Reviews (page 3 of 10)

- Heard before? Yes, but it's been a while. - Will I listen again? I'd probably seek out Hotel California first if I was craving the Eagles, but I would enjoy coming across this album again. - Does it inspire me to listen to more of this artist? Yes.

4\10 bon album good vibe

It was optimistic and good to listen to. I can see how it struck a chord with people disillusioned by the drugs sex and anarchy of the preceding post war era.

Quite liked it. Objectively three stars, but since it reminds me of my younger years, I'll bestow it with four :).

It's a little too bright at clean for the old outlaw country fan in me, but there's no denying that The Eagles (and their friend Jackson Browne) struck California country rock gold here. The production is rock solid and this self-titled debut is a marvel in the world of debut records.

I had a rough night and I LOVE the fuckin' Eagles, man.

easy breezy beautiful

Need to listen to Hotel California now

j’adore

I listened to the 2013 remaster and its a really good sounding album. Mixed really well with good separation and you can really dig into all the constituent parts. I'm not sure I have ever appreciated the backing banjo in 'Take it Easy' before today. The album opens with two great tracks, country rock steeped in Americana, it makes me feel like I'm travelling through the dusty west, stopping in sleepy bars and rundown motels. It's a musically accomplished, relaxing sound with enough depth to hold my attention. It's pretty soft rock but it isn't devoid of bite. This album is also the perfect length, something that I am starting to appreciate more and more. I honestly think that had this been 50mins long it would be walking away with a 3*. As it is, its just long enough to pull me in and then leave me wanting more, just edging it into the higher marks.

Decent album. Some good tracks, some okay tracks. I do enjoy the Eagles. 4/5

The Eagles get a bad rap. It's true that they're not as driven by causes as similar folky/rocky bands like CCR and CSNY but their songs are extremely well-written and surprisingly diverse. They contained a number of very competent singers, driven home by their effortless multi-part harmonizing and their blend of folk, rock and country music makes all three things palatable to a broad array of audiences. That's to say nothing of the instrumental talents of the band -- Henley is a competent drummer, Meisner (and later Schmit) is a good bass player and the variety of guitar players they've had (Frey, Leadon, Felder, Walsh, etc.) have ranged from serviceable to stellar (Walsh). They typify the synthesis of influences that marks rock and folk music from Southern California. Are they also a little bit milquetoast? Yeah, they are. However, if we're going to listen to Bee Gees albums in this grand project, it's entirely worthy to add some Eagles. I will say that their music gets better as they recruit better guitarists (they're really cooking when Walsh comes aboard) and when Henley gets a few more writing credits, but this is a profoundly pleasant album. 'Take It Easy' is an all-timer. 'Witchy Woman' is actually a pretty cool hook. Is it all a little bit empty and vapid? Just a little, but it's the honest work of the people on the record and not some galaxy-brained, trend-chasing hired gun. It is, fundamentally, music by people for people -- not music by a corporation for consumers. And for that, I have an enormous amount of time. Odds are, this won't be your favourite album. There's little to ruminate on or dissect and, much like drinking a perfectly-proportioned Rusty Nail, you'll struggle to distinguish it from many similar experiences when it's gone, even if it was the acme of the form while you were in it. 4/5 -- empty but beautiful, much like the terrain they occasionally evoke in their music.

Enjoyed it but also it kind of washed over me at times. Not sure I would listen again but also wouldn’t mind it being played.

Great blend of country and rock with some wonderful vocal harmonies and a nice variety of moods and sounds.

was not expecting there to be any banjo in this

Very good, very eagles

I’ve never fully understood why the Eagles get such a bad rap, and this record only deepens that confusion. This is a very solid debut with a few genuinely great songs and a lot of strong supporting material. “Take It Easy,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” and especially “Witchy Woman” absolutely earn their status. They’re well-written, memorable, and still enjoyable without leaning solely on nostalgia. What surprised me is how well the non–greatest hits material holds up. The deeper cuts don’t feel like filler so much as part of a coherent, relaxed vision. It’s classic Laurel Canyon country-rock done with confidence and restraint. Nothing here is trying to overpower you, and that’s part of the appeal. That said, not everything lands perfectly. “Earlybird” in particular wore on me. I found myself wishing those birds would finally stop chirping, and that’s coming from someone who’s actually taught ornithology. The vibe is right, but the execution goes a bit far. Overall, this feels like an album that gets unfairly lumped in with later excesses and overexposure. Stripped of that baggage, it’s just a strong, well-crafted record with real songs, good harmonies, and an easygoing confidence that still works. Definitely more than deserving of its place here.

take it easy, witchy woman, and peaceful easy feeling make up for the rest of the album being a fart

Awesome album

i like this a lot, i knew a couple of the hits but the rest of the songs were just as good

favorite - Most of Us Are Sad 8/10

chill album, spring vibes

Surprisingly enjoyed this one I have heard bad things about the eagles being assholes so I always am like meh about them but this was a good album

Take It Easy makes me incredibly weepy and nostalgic for some reason. I love this album.

While I prefer the wider scope and eclectisism to come, this is still an impressive debut.

Peaceful Easy Feeling is one of the best vibes of all time. A couple other hits and the deep cuts aren’t bad but don’t bring this into 5 star territory

Lots of good songs and harmonies.

Great music for easy listening.

not my fave band, but I did enjoy this album, a little repetitive at times and could be boring.

Solid album, only song I questioned was Earlybird as it hurt my ears. Other than Take It Easy the album was average, far from bad.

A few hits, a couple nice surprises and several misses

4! Good rock and some lovely songs, good vibes

Witchy Woman and Most of Us are Sad by Eagles on Eagles are fantastic. Rest of album is nice too 🦅

Du country rock jouissif, avec un coup de coeur pour "Witchy Woman" !

Bonus point because “Most of us are sad” is a great name for a song.

Some big hits and some sleeper hits. These are very cool country rock songs.

Reminds me of car rides with my mom as a kid! Take it easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling are classics. I also discovered Nightingale on this listen. Doesn't quite have the 5 star juice, but is comfortably a 4 star record.

Good classic rock album. I am familiar with some of these songs but a lot I didn't recognize.

Take it Easy

Listening session: january 7th, while trying to survive walking through a snowstorm Listened to before: no Thoughts: I normally don’t listen to the Eagles much but I really enjoyed this album Favourite tracks: Most of Us Are Sad, Train Leaves Here This Morning & Witchy Woman

This is quite a good debut album with some legendary songs. I enjoyed it, overall.

