Not bad but boring for me

Not much of a fan.

I just finished playing the entire record. It sounded good while it was on, but it doesn't have anything that stands out. I don't remember a single song. I think it's 2.5 stars. The average rating so far is a little too high, so I round it down.

This wasn't one for me as not a Dylan fan and get the connections. Sadly I imagined myself at a concert watching them and falling asleep..I guess that's personal preferences. Can't knock the quality of the music but couldn't connect apart from one stand out song..the weight...

Best tracks - Chest Fever, probably due to its big fat organ sound! And This Wheel's on Fire - Siouxie and the Banshees did a great cover of it. They did the right thing ditching Bob the trampy old busker. Certainly not as bad as I thought it would be considering it is folk.

His voice isn’t smooth enough to make for good chill background music for me, but the music also doesn’t stand out enough to actively listen to.

twas ok, nothing stood out too much

Another The Band ok talent just not my thing

It's The Band again. Mostly ok album. I liked this better than their second album, but it's still not really my thing

Boring old people music. I come here solely for albums of German people smashing metal plates together, not this "country rock" stuff or whatever. "The Weight" in question is the weight of my fucking balls, get fucked idiot, more like Music From Big Ass. 2/5

Immediately you succumb to the album's laid-back rootsy feel - it has the perfect sound for the late 60s... ...and just about every song bores me to tears. It's not quite Clapton-boredom because I think the songs aren't remotely *that* bad, but just that there's no energy whatsoever to any of this - everyone plodding along and topping off at about 66 beats per minute...and that's only when they really feel like giving 'er. It feels like a giant weighted blanket was placed over the entire neighbourhood where they recorded this and the mics picked up the sound from the neighbouring highway, and yet weirdly it doesn't sound *bad* but that just contributes to the entire project's mood; i.e. it really is "of the era" but something/s about this album has just always prevented me from ever even getting through it. Vocals? It might be part of it (especially Rick Danko songs - Rick are you ok? are you about to cry? just cry already.). Essentially it's just that nothing about this record jumps out and excites me. I don't need a ripping guitar solo (necessarily...) but each song starts and that's kind of...the mood for the rest of that song. No twists/turns, no drum break, no weird whispery creepy interludes. I understand it is what it is (I hate that phrase - apologies to myself); it's not Sgt Pepper nor should it try to be. There could be *some* excitement or mystery in here and there is absolutely zero. I really don't know how to sum it up and maybe it's the sneaky laconic power of the album itself that's preventing me from making the effort to find the right words. One exception: I do like (most of) "Chest Fever" - that deep (Purple??) organ to kick it off is almost exactly the kind of different thing I wanted more of and even tho the song is uneven, adding the cool solo within really saves the entire record for me. I fully and completely understand why people like this album...it's historic, harkens back to a different time, is such an influence on so much (dull) American(a) music... yadayadyada I'm just tired and bored and after xxx years I'm done trying. Take a load off indeed - this is not my thing. 5/10 2 stars.

Considering this album had such an effect on Eric Clapton, George Harrison and many others, I do find it hard to hear the reason why. The self titled second album is light years better than this. Apart from The Weight, which is excellent, I really struggled to like this album, which is a great pity because I truly thought I’d love it.

After hearing The Weight, I expected better, pretty bad album, lead singer is pretty hard to listen to

The Band had a massive hit with "The Weight", but the rest of the album sounds like outtakes from assorted jam sessions.

The Weight really saved this album for me, as otherwise the other tracks had dissonant sounds in my ear as I took an afternoon walk. I felt the other songs were all trying to reach what The Weight had done: organized the various instruments and voices into something harmonious and anthemic, forever a song that needs to be sung along to. The other ten songs, while maybe not bad, certainly weren’t memorable in my once over, nor did any jump out as something worth an immediate repeat or inclusion on any Spotify playlist. Could this change on further listens? Absolutely…but with so many other albums to hear, I’m not in a rush to repeat this one anytime soon.

