Reviews (page 6 of 7)
It was fine. Nothing stood out.
I liked the other Brian Eno one we listened to more than this one. It's fine, but I don't see putting it on again.
Wierd and wonderful, but not really an album of actual songs. Sounds like an audio showreel of production techniques, which it kind of was. Bits of some songs sound like later Radiohead, which is again no bad thing!
Much more listenable than my previous Eno but I still can't really get excited about it. Probably would make a great soundtrack to something.
Bara ágætis plata, rann ljúft í gegn.
Áhugavert frekar en beinlínis skemmtilegt. Nokkur fín lög samt. Myndi sennilega hlusta aftur
Get the Eno hype, not sure I want to listen to this album again though.
Like this early post Roxy stuff so much more than his later ambient approach. The King Crimson like guitar led (not surprising with Robert Fripp on Guitar) tracks are so much more fulfilling than some of the more sparse tracks. You can track Eno's evolution from Here Come The Warm Jets to Ambient 1(Music for Airports) on this bridging album. Loved "St Elmo's Fire" With Fripps "electric" guitar playing, title Track "Another Green World" which is familiar as the title track for the BBC arts strand "Arena" and "I'll Come Running" A good album and can see why it is on this list.
Eno ugh of the Eno.
Sounds pretty Eno to me
solid shit
Charming little villages of sound.
Slightly unnerving quiet gaps between tracks and not enough songs on the tying of shoelaces loses a couple of points. Still creates an interesting "soundscape". Decent .
This album is decent. Some interesting early synth sounds, but not much that really held my attention overall.
Ok album. I tend to like it more when Eno is part of a collaboration more than when he's solo.
Looking at the production of this album, it's amazing. Overall, however, the songs don't stand out a ton to me. I really love the ambient stuff far more than the lyrical pieces, and so that's where I feel the album shines.
That was definitely music, and I listened to it…
Eno shows off his production skills in this smooth and inventive album. Despite not having a timeless single, the album flows so smoothly with smaller syncopations and artistic flourishes that blend so well with his poetic lyrics.
An interesting one, I think I like it? In dark trees/the big ship are a highlight for me. Surprising it came out in '75
Genre: Art Rock 3/5 From a musical history standpoint, there are few more pivotal to pop/rock than Brian Eno, who was a big mover and shaker in the music scene. Eno was a pioneer in ambient music, something that hadn’t been truly explored in mainstream music before. Another Green World is heralded as a masterpiece of the form, and one of the all-time greats from the decade, but to me is a little too full of itself, and a little too uneven in all the wrong ways. A few great songs littered amongst short bursts of electronic ideas that don’t fully pan out. While I may not have enjoyed this as much as I had expected (or hoped) to, I recommended this for others who are interested in listening to as much recent music history as possible.
Pretty good - distinctive sound
Heel relaxte pop-muziek. Favoriet is "St Elmo's Fire". ***
2nd listen. I'm really beginning to enjoy this album. Standouts: I'll Come Running, Sky Saw, St. Elmo's Fire, Zawinul Lava (sounds very much like the "song" from his ambient music album).
More like Brian EMO, am I right? I like the song about excitedly running to tie someone's shoes and the one that inspired the Judd Nelson Brat Pack movie. Oddly enough, I don't care for many of the brief instrumental interludes a young Phil Collins plays on. As is the case with all things Eno, this is all about feel. And this feels right in the 2.5 wheelhouse. I still wish Eno covered "Man In Motion" from the St. Elmo's Fire film.
Finally discovered that the best way to listen to Brian Eno is in the background when you're working.
Brian Threeno
We're always one step behind him, mgmt started strong and finished at a more somber sound 3.5
Really wanted to give this 4 stars, but it really lost steam around track 10.
I wouldn't have predicted that I'd like this. Ambient, prog sort of music isn't typically a thing I go for but this is pretty good. Super interesting tones and instrumentation. Rating only 3 because I'm probably not going to revisit this much - but definitely enjoyable/interesting.
This should definately be on the list but it wasn't for me.
Unremarkable.
I'm kind of surprised I wasn't familiar with St. Elmo's Fire before now. That sounds like a song I should have heard? Regardless... I found myself engaged with most of this one and feeling surprised that it was over when it was over. Good stuff.
interesting to listen to, wouldn't put it on again
The first few songs made me want to claw my ears off. However, as the album progressed, it got more relaxing and ambient, which was nice to listen to. The only complaint I have of the later songs are that the voice doesn't contribute much and felt like it went against the style and feel that the backing music was going for. Favorite track: The Big Ship
Ok...
