Reviews (page 7 of 8)

i think i would have liked this more if i had not been actively listening to it? except for the one song that made me almost cry? idk?

The Killing Moon is pretty good, the rest is pretty fair. 2.5.

Ok but I found it one paced and a little dull.

This is just not type of my music it's so boring man I hate that I can't like stuff like this

Very 80s synth

Another album that's only available as a shitty expanded edition, which is frustrating. As for the music itself, The Killing Moon is a good song and Seven Seas is decent enoug. However, for the rest of the album, I just wanted it to be over. Even at only just over 40 minutes, the album felt like a bit of a slog.

Sounded like a radio-friendly Bowie knockoff.

I listened through this and it was somewhat ok. It's a 2.5 for me, but I'd turn it off if I heard it again so I'm going with a 2.

I get it, well produced, well performed, but for what? Nothing enthralls me on it, doesn’t stand toe to toe with any of the other creative legends in English rock at the time.

I don't have much to say about this album. It was fine, not super memorable. The only thing that stuck out to me was the vocals being pretty pitchy and/or cracking at times, and they were just not all that great to me.

Lglzinho

This wasn't for me

2.2 What the hell was that. I was wondering why on earth it had been included until the Killing Moon came on.. it was a one hit wonder for a reason. Really really didn't need to have that as one of the top 1,001 albums everyone must here, come on man. Use your brain. I'm rating on the original album, if I was including the cover of all you need is love in there it would nosedive even further. Jesus.

Listened, but cant say I enjoyed.

As is so often the case with this website, this was my first foray into a band and it’s work. Ocean Rain, at points, had me calling out comparisons to The Cure, and even Talking Heads, which helped fuel my further intrigue around this particular cut. However, whilst there were some high points (The Killing Moon), the record, I felt at times, lacked teeth for myself to really get into the album, something I wanted to do. Two stars.

Druid rock.

Interesting parts but not really for me. 2.5 goin down.

David Bowie sounding. 80s.

I was really disappointed by this. I know their two famous tracks, Killing Moon and The Doors cover, People Are Strange. So I expected something quite different. Not necessarily what I would like, but something more experimental and off the wall. What I got was was an album that was decidedly average for time time it was released. Nothing special at all. And therefore very disappointing. 2.

I enjoyed the singles on here. Their signature sound but with an even more dramatic production. But the rest of the album was just a bit rubbish.

This just didn’t do it for me

So easy to tune this out.

Was looking forward to hearing the Killing Moon for the first time in many a day but the live version included here was disappointingly weak.

I felt absolutely apathetic at everything this album was giving. Not too far off from how I feel about this band in general; they were no doubt pushing boundaries for their time, but I'm just not at all interested in any of the offerings.

O.K. But they sound a bit too theatrical to me. Overall less remarkable. 2,5

1 extra star for Seven Seas cuz that was a banger

It all sounded almost the same to me. Nothing felt super unique.

80s indie is just not my jam, turns out.

2/5. Not horrible, but garbage to my ears.

OK album, I guess, but nothing even remotely memorable. 2/5

idk sounds sorta like the smiths

Boring. 2/5

Nichts Besonderes, sehr unauffällig und hm

Not my thing.

Not the best

Didn't care for this at all, from music to production value, I found it lacking.

Not for me. 2.5 stars

Kinda disappointing.

I really wished I liked this. The production is amazing, the vocal performances are unique, and the melodies have a bittersweet tone that few do well. Unfortunately, not a single song really resonated with me throughout the whole album. It was not an unpleasant listen, but just didn’t connect with me personally.

1980s - meh.

A few good songs, but didn't really like most of it.

Another boring 80s new-wave/post-punk record. Except for the songs 'Nocturnal Me' (a haunting tune with great string arrangements), 'Killing Moon' (classic) and the closer, I didn't care for anything else. There maybe good lyrical content but who cares when the music is so bland.

O álbum "Ocean Rain" do Echo & The Bunnymen não me conquistou.

The better known songs are the better songs, we all know them. I do like the bunnymen but there are a few songs on here I'm really not mad about.

Okay, album. Not one of my favorites.

