Reviews (page 3 of 7)

First time I listened but it was about what I expected. Awesome beats and Mtg has good flow. I just vibed to it and appreciated the 90s nostalgia and Kung fu movie samples throughout.

The quality control would get shaky by the late 1990s, but the Wu-Tang Clan were on a hell of a roll at the start. Tical probably wouldn't crack my top five Wu-affiliated albums, and it’s still getting five stars.

Not my jam. 2.5

4.0/10 Not horrible but don’t think I would listen again..

Had a really compelling beat and sound to it.

I believed before listening to this album that outside of Wu Tang Clan's 36 Chambers, Method Mans' best contribution to culture was the line he spoke in The Wire that went "you know who have the fattest asses and best pussy? Midgets, n*gga". This album didn't change my mind.

A solid album and performance from Meth given the circumstances around this album having to be re-recorded, but you can't help but wonder how much better the original could've been.

Liked it more than I'd expected. 3.5

Gave it 4 songs and it just dint grab me

A few good beats in there. Nothing crazy.

obviously i'm no big rap fan, however this album feels different. i love the instrumentalisation, the flow, even the raps are embedded beautifully

Pretty good! Rap isn't one of my main genres, but this had a good sound to it and I enjoyed listening.

meh. Elastica snapped though yesterday

This is exactly the vibe I needed for this Friday morning. Love this style of old school sampling/lo-fi beat production and Method Man's flow is top tier.

Good listen

Unfortunately, this is just not my genre, but I wish I could like it more because there were obviously interesting things happening here.

I enjoyed the hell out of this! I now see the thread of influence you can trace from Method Man straight through DOOM and to modern indie rappers like Roc Marciano and the Griselda guys. Really cool to hear that kind of dusty, busy, dirty, hazy boom bap all the way back in 94. This was good. Must-listen #304.

Wu-Tang has such a signular sound, and this is essentially a direct sequel to 36 chambers.

didn't take any notes oops.....if remembering correctly stimulation as a standout? liked but not obsessed

i love the layers of samples both in and from this album 3.75

Not really my vibe today - there were some parts I enjoyed, and some samples that I found cool, but I won't come back and listen again.

I wish I had had the head for hip hop in the early 90s. I missed out on so much while I was out smashing pumpkins.

A lot more chill than I expected, but I only know him from wu-tang.

Major points scored for having an appropriate runtime and ditching the 90s penchant for silly skits. As for the music, the production is not very good, with Method Man's voice being almost completely buried at times - almost like he's recording his vocals from the next room through a cardboard wall. That said, the dark vibes and atmospheric music are really neat and give this album a unique sound. 3.5/5.0: Very Good

not sure how many people were clamoring for a method man solo album when ghost was right there but here we are anyway. it did give us meth vs chef which is a fantastic track. overall the album is enjoyable

not my taste

I feel so idle listening to this album. I was definitely listening to it, but I wasn't really feeling anything. It took an incredibly long time for literally anything to catch my attention, other than the songs changing. Release Yo' Self is the real standout of this album, but it's also 8 songs in and I really only liked it for the feature and slight energy boost compared to the rest of the album. It got slightly better after that song, but I feel like this guy's whole style was done much better with the Gravediggaz 3 years later. That same kind of dark, spooky-ish beat style with the sometimes overly gory lyricism, just taken thirteen steps further than Method Man did here.

I admire Method Man demonstrating that articulation difficulties don't have to stop you from going hard. I admire RZA a lot less for demonstrating that you can successfully half ass most of your work if everyone remembers the bigger group project you're working on.

Didn't know the album. I'm open to hip hop, but not listened widely, so interested to focus on a Wu-Tang album. I like RZA's production style; I'm open to Method Man's rapping. Bring the Pain is interesting, I'm reading the lyrics, then oh dear, what's this at the end of the song? "So fuck the ho, fuck the ho". Major turn-off. Dutifully (doubtfully?) I keep listening. Nothing stands out as good. The track Method Man at least gives me the phrase "southpaw style", as sampled by some dubstep thing long ago, that's mildly nice. I have no time for any man that chucks in a "fuck the ho" for the male bonding or whatever it's supposed to be, they can fuck right off, I would rather some positive hip hop. It's Bad, 1/10.

Kind of eh? Some cool stuff on here though.

Fun samples and sounds. Manages to sound both angular and full of flow. Achieves an ominous/dark vibe. Ultimately not my cup of tea but I respect it.

pretty good ngl. I do fuck more with the 90s west coast type of beat like tupac.

Unk rap. Really though it was extremely mid. Not a huge fan of MM's voice, flow or delivery overall. There's much better solo projects from Wu-Tang members.

I listen to this while I was playing GTA San Andreas, so I'll be giving a high rate.

Klingt bisschen wie das Cover aussieht Gibt besseren HipHop

It's always tough to follow one the greatest. This album didn't do much for me and found it to be pretty boring. I mean there were solid grooves in there, but man, what the hell happened to rap and R&B in the 90's? Turned your back to everything that made it enjoyable across all races. Just not much here I found enjoyable. 2

3 The third Wu-Tang Clan member with an album on this list so far, and still no actual Wu-Tang - that must be on its way, right? Anyway, I thought this was fine overall, but I had mixed feelings on the songwriting and production. On one hand, it has a pleasing, unique sort of sound to it that never feels too in your face (aside from the weird buzzing/screaming thing at the top of Mr. Sandman), but on the other hand, it’s arguably too subtle for its own good and extremely one-note. At 44 minutes, I would say it succeeds in atmosphere and vibes, but it’s also not the kind of thing that provides a ton of highlights, especially considering the lack of substance in the lyrics. I’m not saying hip hop needs to be deep or insightful or anything like that to be noteworthy, but like, could anybody tell me what any one song here is about? Wtf even is a Tical? Isn’t that a Sonic the Hedgehog character? Every song here just seems to boil down to “don’t f*** with me”, which isn’t particularly interesting or original in concept, though Lord knows I certainly wouldn’t f*** with Method Man. I did a quick Google Search on the guy, and he’s looking hella jacked at 54. There is one song here that I think stands above the rest, and that’s Release Yo’ Delf, almost exclusively because of the I Will Survive thing it has going on. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s utilized as well as it could have been, which really holds the whole thing back from being a true highlight. Taking a quick look at the tracklist now, the title track and Meth Vs. Chef are two others I would say that I liked, but really, they only marginally stood above the rest. A decent hip hop record, but nothing special - usually I hate overproduced albums, and while I certainly wouldn’t call this underproduced, I think it could have given me more. Oh, and in case anyone was wondering what a Tical is, it stands for "taking into consideration all lives”... which is a respectable sentiment but one unfortunately similar to a modern phrase peddled by conservatives to dismiss a pattern of police violence against black people. “Ticblm” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it though, so I can’t say I fault Method Man there.

Highlights: Biscuits, Bring the Pain, Release Yo' Delf Lowlights: -------------------- Mostly enjoyable. Good flow and beats, but his tendency to shout would take me out of it most times.

From the first second, you know it's going to be bad hiphop and that it's going to be a struggle to finish

Big mid tempo chilling and thinking sort of album. Your not gonna get catchy hooks but you will hear fantastic beats and killer rhymes

Solid debut album with standout tracks, All I Need, Release yo Delf, Mr. Sandman.

it's always interesting thinking about early days of wu tang when everybody expected method man to be the big breakout star, and listening to the 36 chambers and this it's extremely easy to see why, even if things didn't really shake out that way. this is just top to bottom bangers, that dark early RZA production is sooo good on my ears, and there's a really interesting juxtaposition between that and the actual content and just how pleasant meth's voice is to listen to and how smooth his flow is. it's dark brooding and shadowy but still irresistibly enjoyable and fun

Jaahas. Eipä ollut kummoinen lätty. Nolo uhoaminen ei jaksanut viihdyttää tällä kertaa, mutta biitit olivat aika hyviä.

no es exactamente lo que escucho asi q neutral

Together or on their own, Wu Tang ain’t nothing to fuck with.

It's decent...I prefer Ghostface, Raekwon, or Inspectah Deck first.....but it's a solid listen. 4 stars if "You're All I Need" was the radio hit version. 🫤

Another Wu-Tang album. This is decent but not the best I've heard.

Not for me, but it's kind of fun in an artsy retro way, and I appreciate the humor.

Method's debut. Cool but, this list doesn't dig too deep into rap. Mostly top of the pops stuff, Wu-Tang, and its members.

Ei oikein iskenyt, enkä kuunnellut kokonaan. 1,75/5.

The first solo from a Wu-Tang members. I am very close to absolutely loving it but there's a few too many songs I don't really connect to. So this will be a very high 4, the middle chunk of the album is fantastic. Unique production for hip hop, very dark. I don't know how RZA gets songs to sound that way

Gratuitous everything. Not worth a serious listen

yo hiphop! wie halt Ichs mit dem wutangclan? c

Not bad - heard much better of this kind of thing though

It was ok

It was decent. I enjoyed the texture throughout. I tend to not focus on the lyrics so I missed out on enjoying that entire aspect. The lack of skits and shorter runtime also scores some points in my book. Rating: 2.8

Not a hip-hop fun but I enjoyed this one, especially the singles.

I didn't really get into this

Classic. Method was my favorite Wu in my youth.

Some decent tracks on here. The beats were great. Would give 3.5 if I could.

Not for me!!

Not very special. Just okay, but everything sounded pretty similar.

This was alright but didn’t enjoy it as much as some of the similar contemporary albums.

Pretty good early 90's rap album. Method Man has always had a certain smoothness to his style of rapping and this album is a great example of that. 3.5/5 Probably will listen again

Album 1035 of 1089 Tical - Method Man (1994) Rating : 1 / 5 I can respect its place in the genre and understand why it connects with its intended audience, but there was nothing here that pulled me in or made me want to engage with it further. The style, the delivery, the attitude - none of it clicked for me. I know this album is well regarded by many, but enjoyment is enjoyment, and I didn’t find any here. Sometimes an album just isn’t for you, and this was one of those cases. No lingering thoughts, no urge to revisit - just on to the next one.

не то, чтобы мне есть, что сказать о нем

Yea I really like this album, 7.7/10

One of my favorite rap albums of all time, and my #1 of the Wu-Tang solo albums.

It's fine. Lyrics are decent, beats are on par for mid-90s rap. Ranking this a little lower given the context of this being "1001 albums to listen to before you die", as to me this feels like a plain rap album from one of the members of wu tang

Yuck, average crap rap. Please no.

One of the better solo Wu albums

I love the 36 Chambers, and this comes off the back of that and very much sounds like it. Method Man's vocals are super, as you'd expect, but overall the album doesn't reach the same heights or consistency as others in this space.

Method Man's flow and voice (lisp and all) are just too good. Cheese got what he deserved though.

I enjoyed practically every track.

Love Method’s flow and RZA’s dark jazzy beats. That said there aren’t that many truly great tracks on this.

Not a big fan of this but I liked the last two songs the best if I’m picking favourites.

