Only listened to half. Know sexy boy

High quality if slightly overfamiliar burbling

3/5 Favorite Song: You Make It Easy

Good groove chill out.

Overall Rating - 3.00/5 (6.00/10). Solid electronica. Not necessarily my style of music, but still good.

estuvo bueno, flow bacano pero lwk no me gustó

Better than I thought it was gonna be! Nice and dreamy with some very nice sections x

Felt very much like it could be used for instrumentals for Steve Soderbergh films I.e the Ocean’s Trilogy. Could be ahead of its time. Coming out in 1998, but more 2010s vibe. Possible Daft Punk inspiration. Album Rank: 6.2 Favorite Song: Remember

#991. I'm not entirely sure i have an opinion on this one. 3/5: something

Can't say this generated much of an option either way for me. It's OK enough, doesn't offend my ears. It's nice enough background when on. Really struggle to to have much more of an option. It represents another strand in pop music so fine It's on the list, it lapses into similar to film music of the time, but we can't have that here so this will have to do, though its not as strong composition wise. Yes, I'm another who has seen the cover not knowing what to expect. 3 star

Air is neat.

I really like it. But strictly as like, background nothingness in order to not have to pay attention to it. When I do actively tune in, it's interesting enough, but man it does not hold my attention at all.

Nice background music, sort of ambient but with some interesting vibes

I was fully prepared to give this a 1 or a 2 based off the cover. Actually pretty surprised. I didn't hate it...it's got some grooves, it's got some hooks. It's cool. Probably wouldn't come back to it, but it's a solid 3. Glad I listened to it and can appreciate it.

Pretty good, not my cup of tea, but it was funny with good instrumentals.

Nice and chill, with some pretty cool songs, but overall a bit boring and I found it dragged even though it was only background music.

I do like this album

A chilled out Daft Punk. I don't know who did it first but I'm so over robotic vocoder vocals. And Sexy Boy, for all its success, is not very good. The rest is better. Good enough for a 3. (Listens : 1)

Good for an ambient noise album, but probably wouldn’t listen to it again

3/5 Chill and lo fi. Favorite Songs: La femme d'argent You Make It Easy Talisman Le voyage de Pénélope

very movie soundtrack, which makes sense because they then went on to make the virgin suicides soundtrack. very cool however i would only return to a few of the standouts like sexy boy

Saved: Sexy Boy, All I Need

Hm... more enjoyable than I expected

3 1/2 Stars: Took me right back to my college radio days. A very lo-fi vibey album of French electronica that plays a little too safe, but I can see why this was highly regarded at the time. A good background album while you're doing other things.

I probably need another listen before I can determine whether this is average or genuinely good ambient pop. I enjoyed it at times and was unengaged other times during the listening process. 3 seems safe for now

fav songs: la femme d'argent you make it easy stylish, mellow, atmospheric 50/100

lekker sfeerfje terwijl ik de was ophing

Kinda like weird keyboard techno but in a pregame jazz bar type way before it becomes a jazz bar but is trying to get through a good weird vibe

6/10 - It’s not my style of music, but I see the appeal. It’s pleasant and interesting. I would give this some spin if I wasn’t wanting an electronic sound. Glad it was on the list.

I like the songs here that have lyrics, but too many of the instrumental tracks tend towards background music. It's all pleasant enough though. 6/10

Gorgeous album with swooping melodies and gentle beats. Funnily enough the only song that doesn't really fit the vibe is "All I Need" which is a great song on its own. This album makes me think of hangovers and lying in the sun.

Perfectly pleasant background music for a suburban cocktail bar’s happy hour but you don’t really need to listen to it. A generous 3.

nice one

La femme d'argent - 4 Sexy boy - 4 All i need - 4 Kelly watch the stars - 2 Talisman - 3 Remember - 2 You make it easy - 3 Ce matin la - 3 New star in the sky - 2 Le voyage de penelope - 3

really pleasant listen. pretty good instrumentation although it never really rose above the level of pleasant

OK album

Why would they go on a safari to the moon? Are they stupid? 2.5 stars.

This album made me feel nostalgic

Background music.

nice music, interesting sound, but it's not really my type of thing.

Good album I'd never heard of before. Unfortunately the final few tracks brought it down from a potential 4 to a 3

It was not the how of music that I would have chosen for myself, but it was enjoyable and easy to listen to. I liked the electronic music vibe… it was ok overall.

Way more enjoyable than I typically find electronic albums. Chill. A good listen overall. Wouldn't mind it as background music is a bar or something. I liked "Remember."