The Killing Moon was great, the rest is not my thing Not terrible

I just don't think this album is that strong. "The Killing Moon" is the one great track, the rest just didn't work for me.

Good to finally put an album and song (The Killing Moon) to a band that frequently pops up in movies, trivia, other band's songs, pop culture, the kitchen table, you name it. I have heard of these guys for decades and never took a listen but always wondered why they are so referenced. This album was pretty good with orchestral additions to standard 80s new age. Again I didn't like the title track so much which is a theme for the list for me. All in all a good one one but not s great one...2.45.

It okay. Like a boring version of the Smiths.

It was acceptable. I think it is on the list because it was listed in High Fidelity, which Adam pointed out.

The Killing Moon //

Come on. There's no way this band warrants three albums on this list. This was OK, better than Porcupines. But god damn. Where's the humanity?

I saw this band live once and am as unimpressed now as I was back then. The music is dull and sounds like Depeche Mode, or several other bands of the era.

Never really been the biggest fan of the guys singing. Some songs are also just quite weird. The instrumentals are pretty cool in a lot of the songs but get overpowered by his singing. The Killing Moon is a song that I didn't know that I knew.

You can hear other artists throughout this album, from U2 to Arcade Fire, and radio hits such as Don't You Forget About Me and I Melt with You. This album is very 80s post-punk at its core. Having the orchestra is nice, and there are some interesting ideas, but its mixing and production are so 80s pop that you have to listen too hard to get much deeper than the vocals. Overall, I see why it got mixed reviews upon release.

absolutely uninteresting save for the killing moon.

1.5 Really don't like this band. Terrible vocalist. Uninteresting songs. Their sound overall is just not for me

That 80’s bass sound is so distinctive it’s almost funny. It’s very U2 but also reminds me of like the Friends theme song. I appreciate where this line of thinking lead us but it’s not an enjoyable time for me. I don’t hate it BooH-style but I’m pretty sick of the same tempo/key/sound by the end of the record The stuff that sounds like Arcade Fire is still decently vibrant. The stuff that sounds like single-mic U2 demos is laughably uninteresting to me.

Found this album a bit boring despite liking The Smiths and The Cure Et Al it just wasn’t for me.

2nd album of Echo And The Bunnymen. I'm no fan, but I listened to much worse stuff here.

This was a very 80s album. It wasn't very interesting to me, but I did like a few songs. "My Kingdom" was my favorite. I wouldn't listen to this again, grateful for the short run-time. 4/10

zzz... zzz...

Better than the Cure but that’s not really high praise. On par with Joy Division/New Order but I like those better.

Liked the title track but other than that, nothing remarkable.

Competent, bit not captivating. Like a less interesting Arcade Fire. I wouldn't mind if I never heard this again really. Two yawning stars.

only good song was the killing moon otherwise soooooo boring

Some of the extended takes sounding quite contemporary. Definitely get the doors comparison here but not as convinced by the lead. Drifted through the album a bit.

The Killing Moon, I bought as 12 inch single when it came out. An excellent track that is so much better than anything else on this album

More meh, Ocean Rain has a good first track and not a lot else, too much 80s, another 2, please save me from this meandering meh.

Very 80s, didn't really stand out from the bulk of the other synthy 80s stuff we've had over the course of the last couple of years. The Killing Moon is great in patches, but drags out too long, the other singles are fine, but not particularly memorable, and there's nothing else to write home about. Another 2/5.

Not sure how I felt while listening to this. 2*, just ok, but didn't invoke anything in me. Maybe proto-other-stuff-I-like, but meh. Highlight: the killing moon

One good song - Killing Moon - and a couple of cool guitar sounds here and there, but otherwise pretentious tosh with lyrics like anguished Sixth Form Poetry - "Thorn of Crowns", indeed.

This album is familiar mostly for Killing Moon which still stands and is pretty nice with its funky Kyoto style guitar. The remainder has not really stood the test of time. When they are singing about cabbages and cucumbers, that's the poorest section of the album.

Very little to like here other than not being offensive.

Not my style. This sounds like the type of music some of my nerdier friends back in high school were listening to in the late 80's/early 90's. I don't hate it, but I won't be listening to this again.