Great background/study music for the most part. It's a nice album. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure why it is on this list. I'll have to listen a few times more I think. In 2012, Rolling Stone ranked the album number 429 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Standouts: I'll Come Running (I guess?) It's the only song that I remember after listening to the whole album.
Interesting; a little electronic I would say maybe even techno but not hard techno. Little Fishes gives off Minecraft vibes. Fav: St Elmo’s Fire Least fav: Sombre Reptiles
Background music. Meh.
Interesting collection of soundscapes and easy-listening music. Probably won't listen to it again if I'm honest.
Not the biggest fan. I enjoyed the instrumental a lot more than previous albums. Vocals too but it’s the same problem I had with other albums so I think I’ll give it a 3
not my fave to be honest, just a little boring.
I love Brian Eno’s ambient work but haven’t ventured much into his earlier rock. There are hints of brilliance here and there, but it’s just not the easiest to listen to. There’s a time and place for this album, and that’s hard to know when. Favorite: Golden Hours, Everything Merges With the Night, The Big Ship Least Favorite: In Dark Trees
Enjoyed the instrumentals, did not like the vocals as much. Im familiar with Eno's ambient music, but not as much with this style. It was close to Bowie, but it didn't sit as well with me.
I like it - alternating between dreamy "70s future" music and nice pop tunes. I'm not sure how memorable it is tho ... ? --> I wrote that before giving it a few more listens today and even though background listening might be what it is best for (that's not a bad thing!) I really started hearing more that I loved upon second listen. That guitar (Robert Fripp!) in both St Elmo's Fire and Golden Hours really stands out. Another plus having Phil Collins guesting on a few cuts (but of course Phil guested on ~43% of other artists' from 1975-1985. Facts.). Speaking of Phil, I definitely hear some crossover between this album and Genesis' "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" which was released less than a year before this and on which Eno contributed some "Enossification" Strong 3 stars - I'll be coming back to this one.
hmmm
Got more from this than any other Eno album I’ve listened to - lovely stuff and will come back to again for sure.
I was so excited after the first song and then it was slowly letting me down. What a pity.
Very intensive and quite interesting
It's...different. I can appreciate it for it's time.
Synth, electro bubbles. Best Tracks: St. Elmo's Fire, I'll Come Running, Everything Merges With the Night
Probs wouldn’t normally listen, but interesting to listen to. Bit odd in a fun/ inspiring way. Wait it grew on me Defo needs the right context?? Calm/pensive (bath or high) for Favs : big ship and sombre reptiles for thinking
the beginning of his ambient music phase
That was some smooth music
3/5
Interesting electronic sounds nothing out of this world but not bad
Not a bad album but I don't think I'll get back to it anytime soon. Respect, though.
Semibängeri Emt, lugn klassisk rock?
Decent background music, disappointed that “St Elmo's Fire” wasn’t the track I thought it was.
Decent background jams
Great album. Second? favorite solo Eno album behind Here Come the Warm Jets. 7/10 1. St. Elmo's Fire 2. Another Green World 3. The Big Ship
It is certainly diverse and experimental... i think i like the ambient/instrumental pieces more than the lyrical ones (come running to tie your shoe?!?). They are creative, though doesn't fit as something i'll listen to more.
Surprisingly I liked a few songs off this album. I liked how he used a variety of different sounds and each song is very unique
Prog rock not my favorite. Very arty and avant garde. I think it could grow on me though.
This is more along the lines of what I previously thought Brian Eno did - weird sprawling mostly instrumental stuff. Some of the songs I enjoyed ("In Dark Trees" especially - something about that echoey horn sound that gives me the shivers I'm a good way) but overall I thought it was just so so.
Not bad. Good background music. Seems like ancient ancestor of Blue Man Group.
Never listened to Eno before. The synth sounds are a lot more raw than I would have imagined. He apparently likes bass guitar. It's... interesting, and ahead of it's time, but this is not what my decaffeinated brain needs this morning.