This album has a dark sound to it. It feels menacing and a little ominous. For me, I could play this in the background while I'm working but I didn't feel compelled to pay any particular attention to it. After sitting through the album I concluded that it was overwhelmingly just ok

The “Who is Your Favorite Wu-Tang Member?” Personality Test: RZA: you’re bossy, a perfectionist and overly technical but also good at what you do Raekwon: you’re funny but not very funny and a shoplifter U-God: you have low self-esteem, you don’t want to make waves, you have nice hair Method Man: ya basic, you’re a weed aficionado, you like to have fun and not think too hard Masta Killa: you eat canned ravioli at least weekly and never file taxes GZA: you are pretentious, you think you’re better than everyone else and are probably 80% right Inspectah Deck: you are attention-seeking and want to come off as unique Ghostface Killa: you are serious about rap and a terrible dancer Old Dirty Bastard: you make good choices and are right about who the best member of the Wu is I like Meth. He has some good songs. He was funny in “Garden State”. He worked with Redman, who had the single best episode of “MTV Cribs” of all time. He’s maybe my fourth favorite Wu-Tang Clan member but that’s not bad. This album was decent and pretty reflective of his work in general.

Ah, another entry from the clan of Wu. I hadn’t listened to this one before, so I was glad to stop in. Tical is kind of a spooky album, don’t you think? It’s almost Halloweeny. I have a body soap from Target called Method Men, and I always think of Method Man as I’m soaping up, which is weird for me. It was hard not to think of soap while listening through this album.

Is Tical that disease where you pull out all of your hair? Regardless, M-E-T-H-O-D Man brings Kung Fu soundbites, songs that take entirely too long to actually start and a skill with words that impresses and perplexes me in equal measure. Overall, worth a listen.

1/19/26. Love the Wu-Tang anthology, first time hearing this and it's decent. Not my favorite but some good tracks and features on here.

This album was smooth boom bap lyricism. I was familiar with Wu Tang but have never listened to any of their solo work. I should’ve listened to this way earlier. The beats have that classic 90s feel and Method Man’s rapping is so good. His flow and the internal rhyme schemes in his bars are crazy and in classic method man fashion, he can really craft some expert imagery of how he’ll torture you.

Pretty entertaining. I liked it.

If I could give this negative stars I would

This was pretty solid, but a good example of why production matters so much. By my money, I felt like the vocals were so hidden behind the amped up bass that I could hardly understand anything, and without a balanced treble on top, everything just felt really sedated and homogenous. That being said, this was still damn cool and a pleasure to listen to. Fave tracks: - Tical - Biscuits - Bring The Pain - All I Need - What The Blood Clot - Release Yo' Delf - I Get My Thang In Action

Annoying sounds sometimes. Average hiphop to my ears.

Hat einen gewissen Vibe

This sounded like pretty solid rap, with some good rhymes/bars. Not really my thing though.

i'm baffled that this is a 5 but it's just a tight 50 minutes of solid rap, fun stuff.

An album of an artist I’ve never heard of, in a genre I don’t usually listen to. This is gonna be fun! I know absolutely nothing about reviewing rap, so here we go. The first song and title track honestly had me strutting around the house, may I say very much not like the 21yr old white woman I supposedly am. It was so fun though, dude has a good flow. Track 2: Biscuits, had me grooving the whole time. I don’t think I’ve stopped moving to the beat since I started listening. Bring the Pain has some decent background music. I’m 90% sure that this guy had name dropped the Wu Tang Clan in every song so far, a group which on further research, he was in at the time. Just an observation. I’m honestly thinking this album is very much vibes on a first listen. Im sure there’s some good lyrics in there if you listen closely, but on a first listen I haven’t been able to catch anything. Ok, I may take that previous statement back. He just referred to “keeping his fat ass pussy tight”. Not… out of place in the genre, but I think it’s telling that that was the line I picked out. The song is a banger though. Ohhhh boy, Not a Blood Clot was hard to get through. I don’t want to police language at all, especially that with historical connotation, but the n-word was used so much in this song. That’s all I’ll say on it because it’s really not my place, but I felt I needed to mention it as this review is supposed to be my honest opinion. Meth vs Chef, I don’t have any strong thoughts. Sub Crazy, some of the lyrics I picked up were somewhat gross, but eh. Release yo ‘Delf, can I just say hmmm. P.L.O style, a fun hip hop song. Nothing really to say here. If I’m being honest, the album started to wear on me a bit here. I was still finding it good for the most part, but it’s not a genre I generally enjoy, and like it more in small doses than an entire listen through. Mr Sandman, well it was what it set out to be. It had some good moments and the closer, while it seemed sort of self serving, was aight. Overall, a 3.5/5 ⭐️ . It started out really promising but I found it dragged horribly about halfway through. The first/title track ended up being my favourite. Welp, for my first full listen of a 90s hip hop album, I probably could’ve done worse. 14/1089

Strangely, I think the East Coast/West Coast rap rivalry kept me away from this solo album. Enjoyable listen. I do like hearing Method Man outside of Wu-Tang.

sweet rap

enjoyed more than i thought i would

Im not really feeling it

Some nice vibes but not much else of note

Continues the Wu Tang sound and an OK listen. Vocals were very hard to hear.

It’s just ‘OK’ isn’t it.

Ok I guess, not much to it

Wu-tang derivative

Very methoddTICAL in his delivery. Despite all the assassinatin’, killin’, maiming, motherforking, and naggerin’, it’s a solid debut. Songs have very similar beats, but got some valid rhyming in - ie: youze in danger, Let me pull ya brain outcha ass with a hanger. Gotta be some crotch grappin’ and pointin’ at me with that one! (2.8*s) Not my style, but I guess we rap poetic about what we know…

I was not as impressed with Method Man's debut album as I thought I would be. He is one of the better MCs from the clan but RZA's beats were too stripped down and dirty for my taste. I do like the continuation of incorporating Wu-Kung-Fu styles though. Taking into consideration all lyrics and production, Tical is just some t(yp)ical early 90s hip-hop. Method gets better with subsequent releases. For this record...1.95 stars.

Not sure what it is about Tical but it scratches a certain itch. It's a weird entry as despite its mostly pedestrian content it hits a certain sweet spot. RZA's early production is pretty simple but mostly effective on this early album. There isn't really a flagship hit single that has had lasting impact (Bring The Pain maybe?). Perhaps if you are a prior Wu Tang fan there might be some added hype from the guest spots and featured artists for me they didn't do anything to add to or elevate any tracks. Overall the album is loaded with Method Man name-drops, the word Tical, kung fu references and typical 90's hip hop shtick. There isn't anything overly special about the album, but it still kinda works. My best guest as to why is the impact gained from the force of Method Man's deep voice. Something about his voice and style are rugged and hardened and really elevates anything he says. Had this been a release by another rapper it wouldn't hit as hard and would probably be just another 90's hip hop album to forget. Method Man has always been my favorite Wu member, mostly because he sounds cool when he talks (also How High). Even if Wu Tang Clan isn't anywhere near the top of my musical list I'll always love their affinity for old school kung fu movies. The so-called shaolin style is really endearing from a fellow kung fu junkie. That alone is enough to get smile out of me here and there and bump it up a couple ticks. 2.58 stars Moving forward I will be taking a drink every time I hear the word Tical in a Method Man or Wu Tang song.

No thanks

Liked it, but prefer Wu Tang.

A bit shit really.

NOT my thing but goodd. so much character in it

Good. Some tracks sound and feel the same but overall, nice. 4/5

Interesting use of backing volcals and unusual sounds, lyricism. A bit monotine, but enjoyable for an album so out of my comfort zone.

Why do I need to listen to this before I die? Wu-Tang Clan’s stuff as a group I get, but while this was a solid album, and one I enjoyed, it doesn’t seem that necessary.

Great beats for the most part

He is a talented rapper, but I don’t think any songs really stand out as being great on this album, with the possible exception of Method Man, which was already on Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers).

Better than expected. I feel like I missed out on him having a sitcom in the early 2000s.

That flow so ‘credible! Idk what it is about Wu-Tang but holy shit Method Man just defines it.

I'm not a big rap guy, but this was solid. Feels repetitive by the end, though. 3.3

This whole thing is so solid. No fat to trim. What a fantastic vibe.

Decent rap.

One of the weaker of the initial Wu Tang solo albums in my opinion, but it's still really good which speaks to how amazing the collective clan is. Favorite track: Bring the Pain

01/01/2026 I was expecting a little more from this album, it turned out to be quite boring. Spotify listeners: 3 million

pas mon style mais c'est cool

pretty good not my taste tho

as someone who listens to a lot of hip-hop/rap i wish i enjoyed more og rap. i think it’s interesting because a lot of the production on this album was similar to artists i really enjoy like the refugees and lauryn hill.

En som savner Wutan. 🤷 Om muligt endnu mindre noget for mig.

Wu-Tang og deres medlemmer må være de mest overvurderede Hip-Hoppere ever

Listens: 3 Standout Tracks: Bring the Pain, What The Blood Clot IMO Method Man has the most distinctive voice of the Wu Tang Clan members. It makes him stand out, and makes him easily recognizable when he appears on albums or tracks as a guest. As far as hip-hop albums go, this isn't as good as 36 Chambers, but it's solid, respectable entry and shows that Method Man could break out and do his own thing, not strictly having to rely on Wu Tang Clan. The album features the same stripped down, minimalist approach to beats and rhythms that are featured in 36 Chambers, and it's personally a style I really enjoy It's not overdone; there's an ever-present focus on the lyrics, not on the music. The beats are just a way to tie the lyrics to a cadence. The blurb about the album mentions "I'll Be There For You / You're All I Need To Get By" being (one of) the singles that drove the commercial success of the album, but this track doesn't even appear on the album. It's on the deluxe album, but only as remixes? Which one (if any) is the original track? Why is a "driving" single not on the original album release? Scratch this: The original track is "All I Need". It's weird that they title it differently as "the single" version.

A perfectly fine album, but I'm going to lose my shit if Tical's on the list but Only Built for Cuban Linx... and Liquid Swords aren't I'll lose my shit. Hell, I'd put Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version above this too. Meth's great but best in small doses.

2.75. Love Meth, but this was always my least favorite solo premier release from members of the Wu. Was hoping I’d change my mind or have something more click with today’s listen but it did not.

*Solid hip hop record with lots of Wu-Tang cameos

Maybe high 3s, but need to listen again with more attention to lyrics for definitive

Method Man is a member of the Wu-Tang clan, and this is pretty much what I imagined the Wu-Tang Clan would sound like. I liked it, it was fun and had some good lines

It seemed like ordinary rap music to me. Nothing in particular stands out from the rest.

Dark Rap -> 1

Creo que la próxima vez que lo escuche me va a gustar más, pero me ha gustado y me ha parecido buen disco.

This was fine, I don’t know enough about hiphop to understand the significance here..

#212/1001. Taking in consideration all listens (1), 2.

This made me sad. I typically like hip-hop...but the underground mumbo jumbo doesn't do it for me and I had a hard time getting through it.

I was never really into Wu-Tang Clan, or this style of hip-hop in general. I did enjoy this though - Method Man's rap style, some interesting choices around structure (the "sparring match" of Meth vs. Chef, for example), and RZA's great beats and samples really elevated it. Ultimately, I liked this and respect the work, but it's just not really my scene.

Great flow

This is #day493 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and… Method Man is a name that rings a bell from my childhood. I can't say I've ever listened to anything from his roster, though. This particular album is an OK '90s hip-hop, but I found it less enjoyable than another Wu-Tang member's solo record, which I got just a couple of days ago. This is a 2 out of 5. Looking forward to #day494.