First of all, absolutely terrible band name. Tried to get into the album, which I could not.

After reading what Echo themselves thought of this album I removed a Star. He literally described this as THE greatest album ever.

i know this is foundational, but i find it kinda boring.

A few bops but a lot of goofy overwrought tracks.

One awesome song does not make a good album.

Trying symphonic Rock to Post Punk and failing both. Most well known song might be "The Killing Moon" (movie Donnie Darko").

Yet another 80s/90's British band. Post-Punk / New Wave, blah blah blah. At least I've heard of these guys, though I can't think of anything by them. So why is this a "must listen to album"? Per wikipedia, it was "released to mixed reviews.", the follow-up to "the poor reception" of their previous album. Parke Puterbaugh of Rolling Stone rated the album two out of five stars and described it as "too often a monochromatic dirge of banal existential imagery cloaked around the mere skeleton of a musical idea". So it wasn't critically acclaimed. It hit #4 in UK, but only 87 in USA, not exactly a popular juggernaut. It carries a 3.19 rating here, pretty weak. Anyway, upon listening, I find just what I expected (feared?). 2/5

Was going to give this a one. The album as a whole is forgettable. But the Killing Moon is so amazing. The song on its own is a 4. Bumped the whole album to a 2.

Can't help but picture a young William Shatner as their singer for some reason.

Listening carefully, I've noticed that the lyrics are 90% incoherent bullshit. The backing is nice enough jingly guitar stuff. It's devoid of anything interesting, really though.

80s music just doesn't sit well with me. I dread it everytime I see it come up.

Extremely bland. Their hit "The Killing Moon" is bearable.

Not listened yet

Monotonous

It's a fine album but nothing about it speaks to me. With no nostalgic connection to it, the album just feels a bit too dated.

+1 für "The Killing Moon")

Ew. Awful

There’s a line in “High Fidelity,” which this band is mentioned in btw, that says “I just want something I can ignore.” That about sums this up. Was it bad? No. Was it deserving of this list? Probably. Would I listen again? If there was nothing else and I needed to ignore something with music playing, then yes I would.

Not hooked

Bit dull

Didn’t we already do this? One album from this group is enough.

Very 80s jangle-pop, which is not even nearly my kind of thing. A bit more interesting than some of their peers, with a slight gothic edge to the sound, but still fairly forgettable. The most memorable track is "The Killing Moon" - which is rightly more famous than all the other songs put together!

Zzzzzzzzzzzz. It's fine.

It was short. That's the best thing about it. It wants to be what the Cure became but it doesn't see what's going to make that work.

Listening to this album feels like playing around with a sensory bottle. At first, you are intrigued and entertained by the colorful waviness. But after a few minutes you are left with only indifference.

Neopsicodelia. Bastante rollo. Un 2.

#107. I bet 90% of the people that like this say things like "You wouldn't have heard of them," "I liked them before they were cool" [they were never cool], and "I haven't listened to the radio since 2009" 2/5: I've already forgot what this album sounded like.

I was hoping the rest of the album lived up to the one song I knew off of it, the one song everybody knows. Alas, there’s a reason why after all this time it’s the only breakout from the album. The rest is pretty lack-luster compared.

Felt like is was listening to the cure?

Irgendwie nicht wirklich melodisch oder besonders rythmisch

not for me

20/100 Based on this scale: 1 star - 0 to 19 2 stars - 20 to 39 3 stars - 40 to 59 4 stars - 60 to 79 5 stars - 80 to 100 This is not nearly interesting enough, musically speaking, to be as pretentious as it manages to be. Also, the vocals have a Bonoesque quality about them. Ew. It barely made two stars, because I've heard worse.

Okay album. The highlights here are “The Killing Moon” and “Seven Seas” The lowlight here is “Thorn of Crowns”.

I couldnt STAND this album. Because i was in office I listened to it, but this band is not my thing.

Wasn’t super into it and probably wouldn’t have found or listened to the album on my own but I’m glad to listen to new stuff. The second track did give me some crusader vibes on the way to work though.