Really enjoyed this album

It can be quite annoying when the top 5 reviews are all a movie quote from a movie I've never watched that contains little actual review of the album. Now, onto the actual review: this is a very polished, laid-back country rock album. It's not revelatory in any sense, but it does exactly what you'd expect from the Eagles. It rocks with ample pop polish and a slight country twang. It is a little weak lyrically, but I've heard worse(I gave Deep Purple's Machine Head a 5 in spite of lyrics that are worse than this). Musically, it's competent but not excellent. It's a nice, easy listen that doesn't really give that much in terms of musical rewards, but requires far less effort than most other records to get them. The intro to "Earlybird" is nowhere near as bad or annoying as many say it is. In summary, I like the record, and hate the reviews that just say "I hate the fucking Eagles, man" with no explanation of why they hate the Eagles.

Really like this one. The long instrumentals are nice. Classic rock album from this era.

The Dude may hate the Eagles, but you can’t deny their contributions to rock. This album is great, would listen to again

Great first album from a great LA/country/folk/rock band!

Nice rock album with a lot of elements going into it that felt different and new in every song. The banjo accents in some of the songs as well as great drum parts and bright basslines that kept me entertained while listening.

Easy one for me to love as I grew up in a household with their albums playing

Wild how many absolute hits were on this album, couple of stinkers but a genre defining album with massive hit appeal.

Das würde in meinem Firebird laufen, bis ich nachVietnam eingezogen werde. Fuck yea

Great album. Classic Eagles. The best songs are the slower folk/country rock, softer sounds. Notable tracks include Take It Easy, Nightingale, Witchy Woman, Train Leaves Here This Morning, Peaceful Easy Feeling.

A lot better than I expected. Really enjoyed this. 8/10

There are a lot of songs I have heard, but never listened to. Great songwriting, amazing production, and overall very cohesive and enjoyable.

AAAAA++++

Easy to listen to, the songs were pretty smooth and enjoyable all throughout. It’s the kind of album you can play without thinking too much. It was a fun listen, and I liked it.

Country rock

Classic rock album with a sprinkle of country at times. It's an older album but it definitely has the cool factor still. This album (and likely other Eagles music) definitely influenced The Lemon Twigs. Witchy Woman was a great song. Overall I really enjoyed it and would listen to it again.

Great album - I enjoyed relistening. It was interesting to learn that he lived in the apartment above Jackson Browne

Just an absolute classic. Great vocals, great guitar, great melodies, great lyrics. Honestly, probably my favorite album so far other than back in black

MOR classic

Well, seems like Eagles need some love here. I actually have a soft spot for them. An uncle of mine, rest his soul, was a fan. I've always liked "Take It Easy", which now reminds me of him. It's a cool album, I don't think it's worth 2 or below. I'll give it 4 because I can :)

The hits are well known and’s good, and some of the other songs were just ok. But overall I enjoyed the album.

Take it easy😉

strong start, got a bit boring in the middle but strong again in the end!

Kompetent 60-talsrock utan toppar. En svag fyra

This album was always on repeat at my parent’s house growing up.

Great debut

det finns inte riktigt nåt som utmärker det här från en massa annat som låter likadant, det har är bara... bättre än resten, men känns inte speciellt ambitiöst

Some great songs on this album but "Chug All Night" dropped it from a 4.5-5 to a solid 3.5-4.

Really great album with some amazing tracks. I think this may fall just short of a 5 for me personally, as I think maybe 1 more song would need to wow me to get there. Other than that, could listen to this on repeat for a nice drive in the dessert.

Classic love it

It borders on almost easy-listening, but it has some solid songs that make up for the very gentle country-rock. Take it Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling are obvious hits and I really loved Nightingale

Seems like 'the Dude's' opinion weighs heavy here. Although I would prefer to hold my own judgement, although 'the Dude' may have a point. Some decent songs here, peaceful east feeling etc, but quite beige.

A very solid album

The Eagles are a classic American band, with tons of top hits through the 1970s and 1980s. This 1972 debut album focuses mostly on their laid-back California sound, and there's no doubt why Take it Easy, Witchy Woman and Peaceful Easy Feeling were chosen as the singles. The vocals are smooth and the musicianship is evident. A solid 3.5 of 5, even though the band's vibe is not my favorite thing.

This was reeeally good. I think this is a better one than their Hotel Calironia record. It sound amazing for its age and I think there aren’t any skips on it. Want to revisit, listen again to this one.

rly good 4

There are some big hits on here and very care free feel to the entire thing. Iconic sound regardless of whether I love it or not. Rating: 3.8

Peak. Almost perfect, but regardless still insanely good. Eagles are always great.

Great harmonies

# Album Name: Eagles # Artist: Eagles # Rating: 4/5 # Comments: Not a bad album. Few good tunes. Doesnt hit the highs. Low 4 # Top Tunes: Take it easy # Would I listen to it again? yea

Very good album. 8,5/10

The hits from the album have been played to the point of exhaustion for 50 years now, so it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that the Eagles could have felt new when this album was first released. When revisiting their debut album this time, I tried to put myself in the frame of mind that I would have had I first heard this in 1972. This wasn’t the band whose greatest hits record had outsold every album but Thriller; this was a group formed from Linda Ronstadt’s backing band with plenty to prove. And with that being the case, I view this as an uneven but promising introduction to what would become one of the defining bands in American music. More than anything, this album succeeds at creating a sound that captures the essence of a breezy Southern California day. It’s not the surf music of the Beach Boys early days - this has a clear country flavor. They take cues from Crosby Stills Nash and Young and some of the other folk rock groups of the time, but there’s something distinctly Californian about it; you can’t help but picture open road through the desert, the sun beating down. Take It Easy is a classic for good reason - more than any other song on this album or throughout their discography, it is the clearest distillation of this sound and feel. Peaceful Easy Feeling offers a slightly softer take on this sound as well, with Nightingale being a third offering that feels a bit fresher at this point. The other major hit from this record, Witchy Woman, served as an interesting detour sonically, incorporating a darker sound and more accusatory lyrics than many of their other songs. However, while the hits deserve the air time they have received over the years, the album is pulled down somewhat by the throwaway tracks, which make up nearly half the songs. Most Of Us Are Sad and Train Leaves Here This Morning are snoozers that do very little for me. Meanwhile, Chug All Night, one of the band’s attempts at a rocker, is an early indication of a deficiency that would hamper the Eagles in their early years - they have no bite at this stage. Take The Devil, with Randy Meisner on vocals, has the most edge of anything on the album, but it doesn't compensate for the softness of much of the rest of the album, and it was a while before the Eagles returned to anything with that feel. In the end, the Eagles gave us a strong but imperfect debut effort. At its worst, the Eagles gave a tutorial on how to put the "soft" in "soft rock". Musically, there isn't anything revolutionary going on here. But the peaks of the album are career-defining successes that I, along with so many others, will keep coming back to for a very long time.

these guys rule

Very solid Album

Ah... Eagles. Who doesn't like Eagles? Michael and the Dude. I love "Take it Easy" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling." Love them. "Witchy Woman" is a great Halloween Eve vibe. I read that this made people feel really happy after the tumultuous times of the 60s. Need our Eagles now. At least we have the Eagles.

