hey now!
Mid
Seeing that this is the album that contains Wonderwall, I immediately expected another dud today, but I was pleasantly suprised! I guess I had never heard any other Oasis song besides Wonderwall. Even though the general theme is largely the same, mellow singing about love and stuff, I was suprised by the dynamic range of these songs, and some of them had pretty interesting melodies. Still not my cup of tea, but I wouldn't mind it in the background. ...except for Wonderwall though. I hate that song.
iwnejwndkwlwkwksm i don’t have the time to truly listen and enjoy this album because i’m not home home right now. my dad loves oasis, of course i grew up with this band, this album in particular. my thoughts? i guess you really need to be in the mood to be able to enjoy this i guess. i’d be pissed off if this was playing in the car if i was in a bad mood. overall, it’s good, but is it THAT good? totally subjective. to me, it’s just okay
Good album poorly recorded. Great songs
At least one of the tracks on this album was a radio hit when it was released, and maybe more. I viewed Oasis as a good band which made a big splash because of their lifestyle and clever marketing. Overall a good album but nothing that stands out to me. Three stars.
Like the Beatles, Oasis is currently having a major cultural renaissance in my peer group, so this is well-timed for me. Seeing 'Gary Glitter' as a writer for the first song was (yet another) 1001 albums "oh no" moment, but fear not, it was only the one song. I like the album cover. The songs themselves are fine, but I think Blur won the Britpop battle of my heart. Liam does sound remarkably John Lennon-y though, which is fun. Noel sounds more 90s to me. This has been my Oasanalysis. Highlights: 'Wonderwall', 'Don't Look Back in Anger', 'Champagne Supernova' (duh), 'Morning Glory' (they say the album name !)
I liked the instrumentals to this album, though the vocals were hit or miss. Wouldn't listen to it again on my own, but not too bad. Rating: ✦✦✦✧✧ Playlist Additions: Champagne Supernova - Shower Playlist Don't Look Back In Anger & Some Might Say - Experimental Playlist
It's fine, not that special
You can say they're lame all you want but you can't deny that this is catchy as hell. Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova are all such clear radio hits. It's a bit muted sounding at times but there's some talent and creativity here. Not my favourite. Makes sense to be on the list. I hope we don't get a ton of Oasis.
This production is very much lacking a dynamic sound. Wonderwall. I kind of like Don't Look Back in Anger, but still over compressed. I think I've always liked the title track, tho a little long. I'm not sure where I heard most of this album but I remember listening to Champagne Super Nova in the back of a 1970s van on a road trip to Quebec. I liked the vibe of the song. This stuff went on to become a bit of a joke and there are quite a few duds on here, but I get why it was big at the time.
4/1089 The start of the loudness wars. It's adequate. It was refreshing when Noel sang one of the songs instead of Liam.
I recognize the importance of this record, but I find the songs annoying.
Just not overwhelmed by these guys. The album‘s too long and the songs all start to sound the same.
Not my fav oasis album but definitely a staple sound of my childhood. Brings me back to car rides with my dad playing some might say off his iPod classic (with the touch wheel). She's Electric, Roll With It, Some Might Say, Morning Glory are my favorite tracks in no particular order.
"Don't Look Back in Anger", "Morning Glory", "Some Might Say" jakoś najbardziej zapadły mi w pamięć i to są imo świetne stand alone kawałki. Ale nie sądzę, bym miał jeszcze kiedyś ochotę na godzinę tego ciurkiem. Jak ktoś puści, to posłucham. 3,5/5, były momenty, kiedy rozważałem czwórkę, ale to by nie było szczere.
Still don't really understand all the hoop and holler over this band. They're okay, I guess.
No matter how many Wonderwall memes I hear, and despite this not being an album I revisit often, I do have a soft place in my heart for the nostalgia it evokes and consider it timeless. Don’t Look Back in Anger will always provide that nostalgic ache that I can’t describe, and She’s Electric will always make me want to dance.
this album is fine
Definitely, Maybe it's sacrilegious to say (What's the Story) Morning Glory is an easier pill to swallow for a non-fan, but I think it is. It'll never be one of my desert island albums but it's a more approachable oasis.