Pretty mid, didn’t like the voice. Sounds like a band Coldplay was inspired by but ended up doing everything better. Interesting concepts I guess

Don't have a ton to say about this one which is perhaps damning on its own. It was fine, but I struggle to even pick out a standout song. A lot of albums on this list seem ahead of their time in production value and this is not one of them. I was surprised to read this is from 1984 rather than the 60s. Sonically inoffensive but meh earns it a 2. Song going on my "1001 Songs" Playlist: The Killing Moon Songs Going On My "1001 Albums Savelist" Playlist: None

Other than "under a killing moon," there wasn't a song I would go back and listen to again.

I could've sworn I had already gotten this album because the cover looked really familiar so I went through my history and found that I've had not one but two of Echo's albums before. I vaguely remember like one song total from those two combined and won't remember anything about this one either aside from the killing moon, which basically saves this album. It's very similar to the a-ha and soft cell albums in that this had basically nothing going for it aside from the one song that's really good and was super popular. Boring post-punk/new wave trash then like 4 minutes of good shit then trash again. Unlike Take on me, though, killing moon isn't good enough for the entire album to get a 3.

60’s psychedelic meets 80’s synthwave. Not bad

Not my thing.

How many fucking Echo and the Bunnymen records are on this list? At least this one has “Killing Moon”.

Glemte visst å rata detta, men da e litt skuffande.

Totally unremarkable. It felt like an 80s album. No need to revisit

Honestly, not really my thing. Came across as pretentious to me.

Decent sounding but nothing special to me

not that interesting

Not bad by any means, it just does nothing for me

Kinda bland, although it has one or two okay tracks. It has a kinda wanky new-wave aesthetic that I'n not a big fan of

Meh, not for me

80s popmuziek, beetje 13 in een dozijn.

Heard nothing that The Cure weren't doing 10 times better at the time. The Seven Mary Three of 80s gothiness

Decent enough

One good song

Self important drivel. The music video for Seven Seas is extra bad.

First listening fell short for me, to be honest. The album sounded two-dimensional, which is super odd given the arrangements seemed pretty elaborate, and the lyrics landed as either rambling or senselessly disjointed (I'm looking at you 'Thorn of Crowns'). And yet, while I listened to the album, I couldn't hear it and not think of Frightened Rabbit; I had to give it another chance. Yeah, nope. Still not into it. At least I'm listening to 'The Midnight Organ Fight' now, so I've got that going for me.

It's alright, but it's a little bland and forgettable.

extremely mid, even bad. not really my taste, but I get the 80s sound they were going for and were a part of.

Pop tranquilo y melódico, sin destacar especialmente. Un tanto plano. Ningún corte de renombre. Voz sin muchas estridencias.

Okay. It's fine. I don't really care. Cool name though.

Not terrible, but very British and very 80s.

New wave really isn’t for me. The 80s sucked.

on the cover you can see the band trapped in the special circle of dante's hell reserved for eighties cult bands. they are condemned to sail round in circles eternally fishing for melodies. they will catch none. only dead bunnies well, okay, the killing moon is good. but the rests of this album is joyless in execution with no melodies and annoying pretentious lyrics nocturnal me i find very creepy lyrically echo and the boo-nymen

Some nice orchestration with upbeat songwriting, but nothing overly special to me

Neopsicodelia. Bastante rollo. Un 2.

Didnt offer much to me

The Killing Moon is great track, the rest of the album was largely forgettable

It was alright and wasn't my genre

Really just not my jam... 2/5 I did finish the album for the most part

If 1001 albums was a genre this would be it, this checks all the boxes. This is the most 1001 sounding album. It’s alright I guess but I don’t really feel anything from it . I’m sure it was probably influential on 80’s/ 90’s alternative but maybe it is one of those had to have been there things. 2.5

Forgetful

Dramatic wavy guitar pop with wimpy vocals. Greek, mediterranen, arabic licks on some of the songs cannot hide the fact that this kind of music has been outdated. Nothing personal but compared to „musical milestones“ this sounds pretty ordinary to my snotty and spoiled ears.

Wasn't a big fan.

Thorn of Crowns made me uncomfortable. Music was alright.

