Coole Scheibe
Love these dudes and almost everything they do. But this one is definitely a classic
Enjoyed this! Appreciated the country jazz and rock vibes
Love the refreshing rock-y and jazz-y vibes on the rap / hip-hop here.
Very cool album, love it.
Love these guys, legends.
Love the first song
I didn't expected it to be this good, but it is
What can I say... 90's hip-hop is my jam.
Surprisingly mellow! Kinda bluesy.
I said, Baby, baby, baby, this album has mucho grande style. I dig the vibe that runs through this album. I own this, and at various times, I can't get enough of it. They have a distinctive style. Jazz, hip hop, rap, rock, driving rhythms, story telling. I find the songs infective and many are frequently triggered in my head with certain stimuli from the environment. If someone says they were "running around", my brain adds in the beat and the lyrics, "robbin' banks all wacked..." Surprised to see this on the list, and thrilled. Especially as it followed the painful evermore.
I really loved the sound and the flows on this album, just amazing.
This is great!
Loved this
Awesome crossover jazz, hiphop, funk
This one was a real horizon-widener when I first heard it back in 1996. Laid back and chill, but with some of the hardest shredding I'd ever heard. It's just so classy, man. It's pure, distilled, Noo Yoik Siddy.
Great
Genuinely surprised at how fucking cool this album is, as I paid no attention to it back in the 90's. Such a killer blend of genres, and the beats and production on it are soooo good.
top tier album
I am OBSESSED. This is so fun and funky. Reminds me a lot of an earlier version of gangstagrass, complete with all the best parts of the 90s. I can't stop dancing! Standouts include The Fun Lovin' Criminal, Bombin' The L, and I Can't Get With That.
Oh shit this is rap n roll. Can't say I expected that. This was a surprise to me on basically all fronts. Cool samples, cool guitar, cool hooks. It's funny how the albums I like the most I have the least amount to say. As far as I'm concerned it does everything correctly when it comes to my taste. I will definitely be listening again and probably more from these dudes. 5
I loved this. To me this album was a lot more interesting then most hiphop albums because of the more interesting use of instrument and the cross over with clear influences from different genres. Very cool
Fun Gloving
My only regret was that I didn’t get this album on a Friday.
ЧУНГАЧАНГА
FLC gigs are the best. Usually small and intimate, Huey is a great host. Loved this since I heard the first single. Aged well. Perfect blend of chill and aggression. Still loving it today. Easy 5 stars.
sonzao nask
Brilliant. Smooth rapping with great guitars.
well this was well more massive than i remember it being. My memories of it at the time are scooby snacks being flogged so hard it was unlistenable and it generally being pseudo cool nonsense. don't really know if any of that has changed but i read how they came to fame by filling in for acts that didn't turn up in a club they worked in. could be a nice cover story but it makes it sound a bit more of a piss about, which fits the music better than some uber cool new york hipster taking themselves far too seriously trying to be cool. gonna go big on this.
I liked the look of the cover and 90s hip-hop/rap is up my alley. It was a treat!
Never heard of 'em before but this was a fun groove with many surprises.
This sure didn’t look like it was gonna be my jam, but it sure is great! I love these guys! Lots of serious themes - some moving songs - but they seem to be having fun (as advertised). Great rhymes. I love the slow jams as much as the fast and fun songs. And remaking “We Have All The Time in the World”?! Very classy. Some great guitar work that really added to it all. Really great album!
Похоже на Gorillaz. Запоминающиеся мотивы, речетативы совмещенные с красивыми мелодиями. Биты качают. Тембры приятные
Something new to me enjoyed it
Loved this album.
I had never heard of these guys before. This music made me move! I really liked this disc. I listened to the Expanded Version, which has many versions of several of their songs. It's a great showing of their creativity and command of different styles of music and recording.
I like it too much to be objective.
Fantastic chilled album which will be played again
perfect
Chill beats, chill bars, so many genres used perfectly
Very good
So good
Really-really good songs
Funky, upbeat and chillin.
Very cool. Great fusion of hiphop, blues and rock. The lead singles still sound awesome but some of the other tracks let it down a little, the chorus’s get a bit formulaic.
I had never heard of this band and they gave off distinctly 90s vibes and I was here for it
This holds up as well as I hoped it would. I'd say 80% really solid, with one or two duffers mainly near the end (Bear Hub, Methadonia). But Crime and Punishment is an absolute banger, so props up the album just as it's fading a bit. Will be continuing to blow the Colombian dust off this one and taking it for a spin round the block for years to come.
Honestly, I didn't think I was going to like this album - but it was fun as hell. Great beats, great lyrical flow, little bit of Pulp Fiction sampling. Would have scooby-snacks with them.
Det her va gøy! Æ vet ikke ka æ hadde forventa, men æ likte det veldig godt.
fun record, groove friendly beats - Huey Morgan is one of the FLCs and has been a DJ on BBC 6music (AWESOME and still real radio station in London) for yeaaaaaars. They had - for me at least - significant importance and I dig their musical contributions - sounds a bit like the 90s/dated, but still very good and a very enjoyable listen
I loved this. A lot like chocolates. Every one caught me a bit by surprise. I expected one milk chocolate flavor throughout but was instantly biting on a flavorful dark chocolate that exploded with spice.
A more 90s album i could not muster - the whole of the 90s. Basically take the standard bearers - Nevermind, Ready 2 Die, Downward Spiral, Weezer, The Chronic, Portishead, Low End Theory, Daft Punk - throw em in a blender, pulse - and voila - instant good time. And this album is a damn good time. Dated in the best way.
A surprising four.
Really liked this, has a vibe all its own
3.54 for Smooth Lovin' Criminals - Come Find Yourself. I found the blues grooves and guitar work was impressive. The hip hop beats and samples were top notch. Reminds me a lot of G. Love and Special Sauce with some Sublime thrown in for the side dishes. Well produced and it's definitely listening to more than once. Standouts: Scooby Snacks Passive/Aggressive Smoke 'Em
Haven’t heard this in a minute. Still fun & loviń
Vraiment très cool j'ai adoré la vibe
I was dreading the appearance of what I thought was the first “rap” album on this eclectic journey, but the music was of sufficient quality to justify calling it “rap and roll”. I really liked it, despite my negative preconceptions. Nice guitar work on “I Can’t Get With That”.