The audio equivalent of going to a barbeque then watching a baseball game. Not a compliment.

Chill, nice organ sound

Is this the most overrated album of all time? A couple of decent songs in amongst the dreck, all of them badly sung and poorly played.

I have yet to find a Southern Rock album that has impressed me front to back. Maybe it's just me. Nothing on this album sticks out to me, and there's really nothing that I wish to revisit on it either.

I don’t like the band

Some better songs, but overall this ain't it for me

I have started this album three times and can’t get into it. Spotify thinks I love it. Like everything else, extremely well produced, but nothing standing out to me

Me aburro

Cannot really remember anything from this album despite only listening yesterday. 60s that was very uninspiring

I almost wish i liked it more. It sounds like a jam session between a group of friends, and that's fine. Don't expect much cohesion or memorable songs.

Two OK songs. Why is "the band" so revered?

A couple good songs, more than a few trash Dylan-like songs

This is another artist I feel like I’m told I should like often. Problem is, I just don’t. I’ve tried, Lord Jebus help me I’ve tried. It’s all just too ‘meh’. I Shall Be Released was the highlight for sure, but I’m not sure if that’s just because that’s what I was thinking by the time it came on.

Me costó terminar este disco. Cuando veo Country es inmediatamente una miserable estrella, porque el country gringo es EL género más sobrevalorado de la historia musical. En algo se salva, y es cuando deja entrar blues y otros géneros.

It’s ok Really like The Weight but the rest kind of went past without really landing

Didn’t really enjoy as much

You only need like, what, one chorus and verse to write a 5-minute song, right?

J'ai écouté deux fois, sans vraiment y prêter attention. Je ne doute pas de la qualité des musiciens et de leurs compositions, mais ça ne me parlait pas personnellement.

ugh 1968. It's going to sound like *that*, isn't it. lol yep, a minute in and of course it fucking does. End update: this was a lot slower and more boring than expected. I had low hopes for it anyway, so eh. Recognised 1 song. 2/5.

I’ve heard of The Band, but I’m not sure I’ve ever actually heard them. It’s a strangely vague name, that even in the age before Google must have been a difficult band to find much out about. Songs I already knew: none Favourites: The Weight There was nothing exactly wrong or bad with this album. Everything they did, they did proficiently. However, nothing really clicked with me to the point where I’d say I enjoyed it. I can appreciate the sound of it, but I can’t see myself ever seeking this album out again. Even immediately after listening to it, no hummable melodies have latched into my head - I couldn’t even tell how how the last song went. Overall, a decent album, but it’s just not to my taste.

not too interested in this

I was digging the first couple of songs but with exception of a few songs in the middle, it really fell off for me.

It was ok, didn't really connect with it tbh

Ei jäänyt mitään mieleen. Tasapaksu. Kuitenkaan en tahtoisi antaa vain yhtä tähteä, koska en inhonnut. Toinen tähti siis etukäteen siitä, että todennäköisesti avautuisi paremmin toisella kuuntelulla, muttei olisi tajunnanräjäyttävä.

Onpa laahaavaa musiikkia, melkein mitään ei jää mieleen. Kuulen biisinkirjoituksessa hyvääkin, ja uskon, että joistain biiseistä voisi tehdä oikein osuvat versiot (huom. The Weight), mutta tällaisenaan vaikutelma on tunkkainen.

Big Pink is what I call my willy. It doesn't make music though. So I guess The Band's Big Pink has me beat. Two pumps for these chumps. ✊✊

Nice music but a bit bland overall. I liked The Weight and I shall be Released but the rest I found kind of dull.

i feel like these dudes probably thought the most clever thing anyone's ever done was to name their band "the band"

I can never get this band. Somehow nothing they sing about resonates with me. Cover art 1/5 I rarely like naive art

Nah, no está mal, pero mñe. 2.5-

One of those albums that made me grateful I wasn’t alive in the 60s

Not for me. Oldest sounding band forever, can’t believe they were young when recording.