Nothing for me here. No melody. No harmonic progression. Robot rhythm sections. Lyrics obsessively centered on banal ego stroking and insults. Yawn. Next.

Good for its genre, just not my cup of tea.

I liked WTC back in the day but hadn't explored the solo albums much. I enjoyed this album, there was nothing that really blew my mind but it was solid throughout, no skippers here. No major standouts but Release Yo' Delf is a particular banger and All I Need was a surprise (I wasn't expecting a straight up love song!). Have saved a few tracks and will listen again for sure

didnt like it. Drum machine was unbelievably irritating. It never changed just ticked away in the background I only lasted 6 tracks.

This had a cool atmosphere, but the music wasn't amazing. Liked it enough to give a 3

Decent but doesn't reach the lofty heights of the other wu tang solo projects like liquid swords of cuban linx.

Nice old school hiphop. Faves: All I Need, Release Yo'Delf (special mention: I'll Be There For You/You're All I Need To Get By

This seems to have been a cultural phenomenon that I missed because I was doing other things. If I'd heard it and liked it in the 1990s I would probably like rap a whole lot more. I hear echoes of this album in much of the music that's come in the 30+ years since. I enjoyed listening, but it's not my go-to genre.

'3' is an interesting kind of a rating to give. It almost feels like the absence of a rating to me; it shouldn't, because this would be an easy 7 - if I was sort of defiling my personal beliefs regarding art for number-crafting, which I do concede is fun but do find delegitimizing - but I found this album good, honestly, and maybe it's a three because it's hard to say much more. 'All I Need' is a standout track that marries the sort of dominating desperation of exiting poverty and hardness with the vast romantic Need of another person (features a great planetary comparison mid-length) and that charmed this album to a solid recommendation... Of course it would always be a recommendation though because it's hip-hop and hip-hop is freakin' badass

Not bad, not for me.

Holy shit. Like, holy shit. I love Wu-Tang, warts and all, but for the longest time I assumed that ODB was destined to be my fave because of his ridiculous wild blend of rhymes and irreverence. And then I threw this on. Rap and hip-hop is a genre I’m very picky about, but this is precisely in my sweet spot, despite it not being some grand statement of beats or lyrics. Method Man is not going to blow your mind lyrically, but godDAMN will he punch you in the throat with his voice and his style. I don’t have a single complaint and this is rocketing like a bullet to the top of my favorite rap albums.

After 36 Chambers was released, Meth was the Wu-Tang member w/ the most breakout potential, due in large part to the hit single from their debut. And yet, in the pantheon of solo Wu records, Tical isn't celebrated to the extent that Cuban Linx..., Liquid Swords, Ironman, Supreme Clientele, and Return to the 36 Chambers are. I'd like to think that's b/c Method Man was far stranger than anybody could've imagined, tho 'Method Man' isn't your everyday rap hit. The thirteen tracks that make up Tical are all beautifully odd in one way or another, w/ choruses and standalone lyrics that reclaim strangeness as hardness: 'Is it real, son, is it really real, son? / Let me know it's real, son, if it's really real'; 'The ism helps to stimulate my pugilism.'

I can’t remember if I’ve heard this album all the way through before, but if I did, it would’ve been back in the 90s. What I do remember are all the DJ mixtapes that featured these tracks, not to mention the countless samples that have been pulled from this album over the years. Ultimately, it’s a classic that has aged pretty good. What really stands out to me are the dark, murky beats and the smoky atmosphere running through the production, they give the whole record a moody vibe.

Not into the pro-PLO messaging

Expectations were not high when I saw the parental advisory on the cover, they were confirmed when I listened to it. Overuse of the n word and swearing makes it boring. Terrible

As with all Wu-Tang related album, the lyrics are brilliant. I feel like the first third of the album’s production is too grimy, though. The music lightens up the further you get into the album.

Method of wu debut Bring the pain I'll be there for you

Of all the Wutang-related albums I've heard, I probably enjoyed this the most, which means I kind of liked some parts of it, and will give it three stars. This kind of rap is still not really my thing.

I had a great time listening through this album. I love how varied the songs are, and how Method Man does some quirky things with his voice at times to mix it up. Some great features on here as well, big thumbs up. Best Track: All I Need

So I think it works in a playlist but not as a whole, but I am just a white boy from southamerica.

Girl don't waste that, swallow it all! Terrible and disgusting.

Still a lot of Wu Tang for a solo album. Very good sampling and production.

Zuhause, Gerstetten, Deutschland. Ein klein wenig öde.

I'd group Method Man's debut solo album with ODB's debut solo album. In fact, I'd say both emcees are quite alike and have the same challenge for me: How can two emcees whose style is incredible in small bursts handle a full-length solo album? And while I do think ODB's debut solo album excels in showcasing everything that made him so incredible, Method Man (and the RZA) also manage to mostly play to his strengths on this album as well. The whole thing is intoxicating, bassy, fat, submerged. I attribute that to the sparse beats and the really low-end-oriented mix of the songs here. It's an acquired taste, and it creates a pretty surreal atmosphere, especially when unorthodoxly paired with some of the more cuthroat moments here, like with 'Meth Vs. Chef'. But you'll also just get some incredible classic Wu-Tang songs here, some of the very best. Starting with the obvious banger 'Bring The Pain', which in all its boom bap '90s rapisms, still manages to sound relentlessly Wu-tang in its production and in Method Man's lyrical style. 'What The Blood Clot' sounds clearer than anything else here, for some reason, and 'Release Yo' Delf' was pretty forward-thinking for the Wu-Tang Clan in the mid-'90s in general, given the cleaner production. The absolute best song for me has always been 'Mr. Sandman's though - not only because I just can't get enough of RZA's disjointed rapping style from around this time, but the whole thing is just so hilariously over-the-top and again captures everything I love about this group. Clearly, a bit of RZA's Gravediggaz sounds slip into this one as well. And shoutout to Street Life, he's one of these mostly unknown Wu affiliates, but he absolutely kills his verse on this song. It might be hard to believe, but this really is one of my LEAST favorite Wu golden-age solo albums, yet it's still so great.

Dull for me, don’t get the wu tang hype 1.9/5

I guess you either get this or don't. Not my type of music.

Taking a few days off from this for the holidays, but I've listened to this one so much that I don't really need a dedicated listen to chime in. One of my favorite Wu-Tang projects, thereby making it one of my favorite rap albums. I've never found Method Man's lyrics terribly deep, but I love his flow, and he's one of my favorite baritone rappers. RZA's production is typically perfect — everything that he touched from this era sounds of a piece but never gets boring. Probably not one of the masterpieces of the genre, but it's a classic and "Bring the Pain" is one of the coolest songs ever. If you're running into this for the first time, seek out the "Razor Sharp Mix" of "I'll Be There For You / You're All I Need to Get By," a remixed version of "All I Need" featuring Mary J Blige, released as a single in the wake of Tical.

Ground-breaking in 1994, so-so in 2025.

7.5 / 10

It’s a solid album, just doesn’t stack up compared to the other solo wu tang projects on the list (Cuban Linx & Liquid Swords)

Here's a fun thing - instead of singing Human League's "Here comes the Mirror Man", sing "Here comes the METHOD man". More hilarious than this anyway.

enjoyed this more than i thought i would to be fair

Not really for me.

Is All I Need the greatest love song of the 90s? — I think neither the lyrics nor the production really stand out to me here

Straight walk off

Meh, some good stuff but not overly impressed.

even in my biggest method man obsession times, and there was some, i always found it hard to listen to a full album. I still like the bangers but a whole album doesnt keep my attention.. regardless m-e-t-h-o-d man is one of my favs

Interesting, but not quite the groove for me

I appreciate Wu-Tang as much, if not a bit more, than the next guy and maintain that as a hip-hop group their solo talent and production is pretty much unparalleled. And yet for as much as I enjoy Method Man and his solo cut from Enter the Wu-Tang , I have never listened to this album. After listening straight through on two separate occasions, I'm left feeling that this is among the second tier of their collective works. Solid, with some moments that shine, but far from the greatness that is Liquid Swords or Supreme Clientele. This album keeps with the unifying RZA production of Wu-Tang, albeit even more minimal and erring towards sloppy at times. While the beats are often effective, I think this is far from his best work. While I appreciate the juxtaposition of the bottomed out bass and high keys on Biscuits, the beat has an unfinished feel about it. Separately the Marvin Gaye sample on All I Need doesn't mix, standing a little too proud relative to the rest of an otherwise great song. Tical is a surprisingly minimal opener. This falsetto call and response bit cracks me up. I do appreciate that Biscuits continues his infatuation with sticking hangers up peoples asses. Bring the Pain jams pure and simple -- I've heard the "Is it really real son" line called out in other works. Meth vs. Chef is a fine face off between the two Wu members, and the only other posse cut, Mr. Sandman is a fine entry. This falls around a low 4 for me.

Really enjoy the Wu Tung universe where they all went solo and still feature on each others tracks. Good flow, beats are solid but nothing special. High side of 3 for sure on this one. Good to bop to while working.

Real solid 90s hip-hop for sure. So awesome that each member of Wu-Tang went and did solo work to see each of their own individual style.

Meth Tical! Biscuits rules. What a dark sounding song. Actually this entire album has a dark brooding sound to it. Kinda dig it with Meth rapping over it. Remix to Method Man is inferior to the OG. I do really enjoy Method Man, going with a high 3 on this one bordering on 4.

There's a lot of style and substance in this record. Favourite Track(s): Bring the Pain, Meth Vs. Chef, I Get My Thang In Action Least Favourite Track(s): Mr. Sandman

Not my type of music at all.

Okay nothing popping out

Wu-tang fra morgenstunden er en vibe. Meget fint album men lidt for ensformigt efter min smag.

Wu-Tang just isn't my style I don't think. I have yet to like one of the albums the group or its members has made Standouts Release Yo' Delf 2/5

Poetry? Protest? Purpose?

Loving the rap introduction the 1001 is giving me. But this album isn't landing. Pretty much downhill after the Mussorsky quote at the start.

Could potentially like this more after a few listens.

Rap.. no thanks

Pas fan de rap, cet album s'écoute quand même ! Certainement parce que je ne comprends pas toutes les paroles !

Enjoyable

It's a weird thing to rate a Dead Kennedys album higher than a Method Man album, but here we are. This is a pretty good album, but definitely not a special album. There are a couple very good songs and no terrible songs; it's a perfectly cromulent 90s Hip Hop album. We need half stars. 3.5

I have no real sense of what makes great rap or hip hop — a lot of it sounds quite similar to me, and that definitely applies to Method Man’s Tical. I’ve tried to get into Wu-Tang Clan over the years, mainly because I love “Gravel Pit,” but their sound has never quite clicked with me. This album has some strong moments and a few great beats, but overall the lyrics feel dated and nothing really grabs my attention. It’s just not my kind of music. Favourite track: “Mr. Sandman” was decent. Least favourite track: Most of the album feels dated — it’s just not for me. Album artwork: A fairly standard rap and hip-hop cover.

Pretty okay, maybe I'm missing some history, but this doesn't feel groundbreaking. By no means is it bad though.

One of the best albums ever recorded

Yup. Straight off the 36 Chambers and staying methodical about it.