Consistent and easily lovable folk rock album by a classic band.

Don’t use a Big Lebowski quote. Don’t use a Big Lebowski quote. Don’t use a … Gahhh! “Man, c’mon. I had a rough night, and I hate the fucking Eagles, man.” 4/5 Highlights: Chug All Night Nightingale Earlybird

Some stellar harmonies!

470/1001

Great album. Even if it’s the fucking Eagles, man!

Amazing n single but the rest sucked

Listened to in the car while driving to Jollys Geelong. Very good but lacks some hits for 5 stars. The Eagles best song is on this album - Take It Easy

Album 931 of 1089 Eagles - Eagles (1972) Rating : 4 / 5 A classic first flight from one of America’s all-time great bands. the debut from one of the greatest American bands to ever plug in a guitar. It’s hard to argue with how strong this one starts - “Take It Easy” kicks things off in iconic fashion, setting the tone for the band’s signature blend of rock, country, and harmony. While the album doesn’t quite maintain that same peak throughout, it’s still an absolute dandy from front to back. You can really hear the beginnings of what would become one of the most enduring sounds in rock history - that laid-back California vibe mixed with just enough grit and storytelling to make it timeless. Songs like “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Witchy Woman” still sound every bit as good today. A fantastic start to a legendary career.

Incredible harmonies, great songs, and a mega hit for their first album is pretty cool. Very Crosby stills and Nash instead of the guitar heroes they become later. Couple of songs on here don’t hold the interest all the way through but overall it’s a very solid debut.

Solid listen. Like all Eagles records the quality varies throughout the record but here most of the songs land pretty well. Take it Easy will always be one of my favorite 70s rock songs and I will sing along everytime i hear it. The middle of this record did feel like it sagged a little bit, but then we got Peaceful Easy Feeling and everything was good again. I'm feeling a 4/5

These lists have shown me that I would really like The Eagles if I dug in deep. This is just really cool chilled poppy rock.

Chill classic rock

The early classes. Pretty good!

I'm always impressed with how polished some of these debut albums sound from these now-famous rock bands. Take the first track "Take It Easy" for example, the cohesion and collective harmonies from the group sound like that of a seasoned rock n roll outfit. The production and recording helps in that regard too, and Glyn Johns captured the group well. It's easy-going, country-folk rock that you don't necessarily have to hate just because "The Dude" hates 'em. I think they have better albums, but this was a good start with a few signature early hits.

Nice, but not very special, quite safe. Music quality is crisp, well-recorded, but barely any songs stand out for me. Could happily listen on repeat in the background, but not much more. Take It Easy is pretty good though. 3.6/5

As soon as I saw this album was next up, I let out an audible groan. But I honestly enjoyed it way more than I expected. I listened to the 2013 remaster, and it sounds pretty darn clean and fresh. It's what I'd snobbishly refer to as 'middle of the road', but it's still nice. Favourite tracks: Take It Easy, Witch Woman, Most Of Us Are Sad, Earlybird.

Solid offering by the eagles bringing country and rock together on an album that sounds consistently great start to finish and doesn't get boring.

Enjoyable.

Great album

eagles! never listened to anything from them other than Hotel California (such a good song) and probably some random hits that i don't recognize. excited since i know they're really popular! Take it Easy: Why do i feel like ive heard this before? it's really nice. a little simpler and more country-esque than hotel california but i like that. it's really lovely and feels somehow nostalgic despite never really having listened to it. Reminds me of, like, Fleetwood Mac. I guess it shouldn't surprise me since they're sorta similar bands from a similar time. Witchy Woman: This is a little more similar to Hotel California. Wow I sound stupid just referencing the singular song i know from them but it's very good! I like this kinda music. Just dudes singing about ladies. It's very simple very catchy. It's not deep or political or anything which i can appreciate sometimes. Chug All Night: Very rock n roll very classic. Just a fun little song about drinkin! Most of Us Are Sad: Bruh this is soooo true. Nice to know that people in the seventies were sad too. Genuinely some really nice lyricism here. tell me scarlet sun what will time allow? aww Nightingale: I guess i thought it'd be a more emotional song with a name like nightingale but it's definitely nice! I like how all the band members seem to sing. Gives it this nice unified choral effect. The guys are a bunch of nightingales too! Train Leaves Here This Morning: This is really pleasant, too! Like Jam on Bread... what?? Take the Devil: lowkey the best song thus far. Very smooth but with this darker, edgier sound and this vocal riff is really great to listen to, as well! Earlybird: It's so funny, the bird noises are so high pitched it almost sounds like electronic music. like lcd soundsystem hopped on the scene for the Eagles. Peaceful Easy Feeling: It's giving me a peaceful easy feeling! I wish i were on the grass eating brisket right about now. Tryin': I will say that it's gotten pretty repetitive by now but it's definitely really good. I see why the Eagles are so famous. It's nice. I think it's a little tame for me personally but this is really wonderful for what it is! 4.1/5

This gave me a peaceful easy feeling on a Saturday morning. 3.5 rounded up.

I like this album. I bought it back in 1972 when it was issued. Most if the songs are really good

I saved a song. And yet early bird made me want to defenestrate my phone. I also wasn't a huge fan of every song sounding like it was made by completely different person and sung by a completely different person. But they were definitely some bangers in there.

Great to vibe out and enjoy the flow. Some of their best work from a great band.

For all those people following the dude and hating on the Eagles, take it easy. This band is excellent, and you know it. You’ve probably just over-listened to these songs. That’s because, well, they’re good. The sound of the Eagles are basically threaded into the dna of America. What would any roadtrip be without a peaceful easy feeling? What Seinfeld binge would be complete without Witchy Woman?

