Reviews (page 6 of 7)
Nice experience, but nothing too powerful for me.
OG punk, enjoyed it and know its influential but didn't quite like any individual tracks enough to give it a 4.3/5
Would I listen again? Probably, yeah.
But a good 3
I've had a few albums like this one so far on here. It feels like I should really be into this album and band. But I don't know it sorta misses the mark, I absolutely want to like it more than I do. It's not bad, it's fairly solid. Feels very Tony Hawk soundtrack to me which is kinda cool I guess.
Angry Gen X white guy yelling. In 1990 this is too late to be authentic punk I guess? After wikipedia-ing it this is "post-hardcore." Repeater sounds like pissed off Modest Mouse. I'm sure this was an influence on them. Not as into the more (what I consider) punk tracks like Greed... I like the instrumental tracks. The songs are a little repetitive as I work through it. Strong start that kind of devolves into fodder for angry suburban white kids. Probably would not listen to any of this again. 👍
Some cracking songs but I think whilst the album was influential and all that, its not as 'good' as I'd like. A high 3 in the end.
Gnarly… it had its moments but ultimately fell slightly flat for me. Just can’t buy the angst!
Dense
It's not bad, but it's exhausting.
I respect it for what it’s inspired, but can’t really get through it.
Blueprint
Grew on me as I went through it. Probably would have liked it when I was 12 in the mid 90s and listening to a lot of Offspring. Now I find it just ok.
Wanted to but couldn’t
I kept wanting to get more into it than I could. There's a lot about punk and post-punk that I like, but the vocal style of a lot of punk singers doesn't quite work for me.
That whole cutting off the song abruptly thing was cute at first but got ol-
I was not familiar with this band or its songs. Pretty good album.
Haven't heard this album all the way through before, but it is worth a few more listens for sure.
-seems like fairly standard punk rock...nothing standing out too much
Wouldn't listen to it again as it isn't really my style but can hear lots of elements of bands I like now in there so I can appreciate that it was likely a progenitor for lots of them
I had heard the name Fugazi before, but had no clue what genre of music they were. This record was alright, but pretty average in my opinion. Enjoyed the listen, but won’t ever listen to it again most likely.
hm a lil to edge lord for me however it makes me wanna fight the man so yk
Little too much drone influence, but I liked a few songs.
Decent late 80's/early 90's Punk. Reminds me of At the Drive In.
Grungy
Enjoyable in parts but largely a bit flat.
I was never super big on Fugazi but I think about a lot of close friends and it's clear how big of an impact this band had on them.
What a great racket. Never heard em before and enjoyed it. Will listen again on the phones but enjoyed. 6.2/10
Never heard of this band. It doesn't initially sound like I will like it but I'm a sucker for a cross over music styles. They sound likea mix between The Misfits and The beastie boys. They also bring in some heavy rock sounds from the 70's. These dudes rock hard...remind me of zeppelin.
So this is alternative rock, eh? More like alternative to rock, right guys? But seriously, this is okay
No idea it was from 1990. I can see why people dig it, like a precursor to the Modest mouse style groups. Unfortunately I haven't exactly been in that mood since. Eh.
Although this should be in my wheelhouse it was meh.
Had only heard ‘Waiting Room’ before from a different album. Bass guitar seems to drive the whole album. Can feel the influence roll onto some bands like nirvana/offspring etc.
Also fine, not great, didn't hate it
Nothing particularly exciting
Nice 90s nostalgia goin on there
good and punky
Okay I’ve heard better from Fugazi
Always thought of them as more of a punk band and was pleasantly surprised.
good band sound but the singing is simply bad
Early 90s metal-punk-grunge vibe. Never really listened to Fugazi outside of that one song.
Fugazi's a band whose albums I have tough time getting into, even if they have great individual songs on them. That said, this is pretty good, def recommended if you're into punk at all.