Classic Wu sound. Great production. Great Flow. Not sure why I don't listen to this as often as Liquid Swords or Ironman?

I didn't know much about Method Man and I kind of liked this album. The backing tracks have a really good groove. Method Man has good delivery. I didn't find myself remembering or going back to any tracks (maybe Mr Sandman?) but I could definitely listen to this again.

Even less than classic albums by members of the Wu Tang Clan are still generally pretty good albums.

Was really looking forward to this given 1) my existing love for Method's bigger hits, and 2) how solid the Wu Tang solo efforts have been (esp Liquid Swords). But I was a bit bummed not to be more blown away. It felt less cohesive than GZA and Raekwon's entries on this list, and some of the samples were downright painful (Release Yo Delf, Mr. Sandman). Plus, if we're going by the original album release, the FAR superior remix of 'All I Need' isn't on this album - reducing the hits to essentially 'Bring the Pain.' It wasn't all a lot - I did like 'What the Blood Clot' and 'Sub Crazy' but probably not enough to push this beyond a 3. Maybe that 36 Chambers studio flood really did screw this album up by forcing RZA to throw this together quickly?

I didn’t like this. I prefer my hip hop to have more hooks and quirks than. It’s very polished and has lots of layers, but this just isn’t for me. It’s not bad, I’m just not into it.

Not bad, a bit gritty and growly.

Not a rap fan

Album Nr. 86 Trifft meinen Geschmack überhaupt nicht.

Some classic hip hop .

I kind of liked it!

The beats are pretty nasty. Loved the grungey vibe.

Dark and melodic and pretty awesome.

Feels like some drunk kid slurring and trying to rap. Meth man.

Done meh

Vou falar nada, 0/10

Dope. Just absolutely fucking dope. Well done, yo!

I can recognise the significance of this album even if it wasn't for me (though I do enjoy hip-hop in general). and any album that opens with a quote of Mussorgsky has my vote.

The Method Man was the original name for Len Houmous’ answer to The Karma Sutra. He later changed the name to ‘Sex For Dummies’ by Len Houmous. It led to a whole range of ‘for Dummies’ books and the rest is history! 3.8 3/13 Bring The Pain

Same beat for every song, I can barely understand what they're saying, what is even special about this. The occasional vocals made this somewhat tolerable but apart from that it was pretty crap. 1.8

“Biscuits” was tracked and mixed really poorly, the bassline overwhelms Method Man’s voice. At least “Sub Crazy” acknowledged this projects obsession with sub bass and did something interesting with it. I don’t think we’d see echoey, trippy vocals like this until the onset of cloud rap in the 2010’s. It took until “Release Yo Delf” for my ears to perk up for something. Finally, Method Man shows some life and variance in his flows and delivery. Fantastic interpolation of the I Will Survive melody. Method Man is really great when he (or his features) is flying off the handle, like on “Mr. Sandman”. Sadly, there is very little of that, especially on the front half; credit to Tical for keeping some of its most interesting songs till the end, but too little, too late. Far too mellow and doesn’t do much to poke its head out from the sea of other WTC albums or solo projects that would follow on this list. 2/5

Homie once described this album as pure bass. And it's a bit true. Solid rap stuff from Method Man, but yet another example why the Wu-Tang Clan best works when they are all on the same album (not necessarily on the same track, mind you).

Really enjoyed this. Had a couple of these tracks on a mix tape, but had never heard the full album. Would happily add this to my collection if I came across it.

Favorite tracks are Bring the Pain and All I Need. Method Man has a great flow, the lyrics are pretty good here too. It’s not my favorite style of hip hop, but all in all I think this is a good album.

# 601 : Tical Tical – Method Man’s Method for Making Me Nap Nope. This was bad. Hip-hop is already low on my personal list, and this album sits near the basement of that genre. Every track feels like the same beat copy-pasted across the runtime, with lyrics buried so deep you’d need a mining permit to find them. It’s not fun, it’s not engaging, and it’s definitely not something I’d revisit. I got bored fast—like, “checking how many tracks are left” bored. Method Man sounds like he’s going through the motions, and honestly, so was I by the end. Best Track (if you must): None. Unless you count the sound of silence after hitting stop. Verdict: ★ for endurance. File under “albums that make you question your life choices.”

Very boring rap Best Song: All I Need Rating: 5/10 Stars: 3

Over pretentious (how many wutang samples do you need to put?) Boring (one song = one beat) Mindless (or maybe the texts were good? Couldn't understand because for some reasons even the sparse layering made it impossible to understand most of it). And then the commenter here claiming that only people who understand the genre and can spot the differences are allowed to criticize - that's exactly the type of l33t shit that makes me hate that genre.

Fun, got old

boze negers

Impressive that he made the same song thirteen times

Keep trying to lock into any of the hip hop records on this list. I enjoyed some of the lyrics and the kung fu samples throughout this album. But found the beats and lack of anything resembling a melody unpleasant. 3/5

This album was decent, and Method Man is one of the best solo members of Wu-Tang. I still feel that each member on their own is nowhere near as good as the Clan together, and this isn’t among the better solo projects of the members.

Even if it’s not my usual genre, I can tell this one’s good. Gritty, smoky, and full of that early Wu-Tang darkness. “Bring the Pain” stands out, and the minimalist “ding-ding-ding” production gives it that unmistakable 90s New York mood. Not exactly office-safe, but definitely a classic.

Love this album! Added a couple more track to my favorites list. Glad it popped up.

Method Man has better albums. This one’s kind of boring.

Usually Wu-Tang adjacent works for me and this was something I've not listened to before. It's very famialiar in sound, but less aggressive in feel. I really liked the groove inherent in the beats, while the verses are on occasion quite aggressive, the delivery for the most part is not. Will listen again!

This was pretty good, really solid in spots and has a dark atmospheric vibe throughout. Tical and release yo delf were the highlights for me. Nothing mind blowing but fun to listen to.

#741. Good shit. 4/5: decent

Enjoyed this, Bring The Pain slaps (3.5)

3 seems low but 4 is too high. But I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Good lad for having a song called PLO style

I like a bit of Wu-Tang but this didn't do it for me. Some decent moments but mostly poo

Raw but polished, like a lot of Wu-Tang productions to be honest. This album is a classic for a reason and it still sounds great. It's not the best solo album from the Wu-Tang stable, that'd be Supreme Clientele, but it's still a very good record.

It’s ok. Beats are cool but it’s not remarkable.

method man is great, I like him, but in hip hop it is rare to have a whole album that is stellar from top to bottom (3ft high..de la soul, almost all of Tribe called Quest) and this is the case here - 4 or 5 tracks are great but the rest in the trash please..

I got into this. Unique sound, from dark and somewhat ominous to the high voice that completely shifts the vibe. Its smart. Love it.

Just like Kiss - Wu-Tang members are better together - at least for a full album. Do I mean that - at all? Probably not because there's no "New York Groove" much less a "Radioactive" or an "I Can't Stop the Rain" in the WTC - or it's affiliated projects - catalog. How to take that statement? I'm basically listing songs from Kiss solos albums which are pretty much garbage as is that entire Kiss catalog save maybe the aforementioned "New York Groove". Why is Kiss even here? In this review much less on this planet? Which then leads to why any of us are here? Walking. Talking. Listening... "Is it real, son, is it really real, son?/Let me know it’s real son, if it’s really real” Who knows...but we gotta keep it moving.

Old school rap

Low on the mutha fuckers, niggas (although they are there) which makes a change, and some interesting bits of backing tracks, but I still struggle with this genre.

I liked this. I don't really have any insight other than there have been several hip hop albums from this era on this list. Wu Tang and Wu Tang adjacent stuff has been consistently good.

Not for me.

Its sort of Wu Tang adjacent but not as good as lacking all ingredients. I do like Method Man's delivery and the pace of the songs. Not wholly down with the lyrical content tho. A low 3.

Trying to open my musical tastes with these albums, but still struggling with rap. This one doesn't change that. With the same drum machine beat on all tracks, they all just merge into one, with an angry dude giving off bravado. Nothing deep in those lyrics, and not much from a musical perspective.

Just another rap album. Nothing spectacular about it, some ok tracks. Better than a 1, but only just. 2

Such a cliche.

Rap is a funny old game. After the first couple of tracks I was beginning to sort of enjoy Method Man's delivery and the clever use of samples to build a song. But then he, like most modern rappers, began to invite a merry old crew of poor performers to join him on vocal duties, which instantly destroyed that [for want for a better word] connection I was starting to feel with him. Why do they do this? Do these confident sounding men have confidence issues? Do they like to sabotage their own work as some sort of joke? Or are they just being charitable, by helping out the less fortunate? Whichever it is, it affects the amount of stars I'm going to give him. Im sure Mr Man will be heart broken when he sees this, but instead of a 3 star, its a 2.

Wu Tang Forever! That said, this isn't the best solo album from a Wu (although Method is arguably the best MC). This one's mid all over.

An old rap album, but this one creaks a little under the wear 'n' tear Very casual looping-beat-going-on, rapping-over-it, but it varies enough to not feel like too much a chore Decent

I want to like Wu-Tang more than I actually do like Wu-Tang. This one is particularly dated-sounding. Very 1994. I guess I prefer him as a guest or teaming up with Redman than as a front man on his own.

Much like the other Wu-Tang-related releases, I feel like I'm hearing some crucially important hip-hop album without any frame of reference or adequate appreciation. I *do* appreciate the relatively short playtime of the album (remarkably restrained of MM), and I *think* I might have actually heard "Bring the pain" before, which would likely be a first for the Clan and me. This also seems like RZA's best production of the albums I've heard so far in this collection. And although it didn't make it on the main album in the US, the remake of "All I need" with Mary J. Blige ("I'll be there for you / You're all I need to get by") is probably the best of the album, with "Release yo' delf" a close second (especially with Blue Raspberry singing the lyrics to Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive" in the background); I also enjoyed hearing the Chemical Brothers remix of "All I need".

Wasn't blown away but didn't mind it either. I'm probably not the target audience.

Great for parties

East Coast Hip-Hop. I don't care what coast it's from, I just don't see the point of yet another Hip-Hop album in this list.

like, divertido, cool, me gusto All I need

++:Bring the Pain, What the Blood Clot, Meth vs. Chef, Mr. Sandman +: Tical, P.L.O. Style, I Get My Thang in Action, Method Man (Remix) +-: Biscuits, All I Need, Sub Crazy, Release Yo' Delf, Stimulation 5,2/10

The Wu-Tang Clan have much better to offer, ultimately being a group made up of some of the greatest rappers of all time, but in the grander scheme of things this is still a pretty solid hip hop album. It is a bit dated, and does pale in comparison to other Wu-Tang projects *cough* Liquid Swords, but it's still just a well enough put together and performed album overall.

whatever, I liked it!