A pleasant listen. I dunno if I would seek it out but I did enjoy it. Another old school folk-like group

An unintentional caricature of c. 1968 music. No thanks.

There were a couple of really interesting songs (The Weight and Chest Fever to be specific), but a lot of it was dribble which I found annoying

Sounds like something in a commercial from a brand that wants to make you think it’s tuned in with nature, or tryna sell beer to the 45-60 year old demographic

Did I hear an accordion??

It's a decent album with one great song in The Weight. The rest doesn't stand out much.

In places here and there it sounds like music that I would normally enjoy from this era. And yet it never reached the point where I was fully into it. Not very catchy or enjoyable to listen to as a whole. I recognized the song The Weight and even that song id probably only give a 3/5. Slightly disappointed but I will still give their other albums a listen.

one good song

Det sägs att The Band är mycket bättre själva än med Bob Dylan. Bättre? Ja, sure. Mycket? Nej, det tycker jag inte. Det e helt ok, och The Weight ikonisk. Men annars är det ganska mjäkigt.

unremarkable! "the weight" is such a classic song, and i can't help but love it. that song saves the album. the rest of the album certainly isn't bad, but it isn't memorable. nice, easy listening in the background but that's about it.

It's pretty easy going music, nothing that blew me away. I do enjoy some of it, but I don't really care for music in this genre.

Pretty hard to say if I didn't like it because it's just almost the same country/folk 60's that flood this list so much or if I didn't like it because it sounds exactly like a B-side of Bob Dylan's band and nothing more, but I didn't like it so much.

Best Song: I Shall Be Released. Sounds almost like the Bee-Gees here. Nice falsettos backed by a good military-style snare. Worst Song: In A Station. Ponderously slow and self-indulgent. Overall: Although not bad, I just wonder who gets excited about music like this? It's not particularly thoughtful or evocative, nor does it seem to have an ounce of passion. This album came out a year before Led Zeppelin 1. Given that context, I can't understand how this music persevered. Everything about them, down to the name, feels like a placeholder.

at this remove, really just _a_ band

The film Easy Rider is 1 hour 35 mins and it's great. It captures the late 60's and the Dirty Fuckin' Hippies in a way no other film could. Easy Rider is about two DFH's on motorcycles 'out to find America' after a big score. The tales about Hopper and Fonda gettin' all fucked-up, just rolling film to capture time are legend. A majority of the film was improv and edited together. It's a must-see, even for today. 'The Weight', a song from this album, was used in the film. The album, 'Music from Big Pink' fails to convey the same feeling of relaxed freedom. It does seem improved, but the result seems haphazard, directionless and foggy. If Easy Rider is like the acid trip, then this album is like the following morning. Listening to this, I'm filled with feelings of constraint, dread, sadness and fear... Fear that it'll stay with me longer than 1hr 35mins.

Why does this sound like country?

A few knowns

Nicht ganz unerträglich, aber belanglos.

The Band als naam hebben klinkt als DE band die je niet mag missen, maar dat mag best. Sterker nog, maar je mag ze missen en vergeten.

Didn't do much for me

Look out! Will everyone PLEASE stop standing in the middle of the road, it's really not safe. What's that? No, I don't care that you used to be Bob Dylan's backing band, this constant flow of traffic over all lanes at once is a disaster. You British bands, just keep to the left and everyone else stay to the right and that way we'll have no troubles.

pretty meh has the one song 2.5

Pretty boring. The Weight is good but the rest is bland

Sounds like my dad!

Son bir iki sarki kurtaramiyor albumu malsf

Nothing special

Eh. "The Weight" was the only song I recognized, and every other song sounded a lot like it. Pass.

Ёбаный в рот, в какой-нибудь Sunshine of Your Love больше жизни, таланта и актуальности, чем во всём творчестве The Band, с которым я знаком. Всё же если попытаться говорить хоть как-то объективно, альбом не так ужасен сам по себе. Отдельные мотивы, хуки приятно ложатся на слух: напевы в In A Station, целиком The Weight. Но как часть 1001, как условная часть мирового музыкального наследия альбом не выдерживает критики.

