Reviews (page 7 of 8)

Beavis and Butthead would have loved this record.

I'm not sure how this album made it on the list. I'm guessing the author of 1001 is a big fan. Plus it looks like yet another album showing the author's British bias -- even in England, this didn't make much of a splash, and outside of England, it made even less. The album isn't bad, but it doesn't belong here.

I did not like this, but I suppose I can see why some would.

While heavier than Pink I am not sure how it is really different than Pink. Much of the album has a polish that works against its rage. I liked one song but will not listen to the album again.

a little too strange for me :-)

Not for me. Too disjointed and noisy. Strong elements, lackluster execution.

While I remember the predecessors to this album and I remember the existence of this one, I don’t remember any of it. So they apparently became a bit more sophisticated in the production and songwriting but also apparently became a bit less memorable. There are some good moments here but they really get lost in the mediocrity of general alternative mush. Skin was a great frontwoman and singer so they were very good when they were good. But I don’t see myself coming back to this again with any urgency. I am glad it reminded me to listen to their first couple of albums again though.

Haven't heard any of this before. I appreciate the energy of the performances and the perspective of the lyrics, but I'm not a huge fan of the songs. "Lately I can't seem to Colour what we've lost"

Bit jarring at times

Should be good. Should be Portishead with real instruments and a kicking beat. Should be able to remember at least one song from a 25 year old album, but I can't (maybe Secretly), and that's because it simply lacks any killer hooks, melodies or other things to make it something worthy of being cherished

I couldn't finish this. The vocals could be decent, but it sounds like she's straining her voice. Eek. I also don't care for this style of music. Pass.

Skunk Anansie has a great track called Selling Jesus that is the first song I ever heard from them back in the late 90's. But every other song of theirs I've heard is always far inferior by comparison. Post Orgasmic Chill definitely fit this pattern. It seems like it's trying to go so many directions; nu-metal, post-grunge, trip-hop, all of the 90's hyphenated styles apparently. But none of it really works for me, so it was a pretty dull and once again disappointing listen.

A few solid tracks on here I may come back for, and not much more beyond that

Not in my edition of the book! 1999. 2 stars. Average rock band with average songs, partially offset by (mostly) excellent vocals. Not much to like here.

Not my favourite. If it's on the radio I'm skipping it.

This one is a grower...it grows from a pretty low place at the start, but it does become acceptable by the end. Favorite track: I'm Not Afraid

At the start of the record, I found the vocal style incredibly unique for this era of rock, but found the butt-rock instrumentation to be goofy, like a song you would hear close a Michael Bay film. However, once it started escaping that sound and was oddly ballad songs with a hint of rock band, I found myself sorely missing the heavier sound. The album never really settled down, causing it to exhaust its welcome far sooner than what was intended. A sound following the second track's punky delivery and brash lyrics is what would've benefited the album the most, I feel, and twenty minutes shaved off the runtime. To be unique is always welcomed, but you have to go all in, otherwise you just fall into a midpoint of mediocrity and forgeability, destined to be forgotten in an era you assuredly thought you were avoiding.

wasn't really my cup of tea. a mix of screamo/punk, and it reall wasn't my jam. kinda couldn't wait for it to be over. i think there were some glimmars of like, oh this could be cool... but every other song i wanted it to be over as soon as possible.

I dig when the vocalist goes gritty. Not so much when she goes high and pure on her vocals. Never heard of this band before, and not likely to seek them out. They had my untrained ear thinking of The Mars Volta.

New to me, no idea what to expect. Similar to System of. Down but missing that special something.

It was okay, but nothing really stood out to me.

not really my thing, but it reminded me of the 90s in a good way. The voice is great.

Maybe more interesting than I remembered but a little bit too aggressive and stressful for me to enjoy.

Think Hoobastank mixed with Evanescence. That is not a good thing.

Wow do I dislike this. Something about their sound is such a turn off and I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe I just heard it on the wrong day.

I don’t know about y’all, but I was completely taken back by the N-word and hard-R usage in the first few songs. Can’t say I expected to hear it in this genre at all, but it does make sense in the context. I hadn’t ever heard the term ‘clit-rock’ before either, but somehow that also makes sense. I thought there were some really great parts to this album and other parts were forgettable. Either way, it held my attention and it was an interesting band to discover, it just wasn’t a top 1001 album to me.