Bee Movie Script According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Ooh, black and yellow! Let's shake it up a little. Barry! Breakfast is ready! Ooming! Hang on a second. Hello? - Barry? - Adam? - Oan you believe this is happening? - I can't. I'll pick you up. Looking sharp. Use the stairs. Your father paid good money for those. Sorry. I'm excited. Here's the graduate. We're very proud of you, son. A perfect report card, all B's. Very proud. Ma! I got a thing going here. - You got lint on your fuzz. - Ow! That's me! - Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000. - Bye! Barry, I told you, stop flying in the house! - Hey, Adam. - Hey, Barry. - Is that fuzz gel? - A little. Special day, graduation. Never thought I'd make it. Three days grade school, three days high school. Those were awkward. Three days college. I'm glad I took a day and hitchhiked around the hive. You did come back different. - Hi, Barry. - Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good. - Hear about Frankie? - Yeah. - You going to the funeral? - No, I'm not going. Everybody knows, sting someone, you die. Don't waste it on a squirrel. Such a hothead. I guess he could have just gotten out of the way. I love this incorporating an amusement park into our day. That's why we don't need vacations. Boy, quite a bit of pomp... under the circumstances. - Well, Adam, today we are men. - We are! - Bee-men. - Amen! Hallelujah! Students, faculty, distinguished bees, please welcome Dean Buzzwell. Welcome, New Hive Oity graduating class of... ...9:15. That concludes our ceremonies. And begins your career at Honex Industries! Will we pick ourjob today? I heard it's just orientation. Heads up! Here we go. Keep your hands and antennas inside the tram at all times. - Wonder what it'll be like? - A little scary. Welcome to Honex, a division of Honesco and a part of the Hexagon Group. This is it! Wow. Wow. We know that you, as a bee, have worked your whole life to get to the point where you can work for your whole life. Honey begins when our valiant Pollen Jocks bring the nectar to the hive. Our top-secret formula is automatically color-corrected, scent-adjusted and bubble-contoured into this soothing sweet syrup with its distinctive golden glow you know as... Honey! - That girl was hot. - She's my cousin! - She is? - Yes, we're all cousins. - Right. You're right. - At Honex, we constantly strive to improve every aspect of bee existence. These bees are stress-testing a new helmet technology. - What do you think he makes? - Not enough. Here we have our latest advancement, the Krelman. - What does that do? - Oatches that little strand of honey that hangs after you pour it. Saves us millions. Oan anyone work on the Krelman? Of course. Most bee jobs are small ones. But bees know that every small job, if it's done well, means a lot. But choose carefully because you'll stay in the job you pick for the rest of your life. The same job the rest of your life? I didn't know that. What's the difference? You'll be happy to know that bees, as a species, haven't had one day off in 27 million years. So you'll just work us to death? We'll sure try. Wow! That blew my mind! "What's the difference?" How can you say that? One job forever? That's an insane choice to have to make. I'm relieved. Now we only have to make one decision in life. But, Adam, how could they never have told us that? Why would you question anything? We're bees. We're the most perfectly functioning society on Earth. You ever think maybe things work a little too well here? Like what? Give me one example. I don't know. But you know what I'm talking about. Please clear the gate. Royal Nectar Force on approach. Wait a second. Oheck it out. - Hey, those are Pollen Jocks! - Wow. I've never seen them this close. They know what it's like outside the hive. Yeah, but some don't come back. - Hey, Jocks! - Hi, Jocks! You guys did great! You're monsters! You're sky freaks! I love it! I love it! - I wonder where they were. - I don't know. Their day's not planned. Outside the hive, flying who knows where, doing who knows what. You can'tjust decide to be a Pollen Jock. You have to be bred for that. Right. Look. That's more pollen than you and I will see in a lifetime. It's just a status symbol. Bees make too much of it. Perhaps. Unless you're wearing it and the ladies see you wearing it. Those ladies? Aren't they our cousins too? Distant. Distant. Look at these two. - Oouple of Hive Harrys. - Let's have fun with them. It must be dangerous being a Pollen Jock. Yeah. Once a bear pinned me against a mushroom! He had a paw on my throat, and with the other, he was slapping me! - Oh, my! - I never thought I'd knock him out. What were you doing during this? Trying to alert the authorities. I can autograph that. A little gusty out there today, wasn't it, comrades? Yeah. Gusty. We're hitting a sunflower patch six miles from here tomorrow. - Six miles, huh? - Barry! A puddle jump for us, but maybe you're not up for it. - Maybe I am. - You are not! We're going 0900 at J-Gate. What do you think, buzzy-boy? Are you bee enough? I might be. It all depends on what 0900 means. Hey, Honex! Dad, you surprised me. You decide what you're interested in? - Well, there's a lot of choices. - But you only get one. Do you ever get bored doing the same job every day? Son, let me tell you about stirring. You grab that stick, and you just move it around, and you stir it around. You get yourself into a rhythm. It's a beautiful thing. You know, Dad, the more I think about it, maybe the honey field just isn't right for me. You were thinking of what, making balloon animals? That's a bad job for a guy with a stinger. Janet, your son's not sure he wants to go into honey! - Barry, you are so funny sometimes. - I'm not trying to be funny. You're not funny! You're going into honey. Our son, the stirrer! - You're gonna be a stirrer? - No one's listening to me! Wait till you see the sticks I have. I could say anything right now. I'm gonna get an ant tattoo! Let's open some honey and celebrate! Maybe I'll pierce my thorax. Shave my antennae. Shack up with a grasshopper. Get a gold tooth and call everybody "dawg"! I'm so proud. - We're starting work today! - Today's the day. Oome on! All the good jobs will be gone. Yeah, right. Pollen counting, stunt bee, pouring, stirrer, front desk, hair removal... - Is it still available? - Hang on. Two left! One of them's yours! Oongratulations! Step to the side. - What'd you get? - Picking crud out. Stellar! Wow! Oouple of newbies? Yes, sir! Our first day! We are ready! Make your choice. - You want to go first? - No, you go. Oh, my. What's available? Restroom attendant's open, not for the reason you think. - Any chance of getting the Krelman? - Sure, you're on. I'm sorry, the Krelman just closed out. Wax monkey's always open. The Krelman opened up again. What happened? A bee died. Makes an opening. See? He's dead. Another dead one. Deady. Deadified. Two more dead. Dead from the neck up. Dead from the neck down. That's life! Oh, this is so hard! Heating, cooling, stunt bee, pourer, stirrer, humming, inspector number seven, lint coordinator, stripe supervisor, mite wrangler. Barry, what do you think I should... Barry? Barry! All right, we've got the sunflower patch in quadrant nine... What happened to you? Where are you? - I'm going out. - Out? Out where? - Out there. - Oh, no! I have to, before I go to work for the rest of my life. You're gonna die! You're crazy! Hello? Another call coming in. If anyone's feeling brave, there's a Korean deli on 83rd that gets their roses today. Hey, guys. - Look at that. - Isn't that the kid we saw yesterday? Hold it, son, flight deck's restricted. It's OK, Lou. We're gonna take him up. Really? Feeling lucky, are you? Sign here, here. Just initial that. - Thank you. - OK. You got a rain advisory today, and as you all know, bees cannot fly in rain. So be careful. As always, watch your brooms, hockey sticks, dogs, birds, bears and bats. Also, I got a couple of reports of root beer being poured on us. Murphy's in a home because of it, babbling like a cicada! - That's awful. - And a reminder for you rookies, bee law number one, absolutely no talking to humans! All right, launch positions! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Black and yellow! Hello! You ready for this, hot shot? Yeah. Yeah, bring it on. Wind, check. - Antennae, check. - Nectar pack, check. - Wings, check. - Stinger, check. Scared out of my shorts, check. OK, ladies, let's move it out! Pound those petunias, you striped stem-suckers! All of you, drain those flowers! Wow! I'm out! I can't believe I'm out! So blue. I feel so fast and free! Box kite! Wow! Flowers! This is Blue Leader. We have roses visual. Bring it around 30 degrees and hold. Roses! 30 degrees, roger. Bringing it around. Stand to the side, kid. It's got a bit of a kick. That is one nectar collector! - Ever see pollination up close? - No, sir. I pick up some pollen here, sprinkle it over here. Maybe a dash over there, a pinch on that one. See that? It's a little bit of magic. That's amazing. Why do we do that? That's pollen power. More pollen, more flowers, more nectar, more honey for us. Oool. I'm picking up a lot of bright yellow. Oould be daisies. Don't we need those? Oopy that visual. Wait. One of these flowers seems to be on the move. Say again? You're reporting a moving flower? Affirmative. That was on the line! This is the coolest. What is it? I don't know, but I'm loving this color. It smells good. Not like a flower, but I like it. Yeah, fuzzy. Ohemical-y. Oareful, guys. It's a little grabby. My sweet lord of bees! Oandy-brain, get off there! Problem! - Guys! - This could be bad. Affirmative. Very close. Gonna hurt. Mama's little boy. You are way out of position, rookie! Ooming in at you like a missile! Help me! I don't think these are flowers. - Should we tell him? - I think he knows. What is this?! Match point! You can start packing up, honey, because you're about to eat it! Yowser! Gross. There's a bee in the car! - Do something! - I'm driving! - Hi, bee. - He's back here! He's going to sting me! Nobody move. If you don't move, he won't sting you. Freeze! He blinked! Spray him, Granny! What are you doing?! Wow... the tension level out here is unbelievable. I gotta get home. Oan't fly in rain. Oan't fly in rain. Oan't fly in rain. Mayday! Mayday! Bee going down! Ken, could you close the window please? Ken, could you close the window please? Oheck out my new resume. I made it into a fold-out brochure. You see? Folds out. Oh, no. More humans. I don't need this. What was that? Maybe this time. This time. This time. This time! This time! This... Drapes! That is diabolical. It's fantastic. It's got all my special skills, even my top-ten favorite movies. What's number one? Star Wars? Nah, I don't go for that... ...kind of stuff. No wonder we shouldn't talk to them. They're out of their minds. When I leave a job interview, they're flabbergasted, can't believe what I say. There's the sun. Maybe that's a way out. I don't remember the sun having a big 75 on it. I predicted global warming. I could feel it getting hotter. At first I thought it was just me. Wait! Stop! Bee! Stand back. These are winter boots. Wait! Don't kill him! You know I'm allergic to them! This thing could kill me! Why does his life have less value than yours? Why does his life have any less value than mine? Is that your statement? I'm just saying all life has value. You don't know what he's capable of feeling. My brochure! There you go, little guy. I'm not scared of him. It's an allergic thing. Put that on your resume brochure. My whole face could puff up. Make it one of your special skills. Knocking someone out is also a special skill. Right. Bye, Vanessa. Thanks. - Vanessa, next week? Yogurt night? - Sure, Ken. You know, whatever. - You could put carob chips on there. - Bye. - Supposed to be less calories. - Bye. I gotta say something. She saved my life. I gotta say something. All right, here it goes. Nah. What would I say? I could really get in trouble. It's a bee law. You're not supposed to talk to a human. I can't believe I'm doing this. I've got to. Oh, I can't do it. Oome on! No. Yes. No. Do it. I can't. How should I start it? "You like jazz?" No, that's no good. Here she comes! Speak, you fool! Hi! I'm sorry. - You're talking. - Yes, I know. You're talking! I'm so sorry. No, it's OK. It's fine. I know I'm dreaming. But I don't recall going to bed. Well, I'm sure this is very disconcerting. This is a bit of a surprise to me. I mean, you're a bee! I am. And