Great collection of country, folk rock and hard rock. The songs are great — including a few classics right at the top — and the production is gorgeous. The 1001 albums list is gradually converting me into becoming an Eagles fan, and I’m not mad about it at all.

Truly great classic rock record by a truly great classic rock band. "Take It Easy" has to be the second best song by them (with of course "Hotel California" being on top), and it was one of the more prevalent classic rock radio tunes when I was young and growing up with that being the soundtrack to all car rides. Overall I think the album is a strong 4. It's really quality stuff in all areas. If it had another amazing standout track then it would be in consideration for a 5 for me, but no other song comes close to "Take It Easy". "Peaceful Easy Feeling" is probably the second best for me. It's also a nice contrasting track on the album.

Oh fuck yeah what better way to nurse a hangover at work than with The Eagles, their debut album whilst leaning more so on the country style than rock fusion we come to recognise, this album shows the unmistakable talent of the band, from the iconic dual guitar riffs, tight song structure and those angelic harmonies. Right let's start, first off we have the iconic Take it Easy, where do I even start, the track starts us off with a powerful set of power chords backed by dual acoustic guitars before a bluesy country guitar riff brings in Frey, backed by a choir of angelic harmonies. This is definitely more a country than a rock song, with the light picking of a banjo in the background making that abundantly clear but probably opening tracks to an album. The musical direction takes a sharp left turn with Witchy Woman, leaning more so on the rock/bluesy sound with sprinklings of psychedelia, showing the bands diverse talent. As well as the perfect harmonies, almost haunting in a sense, we get to see the iconic dual guitars that the eagles became known for with bluesy high reverb riffs and a mean guitar solo, probably one of my favourite tracks on the album. Chug All Night once against shifts the sound, this time to a popping classic rock n roll track, bluesy guitar riffs making their way through the funky basslines and crashing drumbeat, all brought together with Frey's cries and harmonic vocals. Most of Us Are Sad then flips the script with Randy Meisner leading the vocals on this track, a beautiful tragedy of a track, speaking of the unhappiness we all feel on a day to day basis. Nightingale was apparently almost cut from the album which would have been a bloody shame as Don Henley's powerful lead vocals help carry this track into being one of the highlights of the album, a driving track filled with that classic rock sound with the flair that only The Eagles can add. Train Leaves Here This Morning add a more folky type feel to album and is a welcome addition before the driving rock and bluesy country sounds we've gotten used to so far. Take the Devil fits very similarly into this category. Ok ok I think I've gone on enough here (even though I have several more paragraphs to say) The Eagles self titled album is possibly one of the greatest debut albums ever created, showing us a small glimpse into what is one of the best rock n roll bands of the 70s, at the very least it's a weekly listen from me. 5/5 MTW Despite the 60s and 70s being where most of my favourite music comes from, I've never really 'got' Eagles. They were never pushed onto me by my dad as a wee dickhead and they've never crossed me as something I'd enjoy since so I welcomed this opportunity to HAVE to give them a listen, especially given this is one of the records I should listen to before I die so I assume one of their better ones. The first track gave me an immediate Jackson Browne feel - and whaddyaaa knowww he co-wrote it. Nice one Jackson (how are you still alive). As soon as the banjo kicked in it became very clear why to some Americans these are their Beatles (to the other lot it's Kiss and those people need their hard drives checking). This is AMERICANA. With this having such a country kick to it I thought I'd really despise it but going into Witchy Woman I found myself quite enjoying myself. It almost made me want to shoot up a school or something. Also HOW IS DON HENLEY STILL ALIVE TOO?! The man must be 90% cocaine at this point. Through and after track 2 I found myself enjoying the very CCR/Grand Funk Railroad guitar licks rolling around in the ol' country rock formula. But for me the record did just kind of chug along from there - via Earlybird which was frankly ridiculous - into the very chill and enjoyable Peaceful Easy Feeling. Just nice easy music. Ending on the Townshend-tinged Tryin', they round off in decent fashion. I really thought I'd have a bad time listening to this but it was COMPLETELY FINE. Nice one. 3/5 JF

have a hangover today. This album appears to have hit an exact sweetspot of upbeat melodies, bluesy country twang and occasional rocking that does not offend my head. In fact I think I quite like it, today that is.

A solid debut album by one of the best selling bands ever. With three big single releases that will get you singing along with the band. 2 great songwriters Glen Frey and drummer Don Henley.

Classic Eagles,

A good american rock album. Can't compare it to Hotel California, but listening to this shows what would happen a little while later. It's a solid record with mostly fun and memorable songs and a surprising amount of country influences. I can understand why the Eagles are one of the best selling artists of all time. 4/5

I'll concede that Eagles may deserve two spots on this list. One from their earlier days when the emphasis was on the "Country" side of their Country Rock sound. Fresh from cutting their teeth as Linda Ronstadt's backing band and with the assistance of songwriter Jackson Browne and mega-producer Glyn Johns, this album announced the Eagles as up-and-coming powerhouse. Outstanding musicianship and four vocalists who could shine alone or in harmony make this a fair choice for that spot. Another entry from their later work, after a mid-career lineup change added rocker Joe Walsh to the fold, is warranted. This was already covered when we reviewed the blockbuster "Hotel California" record. Therefore, we are done with the Eagles for the remainder of this project, right?

This album makes me want to do two things: get in a car and road trip or crack open a few cans and sit in the sun. Sadly British summers (and roads) don’t offer the level of fulfilment I’m seeking. I hadn’t listened to this album before today. I enjoyed expanding my 1970s classic rock repertoire. The album had a lovers undertone to it - the theme of love was veiled (thinly at times) across most songs, which actually was quite enjoyable. gave a sense of purpose to the album. The undulation of slow guitar to upbeat guitar across the album threw me. I didn’t enjoy the swings from one to another. Take it easy was a great opener - very eagles (which feels stupid to say on their self titled album). Most of us are Sad was a different tempo and I didn’t enjoy its placement on the album. Understood to show a bit more range and emotion, also appealing to the slower listening audience- not one for me. Nightgale - who’d have thought this bird would be a perfect partner for an eagle. Took me straight back into the album. Love song with out the super gushy. Early Bird - loved the banjo. Loved the vocals. One of my favourite on the album. Tryin - great ending song - took me back to Road trips and beers. Enjoyed listening to the album

Most of us are sad". La mezcla de voz de hombre y mujer mola, como en "Take It Easy". Para acabar el disco, ponen una canción muy diferente, más rítmica y movida " Tryin' ".