Different but ok

Favourite tracks: All I Need, Remember Really nice soft electronica, kept me interested all the way through although the tracks with vocals were an obvious stand out to me. 3.5/5

this was a good pick for a really nice day, the opening track is really great, i will say i do have beef with that sexy boy song purely just out of annoyance, as the album goes on my thoughts throughout each song would shift from “idk how i feel about it” to “okay i like it” until i hit remember, that is my stand out of the album, i enjoyed it more than i thought i would, take songs like you make it easy, its a pretty good song, i enjoyed it, nothing less than that is how i’d describe this album, i’m surprised at how much i did enjoy it but it is pretty good.

It was fine. Atmospheric, electronic music. 3/5

Review - better than I expected but still not great. Score - 6/10 Need to listen? YES

Best Track - "Sexy Boy"

Nothing really grabbed me here, but it was a pleasant album to listen to.

7/10 good to get one i haven't heard for my first pick, very good chill vibes chillax stuff w chills

I remember when this album came out, Sexy Boy was playing everywhere, and everyone around me was suddently into downtempo, lounge bars and after-parties. I had a knee-jerk reaction to it, because I was an edgy contrarian. It was a bit unfair of me, so I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to give the complete album a chance. I'll admit I was wrong - it's a beautifully crafted record, with groovy samples, a distinct retro vibe and a very peculiar blend of sexy and psychedelic beats. It takes its time to slowly build a unique soundscape that has certainly influenced many artists over the years, and I can see now how groundbreaking it was. That being said, it's still not really my kind of music. Although I'm much more open to EDM now, I always struggle with downtempo. It's pleasant enough, but I can never shake the feeling that it's just background music designed to be forgotten while you're doing something else. If I try to listen with focus, it bores me pretty quickly ; it just lacks the extra depth that I need to remain interested for a whole 40 minutes. It was a nice experience overall, but I don't think I'll come back to it. If I need trippy laid-back music, trip hop does it better. 6/10

Finally, some French stuff. I’m not a huge fan, but it does the job pretty well. The whole retro 70s vibe is genuinely charming and gives the album a cool atmosphere.

Really enjoyed the front half of the album, but started to lose interest. Ethereal, dancy, and good times still to be had.

-i’ve heard this one before. very interesting album. Air has such a unique sound -La femme d’argent kinda carried the album right off the bat imo, the rest was good but didn’t stand out quite as much. i do like it more than the Virgin Suicides score which i initially gave a 4 but ah well -Favorites: La femme d’argent, Sexy Boy, All I Need

This was good! I listen to a lot of music in this vein already (good background music for working!) so there wasn’t anything noteworthy here for me, but this was still an enjoyable album! Definitely have found a new band to check out. 3/5.

easy listening

Interesting and chill album, close to a 4

Robot Jazz. Robot Folk? I don't know, I kind of liked it more than I thought I would. Talisman just sounded like the epitome of cool Daft Punk meets Beck. 3

Cool ambient, relaxed album. It was excellent background listening, and I didn't get pissed off or annoyed by any of it. I didn't get a whole lot of excitement either, but it wasn't bad. 3/5, pretty inoffensive, was maybe groundbreaking at the time but doesn't do a whole lot for me these days. Would listen again though!

An understated, chill vibe Favourite track: La femme d'argent

Enjoyable but forgettable

This is ok. I'll give it a soft 3.

Chill pleasant experience. The fusion of acoustic instruments, electronic elements and vocals were pretty nice a bit forgettable doe 6.5-10

Nice summer 90s long grass sleepy not really for a workday vibes. Always forget they did sexy boy. High 3

Sexy boy is transcendent the rest OK

Fav- new star in the sky 3/5

That was a good vibe and great background music. I don't know if I would just sit down and listen to the album though. Or go to a concert by them.

I’ll be honest, never really gave air a good listen to before. That was wrong. Really enjoyed this! 3.4

Was completely unfamiliar with this and assumed at first that it was much more recent. Very much of its time, and reminiscent of Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk, maybe a little Moby, and some of the French EDM that came later.

This was cool, a definite vibe kinda album. Not totally my jam, but chill.

Schön und beruhigend

Funny techno sound scapes. Fuels visual imagination. I like it.

This was pleasant enough, especially the instrumental tracks.

i like it, nice to chill to/have in the background

better than anticipated, mellow and listenable

Awesome video game music

Crazy the times we live in. I have a bunch of songs of theirs already in playlists but have never listened to the album or even knew who they were. Real nice easy listening electronica. Good for background. Top albums of all time? I dunno.

You have to be in the right mood for this album. I was irritated by the mix of indie pop songs in between. The instrumental songs were far more enjoyable.