Not great.

Yeahhhhhh this just didn't click for me at all. Hard pass. 1.5/5

I didn't enjoy this at all. 954 albums in and this comes up and all I can think of is, "Why is this here instead of any Evanescence?" Not that I'm a huge Evanescence fan, but all I could think of was how much I'd rather be listening to them than this. This far in, I want the good stuff. This wasn't it.

Popular 90s rock music, the edges are too clean and sharp. I started thinking this might challenge my expectations but by half way through I tired.

Can remember Skunk Anansie been around but had forgotten about them. Nothing on this album to make me think I’ve missed anything. Some nice riffs but the music is a bit too harsh and shouty for my taste. 2/5 17/4/24

tonic passt nicht so gut zur atmosphäre meines lebens.... kann nicht mehr...... hasse es

This was a total disappointment. I started out really liking the heavy instrumentals, but could never really jive with the singer. As the album went on the singer still was bad and either the instrumentals followed, or I just lost complete interest.

Idk why but this first song and the year it came out makes me think it should be on the Matrix soundtrack. This is some angsty late 90's rock right here. Hits for me sometimes others not so much. There were some songs close to the beginning that I was bopping my head along to, but this one probably won't get listened to again for me.

Heb het afgezegd, vind het niks

Wel redelijk.

I can see why people might like them, and this album in particular. But, it's not for me. Not my taste It's at least a 2

Futuristic movie soundtrack.

The album was interesting. Nothing was recognizable and I had never heard of the band previously. It wasn't bad but I would revisit it. Better than a two but not really a three.

Not really a fan of this style of music but I did enjoy “Cheap Honesty.”

Pretty noisy for me but I’ve heard worse on this list.

Yeah it was alright.

The complete opposite of the album's name. Seemed very appropriate for people who are mad at the world. A lot of screaming and craziness. But, if your're into that kind of thing...

Both he and Genesis all songs sound the same. Not a fan

Discordant. Nothing really made me want to listen again

Not my scene

Hardrock. No termino de encontrarle el ritmo, aunque alguna canción bien.

Oh man, this is pretty 90’s. I gave is a chance, lead singer Skin? Her voice is strong and if they leaned more into the Nu-Metal direction I thought this was originally going, it may have been ok, like an Evanescence album. Just seemed they couldn’t pick a lane and the album ends up being a bit of a mess overall. The sappy ballad like tunes didn’t do them any favours either. I came out of this pretty confused. 2 stars

Never much got into these guys. Liked the punk bits (On My Hotel TV) more than the overwrought heavy rock. Doesn't do anything for me.

I can see why other people like them, but I'm afraid it just isn't for me.

some heavy riffs i like, though i don’t see myself revisiting this album

Did not care for all of the album, but there were some good tracks.

This album is very 90s, but had not aged well. I could have done without this one.

chill out love

Nooooooo thanks

Not my thing. The wikipedia article didn't give me anything to glom on to to find something to listen for and/or enjoy on a different level. 2

This started off okay, with a more electronic feel than I expected. Great voice and some good lyrics, but the general feel, once it settles into what seems the band's default, was a bit too rockist and one-dimensional overall.

A great band sound. Just not my type of thing. They don't half make a bloody racket.

This was extremely rough to get through. Rarely have I disagrees this consistently with almost every artistic decision made. Skin is incredibly talented, and I'll leave it at that.

Rock/metal with very passionate female vocals. A bit harsh for my taste

Instrumentals go HARD, but everything else falls flat for me.

Had high hopes that lasted to about the middle of the first song. By the end just annoyed with every song just becoming the same as the last.

I really wasn't into this mixed up rock sound back in the late 90s, it was just bad, I really don't get why this gets highly rated, because at best it's music with no identity, and at worst, it's about as good as a school band trying to be awesome rockers... and failing miserably. Tracks I liked... well none of them actually. Tracks I hated... On My Hotel TV

Every song starts at 11 and ends there too. The is no range in dynamics or lyrics. The songs are all overbaked and overproduced, forgetting to let the listener grasp on the essence of the song before taking off. However the vocals were excellent and the band sounded tight. I think a 2.