Good but I got the idea
Little bit good
This album is supposed to be angry, but it didn't make me feel anything. Mostly unremarkable. Best track: Brendan 1
Fun embarrassing fact: when I was 6 years old I thought the Fugees and Fugazi were the same artist. Anyway, musically I guess enjoyed it enough. The energy was seeping through the songs. But nothing stood out to me. Lyrically, I'm pretty ambivalent. Not sure if I'd be enthusiastic for a re-listen. It was fine.
I've heard a lot about Fugazi but never bothered to check them out. I know they're punkish underground darlings (with that Melvins/Kyuss/Clutch/etc crowd), and I think I've avoided them because I'm worried I'll actually like it. haha. I'm betting it'll either be frustratingly good, or inaccessible shit. And lol yeah, it's not too bad. A couple of tracks here could definitely make my "alternative stuff" playlist. It's kinda noisy and dumb in places, but there's enough catchiness elsewhere to offset it. There's an 80s NYHC vibe going on here and there, which I wasn't expecting. Some of it has an artsy feel, like the Black Flag albums where Rollins took over (I guess this is what the hipsters love about them). And there are a lot of similarities to early Offspring? Like first 3 albums or so, definitely not Ixnay onwards, but wasn't expecting that either. But somehow the volume changes wildly between songs. Whoever mixed this did a pretty bad job. 3/5.
The instruments here, both what's been written for them and how they're played, are close to perfect for a hard rock album. The bass, guitar, and drums all work together as one unit and make some fantastic music together. In this respect, the album is a 4/5. The vocals are another story. Sometimes they're mediocre, other times they're awful. They sound like some of the parody bands from the skit show Portlandia. They sorta ruin the album for me. Lyrics fare a little better. Some are alright, and some are lame. Vocals have a range of 1 to 3 out of 5 and lyrics a range of 1 to 4 out of 5. Cool album and worth a listen. But man, those vocals.
1,5
It's got this raw hardcore sound that, while showing the passion of the band, doesn't really go anywhere. The album really doesn't sync well with my ears; maybe it's the riffs or his voice. I'm not sure.
Repeater Fugazi 1990 Genres: Rock Styles: Alternative Rock, Noise Rock, Post Hardcore, Post Punk, Indie Rock 1. -TOTAL = ★★⯨☆☆ (2,64)
It was cool with some of its aggressive lyrics and instrumentals, but this one really didn't land well with me. I'd probably give it a 2.5 if possible - I found myself not liking this more than liking it, so I'll go with a 2.
Post-punk, post-hardcore, whatever it is, it’s not my style.
100% not my taste. Another album that I almost didn’t finish
cool but wouldn't listen again
Ok
Nope
Seems like a good cover band, but not an album I liked.
I do like a good singalong and this wasn't it 😐
Like foo fighters, but worse.
Tough to follow zeppelin
..
This was a miss for me mostly. Post-hardcore is doing a lot of work that I don’t really care for. While the guitar and rhythms works well together, it felt fast, angry, and aimless. I didn’t enjoy it that much and it mostly was unobtrusive.
It's sound overload for me.
Fugazi = Fugly
Nope, nothing really stood out to me with this one.
Noisy, but not my kind of noisy.
I listed first two and not really enjoyed personally but next time try all.
Punky, not really for me.
not my cup of tea, im sure there are lots of people out there who love this but its not me
bleh
Most of the album sounded the same to me. At the beginning, I was wondering how many minutes the first song was because it was so long, but then I realized I was actually on the third song?? Anyways among all the very similar sounding songs, Merchandise and Shut the Door got my attention. Merchandise sounds the most different from everything else and Shut the Door had an awesome base line but I'm not a fan of the lyrics. Actually, I don't really know if I like any of the lyrics in the entire album but who am I to comment on lyrics when I'm a vibe listener.