I liked this album a lot considering I have not enjoyed any other electronic music I have tried. The first piece La femme d' argent is very good. I also liked Talisman.

listen to again, might be a 4

This album feels like getting abducted by a ufo, but ultimately being at peace with it. A little odd, but great background music to do your APGOV vocab terms to fav track- talisman

This is possibly era defining music. Not my era, so was not previously familiar with Air beyond Sexy Boy. I think it's a good album with a strong and distinctive sound. Relaxing to listen to without ever being bland.

Not too bad. Quite nice

Harmless, floaty, inoffensive, background music, but background music nonetheless. There was a lot of this kind of thing around at the time - Lemon Jelly were another lot - so I struggle to understand why it's considered essential. It's funny how I seem to know most of the tracks without ever having owned, or actively paid any attention to the album - perhaps it was endlessly fleeced for TV ads, etc, meaning I just soaked it up without ever really intending too. This is ironic, because really, it's the kind of record you only need to listen to once. That said, it was good to hear All I Need again as it reminded me that my car insurance is due.

I think its very pretty, but like not something you would pick out of a croud. Like a girl who has a okay face but a boring personality. Not my fave ever but not bad. It just didn't really catch my attention. 5/10

The chill out vibe here is just immaculate. The ambient vibe is mostly relaxing and just feeling the music wash over you. It's hardly Air's fault that they're French. This doesn't really feel like an album that's conducive to listening all the way through in the nature of this project, as it's much more of a downtempo background music kind of album. "Sexy Boy" is the stand out track for sure, and some of the latter half of the album kind of blends together into an ambient wash, but I'd definitely relisten to this one in a "come down at the end of the day" kind of way.

1 - La femme d'argent (starts off with a relaxed aquatic beat, kind of like Can's Future Days. There's a very loungey feel throughout this song but it burst with energy 5 minutes in; well worth the wait for that whirring noise that dominates the loudest part. Very promising start!) 4/5 2 - Sexy Boy (more dancey and big beat than anything else. The singer sort of sounds somewhere between Shirley Manson and Bilinda Butcher on this, behind all the filters and layers added to her voice. This one just goes quiet-loud-quiet for its runtime; it's a fine song nonetheless) 4/5 3 - All I Need (sparse and airy, this features Beth Hirsch giving a smooth and refined performance. A little too soft and uneventful for me, there were hundreds of song like this out at the time and no amount of wobbly bass or wind sounds will set this one apart unfortunately) 3/5 4 - Kelly Watch and the Stars (some fanciful arpeggios followed by the bass from Backstreet Boys' Larger than Life. The repeated song title is buried under layers and layers of processing. This one does the same thing for most of its runtime barring some electronics whooping up and down across its runtime) 3/5 5 - Talisman (an instrumental piece that picks up 3 minutes in. There's a driving beat and some cool chords being played beforehand so the buildup is well warranted in my mind. Very happy the album decided to move on from the background wallpaper of the previous 2 tracks) 4/5 6 - Remember (I really like the clipped, glitchy snare hits on this song; it sticks out in a good way amongst all the romantic-sounding instrumentation. The vocoded lyrics beg the listener to remember something - anything - and I find everything really comes together on this one. One of the better songs on this album for sure) 4/5 7 - You Make It Easy (Beth Hirsch returns for this song and it's much more musically interesting than her previous feature. There's a real sense of movement here and a welcome change in instrumentation in that strange sounding keyboard that darts around this song) 3.5/5 8 - Ce matin-là (a soft alarm sound with some even softer piano chords. The trumpets are warm and inviting on this song as is the guitar; really the whole thing feels like returning to a safe place after being in an anxious mire. I give it all its points on that image alone) 3.5/5 9 - New Star in the Sky (the longest song barring the opener. It starts off pensive with that lonesome harmonica sounding guitar (?) A really unusual sound for an album so bright and wide-eyed. There's not too much else going on despite the song going for 5 and 1/2 minutes, though the chord resolutions that pop up here and there are quite satisfying) 3.5/5 10 - Le voyage de Pénèlope (another loungey trip hop song in the vein of something like Morcheeba. It's got those stuttering horn sounds which are a really welcome change from everything else being played so straight. Despite it being the closer I feel like I'm waiting for something to happen but it never quite happens. A fine way to end this album I suppose; I can see why it was so heavily recommended by YouTube, being adventurous and alternative while still being backgroundy enough that people could pay attention to the good parts and say it was great) 3.5/5 OVERALL - 7.2/10

A psychedelic ensemble of tracks that feel like the faint yellow spots you see when you stare at the sun for too long.

Not bad not bad, slower beats than I expected for electronic but overall liked it

ny hz norm

I listened to most of this album on a run earlier. It might have been too downtempo for a run but nevertheless enjoyable. Extremely vibey and atmospheric. Sexy Boy was my favorite of the tracks, with Talisman coming in right behind. I’ll definitely continue to revisit this classic in the future.