Reminds me of my childhood and my friend making a mixtape with Oasis on it.
I prefer the disc 2, but i am however not a fan of this album (or Oasis in general?). The singer’s vocals irritate me a little bit and the melody is imo all over the place, as are some lyrics that feel really forced and thoughtless. I liked some of the songs but not many
I wasn't super excited for this to be the first album and I wasn't paying a ton of attention, but there are a lot more songs on this album that I recognized than I realized. Forgot how much I like Don't Look Back in Anger.
Wonderwall album. Fine listen. Inoffensive rock.
I honestly think I just don’t care about britpop. The entire time listening to Champagne Supernova I could only think of Red Wine Supernova and the references Chappel Roan made to this song. This is my second Oasis album in the 13 albums I’ve rated and both times I just kinda went “eh” both times.
Really hit me on Album 100 with "anyway here's Wonderwall" lol. Its a fine album, good even. It is dwarfed and failed by its own hype though. Imagine someone telling you this was the next Beatles.
I SAID MAYBE
Yawn 🥱
The singles ("Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger") are great. The other songs varied between enjoyable and too loud. I think with a few more listens it could be a 4.
Oasis — what’s the story morning glory It’s decent. Very catchy lyrics and great guitar riffs. Wonderwall is just unreal. Timeless song. Good thing there’s more carrying this album than just that one song though. Don’t Look Back in Anger is solid too. It has a lot of heart of sleeve feelings. And kinda of reminds me of grunge but set in the UK. Same with Hey Now. Overall this album sets a great tone for a busy day walking around London. Has some elements of trip hop in Wonderwall. Some Might Say is very retail store l music. Which I guess back then wouldn’t really be played at Target but I can see it now. I think what they capture really well is just a positive, happy day, “it’ll get better” type of mentality. It’s uplifting 3/5 Nothing crazy but not awful Favorite songs: Wonderwall Don’t Look Back in Anger Cast No Shadow
It's pleasant but I never fully bought into Brit Pop. It's good but it doesn't make my heart move one way or another.
Pretty good. Several very familiar songs.
i gotta give em credit, starting with a wonderwall fakeout is very funny
Was still a fan of these at this point, and really liked this record, moreso than the debut. Roll With It was always shit though, Oasis at their most obviously Status Quo. Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Cast No Shadow still stand up however, ridiculously bad lyrics aside. To be fair I do forget this is actually good, given the absolute torrent of tripe that came after and for the next 30 years in various projects. The signs were there though, there's some shite here. Hey Now contains about 30 seconds worth listening to, Noel clearly riffed the rest and thought that'll do. And he was proved right, there's a lot of people out there who'll swallow that kind of effortless shit. I understand people like She's Electric, I'm not one of those people, and I also think it's badly sequenced and takes the shine off the better, more melancholy side B by being plonked in between two downbeat songs. I went to see them at Maine Road, with my love just starting to wane. I had a great day out and the Manics in support (the Manics and the Mancs - arf!) were extremely good, after that though, I was out, on to pastures new and far more interesting, and left Oasis in the dust. I hadn't noticed the One I Love riff nicked wholesale in the title track before. Haha, what a shameless magpie Noel is.
Fine. 90s rock. This would probably be more meaningful to me if I'd been in high school or college in the 90s.
rachel chinouriri is better
At the very least, if nothing else positive can be said about perhaps the peak of obnoxiousness in musical and human form, this album of theirs was actually pretty good.
Not sure why I haven’t been listening to Oasis constantly for the past several years but we move
Not bad, every song sounded the same. Okay for background music for work or driving.
Not entirely my thing, but I can see the appeal - and clearly deserves its place on this list
Some big hits
Recognizable 90’s rock album
I can completely hear how this is a solid album that captured its moment perfectly. Oasis took Brit pop and mixed in a little grunge, turned down the synths, added a hint of pub rock, and recorded a totally solid album that connected with millions of people. But I’m not one of them and I’m not totally sure why. I don’t dislike them at all and honestly think I should like them more, but for some reason they just don’t connect with me. Anyway, here’s Wonderwall (I hope I’m the first to make that reference 🤞🏻).
A few real bangers on this album! Not a whole albums worth.