Too much Boomer

2 - not for me but doesn't hurt my ears. 3 - decent, could stick on again. based on this rating a 2 Chest Fever is a standout but the rest is grand

Basically a one hit wonder but from 1968 and probably only got big recently.

Not for me

This nearly hit for me, but not quite. I'd give another listen, but not now. Favorite song: tears of rage

A bit boring, one or two classics in there.

too much jam in this band

Too oldie for me...

The Weight is a classic. Lots of elements that Poi Dog uses. Long Distance Operator sounds like it was written to satisfy contractual obligations.

It was alright

Lots of rock organ, pretty peak 60s ballad rock, songs named after women, dual dude vocals

Tiene una rola muy buena.

It’s fine. The Weight is the star, but the rest of the album is pure 60’s hippie rock. Can’t hate or love it.

Naja nicht so meins. Abmischung ist blöd Hab heute Lina ne 30 min Audio geschickt

don't feel any emotion from the music personally, feels like elevator music rather than energetic

Noope, not for me. Somewhere between 1 and 2 stars. Since I don't actively dislike it and am feeling chipper this morning, I'm leaning toward 2.

Same reaction as the last The Band album I listened to. It's fine. I understand why people like this, but this is not for me. The Weight is a great song, but it sags a bit when placed in the middle of a bunch of songs that sound a lot like it, but aren't as good. This is like the mopey version of the Grateful Dead, and I don't really care for the normal version of the Grateful Dead. There were times when I felt like I was starting to enjoy this album, but kept finding ways to wear out its welcome. At 55 minutes in I was starting to do the math in my head for how long it would take to finish. Still 16 goddamn minutes left. 2/5

I knew I wasn't going to like this but damn, it's a 1 star album for me! It's so fucking forgettable even the big hit sucks fucking rocks. The only glimmer of hope was the organ riff in Chest Fever... Alright you pussies let's rock! But nope they had to fuckle it up with that weak ass chorus and a bridge that literally sounds like the little bits of wind left in a fart that finally fully escapes.

Just a bit dull

Yeah, not a fan of this. It's ok, but there are so many better records of the era. Just feels generic.

too boring for my like

Make the boomering end

The best thing about listening to this album is; I’ll never have to listen to an album by the band again, it’s absolute wank. Gonna upset some people now but, if you’ve given this album 5 stars you need to get from under the rock your living beneath and broaden your listening. Thank me later

This is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

More boring dad rock

Blue rock done bad. I had a pretty good feeling with the opening track, but as the album goes on, music feels increasingly rough and unpleasant to a point where it is irritating actually. The instruments, the use of disharmony are unfortunate, and even the singing offers nothing to rate this higher than 1, catastrophe.

I cant quite put my finger on why I dont like it but I don't.

(2) give me “the comet is coming” any day over this jangling lumbarjack sing along.

I’ve never liked this band. Reading the reviews of it here and seeing how many people love this band and record, there’s something I’m missing, because I just find this bland and forgettable. Maybe the most redeeming thing about it for me is that Bob Dylan isn’t on it, because I don’t like him either.

Most songs are forgettable to me. Some good, but some boring. Overall mood is downtempo and somber. Chest Fever probably the best song on here

Pretty much everything I detest packaged in one single album - toothless soft rock inspired by the Dylan School of Whiny Singing ; a voice so shrill I'd rather listen to cats in heat for 60 minutes ; pseudo-country tunes for urban hipsters ; mushy sentimentality and long soggy ballads so dull I could fall asleep. I was crying tears of boredom after the first couple of songs, and I had to painfully bite my lips to keep listening. Even the band's name is cringey. Hard pass. 1/10

Really groovy, but just too slow for me I think. Fav song is ‘Caledonia Mission’.

what are we moaning about? this sucks Would I listen again: happily not Deserves to be on this list: nope 1.4

Wow a band called The Band, how meta.

Band that has lasted through the years. Some decent music.