Ok in places
Some of the music was actually good but I really didn’t like the vocals. 4/10
Much better when they keep their mouths shut but unfortunately that’s not the case for most of these songs ;-)
Well I’ve earned some respect for this band from reading the other reviews about $5 concerts but I unfortunately can’t respect them for their music
Although called Repeater, I can guarantee I won't be repeating this album. Once was enough.
I get that this might be historically important to punk and the band, but it was one big haze of anger all the way through.
Aright, but gets a bit repetitive after a bit, which is ironic (or not?) because of the album's title.
love fugazi but not a fan of this album
It’s fine
4/10… noise rock / post punk / *1990
The instrumentals on this album are good. They’re really high energy and get you hyped. The lyrics get a bit repetitive and leave a little to be desired. It’s a fun listen and has a place for when you’re trying to hype people up but other than that I wouldn’t throw this on.
Too noisy for me
Don’t know why this is called “hardcore”. It’s very emotional and mostly softer than what I think of when I hear “hardcore”.
It was alright, wasnt very well produced but that is probably intended. The singing was good and the lyrics, but the overall product just was not it. There was a few songs I enjoyed like 'Repeater' and 'Shut the Door' but overall was not very enjoyable. 5/10
Again, not my speed, but really not as bad as I thought it would be based on the descriptors.
These guys have got 1.3 million listeners per month on Spotifiy and I have never heard of them. After listening to this album, I don't think I am going to be another regular listener. It's not awful and I now have the vocabulary to describe this as post-punk, pre-grunge hardcore, but there's still not anything there that I like. every song sounds the same to me and I can't dance or even nod along to any of them.
Mostly uninterested by this area of music, and this album doesn't do an awful lot to change that for me.
The nicest thing I can say is "not for me."
Havent listened
not great, noisy, not interesting
Where is the line between punk and metal played poorly?
A bit too loud, as I do like my Punk, but didn’t really get into it, played a few more of their songs off other albums, but still not quite there for me
As a solid GenX'er, you'd think I'd enjoy the hell out of this. Not so much.
2 - not for me
Not for me
Not a ton to say about the substance and individual songs of this record, but I did have a realization about two thirds of the way through listening. I think I finally can differentiate the ethos and aesthetics of British punk vs American punk (or post punk, in this case?). Anyways, wasn’t crazy for this one, may not ever be crazy for most things from this time and genre, but I feel it’s angry disposition and feel it’s rage. Strong 2/5
1. Ok, intro direct dans le vif!! Ça rockkkk 2. Créatif, cool! 3. morceau instrumental un peu osef 4. Bon! 5. Bon bon bon 13. Instrumental, bien, drums good 14.
First songs were decent, then I got tired of it. Or so I thought. Compared the last 3 songs to the first one, the difference is huge
This is kind of generic for the genre.
The music is not bad. Several songs do sound very similar. I am not a fan of the vocalist. Sounds like he was recruited off the street. A bad street. A street where no one knows how to sing.
Not very good
Not my cup of tea.
It’s noisy, but that’s fine—it’s punk rock. I understand the whole DIY ethos, but I still wonder if it could have been better resolved. Maybe there’s too much certainty, too much confidence, which ends up sounding pretentious without fully delivering.
Not a fan.
Not my cuppa tea
Started off well but as the album went on it just felt like a lot of noise towards the end.
Quite boring actually, even listened to the extra three songs…
Some interesting songs but let down by a mediocre vocalist
Fugazi is a vaguely familiar name, though I could be mistaken. Whatever genre they belong to is up in the air, however. The album cover is giving me rock vibes, but the hardcore kind that wasn't traditional with rock in the 90s. Is this gonna be a grunge album? Oh, hey. Post-hardcore. The Dismemberment Plan is one of my all-time favourite bands, though that's about as far as my appreciation for this genre goes. Even then, my main appreciation for the D-Plan comes from their fantastic lyrical wit, so I might as well not be a fan of the genre at all. This doesn't do much to win me over, truth be told. The bassy, grungy sound is superficially pleasing, though there isn't much in here which really piques my interest. The title track has a neat, bassy sound. I like when the lead guitars duck into the track, too. I like the guitar strumming on "Two Beats Off". "Shut the Door" is a solid closer. I, again, like the punchy guitars. Book time. A transitionary period within the band's sound and identity, though that's about it. Wikipedia reveals that this album is a "landmark of rock music", moved half a million units, predated many popular rock acts from the 90s and has a respectable critical reception. Seems like good enough reasons to me. I cosign this inclusion.
