Reviews (page 10 of 11)

I could never properly get into goth music but I really love it’s vibe. She’s such a talented singer. Fav song is ‘Spellbound’.

Sorry I didn't enjoy it

It was chill, not really what im into though

Nääh

I found this to be a bit tiring

I enjoyed her voice (very Ann Wilson from Heart or Stevie Nicks) but every song sounded the same to me. Not my cup of tea

This album was definitely not my favorite. It sounds like it’s from 1981 for sure. There’s some bits and pieces of some cool guitar and drums throughout it, but it was all taken away by that Pat Benatar style voice that I cannot stand. Some of the drums almost reminded me of a Phil Collins sound, but not enough to outweigh the not-so favorable in my opinion. No saves or standouts from this album. The song “Voodoo Dolly” was absolutely atrocious.

I’m sure it was groundbreaking in its day but outside of the historical significance I’m not sure it’s aged very well

This was ok, but got worse towards the end. The last two tracks were a bit of a dumpster fire

After hearing them name checked in friends and also other songs in the past I was expecting good things. Unfortunately the album started a bit underwhelming with ‘spellbound’ for me, however things picked up with the next track and the best song on the album ‘into the light’ The rest of the album just played- I had no need to find out track names as I didn’t find anything to stand out. It wasn’t a bad album- it just wasn’t good and certainly didn’t feel unique. An underwhelming 4/10 Best track ‘into the light’ Worst track- ‘Halloween’

Not much but noise to me

I only liked spellbound

Another time capsule trip - this time back to the origins of 80s Goth culture.

Det er så tyyyyynnnnttttt. Redda av første låta.

I was really looking forward to listening to this. I used to love Siouxsie and the Banshees in my youth. And whilst the album did have a couple of good numbers, it was mainly noise..

Was not super into this tho not awful. Arabian knights was fun

Not really alternative in my mind, but seemed eh.

Starts strong but looses a lot of momentum on the second half.

Kind of boring ? Not my favorite

Too aggressive, didn't love it

Men creds for voodoo, spoookyyyyy, vibes. Kunne sagtens høre igen til oktober.

Another instance of interesting music that is diminished by a singer that doesn’t resonate with me. I know people love Siouxsie, but I never really liked her tone and it just takes away from what the rest of the band is doing for me.

Not feeling it really. I'm not a fan of early 80s post punk production, the guitars are too trebly, too weak, and mixed too low. All the of reverb you can muster, makes every song sparce but still somehow cluttered? The songs feel stretched out and not very interesting, plodding but performed as if they're energetic. I found I couldn't get into it, like when a child is annoying you by singing a song they made up and you have to listen to them to be polite and they just keep going and going and you really want to get up and do something else. Like, I get it, you're being all spooky and enigmatic, well done, can I go yet? The only good part is, above all the image and fashion that so many people latch onto in the scene above all else, Siouxie is a brilliant vocalist and performer. I feel like you have to suspend a lot of belief to get into certain genres of music, you have to let the theatrical and contrived songs do their thing and accept it for what it is in order to "get" it. With post punk, I just don't get it.

Decent overall but forgettable. Last track was rubbish. Wouldn’t listen again

There's something interesting in it, but I didn't really like it. Wasn't bad

Not my cuppa. I dont understand what cultural impact they had either

I didn’t know this band before apart from one song I liked I wasn’t impressed by the album it’s listenable not t bad but nothing that gets me excited to listen again

this clearly influenced bands like interpol & metric, maybe yeah yeah yeahs.

Just not super into the 80s new wave sound

I enjoyed this more than I expected to. I appreciated the clear guitar sounds, very of its time in a good way

It's ok

I hate goth rock and post punk so much that if you make a goth rock post punk album that I don’t completely hate then you must have done something right. I didn’t particularly like this album, but I hated it way less than I assumed I might.

Surprisingly not my thing

I really wanted to like this, but I don't. 'head cut' was fun when she was screaming and going wowwwowoww and making weird noises. The rest of the album is kinda dreary and repetitive.