Gar nicht meine Musik...Tempo, Stimme und musikalischer Aufbau macht es für mich super anstrengend, diese Musik zu hören.

Not my style

I'm not a big fan of female vocalists. Maybe that's unfair, but it's my personal taste and I'm going to mark this album down because of that fact. I was also never a big fan of Skunk Anansie, seeing them very much as a nu-metal band with the lead singer being a bit of a Grace Jones clone with a chip on her shoulder. Yes, she's angry about something, but it's just fake anger and it gets boring fast. They were everywhere in the 90s, appearing as a support act for bigger bands and crowding out smaller, upcoming bands. I'd never heard this album before, but it didn't do anything to change my mind about either point. The ballads in the second half are incredibly dull and the backing music is derivative pap. Reluctantly I will give this 2 stars, as it's not quite bad enough for 1.

Not my type of music but remember them from watching MuchMusic!

White elephant Xmas gift... Would like to return to sender

Couldn’t get interested

This one comes out the gates swinging with a funk-metal sound that's very reminiscent of the couple of years either side of the millenium. It has a feeling that it's trying to reach for the 'next-big-thing' status of the new era of music to come. What we end up with is a flimsy set of complain-rock tracks that try to replace hooks with simply beating the listener over the head with thrashy guitars. Very pedestrian, and not something I'll ever listen to again willingly, or think is deserving to be on any list (even a bad one).

Just not for me

Skin has an exceptional voice and the sound is pretty great but there just aren’t the tunes to carry this

Pretty bland 90s indie

Not as chill as I would have hoped

Not my thing. Sounds bland and very 90's.

Får en tvåa bara för att jag är snäll.

Pas trop mon style, je n'ai pas accroché à part une ou deux chansons.

A bit all over the place to me

perdu tout intérêt assez rapidement. 5/10

Hard rock, punket, alternativt, spændende vokal = clitrock

When they run out of albums to put on the list

This was not as bad as the title of the album and the name of the band seemed to indicate. So, better than anticipated and still not something I believe deserves to be in this book.

Not a fan of this band. At one point in my life I might have been, but not now.

OK album some great songs. Fantastic vocals.

Hardrock. No termino de encontrarle el ritmo, aunque alguna canción bien.

Some interesting moments but couldn't push this rating any higher.

Now this is an interesting pick, looking forward to digging into this!

Not hard rock/metal. This is just like the earlier 90s 'Punk' refresh. I don't what about this album makes it a 'Must Listen'. The sound is a clone of similar acts from the period while the lyrics try to be edgy, they're edgy in the sense of a Starbucks barista wearing a pin on their apron supporting ______ month and calling themselves an ally. The music is okay, not a must listen. 2/5.

Whiny lyrics. Life isn’t that hard

This feels like a Major Label Album - in all the wrong ways. What do we do with this artist? Make them sound a bit like other artists. 'Going a bit nu metal' really does not work for them, and surprised to see this on the list. Want to like it, but it's even got the big ballad for the radio play track. No.

Instrumentals were cool but I absolutely could not get past the vocals

Pretty embarrassing at times. But it’s even more embarrassing that I enjoyed some of it

Meh, decent enough. One of the best albums of all time? I don't think so.

Not really my thing. Was cool here and there.

Heard it before?: No Enjoy it?: Not really, some nice themes but not for me Favourite song: didn’t have one

Luke tells me these were big in the 90s, it's new to me. I found this hard to get through... I wonder if they paved the way for Evanescence.. very similar I thought. I just found it a bit cringe, all hit OTT and "emo" (I know this predates emo). Luke says they still play and attract big crowds of 40 yr olds

Not too sure yet. 2.5

Felt way too long. Nearly Whitney Houston at one point

History will not be kind to the likes of SA and their genre compatriots. One’s not the least surprised this got exed – filed under “on second thought, not worth hearing after all.” This is lame on as many levels as they think it deep, and so typical of overdone, ‘90s self-seriousness. “God licks your face” – really? We’ve all been there, dudes, so best to keep it to yourself. The intensity is skin deep (as fakily high as the vocals), the urgency utterly misplaced, the drama puerile and jejune. All of which sins pale against the deep affront of the least appropriate album name in this whole collection.