I liked a lot of this, but years ago the song "Remember" was on the playlist for a store I worked at. I HATED that song. I'm wondering if the songs on this album that I like now would become just as obnoxious under the same circumstances. Some music holds up on repeat listens, and some does not.

Favorite Song: La femme d'argent

Cool, funky, dreamlike but ultimately a little underwhelming

5/10 I enjoyed the listen it was very atmospheric. Not sure if I'll revisit.

Bubbly and spongy

This kind of music was huge where I grew up, so this takes right back to 90's Bristol, driving around town in the back of dad's car. I don't mind the odd song, but the full album was hard to sit through. I do appreciate it though.

Was a nice album with good vibe will listen to it again

Luscious, chill vibes brah…sorry…mon frère

The Air up there is good. These chilled out, slightly daft punks did well with their debut release. I liked some of the songs featuring the female vocals like "Sexy Boy"..."Remember" is top track though. I was floating around the moon with this one. Perfect timing with the Artemis II crew landing today. I let the Spotify just run after album completed and I am really into this relaxing electronica these days. I want to think it is like how past generations moving to the jazz and blues as they age and mellow out. Great record to listen to at work crunching out reports. I will return on future missions with this crew...3.35 stars.

Pretty cool lower-fi electronica album. Nice debut from a french duo that took more of a downbeat chill approach instead of ramping up a bunch electronic dance beats. It doesn't finish as strong as it starts as the back half of the album starts to run out of steam but I still enjoyed the listen for the most part. Probably not much I will take from this album in the long run as a lot of the songs tend to fade together as you get through the listen. It definitely works for some background music while chilling. Decent entry for 1001, glad I listened to Moon Safari. 2.94 stars

First two songs on albums were worldwide hits - def. heard them before otherwise a very late 90s album. Songs that could have easily ended up on the Garden State soundtrack.

Forget all the other albums that I've referred to as atmospheric, this right here is the one that deserves the most, this is the real deal of them all. This is also a very relaxing album, it's full of feelings of tranquillity. With all the positive feelings just mentioned there is a bit of a negative, which is that near the end of the album got a bit boring. So this album is a strong 3, just not quite enough to round it up. Highlight Song/s: "Sexy Boy" and "Remember"

1. La femme d'argente

Super chill album. I wouldn't say this is a consistent album, but the highs are spectacular, the lows are just kind of boring.

Air may not impress on this album, but it is a comfy listen.

It's ok, some songs are interesting. Not something I would go for, it almost seems chill out music you'd find in a store. 2,5/5.

This album fits fully into late 90s groove pop. Massive Attack, Beck, Moby, instrumental Beasties. Unfortunately, as the album goes on, is fun groove just gets weaker. It would have been up my alley, but it gets dull after a few tracks.

Sehr instrumental, entspannend.

Very chill electronical music and nice to listen to. Didn't have too much to elevate it to the next level but a pleasant listen regardless.

Enjoyed the vibe of this album, lots of variety with a lot of fuzzy layers and texture. Ultimately nothing special enough to tip it into the 4 range but it was close Very High 3

This was better than most of the modern electronic music we have had. See all my previous comments on modern electronic. Nothing really new or groundbreaking here, but it didn't annoy me as much.

Like this one, heard it before, have been a HUGE fan of the first song for maybe a decade

These guys either influenced or took cues from so many people, I hear thievery corporation, bonobo, Tycho, daft punk, Fatboy slim, Moby... Some weak songs but track 1 is a real standout. Sexy Boy is not the best song on album.

At first it was, whaat..I will have to listen this now, but after whole day of listening I like it.

I enjoyed parts of this, but a lot of it was a bit of a wash. 5/10

Iconic but did not age well

Consistent but not engaging. Would listen in a very specific time, place and mood, but probably not when focusing on a task or preforming any specific activities.

jai bien aimé, je réécouterai volontiers, 3/5. ressemble a neveroddoreven de i monster.

For some reason I always think of Air as a much older band than they are. Pretty sure I've never listened to a full album from them. Easy enough to listen to. Gets your foot tapping from time to time. A few too many laser guns ruin the synth-jazz parts that can be pretty cool. Overall very chill and nice sounding. In the right context, pretty good. For me this is summer day drinking music. Solid 3 star album, good not great. Glad to have checked it out, probably won't make it onto the repeat list beyond a few songs tossed into chill out mixes. Can't really say any specific songs stand out, kind of liked "Talisman". We maybe could have gotten away with just one Air album on the list, I'll have to see if the other one changes my mind when it comes up. Oh, I just looked and the other one is the soundtrack to Virgin Suicides, barely counts.

Nice one. Really like it. I used to know a few of their songs, but I didn’t realize they were theirs

Super chill album. Great background music. Can't really remember anything from it after listening to it.