Repeater - Fugazi It’s not that bad, it just didn’t click for me. It is loud, nice live instrumentation, nothing crazy or innovating. I don’t even remember the names of the songs. They’re not great vocalists either, tbh. The name of the album indicates that you’re going to listen again, but it’s not the case here. At all!!! It’s just sad. 2.3/10. Nice album cover tho.
Post-hardcore really isn't my bag
The idea of Fugazi is something I can get behind. Independent punk ethos, fans first attitude (cheap shows), general solid-dude energy. As a teen I heard all of this, and I knew of Ian MacKaye from Minor Threat (A band I enjoyed) So I went out and but Repeater by Fugazi. I was instantly disappointed. The music did nothing for me. The punk energy was drained for post-hardcore dirge. A dirge that highlighted the poor yell-singing that was all over it. I just couldn't get into it. It wasn't for me, and as much as I respect the Fugazi ethos, I never became a fan. So it goes. A few years later, after another failed attempt to get into Fugazi I posted on Social Media that Fugai sucked. A friend of mine then decided to argue with me that because they were punk (they're not really) of course they sucked, because sucking was the point of punk. (his words not mine) I tried to say something along the lines of: a) they aren't punk. b) punk is not just playing instruments bad. c) it's not that I thought Fugazi didn't know how to play or were actively being "bad" for whatever reason. But my man just kept pushing this point of them being punk and therefore are inherently bad. It just really drove me bonkers. He was patronizing me by giving his ill-defined meaning of punk. He was missing my point. And being an ass about the whole thing. All that to say that after giving it another listen today I can say, I still don't like Fugazi music. But they are fine at what they do. It's just not for me.
Eh not for me
Some fair tracks. Too much screaming. Just an OK album for me.
Did not like, angry screaming young man.
I’m glad to know why they are so famous. Post hardcore isn’t for me but this is a great example of it for sur
There's a lot of noise here. And not all of it good. I struggle with the US interpretation of punk, post-punk. It doesn't speak to me. This sounds more metal than the street talk of UK punk.
Sure, this rocks. But is it any good? Not really. Too noisy for my taste. Rounding down from 2.5
This album is the definition of Fugazi.
ok, not really my vibe, quite repetitive
Same
So so
90s neo punk. OK.
I had heard of Fugazi, but never got around to listening to their records. The instrumental rock performances are fantastic (for punk that is), but the lyrics came off like the naive whinging of a child. It's the kind of music where you enjoy the pulse and bob, but then roll your eyes about how silly the lyrics are while munching down on a very early morning breakfast at an all-night Denny's restaurant. My favorite track was the instrumental "Brendan #1".
Good, powerful instrumentals with rough screamy lyrics. I feel like the lyrics do have content they're just hard to catch. 2.4 outta 5
2/5; some are bearable, most are not.
Currently in the middle of a weeks-long streak of nothing but absolute duds. This isn't helping things
I do not like this Sam I am.
2/5 punk
Better than other mainstream garbage like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Solid 3 to start out, becomes a 2. Ok, but not more.
Music already has this ranked low, but I don't think there was a single sung note in this whole album. That guaranteed no more than 2 stars. Almost lucky it didn't get 1 star but I didn't bother finishing this album. - What is this intro... Are they playing the guitar with a bow? - Oh no, another terrible singer. Flirting with 2 stars already - Song 3 is an instrumental. I don't mind this one
I think Regurgitator would be a suitable replacement for this crappy band.
