I underestimated how good their first album was. I was ready to give it a 4 but song after song is just great.

I always think of highschool with this band. There was a kid who’s favorite band was Thin Lizzy and he got picked on for it. Maybe because it was the 2000’s not the 70’s. Anyways, decent live album with good sound quality.
I don’t want to sound like a bleeding heart lib but some songs like “Jailbait” really don’t age well. That being said there are obviously some classic songs and overall it’s a good sounding album.

Could have been a 4 star for me but there is a lot of filler tracks.
This is honestly about the time I don’t care as much but Radiohead. The vocals are all incomprehensible moaning. The music is trying so hard to be Unique with weird time signatures. They are obviously good musicians but they start to lack any interesting melodies.
This album started out really strong then quickly fell off for me. If it was not for the first song I’d probably give this a 2.
Starts out strong with their big hit then the rest of the songs are meh to okay.
Talented band but gets a little too proggy for me.
I had trouble paying attention to this album but the moments I did focus in I liked it. I just couldn’t latch onto it for what ever reason.
Solid album from John Lennon with minimal Ono.
A couple of good songs but overall just not my style of metal.
Good album with some great songs. It did fall off about half way through for me.
Really just not my style and they gave me a weird Christian vibe. I could see how people may like it though.
Still not entirely my style of metal but I enjoyed this a bit more than some of their later albums. I can see why people liked this.
A decent album that I feel like could be 4 stars if I was in the right mood. Definitely some great songs on it.
I don’t know why but I really don’t care for the Who. Maybe I’m just seeing them from too modern of a perspective but they sound like the most vanilla version of British rock to me.
I can’t say I really liked it disliked this album. I listened to it yesterday and nothing really stuck with me.
Started out liking it but then kind of lost interest part way. Some good songs in it though.
I really could not get into this. It’s an instrumental album and it feels like each song is only 4 bars long repeating for 3-5 minutes.
A fantastic album, maybe made better because the album before this was an instrumental album that was boring. While this isn’t entirely instrumental it’s not your typical rock or pop album either.
Another instrumental album that I just couldn’t connect with
I believe this is before David Gilmore joins and it really sounds like a different band. I do not like this era of 60’s British bands. Everyone is trying to be whimsical and sing about Alice in Wonderland and other trippy bullshit.
Another 60’s psychedelic mess, really not into this stuff.
This is a case of good musicians but music that just didn’t interest me.
Good album but I was not able to give it a fair listen yesterday. Obvious Miles Davis is extremely talented.
Really just not into this one.
Surprisingly calming and enjoyable.
Not terrible, not great, it’s there.
I was surprised by this album honestly.
It’s Born in the USA, of course it’s 5 stars.
Really good punk…post punk…idk really good album.
I’ve heard of Elliot Smith but Jenner actually heard his music. I was not overly impressed.
It was fine, just not for me.
Decent sounding album but I was not able to enjoy it much.
I don’t normally care for this band but I found this album to be pretty refreshing.
If I could give 4 1/2 I would. It’s a great album but sometimes a little too mellow and folksy for me.
Really didn’t care for this. 5 songs all 20 minutes a piece.
A pretty cool punk album with some interesting covers.
Great live album. It’s B.B. King I don’t know what else to say. Surprisingly short if this was the length of his actual concerts.
I was not expecting to like this album as much as I did. It was genuinely good.
I was thinking I wouldn’t like it as a lot of 60’s blues rock can be boring. This was pretty decent.
For some reason I didn’t like this growing up but looking at it now I can see why he was so big.
A decent live album. I am not that into motorhead though.
A good old school country album. I like this style but was not overly drawn to any songs on here. Still not a bad listen at all.
I know this is a classic for many and I really like parts of it. I can’t help but lose interest in so many songs on here.
This album starts off really well with 3-4 amazing songs. Then it just falls off hard for me and becomes unremarkable. I’d give it 3.5 if possible.
Not a bad album it’s just nothing really stood out for me.
I underestimated how good their first album was. I was ready to give it a 4 but song after song is just great.
This is a fantastic album, it has a vibe that you don’t hear much. Especially from the albums typically suggested on this list.
A surprisingly great album. It’s a mix of atmospheric and rhythm that I really enjoyed.
I enjoy Joy Division in general but most of this album was just okay for me.
I think almost every Neil Young album from this has been 5 stars. This isn’t a bad album at all but it tends to be slightly too mellow for me.
A decent album but it didn’t really connect with me.
This is a really great album. This band sounds so ahead of their time.
I’m not always a fan of Bob Dylan or this era of Folk music. This was an okay album.