“The weight” aside I found this pretty tedious to get through though there were a few other bits here and there

I really, really dislike this. Smarmy, whining folky tunes, with a vocalist that loves to hear himself sing.

Sounds like other bands from that era but less good.

1 out of 5 Terrible. The worst band of the 70s. Even disco was better.

The Weight is a track from Easy Rider. Saw it at the local cinema, big spliff, toking away. It was that sort of film.

Equison

Maybe they help Dylan turn from pure folk, but on their own they are boring.

Idt i want to listen to music anymore

I did not like this album at all. While I agree that "The Weight" is an essential song, especially if you are talking about essential songs from the 1960s, but as an essential album I disagree that it should even be on this list. The singing is all over the place and the guitarist clearly had moments of clarity but seemed to check out for a majority of the songs.

Nope. Truly awful. Ok, ok, The Weight is a classic and tolerable but the rest made me wish I was listening to Neil Young instead (and I’ve endured root canals with more alacrity than listening Neil Young).

cba / 5 Bob Dylan is mentioned 15x (!) times in the wiki article. Each mention of him = -0.3 stars. Why? Because Dylan's music sucks and once you've heard one of his songs, you've heard pretty much all of them. I know that ignoring an entire album that was made by an established band just for that isn't fair, but this world isn't fair, so what do you expect? Might get back to this when I really feel like it, but not today.

I didn't really like it.

Like the pile of Dylan albums isn’t enough for this list. Obviously, the absence of his caterwauling is an improvement, but the music isn’t any good either.

I'm not sure if it was the tempo, or the instrumentation, or the vocals, or all of the above, but this felt actively lazy to me. Like it was trying to be boring on purpose. Sorry, but "The Weight" isn't strong enough to carry the... er... weight... of the rest of this wallpaper paste.

This album did nothing to change my thoughts on The Band. What shit.

I'm not too fussed. Not my kinda thing.

"Tears of Rage" is far and away the best The Band song. The rest of this album, including "The Weight" is everything I hate about the band. I honestly thought, based on the strength of that first track that this would be the album that made me reconsider The Band. NOPE. CONGRATS ON YOUR ONLY GOOD SONG.

Music From Big Pink is often hailed as a landmark in roots rock, but for all its historical importance, it can feel meandering and uneven. The Band’s blend of Americana, folk, and country aims for authenticity, yet many tracks come off as sluggish and murky rather than soulful. Songs like “The Weight” stand out, but the rest of the album struggles to maintain momentum or emotional clarity. While it’s easy to respect its influence, Music From Big Pink lacks the energy and cohesion to make it a compelling listen today.

I was ok with this until hours later i still had the weight stuck in my head

There are no words in the English vocabulary to express how much I fucking hate country.

Not my vibe.

depressing there is a second album from these Canadian cosplayers...

found it a bit dull

I was not familiar with either the artist or the album, but listening to these songs is a one-time event Nothing for me here

i was shook when i knew the weight song but i never really liked it.... i um! this was an album for sure! bless

Proper wank generic 60s dad rock for knobs

Don’t get it. Never have. Can’t stand Robbie Robertson’s voice. Etc.

Remember that scene from The Big Lebowski where The Dude says to the taxi driver "Come on, man. I had a rough night and I hate the f***in' Eagles, man!"... That's what I feel like every time someone suggests The Band.

The Band. Just a band. If you compare the version here of Long Black Veil with the hearftfelt Johnny Cash version, for example, it highlights how turgid and plodding this is. They sound like they are struggling through this album, so it's no wonder I did too.

Really not my thing, as much as I love 60s music

Favorites: The Weight

Not really a fan of this but didn't dislike it as much as the other one of theirs I got on this a few months ago. This time, when reading about it, I discovered that they were Bob Dylan's backing band right before recording and releasing this album and that makes so much sense. I like The Weight but I like others versions I've heard better. I'd also heard other versions of I Shall Be Released and meh. I won't listen to this again. Really cool art though.