Loved this album! Saved it for background music or reading. Looking forward to discovering more like it.

Two spins of this and I’m still not sure what I think. That usually means I’ll like it on the third

Surprising find, I enjoyed this album this morning particularly like the vocals of Beth Hirsch going to her a listen. Will dive a little deeper into Air as well.

nice vibe to this

Ehhh idk, im just not really an electronica guy. This doesnt really do anything for me, 5.8/10

Really cool album. Sounds like a very chill Daft Punk. Unique calming sound and great production

Great living room musicc

Like a softer Daft Punk

un buen album for vibing. Lo pondria while working, driving, playing board games. 3/5

Classic!

Pretty jamming 80s pop

***An ok album, instrumental

Liked tubular bells more

Better than expected and I was surprised that I had actually heard one of these songs before. A solid 3 for the album. Wouldn't turn it off if I heard it in the wild.

Cool vibes 3/5

3 great tracks and a load of filler

Slow, electronic, chilled music. The kind of thing that is perfectly pleasant but lacks anything to really cling onto. Some tracks with the female vocals remind me of Madonna. Overall could be a soundtrack to a film, not bad but wouldn't choose to listen again.

Not what I usually go for but I thought it was decent

Álbum agradável. Um trabalho muito bem feito com sintetizadores. KZ D-Fi.

Though I don't usually like electronica, the dream-like quality of the songs won me over. 3

This was really fun and cool to chill out to. I would give it 3.5 if I could!

pretty enjoyable listen, though not my cup of tea

Solid beats that were pretty cool to listen to.

I don’t get that this is a favorite album for many people

I had never heard of this band before, but they seem a lot more influential than I realized. Really cool and good bass lines.

Pretty ok album overall.

145/1001 This is an odd one. It was probably odd when it was released. Sounds like a soundtrack. I’ll play this again sometime. 5/10

i know the point of this is to be low tempo and chill but i bet this would go hard nightcored. this album is simultaneously pleasant background music and also incredibly boring. it's nice to listen to, but nice in the "it's better than no music and i wouldn't want to turn it off but i wouldn't seek it out either" way. it's inoffensive is what it is. you could throw this on at low volume in a lot of different contexts and nobody would have any issue with it, but i also don't think they'd ask what's spinning. it's not that its forgettable; it's simply not something to be focused on.

sasvim neloša vibra. nije moj tip glazbe. nemam nikakvu objektivnu zamjerku

A good album, but only partly something I vibe with. 3.5 stars

This album is one of those albums that I appreciate, but it's not quite my cup of tea. I think the first few tracks are the highlights, and "Sexy Boy" being my personal favorite, but the middle gets a tad boring for me. I do think it finishes nicely with "Le voyage de Pénélope". 3.5 stars.

Pleasant

I guess it was alright. I'm not very big into electronica and more artificial sounding music (As in, sampling and artificial instruments). There are some tracks that caught my attention, and I wouldn't mind listening to them again, such as All I need. I saw some other reviews of this album, and I would have to agree, the bass parts are great. But overall, not quite my cup of tea, but I wouldn't complain if it came up in a road trip playlist.

Another album that seemed to be on constant rotation everywhere at time of release. Lovely Bacharach, Axelrod, and Gainsbourg vibes, but outside the big hits a lot of the tunes are a bit too ephemeral. Nice, however, to finally get an album from somewhere other than the US or UK.

Fun run with an album I had never listened to before start to finish. Engineering is fantastic on this one.

For me the first half of this album was much stronger than the second. Even though I don't usually love instrumentals I was really enjoying the first few songs. But the back half didn't hold my interest nearly as much. Still, this was a pleasant surprise considering I'd never heard of the band before now.

Not at all what I expected and hard for me to get a good grip on. It was pretty enough but I think I was waiting for a little more umpf.

Sounds like what whipped chocolate icing tastes like. Gets a little repetitive though.

Not a genre I normally listen to. It evokes a specific feeling and puts me in the same head space that listening to classical music does. A very smooth production.

Me gustaron varias individualmente

pretty good. “sexy boy” is horrible tho.

Album 123. Moon Safari (https://open.spotify.com/album/5dmYtZVJ1bG9RyrZBRrkOA?si=Mqx_Js47SYi-FjTa20MhwQ) — Air (1998) Yeah, I know about it, I heard it partly. I don't know whether I like it or not. It's too chill. It’s definitely original and good, the rest is a matter of taste. 3/5 Liked songs: — All I Need

It’s this kind of album, which sounds incredibly cool and unique, but you know you won’t find the right "occasion“ to listen to it again.