Decent album, I think I didn’t give this one a fair listen and may need to go back.
Bob Marley is really hit and miss for me and this missed.
Honestly I usually kind of like what I hear if public image. This was a decent album.
Solid alternative album. Some people try and be cool and hate Sonic Youth but I’ve yet to hear anything worth the hate.
This album had a very generic sound that seems to be found in this genre. Just not for me.
This was a very generic 90’s alt album. It reminds me of the band Jellyfish but not as good.
This album is a masterpiece to me. It’s the best concept album ever made and my favorite Pink Floyd album. I’d give it 6 if I could.
If you are into this genre it’s probably a good album. I’m just so tired of this kind of rock that it does nothing for me.
Not a bad album at all. I always forget this is the “come on Irene” band.
I really don’t care for this era a lot. It’s very “jam band” esq. Jannis Joplin kind of sounds like ass to be.
This album starts off really well then it’s kind of just a bunch of middle of the road songs. I can see why people like it but after the first 3-4 songs it’s all forgettable to me.
I was hoping to like this more. It’s not bad by any means but most of it didn’t grab my attention.
Album was alright, I really only liked and remembered the title song. Everything else was just kind of there for me.
People always argue over John vs Paul and I find myself going back and forth. I used to prefer John much more, and lately found myself going towards Paul. However after listening to this again I can’t deny that it’s an amazing album.
This album was fine, most of it didn’t make much of an impact on me. Still not a bad album to listen to.
I did 👏 not 👏 like 👏 this 👏 If I could give it 1.5 I would but I don’t think this really deserves a 1.
A strange album that seemed to change its mind at times on exactly what it was. I didn’t dislike it but nothing grabbed me enough to give it a higher score.
This was a good album even if it’s not always what I’m searching for. I can see why some people really enjoy it.
It’s not the Beatles best but it’s still the Beatles. It’s very of its time and I kind of wonder if they thought they had too many songs about “love” when making it. It might not be so different from pop songs now but every song seems to talk about love.
A good late 80’s early 90’s country esq album.
A good country album with a nice Beatles cover.
One really great song and the rest are fine.
I like the pet shop boys well enough this one was kind of hard for me at times and nothing really grabbed me.
This is a good live album. I’m sure Dylan fans like it as it seems to have a lot of the hits in his prime. Sometimes he almost sounds like someone trying to sound like Bob Dylan.
This album brought me back to my highschool days and now my hip hurts. I’m knocking a star off for that.
“Every breath you take” is great but the rest just don’t hit for me.
Started off feeling bland but by the end there were a few songs I liked.
A good punk album. Maybe it’s post punk? I can’t remember these dumb genres. It’s sounds pretty punk rock and has good songs.
I really couldn’t get into this album. It felt like too much was going on most of the time.
A pretty run of the mill country album to me. It was not bad just not always my genre.
The production is great and you can tell they are talented, but some of these songs are too long for me. There is never any kind of hook to be found either.
I usually like Nick cave and I know music is subjective, but this is subjectively just bad. It just drones on and there isn’t anything memorable to me.
A good album that’s an odd mix of Rock/pop/hip-hop.
I had never heard of this band before and this was a fun album.
This was my first time hearing this band and it was a fun album. It has a cool pink floyd cover as well.
Just not very enjoyable for me. I lose interest quickly with this style of music.
Just not my favorite genre. I really could not get into this album but it’s not “bad” enough to give a 1.
A really good album but at times it loses my interest. For me this is not as good as the albums before.
One good song to me, the rest was forgettable and just not my style.
Fantastic album that is a bit better in the first half than the second. It’s a solid 4.5 for me.
I know Thundercat is an exceptional bass player and musician but I didn’t care for this. Every song felt like he was half serious and half joking around.
While I loathe the “ding dong” bit in around the world, I can’t deny that there are many great song’s on this album.
Absolutely fantastic album that I really considered giving 5 on. It gets a little out there at times but me but then Bowie brings everything around and it’s fantastic. 4.9999…no, let’s just give a 5. Damn it.
Usually I really enjoy David Bowie but this one didn’t connect with me.
It’s one of the best Arcade Fire albums and it still really holds up. This may be where they really proved they weren’t just a stomp clap band.
I didn’t really care for this album, nothing caught my attention or grew on me.
This was a surprise for me. Bob Dylan isn’t always my favorite and I thought anything from him in the 90’s would suck. This was a nice bluesy kind of album. His voice is shot but it works in the context
This was a very bland 70’s rock album for me. Little to nothing interesting in each song.