I like this album a bit more, there are a few tracks that I already knew, but overall it's still just... okayish for me. 3.5 to 3.
experimental razoavel
It was ok
a weird one. alot of background music. some wild bass in the front half.
Tried a couple of times but just slipped into the background.
Interesting album. Had a very ambient feel to it, which was nice. Half of the tracks were *just* music; I enjoyed those tracks more than the lyrical ones, although none of it turned me off. Still, not much here that would draw me back again. This leaves it in 2-3 star territory. I'll go with 3 for now.
Groovy as fuck. Great instrumentation, I don't know if I have heard something like this before. Favorite songs The Big Ship and Golden Hours. Enjoyed my listen, 5/8.
Made for a scary soundtrack to a strange evening
Mostly ambient pop, some of which is pleasing and some of which is very much not. Very hit and miss. Best track: The Big Ship
Good background music for work. Quite unique.
Some real standout ambient tracks, but all the vocals haven't aged as well 7/10
Nothing really memerable on here... I can appreciate aspects, but not the whole.
This album was just okay for me. Not as interesting as his other released albums.
Spare me
At times I quite liked this record. I like those epic Pink Floyd songs that seem to go on forever and at times this record reminded me of that. But it was only in short bursts before the album moves somewhere else. It has potential, but it feels like Eno never figured out what he wanted this album to be.
a matihouts le gudta a mi no
Impressive list of musicians involved in this album - still didn't like it.
This album wasn't for me, but I can recognise the enormous quality of the works. I do wish you could opt to review without rating, because I feel badly that my personal taste leans this album towards the lower end of the scale when I don't necessarily feel like it deserves it, but simultaneously, I can comfortably say I won't be revisiting it in the future. It's good, just not to my tastes.
Great some roxy adjacent avent gard rock. No elevator music. It wasnt unlistenable but it waa instantly forgetable. 2
I don't know, man, I want to like Brian Eno, but his sound and vibe are just kinda too out there for me to enjoy. There were moments in this album where I was enjoying the sounds, but for the most part it was just me thinking, "Is this still going on? How much longer _is_ this album?...". Two stars.
6.2
An interesting collection of 70’s era music. Most tracks gave me the “get high and listen to this in the dark” vibe while others had a Talking Heads sort of gimmick. Definitely not the worst album from this experiment but a one-and-done for sure.
It's kind of weird, not totally my style and a little boring at parts. There's no doubt that it is an interesting and musically adept album. Although I did really enjoy the tracks with vocals/lyrics like "I'll Come Running", (unfortunately there were only 5 out of the 14) the instrumental tracks didn't quite work for me and didn't hold my interest.
Was will uns der Künstler damit sagen? Ich weiß es nicht... Aneinandergereihte Instrumental-Fetzen, wenig Gesang. Für mich nicht sehr spannend. 2/5
Mostly not good. A few moments were ok.
Proto-ambient Brian is okay but not good enough for me unfortunately
The guy knows how to create a mood but sometimes throws in too much and creates a cacophony that is not pleasing. Interesting, but not one I’ll return to.
I did not care for this. Grating vocals and weird music. DNF.
3.5/10
**An ok album
wasn’t in the mood, couldn’t really get through it
Not quite what I expected. Definitely see the transition to early electronic and ambient music here. Just a strange mish mash of song concepts without many ideas seemingly fully fleshed out.
It's the 70s, it's long instrumentals. Bad lyrics but this one has a synth
This didn't really do anything for me. The music was kind of bland, the noisier parts annoying, as was the singing.
I imagine this was quite ground-breaking in its day. There's a lot of experimentation with electronic instruments. None of it is particularly engaging though. It did nothing wrong, it happily played, just doing its thing, not really bothering me at all, not really evoking anything of any emotion.
I was disappointed in this one. The production is great, but, it was overall lacking. I found I was waiting for the experience I've found on other albums and didn't get it here.
bisschen experimentell aber lowkey find ichs einfach bissl langweilig idk sorryy the big ship is aber schön zawinul/lava auch sehr schön
Musica ideal para un coffee shop
I respect this far more than I like it.
This was pretty interesting to listen to, but not something I would search on my own. Nevertheless, it wasn't bad, I enjoyed it to a certain extent.
This album happened, and I don’t remember a thing about what I just listened to. Truly something I needed to hear before I died. *rolls eyes*
Elevator music. Not my taste.