Pretty good. For the purposes of this project, gonna rate it a little lower, but it's absolutely worth checking out.

pretty nice sounding! in the right setting (up for 20 hours in a club) i could see this taking me to heaven

First listen

90’s Electronic ⭐️New Star in the Sky

Great music to have in the background. Gave off a nice relaxed and calm vibe. Not sure If I'm adding it to my rotation though.

Good rhythm 10/10 cumputer-y and robotic -5 points

Prog is not dead, just hiding,

A good album, I liked Sexy Boy and Kelly Watch the Stars the most.

Good beats and easy background listening for work. Not a ton of lyrics to any of the tracks, but a good variety of sounds.

Musica de ciNe

Good. Listenable. Electronic more chill out than banging.

Vibes are great but the music is boring. Fit perfect for the rainy night walk I eas on. Just not enough happens. I mean things happen but nothing that interesting. I just have nothing else really to say. Its fine but im not into it really.

Had no idea what this was but on listening I realized I'd heard "Sexy Boy" before. Solid background music.

Mmmm. Dreamy.

Sehr chillig, thumbs up!

I almost rate 4, but the song "Kelly Watch the Starts" made me put 3 cause wtf

Ambient music isn’t really my thing but it was good

Lots of instrumentals, good for zoning out at work. Favorite song was Sexy Boy, basic but oh well.

Some bangers on this, so many.

Very pleasant music. This is good, although I can’t figure out when I’d ever want to put it on. What mood does it evoke? It’s better than elevator music, but it’s not exciting, or melancholic, or angry, or soothing. It’s just nice music. Nothing remarkable about this at all, but nothing offensive either. Solidly average.

good , 7/10 , one of the songs sounds like massive attack

Nice atmosphere

*1998. French duo - electronic/space pop. *I've heard bits of "Sexy Boy" which is apparently their big international 'hit.' *Interesting listen - it's electronic, but not too much. Wiki described it as 'space pop', which is exactly right - pop music but a little trippy, like you're floating through space. *I kinda like this in small doses. RATING - 6/10

no idea but sure

“All I need’s a little sign To get behind this sun and cast this weight of mine All I need’s a place to find And there I’ll celebrate” I enjoyed this more than I anticipated but it really isn’t my thing. I’m not the biggest fan of Electronica but this is extremely chilled out and I just found it very pleasing to exist in a few of the songs. “All I Need” was a highlight and felt the most like a conventional song. I completely understand why this is lauded the way it is and parts of it were very compelling but much of it just sort of passed me by.

This was a nice album, easy-listening but didn't blow me away. There were some tracks that I'll definitely revisit but probably not the album as a whole. Favourites: La femme d'argent Talisman Ce matin-là

It was good, Not my cup of tea

fantastic and different sound from most 90's that was big. instrumentals are great and thoughtful, sexy boy obviously the reason this album is huge and i don't mind at all. not totally for me, but good for something new.

Smooth beats, intricate, easy to lose yourself in. Nothing really stands out, though. It's all feels like one long continuous track, and it's hard to tell where one stops and the next one starts. My Rating: 3/5

Trippy, but got me focused.

Vibe / Gefühl Sehr chillo millo. Ruhig, warm, schwebend. Will nicht unterhalten, sondern einhüllen.

Pleasant background music. Not hugely for me beyond that.

Pretty decent. Big 90s vibes. Weird but makes sense.

Reminded me a bit of Stereolab but with a little more of an ELO thing. Felt forward thinking in an odd way, in that it felt decidedly retro with its space-age vibe. Made me think of Tame Impala about as much as it did Stereolab. Favorite Tracks: Le Femme d'Argent, Kelly Watch the Stars, Talisman, Ce Matin-La

Quite likes this, it was like “cool” background music. But I did get a little bit bored towards the end…

It was good. Very different for my style but I liked it. Felt like horror games super market music in the best way possible.

Very relaxing production. A couple misses on the album stops it from being 4. Good album.

Nice background music

A man once sang 'Sexy Boy' directly to my friend at pub karaoke and I've never been able to see that song or Air in a serious light since. Giving the album a spin for the first time in likely 20 years though was interesting. Clearly a good album but not for me. Feels like a bag of ideas, all good but not really complimentary, vs a cohesive album. If you said this was a compilation I'd say that makes sense. Its not though so yeah not my cup of tea but nice listen.

Good study music

funky and french

Overall great album, the French Touch era Song I like: Sexy Boy, All I need,You make it easy, Ce matin là.

Album sympathique !