I’m thoroughly impressed that a band can make a 14 song album that’s hardly 15 minutes long.
I had never heard of this group and was pleasantly surprised by it. It’s a heavier album than I expected.
Sounds a lot like Hole. Didn’t wow me that much.
I had never heard of this artist before and was pleasantly surprised. Great album.
I want to like Dinosaur Jr but so little stands out to me. They are fine in a playlist format but listening to just this band can feel repetitive at times.
Having never heard them before I found them overall enjoyable.
I’m from the area nearby Santa Cruz so I feel I’m giving them extra for including the city in a song title. Otherwise a decent album.
I really didn’t connect with this album
Decent bluesy album.
This album feels very of the time but not in a bad way for me. It has an overall smooth and relaxing vibe.
Cool punk album. Nothing amazing, nothing awful to me.
Always a good chill vibe from The Jesus and Mary Chain but sometimes they are lacking energy. I’ve noticed sometimes I prefer their songs covered by other artists.
I unfortunately just don’t get the appeal of this type of music outside of a club or party.
This isn’t exactly the type of music I seek out but I can’t deny it’s a nice relaxing listen.
I overall enjoyed this album but it’s not really one I’ll go back to a lot. It obviously has some hits and is well regarded.
This album didn’t resonate with me personally.
Cool album with an 80’s vibe even though it came out in 79. Seemed to foretell where pop music was going from there.
If you like Arctic monkeys you may like this. It for the most part just played like background music to me. Nothing of real interest stood out.
Generic 60’s experimental bullshit mixed with just generic 60’s okay shit.
Gave me a bit of a Neil Diamond vibe. I enjoyed the album over all even if it’s not my usual go to for style.
Generic 60’s rock.
This album didn’t really connect with me. I don’t think it’s terrible by any means.
Didn’t resonate with me unfortunately. I can tell the it’s talent here though.
While not a genre I’d necessarily go to this was really nice. Great musicianship and although the songs were rather long each song brought in a cool new element.
I always think of highschool with this band. There was a kid who’s favorite band was Thin Lizzy and he got picked on for it. Maybe because it was the 2000’s not the 70’s. Anyways, decent live album with good sound quality.
A fun 90’s alternative band with some good hits on this album.
I enjoyed the song that is basically naming James Bond movies/novels.
I’m not sure if this was a concept album or not. Didn’t care for the random battle trumpet in one song.
Not my bag
A good live Jazz album. Maybe a tad long but what’s stopping you from pausing and coming back?
There were some songs that sounded like a decent experimental take. Too many songs that sounded like experimental bullshit that goes nowhere.
I get that you can’t have an album called “69 love songs” without a minimum of 69 songs but couldn’t they have made it 10-12 love songs instead? It’s not bad it’s just bloated and long.
A great old country album. As any old white dude will tell you “They don’t make ‘em like this anymore!”.
A nice solemn love album. Short and sweet.
A cool album that sounds similar to something like Faith no more.
Decent album but didn’t leave much of an impression on me.
A really solid album by Peter Gabriel.
Not a huge fan of Janis. Her voice can at times be grating and her song writing has never resonated with me.
Really not my style, I’m sure many enjoy this though.
Decent punk album with a few good songs to me. Nothing blew me away but I was not itching to turn the album off.
A strange album at times but overall really enjoyable
Really solid punk…ish album.
A really great album that id give 4.5 if possible.
I was not familiar with Gene Clark but this was a good album. I have grown tired of this genre but this was nice. A solid 3.5
This was actually a really pleasant album. I didn’t know what to expect going in but enjoyed it overall.
An okay album but nothing stood out for me personally. I’m not offended by it but I’m rather bored.
Good rap album, I’d give it 3.5 but I feel with more listens I’d enjoy it even more.
I was worried that “Take on me” would be the only good song since it’s the “hit” but everything was enjoyable. They have more of a David Bowie sound than I realized.
I was not fully aware of how great ABC is and only knew one or two songs vaguely. This was a real treat.
This was an album. I definitely remember music playing when I clicked play. That’s about it.
Did people forget about the 60’s because of all the drugs it just because so much of the music was forgettable? That was mean, this album is fine but maybe just not for me. I apologize for my sass.
If I’m in a really bad mood I don’t get how people consider this music. If I’m in a good mood I realize not everything is meant for me and turn it off.
I enjoyed the last album I heard from this guy and thought this may be similar. I was wrong and did not enjoy this overall. It is too atmospheric for me.