Les années 90 confirment petit à petit leur titre de pire décénie.

le pain sur la planche en question

Really bland compressed alt-metal. Trying so hard but they seem scared about actually being heavy with the music - it doesn't match the pissed off, challenging lyrics that occasionally appear. About as edgy as Skin's head. Best Tracks: Charlie Big Potato; On My Hotel TV; The Skank Heads

I can’t figure out if this is a 2 or a 3! The ballads kill me, but the high energy stuff (and the occasional slap bass) is pretty good. 2.5.

Another difficult listen, another album that every song sounded the same

didn’t love it overall but some of the calmer ballads were good

Not what I expected but didn't know what to expect

Musically pretty cool album, but I feel like it gets held back bybthe performance of Skin, at least for me. Sure she can sing, but I don’t really feel the emotion, especially on the heavier moments it all sounds too forced. 4 out of 10

So the name is the only good thing about this album. Vocals are laughable at best and songs are all over the place. Pro-tip: screaming constantly is not singing. This band sounded like a battle of the bands entry at best. 3/10.

Bleh boring

Nää ois parempia, jos ois oikeesti raskaampaa. Todella hyvä laulaja jota on ilo kuunnella, ansaitsee oman tähtensä.

Love the breakbeat intros on some of the tracks. Vocalist gives me Joss Stone vibes Fave track - On My Hotel TV

Was gonna give 1 but solid vocals

eh, i felt they tried to hard. don't seem very rock/punk. maybe I'll just state "too edgy"

Not very chill and not very orgasmic. Mostly generic hard rock

I was looking forward to this as I had a vague recollection of the band, but it came across as quite contrived and annoying. I hope the next skunk band is better.

Ended up being way softer than I expected. Not necessary my favorite style but a few songs have some interesting elements or melodies going on. 4/10

Weird, in a not good way.

This has 5 stars from Scott Kelly written all over it. It was a lot more nu metal than I had an appetite for.

I love the black female lead punk band, but I sadly found the vocals annoying and hard to listen to. I love metal but this ain’t it.

Hardrock. No termino de encontrarle el ritmo, aunque alguna canción bien.

Theatrical rock with haunting female vocals.

Has the potential to be a good album. On the songs that were a little slower, he has a pretty good voice. Too bad he doesn’t expand on that but I am sure he is doing what he loves. 🤷🏼‍♀️

A unique album that showed signs of good alternative rock pieces but also some really rough nu metal sound songs too. This album seemed to teeter between two different genres. The female singers were pretty good when they just sang. The instrumentals would be good at times but then some songs would be completely off the rails and not enjoyable. Don’t think there’s a ton to revisit on this one. 4.9/10

Once again I can recognize the skill but not my jam.

Ist mal was anderes, ist aber trotzdem nicht gut. Außerdem viel zu lang. Beim 8. Song gelangweilt ausgemacht.

Låter ba int bra

On My Hotel TV slaps really hard, and seems to have a much better overall guitar and bass tone than the rest (with the exception of And This Is Something That I Thought I Had), maybe because there were going more for funk riffs. Then there's 10 more songs. They all sound like music a rock band would produce in the time they were produced.

instrumental promissor, mas vocal irritante

Meh.

This is an album for people who adopted Fight Club as their whole personality. The songs and performances give off the "international band opening for the group you actually came to see" vibe. It's not bad but nothing really sticks on a first shallow listen. I have to give it two stars because -- while I didn't hate it -- I did find myself hoping the set would end soon so they could get their crap off the stage already.

Strange choice being well after the Britpop era they came out of. I think I first saw them in 1994 on an NME tour thing headlined by Verruca Salt. Nothing special or that memorable.

Accomplished but still not my jam.

Anything but chill, and it definitely didn't give me an orgasm.

Alussa ei iskenyt ollenkaan, mutta pari ihan ok biisiä lopulta. 2.5/5

Alku ihan vakuuttava, mutta sitten alkaa hidastelu. sanotaan 2.5/5

Instrumentals were kinda mehhh, and a lot of people were praising the vocals by the singer. But for me it didn't really click.

The first track was great, the rest less so. Not my cuppa tea.

I liked the first track but it never quite fell into place for me...