All i need is a classic song. Sexy boy and kelly watch the stars are also good but there is not a lot else. Its passable fare in the main. Music to drift along to i guess

First 3 tracks are great but it does get a bit samey

First I’ve heard and quite a chill start, but sounding a little close to elevator music or a backing to some beachy scene. Hoping it gets going a bit… Ahhh it’s the ‘Sexy Boy’ band. Okay. Otherwise the album is largely pleasant and not much more than that. Some nice variety and layers but nothing that got me excited and feels more like background music, than foreground (3.5)

Musically this isn’t that interesting but the atmospheric textures surrounding these tunes are interesting and help with the overall sound. I think this is kind of derivative of all the great experimental pop/instrumentals from the 50s/60s but it does update the sound in a way. I did enjoy listening to this once but I’m not sure I have any desire to listen to this again therefore I would not consider this essential listening. But I was not offended by this so once again I’m stuck giving this 3 stars since there’s no way to convey a 2.5 star rating.

Good background album to listen to, very chill vibes

I love the French lyrics and songs that’s so cool! I really like how different every track sounds and it’s just overall a really unique and interesting album to listen to. Definitely not something I’ve ever heard before and I like that cause I want to listen to things that are not normal to me!

Familiar tunes, but felt a bit disjointed for an album

Reminds me of High School- real cool guy music and took me back to being cool and on top of new music. Groovy, ambient, electric with enough melody to feel connected to the songs. .

Not bad. Simpsons: No

Interesting but not for me

Interesting proto-lofi album that I can appreciate for being innovative. Pleasant enough to sit through, but lacks a true standout track. Solid all around listen, especially as more laid back background music

All I need is a great song … fantastic. Very chilled album I enjoyed this! Rating 3-4 stars, I might change my mind after I hear more albums from the generator

recognized sexy boy from 10 things i hate about you within seconds. such a good song. this isn’t something i would necessarily listen to again, but i see it being good background music

album kinda went by with not a ton sticking out. Sort of that classic first step in french house when it was blowing up in the late 90's 6/10

*Cool ephemeral music

Loved this album, such a good listening experience.

First song reminds me of a late 90’s average spy/heist movie montage where they’re setting up some trap or something. The last third of the album sort of morphs into Daft Punk. Solid album but not sure how much I dig ambient techno sort of stuff.

Strange experience. Got better as you went through the album and it reminded me of a lot of different artists.

What a vibe. Perfect for the first album of this adventure and for a chill work morning.

Gave up on the second track, don’t like instrumental albums ngl,

Cool electronic album. Definitely along the lines of Daft Punk, but chill.

Very mediocre. Simple background or timelapse music. Not great, but not awful. 5/10 2,5/5

Not bad, I'd probably listen to this as background sound but didn't really capture me creatively.

Just a pleasantly chill album. It puts you in the right headspace.

I’m not used to listening to electronic music, but this was very calm and mellow. Perfect backdrop while I cleaned my room.

That is WAYYY different what i normally listen. There is almost no lyrics in songs, only a few has words. The album is really calm and chill, I think it is a nice album but not my cup of tea.

Kinda old, kinda futuristic, it's a nice atemporal vibe, the songs featuring Beth Hirsch were not my favorites, still great album

Solid, nothing super noteworthy though

Nice mellow sounds. I thought the tracks with Beth Hirsch' vocals were particularly good. I really liked the trombone voice on Ce Matin-la. At times I got bored with some of the instrumental electronics

The first couple of songs left me cold---the overlong first song and "Sexy Boy," a repetitive simpleton of a song. But it really picked up and got interesting, both the instrumentals and the songs with the female vocalist. The chill, loungey thing worked on me and I came to appreciate what they were laying down.

This grew on me as it went on, around Kelly Watch the Stars it got more interesting to me. Probably the kind of thing I'd put on while I'm doing something else, but i like the relaxed vibe of it, prefer this kind of electronica to others

sexyyy boooooyyyyyy

3/5 - Not bad but not my thing

Super fun!

La femme d’argent - beautiful song, very spiritual, jazzy and deep solid 8/10 Sexy Boy - I KNOW THAT SONG AWESOME SAUCE, beautiful melody, angelic vocals nothing to hate on, good fucking song 9/10 All i need - the woman’s vocals are very soulyyy i like it, electronics samples go crazy on that one, lyrically beautiful 8/10 Kelly watch the stars - the electronic vocals are so beautiful solid ass song 8/10 Talisman - also great fucking song, jazz bar somewhere in 60’s paris thats how it feels like, downtempo i love it 7/10 Remember - very electronica but still with a good balance, beautiful melody, vocals, very cosmic sounding 8/10 You make it easy - this vocalist really reminds me of Sadé, very soothing 7/10 Cé matin-là - another very jazzy song my vibes, its giving slow mediterranean summer, thats song touched my goddamn soul😔, very simple but yet so good 8/10 New star in the sky - interesting song, nostalgic for some reason, i feel peace 7/10 La voyage de pénélope - oh my days the beginning scratches the itch in my brain 9/10 Overall: im so so gagged, this album is a one big masterpiece 7.9/10

Not exactly my vibe but also kinda fun! I like the mellowness?