Wow - didn't expect this album to show up on this list. I'm not going to be super objective with this one. Picked it up on a whim at a college radio cd sale. Didn't expect much then, but the whole album was worth listening to from the first spin. The rapping isn't up to Rakim or Q-Tip standards, but it fits in well with the album. So many hooks and snippets that have gotten stuck in my head over the years. Great album, worth a few spins if you're not initially hooked. Give it a shot, huh? Way better than a lot off other little known artists on this list.
This was a crazy surprise for many reasons: Before I listened to this album for this generator, I put on my headphones to go for a walk and the last song my phone played was Disco 2000 from Pulp. I listened to the song before I put this album on. For one of the strangest musical coincidences in my life, the first song of this album mentions Disco 2000 from Pulp. I did a double take when I heard the lyric and had to double check what I heard. No idea why the song was mentioned (this came out a year later from that song) and I was in shock how b2b songs mentioned "Disco 2000." Anyways, this album was a very nice combination of rock and rap for the best era of rap there is: the 1990s. I enjoyed the lyrics and the references for once and had a great time listening. The We Have All the Time in the World cover was another shock that I didn't expect to hear on this. As a big 007 film fan, I love that song and it was nice, but weird to hear a cover of that on a rap album. The people in this group also have an interesting backstory and how one ended up as a DJ in the UK. Cool times!
A lot of fun. I need to listen again to see if there’s a story line
Somewhere between a 3 and a 4, but the sun is shining today and it just seemed to work.
Are they cool? Yeah, they're cool.
Actually loved the beats even though I thought it would be cringe
I rather enjoyed this. I should rewatch Pulp Fiction at some point.

This one surprised me
Wasn’t sure what to expect going into this, but I really enjoyed every song. Had only been familiar with three or four tracks. Felt really cohesive. Definitely coming back to this, really good.
Solid effort here, some great songs in a very good album
Great beats, makes me want to move/dance
I liked this way more than I expected. I forgot I knew some of these songs and it instantly transported me back to college. What really surprised me though was some great musicianship. Not sure if those were samples or backing tracks or if the band actually played the instruments too but there were some nice passages in there.
This is different! I knew Scooby Snacks (from a triple J hottest 100 CD) but never thought to listen to more. I'm liking it a lot - got the smooth groove, also rocks out well when it wants to (eg Bombin' the L). Lyrically it's a lot of gangsta rap, but over this soundtrack I'm not minding it :-) I really like the mix of samples and live playing, strong funk feel, energetic but not too pushy. Some tracks are a little weaker, so the whole album isn't unalloyed pleasure, I'll say it's Good, 7/10.
I feel I liked this album more and less over the years. I have it on vinyl, play it every now and then, and liked it quite a lot on a sunny day in the garden
I bet the only people that liked this were people that were in college in 96.
I don't know what its called but I love this genre of rap, hip-hop, rock. The album was a fun listen through with some clear highlights. Definitely some songs I added to playlists and something I would come back to in the future.
How have I missed this?! Send like this would've been right in my wheelhouse. Super fun and funky mud 90s stoner rock, in the G Love or UDS vein. Great stuff.
I thought this intersection between rock/country and hip hop was quite fun. One of the first?
8/10
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. Hip-hop is not normally my genre, but this album was fun with a bunch of really great beats. The title track and "Scooby Snacks" we're particular favorites.
This album is a vibe, I really enjoyed it. Bit of a whiplash with the genre changes that I think could’ve been done better but that’s about the only thing I can say
Haters gonna hate, but, personally, I’m loving the fun of the fun lovin’ criminals. Why not put rap in places it shouldn’t be, over any track you can possibly find? Respect.
I don’t know Fun Loving Criminals, but the second the first song started it immediately reminded me of Scooby Snacks, which sure enough is the fourth track on the album. Points for having a consistent sound. I don’t know what else to expect from this band, but if it’s similar to that track I should be in for a good time. • I like the assortment of sounds on the first song. I feel like you don’t hear a lot of acoustic guitar in hip hop and it’s a really fun shake up, as well as the harmonica. • Passive/Aggressive is really cool, I love this chorus. The way the distorted guitar swells in at the start is awesome. • The Grave and the Constant isn’t gripping me like the first two tracks did, but it’s still a fine song. The horns have been present on each of the songs so far, and I feel like they’re really well used. • And Scooby Snacks. What an interesting song. It’s built around the Tarantino samples that are spread throughout the song and they give the song such a distinctive flavour. My dad played this song all the time when I was a kid (so it’s also a bit of a nostalgia hit), and for all I knew it could’ve been a bonus track on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. • Smoke ‘Em’s starts off sounding a bit darker than the previous songs, but it lightens up about halfway through. The hook is catchy, if a bit repetitive, and the rapping during the verses reminds me a bit of Quan Yeomans from Regurgitator. The unison line that comes in around 4:15 sounds exactly like The White Stripes’ “Fell In Love With a Girl” • The Free Bird sample in Bombin’ The L was cool, I liked when the vocalist doubled the line with the sample • We Have All the Time in the World caught me by surprise, it’s so starkly different to the rest of the album • Bear Hug brings the album back to the higher energy the first couple of songs had, with some really cool drums and slide guitar as the main instrumentation • Crime and Punishment is a cool song, I like the lead synth sound • Methadonia is a nice chill song to close out the album. As with the rest of the album, the instrumental is really nice here, some of it reminds me a bit of The Smashing Pumpkins. I love the whammy on the guitar. I really enjoyed this album, it’s a pretty different sound to a lot of the other albums I’ve heard on this list and I like it a lot. Rap with live instruments is always going to be a win for me, especially rap rock. The way those two genres meld just works. I really loved how this album used its samples (most overly in Scooby Snacks, but they’re spread across the whole thing), they never really feel out of place. This was an easy four stars. Favourite song: Passive/Aggressive
This was fun. Quite enjoyable all the way through.
This was just so much fun and filled with fucking around and whimsy. The blending of the genres was very well done and it didn't just stick to one thing. Most songs had fun little story lines and the whole album did not take itself too seriously. Loved it.
4/5 Fuck all y'all in the reviews for misleading me on this gem of an album. This was so much fun and whimsical, and I had a great time listening. I loooved the mixing of genres and the overall playfulness of this album. Good stuff.
There aren't many debuts that come at you with a flick knife and demand your wallet, but this is one such, and to be honest, you weren't all that attached to that wallet anyway...