I enjoyed the songs with words more than the instrumental songs but would not go out of my way to listen to this album again
129. ok
Not a huge fan of ambient
get them on that mario kart soundtrack neowww
Em jummarra
Like a soundtrack to a 70s BBC documentary that’s really controversial and is banned but later re-released
I listened to this on a Friday and completely forgot everything about it by Monday. Nothing special. 2/5
Weird record, and this is coming from the guy who likes prog. I think 2 or 3 of the songs I could see myself adding them to a mix, but can't imagine coming back to this record.
08/03/2026 A solid 2 stars, because quite honestly, this was crap. Spotify listeners: 1.9 million
A rather boring album for me
561/1001
some gems on here, but the slower instrumental tracks kill the momentum for me. doesn't mean he isn't iconic, i just need more flow!
So I know he’s a genius. I know hes worked with or produced everyone. But…..it’s fine as long as he doesn’t do the pub folk singery thing. Which he does. So not for me mostly.
A 2.5 from me, very middle of the road
Hmmm Fave track: The Big Ship
Didn’t age well. Must have been experimental and new-ish in the 70s but not really good from today’s perspective.
not offensive, but fairly meh. not sure why an electronic album like this makes the list? is this pushing the limits of ambient music?
A review by my coworker who road with me to lunch. "Are all of the albums on the list this boring?"
So experimental that it’s not even enjoyable
booooring...
Eh, I guess its something I must listen to before I die, but it doesnt has replayability beyond that point.
The song about tying shoes was pretty good, but overall that was pretty much a slog to get through. I'd rather they ditched the instrumentals and just released the vocal tracks as an EP.
I love eno but this album didn't do it for me
First time listening to this Eno album in full. Despite some great musicians being involved it was kinda underwhelming. I prefer when Eno is either fully glam or fully ambient tbh 2/5
This was lowkey annoying
I'm bored
I found the sounds in this fairly discordant and a bit annoying to listen to.
Man I swear this is like the 3rd Brian Eno album I've had. Checking... yep. And I've only given his other 2, 2 stars. lol We'll see if this one is any better/different. 2 stars
Eno pretending to be John Cale
Didn't grab me
Meh. Pleasant-enough background music but just meh.
Nice album just didn’t do anything for me though
If I wanted to listen to a more atmospheric, laid back album, I wouldn’t pick this
Respect for the product but not my vibe this morning.
2.4/5 ambience music
whatever Brian eno
There are some interesting parts scattered throughout the album, but none of the tracks make me want to listen to them again. The non-instrumental tracks are really underwhelming
The lineup tells you it’s going to be technically great - Eno, Fripp, Collins…and the stand out for me, Percy Jones on bass. Eno is never a straight forward listen but this is on the easier end of his work for me. Still wouldn’t play it out of these listening sessions though. Pleased that artists like him exist…like high end fashion, he goes first so that others may follow.
This album is tough for me to rate. The tracks are rather disjointed, but his music feels like it’s a collection of non-diegetic, atmospheric songs. Music that was made as an accompaniment for a movie or show. It’s well made, and can certainly make you feel the emotion you’re supposed to. I just found it akin to listening to a movie soundtrack. Only, I’ve never seen the movie and know nothing of the plot. If I were making a movie and needed music to elevate a scene, this would definitely be an album to revisit. Outside of that scenario, I really just don’t see myself ever listening again.
It was ok at points but it's still eno so no dice
1 stern
very experimental, kinda cool but very overwhelming
Boring, not even a good chilled vibe album.
Fewer strange noises than the one about warm Jets, which was good, but it was a bit dull and forgettable. I couldn't name a song off this, and I only listened to it half an hour ago.
I don't hate it, just not something I'd choose to listen to really. It's not bad as background music, not something I'd have on repeat
Not what I was expecting tbh, so I don't know If I did really not like it or I was just disappointed. I think my problem with it was how reductive it was most of the time, which is not klmy cup of tea. Although it was an interesting listen, I don't think I'll be coming back to it.
Jänniä soundeja joita kuulee vieläkin huippulevyiltä. Varmaan kokeellista
Tough, I love instrumental albums, and I had high hopes for this one. Sorry.
it's fine. I'd jump the score up an entire point if there were no vocal tracks. probably not adding to collection
This sounded like he heard cars driving by honking their horns and he sampled the Doppler effect.