Never been big on downtempo cus it’s just too… down. But an alluring smoothness absolutely brings the value of this up to me, I just certainly don’t play it often because there’s so much more interesting music that can be just as mellow to me.

Was a little to slow for me personally

Canción favorita: You make it easy

Moon Safari sounds like being alone at night, looking out the window, it's a very chill album but sometimes i felt like vibing.

I heard these guys on NPR once in 2012 and thought what I had heard was pretty cool. This album had some good moments, but I was disappointed that it wasn’t as good as what would come later from the band.

Fun, romantic, atmospheric. Like a soundtrack to a farewell looking up at the stars. I wish the sweaty energy of the opening few tracks had been carried into the back half of the album. 3/5

Está bien

Solid vibes. Funny how my taste has changed. I used to love "sexy boy" but skipped it this time.

Pretty nice background music. There is a nice variety of sounds so even if you focus on the songs they are not boring. But I probably would not play it again besides maybe as background music.

Good instrumental but I'm personally not the biggest fan of more electronic music.

Squishy and thick synth that bops along with some pop sugar hooks. Retro-space-age French goodness.

Smooth and yes, spacey. Even a little playful. I liked it.

The opening track kicks in with a cool, steady vibe straight out a 70’s action movie montage. It’s groovy, it’s cool and i like it. This album is s good reminder that Electronic, as a genre, covers a wide variety of music. I didn’t care for Sexy Boy, it felt goofy in a bad way. Kelly Watch the Stars is the first song on this album that feels upbeat. I like this song. While i enjoyed the vibes of the album in general, the rest of the album was just okay. 3/5. I’m not sad i listened to it, but not likely to revisit this one

Enjoyed this quite a bit as far as electronic albums go

Groovy!

A brilliant snapshot of the era this album was released in, reminds me of getting tic tacs stuck up my nose and watching jackie chan movies.

Perfect album for a Sunday afternoon while taking a stroll with nature

Fun, groovy bass lines. Good not great for me

I can see what they're going for here, I'm glad I stuck it out because there was some interesting variety of stuff, but I think this falls into "too experimental to be fun" for me...

Good debut album, good sound, good vibe. Hard to be more detailed but it's a good listen. I should say good a few more times. Strong three, weak four.

I had actually heard a track on this! Sexy Boy has been used in some movies I think. I don't think this is entirely my jam, but I do like it. It's just a little too chilled out for me. This album feels like I'm in a dentist office waiting room sometimes but the dentist owns a record player and has specific opinions about white jazz. I do like the final track. It's a little funkier, more sonically interesting and crunchier than other tracks. That is something I like about this album. A lot of it sounds like waiting room music, but there's a funkier/psychedelic track here and there that sticks out and none of them sound alike.

Not bad! I'm not an electronic music kind of person usually, but this had a groove to it and made for perfect background chill vibe music while working this morning. Nothing here wows me, but I'd happily listen to it again.

Started off really well. I was expecting something a bit more...well, french. Sadly it didnt hold up the vocal was awful which was a shame, with a better vocal it would have been really good.

Just like everything else French, it’s pretty cool at first but overstays its welcome

One-half easy-listening/elevator mood music, one-half soundtrack to a 90s-era PC transport management sim or Game Boy visual novel. Sexy Boy is a classic.

I surprisingly really liked this??? It had a lot of elements I typically enjoy in my normal day to day listening. The only thing it's really "lacking" is lyrics at some parts, and even then i was just vibing and enjoying the soundscape that was created. I'm genuinely shocked. I really liked "All I Need" and "You Make is Easy", and the last 3 songs we very vibey. Nice, chill, dreamy, a bit of a background feeling to it but when paying attention you can get lost in it. This must've been a very inspirational album for the artists i listen to, I heard hints of Men I Trust, Tame Impala, Caroline Polachek, The Marias, Porter Robinson, even if it was just a tiny crumb of a detail, i can see how this album could've potentially inspired their work in one way or another. At the start of the album i was like, it's cool and all but idk if i see myself coming back to it. Now, I'm really not sure? I don't have a playlist that fits this vibe. I know I want to come back to a few songs, but probably not the album as a whole? I'm gonna have to figure that out. also, obligatory: OMG IT'S THE SONG FROM 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU in a truly fair and just world I'd probably put this at a 4, but since I'm not sure if i will come back to it i'm going to leave it a 3 and pretend it's a 3.5. I want to leave 4+ to things i will 100% go back to.

I know this!

Pretty, not particularly memorable, French. Easy listening on a WFH Monday.