I was really digging the first two songs and then the rest of the album didn’t go anywhere interesting to me. Still a fun listen!

i don't think i like this. cool band name. cool vocals. weird everything else. maybe adding this one to my list of reasons i hate british people.

Did not really enjoy

Rörigt

Didn't much care for this one

This album started off okay for me. I didn’t mind the opening track, Spellbound, and I quite enjoyed Into the Light, but overall it went downhill from there. I’m personally not a huge fan of her voice, and the rest of the album felt pretty similar and, at times, mundane, the same vocals, melodies, and instrumentals repeated throughout. Nothing really grabbed my attention or kept me engaged after the first couple of tracks. First two songs, 3.5, the remainder of the album 2

Overall found it kind of boring and uninspiring

I was listening to this during work and I literally felt myself check out for easily 3 songs of the album which I don’t know if that is my fault or the music…. I’m gonna blame the music.

Female rage-y but very repetitive formula

Not for me.

Some places here and there I thought were enjoyable, but for the most part, I felt I was listening to a Geddy Lee sing-alike w/ his garage band.

Not bad overall but only a few moments stood out to me.

2.5 - Overall forgettable.

While I truly believe that Siouxsie And The Banshees are important to R&R I do not care for any of their music. I'm assuming this is their best work?

I wasn’t a big fan.

Some interesting vocals and instrument use but not really my thing

meh, Arabian nights was decent

Spellbound best of a bad bunch

mid, but at least lead singer is woman

Love the drum tuning of early songs. Spellbound, Into the Night, Arabian Nights a great 3 song run, but a lot of the other songs felt monotonous and either flat or just noisy. Arabian Nights Night Shift

Not for me.

Interesting, probably important to the genre, but not my bag of cheez-its.

not trying to get cancelled but i don’t like this. i know i should but i dont. im sorry! maybe need to revisit and give another listen …. will if you’re reading this im sorry bc i know this is the weird shit that makes you foam at the mouth

Droned on, kind of boring.

This was very bleh and underwhelming.

Generally very one note, only a couple songs stand out even though no one song is “bad” on its own (except for the opening track)

Sounded okay actually but a 2.

Did not finish, I'm too busy

This is pretty good. I like the bass playing and singer's voice. It does wear out its welcome for me towards the end, but all in all a solid album.

Repetitive album with tracks that shine similarly by rhythm and cadence. This album offers a solemn consistency for those who seek it.

Started off really enjoying the vocals and layering of sounds, but it became repetitive and I got bored by the end of the album. 2.5/5

I enjoyed this. You can definitely tell they were the inspiration for lots of bands that came later! I came away with a new song added to my favorites playlist, and that’s a win in my book.

A few good songs, "Spellbound" was descent.

Meh. Very forgettable. One or two tracks were fine but mostly I didn't really enjoy this.

I just don't like this style of singing. Sorry goths.

Not really my favorite genre :(

did nothing for me

I knew about Siouxsie and the Banshees and have only listened to spellbound and honestly, it wasn't really my vibe, so I never really explored them much after that. After listening to the whole album, it still isn't really my vibe except for "Into the light" which was pretty cool. This was only my first listen so maybe it could grow on me if I listen to it another time.

this was not great. the lyrics weren't interesting. music was boring

I really really wanted to like this one... but I found it quite grating and was relieved when it ended.

I like the songs monitor and Night Shift. The rest of the album, I’m glad someone made this album and I’m happy for them, but I don’t love it. This album listening thing has made me very irritated with my music critic voice in my head. Like I don’t need to be a music critic. My opinion on music shouldn’t sound like a music critics opinion. Ratingthings from one to five stars kind of set it up to be a music critic exercise. I feel compelled to say something interesting about why I like or don’t like an album. I think for the most part I’ll stick with how it makes me feel and if I like it or not. I don’t have anything like that to say for this album because I was pretending to be a music critic while every song. Next time.