I lost my original notes. It was truly the first artist I'd never heard of before. 10th album review. This was heavy rock, kind of fun but not my thing. It felt like the kind of series intro or scene transition music that you'd hear in a Bourdain documentary.
avant garde hard punk interspersed with some laid back grooves
Nah
Heavy rock/punk sound, with plodding tempos and monotonous atonal yelling. Pick it up, make your vocals more compelling. Otherwise, pass.
There are some decent parts of songs here, but there is too much random noise in between. 2 stars or D+.
This rock sucks
Nothing special. More rock than alternative.
I like the music. Just not a fan of the "yelling".
Loud and messy like a toddler with a tray of spaghetti. Both are fun until you are cleaning up the thrashfest aftermath.
another pretty generic heavy rock album. I will never wish to listen to this ever again in my life. utter shite. 2 stars
Heard of them, never listened to them. It’s ok
Really unenjoyable listening experience, think it came down to the vocals for me. It sounded like it was trying to be something different. I have discovered a lot of punk/ post-punk through this list that I did enjoy but this album was repetitive and I was waiting for it to be over. I appreciate that it was influential so it avoids the 1 star on that basis.
Grew into this album still not grabbed me though. Some incredible ideas just not executed as well as it could be
Knew of the group, kinda, thought they were metal, was pleased to see they are listed as alternative. Track one was pleasing, went downhill after that. 2.5 rounded down. Not a great week so far.
While there is fantastic drum work all over this project, and a good amount of variation, it’s quite unmemorable to me.
Meh
Fubarzi
over and over and over
Not my style
Fugazi and this style of music in general is not for me, I'm afraid. This was 42 minutes of annoying background noise that I couldn't wait to finish.
Didn’t really do it for me. Just something not very satisfying about the sound
This started well then I got increasingly bored. At The Drive In they are not.
Passed me by at the time .. I think I would have liked it back in the 90s, but not so much now.
Eh. Fine but nothing particularly special or interesting to me. (1.5 stars)
Not for me.
I can see where it was innovative and the instrumentals are interesting but it's not my thing
It’s just not for me. Objectively, it’s a solid album, but I personally didn’t enjoy it much. Out of all the songs, I only liked Brendan 1 so I was disappointed to find there was no Brendan 2. The band was tight, and there’s no question they’re talented. It just didn’t get me.
No son de mi agrado. Mucho ruido y pocas nueces
ehh
Alternativ rock, Lidt for meget lyd, lidt for lidt go vibe
Whole album sounds like the demo track to a band that never made it
Boring
I usually listen to albums in this genre like “this is absolute garbage” and give it one star. But, I have to humble myself and remember that I do find a couple offspring sings lit, so therefore I wouldn’t say this album was complete garbage, but maybe like a bedside trash
Hard rock, punk rock, mostly instrumental Good musicians
background music rock
13 Songs is the only Fugazi you have to hear before you die.
I was pretty wasted and stumbled into a club where this band was playing (this was 1991) and I thought it was Fugazi but they were really different than I thought they'd be but it turns out they were the Fugees, which is what I wish I'd been listening to instead.
maybe i would have liked it if i'd heard it when it came out, but too noisy frantic fury for me ! 2
dont like the vocals
Can't say I enjoyed this one.
Somehow this band flew under my radar, now I know why. Album had few decent songs but overall just sounded like slightly heavier punk rock.
Band can whip up a storm of energy, but each of the tracks feels less like a song than a series of disconnected riffs glued together. Doesn't help that the singing is monotonal and colorless either.
Whatever
Some decent guitar playing but not my jam
Does absolutely Nothing for me
This is always tough. I can hear the talent, but I just don’t care for it. I didn’t enjoy listening to this album. This is where I give two stars and feel guilty. But I will give special props to the drummer! That was my favorite part. The vocals were not my jam.
Not putting this on repeat. 2.2
Meh. The singer sucks
Screaming metal ugh
Being Fugazi I'm sure there's an interesting message in here somewhere. Unfortunately this is too punkish for my liking.