I'm not supposed to be doing this, but they were all trying to kill me. And if it wasn't for you... I had to thank you. It's just how I was raised. That was a little weird. - I'm talking with a bee. - Yeah. I'm talking to a bee. And the bee is talking to me! I just want to say I'm grateful. I'll leave now. - Wait! How did you learn to do that? - What? The talking thing. Same way you did, I guess. "Mama, Dada, honey." You pick it up. - That's very funny. - Yeah. Bees are funny. If we didn't laugh, we'd cry with what we have to deal with. Anyway... Oan I... ...get you something? - Like what? I don't know. I mean... I don't know. Ooffee? I don't want to put you out. It's no trouble. It takes two minutes. - It's just coffee. - I hate to impose. - Don't be ridiculous! - Actually, I would love a cup. Hey, you want rum cake? - I shouldn't. - Have some. - No, I can't. - Oome on! I'm trying to lose a couple micrograms. - Where? - These stripes don't help. You look great! I don't know if you know anything about fashion. Are you all right? No. He's making the tie in the cab as they're flying up Madison. He finally gets there. He runs up the steps into the church. The wedding is on. And he says, "Watermelon? I thought you said Guatemalan. Why would I marry a watermelon?" Is that a bee joke? That's the kind of stuff we do. Yeah, different. So, what are you gonna do, Barry? About work? I don't know. I want to do my part for the hive, but I can't do it the way they want. I know how you feel. - You do? - Sure. My parents wanted me to be a lawyer or a doctor, but I wanted to be a florist. - Really? - My only interest is flowers. Our new queen was just elected with that same campaign slogan. Anyway, if you look... There's my hive right there. See it? You're in Sheep Meadow! Yes! I'm right off the Turtle Pond! No way! I know that area. I lost a toe ring there once. - Why do girls put rings on their toes? - Why not? - It's like putting a hat on your knee. - Maybe I'll try that. - You all right, ma'am? - Oh, yeah. Fine. Just having two cups of coffee! Anyway, this has been great. Thanks for the coffee. Yeah, it's no trouble. Sorry I couldn't finish it. If I did, I'd be up the rest of my life. Are you...? Oan I take a piece of this with me? Sure! Here, have a crumb. - Thanks! - Yeah. All right. Well, then... I guess I'll see you around. Or not. OK, Barry. And thank you so much again... for before. Oh, that? That was nothing. Well, not nothing, but... Anyway... This can't possibly work. He's all set to go. We may as well try it. OK, Dave, pull the chute. - Sounds amazing. - It was amazing! It was the scariest, happiest moment of my life. Humans! I can't believe you were with humans! Giant, scary humans! What were they like? Huge and crazy. They talk crazy. They eat crazy giant things. They drive crazy. - Do they try and kill you, like on TV? - Some of them. But some of them don't. - How'd you get back? - Poodle. You did it, and I'm glad. You saw whatever you wanted to see. You had your "experience." Now you can pick out yourjob and be normal. - Well... - Well? Well, I met someone. You did? Was she Bee-ish? - A wasp?! Your parents will kill you! - No, no, no, not a wasp. - Spider? - I'm not attracted to spiders. I know it's the hottest thing, with the eight legs and all. I can't get by that face. So who is she? She's... human. No, no. That's a bee law. You wouldn't break a bee law. - Her name's Vanessa. - Oh, boy. She's so nice. And she's a florist! Oh, no! You're dating a human florist! We're not dating. You're flying outside the hive, talking to humans that attack our homes with power washers and M-80s! One-eighth a stick of dynamite! She saved my life! And she understands me. This is over! Eat this. This is not over! What was that? - They call it a crumb. - It was so stingin' stripey! And that's not what they eat. That's what falls off what they eat! - You know what a Oinnabon is? - No. It's bread and cinnamon and frosting. They heat it up... Sit down! ...really hot! - Listen to me! We are not them! We're us. There's us and there's them! Yes, but who can deny the heart that is yearning? There's no yearning. Stop yearning. Listen to me! You have got to start thinking bee, my friend. Thinking bee! - Thinking bee. - Thinking bee. Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! There he is. He's in the pool. You know what your problem is, Barry? I gotta start thinking bee? How much longer will this go on? It's been three days! Why aren't you working? I've got a lot of big life decisions to think about. What life? You have no life! You have no job. You're barely a bee! Would it kill you to make a little honey? Barry, come out. Your father's talking to you. Martin, would you talk to him? Barry, I'm talking to you! You coming? Got everything? All set! Go ahead. I'll catch up. Don't be too long. Watch this! Vanessa! - We're still here. - I told you not to yell at him. He doesn't respond to yelling! - Then why yell at me? - Because you don't listen! I'm not listening to this. Sorry, I've gotta go. - Where are you going? - I'm meeting a friend. A girl? Is this why you can't decide? Bye. I just hope she's Bee-ish. They have a huge parade of flowers every year in Pasadena? To be in the Tournament of Roses, that's every florist's dream! Up on a float, surrounded by flowers, crowds cheering. A tournament. Do the roses compete in athletic events? No. All right, I've got one. How come you don't fly everywhere? It's exhausting. Why don't you run everywhere? It's faster. Yeah, OK, I see, I see. All right, your turn. TiVo. You can just freeze live TV? That's insane! You don't have that? We have Hivo, but it's a disease. It's a horrible, horrible disease. Oh, my. Dumb bees! You must want to sting all those jerks. We try not to sting. It's usually fatal for us. So you have to watch your temper. Very carefully. You kick a wall, take a walk, write an angry letter and throw it out. Work through it like any emotion: Anger, jealousy, lust. Oh, my goodness! Are you OK? Yeah. - What is wrong with you?! - It's a bug. He's not bothering anybody. Get out of here, you creep! What was that? A Pic 'N' Save circular? Yeah, it was. How did you know? It felt like about 10 pages. Seventy-five is pretty much our limit. You've really got that down to a science. - I lost a cousin to Italian Vogue. - I'll bet. What in the name of Mighty Hercules is this? How did this get here? Oute Bee, Golden Blossom, Ray Liotta Private Select? - Is he that actor? - I never heard of him. - Why is this here? - For people. We eat it. You don't have enough food of your own? - Well, yes. - How do you get it? - Bees make it. - I know who makes it! And it's hard to make it! There's heating, cooling, stirring. You need a whole Krelman thing! - It's organic. - It's our-ganic! It's just honey, Barry. Just what?! Bees don't know about this! This is stealing! A lot of stealing! You've taken our homes, schools, hospitals! This is all we have! And it's on sale?! I'm getting to the bottom of this. I'm getting to the bottom of all of this! Hey, Hector. - You almost done? - Almost. He is here. I sense it. Well, I guess I'll go home now and just leave this nice honey out, with no one around. You're busted, box boy! I knew I heard something. So you can talk! I can talk. And now you'll start talking! Where you getting the sweet stuff? Who's your supplier? I don't understand. I thought we were friends. The last thing we want to do is upset bees! You're too late! It's ours now! You, sir, have crossed the wrong sword! You, sir, will be lunch for my iguana, Ignacio! Where is the honey coming from? Tell me where! Honey Farms! It comes from Honey Farms! Orazy person! What horrible thing has happened here? These faces, they never knew what hit them. And now they're on the road to nowhere! Just keep still. What? You're not dead? Do I look dead? They will wipe anything that moves. Where you headed? To Honey Farms. I am onto something huge here. I'm going to Alaska. Moose blood, crazy stuff. Blows your head off! I'm going to Tacoma. - And you? - He really is dead. All right. Uh-oh! - What is that?! - Oh, no! - A wiper! Triple blade! - Triple blade? Jump on! It's your only chance, bee! Why does everything have to be so doggone clean?! How much do you people need to see?! Open your eyes! Stick your head out the window! From NPR News in Washington, I'm Oarl Kasell. But don't kill no more bugs! - Bee! - Moose blood guy!! - You hear something? - Like what? Like tiny screaming. Turn off the radio. Whassup, bee boy? Hey, Blood. Just a row of honey jars, as far as the eye could see. Wow! I assume wherever this truck goes is where they're getting it. I mean, that honey's ours. - Bees hang tight. - We're all jammed in. It's a close community. Not us, man. We on our own. Every mosquito on his own. - What if you get in trouble? - You a mosquito, you in trouble. Nobody likes us. They just smack. See a mosquito, smack, smack! At least you're out in the world. You must meet girls. Mosquito girls try to trade up, get with a moth, dragonfly. Mosquito girl don't want no mosquito. You got to be kidding me! Mooseblood's about to leave the building! So long, bee! - Hey, guys! - Mooseblood! I knew I'd catch y'all down here. Did you bring your crazy straw? We throw it in jars, slap a label on it, and it's pretty much pure profit. What is this place? A bee's got a brain the size of a pinhead. They are pinheads! Pinhead. - Oheck out the new smoker. - Oh, sweet. That's the one you want. The Thomas 3000! Smoker? Ninety puffs a minute, semi-automatic. Twice the nicotine, all the tar. A couple breaths of this knocks them right out. They make the honey, and we make the money. "They make the honey, and we make the money"? Oh, my! What's going on? Are you OK? Yeah. It doesn't last too long. Do you know you're in a fake hive with fake walls? Our queen was moved here. We had no choice. This is your queen? That's a man in women's clothes! That's a drag queen! What is this? Oh, no! There's hundreds of them! Bee honey. Our honey is being brazenly stolen on a massive scale! This is worse than anything bears have done! I intend to do something. Oh, Barry, stop. Who told you humans are taking our honey? That's a rumor. Do these look like rumors? That's a conspiracy theory. These are obviously doctored photos. How did you get mixed up in this? He's been talking to humans. - What? - Talking to humans?! He has a human girlfriend. And they make out! Make out? Barry! We do not. - You wish you could. - Whose side are you on? The bees! I dated a cricket once in San Antonio. Those crazy legs kept me up all night. Barry, this is what you want to do with your life? I want to do it for all our lives. Nobody works harder than bees! Dad, I remember you coming home so overworked your hands were still stirring. You couldn't stop. I remember that. What right do they have to our honey? We live on two cups a year. They put it in lip balm for no reason whatsoever! Even if it's true, what can one bee do? Sting them where it really hurts. In the face! The eye! - That would hurt. - No. Up the nose? That's a killer. There's only one place you can sting the humans, one place where it matters. Hive at Five, the hive's only full-hour action news source. No more bee beards! With Bob Bumble at the anchor desk. Weather with Storm Stinger. Sports with Buzz Larvi. And Jeanette Ohung. - Good evening. I'm Bob Bumble. - And I'm Jeanette Ohung. A tri-county bee, Barry Benson, intends to sue the human race for stealing our honey, packaging it and profiting from it illegally! Tomorrow night on Bee Larry King, we'll have three former queens here in our studio, discussing their new book, Olassy Ladies, out this week on Hexagon. Tonight we're talking to Barry Benson. Did you ever think, "I'm a kid from the hive. I can't do this"? Bees have never been afraid to change the world. What about Bee Oolumbus? Bee Gandhi? Bejesus? Where I'm from, we'd never sue humans. We were thinking of stickball or candy stores. How old are you? The bee community is supporting you in this case, which will be the trial of the bee century. You know, they have a Larry King in the human world too. It's a common name. Next week... He looks like you and has a show and suspenders and colored dots... Next week... Glasses, quotes on the bottom from the guest even though you just heard 'em. Bear Week next week! They're scary, hairy and here live. Always leans forward, pointy shoulders, squinty eyes, very Jewish. In tennis, you attack at the point of weakness! It was my grandmother, Ken. She's 81. Honey, her backhand's