I'll swear by The Killing Moon and title track all day long and twice on Sunday. The rest of this just comes across as overlay pretentious. For those who look down upon The Cure and Joy Division.

Progenitors of Emo show their chops on this mostly mellow, moody outing.

"The Yo Yo Man" had a nice hook. But the best that can be said for the rest of the album is that it is doesn't suck.

I hear a lot of David Bowie in this album, specifically in nocturnal me. Also definitely some Smiths influence. Weird that the band tried to market the album as greatest ever made. Not a huge fan but also not atrocious.

Another album that I never got round to buying back in the day. Record shop decisions on a Saturday afternoon were random. Different factors could influence your choice. The common theme was usually girls and how my latest purchase may - or may not - impress them. I didn't do too badly by turning down Macca and Co. This album is dramatic in places, but equally lame in others. The singles stand out with Silver in particular punching strong. The rest of the record sounds like dodgy Doors demos. My memories of Echo & The Bunnymen are of losers wearing long coats, lurching around at Youth Club discos. I was having all the fun with my Streetsounds compilations and snogs.

Amazing how all 80s-era Britpop albums manage to sound exactly the same across the vox, instrumentals, and general melodic feel. This was a pleasant listen but lacks any distinguishing features to make me feel it warrants inclusion here.

Just listened and cannot remember a thing about it. I don’t even think it was bad, I just can’t remember. Album cover: 3/5 I like all the blue

Didn’t listen

Just alright

Eurythmics had me in a mid 80s frame of mind but Echo and the B could not keep me there. I sensed struggling in the vocals perhaps due to trying to figure out how to make the vocals work with the new found orchestration. The music wasn’t interesting enough to save the vocals.

Killing Moon is nice but I was a bit disappointed by the rest

Not really a fan.

No real stand out songs, all songs kinda just flowed by without any real good ones sticking out to me

that one song was really good

Trying to hard to be edgy but just coming across as pretentious instead. Very disappointing.

It's OK, I don't hate it at all but its not for me.

Never heard of these guys, another British band. Perfectly inoffensive '80s alt rocky stuff, which means we'll probably get another few albums from them too. I liked a couple songs, "The Killing Moon" even sounded familiar. But yeah, it's one of those that I will forget very quickly. Indistinct. Favorite tracks: The Killing Moon, Crystal Days. Album art: Looks like these guys are boating in some deep cave? I don't know what the surrounding sky or scene is supposed to be. It looks pretty cool, but hard to decipher. 2.5/5

The first time I heard the band name 'Echo & The Bunnymen', I thought it was a novelty group, like Weird Al. And since I already loved Weird Al, my first thought was the Echo were a copycat and I never gave them a listen. Having listened now, 'The Killing Moon' is the only real standout for me. The rest of it just never gets there, wherever there is. It's not here, though, I know that. What do I want - more Cure? More Erasure? More Depeche Mode? Yeah, probably something like that. This one never broke through.

meh. not overly impressed. not my first bunnymen rodeo. still remained uninspired by them in general. i'm sure they have a niche, kind of like how crocs have a niche in footwear world.

It's more than a little overblown is my first impression. Did they really need the symphonic orchestra on every track? It's a bit like if the Smiths of The Bad Seeds were fronted by Liam Gallagher or Mary Whitehouse (or even post 2005 Morrissey). All the drama, none of the humour or beauty. Killing Moon is a good song though. That's about as good as I can do. Other than that, this was a slog.

On first listen I was going to give this a 2 because I was largely bored out of my mind by it. Then I heard the last/title track and loved it, so I thought I might have missed something on the rest of the album so I listened to it all the way through again but no turns out it’s mostly just boring

I was in a bit of a bad mood, so that didn’t help but I couldn’t get into it and it felt a bit repetitive

Didn’t know what to expect going into it. It was okay, wouldn’t search it out.

Killing Time is a stunning tune... the rest (apart from Silver & Seven Seas) are absolute garbage.

i know a few songs by echo and the bunnymen, which i really enjoy, but i was expecting to enjoy this album more than i did. the album left me disappointed, but it did include their biggest hit! "the killing moon" was the standout, easily. the choice to include a backing orchestra makes for some gorgeous sounds, especially on "nocturnal me." but still, most songs were forgettable and a little too weird sounding for me.