Initial impressions: I don't hate it, but I don't care for it.

This isn’t the worst post punk stuff we’ve had but still not snuck a 3

Never been a big fan. Not terrible but not great

Tomciu daje 3, Zosia 2/2-.

A lot of screaming, I wasn't in the right mood for this album.

The problem with Siouxsie And The Banshees is, the general aesthetic and the overarching artistic ambition are not always matched by the quality of the final product. On this outing, the modulation drenched guitars, gothic mood and distinct vocals outshine the actual songs, which are mostly fairly unexciting. Not completely awful, but they're capable of better. Juju is a bit of a slog to get through, with little reward to be honest.

It's fine. Not a huge fan.

Weird, discordant at times. Some songs seemed not too bad, others were borderline unlistenable.

Melhor do álbum: "Night Shift". Pior do álbum: "Voodoo Dolly".

Dá pra aproveitar Into the Light e Monitor

Ok I guess

Some high points but ultimately not 3 ⭐ material

I saw Siouxsie and the Banshees at the first Lollapalooza, but back then the only track I really knew was Kiss Them for Me, thanks to MTV overplay. Listening to Juju now, Spellbound hits hard right out of the gate—sharp, urgent, and totally magnetic. After that, though, the album loses steam. The songs start to blur together, carried by the same floaty vocals and increasingly bizarre lyrics. Shrunken heads? Voodoo? The atmosphere is cool at first, but eventually the weirdness feels more like a gimmick than a groove. Juju starts strong but doesn’t stick the landing.

It was honestly an alright listen, not my style and felt as if some of the songs were very very similar.

Good, but songs felt quite repetitive. Hearing the same riff repeated for the majority of the tune lost it for me. Monitor was one of the better songs and Spellbound.

Outside of spellbound, I wasn’t spellbound ⭐️⭐️

Really whatever.

Musically quite repetitive and flat. Rarely do songs on this album change much over the runtime and the vocals are very samey as well. Never quite got Siouxie and the Banshees or many bands of that era and style. Couple decent songs but deducted marks for how unremarkable most of the album was. Top Tracks = Into The Light & Night Shift

Proto-emo/goth. Spellbound is good. Clearly sort of an experimental album

Was alright, a bit off for me

Not a fan of punk.

More weird British shit. Didn’t love it.

Ela rates a 1 star, Adam rates a 3 out of 5 and I rate it 2

Didn’t dislike it, but didn’t love it

Dull, unlikable

not bad

I don't like it. If this had had a good producer, it might earn three stars. Now, it's barely two.

Not for me

I got kinda bored of this album really quickly, it’s a bunch of similar ideas and it doesn’t tonally change all too much, good songs just a bit repetitive

Love women on the list; however, another boring album from Siouxsie And The Banshees. A kind of bland punk sound that doesn't help with a mellow tone that persists through the album. Never been a big fan of that post-punk sound, and this album doesn't help.

Not a single song stood out to me

It was okay.

For as much as I like punk music, post punk just doesn't do it for me.

Didn't really enjoy this. Favourite Track(s): Monitor, Sin In My Heart Least Favourite Track(s): Halloween

Other than spellbound this did nothing for me. Can respect the art direction but just didn’t click

Similar to British Steel, I like the music this would have inspired more.

Heavy use of the tom-toms on Juju, which I guess makes sense from the Banshees. Their second entry into the 1001 Must Hear List is not as strong as their previous entry. This one is a middle of the road and comes in at (2.4*s)

I wasn’t really into it.

More 80s new wave post punk that is forgettable and doesn’t move me.

I found this manic and discordant so I didn't particularly enjoy listening to it but at least it wasn't boring.

I WANT to like this but I’m struggling…. I did appreciate the odd hiss / cat sound!

Meh. 2.5 rounded down.

This started out OK but then went downhill. Thought the music sounded like The Police on a few tracks. Another band where their popularity has always puzzled me.