This is fun. I like this.
Why do I like this so much? What is happening?
Still fun.
Excellent fun-loved it
Lovin’ the fun
It's been great to come back to this album. Love the endless variety of music styles from bluegrass through easy jazz to heavy rock. All while Huey delivers his spliffed-out rap (legal edit: possibly) over the top. The Smoke on the Water/Freebird quoting Bombin' the L is an absolute standout. A fabulous, foot-tapping, 4*
groove: ja. bläser: ja. gesang: eigentlich nein. ein genreübergreifendes album mit einflüssen aus jazz, blues, rock und funk.
Ganz nice dieser Rap'n' Rock
A little repetitive after a while, but the fun seems real.
Not my usual style, but I had a blast listening
I liked this one
Never listened to this before. Only heard Scoobie Snacks. Liked pretty much the whole thing. Fun. 4
I tend not to enjoy hiphop very much but this was a really fun take on the genre. Liked the different feels of each track, made the playthrough go much faster
This was great. I had heard scooby snacks obviously, but not anything else. A lot of it actually reminded me in some way of early chili peppers. 2/13
I enjoyed this quite a bit. Nod to Freebird in “Bombin’ the L” was much appreciated. And is that the beginning of the famous Deep Purple riff in there too? The guitar in “I Can’t Get With That” is killer. Definitely mixing genres on some tracks. Worth some additional listening time!
Unique
Uh das klingt hot. 4
as hiphop as it gets with me
Brilliant
Seriously thought this wouldn't have aged well, but it was surprisingly enjoyable, a good mix a jazz-rap and rocky beats, would seek a physical copy ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Haven't heard this for ages and it sounds great
perfect hangout record — the kind you throw on without announcing it and everyone just vibes. And that sax riff on “Scooby Snacks” is absolute badass.
Really fun
It IS fun! I quite enjoyed this.
classic 90s rap, v fun how much they play with genre
This was a lot of fun. I already knew the song "Scooby Snacks." This was great. Not anything crazy, but a lot of fun! Actual rating...3.5 Liked Songs: "The Fun Lovin' Criminal" , "Passive / Aggressive" , "The Grave and the Constant" , "Scooby Snacks" , "I Can't Get with That" , "King of New York" , "Bear Hug" , "Come Find Yourself" , "Methadonia"
Wow, I never did hear anything other than the hit single Scooby Snacks. Admittedly, I had just dismissed it as a fun, quirky one-off song. This album is great. Slick grooves, a few heavier riffs here and there. Passive/Aggressive is a great track in that heavier vein. Illuminating lyrical content. I love the ethos in I Can't Get with That and Come Find Yourself. Where has this been since my 90s life?
funky
groovy fun!
“OK, so let's, um, talk about your opening remarks. Do you want me to write you a rap? I'll write you a rap. No, you know what? You'll never be able to pull it off. You're too white. How about a show tune or something?” - Leslie Knope
Under appreciated. Smooth and something different
Good fun album, a few great tracks, all listenable
This has dated better than expected. Cool fusion of genres.
wow they really do love fun
unexpectedly good, bit of digable planets kind of vibe, groovy and mellow tracks as well as fun sampling - defo a banger for me
I wasn't expecting much from the guys that wrote Scoobie Snacks, but this was pretty decent!
This was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t realize that Scooby snacks was fun, loving criminals.
This was surprisingly amazing. Would add to my collection
Love this band and album , seen live in Nottingham quality and Huey Morgan is a legend
Fun album with good beats and melodies. 3.5/5.0: Very Good
Fun, nostalgic though I hadn't listened to it
enjoying this one a lot. liked the fast ones more then the slow ones. would listen to again. i like this genre. 4 stars maybe?
4.0 - Very Good
Ooh I didn't know some of these songs were from this band and album but knew them! :) Good music, fun :)
Was apprehensive but it grew on me, better than most of the hip-hop I've encountered through the list. 3.5/5. Raising to 4.
Feels like this was a common style in the 90's; rap-blues-jazz rock, with some doing it better than others. This was an example of one of the good ones. Fun Lovin' tracks: CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, PASSIVE/AGRESSIVE. and the perpetually catchy SCOOBY SNACKS
Very cool and vibey
Fun Lovin’ Criminals – *Come Find Yourself* (1996) In-depth review --- ### 1. Lyrics – pulp-fiction street poetry - **Narrative voice**: Huey Morgan spins semi-fictional “B-movie” crime tales set in pre-gentrification NYC—stick-up kids, Korean bodegas, John Gotti, dime-bag philosophy. - **Tone**: self-mythologising but tongue-in-cheek; the band know they’re play-acting and invite you to smirk along (“Stick ’em up, punks, it’s the Fun Lovin’ Criminal”). - **Pop-culture glue**: Tarantino dialogue snippets, Scooby-Doo samples, James Bond strings—lyrics and samples form one long film-nerd inside joke. - **Weak spots**: when the joke wears thin you’re left with white-dude stoner braggadocio that can sound touristy rather than lived-in (“I’m the king of New York / Free John Gotti!”) . --- ### 2. Music – hip-hop rhythm section meets dive-bar cover band - **Core formula**: live drums & bass lock into laid-back break-beat grooves, Fat Steve’s Hammond organ adds noir-jazz colour, while Morgan’s blues-rock guitar drops in for hooks rather than solos. - **Genre hop-scotch**: – “The Fun Lovin’ Criminal” – slide-guitar country-funk. – “Bombin’ the L” – wah-wah cop-show psychedelia. – “Scooby Snacks” – crunchy power-chorus pop-punk. – “We Have All the Time in the World” – lounge-jazz croon over trip-hop break. - **Musicianship**: tight but un-showy; the groove is the star. Because everything is played rather than looped, the record feels warmer than most 90s sample-based rap, anticipating the live-band neo-soul/rap hybrid that The Roots would soon perfect . --- ### 3. Production – 1996 bedroom blockbuster - **Engineered/mixed by the band** in a borrowed EMI studio at 3 a.m.; budget so low they reportedly paid Tarantino most of the first year’s royalties for the film-dialogue samples. - **Sound palette**: Akai S950 12-bit crunch on snares, Fender Rhodes through cheap guitar amps, plenty of spring-reverb—gives the album its “yellow-cab dashboard” grunge. - **Dynamic range**: DR10 on CD, allowing the kick/ bass pocket to breathe; loud sections clip intentionally to create tape-style saturation. - **Result**: a demo that accidentally sounded like a finished movie soundtrack—scruffy yet cinematic. --- ### 4. Themes – three-card-monte with American