Kinda heavy industrial sounding. Not my style

Kan me zo voorstellen dat meetings van deze band erg 'zen' waren: Elke idee werd gebruikt, niemand mocht ooit 'tegen' stemmen en zie hier het resultaat. Meh!

The music itself wasn’t half bad, but I really was not impressed by the vocals. I probably would not listen to this album again. Cheap Honesty was my favorite track. Kind of reminded me of Incubus

After a decidedly thin and uninflammatory opener, these not-especially-radicals at least get more melodic. Enjoyable and occasionally surprising Garbage-lite, but too reliant on automatic gestures and a far cry from the spikiness I was expecting.

21st April 2022 Listened in the morning while packing to leave LA! Dates have gone awry. Super 90s, makes me think of the matrix. They are a very cool band and she is an icon. 2.5 if I could.

Secretly worth a star, rest was worth a star.

Not great to be honest

Cum off it

Do like a number of their tracks but very few on here and the rest ain't great.

Not my jam.

I liked the first song on the album but didn't like the rest.

Doesn´t grab and hard to get into, so i stepped out

I had really high hopes after the first song, but unfortunately every next was similiar but worse. 2,5; it was very tiring to end it

Sounds like paramore

Not to my taste

Not a fan of the vocals. The music isn't very good either, but at least it's not grating. Probably would've been a 1 if I could hear the lyrics more clearly/if I was paying attention to them, based on how people describe them.

I remember the singles from when this was released. They were cool but the album as a whole isn't on the same level.. The album title is great, the cover art is so cool and intriguing but maybe there's too much rock and not enough roll.

Not for me, very Linkin Park-y, and I like Linkin Park xD This is just too raw for my liking, and I'm not a huge fan of yelling-singing.

some big riffs, some try-outs at ballads, lots of emoting, but nothing that resonates with me. 2 stars

An odd sound in the middle of the night. The IRS tax code. 'Trout Mask Replica.' Sometimes, you don’t necessarily have to immediately or even completely understand what you’re listening to in order to enjoy it. The free Jazz of Ornette Coleman, for example. But sometimes you do, and if you don’t, then… well… I didn’t understand this LP at all. I liked the opening three tracks and the second to last well enough. The band is rocking and the vocalist has a unique voice (which frankly sounds better when she’s scream/singing rather than singing/singing). The lyrics lent themselves to a little pondering. The arrangements and production had some nice moments- I particularly liked the strings and chord progression of ‘Secretly.’ However, things took a downturn beginning with ‘Tracy’s Flaw,’ and never really recovered. Even the final track, following an ill-fitting Lynyrd Skynyrd-sounding guitar solo, just kinda petered out. The main issue for me is: either Skunk Anansie doesn’t know exactly who they are, or want to be, musically; or, I don’t. Either way it left me scratching my noggin. Still, I don’t think I’d go as far as to say that this Skunk stunk. Maybe more like a wet Dog?

its like punk and actually kinda better than expected but the group's look grosses me out

Sounds very dated now.

The opening to The Skank Heads is quite nice. The rest of the album…whatever. Some of the music is OK. I do not like the lead singer’s voice, and I can’t get past it.

Oh Skunk Anansie? Yeah this might be alright, they had a few decent tunes. None of them on this album though.

werd wohl kein Fan mehr

nah 2/5

disgusting. very close to 1, I'm just feeling generous tonight.

What a load of malarkey, I don’t get them at all, hard to focus

One of the most wretched recordings I’ve ever been subjected to. At first I thought they were talented if a little misguided but I soon found they were entirely misguided and just a little talented. Each song is a foray into some other terrible 90’s genre. You want some Hootie and the Blowfish? They got that. What something Korn-y (sic)? They got that too. Sheryl Crow? Natalie Imbruglia? They got all that shit and more. Each song more unlistenable than the last. I think my Spotify may have randomized the play order but who gives a shit. Nothing could have saved this.

1. potato - 2 2. hotel - 0 3. think - 1 4. flauu - 0 5. zkank - 0 6. lately - 1 7. zecretly - 2 8. come - 1 9. cheap - 2 10. follouu - 1 11. nothing - 0 12. afraid - 1

This was awful. I couldn't finish the album because it gave me headaches. I'm not who sure this is for or what genre it is, but each song seemed worse than the next. No idea how it made this list.