Now I know what all the fuss is about... not much.

Best Song: Seven Seas. Somewhat energetic, liked the gang vocals. Worst Song: The Yo-Yo Man. Really just sounds like a budget version of The Doors here. Overall: Put another one on the growing pile of English mediocrity. Is this "1001 Albums to Hear before you Die" or "1001 Albums One Man Heard On His Local Radio"?

Boring British garb.

not my sorta music but it sounded good but I'm also never gonna listen to it again probably

Wasn’t a fan of the sound of the lead’s voice.

This was hilariously bad. Horrid singing, no songs worth enjoying, just boring. Somehow "The Killing Moon" has 117m plays on Spotify. 3/10.

More 80s Curish/Smithsish stuff that felt fairly generic to me. Recognized The Killing Moon and I don't know why.

I hate new wave.

Not my taste in 80s rock

The Killing Moon is a great song. The rest of the album seems pretty good. I'd enjoy hearing this one again. 2/5 for now.

Ihan kivaa poppista, mut erityisesti Thorn of Crownsista fiilis on "huonompi Talking Heads".

an awesome The Killing Moon and a bunch of crap

The first five tracks or so were so bland. Kicked up a bit later and I actually saved Seven Seas for permanent rotation. Must be influential or something, because standing alone it’s not terribly worth the time.

Strange music. Not really interesting

not bad but really not my deal. I really like the tile track though.

Weird album, goes from kind of generic british chill rock to punk and back to rock again. An album with no particular songs that are real good, but instead a few songs that I would certainly not place in this album.

Sin mucho que decir

Killing Moon is a great track, but I prefer the Cutter. A whole album of those vocals was a little hard for me to stomach.

Mostly absolute pants

Not that impressed....some decent tracks later on tho

This album just isn't very musical and so it doesn't do anything much for me. The Killing Moon is good but I wouldn't like to hear any of this stuff in more than small quantities.

meh 2 stars

I tried, but I just couldn’t get into it. It feels like it has potential, but it just doesn’t with me.

This was fine, I don’t see myself returning to it again and again though.

Recognise The Killing Moon. I know these guys are highly rated, don't know anything about them though. They sound British and a bit ahead of their time for 80s. Can see how they're popular and can hear how much they've influenced modern music. But hard to love it after one listen, so 2/5

Ugh. Yet another weird ass boring British band. Production value is all over the place, and the songs are boring. I’m sure it fills a space in the narrative linking punk to new wave or something, but no.

Nothing I was necessarily familiar with but the album was fairly consistent. No real standouts aside from maybe The Killing Moon.

sinmas

Meh, relatively boring. Some high points, the killing moon reminded me a little of machine punch through by moist.

First 2 songs, I did not like at all, but got through them. 3& 4 were good but then 5 was a hard listen. 6,7,8 & 9 were ok. I find it hard to beleive that there isnt better albums that didnt make the 1001 list. I gave it 2 Stars - listened to it but not again.

Let's try to sound like REM

Not really feeling this.

Apathetic to the majority of the tracks. If this album was only The Killing Moon it would be awesome.

Sounded more Jangle Pop than Post-Punk, which is a shame because I like Post-Punk but not Jangle Pop. The edgier songs were highlights (Thorn of Crowns), but those were rare. Found myself mostly bored throughout.

Mwah, kon hier niet zoveel mee.

1st song baited me into thinking it would be a fun album

More like 2.5. It's fine to listen to but does get a bit boring after a while.

Overrated. Still 1 classic song

The Killing Moon feels like it was recorded by a different band. Which is unfortunate as it is the best song by quite a margin.

Hmmm, what would make this a must listen album? Not terrible, but not much else going on for me. I listened twice but it just missed the mark. Would prefer an album I hated so I least I would have something to say.

Fine. Not for me.

Hey it has those songs I recognize from a movie or something. Not bad.

It didn’t catch my attention enough to remember the next day. Genetic 80s music.