More noodling around
#777. More Brian Eno, great... 2/5: stop
Not very memorable
more ambient weirdness. let it be known, i am not a fan of this guy.
Not bad!
Interesting, but a bit too dark for my preferences.
It was good. May need a few more listens to enjoy it more
This is the fourth by Brian Eno. Boring as always, although one has to admit, that he has a certain kind of creativity.
It had its ups and downs and much respect to Eno. But there were a bunch of dogs on this album as well.
I don’t think this album is bad, but it’s not my favorite either. Just meh.
Great individual musicians, but not my style of music. Some tunes felt like it’s just the intro of random pink floyd tunes hahah. I did enjoy some of the more upbeat, less “ethereal”, tracks though! Also, what is the point of doing experimental instrumentals and still playing the four chord song.
Interesting but not very enjoyable
I didn’t warm to this. It wasn’t awful, but not something I’d play again.
Brian Eno was popular when I was in junior high and high school. But he was very New York/New England LA/California. I only find his music interesting. Innovated but more in a soundtrack sort of sense.
Early Eno shows a bunch of flares to the atmospheric powerhouse that he would become one day. I didn't love the mix of rock and those tracks though. Good listen, but not a must for this list. 4/10
3/10
Not good at all
Couldn't really get into it. I liked the more heavily instrumental pieces (The Big Ship and Becalmed).
Strange product of those times.
01) Sky Saw - 6,0 02) Over Fire Island - 5,5 03) St. Elmo's Fire - 7,0 04) In Dark Trees - 6,0 05) The Big Ship - 5,5 06) I'll Come Running - 6,0 07) Another Green World - 5,0 08) Sombre Reptiles - 5,5 09) Little Fishes - 5,0 10) Golden Hours - 6,5 11) Becalmed - 5,5 12) Zawinul/Lava - 5,0 13) Everything Merges with the Night - 6,0 14) Spirits Drifting - 5,0 TOTAL: 5,68 (57/100) Current ranking: 571/682
Not bad, but I can't say I enjoyed it.
I don't get it...
*1975. English ambient pop. *I'm not really sure how to describe this - it was like something off of Garden State, but circa 1975 with some electronic elements. *Good background music - very mellow. *St. Elmo's Fire was a cool track - catchy but low-key. *Pretty forgettable for the most part. RATING - 6/10
Simultaneously experimental and boring.
Ok 2/5
It wasn’t for me
Experimental, and I mean that in a good way. I found there weren't enough tracks for me to hang my hat on to really be into this album but I liked some of what he was doing and respect the innovation.
Brian I'm so so sorry I love you and Thursday Afternoon, DM, and Airports are some of my favourite albums but I just don't get this.
Started good but wasn't a fan of the vocals as I'm not used to this from Eno.
This album is so interesting. It is very "soundscape". It isnt like...bad. But I will never return to this. Anytime Brian sings Im like...please stop. It is kinda of a snooze album. It all blended together and I was waiting for something to happen. Actual rating....1.5 Liked Songs: "I'll Come Running" and "Becalmed"
I get it. Brian Eno is a phenomenal sound engineer and producer. I just find his stuff boring.
The idea of ambient music is pretty cool but you can still see it in its early stages here. Not quite refined just yet
A great illustration of why Brian Eno is very well known as a collaborator and producer, not so much as a solo artist. Because this is all very well produced and clever, but not that... Concise as an album/collection of songs.
Background music. If you are a musician, probably inspiring.
Some people I greatly respect worship at the altar of Brian Eno, but I've never really connected to his music. I was just thinking I need to give Hear Come the Warm Jets another try, though I'm sure it's on this list. Another Green World sounds a little undercooked to me, with songs that just sort of end—which makes sense if Eno had nothing prepared when we went into the studio and kind of winged it. Smarter people than I can argue for the genius of this album, but it doesn't do much for me.
Listening. but a bit funky for my taste
"Another Green World" is another soft, light music ensemble for your background enjoyment. Nothing to turn off and works nicely while you work. Eno getting into the experimental side of things with his snake guitar and uncertain piano is cool considering it's is early stuff for the elctro-ambient genre. Certainly liked it more than sleeping in the airport. 2.0 stars for taking me out for a nice trip in a big ship over the planet.
altern. Rock, 1975 -> 2
I can't believe it but I actually prefer the totally instrumental ambient albums by far
Special...a bit musicians music for me...