Yawn .... 3/10

Yeah, I think The Band should stick with Dylan.

So it’s Bob Dylan, without the only good thing going for Bob Dylan Hillbilly ass music Shit

Not for me.

What is this doing here. The songs I recognised have been done better by others, overall a fairly rubbish album.

Incredibly boring country rock. Dr Hook came along a couple of years later and did it so much better.

2/10 not a fan

Niet echt geluisterd, niet mijn ding

Seriously, "The Band" again? And with this album?? Wow, I don't get it! And I don't like it! I don't need to listen to it a second time to maybe discover something I like. It sends a chill down my spine. THIS CAN GO!

shocked by how bad this was. some of the worst vocals i have ever heard. started a 3. then was a 2. Rage 1 by the end.

This album has some perfectly mediocre songs, and plenty of awful singing. Dylan taught them well.

Personalmente no es pa’ mi but shoutout to them niggas for being in the Canadian hall of fame. That’s motion!!!!

I'm sorry, I know people enjoy this band, but there is nothing in this album for me. I had to skip part of a song for the first time on this 1,001 album journey. Why do they sound so whiny all the time? Canada, you can do better.

The soundtrack to a MAGA party.

Not for me

I didn’t get it

No great songs, nothing special. One star because the cover looks nice.

no me pareció malo, pero no me transmitió nada la verdad.

one of the most boring albums i've ever heard in my life 🥱😴 17/100 ⭐️

First song did not grab me so I just moved on

1. rage - 1 2. kingdom - 1 3. ztation - 1 4. mizzion - 1 5. uueight - 1.5 6. talk - 1 7. veil - 1 8. fever - 1 9. zuzie - 1.5 10. fire - 1 11. releazed - 1.5

This was a tough one. I had a hard time making it through this album, and I knew I would when I heard that first song. I was familiar with The Weight, but that's it. I liked Chest Fever, but that's about it. I like This Wheel's on Fire better on AbFab. I know people love this band/album but I just don't understand what they hear in them/it.

Nothing stands out to me. Even the songs I am familiar with are quite boring. This project is making it clear that I prefer experimental things, even if they end up being bad. This Wheel's on Fire is comically bad. I Shall Be Released has an almost silly falsetto voice. Really unimpressed with this album.

I've never heard of The Band. Writing this during the first song, a 5+ minute whine-fest, I wish I'd still never heard of them. Through the third song, this is awful. The vocalist is very bad. I understand why I've never heard of them. OK, song 5, The Weight. I've heard this song. I think it's just one of those songs that has been in movies or something. I don't know, I just know it sounds familiar. I'm through song 8. I am definitely considering some of my life choices. Mistakes were made. OK. Wow. That was painful. 1 star. There is nothing here for me.

Like I said when I reviewed the other Band album on this list, although you cannot doubt their musical ability, I just cannot stand this style of music at all. They were a big thing in my youth but in those days my head was full of Prog Rock and the stuff The Band were producing was pole opposite. Happy to give it a more considered listen nowerdays but it still is a big miss from me. 1.5/5 19/7/24

Boring. Trite. Always thought The Band was overhyped. Even with Dylan involved, I find it so difficult to listen to this. Andre can tell you about the low-key rage I hit when a cover band goes into The Weight.

Really couldn't connect with this.

Not my kind of music

Found this pretty non-descript and quite boring. Some nice piano melodies but I can’t remember much else about it.

it sucked

Boomer jazz. Can't deal.

I thought I would like this album but couldn't weight for it to end. Far to sobby and slowed down folkie for my liking. When it was over, I felt a weight had been lifted. One song on here and the rest just weigh it down.

Gut gemacht, aber nicht mein persönlicher Musikgeschmack

Gospel bof

I like the album cover.

Especially on a Monday morning, this was quite a slog to get through.