Standard 80s

Don‘t like his voice

I must be a tough, one man crowd. This didn't grab me at all. Except for Killing Moon, which is such an ace track, the rest failed to inspire any foot tapping and have since been forgotten. 2.7/5, probably would have been a 1 if not for Killing Moon.

Such a disappointing album. Every song seemed to have so much potential to begin with. But the way they used each track made it a pretty hard listen. Songs I liked: 1/5

Genuinely not great.

this is ass 1/10 Will I add this album to my library? no

Tvö lög ágæt, hitt óspennandi.

Despite my appreciation for Killing Moon, I did not enjoy this album.

Not my thing

Oh I really don't like it. Maybe the guy's voice?

Vocals are like nails on a chalkboard

nada que decir. Muy lejos de ser de mi agrado. No le encuentro gracia

Nocturnal me is familiar but else wise…1

the killing moon és la bso de donnie darko!! prou sin más m'he avorrit un poc

Fuck this is rough.

Did not like one second of this. Cannot understand the appeal.

it wasn't acceptable in the 80s

Meandering and boring. Has no discernible direction other than being uninteresting. Decent opening track then devolves into an entirely skippable album. Hard pass

Dagge får sitt new wave lystmäte tillfredsställt igen....

Self- important claptrap.

Strange band from the 80’s and 90’s. No big hits. Think they tried to copy other bands of the time. (INXS, The Cure, etc.)

I can’t listen to any more bad British music from the 80s. Please make it stop.

BRUTAL LISTEN. WANNABE JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. SOUNDS SO MUCH LIKE BLEACHERS, WHO I ALSO HATE LOL 80'S POP IS VERY HIT OR MISS FOR ME, ESPECIALLY SOFT POP LIKE THIS. BOOOOO

Really weird and bad, somewhat laughable in fact

Found this quite dull, my only recollection being thinking thst if they stuck on Editors’ weird effects peddle it’d be infinitely better. But as I’m not musical myself I have no idea if that peddle exists or if they even sound like a stripped back Editors

1. zilver - 1 2. me - 1.5 3. cryztal - 1.5 4. yo yo - 1.5 5. crouunz - 1 6. moon - 1.5 7. zeven - 1 8. kindom - 1.5 9. rain - 1.5

What was the point of this, it was awful at the time and age has withered it more.

Echo and the bunnymen suck. Period. Who put them/this album on the list. Jesus, this is a suckfest 1001 album worthy: No - 49/87

A very talented lead singer. The vocal mix is too loud and the underlying music is too boring.

I cant put my thoughts on this album to words without using derogatory slurs so I'll stay quiet

Completely unremarkable until that all you need is love/Dylan cover came on. That was trash

Not for me

I don't get it at all.

OK, I can tolerate it. \"Yo Yo Man\" Very computerized.

Yes, drama-kid, I see you. You're very dark and mysterious. Don't forget your lunchbox.

Another Echo and the Bunnymen album on this list, and just like the previous ones, another album that I will never think about again.

Just don't like this band.

Not for me. It's an automatic 1 for Mr Rabbit. (Even though I did listen to the album, I found nothing of interest)

Nothing to write home about.

Too many bland UK rock bands so far.

No real positives from this album.

Really weird 80s album. Ton of synthesizer etc

Talking Heads is that you?? No part of me is begging to relisten to this

Very dated 80's punk/psychedelia. Not for me.

- Orchestra makes it sound like a movie soundtrack - this album exists in a weird world, like it should be the Donny darko theme - It just doesn’t click for me

Slogging through this was like eating sand. As if the title “Nocturnal Me” wasn’t bad enough, the listener is then subjected to what evokes a creepy rapist villain in a low budget musical forcing his kidnapped victim to listen to his sexual assault agenda in advance. Let’s hope she escapes before having to listen to the entire disaster. As if to reinforce the sleazy predator vibe with zero self awareness, “Thorn of Crowns” exposes us to McCulloch’s pathetic, nauseating, and odious orgasmic moaning for 4 hellish minutes or until we leave to take a shower. You almost have to applaud this level of mastadonic narcissism. “Killing Moon” was ok. I would give this 0 stars if I could.