Not for me!
J - 2/5 Best Track - "St Elmo's Fire" F - 2/5
Eh
This album sounds like it’s been recorded by one of the greatest producers in the history of popular music. Oh hang on…. Shame he didn’t stick to production, as a song writer and singer he is not. This is a collection of disparate ideas barely masquerading as songs. Really good production though.
1,5
I get it but i don;t get it... you know what i mean. its not there but also its there... thats how this album feels like
I wasn’t in the right mood. And/or it’s just boring. I understand its historic importance and I see its influence all over but on its own it’s just a little boring.
May need to circle back to this one!
Some story driven 64 bit video game bangers in there. Digital prog. Sky Saw reminds me of Jeff Wayne’s War of The Worlds, over Fire Island had me pulling a funk face a bit like this 😖in a good way. From that point on he started talking about tying my shoe. I was more of a fan of the instrumentals than the vocals. Interesting listen but it’s not one for the dinner party or Music for Chameleons
I have mixed feelings about this album. On one hand, I really dislike the more minimalist/ambient 'songs' scattered throughout, especially those at the start, but on the other hand some songs were decent (St Elmo's Fire) and others were actually pretty good for ambient music (The Big Ship, Zawinul/Lava).
Couldn't get thru it
Bit weird and not my style. Somewhat relaxing and easy listening. Mostly music with minimal or no lyrics. Listened to in the morning cleaning my shed.
Not very interesting
Eminently forgettable, verging on annoying. His brother does 'ambient' so much better.
This one missed the mark for me
p337. 1975. 2 stars. Bland ambient music with awful vocals and lyrics. "I'll tie your shoe". Saved from 1 star by a couple of lovely instrumentals. Next time Brian, no need to sing, eh?
Two songs worth listening to - I’ll Come Running and Everything Merges with the Night. Even those are like second class Jona Lewie songs. The others are pretentious Muzak.
Seems like this was on the cusp of Brian Eno pioneering the ambient music scene... it was a lot more jazzy than I expected. Even chaotic at times. Maybe it was because of preconceived notions but I didn't care for it.
As soon as I saw this I was like FML, another bloody Eno album in the same month. While that sentiment wasn't entirely proven wrong, this album is a little more palatable than Here Come the Warm Jets, which was a solid 1 star for me. This one is at least inoffensive ambient music with some weird ticks, which is a huge step up from the other one. Progress, right? I just read that this guy produced Bowie and U2 at some points. Well, to quote the poet and philosopher Oshea Jackson, "stick to producing." Two lofty stars, which is pretty solid for Eno.
Goofy goober ass album. The first song baited me so hard.
Eh. Mostly unenjoyable and unmemorable.
It was okay, but kinda boring lol
I just can't fully appreciate music like this. Some of it is nice, some of it is just so simple like background music. None of it is offensive, I guess? Best Song: St. Elmo's Fire Rating: 4.5/10 (Forgettable) Stars: 2/5
No
Whoa, it's the dude from all the crosswords!
Good effort. There's something. Undeniably. But I just can't find it entertaining.
Strange
I’m recognize that there is some artistic expression going on here, but it’s not for me. It’s not terrible, but I certainly don’t find it interesting either.
Maybe another day I’d hear this and feel differently but not today satan.bland keyboard noodles aren’t really inspiring me to dig into the rest of Brian Enos catalog
Absolutely nothing about this album stood out to me at all.
Weer zo'n Eno album Beetje vergeetbaar album imo
Don’t come running to tie my shoes.
It’s alright. Not something I’d listen to. Background of a TV show type music
Brian Eno is featured in this project too much for my liking. I didn’t enjoy this album. In no way did it engage me.
Y'all like this? Like.. genuinely?
It's alright but I can't see myself ever going back to it
Couple of nice bits but overall boring
This one of those albums that I listen to and when it ends I have no idea that I've listened to it. It's akin to elevator music in an Old Navy.
Unvelievably dull. I get Eno was ahead of his time, but it feels like it goes nowhere. Ambient shouldve been called meandering.
I was familiar with Eno‘s name as a producer with David Bowie and others, and a frequent answer in crossword puzzles. This is the first time I have listened to him as a musician, and I must say that I enjoy him much better as a producer and crossword puzzle answer.