Stylistically consistent throughout. No weak efforts and multiple all timers! You can’t go wrong.

Oh no... Do I... kind of like an Eagles album? Country soft rock Eagles? Hotel California Eagles? Hated by "The Dude" Eagles?? Well I feel very uncool to admit this, but I actually did enjoy this one. In the spirit of this challenghe, I always try to give everything a chance. In my opinion, this debut is a lot stronger than their other album on this list (despite the prolific earworm of a song that is "Hotel California"). It's extremely well produced. The performances and melodies really do help you slip into a "Take It Easy" kind of calm that's miles away from rushed cityscapes. I initially rolled my eyes at the double speed banjo playing. It's hard to remove the stereotype of a person in nothing but overalls sitting on his porch. But even that won me over eventually, as it really does add a lot additional texture and depth to the music. The non-singles are the better songs in my view, particularly "Most of Us Are Sad" and "Earlybird". Is it going to be one of my new favorites? No. Was it worth destroying my street cred to write a positive review of the Eagles? Probably not. But if I'm being honest and putting my preconceived ideas behind, it was a surprisingly good album that I might actually return to.

Take it Easy is one of the top songs to come from this group, and a top ten American anthem of all time. Damn near everybody over the age of 40 who listens to Rock n Roll will know the words to this feel good gem. The rest of the album is alright… later albums were better. 4 Stars for the leadoff to a great American rock band. God Bless The Eagles!

I don’t hate the Eagles

Good classic rock

Classic Eagles. Not quite 5 Star territory, but the album is vintage American rock

Peaceful easy feeling

You know, it's always interesting to try and look at why people hate bands like Eagles so much. Why do people hate Eagles? Is it because they're bad? I don't think so. I like this album. I'll get into that in a bit though. Is it because they're overplayed? I'm sure it is for some, but I don't know if that explains everything. Is it because of The Big Lebowski? It's probably played a part in things. Well, I don't think that really matters for this review. What matters is how I feel, and I feel good about this album. I do happen to like Hotel California quite a bit more, but this debut of theirs isn't too bad. Admittedly, I can kind of see why some people have called the Eagles bland or boring. I disagree, but it makes more sense to me than the blandness claims for a band like Steely Dan. This album has good things though. The writing isn't too complex, but it's also not so shallow to the point of outrage. The style here is what really makes me like Eagles. It's definitely on the softer side of "soft rock" but I don't think that's exactly a bad thing. Sometimes you just want an album that you can put on to bring a nice vibe to like a chore session or something. I think this album is great for that. And of course, the songs are good. With classics like "Take it Easy" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling," (I am just now noticing that they both have "easy" in the name) it would be kind of hard to deny the ability of the Eagles to make some all-time classics. This is a nice album. Not quite peak music, but it appeals to me. Light 4/5.

now here’s an album to listen to before i die

This is a record full of incredible highs and relatively middling lows. The album starts out with what I would consider to be not just one the Eagles best songs, but one of the greatest country rock n roll songs ever recorded. I hesitate to call the Eagles “southern rock” when as far as I know Don Henley is the only member who was actually from the south, but it definitely qualifies as country-rock anyways. Regardless of genre or classification, “Take it Easy” is an excellent song and I will never not enjoy listening to it. The rest of the album has hits and misses, “Witchy Woman” is objectively a banger, but songs like “Most of Us are Sad” and “Train Leaves Here This Morning” are a bit of a slog to get through. This is overall a very strong album, and I don’t believe the lows really detract from the highs, but they do bring the rating down a bit. 4*

a me questo vibe country rock piace parecchio. e take it easy ce l'ho salvata in playlist da un milione di anni. bello bello.

The Eagles are a phenomenal band but find this album just lacks the extra hit to stick it firmly into a 5. 4.5 sure for the lush harmonies, the deceptive songwriting skills making subtle twists in the chords you barely notice but inform the melodies, and the guitars.

Very good. American classic

I do not hate the fucking Eagles. Fwoo! Nice change of pace to see someone saying that, huh? But seriously, I've never had a problem with the Eagles. I've long enjoyed "Hotel California", and when the randomizer finally gave me an excuse to take in the entire album, I was **very** happy with what I heard. Not to mention, I've recently entered "Desperado" and "Lyin' Eyes" into my regular rotation, and those are both great songs. I even really like this parody I've heard of the group's soft country rock material, "Dead Cicada" by "the Beagles." Check it out; it's good stuff. Here, though, we find the band at the beginning of their career, before the soft country rock and all such. This is the band at their most basic... And it's pretty good! Some very nice early 70's rock, adjacent to the vein of Thin Lizzy and ZZ Top, to crib a note from a fellow group member. Like, it's nothing on the level that I'd proclaim it "classical 70's rock" like I did HOTEL CALIFORNIA, but, yeah, I'unno, I can hardly hear anything that would cause people to hate them — unless you're just **that** hard on "dad rock," I guess. I suppose if there's any issue I take with it, it's that I might miss how much they'd refined their sound on HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Comparing these two albums is hardly fair, of course, and it's not to say one is significantly worse than the other... But there was an air of bliss I remember having around HOTEL CALIFORNIA that I just didn't get from listening to this. Maybe it's just they've yet to really work soft rock into their sound... I'unno. But still, I'm more a dad at my core than I'm not, so this stuff is just great to a gal with tastes like mine. Even in the parts that don't sound as unique to the Eagles as I think they should... And even then, there's still "Earlybird" with that banjo leading the charge to balance things out, sooooo, y'know. I don't even really have too many words to say about it, honestly. I thought I would, but... Nah. It's just a real fine slice of 70's country-adjacent rock. It speaks for itself. I don't think it would convince anyone who **does** actually hate the fucking Eagles to change their mind, and certainly I think they'd go on to do better things later, as a debut album showcasing the band at their most basic... Yeah, it's a damn fine one. So, all y'all: take it easy, I say. It's a good time.

Nothin' much to say besides its just some good ol' Rock and Roll. Solid 4 Stars.

Some big hits, the rest of the album is more folksy fun tho

7/10…country rock

I am not a big fan of Eagles. But still they produced "nice" songs. Can't really describe them differently. They are songs which flow by in the background. There is nothing edgy about them, nothing special, nothing unexpected. And the same I think about this album. If it would be possible, I'd give it a 3,5 but it's better than 3 so it'll be a 4.

Quality stuff. Not The Eagles' best output but it's fantastic nonetheless. I enjoyed the array of non-radio tracks which I don't hear quite so often.