iconography - **Urban escapism**: songs treat NYC as an adult playground where petty crime is just another ride. - **Post-Giuliani anxiety**: recorded just before zero-tolerance policing; the lyrics romanticise the old dirty city that was already disappearing. - **Consumption vs. rebellion**: characters rob banks, smoke weed, watch Kubrick films—crime as consumer lifestyle. - **Emotional core**: beneath the swagger is a nostalgic ache for lost cool (“I’m in love with the 70s, baby”), best exposed on the surprisingly tender “I’ll live till I die” hidden track. --- ### 5. Influence & Legacy - **UK cult phenomenon**: album went Top 10 in Britain, seeded the late-90s “big-beat” bar circuit (Stereo MCs, Bentley Rhythm Ace) and gave Britpop crowds a hip-hop act they could mosh to. - **Stylistic godfather**: the “rap + live band + cocktail jazz” blueprint can be heard in early Gorillaz, Gym Class Heroes, and the softer side of nu-rap-rock (Linkin Park’s *MTM* era). - **Sample clearance cautionary tale**: their legal headaches with Tarantino clips became a case study in music-business courses, accelerating the shift toward interpolation rather than direct film lifts. - **Critic reappraisal**: initially dismissed in the U.S. as Beastie-Boys-lite, the record is now cited by crate-diggers for its organic break-beats and is a 5-dollar-bin staple for producers looking for drum breaks that haven’t been Napster-destroyed . --- ### PROS ✅ **Genre-blend still feels fresh** – country slide over boom-bap drums shouldn’t work, but it does. ✅ **Cinematic narrative arc** – 55 minutes of smoke-hazed storytelling that begs for a midnight drive. ✅ **Live-band groove** – human swing that most 90s hip-hop loops lacked. ✅ **Sing-along hooks** – “Scooby Snacks”, “The Fun Lovin’ Criminal”, “King of New York” are sticky without being sugary. ✅ **Low-stakes charm** – the record never tries to be *important*, so it ages better than many “serious” rap-rock peers. --- ### CONS ❌ **Lyrically shallow** – once you decode the film references, there’s little substance; the joke wears thin around track 10. ❌ **Vocal limitations** – Huey’s half-spoken baritone is cool for two songs, monochrome for fifteen. ❌ **Patchy second half** – filler like “Bicycle Song” and “Ain’t That a Bitch” dilute the momentum. ❌ **White-boy tourism** – the faux-gangster posturing can feel appropriative, especially in 2025 ears. ❌ **One-vibe album** – tempo and key stay so relaxed that everything blurs unless you’re actively listening. --- ### Verdict *Come Find Yourself* is a snapshot of mid-90s NYC seen through the lens of film-geek hustlers who’d rather quote *Pulp Fiction* than pack a Glock. The musicianship and sample-heavy production create a smoky, infectious vibe that still sounds great on a cheap bar system, but the lyrical shallowness and shtick-driven delivery keep it just short of classic status. Think of it as the perfect soundtrack to a 2 a.m. diner run: fun, flavourful, and best enjoyed before the coffee gets cold. not essential, yet irresistibly re-playable if you met it at the right age.
Been listening to this on repeat since getting it here and have to say I love it! Being a fan of Scooby Snacks and that whole era of music, I’m surprised I never listened to this album. I would have been all over it! Listen again: yes Purchase for my collection: maybe (I’ll get it on CD if I find it thrifting) Favourite Song:
Fun and Chill
Nothing revolutionary, but it was fun! This is the album people always try to say Licensed to Ill is, honestly.
im so rap starved from the lack of rap on this list I feel like these pop more
A most relaxed record, clearly weed induced.
Way better than I expected when the first song started. Great variety of beats and bpm rates, loved the funk and blues in some songs, and the 90s flavour. 4/5.
There's something I find inherently cringey about "rap rock", but I find it really hard to fault the music. I have to fight against my prejudices which tells me that I can't score this album higher than a 3, but I think that it's actually quite easy to listen to and a lot of the songs are enjoyable.
Scooby snacks
Love this album been on and off rotation since the minidic days. It's chilled, mellow but uplifting.
Only song I knew going into this was “Scooby Snacks,” and it had been ages since I heard it. It’s still a banger, and there are some other really great songs on here too. “Bombin’ the L,” “I Can’t Get With That,” and “We Have All The Time In The World” are also fantastic songs. The use of samples here was really good too. I appreciated that they took risks with some of the songs. A few “softer” ones which stood out in a good way. This was a pleasant surprise for me.
90s hip hop. Some really cool tunes. Fun beats.
i love the blend of instruments, and the uniqueness to the beat a classic
Sure it's silly, but come on
This album is just a good time. It's not the best hip hop album, but it's certainly not bad. It's fun. I feel like the reviewers here generally disfavor unserious music. Things that are just fun. Influence 2. Hits 3. Quality 4. Intangables 4. I'm here for fun 4.
hell yeah bruthurrrr
Very much enjoyed. Rap with a tonne of musicality. Brilliant.
So I paid to the patreon and got a user submission early. I chose a That Handsome Devil record. A whole lot of people compared that album to these guys. It had been a while since I had listened to Fun Lovin' Criminals, so I had no idea where they were coming from. After this listen refreshed my memory, it surprised me how similiar the respective vocalists sound. Same cadence and tendency to have the voice lower, though Huey's is not as deep as Godforbid's. Therefore, I fairly enjoyed this album. Some fun songs and when they get all cool in their sound it always sounds great. Sometimes this album seems a little corny to me and it a little longer than neccessary. But still fun listen
Great listening back at this need find my cd of it
great album with a great groove
4/5
didn't know them and didn't expect this, what a surprise it was so good!
Listened Before? N Really cool and smooth 90's rap/rock album. Laid back and sexy. Loved it. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: The Fun Lovin' Criminal
really fun to listen to, such a 90s record, including the references to John Gotti.
Liked it.
really funky groove, mi se pare un album super cozy layback, atmosfera frumoasa, un pai si fifa 10/10
**** Knew the band by name, but not by their music. This album is quite good. Even though it has kind of a rap-ish style (like Rap that is sung) I like it (don't like anything close to Rap normally).
fun stuff
Franchement très cool, j'aime bien les instrus, le flow etc.