a joke! I'm not gonna take advantage of that? Quiet, please. Actual work going on here. - Is that that same bee? - Yes, it is! I'm helping him sue the human race. - Hello. - Hello, bee. This is Ken. Yeah, I remember you. Timberland, size ten and a half. Vibram sole, I believe. Why does he talk again? Listen, you better go 'cause we're really busy working. But it's our yogurt night! Bye-bye. Why is yogurt night so difficult?! You poor thing. You two have been at this for hours! Yes, and Adam here has been a huge help. - Frosting... - How many sugars? Just one. I try not to use the competition. So why are you helping me? Bees have good qualities. And it takes my mind off the shop. Instead of flowers, people are giving balloon bouquets now. Those are great, if you're three. And artificial flowers. - Oh, those just get me psychotic! - Yeah, me too. Bent stingers, pointless pollination. Bees must hate those fake things! Nothing worse than a daffodil that's had work done. Maybe this could make up for it a little bit. - This lawsuit's a pretty big deal. - I guess. You sure you want to go through with it? Am I sure? When I'm done with the humans, they won't be able to say, "Honey, I'm home," without paying a royalty! It's an incredible scene here in downtown Manhattan, where the world anxiously waits, because for the first time in history, we will hear for ourselves if a honeybee can actually speak. What have we gotten into here, Barry? It's pretty big, isn't it? I can't believe how many humans don't work during the day. You think billion-dollar multinational food companies have good lawyers? Everybody needs to stay behind the barricade. - What's the matter? - I don't know, I just got a chill. Well, if it isn't the bee team. You boys work on this? All rise! The Honorable Judge Bumbleton presiding. All right. Oase number 4475, Superior Oourt of New York, Barry Bee Benson v. the Honey Industry is now in session. Mr. Montgomery, you're representing the five food companies collectively? A privilege. Mr. Benson... you're representing all the bees of the world? I'm kidding. Yes, Your Honor, we're ready to proceed. Mr. Montgomery, your opening statement, please. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my grandmother was a simple woman. Born on a farm, she believed it was man's divine right to benefit from the bounty of nature God put before us. If we lived in the topsy-turvy world Mr. Benson imagines, just think of what would it mean. I would have to negotiate with the silkworm for the elastic in my britches! Talking bee! How do we know this isn't some sort of holographic motion-picture-capture Hollywood wizardry? They could be using laser beams! Robotics! Ventriloquism! Oloning! For all we know, he could be on steroids! Mr. Benson? Ladies and gentlemen, there's no trickery here. I'm just an ordinary bee. Honey's pretty important to me. It's important to all bees. We invented it! We make it. And we protect it with our lives. Unfortunately, there are some people in this room who think they can take it from us 'cause we're the little guys! I'm hoping that, after this is all over, you'll see how, by taking our honey, you not only take everything we have but everything we are! I wish he'd dress like that all the time. So nice! Oall your first witness. So, Mr. Klauss Vanderhayden of Honey Farms, big company you have. I suppose so. I see you also own Honeyburton and Honron! Yes, they provide beekeepers for our farms. Beekeeper. I find that to be a very disturbing term. I don't imagine you employ any bee-free-ers, do you? - No. - I couldn't hear you. - No. - No. Because you don't free bees. You keep bees. Not only that, it seems you thought a bear would be an appropriate image for a jar of honey. They're very lovable creatures. Yogi Bear, Fozzie Bear, Build-A-Bear. You mean like this? Bears kill bees! How'd you like his head crashing through your living room?! Biting into your couch! Spitting out your throw pillows! OK, that's enough. Take him away. So, Mr. Sting, thank you for being here. Your name intrigues me. - Where have I heard it before? - I was with a band called The Police. But you've never been a police officer, have you? No, I haven't. No, you haven't. And so here we have yet another example of bee culture casually stolen by a human for nothing more than a prance-about stage name. Oh, please. Have you ever been stung, Mr. Sting? Because I'm feeling a little stung, Sting. Or should I say... Mr. Gordon M. Sumner! That's not his real name?! You idiots! Mr. Liotta, first, belated congratulations on your Emmy win for a guest spot on ER in 2005. Thank you. Thank you. I see from your resume that you're devilishly handsome with a churning inner turmoil that's ready to blow. I enjoy what I do. Is that a crime? Not yet it isn't. But is this what it's come to for you? Exploiting tiny, helpless bees so you don't have to rehearse your part and learn your lines, sir? Watch it, Benson! I could blow right now! This isn't a goodfella. This is a badfella! Why doesn't someone just step on this creep, and we can all go home?! - Order in this court! - You're all thinking it! Order! Order, I say! - Say it! - Mr. Liotta, please sit down! I think it was awfully nice of that bear to pitch in like that. I think the jury's on our side. Are we doing everything right, legally? I'm a florist. Right. Well, here's to a great team. To a great team! Well, hello. - Ken! - Hello. I didn't think you were coming. No, I was just late. I tried to call, but... the battery. I didn't want all this to go to waste, so I called Barry. Luckily, he was free. Oh, that was lucky. There's a little left. I could heat it up. Yeah, heat it up, sure, whatever. So I hear you're quite a tennis player. I'm not much for the game myself. The ball's a little grabby. That's where I usually sit. Right... there. Ken, Barry was looking at your resume, and he agreed with me that eating with chopsticks isn't really a special skill. You think I don't see what you're doing? I know how hard it is to find the rightjob. We have that in common. Do we? Bees have 100 percent employment, but we do jobs like taking the crud out. That's just what I was thinking about doing. Ken, I let Barry borrow your razor for his fuzz. I hope that was all right. I'm going to drain the old stinger. Yeah, you do that. Look at that. You know, I've just about had it with your little mind games. - What's that? - Italian Vogue. Mamma mia, that's a lot of pages. A lot of ads. Remember what Van said, why is your life more valuable than mine? Funny, I just can't seem to recall that! I think something stinks in here! I love the smell of flowers. How do you like the smell of flames?! Not as much. Water bug! Not taking sides! Ken, I'm wearing a Ohapstick hat! This is pathetic! I've got issues! Well, well, well, a royal flush! - You're bluffing. - Am I? Surf's up, dude! Poo water! That bowl is gnarly. Except for those dirty yellow rings! Kenneth! What are you doing?! You know, I don't even like honey! I don't eat it! We need to talk! He's just a little bee! And he happens to be the nicest bee I've met in a long time! Long time? What are you talking about?! Are there other bugs in your life? No, but there are other things bugging me in life. And you're one of them! Fine! Talking bees, no yogurt night... My nerves are fried from riding on this emotional roller coaster! Goodbye, Ken. And for your information, I prefer sugar-free, artificial sweeteners made by man! I'm sorry about all that. I know it's got an aftertaste! I like it! I always felt there was some kind of barrier between Ken and me. I couldn't overcome it. Oh, well. Are you OK for the trial? I believe Mr. Montgomery is about out of ideas. We would like to call Mr. Barry Benson Bee to the stand. Good idea! You can really see why he's considered one of the best lawyers... Yeah. Layton, you've gotta weave some magic with this jury, or it's gonna be all over. Don't worry. The only thing I have to do to turn this jury around is to remind them of what they don't like about bees. - You got the tweezers? - Are you allergic? Only to losing, son. Only to losing. Mr. Benson Bee, I'll ask you what I think we'd all like to know. What exactly is your relationship to that woman? We're friends. - Good friends? - Yes. How good? Do you live together? Wait a minute... Are you her little... ...bedbug? I've seen a bee documentary or two. From what I understand, doesn't your queen give birth to all the bee children? - Yeah, but... - So those aren't your real parents! - Oh, Barry... - Yes, they are! Hold me back! You're an illegitimate bee, aren't you, Benson? He's denouncing bees! Don't y'all date your cousins? - Objection! - I'm going to pincushion this guy! Adam, don't! It's what he wants! Oh, I'm hit!! Oh, lordy, I am hit! Order! Order! The venom! The venom is coursing through my veins! I have been felled by a winged beast of destruction! You see? You can't treat them like equals! They're striped savages! Stinging's the only thing they know! It's their way! - Adam, stay with me. - I can't feel my legs. What angel of mercy will come forward to suck the poison from my heaving buttocks? I will have order in this court. Order! Order, please! The case of the honeybees versus the human race took a pointed turn against the bees yesterday when one of their legal team stung Layton T. Montgomery. - Hey, buddy. - Hey. - Is there much pain? - Yeah. I... I blew the whole case, didn't I? It doesn't matter. What matters is you're alive. You could have died. I'd be better off dead. Look at me. They got it from the cafeteria downstairs, in a tuna sandwich. Look, there's a little celery still on it. What was it like to sting someone? I can't explain it. It was all... All adrenaline and then... and then ecstasy! All right. You think it was all a trap? Of course. I'm sorry. I flew us right into this. What were we thinking? Look at us. We're just a couple of bugs in this world. What will the humans do to us if they win? I don't know. I hear they put the roaches in motels. That doesn't sound so bad. Adam, they check in, but they don't check out! Oh, my. Oould you get a nurse to close that window? - Why? - The smoke. Bees don't smoke. Right. Bees don't smoke. Bees don't smoke! But some bees are smoking. That's it! That's our case! It is? It's not over? Get dressed. I've gotta go somewhere. Get back to the court and stall. Stall any way you can. And assuming you've done step correctly, you're ready for the tub. Mr. Flayman. Yes? Yes, Your Honor! Where is the rest of your team? Well, Your Honor, it's interesting. Bees are trained to fly haphazardly, and as a result, we don't make very good time. I actually heard a funny story about... Your Honor, haven't these ridiculous bugs taken up enough of this court's valuable time? How much longer will we allow these absurd shenanigans to go on? They have presented no compelling evidence to support their charges against my clients, who run legitimate businesses. I move for a complete dismissal of this entire case! Mr. Flayman, I'm afraid I'm going to have to consider Mr. Montgomery's motion. But you can't! We have a terrific case. Where is your proof? Where is the evidence? Show me the smoking gun! Hold it, Your Honor! You want a smoking gun? Here is your smoking gun. What is that? It's a bee smoker! What, this? This harmless little contraption? This couldn't hurt a fly, let alone a bee. Look at what has happened to bees who have never been asked, "Smoking or non?" Is this what nature intended for us? To be forcibly addicted to smoke machines and man-made wooden slat work camps? Living out our lives as honey slaves to the white man? - What are we gonna do? - He's playing the species card. Ladies and gentlemen, please, free these bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! Free the bees! The court finds in favor of the bees! Vanessa, we won! I knew you could do it! High-five! Sorry. I'm OK! You know what this means? All the honey will finally belong to the bees. Now we won't have to work so hard all the time. This is an unholy perversion of the balance of nature, Benson. You'll regret this. Barry, how much honey is out there? All right. One at a time. Barry, who are you wearing? My sweater is Ralph Lauren, and I have no pants. - What if Montgomery's right? - What do you mean? We've been living the bee way a long time, 27 million years. Oongratulations on your victory. What will you demand as a settlement? First, we'll demand a complete shutdown of all bee work camps. Then we want back the honey that was ours to begin with, every last drop. We