I hated this. It was British female-led hard rock. It was not good.

Worst one yet LOL absolute dogshit

boring and monotone, felt like they were going for some epic shit but it just felt watered down version of stuff i've already heard before

The songs on this album either made me annoyed or uncomfortable or both. There were a few instances that were actually quite beautiful, which made me annoyed the rest wasn’t like that.

Schrecklich

Could only stomach 3-4 songs.

If I could give a zero I would give less

I did not enjoy this very much. It sounds like every other late 90s early 00s band trying to do rock and roll. 2.5/10 Top song Secretly

This sounded like total shit to me. Idk, this may just not be my type of genre

A waste of time. 1

I feel like the "here's another boring British band" complaints are somewhat overdone on this site, but I'll make an exception here. Not even in the 3rd tier of late-90s Britpop adjacent bands.

This has got to be a joke, right?

Cannot get into it

No. Gross.

Die Liste des Grauens geht weiter. Warum quäle ich mich damit ab? Dieses Geheule geht mir dermaßen auf die Ketten!

I didn’t really get this

Idk, I don't see the appeal. DEFINITELY not for me.

These people must have some chaotic and angry sex if that is their version of chill. I’ll pass.

i can see what they were going for, but the combination of rock opera/industrial/whatever this is doesn't really do it for me, sorry.

(18/100)

En CD jeg er glad for at jeg aldri har eid

not for me

Feels out of place on this list

Couldnt egt through it

My God jong, ik kon het niet eens uitluisteren. Letterlijk zero chill en al helemaal niet post orgasmic!

Ugh this I never need to hear again

No real thoughts one way or another. No real hit songs.

I don't think I like a single thing about this

brutal

Oof, hated this. Awful band name, awful album name, super dated sound. Started rough and got worse from there.

This list is so fucking dumb

Skunk is right! This stinks

Not for me. Trying to be edgy indie, but its just another boring message vehicle which has been done to death by most rappers. On the plus side. It ended.

Late 90s "alternative metal" at its absolute worst. A nails on a chalkboard cultural wasteland.

Unlistenable shit.

Yikes this is annoying. Incessantly soaring vocals, overwrought and joyless. I think there’s a good reason why most people have never heard of this album, it’s bland, vanilla and unmemorable. Oh and I didn't like it.

The name and album cover are a bit misleading. I really expected some good 'chill' music, but noooooooooo. We get hard/alternative rock/metal. And her voice. Come on, man.

Actually 0 stars quite awful

I really liked Skunk Anasie’s first two albums and saw them live quite a bit in the mid-late 90’s. I sort of moved away by the time this album came out though. I know I owned it, but can’t remember much about it so kind of listening to this afresh. I am now reminded why I may have moved away from them at the time and also why I don’t remember this album. Shame.

ARGH IM SO ANGSTY AND OPPRESSED. IT MAKES ME WANT TO WEAR A LEATHER JACKET, EYELINER AND SKULL JEWELLERY AND SHOUT ABOUT IT ON THE JOOLS HOLLAND SHOW.

“what if Tool had a female vocalist?” They’d still make miserable shit.

Not good at all.

There are many other versions of this by other artists that are better. At its best, it is bland grunge rock

Well this is god awful

This is really bad and annoying

More like skunk butt amirite?

Trash. Some interesting beats on a few tracks, but overall not worth listening to.

First 30 seconds of this album slay. But then, what the actual fuck? Why does the “I’m going under” chick keep saying the N-word? This is a no. Not even close. How did this get on vinyl, much less on this list? Hard pass.

🤦🏻

Irritating when they try to be heavy, boring when they try to be emotional.

Putting this album in the challenge is what I call a "strong wrong".

I thought "Hedonism" was okay, but I had a hard time getting through the rest of the album.

I knew of Skunk Anansie's work before I started listening. I'm not a fan of Skin's yelling singing style. Track one started and I was pleasantly surprised. Then came the inevitable screaming and I'm out. I made it three tracks in, but I doubt I'm going to find anything I like on this album, and even if there is, I'm not wading through the unlistenable to get to it. I'm usually happy to sit through many an album to find one or two tracks I'd like. The only comparison I can think of is that I'd happily rifle through a bucket of soil to find a fiver, but not a bucket of dog shit.