Tears of Rage - vocals are whiny, slower tempo but not in a way I would come back to and listen, it's also too long, we'll see how much I like this album lol To Kingdom Come - I feel like I got transported to the late 60s and not in a fun way In A Station - this is beyond boring, there's no substance - why is this a must listen? Caledonia Mission - Meh, it's at least a little more upbeat sounding, but still somehow slow? WHY? The Weight - This will prob be the only one I know, it's a classic but also just doesn't do it for me We Can Talk - No Long Black Veil - ..... meh Chest Fever - this isn't bad, but still not my style Lonesome Suzie - this is the most boring shit I have ever heard, this is painful The Wheels On Fire - also meh I Shall Be Released - honestly only thing going for it is that I know the album is almost over Overall I'd never seek this out again. Too boring, slow, folk rock with little interesting substance to make it worth listening to.

Not for me

"Listening to The Band is like contemplating old sepia pictures of America:" yeah I wouldn't choose to spend my day off doing that, either I'm not going to act like I have a critique of it on any merits it's fine I just don't like it

Trust underpins all human relationships. We trust family to have our backs, we trust chefs to not poison us, we trust shopkeepers to not fleece us. We pick up on subtle cues when we come across those who might not seem quite as they are: a gripped hand, a twitchy gaze, a too sincere tone. Our hackles are fallible though; many a friendly chump can end up unfairly overlooked. But I do not like the look of The Band's jib. The songs are overwrought, the singing overdramatic, the tempo troppo lento. The emotions displayed feel as original as the band's name. A pervasive sense of faux-ness obscures my judgement of them. But maybe those emotions are true to The Band. Maybe the songs do need to be as wrought, the singing as dramatic, the tempo so lento. "What else can we do?" plead The Band at the end of Lonesome Suzie. "I do not know," I answer rhetorically, as I slowly walk away, collars popped, throwing backward glances.

More like The Bland. Music from Big Stink

You’d need to be in the right mood to listen to this. If you ever see me in that mood, please shoot me. Just awful. Never heard of this before and now I hope I can quickly unhear it.

This was without a doubt one of the hardest albums to get through so far. There's something about it that was making me irrationally angry.

To Kingdom Come borderline unlistenable. By track 4 I'm trying to white knuckle my way through the rest of this. Sorry, couldn't do it. Bailed at track 7.

Meh. No.

It was eh. Nothing memorable.

I wanted to like this more with songs like The Weight and Long Black Veil, but I was just bored. Couldn’t get past the halfway point.

Sesame Street's musical rejects?

BORING.

Ugh. I struggled with this. There is an organ and all the singing sounds whiny. The Weight is the song that is most well known and even with that it needed to end. At times it felt like Randy Newman was singing. It is probably better than a one but I will round down.

The Band isn't my thing sadly.

Not for me

Slow, whiny, boring

Music for old drunk people to sing together. From another time and place that I can't really relate to.

Possibly just not in the mood but did not get on with this at all - disjointed and quirky in a bad way.

Je connaissais seulement The Weight. Cette pièce est bien, mais je ne suis vraiment pas fan du style. J’ai fini l’album de peine et de misère.

Whiny Canadian caterwauling. Pretty dreadful.

Not really my cup of tea. I don't find the songs to be anything special

Very slow, boring to listen to. The fact this is labeled “rock” says volumes about the decade

Hard to believe this is from 1968. Not because it's ahead of its time... but because it sounds like where boomer music went to die after many decades of ossification. It's pleasant enough in the background, like the closing credit music to a passable family film. But good lord it's the most boring album I've heard for a long while. "The Weight" is a song I've heard previously, and that's easily the highlight to the album. In fact, it's the only track where anything interesting or compelling happens. The rest feels like tired old country-rock tropes played with muscle memory alone. Most of the lyrics have a slight "olde worlde" air with some cliches about the rambling outlaw figure. Zzzzzzzz. 1*

I didn't enjoy this album at all. Couldn't wait for it to be over. All the tracks seemed to be the same sound and very vanilla/boring.

Not very interesting.

Nice. I'm semi-familiar, but it's nice to heqr the tracks I'm not familiar with. Classic American Rock. Talented musicians. I'll give it a 7.5 .
