These Dreams Of You - the worst example of that soft-rock-jazz-folk fusion; hate it. And, Everyone is an odd fit, with it's twiddeling Baroque harpischord thing going on. But And It Stoned Me will now stay with me always.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas

California Dreamin' - best thing on this album. Thought the rest of the album would be great. Nope. Pedestrian in places, leaning too heavily on Beatles and Beach Boy influences. The harmonies are obvioulsy technically perfect but it doesn't make the best of the women's voices, especially Cass's. Where the Phillips and Doherty's voices are forefronted you get that dead-behind-the-eyes-stalker-nice-boy boyfriend sound which I guess was popular of the time, but not for me. Phillips questioned whether Cass should join the band as he thought her voice might be wrong and her weight would kill their branding. Ironic, that she was the only one to carry on with a decent solo career.