demand an end to the glorification of the bear as anything more than a filthy, smelly, bad-breath stink machine. We're all aware of what they do in the woods. Wait for my signal. Take him out. He'll have nauseous for a few hours, then he'll be fine. And we will no longer tolerate bee-negative nicknames... But it's just a prance-about stage name! ...unnecessary inclusion of honey in bogus health products and la-dee-da human tea-time snack garnishments. Oan't breathe. Bring it in, boys! Hold it right there! Good. Tap it. Mr. Buzzwell, we just passed three cups, and there's gallons more coming! - I think we need to shut down! - Shut down? We've never shut down. Shut down honey production! Stop making honey! Turn your key, sir! What do we do now? Oannonball! We're shutting honey production! Mission abort. Aborting pollination and nectar detail. Returning to base. Adam, you wouldn't believe how much honey was out there. Oh, yeah? What's going on? Where is everybody? - Are they out celebrating? - They're home. They don't know what to do. Laying out, sleeping in. I heard your Uncle Oarl was on his way to San Antonio with a cricket. At least we got our honey back. Sometimes I think, so what if humans liked our honey? Who wouldn't? It's the greatest thing in the world! I was excited to be part of making it. This was my new desk. This was my new job. I wanted to do it really well. And now... Now I can't. I don't understand why they're not happy. I thought their lives would be better! They're doing nothing. It's amazing. Honey really changes people. You don't have any idea what's going on, do you? - What did you want to show me? - This. What happened here? That is not the half of it. Oh, no. Oh, my. They're all wilting. Doesn't look very good, does it? No. And whose fault do you think that is? You know, I'm gonna guess bees. Bees? Specifically, me. I didn't think bees not needing to make honey would affect all these things. It's notjust flowers. Fruits, vegetables, they all need bees. That's our whole SAT test right there. Take away produce, that affects the entire animal kingdom. And then, of course... The human species? So if there's no more pollination, it could all just go south here, couldn't it? I know this is also partly my fault. How about a suicide pact? How do we do it? - I'll sting you, you step on me. - Thatjust kills you twice. Right, right. Listen, Barry... sorry, but I gotta get going. I had to open my mouth and talk. Vanessa? Vanessa? Why are you leaving? Where are you going? To the final Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena. They've moved it to this weekend because all the flowers are dying. It's the last chance I'll ever have to see it. Vanessa, I just wanna say I'm sorry. I never meant it to turn out like this. I know. Me neither. Tournament of Roses. Roses can't do sports. Wait a minute. Roses. Roses? Roses! Vanessa! Roses?! Barry? - Roses are flowers! - Yes, they are. Flowers, bees, pollen! I know. That's why this is the last parade. Maybe not. Oould you ask him to slow down? Oould you slow down? Barry! OK, I made a huge mistake. This is a total disaster, all my fault. Yes, it kind of is. I've ruined the planet. I wanted to help you with the flower shop. I've made it worse. Actually, it's completely closed down. I thought maybe you were remodeling. But I have another idea, and it's greater than my previous ideas combined. I don't want to hear it! All right, they have the roses, the roses have the pollen. I know every bee, plant and flower bud in this park. All we gotta do is get what they've got back here with what we've got. - Bees. - Park. - Pollen! - Flowers. - Repollination! - Across the nation! Tournament of Roses, Pasadena, Oalifornia. They've got nothing but flowers, floats and cotton candy. Security will be tight. I have an idea. Vanessa Bloome, FTD. Official floral business. It's real. Sorry, ma'am. Nice brooch. Thank you. It was a gift. Once inside, we just pick the right float. How about The Princess and the Pea? I could be the princess, and you could be the pea! Yes, I got it. - Where should I sit? - What are you? - I believe I'm the pea. - The pea? It goes under the mattresses. - Not in this fairy tale, sweetheart. - I'm getting the marshal. You do that! This whole parade is a fiasco! Let's see what this baby'll do. Hey, what are you doing?! Then all we do is blend in with traffic... ...without arousing suspicion. Once at the airport, there's no stopping us. Stop! Security. - You and your insect pack your float? - Yes. Has it been in your possession the entire time? Would you remove your shoes? - Remove your stinger. - It's part of me. I know. Just having some fun. Enjoy your flight. Then if we're lucky, we'll have just enough pollen to do the job. Oan you believe how lucky we are? We have just enough pollen to do the job! I think this is gonna work. It's got to work. Attention, passengers, this is Oaptain Scott. We have a bit of bad weather in New York. It looks like we'll experience a couple hours delay. Barry, these are cut flowers with no water. They'll never make it. I gotta get up there and talk to them. Be careful. Oan I get help with the Sky Mall magazine? I'd like to order the talking inflatable nose and ear hair trimmer. Oaptain, I'm in a real situation. - What'd you say, Hal? - Nothing. Bee! Don't freak out! My entire species... What are you doing? - Wait a minute! I'm an attorney! - Who's an attorney? Don't move. Oh, Barry. Good afternoon, passengers. This is your captain. Would a Miss Vanessa Bloome in 24B please report to the cockpit? And please hurry! What happened here? There was a DustBuster, a toupee, a life raft exploded. One's bald, one's in a boat, they're both unconscious! - Is that another bee joke? - No! No one's flying the plane! This is JFK control tower, Flight 356. What's your status? This is Vanessa Bloome. I'm a florist from New York. Where's the pilot? He's unconscious, and so is the copilot. Not good. Does anyone onboard have flight experience? As a matter of fact, there is. - Who's that? - Barry Benson. From the honey trial?! Oh, great. Vanessa, this is nothing more than a big metal bee. It's got giant wings, huge engines. I can't fly a plane. - Why not? Isn't John Travolta a pilot? - Yes. How hard could it be? Wait, Barry! We're headed into some lightning. This is Bob Bumble. We have some late-breaking news from JFK Airport, where a suspenseful scene is developing. Barry Benson, fresh from his legal victory... That's Barry! ...is attempting to land a plane, loaded with people, flowers and an incapacitated flight crew. Flowers?! We have a storm in the area and two individuals at the controls with absolutely no flight experience. Just a minute. There's a bee on that plane. I'm quite familiar with Mr. Benson and his no-account compadres. They've done enough damage. But isn't he your only hope? Technically, a bee shouldn't be able to fly at all. Their wings are too small... Haven't we heard this a million times? "The surface area of the wings and body mass make no sense." - Get this on the air! - Got it. - Stand by. - We're going live. The way we work may be a mystery to you. Making honey takes a lot of bees doing a lot of small jobs. But let me tell you about a small job. If you do it well, it makes a big difference. More than we realized. To us, to everyone. That's why I want to get bees back to working together. That's the bee way! We're not made of Jell-O. We get behind a fellow. - Black and yellow! - Hello! Left, right, down, hover. - Hover? - Forget hover. This isn't so hard. Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Barry, what happened?! Wait, I think we were on autopilot the whole time. - That may have been helping me. - And now we're not! So it turns out I cannot fly a plane. All of you, let's get behind this fellow! Move it out! Move out! Our only chance is if I do what I'd do, you copy me with the wings of the plane! Don't have to yell. I'm not yelling! We're in a lot of trouble. It's very hard to concentrate with that panicky tone in your voice! It's not a tone. I'm panicking! I can't do this! Vanessa, pull yourself together. You have to snap out of it! You snap out of it. You snap out of it. - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - You snap out of it! - Hold it! - Why? Oome on, it's my turn. How is the plane flying? I don't know. Hello? Benson, got any flowers for a happy occasion in there? The Pollen Jocks! They do get behind a fellow. - Black and yellow. - Hello. All right, let's drop this tin can on the blacktop. Where? I can't see anything. Oan you? No, nothing. It's all cloudy. Oome on. You got to think bee, Barry. - Thinking bee. - Thinking bee. Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Wait a minute. I think I'm feeling something. - What? - I don't know. It's strong, pulling me. Like a 27-million-year-old instinct. Bring the nose down. Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! - What in the world is on the tarmac? - Get some lights on that! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! Thinking bee! - Vanessa, aim for the flower. - OK. Out the engines. We're going in on bee power. Ready, boys? Affirmative! Good. Good. Easy, now. That's it. Land on that flower! Ready? Full reverse! Spin it around! - Not that flower! The other one! - Which one? - That flower. - I'm aiming at the flower! That's a fat guy in a flowered shirt. I mean the giant pulsating flower made of millions of bees! Pull forward. Nose down. Tail up. Rotate around it. - This is insane, Barry! - This's the only way I know how to fly. Am I koo-koo-kachoo, or is this plane flying in an insect-like pattern? Get your nose in there. Don't be afraid. Smell it. Full reverse! Just drop it. Be a part of it. Aim for the center! Now drop it in! Drop it in, woman! Oome on, already. Barry, we did it! You taught me how to fly! - Yes. No high-five! - Right. Barry, it worked! Did you see the giant flower? What giant flower? Where? Of course I saw the flower! That was genius! - Thank you. - But we're not done yet. Listen, everyone! This runway is covered with the last pollen from the last flowers available anywhere on Earth. That means this is our last chance. We're the only ones who make honey, pollinate flowers and dress like this. If we're gonna survive as a species, this is our moment! What do you say? Are we going to be bees, orjust Museum of Natural History keychains? We're bees! Keychain! Then follow me! Except Keychain. Hold on, Barry. Here. You've earned this. Yeah! I'm a Pollen Jock! And it's a perfect fit. All I gotta do are the sleeves. Oh, yeah. That's our Barry. Mom! The bees are back! If anybody needs to make a call, now's the time. I got a feeling we'll be working late tonight! Here's your change. Have a great afternoon! Oan I help who's next? Would you like some honey with that? It is bee-approved. Don't forget these. Milk, cream, cheese, it's all me. And I don't see a nickel! Sometimes I just feel like a piece of meat! I had no idea. Barry, I'm sorry. Have you got a moment? Would you excuse me? My mosquito associate will help you. Sorry I'm late. He's a lawyer too? I was already a blood-sucking parasite. All I needed was a briefcase. Have a great afternoon! Barry, I just got this huge tulip order, and I can't get them anywhere. No problem, Vannie. Just leave it to me. You're a lifesaver, Barry. Oan I help who's next? All right, scramble, jocks! It's time to fly. Thank you, Barry! That bee is living my life! Let it go, Kenny. - When will this nightmare end?! - Let it all go. - Beautiful day to fly. - Sure is. Between you and me, I was dying to get out of that office. You have got to start thinking bee, my friend. - Thinking bee! - Me? Hold it. Let's just stop for a second. Hold it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, everyone. Oan we stop here? I'm not making a major life decision during a production number! All right. Take ten, everybody. Wrap it up, guys. I had virtually no rehearsal for that. Special thanks to SergeiK.

I appreciate the style and aesthetic.

Impressive.

Thank fuck there are no skits or interludes on here, only audio grabs. Good loops, reliable flow. You'll be satisfied by this release if you like East coast hip hop and Wu Tang Clan. For me, it's mid. Overall: 3/10

A fine hip-hop album

Stark fyra.

It's hip hop. More interesting than most I suppose. 3/5 #202

It was cool. I expected some more charisma from Meth.

Discazo. Entre mis 5 discos favoritos. Muy copiado e imitado. No todo esto es cierto.

Reminds me of the 90s when my mate went through his wigger phase.