It started tolerable, but the bit of singing was annoying, and then the noise really didn’t sound like music anymore.
Not really much going on here. Lot of talent from other groups coming together to make an overall boring album.
His ambient stuff without lyrics is much better.
Well that sounds very experimental, I don't really know what to think about even if in the middle of the album you have some really good songs with lyrics like "I'll Come Running" or "Gold Hours" but most of the time I'm confused while listening to this album sometimes you have some weird mix of rythms that's a bit disturbing. That's clearly not my type of music but I have been able to enjoy it sometimes with some cool vibes that you can find in Klaatu songs or in The Alan Parsons Project songs.
Love the cover I think I like melodic stuff, this album is not melodic enough for my taste. It's more about textures and ambience i feel like. Definite shroom music
Was unsure at first but I did enjoy the last few tracks
Well, that was weird. Another Green World felt like the musical equivalent of staring at abstract art and wondering if you’re just not smart enough to get it. That said, “Everything Merges With the Night” was actually really good—beautiful, even. If the rest of the album had followed that vibe, I might’ve enjoyed it more. Instead, most of it just sounded like background music for a sci-fi film where nothing happens.
eh
Second one of his i've checked out and they aren't the worst. I dont see myself going back though.
Not much to write home about
I genuinely enjoyed the songs with lyrics and would have enjoyed an album full of that. That said an album where the majority of the songs were without lyrics was not something I could enjoy.
I love Bowie, Talking Heads, and U2, but Brian Eno's solo albums I guess are not for me.
Never was a fan of this type of electronica.
It's a 2 for me not horrible, I listened to the whole thing while focusing on a work project and it made for decent background noise, but it wasn't enough to actually capture my attention.
Didn’t really do it for me, I think I’ve heard of him as an artist before but I found the album a little bit boring. I think if I was fed these songs intermittently I’d have had a better time with them, but listening to them back to back just didn’t feel very interesting.
I love so much of what Eno has produced for himself, produced for others, or been part of somehow. Roxy, Bowie, Talking Heads, he's a legend. But I struggled initially with this album. I failed to think of an instance when I'd want to put this on again, although I did enjoy the second half. My issue with it is noises with little relationship to one another, impressive noises and arrangements at times, but without much in the way of vocals, there often lacks a narrative to connect the audio dots. Some great musicians on this album too. Another Green World, Becalmed, Zawinul/Lava were my favourites, I liked the delicacy of these. Everything Merges With The Night is a bit more of the Eno I get along with. I much prefer Before And After Science and Here Come The Warm Jets. They're completely bananas, but as albums, I find them to be compiled in a more linear fashion, not to mention they sound amazing. Give me some Baby's On Fiiiiirrre any day!
Interesting but didn't really grab me. Over all Eno has an interesting catalog.
Pretty boring to be honest, not bad, just boring.
Some highlights throughout and it was kinda fun with the Jams Brian plays around with. You can see why and how he is such a well regarded producer. However, this album just not for me I think
Very experimental electronic and weird sounds.
It is a Brian Eno album. I don't know what else to say. The only single was on the last album, this is just his decent into mediocre Philip Glass.
Sub par elevator music
Kind of an auditory sketch pad. Felt more like a collection of ideas vs an album, but hey I’m sure a lot of you think the emperors new digs are stunning.

This was just weird noises for the most part? Not sure I really enjoyed this or got it. The songs with lyrics were okay but still a bit weird.
If I hear I'll come running then I'll be running out of earshot
Todo instrumental, como cultural y rudimentario. Medio de créditos de película o sala de espera.
..
This man has way too many albums on this list. Especially for how uninteresting he is.
Brian Eno, the original weirdo. This album was a bit of a miss for me as I had high hopes from his other work.
Bastante rollo.
Great production, but a didn't really evoke anything in me..
The album’s only chart success was in New Zealand where it reached #24, Kiwis are odd
Aight
Nope, still can't dig his art
I know he's "Music Gandalf" but this was average. I can only assume it's included because of the massive influence he has elsewhere, but on "his own" - it's not doing it for me guys.
More wordy than I expected for an ambient album but a calming vibe nonetheless. St Elmo’s fire was a standout
This one was a hard one to rate. I really liked some parts but hated others. I think it will settle somewhere around a middling 2.
Another eno, another nope from me.