Je me suis régalé. J'ai vu des critiques sur les paroles mais bon j'ai du mal à comprendre/écouter en général donc osef.
Great Songs: Passive / Aggressive, Smoke ‘Em, We Have All the Time in the World, Good Songs: The Fun Lovin’ Criminal, The Grave and the Constant, Scooby Snacks, Bombin’ the L, I Can’t Get with That, King of New York, Bear Hug, Come Find Yourself, Crime and Punishment, Methadonia Mid Songs: Bad Songs:
Very good, wouldn't listen to it normally, found it a very chill album
3.5
Fun
> The Beatles Never heard of these guys before. This was great.
Back 30 or so years ago I heard this and it was quite catchy. It hit that 90s teenager sweet spot of a rock-y blues-y rap crossover, schmoove vibes and a hint of Quentin Tarantino bubbling underneath. Their follow up album would be leagues better, but this still hit for me.
# Playlist Track - The Fun Loving Criminal # Notes - A strangely fun and absolutely silly album. - This really seems to have been all thought all for edgy confused teenagers? - I'll confess to the super confused. Bad hip hop, with decent instrumentals and a bunchy of catchy parts. - I'd love to hate it, but I honestly think it's so silly it is fun.
Very 90s, very groovy. Does get old eventually though.
Could not at all tell what genre this was based on that first song
Come Find Yourself is one of those ’90s records that manages to sound relaxed, dangerous, and irresistibly cool all at once. Fun Lovin’ Criminals blend hip-hop grooves, funky basslines, western-style guitars and deadpan humour into an album that feels like an ironic gangster movie in audio form. Classics like “Scooby Snacks” and “King of New York” still hold up perfectly, they’re tightly produced, stylish, and capture that “Tarantino meets New York lounge” vibe just as strongly today as back then. Huey Morgan’s half-sung, half-spoken delivery adds a charm that never becomes kitschy, just effortlessly laid-back. It may not be the deepest or most varied album in the world, but it nails its niche: a soundtrack to youth, city life, swagger, and a bit of harmless criminal fantasy. It’s a record that feels like returning to something familiar and warm. 4/5
Daneben finden sich Stücke wie „The Fun Lovin’ Criminal“, „King of New York“ oder „We Have All the Time in the World“, die den urbanen Erzählstil der Gruppe prägen. Das Album verbindet lässige Grooves mit erzählerischen Texten, die das Großstadtleben New Yorks ironisch spiegeln. Der Sound ist abwechslungsreich und zugleich markant, was Come Find Yourself schnell einen festen Platz in den 1990er-Jahren sicherte. Insgesamt ein Debüt, das originell wirkt und bis heute seine Eigenständigkeit bewahrt.
I enjoyed but didn’t adore — expected funkier grooves and I continue to react badly to even hints of misogyny.
I strongly suspect that this band have been labelled as one that you're not supposed to like if you're a 'proper' muso - in a similar vein to a band like Coldplay - and the reviews are being a bit over-zealous as a result. I would have assumed ahead of time that this album would contain the big smash-hit single, and then a lot of uninspiring filler, but it's way more musical than I thought it would be. There's some great melodic guitar in here, some funk grooves, chill backdrops, harmonica, brass... I think it's really interesting musically. I think this is really good. Forget the haters. And it IS fun.
If someone asked me what the 90s sounded like, this album would be a strong answer. It hooked me right away with that unexpected country-meets-rap combo, and from there it just kept mixing things up. You get flashes of country, rock, blues, and even some jazz sprinkled in across the record. The variety makes it a really fun listen, especially coming from a band I had never heard of before. It captures that offbeat 90s spirit where genres got blended without apology, and it actually works.
Cool
Never really sat down to listen to them before, shame it took me so long. Good shit
I liked the album. Healthy mis of hip-hop and instrumental music, not simple drum-machine beats. Cannot judge lyrics that much. I liked the genre variability of the songs - some of them are classic funk, some of them - hip-hop, some are pop soapy stuff and some tracks are pretty heavy. I did not expect the album to be that good. Most remebered track - Smoke 'Em. Sounds really noire due to contrabass.
Surprisingly mellow
Damn. I got a rap/rock album from NERD yesterday and not only did I hate it, it made me weary of the rap/rock genre as a whole. Come Find Yourself made up for that in a major way. An interesting blend of hip-hop, jazz, rock, ska - I found myself excited for what was next. The album was extremely well sequenced, alternating track styles to keep it entertaining (We Have All the Time in the World into Bear Hug being the most striking) and ending with the excellent closer Methadonia. The biggest blemish on the album is the song Scooby Snacks, which totally breaks the vibe with tacky Pulp Fiction Snippets and a cheesy popraprock chorus. All around an impressive listen. 4/5
Come Find Yourself is a really darn good hip-hop album. I always really love it when hip-hop albums combine their sound with other genres with this particular album combining it with funk rock music. I find that the elements from both genres were used very well. The hip-hop stuff was where the rapping was really fun which makes this band really earn their name and the lyrics and samples were pretty solid too. The funk rock was where the music was also incredibly fun to listen to as it could be so groovy and still fit each song to a T. I do feel that there are some songs here which are rather forgettable which does cause this album to get docked a star but all in all, this is a great album. Best Song: Bombin' the L Worst Song: I Can't Get with That
Better than I expected. Fun!
Fun and chill
....
I felt as if this was a solid debut album from a band I’d never listened to or heard of before. The blend of rap and rock made for an enjoyable and fun listening experience. I would definitely check this album out again!
Loved this album.
4/5 really liked this rap album
This was a really fun album. I had never heard of this band, and am really shocked since their song is so great. Their pop/ rock/ rap mix doesn't seem good on paper, but they nail it in this album. Each song is from a similar place, but presented differently (I assume, in part, by the different members) and that keeps the album fresh by moving from bouncy jazz inspired songs, to the slower lovey tunes, then to something deep with social commentary. Favorite songs: The Fun Lovin' Criminal Smoke 'em King of New York Crime and Punishment
Fine
8/10 silly cheesy fun, a bit dated but still a good time
Really fun, reminiscent of beastie boys but more lowkey. Great beats and production.
really innovative for rap. the vocals were definitely giving hip-hop but the instrumentals drew from a bunch of different genres outside of rap. really cool mix of songs. i liked the scooby snacks reference. probably a 4/5.