Slightly better than The Scream but still not aurally enjoyable

Very witchy vibe. This album wasn’t my favorite and I have a feeling I’ll forget what it sounded like by tomorrow, but I can appreciate what they were going for here. Top 3 tracks in order for me were Night Shift, Spellbound, Headcut.

Mouais

Spellbound Arabian Knight

Arabian Nights! The album reminds me of Transvision Vamp. No wonder, also British from the same era. Solid 3 in the beginning, but drops down to a 2. Don’t like it that much

Föll mig inte riktigt i smaken.

Was really never a fan.

Same as the last album we’ve reviewed from them: this is fucking shite

Iconic songs, no doubt. I however struggle to enjoy the album. There's too much of a feeling of sameness. I also find out quite noisy, and that combination with the singer's voice just doesn't really do it for me.

I get Sisters of Mercy vibes. No idea who came first. Sometimes simplicity with lyrics doesn’t work for me. Would Into the Light be considered gothy blues? There really isn’t much to this band. I’m guessing their legendary status is mostly based on them being a female led band delving into the goth and punk genre. Maybe there are more women in the band, the name would tell me so but I do not research a band when I listen so I’m not influenced by what I read. I don’t consider this great but everything does work well together. It’s straight forward goth and punk music for the time it as released. Choice cut: Arabian Nights

Meh, rotete

Seriously it’s just noise. It’s not ‘groundbreaking’.

I knew Spellbound which I've never held much opinion on - it's fine - but nothing else on this album. Now I've heard everything else, I think "it's fine" might be my position on the whole album. Post-punk has never been my thing. 2/5

Couldn' get into it, I might revisit in a couple of weeks or months to see if I just don't like it or my mood had any influence on the reviews. Two srs for now.

Solid album, enjoyable. High 2s

Sounds like early U2. Some good songs but a lot of treble in the production. First song is solid. Night Shift is too. Didn’t really hold my attention though. Listened in a long hot walk.

I did not like this. I like woman singers fronting rock bands bands so that was good. But the music here was just not good for me.

The first couple of tracks are pretty cool, lost interest after that. Decent enough on second listen but not one to revisit. 2.5

Really mixed bag for me, and I'm kind of surprised by some of the other reviews here. Some of the songs here are seriously great, some of them I think are fine, and a few are genuinely some of the most painful and tough musical listens I have ever experienced. Like -- what the FUCK is going on with Into The Light?? That legitimately might be the worst song I've ever heard in my life. But, then, Spellbound fucks. So. Yeah. Fave songs: - Spellbound - Monitor - Night Shift

This album is ok. Not great. Not horrible. Why can’t the albums of artists with their best known songs be chosen?

there’s nothing visibly wrong with them but don’t know why i just can’t enjoy how everything sound together. tried a second listen on spellbound after reading so many great reviews and ok this one is nice

I should love this, I don’t.

Another album with loud distorted guitar, yipping and yelling vocals, and kinda shitty drum tones. “Voodoo Dolly” was scary.

Is it bad to say I like the sound not the vocals? In 2025, it feels like overly affected.

1 good song

Spellbound is the most interesting song on here but the others really didn’t capture my attention.

Meh. Maybe should have paid more attention to be honest. Probably worth trying again

Fun rock album with a different sound. No song really dragged me in though. Nothing wrong with it, its just not something that I would pick when choosing music.

Not for me

1981. British rock band with clear 80's vibe. More dark and mysterious. Decently enjoyable.

This has more isntruments than most alt-pop stuff that I am used to from the 80's. That's refreshing. Not for me though - still 80's pop, it could very well have been early 90's too.

I like some of their stuff, but this wasn't it

Started off strong with Spellbound, then devolved into a tuneless, caterwauling mess. I appreciate their influence on other bands I like much better, but they are not for me.