You aren’t true indy snob if you don’t insist this is Arcade fires best album. Bonus points if you claim it’s their only good one. I don’t subscribe to either but it’s still a 5.
Most of this was generic 80’s love music which is fine. Then he had a song that had the “rain rain rain go away” rhyme as the chorus and I got mad at this whole album.
Very 60’s, didn’t really interest me overall.
Hanoi Rocks? Hanoi is okay.
I might burst into flames if I didn’t give this a 5 star rating.
Maybe it’s because I’m going through a bad time in my life but I just didn’t find this very interesting.
Pretty forgettable
Generic 60’s rock album
I was ready to give this a higher score just based on the hits I know. However the rest of the songs just feel like filler and kind of lazy. They found a formula and were too afraid to stray.
It’s abrasive and vulgar but everything is catchy and high quality.
Devo are able to be experimental without forgetting that music should have some melody to it. Great album.
I wonder if anyone has seen this album cover and read the title and thought “this must be a really heavy album!” Then you put it on and it sounds like like Rock Horror picture show then Black Sabbath. Which is fine.
A seemingly standard 80’s country album. I don’t know if this made waves at the time of release and it only now sounds like everything else.
It’s from the 60’s and definitely sounds like it.
Great 80’s sound with really nice instrumentations.
I was extremely surprised by this, I don’t know why I haven’t seen more of this album. It’s an easy 4.5
I don’t want to sound like a bleeding heart lib but some songs like “Jailbait” really don’t age well. That being said there are obviously some classic songs and overall it’s a good sounding album.
I could hardly tell you what was being said but it was a good time listening.
Some good hits but the rest just kind of faded into the background at times. I’d give it a 3.5 overall.
I know I’m not the target audience but this style can be very repetitive.
I usually like Bjork but this album was kind of a mess.
It’s Biggy, it’s 5 stars. Stop reading this and listen to the album.
I’m not sure if this was for a soundtrack or what.
Pretty standard Bob Dylan album
A very safe 90’s alternative album. Nothing really stood out.
Not for me I suspect.
This album certainly exists and it was one of the ones I’ve now listened to. I didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.
Started out pretty optimistic for this album and by the end it lost me.
This might be one of the first Neil Young albums from this list that isn’t a 4-5 for me. It definitely wasn’t bad but nothing grabbed me like the others.
A rather boring album for me
Maybe a little too mellow at times for me but a good album overall.
I’m a fan of almost anything Damon Albarn does and had never heard of this. It almost has a Beatles vibe at times.
It’s got the Gilmore girls theme. What more do you want?
Bill has a hell of a voice, I can tell you that.
A great album from the 60’s with a good amount of classics.
Decent album but nothing really clicked with me.
I’m sure this is a very important album and probably more groundbreaking at its release. It comes off a hair bland to me today.
Really impressive album. Loved the guitar work and heavy melodies throughout the whole album.
While not my favorite Beatles album it’s still the Beatles.
The best Smashing Pumpkins album. I know the ones before this are great but this is the peak.
A decent old album. Enjoyable to have on in the background but nothing too stimulating.
Lots of fuzz and stuff. A fun 90’s alternative album.
Absolutely fantastic album. I love the hits, and everything in between is still really enjoyable.
An interesting album that feels like a fever dream of the late 00’s.
It takes some courage to call an album “The Genius of” your name. It is a solid album though.
I really do enjoy later Chicago but this was not enjoyable overall for me. Too much 60’s BS with organ solos and guitar tracks that really serve no purpose.
One classic song and the rest sort of were just there for me.
I can tell that they are all amazing musicians but it’s a little too prog at times for me.
It was like I was listening to a soundtrack to some lo-fi racing game from the early 00’s.
A really solid 60’s album. Often albums from the 60’s are so up their own ass they don’t have any good melody but this doesn’t suffer the same. I’d give this a 3.5.
I think this album is just not meant for me and that’s fine. I don’t really have anything negative to say.
A decent 60’s album with a few songs I liked. Overall nothing special to me.
An exceptionally boring album.
A little too experimental 60’s for me
Not for me but I’m sure people who are more accustomed to Indian music will enjoy this.
I was ready to give this 2 stars but it slowly redeemed itself as it went on. Overall it’s not bad.
An in offensive 90’s alt album.
Certainly French and certainly 90’s
A great Nick Cave album. It has grit and melody all in one.
It’s not even my favorite Pink Floyd album but it’s still 5 stars.
Not for me.
Classic 80’s rap with some rock. That was apparently unheard of for the time.
I was honestly expecting worse. It ended up being fine.
Pleasantly surprised. They have a real 70’s alternative vibe to them.