Actually a decent rap album with fun music and not too heavy on the rap aspect. Good rhythms without being overly vulgar or ridiculous. 4/5
point2.
This was a really pleasant listen. More of a rock record with rapping. Tight ensemble playing that serve the songs. Great melodies and pacing. Smart use of samples
Solid jam.
Yeah this was fun
I like it. The lyrics are serviceable, but the instruments are pretty good. A lot of fun to listen to and worth listening to.
Great! Nice groove. Liked the harmonicas.
this project has taught me 2 things: (1) there are a ton of mostly-forgotten britpop and britpop-adjacent bands with one or two semi-classic albums (2) the beastie boys inspired a ton of white guys to do genre mashy sample-heavy quirky silly hip hop stuff. as far as those go, these guys aint beck, and they certainly aint the beastie boys, but id be much happier to revisit this than like, g love and special sauce. the genuine roughness and grittiness in the vocals is kinda unique but maybe leans a bit too far towards sorta uncomfortable pastiche to me, i prefer the more overtly quirky delivery of similar acts. but the actual hooks and beatwork are actually v steadily fun throughout...the bangers are cool, but the overtly (and sometimes surprising) euphoric moments are my favorites, definitely illustrative of the great moments that can arrive from bringing together well-chosen samples. the whole record is a surprisingly good illustration of that! and the eclectic genre interests feel surprisingly well developed beyond pure novelty, prob the closest they get to beck's best qualities. a weird inclusion but not an unwelcome one
This was fun. Overall great instrumentals, but the vocal work felt like it stayed in the backseat too much. 'Methadonia' was my fave.
Confounding my expectations, this album holds up surprisingly well, if anything getting better with age. It feels like there's a lot of sampling because the hooks feel so authentic - like in 'The Grave and the Constant'. A feel that could come from the rolling grooves of Curtis Mayfield or the stringed soul-funk of Isaac Hayes. And yet there's rarely sampling. Then you have the tentpole tracks, the festival crowd pleasers if Scooby Snacks, and the marvelous Fun Lovin',' Criminal. I listened to 'Methadonia' as I flew in at sunset into the UK and it was rather beautiful. When I checked the map I was over Birmingham. Amazing how good things can seem from a distance.
I remember getting this CD as a teenager because of the Scooby Snacks song. There are some other incredible songs on this album, and it could be bias because of nostalgia but this is a most excellent album.
Hadn't heard of this group before, but I had a great time listening to this! Starts of with the title track, a total banger. Good mix of rap and country (strange bedfellows, but it works). Passive/Aggressive has some really good rap. The Grave And The Constant was nice and chill. Bombin' The L has some good rock music along with the rap. I Can't Get With That is smooth and chill, as is We Have All The Time In The World. Come Find Yourself has some fun music. Methadonia was really smooth, with a killer harmonica sound. The rest of the songs were solid, some good rap and hip hop. Best song: Fun Lovin' Criminals
Was my first time listening to it and thought it was really good and slapped hard
Groovy man. I love this album. When I first heard it, it was a revelation, but they're just a great band. A wide mixture of styles, but they all seem to gel effortlessly.
I like this album, decently chill and fun
I enjoyed this album, pretty chilled overall but with some variety, I'll definitely come back to a couple of songs on the album.
Enjoyable. They appear to want to find 'the one' and ride it in a more mellow sort of Funk and do it well.
Never heard of these guys before and I feel like a loser for that--they mix it up easily: a little Beastie Boys in some of their cleverer lyrics, a little Tom Waits in some of the tone, and even some shoe gazing stuff in "We Have All the Time in the World." Nice!
Can I give it a five? I might you know. But I think not quite. Let's deal with the facts as they pertain to my life. FLC were the first band I ever saw live; it was at the Manchester Apollo, and my ticket included coach travel from Lancaster and back again. That was in 1998, and marked a watershed moment for me, when live music became, without being over the top, one of the best things that would exist in the rest of my life. Whenever I go to a gig now, there's always a tiny remnant of the buzz that I got walking into that smoke-filled room to see Huey Morgan and the gang (supported by an Elvis impersonator, something I naively assumed was par for the course for all gigs). This album is the bedrock of that set and that time, and it has many, many highlights. The opening bars of the album are so life-affirming, Scooby Snacks is the best kind of fun song, there are serious bits, King Of New York is great, and the title track is excellent. It's got slightly too much self-conscious cool about it, I guess, and is a tiny bit immature in places, but it's still absolutely tremendous.
Surprisingly enjoyable. This was completely new to me... don't think I've ever heard of this group and I found myself grooving throughout the listen. And I would have never thought I would enjoy a song about John Gotti.
I am motivated to begin a life of crime. genuinely fun, if not the deepest
I quite enjoyed this album. It sounds very 90s in a good way and has aged really well. I will listen to it again even though I don't see myself as a rap/hip hop person.
Thoughts before listening: I remember these guys. Kind of jazzy, funky take on hip hop I believe. This is not the type of album I would have thought would show up on this list. I'm sure I will recognize a few songs (did they do "Scooby Snacks"?), but this will be a first listen for me. Review: Funky alt rock with rapping. This might be the most 90s album of all time. In general theres a cool, laid back vibe to this album, but its probably not one of the 1,001 best albums ever. I've added a few songs to my playlist though. 3-stars
This record gets a lot of stick. But it has feel, it has soul, it's fun. A fun loving criminal.
At the outset, I quite liked this album, despite the tedious rap vocal delivery. But by the end of the album most tracks were sounding pretty much the same. After a second play, the album is sort of growing on me. After a third play I liked it enough to favoutite it on my streaming account.
A supremely interesting album by a group I never heard of - exactly the reason I started this list in the first place. This one is unlike any rap album I've heard before. The beats have elements of jazz and even southern rock. Sometimes they don't even rap at all, I actually really enjoyed the slowed down songs. Favorites: The Grave and the Constant, We Have All the Time in the World, I Can't Get With That
Don't ever reach a point in your life where you're too much of a snob to admit that Fun Lovin' Criminals were just a decent three-piece having a good laugh. Were they the first or best to ever put rock and rap together on a record? Certainly not. But Come Find Yourself is very listenable from start to finish, it's pretty distinctive and like it or not, it holds up against anything else that attempted this sort of thing at the time.