Monitor was the only track I enjoyed. Lacking depth and was eventually a grating listen. Got more distorted, more psychedelic sounding and lost the beat the longer the album went on. Lacking vocal midrange but I guess that’s post punk hallmark…

Will definitely check out their other albums but didn't care for this one. It was too brooding and found a lot of their songs outstayed their welcome. I did think 'sin in my heart" was a tune though.

naja, ist halt tlw. punk

Another punk British band - we need more variety!

Was kind of interesting at times but I expected to find more in it. Gave it 3 listens but didn't have anything stand out enough.

There is potential here. It is just off of clicking for me. So close. The production isn't doing much for me and the track lengths can be too long.

Decent

Not for me

Usually I like dark haired brooding chicks signing, but this one, im not really sure about...

Nothing special

honestly, not impressed. Kinda tinny and whiney.

Did not enjoy at all!

I listened to the original release (nine tracks), not the later release with three extra tracks. Siouxsie has a good singing voice for this genre. The songs are ok, although none of the tracks seemed memorable for me. When this album was released in 1981, punk rock was just becoming popular here, so if you were reviewing the album at that time it may have been fresh and different. But it is 2025 and to me it is dated and mundane.

**An ok album, many tracks sound alike (same beat, different words)

Many energetic performances here. But. it’s too much of the same thing — and that thing is angsty-anger. They have a particular sound and it’s a lot.

Honestly ... eh. It's weird, because I know that a huge number of musicians - including musicians I like - cite SATB as an inspiration, but this was a very meh album to me.

Its Okay, probably need more listens to truly process it all. Nothing pops out to me.

Cool tom beats 2.5

I like the idea of Siouxsie much more than I actually like the output

One of those albums I can't remember much of the next day.

Definitely not for me

Didn't fully click with me. I got the influence it had the specific gothic mood it created which was unique for the time but it felt a bit messy and the formula was improved greatly over time

The perfect music to play from a cassette while hanging at the mall on a Friday with the besties

Probably not for me. I could not appreciate the instrumental choices which was possibly the biggest factor for not being able to even complete this.

hurry for belarus. they are here. they are here now. you know what happens next.

zamn thats mid

First track was okay but I couldn't sustain interest in this alas.

Good voice, bit same-sounding across the album though. The album didn't light any fires in me.

Another longer album with an interesting album cover! Spellbound feels like I’m riding a speeding train - what an interesting song. Into the Light was alright. Arabian Knights was weird and funky but I kinda vibed with it. Halloween wasn’t really my vibe and neither was Monitor. Night Shift was an emo rock song which is not something I listen to typically, and for good reason. #depressedafterhearingit Sin in my Heart was more of the rock I’m used to and the quiet electric guitar in the background was sick. Head Cut and Voodoo Dolly were weirdddd, not my vibe. Voodoo Dolly was especially unsettling… Felt similarly about Spellbound and Arabian Knights 12” versions as the first songs, though I loved the percussion added to Spellbound in this version a lot. Fireworks was alright. Overall this album had a kooky vibe and it didn’t really hit for me. Thus I dub thee 2/5 stars. Fave song: Spellbound 12” Version Least fave song: Voodoo Dolly

I can see why it might have been quite influential but not really my cup of tea

Not my cup of tea sadly. I like Siouxsies stage looks though...

Bisschen anstrengend. Würde ich mir nicht nochmal anhören.

Too emo. From an era that should just be left to rot in its grave

Not really for me.

No, boring

Liked the first 2 songs, then same same

I don’t see any reason why this is a must listen album

80er Punk, etwas zu elektrisch. Liegt so zwischen 2 und 3 Sternen.

That's not my taste in music.

Nja....

I heard it while I was at work sitting in front of my desk. I don't know how to explain it, but it made me want to kill myself more than I'm used to. Not my cup of tea, it sounds gloomy and sad but shallow and pretentious. Didn't even pay attention to the lyrics, but I think, with titles such as "into the light" and "voodoo dolly", combined with the overall gloomy vibe, you don't need to pay attention to know what they're talking about. Didn't like it, won't give it another try. La canción Halloween me dio alto cáncer

I kept waiting for something to grab me on this album, but it never happened. Everything here blends together in a haze of reverb and post-punk moodiness, but there’s just not much substance under the style. The songs drag, the melodies feel recycled, and the whole thing comes off as more try-hard than groundbreaking. If you’re really into the brooding, gothic vibe, maybe you’ll find something to like. For me, it was just repetitive and dull. I could barely remember a single track after it ended.