Super techno not my vibe
Like so many other albums I started off disliking it and it slowly got better but not enough to be good. 2.5/5
Not for me but I’ve heard worse.
Hardcore punk is always going to be a genre that has to catch me right on the day - with its barely intelligible lyrics, simplistic and overdriven guitars, and songs that really don't stick around, this is kind of the epitome of that. And today, it's not for me. Maybe next time.
alright
A bit too noisy for me. Sounds like it came from a garage, which was probably the point.
Listening to this is like the sonic equivalent of cutting. I understand that some are compelled towards physical pain in search of equilibrium or release. I'm not; so probably can't understand why. It's not just the cheap overdrive. It's playing songs a little bit faster than they're technically capable of. It's engaging in these seemingly random harmonic progressions. It's detuning aimed at cheap dissonance. The screaming. The whole thing just sounds like it's meant to be assaultive. Which, again, I know some people, er, appreciate. I can make out just enough of the lyrics to get that there's some kind of political message in there. I just can't make out enough to get what it is. I see that this came out the year before Rage Against the Machine formed. So maybe without Fugazi we wouldn't have Rage. That's worth a star. Another for their creativity - there's definitely a commitment to a unique sound.
Boringgggg
Not the best
Look, I was a goth/emo kid who was 16 when this album came out. It was boring and banal then, it's no different now.
Nirvana :) Sange jeg godt kunne lide Brendan 1 Two beats off Shut the door Joe 1
I forgot I listened to this yesterday. Must not have been that great.
not for me
Wanted to love it. Merely liked it.
2/5
It is a cool album and worth the listen, just doesn’t float my boat
Not my scene but some interesting bits.
This album has a lot of thought and emotion hidden beautifully behind a post-punk, vaguely jazzy mask. I say "hidden beautifully" because it really is so well hidden that I have trouble discerning it. So many of the top-rated reviews give this a surefire 5 stars, and I'm left here wondering: what exactly is the craze all about? I'll give Fugazi some credit here. The bass is very good, and the drumming is pretty solid too. Even in some of the weaker tracks, like Greed and Shut The Door, the bass stands out as a rope of reality to cling onto. Also, there's a lot of potential for greatness here. The band really knows how to use silence to create tension, but rather than filling it (or following it) with exciting fills, the moments of tension will often flop, leaving the listener a bit unsatisfied. Amidst a sea of 5-star reviews, there's one well-approved 2-star review that puts my thoughts into words better than I could: "I don’t really like the vocals and although I see how this album could have been influential, I didn’t enjoy much of it. The almost yelled vocals that weren’t in tune were clearly on purpose [particularly noticeable on the song Merchandise], and it’s hard to say that they are bad, but they did nothing for me personally. The instrumentals are pretty good but not good enough to make me want to listen to most of the instrumental songs again." I guess a lesson here is that, while rebelling against the "musical norm" is all fun and good, there's a reason why it's the norm. (Because it sounds good.) And deviating from that norm is a dangerous game to play. 2/5 Key tracks: Brendan 1, Blueprint, Sieve-Fisted Find
It was alright but nothing that I needed to listen to.
Not my favorite. But still pretty good.
Red Hot Chili Peppers heard this and thought "We can do this." This is what was left of punk before it was completely swallowed by pop punk. A punk band hates commercialism?!? Now I've heard everything. At least these guys stayed indie their whole careers. A young Trent Reznor would have thought this band was either not hard enough or not experimental enough. The lead singer sounds like Brian Johnson from AC/DC. Could be that I just had an AC/DC album that's making me think that.
Music was alright, didn't like vocalist. Didn't really care for it.
This album asks such important questions as: What if punk music was really boring?
I'm not sure why so many hard rock, screaming albums are so influential that they make this list. Just not my thing...
This is the voice I hear in my head after I bang my head through the wall. It just hurts. I like some of the guitar work, but, good gosh, find a new singer.