I liked this. Only knew the hits before but it's an album of laid back rap vocals against funky and bluesy backing music with a few guitar solos and more rocking moments. Very chill
First time listening all the way through. Weirdly once got this album accidentally instead of a Funkmaster Flex album after a mix up placing the CDs by the shop assistant. Didn't listen to it then, but this is much better than Funkmaster Flex. Scooby Snacks and Fun Lovin Criminal are the obvious bangers in here but there is a lot of other good quality with a nice sprinkling of brass instruments throughout. Huey Morgan's radio show on a Saturday on 6 music also shows me he knows his stuff and is super eclectic. £1 on music magpie so going to buy!
I liked this a lot. I remember thinking that scoobie snacks song was cool way back in the day. They used to play it on mtv all the time. The guys used the money they made from the album to buy a struggling sanitation company which is pretty gangster actually.
A rap album from the 90s that doesn't feel dark and depressive for once, nice! The whole album has a kind of playfulness to it with interesting samples, guitars etc, which I like. The metal guitar riffs perhaps doesn't work that well everywhere, but I appreciate the effort! First time I went over this it wasn't instant love (even though it stood out a bit compared to other rap albums), but I decided to skim through it again a bit before writing this review and now I actually appreciate it much more. Favourite songs included 'The Grave And The Constant', and 'I Can't Get With That'. Gives me feelings of wanting to drive around at summer sunset or something, very calming and groovey. Overall I grew to like this album over the course of hearing it, so giving it a 4!
I heard “Scooby Snacks” before and was familiar with these guys, but hadn’t heard the full album. Pleasantly surprised.
A cool version of the Red Hots
Fun and silly rap rock. Enjoyed this quite a lot and it’s something you don’t often hear.
Decent flow with actual music. What a great time.
This is the first album I've heard on this list to have given me a lot of ironic enjoyment. It's so bad and the lyrics are so cheesy that it becomes funny. They literally use a high pitched sample from Free Bird and play it off as serious. This album is a joke but a really funny joke which I look forward to laughing at in the future.
Love the beats, no so crazy about the 90s rap.
Really cool record! What an interesting blend of sounds.
Just on the description, I thought it would be a Beastie Boys ripoff, but it’s a lot more lowkey. I’ve been enjoying it, but it doesn’t seem much like essential listening to me. I’m going with a 4. This was a really good album that didn’t make waves the way I think it should have.
I always quite like Fun Lovin Criminals in the 90s, so I was quite surprised to see how much heat they were getting on this list. Ah well, my take is this is a pretty cool laid back album by a band that never seemed to take themselves too seriously
Good
Tolle Album. Klasse Musik.
I put off listening to this but then it turned out to be really good!! I'm not a big fan of rap and hip hop, but the heavy rock influence saved this for me. Probably wouldn't come back to it but it was a great album!
spotify has playlists that they think are similar to whatever album you’re looking at. one of the ones for this album was “Dive Bar Anthems” and tbh i see it. this is a generally good, inoffensive but unserious album that touches upon a bunch of genres in pretty cool ways. i’ve never actually been to a dive bar but i’d be happy if this was all that was playing
I have never heard of this before but I really liked it
Oh man, I'd totally forgotten about these guys. Definitely dated but still a really fun band. I don't think I'd ever heard more than a couple of their songs previous to this.
WOW, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this, right from the start. Just as many "keepers" as The Stones and The Stone Roses just before them - and the album isn't done yet.
My husband played this over and over again... It grows on you.
A lot of fun and while one or two got repetitive, the overall had good variety.
Wow...I now have a favorite rap album. Loved all of it.
Pretty cool mash up of alternative rock and rap actually.
Good fun. Too hip-hoppy to be punk rock, but doesn't take itself too serious either. I liked the hits and the general fun vibe.
Of course the standout tracks are still great! I like the hip-hop genre mixing throughout the album, taking much inspiration from mid-90's Tarantino movies.
Nostalgic bangers! 4.1
This is fun and a bit ridiculous and I feel like I like it more than I should. Want to give it a 3.5
really liked this!
Think about it too much and you might hate it but that was a really fun listen.
A good fun listen which I guess is their aim. Faves: The Fun Lovin' Criminal, Passive/Aggressive, Scooby Snacks.
Heh, this is kinda mid, but benefits from a bit of a nostalgia bump - pretty sure I owned a copy at one point, in fact! I remember "Scooby Snacks" had an official video without the Tarantino samples - just rewatched it, and enjoyed the "You ain't got nothin' on us, cop!" chair shake that replaces one of them. 😆 Despite there being a fair amount of cringe here, I still have a lot of affection for quite a few of the songs. Can't quite mark this a 5, but 4.5 maybe, the nostalgia is that strong. Fave tracks - "Scooby Snacks", obvs, but "The Fun Lovin' Criminal", "Smoke 'Em", "I Can't Get With That" (including the Schmoove version) and "Come Find Yourself" all made me happy...
Best way to describe it as a mix of lounge rap with a bit of New York attitude, it’s of it’s time but still a decent listen, some songs are just as good as they always were
They ran out of lyrical steam, but this was fun
Very post modern - I enjoyed picking up on all the references. But I did loose a bit of steam as it went on.
Man this holds up well. What a bunch of awesome grooves. And I wasn't expecting a Louis Armstrong James Bond cover. Good times this one.
Fun album, teeters on corniness before switching genres on you. I don't think I'll listen much more after this, but it's clear these guys have talent and had a blast making this.
I've heard the song Scooby Snacks so many times before, but somehow I've never heard of Fun Lovin Criminals, which is criminal and very non-fun loving. Honestly, album is quite nice, very approachable and easy to listen to, but I'm genuinely confused what is it doing on the list of greatest albums? Not really original, not really special, just a solid and very 90s record.
we all know Scooby Snacks but wow the rest of the album is pretty darn good. 90s meets funk meets rap. Digging it.
schöne raphoprock 90er mischung
Þetta kom hressilega á óvart. Ég þekkti Scooby snacks lagið þeirra og titillag hljómsveitarinnar svo kemur bara í ljós að þetta er svkna líka gott stöff. Ég setti hana eiginlefa strax aftur í gang. 4.5 stjörnur en ætla að setja niður í 4 því ég veit ekki enn hvort það er af því að þetta var ferskleikinn sem spilaði inn í hvað ég fílaði plötuna eða að þetta sé svona mikið gæðaefni.