Langweilig.

Just OK. Probably would not listen to them again tbh

I didn't really care about this one. It was just kinda boring background music.

S'okay. The instrumentals were great, but I couldn't get behind the vocals. It felt at times too repetitive between tracks.

5/10 One of those “I respect it but don’t like it” records Punky gothy rock that certainly was an influence on grunge 10 years later. Well produced, well sung. Got a vibe going. But that vibe was almost all that it had - this began to feel like variations on a very small theme, and the vocal style got one-note. Not for me. Best: Voodoo Dolly

I remeber the singles but this was very Toyah and gothy. I guess it probably influenced The Cure and the Cult.

ehhhhh

I feel very conflicted about this album. It definitely had moments of excellence, but is really hampered by inconsistent song quality and very shaky production on most of the songs. Dark and brooding proto nu-metal is mixed with tinny and shrill production that only leaves me slightly disappointed this wasn't better. Top tracks: Monitor, Night Shift

Weird chittering instrumental, screaming vocals. Not my thing.

not my style, but do appreciate the trivia around using Ebow in Sin in My Heart...

Not my jam but some moments I could almost enjoy.

While I can understand the historical importance of punk, that doesn't justify how ridiculously often it appears on this list. And albums like this are just about the most archetypal examples of why it shouldn't. Siouxsie's vocals aren't very appealing to begin with, and they sound even worse when double-tracked. It's gives off a very unprofessional and messy feel. McGeoch's guitar playing is similarly inaccessible, mostly avoiding any particularly good hooks or solos, and instead playing experimentally in a way that hasn't aged well since the early 80s. I'm very surprised that these were the two musical aspects most praised by critics, because they bring the music from decent, energetic rock down to near-unlistenable dreck. I do feel that I'm giving Siouxsie And The Banshees a little too much flak here. Some of the songs are genuinely pretty great – namely, the two opening tracks, Spellbound and Into The Light (the latter of which should've been the second single instead of Arabian Knights). Spellbound was an immediate hit for me and the rest of the album never quite reached the same energy. Great drumming and bass playing here too. Monitor is also a solid track, containing a simple yet elegant chord progression and a prog-esque textural journey. But the remaining six tracks... man, they're just not engaging at all. Really makes you wonder what was going on in Dimery's head. 2/5 Key tracks: Into The Light, Monitor, Spellbound

I really appreciate music of this era (and atmosphere). That being said, this one didn't grab me as much as others have. 2/5

trivial creep rock, her voice makes every song sound the same

I found the song writing to be mixed, to the extent that I don't want to listen to the album all the way through again. The better songs are decent and I'd happily return to them, although won't be adding to any particular playlists.

Cool to hear this sound this early, but in the context of “does one need to hear this before they die?” No. There are better examples from when this sound was further developed.

Pretty good

I saved Arabian Nights

Too much rhythm; not enough melody.

Post punk, lidt gothic

Couldn’t get into it

Growing up, all the cool alt kids were into this. I’d never heard a song of theirs before, but when I saw this pop up I was happy. This is the sort of thing I wanted to learn from this project. A band I would never listen to but for this. I will not be listening to them again. I’m old. This was just noise.

I can see the appeal. But it’s not my favorite!

To put it bluntly, I was not impressed by this album. The not-quite punk, not-quite rock genre with an early '80s feel is decidedly not for me. There's not much to dissect here, it was more or less annoying to listen to.