Hard rock is my favorite genre, but this really didn't do anything for me. I think it was mostly the vocal style I didn't like, and to a lesser degree the guitar tone. I didn't have a favorite track - it was all just blah.
Just a bit too shouty for my liking.
Another one my girlfriend would be happy to listen to but I would grudgingly sit through it. Yeah, punk just isn’t my sorta thing!
Not for me, really.
Great two first songs, meh after
nope not fo me, couldn't stand the hole album
The third boring punk album I've had this week.
Still need to read the stuff about this
01) Turnover - 6,5 02) Repeater - 6,0 03) Brendan #1 - 5,5 04) Merchandise - 6,0 05) Blueprint - 5,0 06) Sieve-Fisted Find - 5,0 07) Greed - 5,0 08) Two Beats Off - 5,0 09) Styrofoam - 5,0 10) Reprovisional - 5,0 11) Shut the Door - 5,0 TOTAL: 5,36 (54/100) Current ranking: 260/295
I understand why this album is important but it's not something I want to listen to
I like some of the music but the singing is very hit and miss.
Good stuff. But not for me.
Repeater? I hardly know her!
This is Fugazi's debut album, and has like a punk-y alt rock thing going on (post-hardcore if the internet is to be trusted). It's pretty fast tempo for the most part, very bass-heavy and loud. Sometimes punk stuff works for me, but I'm not really feeling this one. There's a couple songs that are decent, but it's just generally a bit too loud and heavy for me. I can see the appeal, they seem like talented enough musicians, just not really my vibe. Favorite song: Blueprint Other: Repeater, Merchandise, Shut the Door 7/16/24
Not really my thing
Sounded like a crappy basement band
Indie AF. There are some interesting parts of songs (particularly the drumming and bass playing), but it never really comes together for me (the guitars are too noisy, the vocals are too shouty, and some of lyrics get a bit pedantic). However, I can hear how it influenced 90s & 00s alt rock. Highlights: "Turnover" (explosive drumming, vocals remind me of the Clash), "Sieve-Fisted Find" (I like the repeating guitar lick and bass runs) Notable: "Brendan #1" (instrumental, drums and bass make it sound like a Chili Peppers song, but then the noisy guitars come in)
Meh.
Hmmmm iguess not for me
Interesting. Not my favorite but the activism is important.
I hoped to like this more than I did. It was pretty boring and nothing stood out. I waffled between giving this a 1 or a 2, but I'm going with 2 just because it's not atrocious in the same way as other things I've rated a 1. Just really blah.
Not really feeling this.
Fine, I guess. A couple songs I liked, but not all that much. Just some rather generic rock music to me. No man's land between good and bad. Favorite tracks: Repeater, Song #1. Album art: About as nothing as the music. Just the name of the band and album, some kind of picture serves as the text, looks like someone face down on a stage? I don't know, I'm moving on. 2.5/5
Perhaps the worst vocal performance I've ever heard in my entire life. There were a half dozen guitar riffs over the course of the record that kinda got me nodding my head, that's the only thing that saved this from a one.
I mighta been into this in my teens.
Not the worst punk i've heard but not the best either. Allot of "Scream" punk but you hear a bit of the type of skate punk i tend to like if i want to listen to punk. Not my cup of tea.
Forgetzi
Ist mir zu punkig
Not my cup of kenco
2.5
Not really my thing, but that's my fault, not theirs. Too punky for rock, too mild for hardcore... dunno. Hard to classify.
Ugh, I hated this guy’s voice, and most of this just seemed loud just for the sake of being loud. Not my favorite.
I kind of fugot about Fugazi. But then, they're not that memorable.
Eh, its alright
With the exception of The Waiting Room, which I've always liked (& isn't on this album), Fugazi mostly sounds to me like what I'd describe as "frat punk", paving the way for bands like The Offspring, Limp Bizkit, etc. Maybe liked 1 or 2 tracks ok. But nah.