Stylish and confident debut from the peak of the Tarantino era. Their fusion of jazz, hip-hop and rock is yet to bettered and is showcased on this record with an apparent effortlessness. Truly the kings of cool.
I guess if you were to look at this hypercritically, you’ve got a chap who can’t really sing and his ‘rapping’ ain’t great, the guitar riffs and drums really are very basic, and the sampling isn’t ground breaking. HOWEVER, it does have a tonne of swagger (that NY bands often seem to have more of - something in the water?), and the clue’s in the name of the band, this is just about vibe and fun. Yes it’s totally mid-90s sound, and the slow songs are a bit dull, but when it goes big it works and the tunes just make you smile and that I think is the point. (Not sure you’d admit that to anyone in person though!). It is a bit weird that they were really only big in the UK. What did we see, or the US weren’t being duped by? Firstly I don’t think we ever saw this as hip hop, more like lounge rock with a hip hop lilt. I’m gonna go with their general vibe suiting the early wave of Blair and Brit Pop and the world generally feeling a much more positive place than these days.
Rad so nostalgic, so good, love it
This is what I love about this series, finding something new to me that blows me away. Really cool hip hop with a genuine blues influence, almost a compliment to what A Tribe Called Quest was doing with rap. It’s not as tight as their imperial stuff, but I def want to go back. B
I thought they were a one hit wonder, this was better than I expected
Feels like the Beastie Boys moonlighting as Tarantino extras—greasy, stylish, and oddly endearing. I’ve always liked the Fun Lovings, just somehow never gave them the airtime they clearly deserved.
This album was a pleasant surprise. Probably just in my late 90's wheelhouse. Sounded like a poor man's Everlast. I would listen again.
Yi Ha! Stick them up Punk for the Fun Loving Criminals. Then Keep on listening, cause we have All the time in the world. This is the perfect way to get a smile on your face.
Ahhh I absolutely was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. So silly and High School Boy but so fun and I would've felt so damn Cool if I was still in high school, but instead I'm just going to be the grown man saying "you know who are underrated? The Fun Lovin' Criminals".
My daughter went to nursery school with Huey’s child. I didn’t know this until we were both waiting to pick up our respective offspring. I saw him and thought 🤨 “that face looks familiar, do I know them?” 🧐 “looking again, I don’t think I know them” 🤔 “they look a bit like Huey Morgan from FLC” 😳 “puts two and two together with the last name of their child” 😱 “it IS Huey from FLC!” 🫣 “oh no, my face has actually conveyed all these emotions” 🫠 “I’m dying inside” Reservoir Dogs was my favourite film for a while so I loved Scooby Snacks, and we used to put this on the pub jukebox when skiving from school. Good times.
So I CAN like rap-rock, who knew?! This vibe is way more chill than the rap-rock of late 90s/early 2000s and it is as advertised, fun lovin'.
How had I not heard of these guys? Or maybe I had and forgot. Either way, I’m glad for the (re)introduction. I consider this as much rock-rap and I do rap-rock. I’m not sure what is the more prominent style. All I can say is that they do an excellent job blending the two genres. And we’re all better for it.
loved the use of real instruments and samples on this record. super unique sound and super catchy beats and melodies!
I didn't know how this would stand up. I had it at the time and saw them live on the early tours but had sort of forgotten how smooth and laid back a lot of this album is - even though they went full lounge jazz after this. Groove and a great sound. I enjoyed returning to this.
Not a fan of the genre, It has been a nice suprise to add to my list.
Fun music!!
Some crazy genre switches. I had to stop once or twice to check the same album was playing. Very cool.
I enjoyed this album far more than I thought I would going into it. It will easily go into regular rotation for me. Beyond “Scooby Snacks”, the hit I’ve already heard many times, the album takes to a nice hip hop chill easily digested at summer picnics, camping and chill days at home with nothing to do.
Scooby Snacks! Totally forgot about that song. I feel like this band/album was on the perimeter of my college life, but aside from some band stickers I remember having, and Scooby Snacks, I never actually had a musical relationship or familiarity with them. Now I wish I had! Super groovy stuff, it’s fun and cool with some great raps.
This is a super fun and interesting album with lots of influences and musical styles included. It has some trip-hop, some jazz, some rock, some Latin music, all well executed and it sounds pretty fresh to me after almost 3 decades. This was a new album to me but an easy 4 stars that could be 5 with more listens.
Much more varied that I would have expected (having only heard Fun Lovin' Criminals and Scooby Snacks previously). I'll need a second listen to really get to grips with it.
More unique than I expected. Such an effortless combination of rock and rap. Ignoring the rash and aggressive aspects of both genres, while keeping their different grooves. The jazzy elements are cherry on top. A surprisingly compelling album.
8/10, chill beats and good vibe
Honestly, this album is fun as hell. It reminds me a lot of That Handsome Devil, actually; just less weird and a lot more chill. And with more raps about Gotti.
Wasn't expecting much when I put this on, but WOW, did it ever blow me away. The music here is simply immaculate, especially The Grave and the Constant. 50 minutes never flew by so fast.
Man this was a fun one to revisit. Lord I love the Scooby Snacks track. This album may not be revolutionary but I love its groove - a bit of California/Chili Peppers, a horn section with a touch of Mexican in it, shades of rap-like rhyme.. just fun.
This debut album of Fun Lovin' Criminals is a lot of fun. Some rap and very varied musical styles from jazz to blues, rock and hip hop to accompany it.
I really liked this. I appreciated the heavier rock samples and found it really easy to listen to
Never had awareness of them before. Fun experience.
Fun! I love this gang.
Awesome and diverse hip-hop that epitomizes everything great about the genre before it absolutely flourished in the coming decades.
I’m really surprised to find Fun Lovin’ Criminals on a list of essential albums. Maybe I’m naive, but I always thought they were a one hit wonder band. Everybody knows Scooby Snacks, but does anybody know anything else? I will after today! Songs I already knew: Scooby Snacks Favourites: Scooby Snacks, Bombin’ The L I’m honestly surprised that only the one song made it to the mainstream from this album (again, unless I just happen to live under a rock). Every song here has a very similar vibe to Scooby Snacks, with rapping, chants and crime-noir somewhat funky music alongside it. Like if Cake decided to take up rapping. I enjoyed this. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it’s definitely a good album.
Mir komplett neu - aber sehr gut!
fun and upbeat. the music is very chill without sounding boring. I really enjoyed this album