Favorite Track: Witchy Woman

I unironically, full throatedly love Take it Easy. The rest of the album I could take or leave but was good enough to get this to a 4. 2 British and 2 American albums this week. Who will win?

It was good. I don't listen to 70s music often, but I had fun with some of these tracks. (7.5/10)

Great harmonies, and a strong input from every songwriter - more variety than I had remembered

Great collection of songs, but at times it felt like they didn't flow well together

Day503 - a great band with great songs but if i never heard them again i’d be ok

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Eagles’ first album is packed with great songs and an easy, laid-back vibe that makes it a smooth listen from start to finish. It’s not something I play all the time, but when I’m feeling nostalgic, it’s a go-to. Solid classic rock with timeless appeal.

Pretty good

Pretty solid outing by Eagles. My standouts were Tryin', Take It Easy, and my favorite, Witchy Woman. Overall, a much better album than I expected.

Un álbum que combina country, rock, pop y hasta un toque de soul. Me gusta cuanto más se aleja del estilo country. Logran música con mucho groove. El trabajo de voces y la calidad de grabación es excepcional.

Amazing but it gets pretty boring

Manages to pull off both fun dancing vibes and gorgeous harmonies on slower songs. Couple of songs that I'll be skipping on future listens, but there definitely will be future listens. Favourite song: Take It Easy (or Train Leaves Here This Morning) Least: Most of Us Are Sad (or Take the Devil)

Always liked the Eagles. Damn good debut even though they didn’t really write two of the biggest hits.

The singles from this album are great, the rest are kinda meh.

The Dude may hate the Eagles, but their debut album is actually pretty good. “Take It Easy” is an all-time banger and a hell of a way to kick things off — just pure good vibes and great harmonies. The first half of the album is super solid, though it does taper off a bit on the back end. Still, “Chug All Night” was a nice surprise I hadn’t heard before and ended up really liking it. All in all, not a perfect album, but a strong debut and a good listen front to back. Favorite Song: "Take It Easy"

ZawPaing owes his career to these guys.

I know Eagles get a lot of hate but they did that country thing really well. Probably not much better than here. There’s a great documentary which documents the history. And Glyn Johns the producer says it’s a huge mistake for them to become a rock band. And it might not have been financially. But aesthetically he’s right. There’s a reason ‘take it easy’ is overplayed. Peaceful Easy Feeling is sublime. Yes they may not have been the most pleasant people. But here they get it right. 3,5 stars.

Fun and easy listening, I really enjoyed it. Varied with some slower songs too so it didn't get tedious Standout tracks - Tryin', Witchy Woman, Take the Devil High 4

Album art:3

Great album

Previously rated: Hotel California (4/5) ************************* Country rock with some well known songs and also a couple of lame ones like Most of Us Are Sad. Favorite track: Witchy Woman

A good indication of the great things to follow. 4 stars or B+.

This is good but not quite as good as I was expecting somehow.

Take It Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling are classics.

This was just good easy listening, worth returning to

Enjoy this album as it had variety and they are a good listen. Some of their best on this album.

All I can think of is the Seinfeld episode that has Witchy Woman in it

I liked this, not as much as Hotel California but their harmonies are just so good. Like Henley's voice more than Frey's but they both sound pretty good. Really liked "Witchy Woman". They sound really good.

Virkelig bare godt folk rock soft rock. Country rock. Det er sgu meget laid back og fedt at høre. Minder mig om Australien.

Liked this more than I thought I would lol. Combo of rock, country and soul. Upbeat and lively but also mellow. I love the melodies, harmonies, and backing vocals. Cool lyrics. Also the songs are a good length, not too long.

I guess I never really gave the Eagles a real listen past their unavoidable "Classic Rock Radio" tracks. This was more country than I anticipated. Not bad.

Still do not like country

Awesome debut from the Eagles. Lots of hits, great lyrics, and of course their trademark sound. I’ve always been a huge fan of the Eagles, so of course I’ve heard this album many times, but it still never disappoints.

We had The Eagles' later album Hotel California early in our journey, and I kind thought it wasn't great - a couple of obvious hits and then a bunch of junk. This was much better. It /was/ a few obvious hits (Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feeling) and a bunch of 'junk'.... but the 'junk' was jamm-y and enjoyable rather than boring and self-indulgent. My pet theory would be that Glyn Johns pointed them more at the country-rock stuff (Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, even sometimes Steve Miller and Aerosmith).

Song: take it easy i like this song because this song is country music kind of and i really love this song and i love this album cover because its name is the eagles and my brothers football team is the eagles and i love the eagles Song: Witchy women this song is good i like it, It is talking about witches of course its not my favorite, but it's okay Song: peaceful easy feeling it is like a country again and it reminds me of me and my family at a restaurant for breakfast. It's a sunny day and we are having a great time together but it's just my opinion of course and it reminds me me playing outside when the sunset is going down

Have you ever wanted to listen to music? Then this is perfect for you. I really like this album because I know the songs from there and I really enjoy them. Another reason why I like it is because it is country music and I actually really like country. I would definitely recommend this album to someone else because I actually really like It and would love to make someone else love it too. Plus I just feel like country music is coming back to style a little bit right now and this album would be perfect for that. I would give this album a solid 4.5 stars, but if I had to round I would probably give it a solid 5 stars, mostly because I really liked the song take it easy.

The cover looks nice. I thought "Take it easy" was good. The lyrics were good and I loved the music. "Witchy Woman" was good. I liked the lyrics and the music was pretty good too. I liked "Peaceful Easy Feeling" because the singing was gentle and the music was pretty. I would recommend this album.

this website is stalking my playlists i swear great great album witchy woman 10/10

Very good undemanding music, most of the songs were already familiar to me but I don't think I listened to this album all the way through before.

February 20, 2025 HL: “Peaceful Easy Feeling”, “Earlybird”, “Train Leaves Here This Morning”, “Witchy Woman”, “Take It Easy” I find I don’t have much to say about the Eagles’ 1972 debut, other than I struggle to say anything bad about their music, besides that it’s among quite a few country rock albums on this list. Someone who I’m surprised never made the cut is Jackson Browne, who cowrote the earworm “Take it Easy”. I heard For Everyman (1973) for the first time recently, and he also leads his album with that song. Scorekeeper! Neil Young: 9, The Byrds: 5, Jackson Browne: 0

Take it easy is an all time great. So is peaceful easy feeling. The rockers are ok.