Terrible. Sort of punk, but not very good.
Loud. Not particularly enjoyable. But it didn't make me want to pierce my eardrums with a skewer to make the noise stop, so I guess that's something.
Not my sound.
Not their best album.
meh...others do it better. The vocals are not great, the lyrics are too straightforward, the guitar and drums are good but nothing unique about it. Their sound just feels like a lot of other 80's and 90's bands and nothing stands out enough for me to want to add this to my mix.
The first couple songs weren’t bad. In fact, the first song’s vocals remind me of the lead singer of Los Diablos Blancos (check out their album Golderado if you haven’t heard of them, they rock). But overall, just couldn’t get into it.
turnover, blueprint
2 - I literally have no thoughts about this one. I already don't remember what any of the songs sound like. So, I guess I'd call it boring.
Didn’t enjoy this too much.
3/10 - Too aggressive and not very enjoyable to listen to because of that.
Not the best but ok. Don’t need to listen to it again.
turnover - okay slay, I'm liking this WOAH I WAS NOT EXPECTING THOSE VOCALS 6/10 I like it but I'm going off of a tough scale so 6/10 is pretty good imo repeater - I didn't even know the song switched 💀 I don't like this one as much but it's not bad. 4/10 Brendan #1 - again, didn't realize the song changed 💀 it's pretty good. doesn't stand out to me though. 5/10 Merchandise - I like the bassline, it's giving the cure meets twisted sister meets the offspring and also like coming of age movie. 6/10 blueprint - i like this, the vocals throw it off a little but that's okay, it's still pretty good 7/10 sieve fisted find - meh. 4/10 greed - I don't like it 2/10 two beats off - bro sounds like he's high but slay 6/10 styrofoam - meh. 4/10 reprovisional - 4/10 shut the door - I'm bored 6/10 song #1, Joe #1, break in - all these songs sound the same 4/10 literally they sound like the offspring but not 😭
Forgettable
Sort of a screamy Beastie Boys 90s meets the Cure - the sound of post-hardcore - per the liner notes
It was decent rock. Tempo and lead singer not for me

Turnover // 2/5
nag 2*
Not my jam, was expecting something better than what this was.
Meh not really my thing, just a jumble of sounds and noises.
Sin pena ni gloria.
I've had this album since early college and have never listened all the way through. I know it's a seminal record and all that but it just never does anything for me.
This did nothing for me - melodically this was pretty uninteresting to me. Would not have finished this album if I was listening on my own accord.
Hardcore!
I don't even know what to say about this album. Amongst the guitar drone that hurt my ears, I could probably peg this as the 90s.
uhhhhhh.....
C- Turnover 2 Repeater 2 Brendan #1 2 Merchandise 2 Blueprint 3 Sieve-Fisted Find 3 Greed 2 Two Beats Off 2 Styrofoam 2 Reprovisional 2 Shut the Door 3 I mean, did we really expect much?
If you wanted to learn the drums, then this is the way to become a pro. Otherwise, my ears hurt.
2/5 few good, most bad
Meh
Sin pena ni gloria.
I got really seeing a post-hardcore album on the list. Finally something that was not your run to the mill rock, only for it to be a huge let down. Not unlistenable but will not revisit.
Why do the singers ruin everything???? like the instruments are doing an ok job at best (its not for me but fairs) and then I have to listen to shouting rubbish. Unfortunately for Fugazi, I had just listened to Aretha Franklin who actually knows how to sing and produce a note that is in tune so my ears had a jump scare. It was also boring and everything sounds the same. where is the flavour and variety????? On the second track i think (it sounds the same), ouch my poor, poor ears... i hate this. it's just noise third track- wait why was it a little funky but then it went back to poo again
Ei tuntunu high art täl kertaa mut eikai iha paskakaan..
Mmmmm🤔
It is good instrumentally and stuff, just not for me
Another one full of nothing special.