Overall didn’t enjoy this album. It felt like a chore to get through.
A great metal album overall. A couple of songs that for me keep it from being a 5. I’d give it a 4.5.
A really fantastic album, but there are a few low spots that keep me from personally giving it 5. It’s a 4.5 still to me.
Not my vibe.
Maybe I’m only thinking this way because of modern concert pricing but if I saw a band and they only played 45 minutes I’d be upset.
A nice sleepy album that I can see being nice if you are in the mood.
Amazing production and playing through this. I can see why many give this 5 stars but for me it just wasn’t there. I’d give it 4.5 and maybe with more listens a 5.
A great sounding album by Ray Charles. I probably wouldn’t go back and listen again and again to the album but I can see adding many songs to playlists to have on in the background.
Obviously a very Wu tang style of album.
I like the sound of the replacements. This album didn’t catch my attention very often though.
A great album from the Stooges. It’s a classic for a reason. Iggy Pop is great in this.
A mix of generic late 90’s/early 00’s rock and generic British alt rock. You do get moments of fun. I also imagine “Get Free” was overplayed in sports highlight packages of the time.
Going in I was thinking this would be a 4. Then I realized that over half are really amazing songs. Even if the other 4 out of 5 are mediocre it’s such a great piece. I’m sure the guitar nerds weren’t happy with all the synth but it works.
I had never heard of this band before but enjoyed the album.
Pretty generic rock.
A great sounding record. The genre isn’t always my favorite but I can see how others would enjoy this greatly.
I like Bruce but this didn’t do it for me. It felt overly safe and generic. I bet Rolling stone loved this but it felt empty to me.
I was pleasantly surprised by this. I don’t think I’ve heard of Dion before this.
I always want to like Bjork but sometimes it’s not there for me
It was cool, then fine, then eh.
Some real baby making music.
A fun album that I couldn’t understand
A great live performance. A little too short for me to give it 5 stars.
Great album that maybe with more listens could be 5 but for more it’s closer to 4.
A cool modern take on surf rock.
Not my bag…baby?
A really good classic album. I really considered giving this 5 stars but the end of the album brings it down a bit for me.
A cool 80’s gem I had not heard better. It did get a little repetitive
This didn’t really do anything for me. Even the big hit felt lack luster to me.
Definitely some Bob Dylan and Springsteen influence. Sometimes this album is a little too mellow for me.
A really strange album at times but overall pleasant.
A fun old school country album with vocal twang.
An interesting album but it didn’t grab my attention very much
I like Kate Bush but this felt average to me. Maybe I’m just not in the headspace for it.
Surprisingly good to me but ended up being a bit long.
Not for me
The album is fine overall, I really just am not a fan of the 60’s organ sound that is in everything. It sounds so goofy to me and I don’t get why it’s everywhere.
Cool 90’s album but started to blend together in the end to new.
Not my favored genre
Great album and I can see why it’s so highly regarded.
The title track is obviously amazing but the rest was lacking for me.
Not my jam
A song or two that stood out for me in an otherwise enjoyable album. Production and musicianship are great.
Maybe it’s just the millennial in me but Randy Newman’s voice is very soothing. I could listen to him reading the phone book.
A cool mix of funk, rock, and maybe hip hop? I enjoyed what this was.
Eh…
A cool album that has a very 90’s sound.
A good album but a little too mellow at times
Really solid album with some strong hits.
Good vibes
This was tough for me to decide if it was a 5 or not. It’s a great sounding album with great songs. I wanted to say this is a 4.7 or some bs but I’ll just round up and say it’s a 5. Semantics.
A surprisingly cool album for me.
Decent album but didn’t leave much of an impression on me
Some really interesting stuff mixed with some okay stuff.
I want to like this album but so much is just bland to me. I can tell they are all great musicians but the songs aren’t reaching me.
Generic 60’s rock
I don’t know if I had heard of Beth Orton before this. She has a great voice but it did feel a little repetitive after a bit.
Anxiety in an audio file.
The album starts off really strong and then you get a few generic songs after. They really were going for a Springsteen meets Van Halen vibe, maybe unintentionally.
Rather calm and sleepy album.
Great classic metal/rock album
A very different and well produced album compared what has been on this list so far.
Had some really strong spots for me then some really meh spots. Overall I liked the sound.
I usually like Tom Waits but this was not very enjoyable for me.
A pretty calm and uneventful album.
Music was fine but not for me
Started string and quickly fell into 60’s bullshit rock.
I like Siouxsie and the Banshees in general but didn’t fall in love with this one