"Are we almost done yet?" No, 48 minutes left...

A little too edgy for me. I didn’t enjoy this. At all. And I wonder how this was selected to be included in such a list.

So bad

Hard no

When the singer yelled “turn it off” in the 2nd track, I wish I’d taken her advice.

i rate this a 1; it not a genre i listen to much of and the album just did not resonate with me

alternative rock is not my thing

Not my genre at all. Nothing to appeal from this, except how great it was when Skunk called out the Stormzy Glasto headlines for saying he was the first black artist to play the pyramid stage

I did not need to hear this

1/5 not for me

"Post Orgasmic chill" it's just for girls. For the boys is "Post Jerk Off Depression"

I wanted to like this because of the album name, but I can't get there.

I couldn't take it anymore. The singing is god awful and shrieky. The music is annoying. I don't know why I needed to hear this at all before I die. 1/5

lol cmon man

Couldn’t finish. REALLY not my cup of tea

Pourrait certainement être sélectionné pour le livre "1001 Albums That Might Prove Life Is Not Worth Living."

Not for me

Dislike..... I had high hopes going into it, but immediately was disappointed. Instead of the lyrics "Get off me" it should say "turn this off".

This album was making me angry, like I couldn’t even finish it. God I hated this

I had never heard of this band/album before, and surprise surprise, they are British. This is uninteresting and inessential. I will never think of this band again.

This was horrible. I'm sure someone likes them, but it's not me.

it sounds corporate. idk how to explain it.

A big no no for me

I don’t know who this is for

Well given the album name I knew it would be…. interesting to say the least. And it wasn’t even that. It was lacking in all areas other that weirdness and provided no good oomph as to why it made it on this list.

UK Nü Metal. Really not my cup of tea. I liked how political the singer was but that’s about it.

No, I tried, I can't get through. Less than 30 albums on my "catch-up list"and they're all ones I've avoided. Hopefully there will be a few surprises /sigh. Not this album though.

Like if Yoko Ono fronted a nu metal band

I came into this album with pretty low expectations and it still underachieved. Right off the bat, it just seemed like a tamer version of screamcore and I don’t even like that genre. Then there are ballads. I expect to have forgotten this band’s name by tomorrow.

Not good

It wasn't unlistenable...it was just the most boring, AI generic sounding rock I have ever heard. Just terrible. 1/5

Pop nu metal?? Ikke for mig. Overhovedet.

This started out ok.. Felt a bit inspired by RATM and .. Tina Turner? There were several times where her voice sent shakes down my spine because it sounded so false.... The best parts were the ballads, the rest was bland and pretty uninspiring.

Not for me

1/5 not my style at all

Horrendous. Bravo 👏

Massive vocals raging over heavy & tightly played staccato mid tempo riffs with some electronica adornment. A combination of trip hop and nu metal. This sounds like when Serbia or somewhere enters a hard rock song for Eurovision. In other words it's overblown, ear-piercing and somehow both irritating and dull.

No thanks

I didn’t like it.

This is quite bad. It's like ska meets Avril Lavigne. There's no fluidity and the harmonics are very abrasive. The lead singer is like nails on a chalkboard and without much rhythm or cadence. I'm trying to push through the entire record, but it is very difficult.

Yeah, that’s gonna be a nope from me. Maybe I am not the target audience. A chore to make it through; somehow irritating but still bland.

With all due respect to some of the lyrics' social aspects, this is just about the opposite of what I want rock music to sound like. 0.5/5

Auditory violation. I admire the female vocals for a moment, am reminded of Evanescence, and the repulsion and nausea set in. Not in the least bit sexy, or enjoyable. File under N for Noxious.

I’m glad this band exists for their fans.

I didn't enjoy this at all.

Just weird

Racist, violent, misogynistic…why is even being listened to?

HATED THIS ! HAD to Stop listening!

Listened Before: N Annoying. Not sure why this is here. I think they think they're punk rockers or something? No idea. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: Secretly

Guess I’m not a fan of clit-rock

Nope! Don't like that!

not for us

not my bag