The guitars here were very interesting, and the vocals feel very representative of the era in which the album was released. Overall though, this does not leave much of a lasting impression. 2/5

I don't like Souxsie's vocal delivery, it grates after a while. It's not really 'singing', it's more a sort of controlled shouting. Some tracks are very good, but I can't stand to listen to a whole album.

Well it’s definitely post-punk. I was gonna give this a 3 until I realized it took like five tries for me to drag myself through this album.

Started out with grungey sound that I was enjoying then lost me towards the end with what sounds like exhaustion by the end of it

Not good really. I enjoyed a little bit but that's about it.

Probably not fair this came after disintegration on my list but still didn't do anything for me

Bit boring

Nichts besonderes.

Not really for me this to be honest. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either. Totally nonplussed by it.

Bit shouty

I wanted to like it but I kind of just didn’t. There were bits where I thought this is almost good and it would be turn into some of the worst singing and music playing I’ve heard. 4/10

Didn't care for it.

Nothing I would play again.

kind of interesting, glad it was on the list and worth a listen, but probably not going to listen again.

I’d give this a 2.5. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it either. I don’t think there’s anything innovative here, but I could see why people appreciate it in its time.

Well, it's similar as with Blur by Blur. You know a song, never had the chance (or simply never thought about) listening to more songs or an album by this band. You expect something you like. And you are let down. Generally the band has some turns, liked the song "Monitor" but did not like anything else on the album.

I gave Susy a try, but no.

It feels like this would belong to a genre that fits me well, but after listening through the record I can't name any songs that I liked. I wasn't y cup of tea at all somehow. Phaser-like effects on... basically anything, are usually something I am extremely fond of. But here I find it extremely overused on the guitar. I am not sure that I like the singer either, too much wailing and moaning. An interesting thing I found after skimming through it again is that the first few seconds of the opening riffs are usually pretty interesting, but then they loose it for me when everything else is added. Good examples would be 'Night Shift', 'Sin In My Heart', and 'Arabian Knights'. Anyways, didn't like it, it'll have to be a 2 tops.

Different

2/5. Almost like Sonic Youth with the female singer. Thus album did not really resonate with me. Just didn’t click.

Rock, Pop, NewWave, 1981 -> 2

2.5 A little gothy, but I think that’s mostly because of her voice. I enjoyed the beginning of the album but felt it got a little tired at the end. Not the worst thing I’ve heard by far.

Okay gothic-punk album. 2/5

Regular

All in all this album was o.k. I can see how it pioneered certain indie esthetics down the road. However, in the grand scheme of things, it seems like this will migrate off of this list as many of the tracks are underwhelming or forgettable. 2/5

80s Rock similar to Blondie/Pat Benetar. Not my favorite style.

⭐️⭐️very Florence & the Machine with a goth vibe. It was ok

Not a fan of punk!

The music sounded good for what it was, this type of music just isn't for me.

Okay punk rock

Guitar music very representative of the 80's in what I at the time called "college music". This album is not for me though.

Unique, but not my style.

Was excited to see this one pop up but didn’t think very much of it. Nothing special and this exact thing has been done better by others.

sad xmas :(

One of the best Beatles albums.

Echoey punk, not too harsh

This band goes hard.

It's pretty much exactly as you'd expect and didn't do much for me. I'd maybe buy them a tuner and tell them to knock off the deliberately slightly out of tune nonsense.

Meh. Favorite track: Fireworks

So much MEH. Btw yesterday I was confused and reviewed the album from the day before again. The punk one was ok. I wasn't quite in a punk mood

Started off well, but just got repetitive.

Sucking on dat Juju 4/10

They have some high-energy tunes that I liked, but their range is very limited. After a while, it all started to sound the same.

Wasn't my thing.

Post-punk, goth rock from the 80's. Nothing particularly attractive, same monotonous style throughout the entire album.

Not bad, not really my vibe tho

I can't take this much Siouxsie in one sitting. It's too discordant.

It was fine. Nothing stuck with me, don't need to return to this.

Boring. Not bad, the sound is solid, but the Israeli Witches did it better.