It has charm and there are some outstandingly good songs on it. Easy listening, laid back, a groovy little album. It's sort of dad-rock, but there's nothing wrong with that, I quite like it.

Nice rocking sounds.

Pretty cozy at times otherwise pretty nice.

It’s a nice start.

classical

Easy listening with some howling guitars Dad rock to the core. Top: “Take It Easy” and “Peaceful Easy Feeling”

Some pretty iconic songs on here.

I like the eagles and these songs have helped myself and other musicians around the world make a living and bring joy to the masses. We are all the eagles

More success than talent.

Good album, probably the one I’ve known the most of so far!

Is this the birth of dad rock? God, this has got some dumb songs on it. Chug All Night? But the seeds are there. I can see how this was successful in 1972. Imagine calling up your downstairs neighbor for songwriting help, who happens to be Jackson Browne.

Love the country influenced guitar. Always loved this album. Favorites Eagles album actually.

The Dude is to Eagles as Sideways is to Merlot. Not my favorite band but think they get shat on too much. I’m rounding up cuz eff the haters. Has several hits I enjoy. Other tracks aren’t as top notch but still enough to get me over the hump. I’d gladly agree to Which-eh Woman being me and Elaine Benes’s song… 3.75/5

Good album, couple of classic songs.

Forever a favorite

I like Hotel California better but this was a very good debut album.

got the hits - an enjoyable listen

Huh. Well, my expectations were low and I wasn't crazy for Hotel California. But this album is actually straight heat? Was not expecting that. 3.5/5

I'll never forgive The Big Lebowski for making me think I shouldn't like this band. I have grown to appreciate their country rock and their harmonies are solid fucking gold. "Train Leaves Here" is a perfect example of those harmonies in action. Love the banjo on "Earlybird" but were the sound effects really necessary? Too many weak points to be five stars - "Chug All Night" does nothing for me. "Witchy Woman" really doesn't fit in.

pleasant listening from the hits to everything inbetween

It's the eagles, you know what you're gonna get

Classic rock is classic. Those high-flying harmonies just need to be bottled and sold as pick-me-ups.

Tight rhythm and great songwriting. Creative melodies and vocal harmonies. Great album

Yeah, it's easy listening classic/dad rock, but in the year of our lord 2024 where music is increasingly curated for 30-second TikTok reels and our ever-shortening attention spans, I still can't help but respect the hell out of this classic record. That said - I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man.

Not the best eagles album, but a solid one, I know you’ll do better when I get to hotel California

It's the eagles. Strong start to the album. The middle was just alright and then another string finish. I do not know what is going on in the beginning of earlybird. But I like it.

Starts out with such a banger

A few great songs here and plenty of wonderful harmonies. Peaceful and easy.

Enjoyable album, a few tracks didn’t quite do it for me but there was nothing bad on here.

Certainly not their best album, but two of their best songs in Take It Easy and Peaceful, Easy Feeling. Witchy Woman is no slouch either.

4.5/5 Really nice! Highlights: Train Leaves Here This Morning, Most of Us Are Sad, Earlybird

A marginal 4. I thought 3 was a bit mean. Why only integers? Some classic tracks on there but it gets a bit soft and uninspiring in parts. Defo heard some guitars towards the end which sounded like Bernard Butler was playing

Great classic rock.

The sound of summer road trips.

Really great.

Pretty impressive debut. These guys were pretty good. Take it Easy is an all time classic.

11/1/24. Very solid rock and roll here, great vocals and songwriting. Would be a perfect album for a car ride! Can't really skip any of the tracks here.

Клевая группа, хороший альбом, приятное настроение

I love that rock hippie vibe. Although it does not hold this for the entire album, some songs are a bit folky and slow.

But I'm already standing, on the ground ....one of the most beautiful songs ever.

I dig the eagles. Especially Don Henley. Their music is well constructed, impeccably performed, and wildly popular. This album is just ok. 3.5 stars for me.

Classic.

A great “look back” for big fans. 3 major hits. No filler, but quite a bit of odd material (Chug All Night and Train Leaves Here This Mornin). Harmonies all over the place - sounds very CSNY from the decade before I cant believe that Bernie Leadon was from the Flying Burrito Brothers. Also, how the fuck did they get Glyn Johns to produce this??? I liked Take The Devil because its sounds like the eagles didnt know who they were and scrambled to make a neil young song

Good dad rock, easy listening

Great album

Yeah, good ass album. Listened to take it east for years so I had some idea what to expect with the album. Whole lot of great guitar use and sound from acoustic guitar to electric. I don't have a lot of notes for this one, just a super pleasant album to listen to. 4/5.

Pretty chill

I’m not a country western fan, but I like my rock leaning on the country sound. I haven’t listened to much of the Eagles other than their Greatest Hits and the Hotel California album, but this album is definitely up my alley. Enjoyed the full, short and sweet record. Fully recommend! High 4

Another debut album with great classics but also non-hits that still hit. A solid 4.5 for me.

- Favs while listening to the album: Witchy Woman, Most of us are sad, Take the Devil -Take It Easy is perfect for a country drive!! - When I hear this Eagles standard, I can only imagine the excitement of fans when they put the record on for the first time in 1972 - It must have blown their minds for it still astonishes me to this day as to how developed the musicality of the Eagles is on this debut - HOWEVER I do have to say, and they’ve done the eagles song dirty here, its seriously overplayed which unfortunately means I really can’t listen to this too often (same applies to Peaceful Easy Feeling) - MOST OF US ARE SAD: is sensational! the guitar strumming and vocal harmonies are insanely beautiful - the guitar ‘solo‘ at 2:15 is so beautiful, the tone is just perfect so soothing - also I usually do not enjoy country(-ish) music, but this album is a perfect mixture of rock and a few country elements (eg.: Train leaves here this morning) - these vocal harmonies really struck me - the guitar tone and composition is so simple yet so effective which just proves, that sometimes you do not need complicated riffs to touch someone’s heart :) - what this album feels like: a long roadtrip in a VW T3 Westfalia (my dream car) on a sunny day with my dog sitting next to me vibing, the windows are down and the wind is blowing through my hair - TAKE THE DEVIL: can someone speak about the two great and really tasty guitar solos? Again, so simple yet so effective!! The rhythm is seriously addictive - also: the cover is so iconic I just love the album covers in the 1970s - This is a great album overall, although two songs are really bothering me on this album due to being immensely overplayed - it shows a band with a signature sound that normally takes others years to develop - a great album is a piece of music, that is able to transcend my personal preferences and this album was able to do that :D OVERALL: 4/5

Great album!

# Playlist track - Train Leaves Here This Morning # Notes - I like the atmosphere, the laid-back vibe. - The best moments remind me of The Grateful Dead, actually. - +1 star for great cover art. - A mostly peaceful, very enjoyable album. Recommend.

Classic

The soundtrack of my teen years. I was never a huge Eagles fan, but these songs worked.

Goes a bit country. Some classics on here. Solid 4.5 but cant’t give it a 5 for some reason.

Nice to hear where the Eagles got their start. Take It Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling are classics, but the rest is just okay. 3.5 stars.

Really enjoyed this. Sounded quite fresh 8/10

3.5/5 stars

This was a surprising listen. I never considered myself an Eagles fan but I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected I would

this had some bops, not as good as hotel california but really solid

I was kind of dissappointed with this album because I had high expectations Some of these songs were absolute bangers 10/10 material, and the other half were kinda bland? I wanted more upbeat guitar! This album was a 3.7 rounded up to 4 ⭐️

Nice easy listen, also witchy woman

Classic songs by a classic band.

Pretty chill. Low 4.

Prolly cause I’ve heard it the most but take it easy is def the song that I paid most attention to, nice listen overall tho

nice'n'easy early 70s country-rock, several lead singers make it less homogenous

nice easy listening

Kann man anhören. Ziemlich Countrylastig.

Solid album from start to finish with maybe the most on the nose song title I’ve ever seen, “Most of Us are Sad.”

4.5, need to listen again, may be a 5

Chilling on the corner Jameis Winston down in Nola!

The big hits make the album, the rest was alright. I dont get the hate.

The first half was pretty good but it declined over the course of the album. Pales in comparison to Hotel California. Nonetheless, radio hits are present on this album. Undoubtedly a valliant debut project for the band.

These guys have always been amazing at their harmonies, and the music is nice too. Lot of songs here I hadn't heard before, and I quite enjoyed it.

Das war jetzt nicht spannend, aber hat so schön zur stimmung gepasst, 1a pool work musik

Not as good as Hotel California, it was alright though.

Favorite Tracks: Take It Easy Witchy Woman Peaceful Easy Feeling

This is one of those albums that I hate that I love. I attribute most of it to the influence of Bernie Leadon, who adds most of the country elements, but Glenn Fred's vocals are also exceptional on this album. I also give Jackson Browne credit for the pop perfection that is "Take It Easy". Otherwise, fuck the Eagles. Except for Joe Walsh, I like that guy.

Notes: I listened to the 2013 remaster of this album over the course of the weekend. This album was a favorite of my dad's, but I'd never given it a serious listen. I found it easy, fun, and enjoyable listening. The instrumentals were excellent. Track 1: car ride feel, relaxed and upbeat. "country", weekends, amazing instrumentals. I really enjoyed this track Track 2: slower, "country" liked the vocals Track 3: Fierce and almost ominous instrumentals, nice vocals, confident tone. I found the song rather average. Track 4: thoughtful and slow, I appreciated this track. Track 5: change of pace, happy "summertime", upbeat, good car ride tune. Track 6: slow, easy, crossroads Track 7: drums. Ok lyrically but impressive instrumentally Track 8: interesting, upbeat and unique. work vs. play, freedom, "country". Enjoyable. Track 9: nothing special, great radio fodder. I'm not with the hype. Summertime. Track 10: I liked this one, it goes well with movement or exercise. About youth, art, new life in big city - I can relate! Overall impression: This album had excellent instrumentals and a summertime feel. Lyrically, a bit simple, touched on youth and freedom. Easy listening. 4/5

3.5 stars. Classic-est of rock. Inoffensive dad-rock that is nice to have as a soundtrack in the background. Standout is the microcosm of the album “Take It Easy”.

Eagles were a great band with some decent tunes.

smooth

The template for the rest of their catalog, but with that little EXTRA SOMETHING that superstar artists have before they hit it big. A little... hunger? Passion? Hate to use that word, but there it is. Before Glenn Frey acquired an unhealthy appetite for his own songs, and possibly coke. Starts with one of the most iconic guitar chords in rock since A Hard Day's Night. Listened with 'beginner's mind' and really enjoyed almost every track except the forced-sounding ballad "Most of Us Are Sad." Earlybird was especially surprising, the band is having fun and it sounds like it, kind of a post-hippie campfire singalong. I like this banjo-driven profundity more than I should. Have been a hater for the longest time, but I've gained a new appreciation for Eagles after hearing this (I think for the first time). 1972 definitely came HARD with the country, between this and Neil Young's Harvest, these successes led to that mid-seventies MOR AOR stuff like Bread and America.

Incredible debut album! You can love their style along with me, or you can hate it, but they changed the direction of popular rock music in the early 70s. In my opinion their influence was so strong because their music was a great combination of fun and gorgeous! Those harmonies, that sense of freedom! Eagles girl forever baby!

this is where easy listening began.

So nobody is gonna mention the wild banjo parts in Take It Easy? I got a fever, and it's definitely more banjo. 4/5

This is a classic rock album I was raised on, and it will always bring a sense of comfort no matter how old it gets. While it features some upbeat songs, the overall vibe of the album is laid-back and relaxed. Musically, it’s rock at its core, but with a country and folk undertone that adds a rootsy feel.

Undeniably important album. And a big hit in my family specifically.

This was a lot more Americana than I realized it. +1 for all the banjo hanging out in there. Overall, a very chill cohesive album that I'd definitely listen to again. Standout Tracks: Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Most of Us Are Sad, Peaceful Easy Feeling

Además son muy buenas las rockeras "Chug All Night", "Nightingale" y "Tryin'", así como las baladas "Most of Us Are Sad" y "Train Leaves Here This Morning".

Can't believe I'm giving this 4. I don't hate the fuckin Eagles, man.

1972 - Good Country Rock

Like a refreshing nap.

Simple, straightforward good-time rock. Nothing that blew my mind, but nothing I didn’t enjoy too

A lot of good songs, will definitely revisit. Some not so great songs, but for the most part I enjoyed the album

Lil top heavy but still a great album

Solid debut entry from The Eagles. Three top tier radio hits and some great deep cuts including “Take the Devil.” You just can’t beat their production quality and harmonies.

Another solid album from The Eagles. Points taken away for Earlybird, which completely ruined the cohesive vibe the rest of the album had going.

4 for the album cover alone

I like the Eagles, but not sure about this whole album.

Nice sound great voices
